dude i don't really care if people ship aroace characters just please acknowledge that they're aro and/or ace. like,, aro and ace people still can and do enter into relationships of various types at times and not every aro or ace person completely lacks attraction anyway and some date even if they do, so like, ship them if thats what you want but please just be respectful.

just acknowledge that the character is aro and/or ace. do some research about what that might mean for them if you need to. treat those characters in a way that respects their identities and doesn't completely brush them aside.

im just tired. we can be in relationships. we can not be in relationships. we are still aros and aces. dont try and erase what little representation we get.

i would like to note that i see things in this way because i have never seen a 'professional' writer (like non-fanfic or not a small online creator) specify where an aro/ace character sits on those spectrums or how they actually view relationships of any type. i've also never seen any 'professional' writer's characters get to explore or express that part of themselves enough in their stories to give much better an understanding than just "not really interested in sex or romance".

if a more specific understanding of a character was provided and it meant that that character wouldn't be involved in romantic and/or sexual relationships or was repulsed by them than yeah, I wouldn't want people shipping them at all but i dont think i've ever seen that so thats not what this is about.

The Web - God of Fate (she/it): im pretty happy with her design atm, shes meant to be a half spider half woman thing and i love that for her. shes probably the one ive thought the most on so far given her importance to the story. i want her to wear silks and shiny silver jewelry that just sparkles like wet spiderwebs do, not sure if im gonna keep the veil?

The Dark - God of the Dark (she/he/it): probably my weakest concept at the moment. it doesnt do the dark any justice. i mean i like the cloak idea but i want them to be very tendrilly, all consuming, shadowy, but i dont know how to properly portray them :/

The Desolation - God of Destruction and Fire (they/it): i have a neat vision for them! i want them to be made of coal and ash and smoke, to be burning and glowing on the inside, and their body is decorated with melted wax to look like clothes. not quiiiiiite sure about how their melty candle dress is now? i want it to be less constrictive

The Stranger - God of the Unknown and the Whimsical (he/she/they/it): it's meant to be this. weird wirey creature hidden behind masks and a lot of fabrics, like the framework of a poseable plush doll? i like the way the masks look but im not so sure about the body.

The Vast - God of the Above (she/he/they/it): im not so sure about his design at all im gonna be real. i want them to look like the atmosphere and be covered in clouds and have mountains for feet and an ocean cape but i feel like it might be a bit?? idk??? im just not that happy with it :/

The End - God of Death and Time (they/it): ugh i love this concept sm, making death read as less scary and more divine is so fun. theyre based on a seraphim and a sand timer,

The Buried - God of the Underneath (she/he/they/it): ANOTHER OF MY FAVORITES!!!! i love them. theyre inspired by hermit crabs!! and they have silver chains holding their shell to them. they look so endearing with their lil lopsided eyes ;; <3

The Flesh - God of the Body and Meat (she/he/they/it): i have so many ideas for the flesh y'all- im very excited to do a concept sheet for them. theyre meant to have no skin, just exposed bone and muscle, large limbs, hooves, exposed heart underneath a ribcage, teeth that close around their abdomen. white bandages that wrap around like clothes. a teeth/horn crown? i dont quite know whether to go for a more animalistic look or a more human one? like- theres so many ways to go with him idek!!!

The Hunt - God of Predators and Pride (they/it): see, i like this design but i feel like its too werewolf like? yknow? thats cool!! but itreads more monster to me than God :/

The Corruption - God of Nature, Rot, and Disease (she/they/it): i love this weird bug thing. this one i was really inspired for (mostly because. corruption aligned. so obviously im gonna think about this one alot) theyre this weird bug thing, the veil is inspired by the one from the art on the wiki! i want to maybe make them a bit more gross and weird because nature is like that sometimes, a moot on tiktok suggested that i add animal bones!! and i think thats SO smart im absolutely going too

The Spiral - God of the Incomprehensible (it/its): this weirdo is so hard to pin down istg. i imagine them as this spiral thing. body is kindof liquidy, arms are spindly and long, multiple shifting faces, overall just constantly changing and moving and like!!! how am i meant to draw that??? when my brain cant even wrap my head around what its supposed to look like yknow??? bruh jrdbhgfjdldgfh- that being said i think the main problem with the design is that it just gives me too many Michael vibes!!! is it the hair? the arms? its probably both.

