i thought i was radicalized before but there is something about seeing every respectable institution and politican and media outlet around you cheer on a genocide while at the same time being able to see live footage of its horrors that cracks something in you open with no way to close it up again

everything everything is so awesome im glad someone i follow also likes them <3 thats all sorry i just love music
Never any apologies on my page 8D I can ramble about music incessantly, so thank you for your ask; I'm so glad to hear the same that you like them, as well! I've not organically met anyone in person who has heard of them, only friends who've discovered them through me or the wonders of finding shared-interest-mutuals on the internet. "Warm Healer" was my first Everything Everything song I had heard back in 2016-2017ishh; the tone of the polyrhythmic bass guitar INSTANTANEOUSLY hooked me in for good, then their interesting lyrical narrative was swift to follow suit... Also let's not ignore the madness of the fantastic cover art of "Get To Heaven," my god the colors, the design, the lines, the figure... And then, of course, the subconscious love for Radiohead (unknowing this was an element at play until around the release of "Re-Animator" when--to my knowledge--the band was more upfront about their inspirations and it all suddenly made sense).
Before the release of their lyric book, "CAPS LOCK ON," I had a list of B-sides and rarities, including stuff from Modern Bison, which featured Jonathan Higgs and Jeremy Pritchard from EE. On the list was/is "Wizard Talk," which has to be my favourite Everything Everything song on two points: Firstly, as much as Higgs loves to bend and snap vocal capacities with unimaginable peaks of falsetto + fast vocal cadences that leave their music uncategorizable to genre (and etc...), "Wizard Talk" is--in my opinion--unlike anything they've ever put out stylistically. "His voice sounds like he's playing marimba runs," I have repeated to friends over and over and over again, begging people to listen to this song. And then, secondly, comes the profound lyrics of this song. EE loves to play with elaborate metaphors to dance around politics, the state of the world, and social narratives, but "Wizard Talk" feels emotional on a level beyond their common frustrations, especially having been such an early track from the "Man Alive"(?) era, and also in contrast to the stark emotionality of "Re-Animator." Idk man. It hits hard. It's sad. It's hopeful. It's beautiful. You feel the character's defeat and his acceptance in that the hope he seeks is, will be, and always has been abstract in nature while he has spent so much time looking for a concrete and tangible handle to hold onto. It feels like their most vulnerable glimpse at what Jon really has to say. That song has meant a lot to me for a long time, so I am glad EE finally released (some of) the extras from "Man Alive" in the Deluxe re-release.
Ah, anyways, the B-side archive. Something something something, if I remember correctly, there's a few songs missing from the Man Alive deluxe release and even "CAPS LONG ON" is missing a few songs. I won't be cross-referencing this information right now, I'm in bed. Regardless, I will say that a song or two off of the re-release are completely different recording takes and mixes which I find of intruige (again, only if I remember correctly, I think it's at least "The Kids Are Obese" but dooonn't quote me on it..)
Anyways, what else... I've done a ton of art based around EE, some of which is lyrically inspired, others of which are direct tribute art to the band (including a piece to "Magnetophone"!) They're currently sitting at my third-most listened to band of all time, according to my LastFM page. I love them so very very much and I'm so glad you do, too; I hope your ask could maybe inspire others, as well ^^
Can't ask me anything about music and expect a short answer, heh, I still have so much more to say about EE. I am very passionate about music.

HEY YOU HAVE AN AWESOME WAY OF TALKING ABOUT MUSIC. GRINS SO MUCH. i’m glad you enjoyed gth it’s so so special to me genuinely the album of all time …. my favorite songs off it are s/s/w/d the wheel and blast doors Lways a joy to see someone go crazy about them
Tumblr media
^ really fond of this descriptor here also i think it succinctly puts a lot of what i love about ee’s songwriting down into words…. the weird entanglement of love and hate and confusion and clarity it’s a very very special moodset
also YEAH the way you described the vocals…. the early everything everything albums play a lot with like. roughness and scratchiness and the kind of ‘animalistic’ register of the human voice. (honestly everything before raw data feel. this is literally because the singer just decided to learn how to sing in high registers without falsetto for the first time which is like cool but also AUGH i miss that old sound
OK SO the thing about this bit
Tumblr media
absolutely YES the thing about get to heaven is that it’s literally just like. a complete album of bangers. going down through their other stuff is gonna be a little more rocky, you might enjoy the like once-per-album weird slow ballads you might not, even though i’m lazy about listening to some of their weaker stuff when i do go through the entire albums i still find a lot of quirks in the instrumentation or lyrics that manage to impress me. i’d recommend delving into either man alive or arc next those are basically on par with gth although a bit more weird and morose? if you’re feeling it id then recommend raw data feel which oscillates more around pop/new wave but still has some really interesting musical constructions, gets extremely electronic and synthy…. a fever dream is like a 50/50 split between really long slow songs which are just Fine and really fast heavy bangers. just go listen to notln, can’t do, desire, good shot, run the numbers and ivory tower LOL. uhhhh reanimator is arguably their weakest album probably the most unremarkable but it’s also like my second favorite right after get to heaven. it’s weird and glowy and flimsier than their other tunes. that enchants me i guess…. they’ve also got an upcoming album that once again seems to be more pop oriented, cold reactor is the best of the singles they’ve released for it yet. what else. there’s like a youtube playlist out there of demo/outtakes/non album stuff that you can find real easy, there’s some really good stuff in there. personal favorites are the come alive diana demo, even the dogs and dna dump
