AAAAA SO FIRST OF ALL THANK YOU!! 😭💗💗💗 And second of all, SO MANY NOTABLE BRENNER THOUGHTS!! Im half awake rn so I WILL have more coherent Brenner thoughts later, but here’s some basics!

So, first of all, Brenner was fucking insane during TFS. Like if you thought he we mean/scary/cruel during the actual TV show, that is NOTHING compared to TFS Brenner. TFS Brenner was downright aggressive and cruel, straight up screaming in Henry’s face about how he’ll never have a normal life and how nobody love shim and how he has no friends except for Brenner & how if he leaves, he’ll just come crawling back to brenner

Like, SCREAMING right in Henry’s face, close enough to lick his damn eyeballs.

Brenner also went from referring to himself and Henry as “father and son,” vs later on referring to Henry as “US government property,” and “a weapon,” and Brenner also tried to pin all of the blame for everything on Henry, despite even Mr Newby (even after seemingly being attacked and blinded by Henry but it wasn’t actually Henrys fault as Mr Newby reveals) saying that Henry was actually fighting “It”/the hivemind etc & that Henry wasn’t the problem and instead that he was the only person who could save them etc etc.

So, the “Henry is inherently evil,” truthers are basically on the same side as Brenner 💀💀💀

Also, when Mr Newby drew the mindflayer in blood, Patty held up the drawing RIGHT in front of Brenner/“layered” over Brenner’s face.

Also, Brenner’s birthday is October 28th, and that’s also the date that Brenner’s father & his crew ended up in the yellow Dimension X, which has me staring at all of Will’s birthday weirdness + his birthday being on the same date as the Creel murders in Edward’s timeline.

Also, something that’s really weird to me re: Brenner is that Brenner accuses Henry of “killing your family rabbit,” but we a.) never see him kill Any rabbit and b.) NOBODY ELSE MENTIONS THE CREELS HAVING A RABBIT OR IT DYING WHATSOEVER, the ONLY time this is mentioned is Brenner accusing Henry of it and that’s IT.

Like, why not show us the Creel family rabbit or even mention it??? Why not show him killing it??? Why have the ONLY acknowledgement of its existence be via Brenner’s words????? It’s got. “Brenner planting fake memories in Henry’s mind,” vibes.

Also, there was a scene of Virginia holding Henry with his head on her lap while singing “Tonight You Belong To Me,” with some REALLY weird incest vibes, versus Brenner holding Henry in basically the same way after Henry starts seizing & Brenner’s holding him. So, not only do we have the creepy Virginia incest romance vibes, but Brenner is also then paralleled to that exact incest romance scene…. Agony…

Also, Brenner drained Henry’s blood and transfused it into the lab kids & Henry’s hair was all shaggy & he had trouble standing up from the chair after & seems to have been restrained to it for a Long time .

yeah he's a horny teenager but like, does he really have people he can not put up a "mask" around?? Like yeah he's kinda close to Power and Aki but they aren't the sort of people he can take time off a really process all the trauma he's been through too. (I mean Power very nonchallently speaks about him dying and like yeah Aki eventually warms up to him to some degree but they uhhh don't exactly have a process-trauma-help sort of relationship).

He, while now having access to food and human(?) interaction, isn't even in a safe environment! Of course he's going to rely on whatever keeps him going, even moreso when he never was in an environment that taught what society deems common knowledge. We don't know how much he knows about puberty or hormones, like he straight up was killing devils since he was a kid. That's not going to teach you how to not rely on instincts ya know?

Also I love the parallels between Power and Denji like idk I feel like Denji would be a lot more like Power if he hadn't been saddled with so much debt. They have a funky dynamic

arengkajerng you make so many good pointsss. So many people can take for granted having all these things that aren't necessarily a garuntee for many people and look down on those people for not having "basic knowledge", not realizing that they are the privileged ones! Like people not looking into his character just shows off people's privilege.

mannnn not to turn this into a rant but it's so frustrating sometimes to see people flaunt their privilege without even realizing it when it comes to having clean food and water and shelter growing up without the constant threat of something going wrong. (I mean it sucks to see people flaunt their privilege regardless but idk this is one that goes under the radar because a lot of people (fortunately!!) cannot relate).

