More ideas for my DE x TMA crossover thingy: instead of Skills, Jon has the Fears (and there is a reason for this). I was wondering if instead of being called their more well-known names, they'd be something less obvious, bc Jon has no clue as to what these voices are yet. Maybe the Hunt could be called "Chase"/"Pursuer"/"Wolf"/"Hound"....

List of things TMA missed out on statementwise:

Sorted by fear.

Corruption:

-Bot Flies. They lay eggs on parasitic things like mosquitos and when they land on a host, the eggs with fall of and the larvae will burrow into the host’s flesh and feed on their bodily liquids.

-Bees. Have a statement of a beekeeper who is slowly letting the bees make a hive of them. Why not?

Vast:

-Theme park rides. Ones with drops were it feels like you fall forever, loops were the only thing under you is open sky.

Eye:

-Statement of a person about their roommate and how they seem to be keeping track of their behavior. Little things at first, like how they like their pasta cooked, but then it gets bigger, like knowing their work schedule and sleeping habits. This roommate just always watches. Might also go with the Stranger, depending on how it’s handled.

Stranger:

-We saw dolls and other humanoids, but not robots. Statement of an engineer who is trying to make a working robot, but it actually comes to life without power or creepy crap like that. When the person tries to look at its coding, it’s literally nothing.

Spiral:

Statement of a museum security guard regarding how the paintings seem to move in the corner of their eye, how the hallways seem to go on longer than they should, how the statues’ eyes seem to follow them. Night At The Museum but creepy.

Lonely:

Statement of a person on the search for a new roommate after their old one died. Every time they thing they find someone, something happens to them. Finally, they think it’s their fault and go into self-isolation. They think they see the fog in the street turn into their old friends, but they can’t go see in case they hurt them.

End:

Statement of a mortician. Idk, just seems like it would work.

Slaughter:

Statement of an American who moved to London. Regarding the last Black Friday shopping trip they took. It might have been the reason they left the U.S. On the trip, everyone was ready to kill for what they wanted, and everyone in the store did, until there was one person left. That’s the American Black Friday experience for ya.

Hunt:

A group of friends is on a camping trip when they hear wolves at night. Now, in America this is fine, but in Britain, wolves haven’t been part of the environment for many many moons. They can’t leave because it started storming the next day, and two of them are “sick.” Well, as you guessed, werewolves! One dealt with the urge to kill by leaving camp, but the other attack someone, leading to the others running with the friend that attacked them chasing them, along with the wolves. Basically Werewolf Games from The Hermit Archives or From The Archives.

Alex

Any time a character is aligned with either the Hunt or the Slaughter, there is going to be room for debate on which they better fit. There is a lot of overlap between the two, but a few key differences can help us pinpoint where a character belongs, and Alex fits the Slaughter.

After being haunted by the Operator, Alex concludes the only way to stop it is to kill his friends and then himself. He succeeds in killing Sarah, Seth, Amy, and later Jay. On paper, this scenario sounds similar to TMA episode 112, "Thrill of the Chase," which is associated with the Hunt, but a few key differences point to the Slaughter.

Unlike the Murder Club, Alex doesn't get pleasure from hunting his friends down. He's even reproachful toward Jay for dragging Jessica into their mess.

Alex uses intimate, painful, and violent methods. When he corners Tim in the shed, he attempts to bash his head in with a cinder block, which we see again with the bearded stranger in the tunnel. Alex is overly aggressive and violent with the kills we see; he gets caught up in the emotions like a Slaughter would. He doesn't give Jay a break either; Alex shoots him in the lower abdomen and leaves him to bleed out, which was the slowest and most painful way for Jay to die in that scenario.

At the end of the day, the only two entities I could see Alex being an avatar for would be the Slaughter and the Hunt. He left everything behind to pursue a grisly goal, and whether it centered around the chase or the kill, the result is the same.

okay so I was talking to my sibling about how interesting the magnus institute is with its whole stealing fear thing, and it occured to us how interesting it would be for other powers to design places to steal fear

so I now present:

the Spiral institute: after telling your story, the person who you told to informs you that they know a real paranormal insident when they see one, and that you are clearly just making things up in a desperate plea for attention, before pulling a Dr David and convincing you your insane

the Hunt institute: oppisite of the spiral one, after telling your story, the hunts archivist informs you that yes, what happened is real, and worse, they will come back for you and probably are doing so right this minuite, and you need to run away now. doesn't matter where you run, just that you keep running as you are being hunted down.

the Lonely institute: tells you that your story truly happened, but informs you that they have a safe room prepared for this very situation, you'll just have to stay in there, free of charge, for a week or so. they then close the door, and leave them alone exept for food and drink being sent by a machine through a small slot in the wall. (also even if only one week passes in the real world, they can make the time fell much longer)

the Dark institute: you are brought into a room to read out your story, but when you begin telling your story, the lights turn off and you must begin reliving your experience in the pitch black, with no way of seeing anything, but with the occasional sound coming from the shadows around you, just to make sure you never truly feel alone.

If you guys can think of ideas for other entity institutes, I would love to hear them!

Magtober Day 17 - The Hunt [tw // mild blood]

Our third black n white!! I had a great time drawing this one, it's a bit different than my usual style and was a great challenge.

Things are getting a bit hectic as we near midterms for my early college classes and the last month of the trimester of the rest of my classes, but I'm still holding out the best I can. I'm really hoping I can manage to post every day on time. Thank you lovlies for your continued support, you guys make this challenge ten times more enjoyable.
