I’m a big fat ol dyke and I purposefully let that inform my art. when I draw nudes of comic book women or exaggerate their chests or generally impart a sense of desire in their poses, that’s me adding a piece of myself to my artwork. queer lens in art will always be subversive. i operate in a space where men think they have a monopoly over women’s sexuality, where these women are drawn to satisfy the male gaze and provide jackoff fodder. so it’ll never be comparable when I draw lewd pieces bc it’s coming from a completely opposite place. it’s liberating to me to have my taboo feelings reflected in my art.
basically I’m gonna draw Zatanna with massive honkers but it’ll be 10x sexier and more transformative than any male comic artist could ever do

So, for the ask game: 5, 14 and 15 maybe?
5. Anything you haven’t drawn yet but want to?
Another comic.. About a young girl who who meets a large, kind, wolf. The story has a beginning and and end, but I haven't figured out the middle yet. But when I do HEHEHE.... It's gonna be sad.
14. How has your art changed over the years?
Oh boy, it changed a LOT. I went from drawing nearly exclusively edgy anime boys in middle and high school, to completely ditching anime but still drawing characters all the time, to actually drawing environments more than people.
My style changed a lot too. I think today I draw in a much more graphic, illustrative style. Kind of european comics inspired. Compared to my old thinking of "it's only good if it looks like the art on magic the gathering cards" (which it never did). I often just use one (two if I'm filling fancy!) additional colour, rather than fully colouring every artwork. Truth is, many of my illustrations don't actually need colour! There's so much more WHITE (or blank paper) on my art now, and I use it in much smarter ways. It actually adds to the composition now, rather than just be space I didn't bother filling out.
If you fancy a trip down memory lane, scroll all the way down on my instagram, or my art blog down to my pre uni days. it's different.
15. Biggest artist pet peeve?
You're adding too many details with your white gel pen, and it's making things look shiny that aren't supposed to be. You're buying art supplies with cute packaging that are garbage in quality (looking at you Himi Jelly Guache!). The same white girl with vacant expression on a blank background does not evoke as deep of a meaning as you think it does. You say your nude photographs don't come from a place of sexualising your subject, yet you photograph exclusively young skinny women (r/analog....). Shirts don't fold in between boobs like that. You're adding too many labels to your political cartoon. I can tell the person is being used as bait, because they're hanging from the end of a hook. No need to write "bait" on them in addition.
I'm gonna stop here before I make this post a mile long...

gojo’s service to an artist
warnings: male masturbation, edging, exhibitionism (??), dom!reader, artist!reader, sub!gojo, model!gojo
word count: 3.1k
summary: college student gojo satoru is notorious for having a fuck list, thanks to the dares of his friends. when your name was dropped on the list, gojo offered to be your model for your art piece. however, his plan backfired when he found himself desperately fucking your hand.
note: this is heavily inspired by a manga i read called Nude Model by Yamaguchi Tsubasa. go give it a read! don’t got time to proofread this because it’s too long : ( anyway, smut with a plot, ey? also, i think i’m too mean to gojo ♡
෴♡෴ ෴♡෴
DO NOT COPY THIS WORK. THIS IS ONLY AVAILABLE IN TUMBLR. PLEASE NOTIFY ME IMMEDIATELY IF YOU HAVE READ THIS ON ANOTHER WEBSITE.
Just from hearing his name, two reactions are possible: women scowling in disgust or men patting his back as congratulations. With all of his alluring looks and sultry smiles, Gojo Satoru was famous in your academy for having a list of people he fucked, all thanks to his friends. What does he gain aside from pleasure? Reputation. It doesn’t matter if it’s good or bad. What mattered to him was that people knew him whenever he walked down the hallways and volunteered to submit the papers of your class to the professors. He made sure that his name would constantly escape everyone’s lips. To you, Gojo Satoru was, simply, an attention whore.
This is why you weren’t even surprised when you heard a sudden bang behind you. Without turning, you knew it was him opening the door and entering shamelessly. He comes in almost every day, making sure to leave reminders, may it be insulting your artworks or subtle touching your shoulders. He does this even though you reciprocate his advances with a blank look on your face, clearly showing your disinterestedness. You knew why he was always there. Gojo and his friends made a bet, and it involved you.
“I’m sorry I’m late. Did you miss me?” Gojo asked as he walked to your side. You paid him no attention as you picked up a particular pencil for the shade you want to make. “Not a landscape today? Are you finally gonna make something that actually looks good?” You kept your mouth shut.
Gojo pouted and began roaming the room, looking for god-knows-what.
“I don’t understand how this is supposed to be art. It looked like you just splashed random colors.” You frowned in annoyance when you heard things cluttering behind you.
“Oh my, y/n. I didn’t know you’re a fan of adult magazines.” You gritted your teeth, feeling your bar for annoyance filling up. Gojo continued, “Do you get off with this when you’re bored?”
You stilled your hand and turned towards him. The last thing you wanted was rumors going around with you owning a porn magazine and masturbating on it in a spare room.
“I don’t have a model, so I’m using them as a reference.” Without missing a beat, Gojo gasped dramatically. You realized you gave him an opportunity, making you curse in your head.
“I can model for you! For free unless you want to pay for my services, of course.” He grinned, wiggling his eyebrows.
“I don’t need—” You sighed, but Gojo was already taking off his shirt. You averted your eyes. “You don’t have to take off your clothes.”
You heard him snicker. “Too late!”
You groaned inwardly, cursing at yourself for taking his bait. I shouldn’t have answered him, you thought. Rumors might be better than this. Rumors will eventually die down, but this... this will be forever burned in your mind. The beautiful dickhead, Gojo, naked and posing for you.
“Done! What pose should I do?” Looking up from your canvas, you saw Gojo sitting down on a table, wholly and utterly butt naked.
“Whatever you find comfortable.”
You’re used to seeing naked people in paintings and statues. You visit a lot of museums to gain inspiration for your works. However, nothing beats the nudity that Gojo displayed. His arms and thighs were toned, imitating the muscles you often saw on Greek sculptures. Firm pecs and abdomen presented themselves for you. You took note of some softness on his hips. You were sure that the texture would be similar to how sculptors make clothes look smooth if you gripped them. Hard but smooth. Firm but soft. And when you glanced at his face, you’re rewarded by a sly grin and pink cheeks. He’s confident but also embarrassed. You concluded then that Gojo Satoru is full of contradictions.
You didn’t comment, though. Gojo is beautiful, sure, but you weren’t going to give him the satisfaction of your admiration. Instead, you picked your pencils and charcoal and started to trace his figure. He was leaning back on his arm with his legs folded on his chest. You didn’t know where he had the idea, but it was enough. It took you several minutes to entirely create his body. The session included your constant glances at him then turning back to your canvas. Sometimes, you would hear him release a shaky breath which made you want to offer him a break, but the reflections in his eyes were clear, so you bit your tongue and continued. Minutes later, you saw his legs shaking while you were adding shades and tiny details. Still, you were reminded of his look earlier, so you didn’t comment.