ok so the fucking thing about the “lore” of this album. there technically isn’t any and most of ee’s albums are a per-song thing usually revolving around like. modern social commentary. the genius pages for most of their songs have like. direct songwriting annotations by the band and explain the thought process behind them. however for gth there’s also like a small layer of overarching lore about this one guy called thomas silhouette as a character. he’s not so much the crux of any narrative or presence as much as he’s just like. funny anagram arising from a lyric in fortune 500 that gets alluded to in later albums because he’s loosely representative of a lot of themes that get tackled in ee songs like capitalism and dread and shit like that

References in chapter 36 of Strange Fascination
I know, I haven’t even made a post promoting it yet, but ssshhhhh…(yes, there is a new chapter!) I thought that I’d make a quick post about a few song/real life references in this chapter, since @tabb1tha pointed out one that I didn’t even intend. (Ziggy having white blood is not a reference to the Aladdin Sane album cover- I think that the mysterious liquid on his chest is supposed to be a teardrop, and as for why I gave Ziggy white blood, I've just always liked that concept in general; I first used that concept for a non-human OC in a story I wrote when I was about 10/11 and I wanted to bring it back- but I like that interpretation, it very well could be that!)
The most obvious one is the line “I’m never ever gonna die, and I’m never ever gonna get old” from “Never Get Old” by David Bowie, off his Reality album! (I like Reality a lot, and as an aside- I like the album cover, you guys are just mean.) I wasn’t intending to reference this song as there’s supposed to be a theme to the songs I do reference (that aren’t from the concept albums that I based the universe on), but I think I had been listening to Reality and just felt like throwing it in there.
When Whatsername reads the katakana on the back of Ziggy’s cape (side note- I’m not sure if you’d call it a cape? you know, that thing that Bowie’s wearing at the beginning of the Ziggy Stardust filmed concert that gets ripped off him? but I wasn’t sure what to call it), she reports that it says “hamburgers.” This is a reference to the last line of my personal favorite David Bowie song, “Sweet Thing” from Diamond Dogs. (Well, the entire Sweet Thing Suite is my favorite song of his.) I needed to think of something kind of dumb and silly that could be written on the cape- in my head, Ziggy’s cape was custom-made and the designer who made it had included it as a joke because he knew that the clueless English people (or… English-presenting in Ziggy’s case) who had ordered it wouldn’t be able to read it and would just think it looked cool, so he could write anything he wanted on it and they’d never notice. He was right. Anyway, I chose “hamburgers” because I always thought that non-sequitor at the end of “Sweet Thing” was funny, as if the narrator is losing their train of thought: “If this trade is a curse, then I turn to the crossroads and… hamburgers…” I don’t actually know if there’s a way to write that word in katakana, but… *shrug* Apparently in real life, Bowie’s cape said something badass like “breath of the dragon" and it was rendered in such a way that the letters, when read out loud phonetically, said “Bo Ee.” (I can't find the link where I read this originally, so I might be wrong about that.) I figured I couldn’t use that in my fic because I would have wanted it to be “Zig Ee,” and that didn’t fit the mood of the scene that I was going for.
The outfit Ziggy is wearing below the cape is this outfit from the 1980 Floor Show:
Tumblr media
I like this weird-ass outfit. Not much more to say here!
As for non-Bowie-related references, it’ll become more apparent in the next chapter, but Whatsername’s letter begins with “Where have all the riots gone?”- the first line of the song “Letterbomb” by Green Day.
If you’re keeping track of lyrical references- by all means, do so! There is a rhyme and reason to how I chose them- I’d say about 99% of the lyrics I reference in the narrative that aren’t from the albums that the fic is about are from the same two OTHER albums. Both are by the same artist, and both were released in the 2010’s. And yes, that artist made one of the albums that the fic is about. (I feel like this has narrowed things down maybe a little too well, but I don’t want to start the hunt for lyrical references until the story is over and they’ve all been used.)

The first official post.
I posted some preliminary work over on @qwertyfingers a few days ago, but I've decided to be organised for once and stick everything on it's own blog, so here's an intro post for organisational clarity. I'll be posting any and all updates about the project here, and that's all it'll be used for, to keep the streams from crossing.
What is this project?
I’m aiming to produce a full major arcana for a tarot, using themes, imagery, characters and places pulled from Everything Everything lyrics and odds and ends like interviews, song Q&As and so on.
Some major arcana cards have immediately evident analogues in EEs body of work. For example, The Empress is a ‘great mother’/'mother nature’ figure, protective and wrathful in turn, obvious parallels to Tin (The Manhole).
