I have had the nicest people commenting on all my old bioshock fics recently and it is just so heartwarming and affirming like thank you and ily ily ily, I’m just feeling the love 😭💛🥰

#fun fact I kept trying to add an emoji to this post to properly convey my appreciative emotion #😭😭 <- this guy and a signature yella heart #but it kept rendering half the text of my post invisible and uninteractable #so just know that this app is a well formed product #you never cease dissapointing my tumblr #keep it sleazy #but anyway yes I’m filled with gratitude and whatnot #what’s up with this bioshock interest it’s gonna make me pick up the game again 🙊🙊#fully considered rereading the novel which like as a lover of bill mcdonagh that is nice but man oh man is it a trash bit of writing #one day I will bite John Shirley’s nose off in retribution #but also I was looking at the bioshock two art book (which yes I also own literally who else is it made for if not Me #bioshock 2’s biggest supporter/stan) and manzo did it make me wanna write about the middling days of rapture #the descent into splicerhood is an aspect I find super appealing #and like all of those early signs #bc plasmids didn’t immediately morph people into splicers it had to have been a gradual thing #and the time right after plasmids were put on the market and people #began to use them and began to see the slow mental and physical decline #that has so much writing potential #the slow slide into it #maybe it’s a fic about jasmine or Anna or some of those fort frolic people and we watch our narrator start to lose control over certain #thoughts or actions #or they wake up with a boil #I’m just saying it could be hella interesting and I’m thinking about writing bioshock fanfic again but don’t quote me on that #I’d need to reach out to the old ‘shock crew again #Dana and Molly know I love you always #okay that’s enough sap for one post back to blithely reposting bullshit like once a week #(but seriously talk to me about the initial onset of splicer symptoms #the societal shift at that time is so tense and juicy!#i love you minutia lol)#barefoot raps the news

random note about king on that animation, i got really lucky with how simple his animation was and how clean my sketches were to begin with that i was able to do very minimal cleanup on what i had sketched (and add back. his horn. it's supposed to take place just after echoes of the past, Oops) and call it done that way instead of having to redraw the entire thing like i had to on his dad

first sketch > line cleanup > nearly final animation (i'd added slight eye movements last-second but otherwise that's the final)

I AM NOT AN ANIMATOR I AM JUST A HOBBYIST...#i animate like once a year... shits hard man.... but apparently when i do animate. its extremely good :) proud of that #even if i have an extremely unhinged way of animating #i don't have an animation program i draw everything individually frame by frame in photoshop #each character had their own psd file with the same background and every frame was its own group. twice. one for sketch one for colors #i do test takes with gifcam (there are literally 55 WIP gifs in my documents folder rn) by switching between layers and taking a 'frame'#and i compile in blender's video editor and to move things separately i save each character's frame in its own .png 'cel'#so luz was her own 'cel'. king was his own 'cel.' etc. and then i have to manually slide the lengths of the frames around #to match the right framerate. traditionally animation is animated at 24 FPS on 2's - so 12 frames a second. i go on 3s. 4 to slow down #anime-ass framerate. i'm insane apparently but its what i like to do #i dont understand real animation programs they have too many pieces but i DO understand photoshop and my funny brushes #imagine having Digital Programs and Still basically doing ye olde traditional animation method just in the computer #if im Just making a gif then i only use gifcam and switch between layers. like digital stop motion. somethings wrong with me

Frank was looking at a Los Angeles icon, Dodger Stadium. It was his new home, his new team and hopefully his new life. He asked a security guard where to go and was met at the door by an assistant. She was a shameless flirt, commenting on Frank’s forearms and his tattoos, cooing about how good of a player he is. There was zero chance of Frank being interested. His Friday Night adventures were reserved for road trips only. His one-night stands worked out just fine, in his opinion.

As he was guided into the conference room, Frank was met with the president of operations, Nick Stanton. “Mr. Stanton.”

“Frank! Good to see you again.” He shakes hands with Frank. “We’re waiting for everyone so can I offer you a drink?” He gestures to Frank to sit at the table.

“Just a cola, thanks.” Frank took the seat next to the head of the table.

“How was the move?”

“Smoother than I thought it would be. Mary, my niece, threw a couple of tantrums but between me and my nanny, we managed to get her here.”

“Nanny?”

“Oh yeah, Scott, he’s great. He was willing to move with us, which is great since Mary seems to only listen to him.” Frank chuckles. “Who would listen to your uncle/pseudo father?”

“I remember that story,” Nick replies. “You are brave to take on a baby right after bring drafted.”

Frank shrugged. “Its not that big of a deal. You would do anything for family, especially Mary.”

More voices float towards the conference room and Frank stands as he sees his agent and lawyer walk in and shake his hand. Then the general manager for the Dodgers comes in, making small talk with Frank.

“Ok, I think we are just missing the team doctor and our legal team,” Nick tells everyone. “Its not Natasha, she’s busy with another client. She’s sending in their new associate.”

Frank just nods as the GM goes over the training schedule and when he would meet the team. The conference room door opens and Frank turns to see and his stomach drops. He feels himself become clammy and pale. Because this shouldn’t be happening.

Fuck.

He looks at the brunette that walked in.

she’s definitely not supposed to be here.

for the first time in my life, I’m looking at life after college. I looking at a future. Probably not past like 25 or smth, but a future nonetheless. I’ve always had a plan. I never saw myself getting old or getting to 18, never saw myself realistically going to college. But now it’s happening. It’s going to happen. My hope for the future is the only thing keeping me alive. I will survive to 25. I like that number. Then, I will reevaluate. Attempts are made in the heat of the moment, but I want to finally live. Not just survive. I can’t leave behind my stuffed animals, my future pets, my blankets I love, my books, my favorite poster, my monster high dolls. They’re the reason I’ve living. Not a single human being. I will live and finally be happy one day. And if not, I have a plan. But I hope I will be. The cvts keep the ache away for now, and it will get better. It has to.