Eventually, Gojo let out a small whine almost lost in the wind if not for your keen ear. You lifted your eyes to see him panting with his eyes closed. The area of his chest and neck, which paralleled the color of his hair, had turned reddish. Flushed cheeks were puffing as he huffed. You were done with your piece, but you didn’t voice it out. Feeling a sudden rush of heat, you tilted your head. The view you’re seeing was very, very different from earlier. His confident grin was gone, replaced with an opened mouth.
An idea occurred to you. Biting your lips, you stood up from the stool and grabbed Gojo’s clothes without him noticing. You crouched near his ear and whispered.
“Tired already?”
Surprised, Gojo yelped, eyes opening wide as he tried to sit up correctly, but you circled your arm on his shoulder, stilling his movement. The angle made him lean on your chest with his head beside yours. Slowly, you brushed your lips to his ear, evoking a shaky breath from him.
“You’re so rude, Gojo. You offered your help, but why do I feel like I’m being taken advantage of?”
Before he could say anything, you stood up and threw his clothes to his lap. You made sure not to look between his thighs as you finally smiled at him. He stood shakily, using his clothes to cover his crotch, but you were already aware of his situation.
“Thanks for your service, pretty boy. You can leave now.”
Gojo didn’t get what he came for, so you were sure that he would come back. Days later, he did. And like the usual, you didn’t acknowledge his presence, daring him to speak first.
“I hope you didn’t use my body as masturbation material.”
You hid a smile, knowing that the reason why it took him days to come back was because he’s wondering how to approach you again. And what he came up with was his usual lines, insulting and perverted. You answered him, giving in to his words.
“I’d rather use my magazines.”
He scoffed. “We both know that’s a lie.” He walked towards you, looking at your canvas with his hands on his hips.
“You’re doing abstract?” You shook your head. “Then I’ll model again. You’re so lucky; you should feel privileged.” His visit, this time, you noticed, was filled with a sense of desperation. His friends must have had teased him, you thought. They were probably telling him to hurry up.
“Though this time, I want you to pay attention to me, y/n.” You raised an eyebrow at this, surprised at his order.
“Should I?” You challenged.
“Look at me while I undress,” he purred, lifting his shirt off his head. He took his time taking off his belt, black trousers, and boxers. Within a minute or two, Gojo was standing in front of you, naked. This time, you didn’t avert your eyes. You stared at his body, taking note of the curves and edges. Your eyes trailed down and stayed. Your gaze felt heavy on his frame that he couldn’t help the chill that crawled down his spine.
Suddenly, Gojo cursed, curling his body. “Wait. T-this is. It shouldn’t...” he trailed off.
You didn’t let the opportunity slip by. Gojo was showing his vulnerability, and you grabbed it, not letting go. You leaned towards him.
“Stand up straight and look at me. I thought you said to pay attention to you.” You demanded while Gojo stuttered.
“Wait. Just...w-wait for a minute.”
“If you can’t do this, leave.” You were bluffing, of course. No way in hell were you going to let him leave now, not after you waited for a few days for him to return, not after you longed to see him blushing with a raging boner.
You expected him to leave but were surprised when he pulled your arm and pulled you to the floor with him sitting on your stomach. Your back hit the wooden floor, and you grimaced at its coldness. Shivers touched your skin by the expression he wore as he looked at you. His pale eyelashes shadowed his eyes, making him look drunk on...on whatever it was that he wanted. His mouth opened a bit when he panted, hands holding your shoulders down.
“You’re so mean, y/n,” he whined.
“You don’t seem to mind.”
“C-can’t you help me out?”
You tilted your head to the side.
When his friends suggested your name, Gojo Satoru thought that this was going to be easy. You were the kind of girl that everybody thought was quiet, prim, and proper. You were always appropriately dressed in your uniforms, without a hint of crease and stains. Always too good in art courses than the others. When his friends bet your name on that list, Gojo found himself wondering how to seduce someone who preferred to be coated in paints than to make talk to other people. However, this was far from what he imagined.
“Of course, I could. You even helped me out from pure kindness, right? So I should repay that but honestly, Gojo...” Letting out a small smile, you said, “First, I wanna see a good show.”
He immediately understood what you were insinuating. He sighed shakily, biting his lips, contemplating. He could easily persuade you, no, seduce you, but for some reason, he found himself wanting to be at your mercy. So he did what he does best. He leaned back, hands on your thighs, bashfully displaying himself.
“Isn’t this worthy of a show?” He glanced down his stomach and looked up to see you staring at his face.
“That’s not the show I wanna see.”
Gojo huffed. “Fine, but after this, you gotta let me...”
You raised an eyebrow. “Let you what?”
“F-fuck your p-pu—” Whatever he was planning to say died in his mouth, replaced with cheeks burning in embarrassment. You felt the urge to smile but held it down. Cute. “I-I’ll start now.”
“No need to tell me.” For good measure, you snickered, causing his cheeks to become even redder.
With shaking hands, he gripped his dick. You can’t really say if it’s big due to your inexperience in this field, but you could say that it was thick; girthy is the right word for it. The head was leaking with precum, and of course, you decided to tease him about it.
“Aw look at that. Your dick is weeping. Are you that desperate to fuck me? I bet you’ll look the same later.”
Gojo whined.
“Go faster.” And he did, his hands stroking fast, never missing an inch. As much as you’d like to focus on his hands as he jerked himself on top of you, you know what really mattered was his reactions. Gojo wasn’t even trying to hide his moans. His mouth seemed permanently open, groans and moans slipping freely. His eyebrows scrunched up in concentration to make himself cum. When he started moving his hips towards his hands, you knew he was close to cumming.
“Stop.” He jerked from your voice and frowned but didn’t stop. “If you’re not going to listen, then leave.”
“N-no. I’m s-so close!” Gojo let out a broken sob. You patted his quivering thighs, and he stilled his hands. Panting, he groaned.
“Tell me, Gojo. Did modeling for me turned you on?”
Slowly, Gojo’s breathing became even as he registered your words. Nodding, he said, “I-I liked having your attention.”
“Really? Do you always get off to people watching you touch yourself?”
“Does that matter n-now? I gave you your show, so what now?”
“Oh, Gojo. But I said a good show.” You smiled. “Do it again.”
Gojo Satoru, ever the attention whore, jerked himself off again. And again. And again. He didn’t even realize that you were edging him without even touching him. His pale face became sweaty and red. His luscious hair stuck on his forehead from sweat. His lips were red from constantly biting them. But what changed the most after repeatedly telling him to stop and go again was his eyes. Moans became breathy and desperate. Groans turned to sobs. His usual clear and sultry eyes became dilated, unfocused, and brimming with hot tears.
“Are you gonna cum?”
He shook his head no while continuously fucking his hands. By his uneven breathing, you knew he was lying, so you told him to stop. What were you doing? But of course, seeing how long it takes to break Gojo Satoru. And because you’re counting, this was the sixth one, if he would follow your instruction.
Gojo, such an attention whore, always looking for validation, seeking appreciation, let go of his red dick. When he did, he cried out, annoyed and desperate.
“I-I can’t. It h-hurts. Please.” Sobbing, he stared at you, eyes begging, longing. He was deprived of his long-awaited orgasm that it started to get to his head. It didn’t matter anymore if he looked disgusting with his tears and drool mixing; he wanted to cum; he needed to cum. He’s getting desperate to please you just so he can have your permission.