They will embrace me tonight as a A father and a son And I will carry homo sapiens through the night
Our Empress can be represented by the Fox, and potentially bring in some evolution imagery from Choice Mountain, Leave the Engine Room.
Judgement meanwhile is a representation of a rapture-like apocalyptic event that rewrites everything we know - which is heavily telegraphed in much Mountainhead but especially Wild Guess and The Witness.
Do you know what I saw? Nothing but endless fields of bodies swimming in the pit There was blinding light There were many eyes How could I know that? How could I know that? If I wasn’t there?
The role of Judgement in this deck will be played by this great accident in the pit. The exact visual it will take on is less apparent, but we have our basic inspiration already.
Other cards are more difficult. The Devil is hard precisely because there are almost too many options to draw from, but few prominent or recurrent enough to be the obvious choice. There are multiple places to draw lyrical inspiration for The Hermit from, but none of them provide any visual information. But this whole thing is a process and I’ll get there eventually.
Why are you doing this?
I had the initial idea for this project in 2021. I became really intrigued by tarots status as a sort of agreed-upon set of glyphs and stories shared across time and spent a lot of time researcing the different designs and meanings of cards throughout time. I don’t “believe” in the power of tarot any more than astrology (i.e. not at all), but I’m fascinated by the function of the imagery and art of the cards themselves.
During my reading I got to thinking about what I feel strongly enough about to consider creating a deck and I struck upon this. The first card I ever had a plan for was The High Priestess. Described as a sort of spiritual or social leader-by-example, a representative of the best of humanity and our collective knowledge. In a tounge-in-cheek way, that’s exactly what Come Alive Diana is about.
Her phantom head is thinking for all mankind I saw her portrait in the Mail Her phantom head was directing the holiest of hunts
I was immediately struck by the image of a spectral Diana cradling her own severed head in a pretty gruesome pastiche of the traditional depiction of the card, and haven’t been able to get the thought of it out of my mind since. It’s spiralled out of control since then.
So yeah. Mostly I’m doing this because it interests me on a purely artistic level, and because it’s a fun challenge to approach something really creative in a strangely scientific way. Like I’m dissecting and analysing a bunch of art I really enjoy and creating horrifying chimeras with the remains. I love it.
How will it all get done?
I’m a relatively experienced watercolour and gouache painter and illustrator, though I’ve never tackled a project this big before. The thing that scares me most is having to learn architectural drawings for at least two of the cards I have planned so far. But I look forward to it.
Right now I’m working on typing up all of the notes I have scattered between sketchbooks and notepads about my ideas for different things and making sure I know which areas need my attention most right now. Otherwise, I’m just vibing.
I welcome any questions or suggestions you might have in my ask box or messages! In an ideal world I’d like to complete all of the card artwork myself, but I have no pre-existing skill in graphic or product design and have no idea how to go about choosing a font or designing a card beyond the illustration and so if that’s something you do know about and would like to get involved please do.
Currently I have no plans of printing these up or making any overtures towards this being more than a casual passion project. My only experience with the professional art world is very informal local gallery shows and I don’t feel ready to change that!

Conlang Tips & Info
@typotripprr asked about this, but it would be way too long to comment (lol).
Tumblr media
Some Basic Notes
I think the first thing you should ask yourself is this : will it be for a fictional world or for the modern day?
This is important because if it's used for a nation/group in a fictional setting, you need to think about what sounds speakers can make (pitch for rodent-inspired characters, clicks for aliens, etc.). And if you are solely using this language for specific scenes, then you really only need to create words for those moments. You’d need words specific for that world, probably without a direct translation for extra realism.
If you're using this for the modern world and everyday use, then you'll need to add words we use day-to-day in the present (car, computer, soda, etc.). However, you can make combo words to make something new or the same words with multiple meanings.
You can also take inspiration from a lot of languages, but don't clutter them. My first conlang, Sukoig Nohaas (lit. Star Sound/Language) has been described as sounding like Japanese, Russian, Arabic, Polish, and quite a few others, but I actually didn't take inspiration from any of them. But it is a language that can be used IRL.
The Letters & Sounds
This is something you should start with, as it's the foundation of your words.
You can start with these kinds of charts :
Tumblr media
But personally, they're too complex and complicated for me, so I stick with basic, "a = ah, e = eh, i = ee, etc." which works fine.
Think about the sounds letters make. In English, "c" can be "k" or "s", but in Indonesian, "c" is "ch", and in Chinese, "c" is a mix of "s" and "z" (but that depends on dialect). You can choose to have certain letters with the same sound, but how the word is spelt changes which one is used. Or you can remove one entirely. In Gaelic, there is no "k", and they always use "c" for that sound.
If you can't decide what letters you want, you can do a couple things. If you have Scrabble, grab a random bunch of pieces and use those letters or find random letter generators/assign numbers to letters and use a random number generator. You can also choose words/names and take those letters. My second conlang, Kikke Molmi (lit. Name Language), only uses the letters in my full name : a, e, i, o, u, j, k, l, m, r, s.