And oof that hole sounds bad, and hopefully where you are now doesn't have a hole? I know it's not the same but at one of the houses I lived in we had to renovate the windows and in the middle-ish of winter I didn't have a bedroom window for 2 weeks. I'd get snowed on lol (there was another window but the wood was rotting so idk how effective it was lol. It didn't get replaced).

Our window got stuck open in the winter a few times and it was NOT good so that sucks man. reminds me of that one winter where our boiler died for what feels like forever and I just got super used to wearing multiple socks and layers of shirts/coats at all times. I'd fucgkin go to bed in a thick coat and everything, I think I made a game out of seeing how many socks I could wear at once before it became a hazard.

anyway I'm at college rn so, no ceiling hole! and when we're on break, I stay at my girlfriends place, which ALSO doesn't have a hole in the ceiling!

for starters, i've talked briefly abt age 801 on my twitter before but i'd be glad to talk about it here too HAHA

though i haven't actually played this first hand so i won't go into too much detail in fear of giving wrong information. BUT BASICALLY there was this game called Dragon Ball Online, which "was a massive multiplayer online role-playing game being developed in Japan and South Korea by NTL, set in the Dragon Ball universe." again i didnt play it but from what i understand it takes place 200 ish years after the end of the buu arc in dbz.

age 801 is the year of goku's death, but it goes deeper than that LOL

APPARENTLY as goku realized his time to die was approaching, he reached out to vegeta, and the two of them LEFT EARTH WITHOUT A WORD and traveled to a far away planet in the middle of no where to have one final battle where they both went out in a blaze of glory. i don't remember where i heard this but apparently their death battle caused a supernova that was seen from earth years later

i'm rewatching dbz rn and i'm really obsessed with this one little filler arc that happens immediately after the saiyan arc. vegeta's on his way to some freeza planet to heal up, and goku's hospitalized. it's not very much content bc it's actually just a little side-thing that's shown while the Real filler is happening but i still love it regardless

i'm soo obsessed with this cinematic parallel here LOL i love that they're both healing from this battle at the same time but theyre also both thinking about what happened like. a LOT lol, pretty much any time either of them are on screen they're thinking about the fight that just happened HAHA

vegeta is literally floating in a healing pod dreaming about the fight whispering "kakarot" over and over?? and goku keeps sneaking out of the hospital to train for when vegeta comes back??

idk i just love it a lot LOL I KNOW ITS KINDA SMALL AND SEEMS LIKE IM REALLY GRASPING HERE BUT,, IDK I MEAN. the way the show sets it up so that's its like. vegeta in a healing pod saying "kakarot" (and NOTHING ELSE HAPPENS IN THE SCENE BTW HE'S JUST LIKE. "KAKAROT,,," AND THEN IT TRANSITIONS AHHA FDJH) and then immediately cuts to goku trying to sneak out of the hospital to train for vegeta's return (or smth similar)?? like the show is obviously trying to set up this parallel here between them and like. idk whether this is intentional or not but it DOES come off pretty gay imo LMAODJFJH

AND LIKE. OKAY i know vegeta's excuse is revenge and i know goku's excuse is wanting to protect earth when vegeta returns but,,, u also have to remember that goku LET VEGETA GO FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF SEEING HIM AGAIN LOL SO LIKE. basically this whole scene is goku being like "omg i'm too excited i can't just sit here in the hospital?? i have to train i have to be ready for him" LOL

this entire little filler is just so... like idk i feel like. during the fight they both had some wild thoughts and emotions flying around that they couldn't really sit down and piece together at that time (because.... they were amidst a life or death battle LOL) but this downtime is really important, like the seed has been planted and now they're both gonna spend time sitting here stewing and thinking about each other?? like this is IT, this is the first of many, many times that they'll be thinking about one another. this is how feelings start blooming hehe

one more thing, there's this scene where goku sneaks out of the hospital successfully and goes to train in the middle of nowhere but he overexerts himself terribly and falls, and as he's about to fall to his death he starts thinking about vegeta LOL

THIS HAPPENS A LOT BUT WHENEVER GOKU IS ABOUT TO DIE HE HAS A HABIT OF USING VEGETA AS LIKE. AN ANCHOR TO KEEP HIMSELF ALIVE AND PUSH FORWARD LOL

The sound of “all the way to state, all the way to state, all the way to state!” in the background as the camera focuses on Tami and Eric, watching over everything with sighs on their faces. They carry so much for this town and this team.