The Lonely - God of Solitude and the Self (they/it): i like what this one has going so far! theyve got fog hair, fog tears, their body is meant to be splotchy like turquoise marble, i vibe with it so hard. not so sure what to do with their outfit tho :/

The Slaughter - God of War (he/they/it): another one of my more stronger designs i think! centaur with weapons sticking into them, face concealed, medieval armor and antlers- it vibes

not to sit here and weave a story out of nothing like a little protagonist via my quirky online storytelling but i rekindled my friendship with sam who is such an interesting person there are just a lot of stories of all sorts and this is funny timing but truly we just fell into such an easy banter this past class so we were like omg lets hang right so. his roommate really is just like stupid hot right. i could get corny with it but i wont. a face sculpted by the hands of god though. all this prefaced i will now tell u an absolutely nothing story and i really mean that read at your own discretion ((A/N: trust and believe i yapped. putting under keep reading to be somewhat forgivable) (i am not in my best of states rn. okay.)

anyway so we're chillin in sams room im getting caught up on the latest construction projects and shit.. one thing abt sam hes always up to something. they've got an entire work desk #butchrealness. then i hear some singing out in the hallway but from where im sitting cant actually see anyone so convo just goes sam and roommate 'hey' 'hey' and then i peeked my little head out and waved and said hey and they stopped and set down their basket and said 'Hey' and then i did not introduce myself (flop) (combo of cramped room and sam talking and me being wildly awkward) (also keep in mind i dont know if this person has swiped left on me or not been on tinder or if theyd even recognize me anyway and hating that that's even a situation bc i hate that stupid app but just hoping worst case scenario i dont come off as an insane stalker but rather a victim of circumstance) but they just chatted for a sec abt whatever shelf sam needs to fix and that was that. and then they went back to humming which was cute or whatever

to set the next scene we're down in the kitchen and sams cooking and this is a while after we took his homemade gummies so im not rlly high per se but chillin and something about the noise and setup in their kitchen is so overstimulating for me lol when shes cooking im just like frozen. i always offer to help but he always just gets in a groove it's best i dont intervene. one time he had to tell me to go sit down in the other room bc i was freakin out a little lol

so im perched on this single high chair they have in the kitchen right next to their washer and dryer as sams whipping up some food and im kind of obnoxiously saying Unfortch in response to a story he was telling me and he gives me a look so im like UnfortunateLy. and then hes like 'psh i know unfortch i live with this guy' cue roommate strollin in with laundry and theyre just like Whaat and sam explains and theyre like Oh ofc you gotta know unfortch or whatever. forgot to mention that earlier in sams room they said three similar abbreviated words in a row just during a normal sentence and it caught me so off guard i wanted to giggle. so naturally my brain is going through Immediate social response of a semi awk laugh or quippy remark about that but also theyre literally like a foot away from me and im largely nonverbal atm lmfaoo so i just mumble smth to try and go along w the bit but then trailed off cause i was like wtf am i even saying. brain was overloaded

and then i was like um. i literally was just staring around doing fuck all like a perched bird or something but i was fighting a war in my mind of like ok do i introduce myself or look to sam to do so or do we not do that or is that rude idk but also they have headphones on one ear and are doing all their laundry shit and i once again dont want to be like overbearing but also well come on now we gotta feel out the vibe (and i do a great job here.) idk so im like Ok dont just look at them but dont Not look at them just behave like a normal person. you know. the usual. sam comes over to give me a bit of bread with balsamic vinegar and oil and i spilled it on my sweater fuck this stupid baka life (didnt really show. but still they were right there..)

and so after a min of this they were kinda like awkward laugh 'dont mind me' and i once again was very self conscious and had several things that wanted to come out 'not at all' 'dont mind me' 'it's your house' 'these all sound awful abby' then i got anxious that i was in the way the whole time but they were almost done and if i got into a weird apology thing well i would have had to kill myself so i just once again kind of uttered something that would have sounded like 'youresogoodicanmovetoo' and also 'sorry if i just keep like looking over at you' WTF IS THAT SHIT. FUMBLE BOOOOO and my follow up was essentially nothing cause i couldnt decide if i should say 'im just a bit out of it/high' 'im easily distracted (kys)' 'idk what to do w myself haha' 'im useless in the kitchen' (not entirely true) i mean just a few minutes before sam and i had talked about how ill just wander around peoples rooms and observe things to avoid feeling awkward and it's just how i am and so i was kinda just doing that due to the nerves of the sitch but there was only so much to look at. and i just sat there. offputting realness. whatever. so. straight face emoji. and that was mostly the extent of that i dont remember what they said in response just like a lil laugh or w/e. probably couldnt hear my stupid ass mumbling. so im thinking my chances of charming them at all are really stellar