Also, we have letters that make different sounds when put together. In Gaelic, "bh" makes a "v" sound. In Sukoig Nohaas, "sg" makes "sh", "vg" makes "th", and "gh" makes "ch".
But if you're making your own alphabet or using a non-Latin real script, you can have separate letters for the sounds. In Japanese, "し" is "shi" and "ち" is "chi".
While it doesn’t have special letters, this is Kikke Molmi’s script (based on things I like) :
Tumblr media
Letter Order
This can be important or it can’t matter at all. Having a specific formula for letter order helps the language stay congruent, but your language doesn't need to be.
For making new words with a specific order, there is a website called Awkwords that a lot of people use. Using Kikke Molmi as an example, it looks like this :
Tumblr media
(Note : V = Vowel, C = Consonant, N = Nasal, but you can add/remove.)
And by doing this, you can choose words in that order or random.
Some people just make up random orders. Using Sukoig Nohaas as an example :
Stet angha nen biirn'mius nen. Gholu stet haram sgapa ferharma nen yaun opur sgri (lyrics from a cover I made of a song called Still (Piano Ver.) by Rua feat. K. It's 1:15-1:25).
Grammar, Pt. 1
Okay, this part's a bit tricky.
You'll see examples using "S", "O", and "V", which means "Subject", "Object", "Verb". They'll be in the form of SVO, SOV, OVS, etc.
Examples :
English, SVO : The woman plays the piano.
Japanese, SOV : 私は猫が好きです(lit. I cat like. Means, "I like cats".)
Ancient Middle Egyptian, VSO (some are supposed to stack) :  𓇋𓅱𓅠𓅓𓈖𓀀𓋴𓏭𓏞𓀀 (lit. Found the scribe her. Means, "The scribe found her".)
Sukoig Nohaas uses OVS and Kikke Molmi uses VOS.
Additionally, if you're using a new alphabet, which way do you write it? Latin sentences are left-to-right, up-to-down, but Chinese sentences are (traditionally) up-to-down, right-to-left. Sukoig Nohaas is written in Latin order, but Kikke Molmi is written left-to-right, down, right-to-left, down, and so on. This was inspired by Atlantean from Atlantis: The Lost Empire (my favorite Disney movie).
(This is the sentence shown in Grammar Pt. 2.)
Tumblr media
Grammar, Pt. 2
Next, you need to think about when things like time/tense, adjectives, prepositions, and amounts. Using Kikke Molmi as an example, the full order is :
Time - Location - Verb - Amount (+1, +2)  - Adjective - Object - Amount - Adjective - Subject.
So a full sentence would be :
Liklu osura rasja orki aska askok ku (lit. Lunchtime eat dead dog happy cat. Means, “During lunchtime, the happy cat eats the dead dog”).
But are you going to form these things? Maybe you don't need adjectives or tenses or pronouns. Kikke Molmi has no tense (as you may have noticed) nor pronouns, as it uses names only and a term for the "unknown person" if the name is unknown. So no I/you/us/he/she/they/it.
As opposed to Sukoig Nohaas, which depends on root words and affixes.
For example, the root word "zusiefaur" means "romantic love", so "le'zusiefaur" is "lover" (le' is a person), "me'zusiefaur" is "to love" (me' is a verb marker, and then uses a suffix for tense) and ner’zusiefaur means “romantically lovable” (ner’ is an adjective marker). So these two languages are very different when it comes to that.
Also, Kikke Molmi’s number system are in the form of +1, +2, +3, but use symbols with 1 stroke for +1, 2 strokes for +2, etc., which can be confusing
Creating a Lexicon
When creating your lexicon, think about *what* it's for. In fantasy/sci-fi languages, focus on specific scenes and terminology. As for everyday use, I personally make words as I need them or find a list of words and fill them all out. You should definitely keep them on an online document or notebook and if you want to use it IRL, it's a good idea to make flashcards/quizzes to memorize.
Slang is a good thing to add. English uses “fruity” in reference to being gay, while Spanish uses, “Tener pluma.”
An example of Sukoig Nohaas slang is, “ner’nemmia ner’nuun fomaasg,” which means, “a dusty old book.” This is slang for someone who is outdated and shuns modern technology-- basically a boomer.
Actually Writing Things
You can easily look up "conlang exercises" and poems, but if you want a *real* challenge, translate a book.
As I showed before, you can also make song covers. Keeping the same amount of syllables is hard, though, so I separate each syllable, count them, and find my own words that match and share the meaning. It's tricky, though, and you'll need a decent amount of words to do so. Sometimes you need to make new words to fit it.
It's tough at the beginning, but it definitely gets easier the more you practice.
Prompts
Here are some prompts to get you started :
Pick 3 random vowels and 8 random consonants.
Choose 5 random or your favorite Pokémon and use those letters.
Start every syllable with a vowel and end it with 2 consonants (same or different).
Take real words and invert/scramble for a new word.
Use the first 2 letters of 6 people you know.
Only use the letters of your full name. (Credit : @/conlangprompts)
Find three random items and use those letters for a word.
And prompts for scripts :
Use your favorite things as letters.
Make every letter have a swirl.