You studied his face.
“Get up.” His face lighted up in excitement. Finally, finally, you were allowing him to fuck you. With shaky legs, he stood up, followed by you. Dusting off your clothes, you sat down on the stool before your canvas.
“Now, Gojo. Why don’t you pose for me?”
He hated it. He hated this. They made a mistake for picking you. You weren’t quiet or proper; you were cruel and mean. You enjoyed seeing his face crumble when you denied him again. His chin trembled. When he sat down on top of the table, he was already crying, snot falling from his nose. Broken sobs escaped his lips, and you compared his face to the state of his neglected dick.
Minutes later, you were humming as you drew him. His posture, this time, showed his throbbing dick, and you outlined it on your canvas with all of your heart. Next was the details of his face. Poor, poor Gojo. His face was all scrunched up, rewarding you with a mess of blushing wet cheeks and red crying eyes. Several minutes later, you saw his dick leaking so much precum while he calls out for you, begging for your undivided attention. You paid him no mind as you finished the last touches of your artwork. Standing up, ignoring the sudden cry of happiness in front of you, you stared at your work. The usual cocky, seductive, and alluring Gojo Satoru was drawn into a disgusting, desperate mess, begging for your attention, begging for you.
“Gojo, you did so, so well.” You walked towards him, and he opened his arms to beckon you closer. When you were in arms reach, he pulled you in and kissed you. There was nothing beautiful about it. His kiss was hot, dirty, and chaotic, fueled by his desperation. Shamelessly, he started rutting against your hips. You moaned against his lips, tangling your hand against the hair on the back of his head.
“Does this mean I can finally fuck you?”
You tutted, shaking your head. “Baby, do you honestly think I’ll let you add me on your great fuck list? Of course not.” You smiled innocently. “But because you did so well for me, you get to fuck my hand. Aren’t I so kind?”
Gojo buried his head on your neck as you felt his tears fell on your skin. “And you know what, Satoru? You’re gonna thank me for it.” With that, you brushed your hand down his chest and stroked his dick, pleased when you heard him hiss.
Your pace was slow, making Gojo’s mind numb. He needed more, and because he knew you weren’t going to give him that, he started thrusting in your hand. Surprised by his actions, you laughed right on his flushed ears. You decided to help him on his desperate attempt by licking the inside of his ear while your other hand tweaked his stiff nipples. Gojo made a noise between a moan and a whine.
“Does it feel good?” But Gojo was already lost to the feeling between his thighs, moans slipping past his lips. You bit his neck, eliciting a cry from him. His hips continuously met your hand, repeatedly fucking himself on your hand.
 “Answer me.”
“Y-yes! So good, so good. I can’t. P-please.” His mouth opened, grunting. Drool laid on your shoulder.
“Want me to stop?”
Gojo gripped your shoulders, shaking. “No! Please, please, no!”
“Then what do you say?”
“Thank you, thank you, thankyouthankyou.” Gojo’s whole body trembled while whispering the words thank you. “C-close. ‘M gonna cum, y’n.”
You placed a kiss on his shoulder, “Cum for me, Satoru.”
When he did, his body shook with intensity while he cried out, moaning. His grip on your shoulder hurt, but it was nothing compared to the expression he was giving you. You felt him spill all over your hand while he slowed his thrusts. Moments later, Gojo was left panting, slumped over your body.
“Good boy,” you whispered, caressing his hair with your other hand.
When he whimpered, Gojo understood his position with you now. He failed to add you to the list. His friends will probably shame him for that, but that was far from what he was thinking at the moment. Thinking back, maybe it was you who was seducing him. Faking your indifference whenever he visits and when he proposed to be your model, you were already planning this.
Astonished, Gojo pulled back from you.
“Y-you—”
A mean grin split your face. The innocence was gone in your face, replaced by a wicked glint in your eyes. Grabbing the back of Gojo’s neck, you pulled him into a sloppy kiss, drawing out a moan from Gojo’s mouth.
“I still need one more reference for my work. I expect you to come by again tomorrow?”
With a nod, Gojo fell for your trap, always pursuing your attention. Gojo was finally your attention whore, and it seemed like Gojo finally understood art because he found himself seeking you every single day.

I saw Atomic Blonde (2017) via Redbox this morn with a roommate. Quick thoughts about it. SPOILERS obviously.
Charlize Theron trained exceptionally hard to be the titular Lorraine Broughton. This was in fact a passion project for her. Her performance is top-notch. The action sequences she's in are stunning. Brutal. Inventive. Sometimes oddly beautiful. Musician/composer Tyler Bates adds yet another impressive score to his resume! Wowzers. The songs for the soundtrack are fantastic. They accompany memorable action sequences and a couple of good quieter moments.
But...
Atomic Blonde stars Charlize Theron as a spy in 1989 from a 2012 graphic novel (The Coldest City) written by a man (Antony Johnson) with artwork by a man (Sam Hart) with a screenplay penned by a man (Kurt Johnstad) with a director that is a man (John Wick originally uncredited co-director David Leitch, Atomic Blonde is his solo directing debut, he is attached to 2018's Deadpool 2 as director). Which explains a lot. *Sighs*
Her first appearance is in a bathtub so we can observe her battered bruised body, yet it continues by having her still nude form get out to have a drink and light a cigarette while standing in front of a mirror. At first, it didn't feel salacious then towards the end of the scene it did. Later on, in the protagonist's second totally needed (coughs) ice bath, the camera perspective comes off as completely gratuitous. Her contact James Percival (James McAvoy) is shown in bed with two topless women as a blanket hides his own genitalia: it is implied that the night before is why he's running late.
And during Lorraine's mission, in a nod to my least favorite stuff from James Bond films, she has sex with a French woman named Delphine Lasalle (Sofia Boutella, Gazelle from 2014's Kingsmen: The Secret Service, Princess Ahmanet in 2017's The Mummy) to solely gain information from her. Initially, at least.
However, this part feels passionate. Real. Not a means to solely an end like Lorraine tells Delphine. That was my takeaway.
Earlier, the agent James Gascoigne that was killed appeared to have a physical relationship with Lorraine. Anyways, this indicates that Lorraine is likely bisexual! Which the movie doesn't make a big deal about and that is why it is noteworthy.
Better than declarations from Deadpool's director Tim Miller and Ryan Reynolds that their lead is comic book accurate pansexual as his goal involves reconnecting romantically with Vanessa after securing the cure from Francis. The lyrics of his rap theme song Teamheadkick wrote heard in the flick reinforce his heterosexuality that promised to be more too. Yes, I remain livid about this.
“Hey goons, thugs and bosses, Guess what, I brought Colossus! Times up, better count your losses, Kickin' that ass as my girlfriend watches. Run away, you know that I'll chase, Every bad guy, but 'em right in their place, Revenge, I'm gonna give you a taste, I'm sexy as hell, but I cover my face.