jigen dying after a surgeon replaces all of his organs with animal ones (ie replacing his heart with a sheep's): i have. no idea how this would take place JKHJGH considering giving this to lupin instead bc of this next one

lupin dying in a hospital after being tortured: this one's actually kinda thought out bc this was originally an idea for LJS. basically lupin is kidnapped and kept in a basement, originally in LJS the kidnappers cut his fake eye out and mail it to the gang but for this idk what theyd do instead JKHJGH hes p much just beat within an inch of his life until the gang come to save him. then he dies. bleh

fujiko dying from a parasite in her womb: this was originally a lupin death where a parasite in his intestine leeches mind altering toxin into his blood to make him believe hes somehow pregnant bc he is. stupid JKHJGHFG but now its the same thing but in fujiko's womb instead, it ends with it bursting out through her abdomen when shes being driven to the hospital :) yippee

and lastly zenigata being choked to death by jigen: idr if ive talked about this yet but during a heist zeni catches jig while hes trying to run off with lupin, and to buy lupin time he manages to get zeni on the ground n tries to knock him out. he ends up going into like. a fugue state n goes overboard choking him till he hemorrhages, once jigen snaps out of it he runs off, pukes behind the building, and tries to catch up with lupin (and never tells anyone what he did)

i havent seen anyone bother you about mave yet(? maybe i missed it) so i wanted to bother you about mave. People are *saying* that theyre ripping aespa but i think both mave and aespa ripping k/da. k/da is very successful in their own right but companies need to know they cant replicate something like that,,, not authentically at least. k/da had built in lore, built in fanfare from other artists fanbases and interesting music. if companies arent even gonna TRY with any of that theres no point

no one has! they're.......fine i guess? i have nothing really to say about them bc they're just kind of middle of the road. i AM however inclined to agree with you that they are ripping k/da. aespa i think gets it more right and i don't mind their ae concept as much as i thought i would bc it's pretty much just used for story + worldbuilding purposes, which is what that kind of thing works well for. mave is....pretty much just the end product of k/da without any of the whole ass game that the characters in k/da are based on. i did actually write a post about k/da ages ago, but they very much were a passion project of riot's that they didn't really have an idea if the whole thing was gonna work or not. and it was the combination of all of the factors (being made by very passionate people, having extremely talented top of the line animators involved, the game's fandom, and smart utilization of the actual medium itself) that made them pop off like crazy, not the formula of 'pretty animated idol women'. aespa is at least combining both traditional idol forms with some of those animated elements, and is doing it in a way that's in line with sm's conceptual branding (i don't mean the kwangya stuff, i mean they've always done concepts around techno orientalism, going all the way back to h.o.t). i don't really know what the more nuanced deal with mave is bc i've only seen the mv and it didn't grab me so i haven't bothered to look for more about them, but when you get down to it: idols are characters, especially the human ones. we've just been conditioned not to recognize them as such bc the fantasy hinges on everyone agreeing that it's all real. it's the ultimate suspension of disbelief that everyone refuses to acknowledge. all the extra content is there to establish the 'world' that these idols live in, to build them up as characters in this little story that they play for our entertainment. with real live people it's very easy to convince an audience that what is happening is real, bc our brains are trusting and stupid, but with something that is NOT human, it's much harder. we automatically see where all the flaws are, and you cannot shortcut 'worldbuilding' with extra content like you do with an idol bc those people are not real so they would not be doing real people things. when you have animated characters with no grounding to a real person (that's where aespa gets it right), you NEED to have a story to establish where those characters are from because otherwise, what the hell is the draw? why should people care? especially when we don't really have unified stock characters as part of a cultural concensus atm. idk. maybe the novelty of it is drawing people in, but in my opinion this company missed the trees for the forest on what actually made k/da (and to some degree aespa) successful in the first place.

cranky writer whatever moment

ugh its for sure just because i havent gotten enough sleep but like. idk its frustrating trying to get back into fandom. it feels like tumblr is a Way different space than it was before

im not trying to give anyone shit here im just. venting idk. that like it can get frustrating knowing im putting my heart and soul and tears and time into good space (very happily i might add) knowing that im making something thats Good. like, its the best thing IVE written so far as a hobby author, and i love it dearly. so i get protective of it.