Only use boxes and circles.
Draw shapes with your eyes closed and use those as letters.

Conclusion
Making a conlang seems daunting and intimidating at first, but it's super fun! I came up with Kikke Molmi in less than 10 minutes. Creating a language for a fictional world can be a lot harder because you need to obey certain rules, but Awkwords really helps with that! Don't stress and work at your own pace. Let your creativity flow, even if you don't see yourself as creative.
I hope this helps. And remember, don't stress and have fun!

omg hi @mgs3dickeater tagged me in this top 3 albums I've listened to lately weeeeee
Tumblr media
I had to limit this to a single everything everything album because it could've so easily been all everything everything. Buying tickets to see them in Boston has really sparked me listening to them more often again, although I never truly stop listening to them. I'll ramble a little more ABT each album under the cut but as for tagging others, hello and I'm sorry mewchies do this at your own whim. @dogboytits @neververy4 @gribffin @gotenerd
1. Everything Everything's "A Fever Dream" album. First of all I need to say what a pain it is to find good art of this particular album. This is my personal favourite album art of theirs, despite Get to Heaven's iconic look. I just listened to this all the way through last night and I was talking to a friend about how well this album encapsulates the whole vibe post-2016. I laugh that the lead singer says he doesn't consider ee a political band when this album and every single one before it exists. This album is apparently inspired by dance music which I guess explains it's many high energy songs among the tracklist. Personal favourite song on this album has to be "Put me together" the meaning of the song. Augh. I do understand this band isn't for everyone but if you can read the lyrics like a hymnbook alongside the songs playing then you really start to understand the smart lyricism and meaning that makes these songs so significant in my mind.
2. Kiltro's "Creatures of Habit". Songs from this album were my top played in 2022 and for good reason. I don't think I've ever heard something exactly like this band. Their songs really have this forlorn lonely feeling to them but the beat carries you through it. I finally got to order this on vinyl and I'm excitedly waiting for it to arrive now. Favourite song on this album is very hard to choose but I think it goes to "Mi Capitán". As a whistler I can't resist songs that have such a whistleable tune in them.
3. Steely Dan's "Can't Buy a Thrill" album. I understand what Araki was on about naming 5000 things from jojo after Steely Dan. They make such easy listening music it's really been something I listen to a lot while driving since a lot of their songs are long. Favourite song on this album has to be "Only a Fool Would Say That" as I love songs with trivia attached to them and recently I learnt that supposedly this song is a diss track to John Lennon. Based.

I love your writing! May I be bestowed with the knowledge of little facts about your wips while we wait? There's no rush and your readers know that you have a life outside of this hellsite.
oh wow i cant even begin to explain how good this kind of comment makes me feel, thank you so much for your support oh my gosh
And why yes of course you can, let me delve into the random world that is my drafts... (this definitely turned into more than just little facts but...oh well)
Trust Me I Know | Ronald Speirs x fem!reader
This one is kinda definitely one of my favourite drafts I have atm, there's not a lot actually written down for it but a lot of stuff in my head. It's a pining!speirs fic where he has no bloody clue how to deal with his feelings for the reader so he just kinda pretends he doesn't have any but it doesn't work the way he thinks it does. The reader, being too observant of him for her own good (because she too is quite interested in the lad), notices all the little looks he tries not to give her and the way he hovers in a weird places between too close to be just officer and soldier but too far away for it to be considered anything else. One day one of the men notices the way his gaze lingers on the woman and says to her "You know, I think Speirs might have a little thing for you Y/N. He seems to be trying to burn a hole through my skull with the way he's glaring at me." And she just kinda chuckles in amusement and looks Speirs dead in the eye before saying to the one who she's speaking to "Trust me, I know."