About to take you all to school, with guns and knives, Deadpool... Tellin' jokes and breaking the rules, I came for the tacos. Deadpool... Playin' with the ladies and the family jewels to bust a nut, Deadpool.... 'Bout to throw down with all these fools, So come an' get some. Regenerate, because it's cool, When I fall off a ledge, Deadpool... The crazy ass guards all lookin' to duel, So click, click, boom! Deadpool... I don't believe in the golden rule, I came to get laid. Deadpool... Note to the ladies, I'm not a tool, I'm a sexy motherfucker.”  2016's Deadpool was written and directed by heterosexual men. No one remotely close to the representation Wade Wilson was meant to embody was clearly involved in the movie's creation. Even though they claimed Wade Wilson would be done right this time around.
Lorraine's spoken words of "You didn't have to kill her..." is a sentiment I too shared since, yep, Delphine, a LGBT woman of color and the only other prominent woman in the narrative, is of course killed. You took a positive and wrecked it y’all. Ugh! She manages to fight back then we’re forced to view her slowly being choked to death before Lorraine can arrive in time. It was heartrending to observe...
Said decision is likely another James Bondian callback. How most of the women James uses tend to die. For instance, there’s the golden dead body of Pussy Galore that was on several damn movie posters for Goldfinger (1964), Sean Connery’s debut as James Bond. It is on the Wikipedia for the flipping motion picture! Contessa Teresa “Tracy” di Vicenzo (Dame Enid Diana Elizabeth Rigg), a woman Roger Moore’s 007 marries in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969) is murdered in the closing moments by Blofield and Bunt. 2006′s Casino Royale starring Daniel Craig’s Bond does this infuriatingly twice: once with Solange Dimitrios (Caterina Murino) and again towards the conclusion with Vesper Lynd (Eva Green). Additionally, this specific choice to remove Delphine in Atomic Blonde through this method painfully and angrily occurs often with both women and LGBT characters in the majority of media already.
Still, this echoes what actor Michelle Rodriguez said a few years ago about women in motion picture roles. I am paraphrasing what Michelle declared. Specifically how there needs to be more women in director and writing positions. How men emphasize making women sexy via outfits versus wearing practical clothing (Lorraine's heels, some of Lorraine's strange attire choices that wouldn’t work that well for fighting). There’s a line about what Lorraine should bloody wear to meet the Queen. As a juxtaposition, there’s a scene in the 1979 James Bond flick Moonraker in which he meets Her Majesty in the nude. *Rolls eyes* How the majority telling and orchestrating stories remain largely white men and they essentially write women as a love interest (or with someone) or they slay them during the story. There is a real imbalance in Hollywood regarding this. This has unfortunately infected Atomic Blonde.
Besides Lorraine and Delphine, there's the aforementioned topless nameless women and one other woman in the tale being told. The remainder are exclusively men. James even mocks women in one really aggravating scene that takes place!
What makes everything worse is that we've had women in similar action film roles done more justice. Less sexualized. Glamourized. Such as Beatrix Kiddo. Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games series. Judge Cassandra Anderson from 2012's Dredd. Ellen Ripley from Alien and Aliens. Heck, even Charlize Theron's own Imperator Furiosa in 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road! To list a few examples. It is true that the films they were in had men write their characters. Although in the case of Beatrix Kiddo a.k.a The Bride, she was created by both Uma Thurman and Kill Bill Vols. 1 and 2 director/writer Quentin Tarantino.
On top of that Atomic Blonde’s pacing isn't great. I actually realized my eyes were getting heavy despite being wide awake at the start. The dialogue is functional or blase, at best (”You can’t un-fuck what’s been fucked”). Nada quote worthy. Boasts an uninteresting villain: I didn’t even include the character’s picture above because said individual is such a snore. The writing tries to be too clever at points and is ultimately confusing when all is said and done. My verdict is that Charlize Theron's transfixing acting and sterling action work alone cannot save Atomic Blonde. Neither can its presented aesthetic nor tone.
Atomic Blonde, is worth a rental, basically.
P.S. The soundtrack and score, as I typed earlier, are SUPERB. I don’t wish to spoil anything else about either. Give both a listen sometime.

Feminism in art
How are the women depicted
•Passive submissive
•Not making decisions
•Pale
•Mary cause of the blue
•Women are crying and helping
•Men are very active
•Women sitting crying
•Withdrawn
•Not making contribution
•Women not taking part in the narrative
Naked or nude. Not nude is a beautiful way, she’s a beautiful women, idealised, no lumpy bits. Men are all taller than her.
The fact that there are so many points on how women are depicted shows how women are represented in the art world compared to men. I am very passionate about this topic as I feel the feminist art movement should have more publicity and representation.
Artists that feature the “male gaze”.
MALE GAZE - “a fake representation and objectification of women is made, usually from a heterosexual perspective known as “the male gaze”, which is a disparate power between men and a gazed-upon women,  the attitude towards women and  the way the female body is exhibited not only displays male dominance throughout the centuries in general but also in the art world; this has created an industry that enables women to be wrongly depicted and the feminist art movement continues to challenge this immense issue, as it is still ongoing”- Vicky Iddon.

Second wave feminism
This was a way of women saying they wanted controls of their sexuality, imagine and who looks at them.
Carolee schneemann
Stood naked on a table, painted body with mud, then slowly extracted a paper scroll from her vagina and read from the scroll (from a film she had started making about women) 4 documented phots of the performance. Put on them, urine, beetroot. To create stains.
•Her work is provocative
•Filmed herself having sex
•Challenged modernism
•Was her body and she could do what she wanted
•Very in your face work
I have done my own personal research in this artist, as I found her method of art fascinating, it was totally new in the 1960s and completely separated her from anyone else.
Intersectionality
Tumblr media
Coloured people had no power. 1970s. And we’re largely discriminated against. These are some female artists who challenged this
Emma Amos
African America artist in the 70s
Sandy and her husband - periphery of society, racial discrimination, iconographical reading!
Ana mendieta
does a males beard give me the same feeling as a man, the power?
Sofonisba anguissola
Massive success as a painter
Did what she wanted, lived her life on her own terms.
The chess game 1555 - depicted? They look happy, suggests intelligence. Men would usually play chess. Women of intellect, engaged in something that rigorous, mother in the back looking in pride.
In another painting she did she depicted herself as an artist even though a male is in the painting holding the paint brush, she is larger than him, presenting herself as more importance (1558)
Sonia Boyce 1986
Pastel on paper
Looks at memory and the dynamic of space and for you to be drawn into the piece
Examining her part of the identity of the family who is black and British. How she is holding them up, strong arms? Shows she feels like she can do it.
Wearing a deep red dress eluding to the expression of the painting and the English rose how she must be part of the stereotype.
Greek mythology? Represent Atlas , emotional weight, holding her family, feels very connected to her family but also distant due to the distance.
Lastly, women are still completely oversexualised in modern day! Especially in adverts.
Adverts:
•Mustang car 1967 - women all like pink?
Women are always sexualised in male perfume adverts and are lower then the men and looks submissive however in the women’s perfume the women is higher than the man, she’s more powerful and in control.
•Tom Ford - the women is fully naked, could be seen as funny, the female nipple is covered even though she is completely naked.