Oh shit it’s Bryn Mawr she wants to interview at? And omg they want to interview on the Friday of the semi-final. It’s all happening!

I really love the way they’re transitioning through this period of playoffs—the locker room updates to their progress with the radio in the background, the chants after each win — then making way for Eric dropping Tami off at the airport. Semifinals are here.

“The time when I need you the most?” “You really gonna bring this up now, on the way to the airport?” Tami’s right, she’s been nothing but straightforward all along! Tami supports you, Eric, let her have her fucking moment.

Damn Tim is VERY bothered by Becky working at the family business (The Landing Strip.)

Oh God what i feel like Tim sees in “one of Becky’s regular customers” is someone he has an excuse to let out his aggression on. He’s clearly just so fucked up by his life not being what he wanted it to be—and by even the life of those he loved and left behind on the outside not being what he wants for them.

“She’s 17 years old!!!! A high school junior!” I mean, FAIR. Fair fucking point.

Oh fuck this emotional scene between Tim and Billy in the parking lot...DAMN that was a hard punch in the face Tim just gave Billy.

Aw Regina and Vince communicating about how she needs to “take a meeting” so she can’t come to the game and him saying that’s more important...again, the growth! My heart!

twd thoughts and on 8x09. (carl fans, dont read this.)

“Make it real” /premise

-twd spoilers and twd comic spoilers.

me as a fan, im just like in the middle of being faithful of the show rn and being a passionate fan who quits. idk yet. but i will someday. that’s how being a fan of anything happens.

i know it’s all unpopular opinion but the way the writers did it, Carl’s death does make sense storywise, and it’s like very moving in what writers were thinking.....with the future, Henry, and Carl. And Negan.

ok, Carl’s ‘future’ dream I think is what comic-Rick had thought about during AOWar-rebuilding ASZ better than before, and why he didn’t kill Negan (because that’s uncivilized). I really liked that part and it’s interesting how the TV writers took that and made it really special like. Carl, wow a what young man and a hero.

And it was during AOW and making it some new premise for TWD/Rick to make Carl’s dream real and setting it up for “The New Beginning”. I think that’s a good premise or for me, imo. I noticed Skybound ...were also thinking Carl took comic-Andrea’s death. I think so too and I also think TWD show did the’ comic-Andrea’s death’ better. Well because I feel there was meaning and something that forwards to the story. In the comics during whisperer war, comic-Andrea died but I felt like nothing special happened afterwards, storywise. But it’s probably too soon to say because it’s very recent in the comics and it’s not done. ( i just realized Carl died like tv Andrea and comic Andrea. He even mentioned prison time-s3 and how they went back to ‘living’ in s4)

So it’s like TWD show writers wanted that comic-Andrea death to happen, and Gimple thought it would fit with Carl and during AOW. Well Gimple said he wanted something to make (more?) sense to have Rick change his mind and not kill Negan and prisoned him (and then Negan’s redemption. I’m guessing because of Carl’s death). I liked that it’s during AOW because it’s after the war, it’s the “New Beginning” and we see a lot of changes, goodness, and success kind of thing.