Forever | George Luz x fem!reader
This one is the big sad. Like it's going to tear peoples hearts out and it does not have a happy ending at all. It's framed around the song 'Forever' by Lewis Capaldi, especially the lyrics "nobody said that we would last forever, that doesn't mean we didn't try to get there" the first half to three quarters is going to be super sweet fluff and showing different stages of their relationship and then the end is just....it's gonna hurt i'm sorry to say
Big Spoon, Little Spoon | Joe Liebgott x fem!reader
Ahhhhh this one is going to be fun. It's a comedic fluffy fic to lighten the mood since pretty much every other fic i've written somehow involves trauma in detail. This one is definitely going to be a bit more lighthearted like my 'He Definitely Doesn't Hate Me' Speirs fic. Short and sweet likely. It's based on a night out where the reader and Joe's relationship is shown to be very fun and full of teasing. At the end of the night, Joe asks the reader if she's ready to head to bed and she turns to him in front of a table full of the other men and says "Can I be the little spoon for once?". He pretends to brush it off like it's one big joke and says to her "You're lucky I fucking love you, you pain in the ass." So that all the men can hear, before leaning down to whisper in her ear "but yes, just this once"
Glorious Basterds | Ron Speirs
EE this one has been imprinted in my brain since before i even started writing but i just know i have to get it right or it's going to drive me insane. It's a Band of Brothers/Inglorious Basterds crossover that i'm quite excited for. I'm still unsure at this point whether or not i'm making it a reader insert or a OC because as i said in a post the other day, this one is detailed and descriptive of many not nice things such as the main character being a bit nuts and very aggressively murdering nazis and it is going to be very descriptive of gorey subjects (as they do in the movie). Pretty much she's had her entire family killed and is very much in the middle of her revenge era. It takes place around Bastogne and onwards. The current main part of the first part of the fic (which at this point is going to be several parts i think) is the basterds helping with the capture of Foy. After this, there is an interrogation of some Nazi officers that had been running from the basterds as they know they have information they want. The main character is known as Azrael which is the name of the angel of death, and most people don't realise she's a woman until they see her in person. She's got impeccable aim and is known for being pretty creative with the way she kills people. In this one specific part she is the one doing the interrogation of the three officers and she kinda picks them off one by one in different ways while easy company kinda watches in complete awe. The story will follow mostly her but will include a relationship with speirs as it progresses
Hide and Seek | Joe Toye x fem!reader
This one is pretty cute ngl. It's set in the pub in england after they've come back from D-Day. Joe doesn't talk about his wife much to anyone because he likes to keep the idea of her to himself because she is just the most beautiful being on earth to him. It's just another fun little fic where she surprises him in the pub as she joined the new female trooper squad and it's gonna be a lot of fluff and a lot of fun as she gets introduced to all the boys who are super confused at this random stunning woman who's somehow made joe smile nonstop since she's arrived
See You Later | Ron Speirs x fem!reader
This is a mix of sad and fluffy. So the reader and Ron were not necessarily together but very much in love all throughout the war. Once it gets to the end and he says he wants to stay, she fights the feeling of wanting to beg him to come home with her and lets him go. They decide its for the best they don't keep in touch or anything because it would just be too hard. Now this one is gonna be an interesting one for me ngl cause i often write my fic based during the war and not after so it's gonna be a goodie. I've made it where after the war, the reader ends up becoming a famous performer and she gets a surprise birthday party thrown for her and all of the company are there except ron it would seem. But she gets a few very big surprises as the night goes on. One part of this fic includes the reader breaking down to her mother on the floor of their living room and says to her "I lost him mommy, and i don't think i'm ever going to get him back." As you can tell, it's def gonna be a good mix of the big sad but it ends on a good note i promise.
Weirdly, this one came to me while listening to the Moulin Rouge soundtrack, obviously something about Ewan McGregor singing love songs gets the cogs in my brain moving.
It's In The Way You Move | Dick Winters x fem!reader
Idk what's gonna go on in this one quite yet but i know it's going to be sweet. It's like the story of someone who's pretty emotionally unavalible but finds comfort in her friend and fellow officer Dick Winters. Things progress weirdly and they know they both love each other and he's said it several times but she hasn't. It's kinda just a story of how you come to realise that you don't always have to say the words 'i love you' to show that you love someone wholeheartedly.
Sometimes It's Not Enough | Lipton x fem!reader
This fic is going to be one expressing the story of someone who's fallen in love but has little to no level of physical touch as a love language just because they've never really known that kind of love before. It follows reader and Lip through a long relationship that they both have to grow through as it's quite hard for each of them having different ways of showing their love. One day the reader kinda loses it and just crawls into Lip's lap for a cuddle. It's def fluffy, and shows how love doesn't always have to include PDA and excessive touching for it to be deep and real.
I also have more but they are barely developed at all and there's really not much to mention about them quite yet.

@nyusenkas Thank you for the tag Nyusa!! Hope you're doing well sweetie 💕💕
Five songs I've been listening to lately! Actually not having been listening to any song in particular lately, so here's five songs I've been thinking about a lot in the last period. With self-indulgent descriptions because I never have anyone to talk about Vocaloid with and it's Saturday sooo
Meltdown - Iroha ft. Kagamine Rin
Easily my favorite vocaloid song ever. Iroha's tuning of Rin is flawless and makes her voice really enjoyable for me despite she's far from being my favorite voice bank. The music is amazing the lyrics keep me awake at night 10/10 play this at my funeral
Patchwork Staccato - Toa ft. Hatsune Miku
Self indulgent Akutagawa song <3 The music is wonderful and the sweet append + dark lyrics is such a haunting combo. Thinking about the “you, I'd rather you just stop existing” line every day
My Love is Hellfire - SLAVE.V-V-R ft. Meiko
Meiko is one of my favorite voice banks but it's so hard to find a satisfying tuning!!!! The tuning in this looks like someone was having so much fun pushing Meiko's voice to its limits, I get why the many high-pitched notes may come off as annoying to some but to me it's lovely to listen to!
Alice in Freezer - Orangestar ft. IA
Another song I think about non-stop, it's just... Ethereal. This is a relatively less known song compared to Orangestar's other compositions, but it's such a favorite of mine... This is what heaven sounds like in my mind. I really like when tuners do that very high-pitched thing with vocals, if that wasn't already clear by the last *check* well all the previously mentioned songs
Common World Domination - Pinocchio-P ft. Hatsune Miku
Pinocchio-P my beloved one of my favorite producers ever!!!! This song is simultaneously amusing and haunting and it's just. So good. Miku's dark append is great and producers should really use appends more because they're so good and so fun to experiment with!!!