•American apparel - Done ironically even though they are technically offensive, always sexualising women. Publicity.
Power dynamic - women are men’s possessions. All about the male gaze.
•Calvin kleins jeans advert - women surrounded by topless men, looks like a gang rape... feels hostile, the colour red represents danger.
In conclusion, there is so much when it comes to feminism in the art world that needs to be considered, and so many artists from the 19th century to now. Women have taken power over themselves however it’s very clear that they are still being depicted just not as clearly in modern day.

Exhibition Review
Linda Louise McCartney.
Tumblr media
Born in Scarsdale, New York, on 24th September 1941. She graduated from Scarsdale High School in Westchester County, New York in 1960 and went on to study Art History at the University of Arizona.
She has only attended photography night classes and after being told she has “a good eye for the pictures” she decided that’s all she needs and moved on to photography. Without much knowledge of any of the techniques and experience with a camera, she had managed to do a photo shoot with Rolling Stones on Hudson River as she used an unwanted invitation for Rolling Stones promotional party. She was chosen from hundreds of photographers and she was hoping for the best. After the photoshoot, Linda got her first big break as her work got published in an Editorial feature- her first of many magazine commissions.
Linda became a professional photographer in the mid-sixties. Her photography focused on the music revolution of the decade. While working at the Fillmore East in New York City she photographed lots of famous musicians including; The Rolling Stones, Frank Zappa, The Kinks and many more. Later on, she has also begun shooting self-portraits and family shoots with her husband Paul McCartney and their four kids, Heather, Mary, Stella, and James.
Tumblr media
Heather and Javelina - Arizona 1997 Colour C-type print.
Above print has been taken in 1997 in Arizona. I personally think Linda has shot this in medium format. Even though Linda shoots more in film she has effectively managed to shoot in colour too. She has taken the picture either during a sunset or a sunrise and she has taken advantage of the lighting she had available. Because of the lighting she had, there’s a lot of warm tones within the picture and set up a positive mood. The picture also doesn't look like it was planned however Linda was known for having a good eye for framing make this image even more successful. Linda also decided to take this picture of Heather as it would be one of many memories she would have of her child and also she’s her first daughter from the first marriage which would suggest she means a lot to Linda. While Heather is sitting in the bottom left corner the Javelina in the middle makes eye contact with Heather also creating some tension in the image as we don't exactly know what is the Javelina gonna do next. Javelina in the middle also brings our attention to Heather sitting in the corner because she’s directly staring at her. Immediately the viewer wants to know what the animal is looking at. This picture is a Colour C-type print which is quite common for Linda. Above picture has also been taken a year before Linda’s death which shows she didn't waste a minute spending time with her loved ones doing what she love’s the most.
Francesca Stern Woodman
Tumblr media
Born on April 3, 1958, was an American photographer born in Denver, Colorado to artists George Woodman and Betty Woodman. She has started her journey with photography at a young age of thirteen and she continued with it until she died at a young age of 22. In 1972 She has attended a private Massachusetts boarding school where she has been further developing her photographic skills. Francesca is best known for her black and white pictures featuring either herself or female models often nude in empty interiors which show a lot of intimacy and can be seen as quite controversial and abstract. Within her pictures, she’s often hidden behind object’s and furniture which convey an underlying sense of human fragility. Many of her photographs show women, naked or clothed, blurred due to movement and long exposure times, merging with their surroundings, or whose faces are obscured.
Tumblr media
Untitled, from Eel Series, Venice, Italy 1978  gelatin silver print on paper
The image above is a self-portrait of Francesca Woodman taken in Italy 1978 from her Eel Series. Just slightly off-centre there’s a white bowl lying on the textured background floor. This immediately creates contrast and separation between the floor and the bowl. To the right, we can see Woodman with her face down, naked, in a vulnerable state curving around the bowl similar to the Eel in the bowl. Using her arm she has effectively framed the bowl in the centre of the image making it the focal point.  Her outstretched arm is blurred as though in movement, and, like her legs, is largely in shadow, where on the other hand her naked back catches soft light that falls on her. Within her picture’s Francesca has great use of natural lighting which she can manipulate effectively to suit her style. This photograph was created  during the time that Woodman spent studying abroad with the Rhode Island School of Design. Her roommate and close friend Sloan Rankin wrote: “I remember carrying bags of live eels with Woodman across Rome from Piazza Vittoria in preparation for what would become Woodman’s Eel Series”. While studying in Rome she has come into contact with the “Symbolist work of Max Klinger,” whose influence can be seen in this series. This picture has also been taken one year before Francesca’s death. She has killed herself at the age of 22. Within her picture’s you can see how lost she was and how depression has also affected her work.
This image was processed on a gelatin silver print on paper which was and still is a popular photographic process available for the black and white film.  Although Woodman used different cameras and film formats during her career, most of her photographs were taken with medium format cameras producing 2-1/4 by 2-1/4 inch (6x6 cm) square negatives.
Personally, I prefer Francesca Woodman’s work as I feel like I can connect more with it and it’s a style that I find intriguing, however, both photographer’s have amazing style’s and also use amazing techniques within their picture’s

Here is some more work that we displayed at our recent exhibit in L.A. on May 27! Artists listed in the order they appear in this post.  Ellen Schinderman, Mending “Most of my work deals with the nude female form, so it feels disingenuous to me to create self-portraits of myself clothed, so I expose myself as I do others.” Ellen Schinderman, Tracy “My text ladies explore the female form by using lines made up of tiny text taken from feminist writings--they allow me to explore both women's words and our concept of ideals and bodies.“ Lindsay O’Brien, You’re Gonna Carry That Weight “Coping, and thriving, with mental illness is possible for me in this lifetime through cycling through therapists to find the right fit, trial and error cocktails of medication with a host of unique side effects, insurance paperwork, and many days of fighting to stay convinced that it is worth it to keep working. It is also made possible through creating art, being vulnerable with people I love and my community, and continually learning to let myself accept I am deserving of seeing beauty in this world.” Kate Just, Feminist Fan #31 (Tracey Emin, My Bed, 1998) “The series Feminist Fan is a three year project in which I hand knit homages to feminist artist and artworks that have been significant to me as an artist. Each work explores the featured artist's use of textiles as a powerful and transgressive force. Feminist Fan #31 reinterprets in wool the infamous work by acclaimed British artist Tracey Emin entitled My Bed, 1998. The work was a finalist in the Turner Prize in 1999 and featured the artist's bed and surrounds littered with associated ephemera including playing cards, stockings, stuffed toys, bottles of empty vodka and packets of cigarettes.Inspired by a depressive period in which the artist stayed in bed sleeping and drinking for days, My Bed bravely monumentalizes the artist's emotional struggles with life, sexuality and art. Challenged by some critics that claimed anyone could make this work, Emin countered, 'Well they didn't, did they?'Tracey Emin I'm your feminist fan!“
Sabrina Zarco, Racism is a Weapon, 2011 Photo credit: Hueso Productions, Baja CA “As a Chicana queer autistic artist/activist I use art as a healing tool when working with communities to build bridges of intersectional learning. Sometimes the curandera needs to heal herself. This work was a way to heal the small constant wounds of those who didn’t see their bigotry towards me as harmful. I worked as a cross cultural workshop facilitator for years. These phrases are a sampling of the most popular quotes spoken to me while in this particular job. I use the embroidery process as medicine. The guerreras that came before me used fabric to to express themselves making clothing, bed quilts, and embroidery dish towels. I use these same women’s work’s methods to share marginalized stories, build bridges, and facilitate community dialog.”
