My grandson Jack Pumpkinhead, he has every disease, he's wanted in forty-seven countries, and he is a single-celled organism.
The design on the left is from a small animated show, Adventures In The Emerald City, and it was my first exposure to this lil' guy! Love him.

If reading this book as a kid made you sad or angry for reasons you cannot adequately understand or explain, you, uh...you might want to look up "gender dysphoria". Just saying.

When I wrote my entry about the Ozma of Oz recut from the Japanese TV anime The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (オズの魔法使い), I had forgotten that the Return to Oz film combined story elements from both the second and third Land of Oz books. So, now that I've watched The Marvelous Land of Oz, here's another comparison between the character designs for Jack Pumpkinhead.

Updated character designs for my upcoming webcomic!!!
You may have seen earlier versions of these designs I've shared before, but these were made after I completed the final thumbnails and are therefore more or less the final versions. Once I finish the website, these will be on the character page at a higher resolution.
These are in order of appearance, except for the wogglebugs, which aren't really characters.
I don't know, I might change Glinda & Dorothy as they don't show up till the very end, but I'm pretty happy with them now.
There are a few characters that weren't included because they're major spoilers.