Tagging with no pressure!!: @dopposboytoy, @faux-ee, @vero-niche, @lowestechelonabomination, @bethiewhimsy, @tired--turtles, and everyone who wants to do this ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

which ee songs remind you of saito... please go into as much detail as possible cause i just got into the band and have no idea which songs to start on but i like saito he's silly
also i like your art the lighting and colors are very pretty and the compositions make my analysis brain go brr, i'm not really sure how to draw but your art is the kind that makes me want to learn how so i can make stuff like it
idk i'm not really sure how to end this but tldr your art makes the happy chemical and you have good music taste
ahh thank you so much!!! I am really happy you enjoy my work so much T _ T as far as the ee + saito I hope you know you are enabling me so so much here and i am thrilled about it
warning for this being way too fucking long and also aitsf spoilers under the cut !
I’ll say it up front that a lot of ee songs can be analyzed in many different directions so i tend to have multiple characters in mind for any given song! Obv I’ll just be sticking to saito but its worth mentioning if you have differing thoughts on these songs :]
Hapsburg Lippp
the general tone of the song is VERY Saito, its violent and frantic in a way that really suits him. The song itself being all about nepotism and the corrupt nature of the wealthy ties in very well with how Saito used So’s status and money as a means of getting whatever he wanted. Also getting HUGE bonus points for the specific lines “If he's dead, he's not a deadbeat dad” and “I’m coming in cleaved in two” for lining up with So’s murder in the imaginary amv i got going in my head for it
Bad Friday
This song in my mind is like. Saito taunting Date throughout the course of the game starting from the initial body swap. I think the lyrics are self explanatory for why this is but the main bits are “you must have bust me out of my head/i’m wondering how did i get this blood all over me?” “shapeshifter coming for me”
SUPERNORMAL
-Two reasons for supernormal as Saito! one is just directly the topic of the song itself: supernormal stimuli, a form of exaggerated stimulus which elicits a much stronger response than the natural stimulus which that response was evolved for. You can connect this to Saito’s desire for that intense dopamine/adrenaline rush that he is able to experience through violence
This also sorta ties into the second reason which is that this song is allll about excess and the aggressive & visceral imagery used to describe that really reminds me of how saito speaks especially
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Crisis Over: For sure more of a Date song but it gets its own special place here cuz i did use the line “I declare myself a god and cut off my head so” as the main inspo for this piece
Awe/Arc: By virtue of this song being about a car crash involving the president it makes me think about the car crash in Resolution route with Saito in Renju’s body, but also the line “Shock and awe, baby, just takes all of my time” which is a reference to excessive and grand displays of violence makes me think of Saito as well
Final Form: Another one i think fits Date more (and even then its more on the abstract level since final form has a much different meaning) but I REALLY love the lines "Your first body, last body" & "And I've never been able to divide us" as like a Date Saito conflict thing
hope this helps!! if you do need a place to start with ee in general the way i and most other people i know started is by listening to Get to Heaven first then branching off towards their other albums :]

a theme everything everything keep coming back to is the idea of overwhelming brutality and destruction being sarcastically characterized as accurate and precise: 'we can all share the crater / the roof, there was an apple on it' from airstrike on your forehead (a title that itself obviously alludes to the same contrast) obviously invoking the image of william tell's famously accurate shot to describe the song's subject, the total destruction of an apartment block by falling missiles, the absurdity of the comparison made clear by the rest of the song describing totalizing, indiscriminate destruction: 'and everything just coming through the windows / and half the street was under my nails'.
we see it again in the kids are obese with one of my favourite lines the band has ever written, 'i think i found an atom under all this debris' -- the song is clearly written from the perspective of an agent of imperial warfare in one arena or another ('nothing has a consequence while i'm ahead / with telescopic vision and some infrared', 'tell me, which iraqi warlord gets a slap on the wrist?') and so the lyric about the atom has a number of different interpretations, all similar in their inane brutality. obviously describing the aftermath of a missile strike, the 'atom' the speaker 'thinks they found' (note the blithe uncertainty!) might serve as retroactive justification for the bombing, or as a new justification for a further round of brutality (hey, there's still an atom left! better get them again!).
and this kind of apotheosizes in night of the long knives -- 'yes the bomb may be falling, if it lands where you stood / man, i know, it's a real big shame about your neighborhood'. the lackadaisical, casual phrasing makes this lament obviously disingenuous. this is a threat. this is the culmination of the idea, because here the speaker is clearly aware that the bomb that 'lands where you stood' will not just kill you, but the people you know, the world you live in. your implicit destruction prefigured as equivalent to the destruction of your home and people, prefigured as something that the perpetrator can say 'that's sad' about and never think or worry about again. unlike the other two songs, the dissonance isn't indifferent or paradoxical, it's obviously gleeful. all pretence dropped, mask off. shame about your neighborhood.
for obvious reasons i've been thinking about this running theme in EE's music a lot lately. i really like how they talk about warfare and violence in general, in sudden disruptive fragments that break apart songs and lyrics. it's true to life

4, 5, 11, 25, 35, 48!