Sabrina Zarco, Voices of Color, 2017  Photo credit: Hueso Productions, Baja CA “As an artivist (artist and activist) I document the voices and stories of marginalized communities often over looked by main stream media. This work documents hashtags, signs from marches, education, protector, and visibility events held by people of color from November 2016 through March 2017.”
Sabrina Zarco, Dirty Laundry in the U. S., 2012 Photo credit: Hueso Productions, Baja CA “Hate crimes in the U.S. often go unreported or realized. This work identifies the most targeted groups in the U.S. and what constitutes a hate crime according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. As a whole the U. S. has looked past these intersections of marginalized communities where most crimes take place. Its time to “air the dirty laundry” and address hate crimes at all levels.“

Hanecdote, Arthur Meme, 2017 I spent about 15 hours stitching this feminist art meme..."I [had] seen some hilarious examples of it [the Arthur meme], and wanted to put my spin on it. I saw @adamtots version which he redrew, and that inspired me to come up with an embroidered version.

FFXV: Promptis College AU
Noctis finds himself falling for a new model at his art class...
The Prince grumbled, trying to focus on his art. Noct ran his hand through dark streaks of black, thick along his scalp. He continued to stroke and paint with his brush, staring intesensly trying to figure out what was wrong exactly.
When all hope faded, the airy words of his menor Ignis made him focus once more, "Your linework is good, but you still need to focus on some of your overall composition prince. As always, excellent job on the shading. Keep up the good work miss Lunafreya. Loqi...please enough placing the oranges between the banana."
This was one of the classes his father had demanded he participate in-fine arts. But after weeks of studying color theory and practicing brush strokes he was in dire need of something fresh. He stared at the other student's works, all had placed focus on things like shape and sizing of the fruit bowl before them. But Noctis was heavily obsessed with the shading, he loved to work with the light and dark.
His closest friend, Lunafreya, peeked over her shoulder at his artwork. Her near-white hair sparkled in the sunlight. She clicked her tongue to get his attention. She smiled gently, "It looks vey good Noctis."
"Thanks Luna." She was always giving him confidence boosts when he needed them the most. He puffed out his chest.
Ignis clapped loudly as the class became quiet again, making them all jump slightly. "Alright class. I have exciting and unexpected news! The King has found us a nude model, a male by the name of Prompto Argentum. He's been hand-picked out of a group, so be sure to treat him nicely. I do not want inappropriate laughter or prodding. He is our guest, understand?"
They all nodded. Beyond Loqi at times, Noct was unsure why Ignis was making a point of something so obvious...but a flare of inspiration caught in his heart. He had heard rumors of classes before him having naked men and women grace their prescence, taking only a few seconds to sketch them in different poses. The latest one from the semester prior had been an extremely busty woman by the name of Aranea, a few of the seniors were snickering about the size of her bust.
Noctis began to clean his supplies as the minutes began to wind down in class, placing a proper sketch pad on his work space. His mind lazily drifted, trying to picture a face with the name Prompto. He had never heard of the man before...he wondered if he was an exchange student. Would he be a big guy with lots of complicated muscles? Lanky? Fat? Black, blonde or brunnette? Tan?
He thoughtful chewed at the end of a pencil, a bell distantly ringing. Luna's touch upon his shoulder brought him back from his mind, "Come on, it's time to go back to the dorms."
Noctis, as he did routinely, walked his friend back to her room. She gave him a tight hug, and the two exchanged snacks (as it had become a routine) she got him one of his favorites: a large salty bag of potato chips and a small can of orange soda. He dragged his feet a few moments away to his regal-appearing suite, watching the school begin to wind down in the evening air. The sound of music, televisions and friends drinking hung about in the air, a common occurance for Thursdays. His mind was swimming with excitment, and having the art class be his only one in the afternoon was a bonus. He slipped from his clothes for the day and slept in only boxers, a blanket loosely covered around his body.
The class began at 1pm sharp, Ignis standing as stiff as a pole. He gazed, unblinking, to the class. They were all silent...the mentor usually did not speak until something important was occuring.
"Class please welcome our gues Prompto." He waved his hand to someone behind a thick curtain. Gingerly, a head popped out.
Noctis could feel himself flush over with heat at the sight of just this man's face, let alone unsure of what he would do once the fuzzy green robe was discarded from his shoulders. He was beautiful, and surely only about 17 years old. Freckles dotted every inch of his pale face, his thick golden hair was simply flowing from his scalp. His smile radiated sunshine, and made the prince's heart hammer. His face was smooth, cheeks lit up with red blush. He waved gently to them with his delicate looking hand, "Hey there! Thanks for letting me be here."
They returned his gesture, each mumbling greetings. Noctis locked eyes with him and sweat and the icy blue orbs that met his own dark spheres.
"Alright class. You have about 1 minute to sketch each pose Prompto will perform."
The model dropped the robe for class, and Noct swore that he could hear Astrals singing in hundreds of different tongues. The light from the window, dangling high in the air for privacy, sprinkled across his lean yet muscular body. Prompto was a work of art...his body was sculpited and Noctis feverishly tried to capture it. But no matter how hard he tried to define it, it was as if a god was in his sights...impossible to describe. His shoulders were small, delicate and the freckles upon his skin there looked like blankets of stars upon the night sky. His chest was fluttering with quick breaths, the excitment of the class sketching the boy made him a bit embarassed but he posed quietly with hands upon his feminine hips. A dainty curve attached his torso to his legs, and Noctis wanted to do nothing more than to reach out and guide his hands along the valley. A trail of golden hairs led from his navel to the unaroused sex organ between his sinewy thighs, the member itself was very impressive even if it was not anywhere near ready to service. When he turned his back to the future king, Noct admired every shadow jutting from his shoulderblade, each bone on his spine seemed to jut out from his stretched skin. And his bottom was a feast, round and tight.
Ignis cocked his eyebrow at the impressive sketches the prince was producing, beaming, "Excellent work Noctis! Your anatomy has improved from our intial sketchings."
Noct only thanked the mentor with a grunt, watching Prompto slump over a couch lazily and his eyelids half-close. He gazed to Noctis...and the prince finally noticed he was watching him as well. The model devilishly pressed a finger to his lips with a smirk and Noctis felt the heat rising around his cheeks once more. He enjoyed the playful nature the man spoke of, even in his silence. His body language was amazing, scuttering about with energy bursting from every pore. He bent in strange ways, and relaxed only for a few seconds.
Something was strange though...a barcode tattoo was placed upon his wrist open for the world to see. Noct focused his gaze to the arm, sketching in in great detail. Someone his age with a tattoo already? This guy was so interesting...and yet they hadn't even shared a word together. A fire set inside him...he had to ask him out for something.