I know that Carl is very important to the story and it was like he died for Negan to live (and Michonne?) kind of thing. Like that’s dumb writing, short term plan-writing...why do the writers want to do the comic-Andrea’s death anyway? Or why not have Father Gabe or any moral compass character to die in 8x09. But I think the show can still work, IMO and that it doesn’t seem to be like destroying the show completely or disrespecting the show and character. (like omg twd fandom is so lucky and stuff. I know I have unpopular opinion but fans that give up ..like u guys are lucky in a way that you’re not alone and the media agrees. k. As a Neal fan in OUAT ..it was so shitty on how they did it and the majority didnt care. I guess it depends on a fan and any situation. Like with Star Wars TLJ-that I feel mad on what they did. But I’m still faithful to TWD so far.) But, IMO, I also feel that TWD show still works for me because it had two premises but one premise-Rick’s show is that is more where we are at and he’s still the main character. In the comics, Carl isnt a leader yet. The show’s ending soon sorta so..it’s all Rick’s show. I think even if Carl still lives in the show, I think it’s still Rick’s show just because how long the show is and I think soon the show will end. (Cast leaving, BTS drama stuff).

However with the whole death is like why did happened? sigh. it’s also like why the tv writers care about comic-Andrea’s death ..to add it. Idk. But Gimple wanted a good reason to add in the story of Negan not dying but prisoned and perhaps anything that grieving sad comic-Rick will make sense and to adapt from comics be about tv-Carl for tv-Rick (instead of tv-Michonne?). Well I just like the TV version better it makes it the war and sadness, more deserved when we see the “The New Beginning.” Comic-Andrea’s death didn’t change ..much storywise. idk.

Idk if it’s correct but Kirkman didn’t plan to do the time-jump at first. He wanted to show how ASZ and other communities rebuild and everyone being happy. But, Michonne is sad and that kind of story is like long and not dramatic ...so he just went for a timejump. (Michonne Telltale game). I guess I’m saying the tv show made the timejump mean something and more special like.

Another thing about how the show is like not ruined completely for me is because they respected Carl (hero of ASZ) and ..I think of the premise. I think it’s about Rick. It’s interesting so far imo that we see a plot of a father losing everything. (rare plot) I think the old premise works well with the new one. At first Rick wants to save his son, and now he’s making Carl’s dream real and be a better man for Carl.

Yeah i know it’s still sucky. Like why does the show keep killing major characters? idk. So if the show keeps sucking and all, I would just think TWD ended in s7 finale. S9 is gonna crazy. Huge change again. Kang as showrunner & Gimple chief..maybe she changes things up for the better, same, or worse. Idk maybe we’ll have a small main cast and stick with them like most shows do. Better dialouge and more interactions from our faves/ladies. idk.

Anyways, I still think the writing is done well or s4-8- as usual. (They can always be improved.) I really like how Carl’s death was like uplifting..hopeful like. But, yeah I’m still like why Carl? He’s the future the heart of the show..but ok..it’s Rick’s show.

sigh. I was confused why have the Kingdom group plot but OMG the ending. Wow idk what you call it. Parallels/contrasts between what Carl said about living and doing what’s right, with clips of Morgan going crazy to protect a/for a kid, to Henry doing what Carl was like in s3 in, killing Gavin. I’m wondering what will happen to Henry. Will he be featured more and have the ‘psycho killer’ comic-Carl parts or is he a character that pushes Morgan to be in FTWD(comic Michonne pirate arc, I think). Idk Henry got potential for future plots. If Henry becomes one of the recurring characters, he could be like “Carl 2.0″ but I mean he got that comic-Carl pyscho parts that I think tv-Carl doesn’t really have..he’s more like a better man ..more compassionate. idk. Ofc, we don’t care as much for Henry but, I think Carol and Henry might have some future plot later on.(like Michonne and Elodie?) idk. I miss Carick... Carol with Team family.

interesting post and comments. TNB arc may make the show interesting again for some fans. I am interested in after the timejump but who knows if different medium works well or not and how the writers do it. Plus other BTS changes too. so idk. I just wanna see everyone what they are like and they look like after the timejump. Also, this reminds me how ..well some annoying parts of the show may still continue..because of what Kirkman wrote and stuff. Like I think there’s more main characters separated far apart. etc.

uh basically, I think we just want to know what’s the endgame and feel sure when the show ends. Right now I feel like it’s hard to be faithful and excited about the show when the show is old, cast going away, BTS drama, and we don’t know the ending .. or what kind of ending. Story ending naturally or when AMC ends it with Negan and Daryl show. sigh.