and then i watched a 4k count smut fic i did off the top of my head as practice for sam coe’s headspace beat the kudos on an ELEVEN CHAPTER fic ive put 130k+ words into in less than like three days of the 4k being posted. like tbh that was kinda crushing to notice.

i know i know, starfield is new fandom rush even though bg3 is The Big Thing right now. and I KNOW, i write for myself. nothings going to stop me from writing good space, thats for sure. but that doesnt mean that having it barely get touched in a pretty active fandom doesnt hit the brain juice kinda hard. i think im gonna finally give in and put it in the bucky/reader category. i feel like itll at least make me feel better

and then. idk. theres the tumblr front. the nsfw crackdown really changed the landscape. all i get are posts rec’d to me (when i forget to switch to the following tab) from authors talking about how interaction is down and how they hate when people like and follow but dont reblog and im just. ugh. it all feels like a gross headspace.

the last thing i ever want to do is make people feel like theyre forced to comment or reblog or anything like that. im cool with being the smut writer who gets likes, kudos, and hidden bookmarks. that doesnt offend me. it just feels like im getting shadow banned by tumblrs algorithm for being nsfw, so im not getting engagement, and theres (im NOT picking a fight im NOT being smug or superior im NOT insulting anyone please dont put words in my mouth) puritan vibes moving through a lot of parts of tumblr and it gets judgmental really fast

ive watched my fair share of fandom implosions and i just. idk. im super cautious of where i plant my roots these days because of it. so. i think for the time being im just gonna focus on writing good space and finishing up bg3 so i can write about it.

im not gonna be doing anymore starfield writing unless i get requests for it/until the ck drops and gives me the urge to write for it again 🤷‍♀️

if any of the followers i got over the last couple days for sam coe stuff want more, you’re free to ask bb, i dont mind. i just dont have the drive to come up with ideas for it myself atm sorry ❤️

its my favorite thing to think about when it comes to lemon and tangerine because it could be so many different things. obviously they had a rough childhood so like,, what happened??

i have like a whole essay i wrote as a reblog to the post abt my hc of them as teens/young adults but now i feel like its too long and im too scared to post it tbh

but heres some shorter hcs i have for them !!!

Lemon is the voice of reason between them. Emotionally, he's more mature and he is very calming, helping Tangerine keep control of his emotions and temper. On the other hand, Tangerine is physically fiercely protective of his brother.

I think Lemon had a phase where he tried to drop all his 'childish' interests, like Thomas. The one who brought him back to himself was Tangerine. He was expecting to enjoy his brother not always talking about and watching kids' shows, but Lemon got super serious and tried to focus on their job---and it was like most of his brother died. He was so serious and always trying to get things done, he was like Tangerine, and to his own surprise, Tangerine couldn't stand that because that wasn't his brother. Tangerine forced him to start watching Thomas again

Tangerine has a problem with getting paranoid at night. It was worse when they were young adults just starting to live on their own, and so he would only fall asleep if he was right next to Lemon on the sofa when his brother was watching Thomas on the TV. The familiar background noise and the feeling of his brother being right beside him was the only thing that could calm his mind enough to sleep. As long as he was on the sofa with Lemon, he would be fine, but more often than not he just slept on his shoulder. Lemon was just happy to help his brother, and also happy that helping his brother involved watching Thomas

I have more, I've got like 30 fanfic wips of them in that era so I have a lot of ideas, but these are the ones I could think of atm !! i hope you're ok with me sending an ask like this if not I'm sorry

I'd love to read more about all that happened in their upbringing because they're fun and wild and crazy sometimes but im sure there was a lot of suffering and angst and I love angst SO.

I absolutely agree that Lemon is the voice of reason between them while Tangerine is more impulsive and physical??? idk if it makes sense. but Lemon counts to 10 or maybe 6 before acting on something. Tangerine tries Very Hard.

and yes on the surface it looks like Tangerine mocks Lemon for Thomas the tank engine but deep down it soothes him too and gives him a sense of security. knowing that Thomas is there and therefore Lemon is there, just being Lemon and being his brother. as always. they're each other's lighthouse/anchor/person

ALSO WHAT ABOUT MOMO??? i completely forgot!!!! I think they meet/start to be in contact right in these initial years..

i honestly just love these two and i like to pretend theyre just fine and alive and thriving!!