"Luna..." He whispered sharply, "Is Loqi getting you back tonight?"
"Yeah it's Friday..."
"Alright."
"Why?"
"I think I'm gonna ask him out."
"What on a date?"
"Just...to get coffee.." He mumbled.
"You're totally falling for him aren't you?" She snickered, shoving his shoulder lightly. Ignis huffed at the two, and they went back to focusing. Time flew by.
The bell run and Noct's heart sunk as Prompto reached for his robe, placing it around his shoulders. He walked about the room, admiring the pictures that had been sketched of him. Noctis clasped his fist determined. He cleared his throat and smiled, approaching him with a handful of his pencils.
"What an honor..." Prompto told with sincerty in his tone, "Being approached by the Prince of Insomnia. What brings you to me today?"
"You...posed wonderfully..." Noct complimented, trying not to sound too creepy.
The blonde blushed, trying to hide his face a bit with the robe, "You think so? It's taken a lot of work to get to where I am now."
"That's awesome." Noct beamed. The two watched each other, unsure of what to say. Noct rubbed the back of his head, "you uh, doing anything tonight?"
"No..." Prompto urged.
"Wanna go get something out with me?"
"Like a date?" His eyes sparkled, "Sure!"
Noct could feel his heart race. prompto chuckled, "Let's do this when I have my clothes on though. By the way, out of all the sketches I liked yours the most."
He watched the boy skitter away and smirked, searching up the best places for a good bite to eat.

GIVE ME MORE MANDO ART HISYORY
MY FRIEND I HOPE YOU ARE PREPARED
BECAUSE I DUG OUT MY ART HISTORY TEXT BOOK FOR THIS
YELL HEA
I’m probably gonna focus on the Vienna Secession and the Space Wars equivalent for now, because let’s face it, that’s on the forefront of my mind.
First, let’s talk about Space!Klimt’s three ceiling paintings of Philosophy, Medicine, and Jurisprudence (basically “Law”). These were commissioned by the University of Vienna, with the theme of “Triumph of Light over Darkness.” And of course, rather than depicting what the University wanted, he did the opposite. (Unfortunately, most of that artwork has been destroyed or badly archived because of that reason.)
Anyways, in Space!!! The Imperial Academy focuses on the military. Regardless, I do not doubt there’s some Imperial version of the University of Vienna. Maybe it’s the University of Coruscant Intergalactic University of the Empire. I’m sticking with Coruscant because that’s where the Imperial Capital is basically, at the time. (I’d go with Alderaan to be the planet that the Mandalorian artists secede from, since it’s so beautiful I’d bet there’s a lot of artsy shit going down there.)
Anyway. The Intergalactic University of the Empire (IUE) commissioned Space!Klimt to create the following artworks: The Military, The Force, and of course, The Law. (Initially the following: Philosophy, Medicine, and Jurisprudence, in that order. I’m just going to reinterpret the artwork that Klimt’s created, and pretend there are dashes of Imperialism in it.)
THE MILITARY [see original Philosophy artwork at this link]
Here we see a conglomerate of agonized bodies on the left hand side of the painting, and a head to the right of those bodies. That head, though not a portrait of the Emperor himself, is representative of him. The bodies are of his military, stripped bare of clothes and therefore of will. The different states of fitness of the bodies are representative of just how strict the military is on its soldiers, and how demanding it is of them.
THE FORCE [see original Medicine artwork at this link]
Perhaps the most beautiful parts of this piece are the two women representative of the Sith (always two there are). The two women, the one alone to the left, and the one at the bottom, refer to Palpatine and Vader respectively. The dead and the living bodies amassed in the center are representative of the Living Force. The bodies, all in some form of slumber or another (eternal or otherwise) give us the idea that the Force surrounds all aspects of life: from birth to death.
The nude woman on the left, a much more appealing representation of Palpatine, reaches over into the conglomerate of bodies, absorbing the power of the Force and becoming stronger through it. The strength he gains is represented by the woman’s youth and even the length of hair. (Who manages to grow hair that long and keep it long and healthy? Someone who is apparently strong in the Force.)
The more modestly dressed woman at the bottom [which can be seen more clearly here] is again, representative of Vader. He is dressed in red and gold. Red in this case is both representative of his loyalty to the Empire, as well as the blood he has spilt. The gold is gilded: Though Vader is known as a powerful figure to look up to, even idolize, the Mandalorian artist who painted this piece knows very well how terrible Vader truly is.
Let us divert a moment to how the Emperor and Vader are seen: I bet my left foot that the Sith are seen as all powerful, merciful, and benevolent. But again, the Mandalorian who painted this knows the much darker side to Vader than the rest of the galaxy. Therefore, Space!Klimt used gold to represent a gilded image of Vader. You’ll notice that, in the left hand of the woman representative of Vader, is a bowl, and a snake slithering into it. Snakes are, though powerful, are often used to depict venomous intent and treachery. Just like Vader.
THE LAW [see original Jurisprudence artwork at this link]
In the foreground, there are three women surrounding a broken, waning, emaciated man. In the background, three other women depicting passive figures that do nothing to help the man. The three figures in the foreground, as with the original Klimt artwork, depict Truth, Justice, and Law. In the background, I like to think of the three women as Grace, Compassion, and Mercy. They are blocked away from the four figures in the foreground by two solid masses (one to the left of them, one at their feet).
Truth, Justice, and Law all look away from the man who has given up on seeking Grace, Compassion, and Mercy. Instead, the three women are leaving the victim to the mercy of the tentacled monster, in Space, depicted as a monster that is the same species as Bor Gullet. Bor Gullet, as seen in Rogue One, is the mind reading tentacled monster, which, if fallen victim to, “one tends to lose one's mind.” As Truth (left) slumbers, Justice (center) watches with a sadistic look in her eye, and Law (right) seems to even be laughing, or at least amused, as she looks at the viewer. As Truth, Justice, and Law watch on, the monster consumes the man, leaving nothing behind.
CONCLUSION
As with the original Klimt, Mandalorian!Klimt’s artwork was rejected from the IUE, and destroyed - but not before Mando!Klimt posted holos of his artwork on the Holonet for the galaxy to see. Still, the holos weren’t very good quality, and the original artwork has been lost. Of course, existing evidence means that Mando!Klimt was still banished from Coruscant, and stripped of his Mandalorian status.

First, a little bit about FabFitFun, and my history with the box. FabFitFun is a box subscription or gift that you can purchase as either a yearly subscription or a seasonal renewing/cancel any time box. I first tried FabFitFun back in Summer 2015. I liked it so much that I went ahead and got the yearly subscription in September 2015 as a birthday present to myself. Recently, I renewed my subscription this Spring as another “treat yo’self” gift to celebrate increased income from my freelance jobs. What can I say? I can’t get enough.
So, what exactly is the FabFitFun Subscription Box?
Every box contains fun full-sized items from fashion to beauty to fitness and more, themed and styled around the upcoming season. The FabFitFun box always  contains a guaranteed over $200 of products. This spring box has a value of $374! BUT the box only costs $49.99 (including shipping) without a subscription, while an annual subscription will get you four boxes when you pre-pay for $179.99. P.S. If you use my referral code you can get an extra $10 off your first box or subscription! That’s a lot of swag for the price tag.
I would say, because of how great and valuable the products are inside, that you could also knock out all of your Christmas gifts for your girlfriends in one go…but honestly, there’s nothing in all of the boxes I’ve received that I didn’t want to keep. Seriously. These boxes are AWESOME!

Did I mention? Stream workouts on FabFitFun TV!
As of VERY recently, FabFitFun has added this awesome new year-long add-on to their yearly subscribers: FabFitFun TV! Yes, totally included with yearly subscriptions now is an exercise-streaming service with TONS of awesome workout videos.
Because it literally just came out, I’ve only had the time to try a few and browse the site, but I’m already in love. For one, it is organized beautifully by “type” of exercise and there are videos for Strength&Toning to Yoga to Cardio to Pilates and BARRE! The length of the videos varies greatly too. So, whether you have 10 minutes or an hour, you can find a workout to fill the time! This is especially great for me. Because I’ve kiiiind of fallen off the workout bandwagon in recent months  years, but I’m really wanting to hop back on. Shorter effective workouts are my jam, basically–not intimidating, but they pack a punch. I did one of FabFit TV’s leg toning videos and was sore for literally a week after. Which means it’s either a super effective workout, or I’m super out of shape. Probably a combo of both.
Get to the box, already.
ANYWAYS, here I’ve been rambling about how great the box is and I haven’t even begun to say what’s inside it! Fine. I’ll make you wait no longer. Without further ado, here is everything you need to know about what is inside the FabFitFun Spring 2017 subscription box!
The first thing you’ll see in your colorful box with super fun springtime artwork by Cat Coquillette (@catcoq on insta), is the little catalog with a message from the FabFitFun Founder and a guide to everything inside your box. While I of course read this after getting to all of the goodies in my box, I always love reading it to learn more about the products and about FabFitFun.
I Am Fabulous Lip Kit from RealHer in Red <3
Female-Centric
This catalog explains that this FabFitFun Box has partnered with the “More Than Me” charity which helps young women and girls in Liberia get necessary education tuition-free. That’s something else I love about FabFitFun–in addition to supporting female artists through all of their box designs, they also support awesome women-centric charities that I can totally  get behind! If you want to learn more about More Than Me, visit their website at www.morethanme.org or their insta at @morethanmeorg.
The catalog further explains that this Spring box is particularly special because it marks FabFitFun’s 3rd anniversary! And as if they weren’t already doing enough, the catalog explains that this box celebrates and contains products from seven female-founded brands, a new record for FabFitFun! Finally, the beauty brands in the box are built around ethical, natural, and cruelty-free ingredients.

The Products!
WITHOUT FURTHER ADO (I know I’ve said this already, but whatever): WHAT’S INSIDE YOUR FABFITFUN SPRING 2017 BOX!
GYPSY 05 “Roundie”
This may be what I’m MOST excited for, not gonna lie. I’ve wanted a round beach blanket/towel/pieceoffabric whatever since the first time I saw one on Zulily, but they were always so expensive! Needless to say, when I saw this was in my box, I flipped. It’s an excellent size for a picnic outside with a friend, but I’m also thinking of using it as a backdrop on my wall for photos and more. It also fits perfectly over my round kitchen table! I love it <333 Valued at $50.
Briogeo “Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-in Conditioning Spray”
I have pretty curly hair thanks a lot to the Atlanta humidity, but after 25 years of not knowing how to deal with it, I learned for the first time last September that curly hair NEEDS moisture to survive and not get all frizzy. So much money wasted on Frizz-eez and silicon-containing products when I needed the exact opposite! This spray contains NO SULFATES (Yay!) but rather rosehip, argan, and coconut oil.  Valued at $20.
Milly “Zip Pouch”
Mine says “Resting Beach Face” which makes me so happy because I’ve always loved a good pun. This pouch is a pretty great size and is water proof, so it will be perfect for packing away a wet bathing suit after a day at the pool or beach. Valued at $45.
Dr. Brandt “Microdermabrasion Age Defying Exfoliator”
This face exfoliator contains no Parabens, so that’s awesome. Instead it contains “aluminum oxide crystals , lactic acid, and smoothing botanicals.” But honestly I’m just excited for my at home facials <3. Valued at $79.
Karuna “Hydrating+ Face Mask”
Also Paraben-free, these deep conditioning sheet masks are made from 100% natural wood pulp fiber, aloe vera and Chinese licorice. I think I’ll use this ultra-moisturizing mask after my Dr. Brandt exfoliator, thankyouverymuch. Valued at $28.
REALHER “Lip Kit in Deep Red, Deep Nude, or Neutral Pink” [I got deep red ;)]
Made with all natural ingredients, this liquid lipstick, plumping lip gloss, and lip liner all contain NO PTHALATES, hust shea butter and jojoba seed oil! Aside from the vibrant red color, I love the little empowering phrases on each one. Mine say “I am tough,” “I am a fighter,” and “Be yourself.” Valued at $48.
Deborah Lippmann “Nail Polish Set in Blue Orchid/Like A Virgin or Shape of my Heart/Like a Virgin”
I got the shape of my heart combo. My nails are in need of a good DIY manicure, and I’m always thrilled to see a bottle of high quality polish in my box. Although I usually only purchase cheap polish for myself, I know that the better the polish, the longer lasting the manicure. Valued at $19.
LUV AJ Diamond Kite Crawler Earring Set or  Emerald DUV “Joshua Tree” Cage Bracelet ($80)
I opted for the earrings–beautiful 14K gold “Climbers” and “studs” with jewel accents. Maybe these will make me look hip for once! Maybe.  Valued at $85.
Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin & Nails Gummies
FabFitFun often adds in an extra little full-sized sample of products their consumers will enjoy. This time around I got these strawberry Hair, Skin, & Nails biotin gummies. I tried them yesterday, and they are super yummy. Seriously, I had to remind myself they aren’t candy.  Value – ?? Not mentioned.
TOTAL RETAIL: $374+
One Last Thing
So now you’ve seen what came in my box, but I’d like to add my box will be different from others. Not because it’s a luck-of-the-draw thing, but because FabFitFun lets  annual subscribers CHOOSE between different options. This time around, I chose the pattern I wanted for my Roundie, the color of my nail polish and lip set, which of the clutches I wanted, and the earrings over the bracelet. Seasonal subscribers do not have the customization option. (But honestly, I would have been happy with any of the options!)
In addition to box customization, there are a few other perks with having the annual subscription over a seasonal renewing one. These include early shipping (getting your box before everyone else!), and early access to seasonal Add-ons for your box.
What? Add Ons? That’s right. You can add even more goodies to your box. All add-ons are favorite products featured in previous boxes. AND All of these products will also be up to 70% off retail price. Also, they are totally optional. (But it’s great for knocking out some Christmas shopping ;). )
If the FabFitFun box sounds like something you’d like to try, you can use my referral code to get an extra $10 off on your first box/subscription. Thinking of giving it a go or getting it for a friend/loved one? Let me know in the comments. Also please let me know what other subscription boxes you’ve enjoyed