4. Is there a song you love but don't like its music video? Omg so many... I'm very peculiar about music videos (though it has become better with time). I used to not watch any music videos at all when I had strong feelings about a song. Let's use EE videos as an example. I love Supernormal and Breadwinner, but Jonathan has a special taste for very weird videos that are just disturbing at times haha, so these are not my faves. I have a strange dislike for Coldplay's Charlie Brown video and I also hate the one for Adventure Of A Livetime.
5. Is there a song you don't like but like its music video? Damn, this is a difficult question. I don't think I can answer it because why would I watch the video in the first place if not for the song... I'm sure there must be an example, but it doesn't come to mind rn.
11. Favorite songwriter? Damn, difficult again. I think it's often hard to point out for bands because each member usually contributes something. For example, Yannis said in a live stream that he gets to play the guitar part Jimmy came up with in a song. So how to distinguish that? On the other hand, we know that Yannis comes up with all the lyrics and I am so in love with most of them. He's a poet. Also, for bands there are just crucial things people contribute. Imho, a Coldplay song that deliberately excludes as much as possible of Jon's genius is not a good song. He is the magical ingredient in all of their music. When it comes to solo artists, I think Aurora is a genius. There is nobody like her and nobody has such a strong artistic vision (and stubbornness, rip to her management... only Magnus can deal with her). Her lyrics and the unique soundscapes she creates are just astonishing. Florence has a great way of transforming everyday, human and mundane themes into something universal and big, make personal problems and experiences into hymns that should be sung by a big choir and performed with a huge orchestra to call out the gods tbh (not being poetic here) so that's definitely a talent.
  25. Is there a song you used to like but can’t listen to anymore because you associate it with someone you don’t like? No, I don't have a song that I shared with a friend, family or a loved person that I no longer like. However, I do have a lot of songs that carried me through very dark times. I feel like they have soaked up my sadness and hurt and now they are drenched in these memories. Part of that is why I moved on a little bit from being a Coldplayer. Though I still enjoy the band and keep a blog and participate in the fandom; I rarely listen to their songs anymore. Especially Ghost Stories and AHFOD carried me through some of the worst times in my life. 35: A song you like in a language you don’t speak? Haha... I got to say most of the music I listen to is in English, with extremely few German songs (mostly from my teens/childhood) and some very old Russian songs (also childhood memories) and I do speak all of these languages. What immediately comes to mind is this funny gem by Coldplay. Some songs of course have parts in another language that I don't understand, especially songs on Coldplay's Everyday Life Album, like Arabesque and Bani Adam بنی آدم I also watched that one documentary about Olympos and it had this song called Έρημα βουνά. I have absolutely no idea what it's all about and it's definitely not what I normally listen to but it got stuck in my head. Some of the first music I ever had were the example songs that came with my version of Windows back in... maybe 2008 or so? To this day I still like I Ka Barra (Your Work) and Din Din Wo (Little Child) by Habib Koité and Bamada.
48. Who’s an artist you think it’s criminally underrated and deserves more recognition? *inhales* *screams* EVERYTHING EVERYTHING!!! They are so amazing, it took them one day to completely convert me into a huge fan, tbh. N and I fell into the EE rabbithole almost a year ago when we wanted to see/hear more of Jeremy, because there was not enough of him at the Foals concerts for our liking. N already knew their albums and I knew Night of the Long Knives because of Mark Owen's Spotify playlist, but when we started watching their concerts we realised that they are an absolute gem. Each member is so goddamn talented, their sound is catchy as hell and yet absolutely unique. Everyone go watch Everything Everything, become obsessed, join the Get to Heaven cult etc. A few links for anyone who wants to check them out:
EE live from Granada Studios
Violent Sun
Desire
No Reptiles
Night of the Long Knives
Leviathan
Distant Past (Lollapalooza Berlin)
Thank you so much for asking, N! <3 I've written WAY too much, so thanks everyone who read this, hope you found at least 42% of it interesting.

It was a week, of course. It was definitely a week. And how could it not be with Linzy's birthday and Thanksgiving going back to back?
So, on Tuesday of the week, the day before Linzy's birthday, Kimmer's painting, crafting, collaging, and arranging with stickers and photographs, assembling Linzy's birthday card, a pretty big construction, maybe four times the size of a normal birthday card. When she's done, she hands the card over to me and we talk about where text should go on each page. After that, I take it to my office and settle into the couch with my notebook in hand and the card in front of me on the storage ottoman. I start drafting a message that'll fit into the spaces across the pages.
Tumblr media
Eventually I show my final draft to Kimmer and we're good to go.
The next morning we get up early and I begin writing into the actual card, modifying what I'm writing to fit the twists and turns of the spaces, modifying my writing as I gain one or two better ideas.
Tumblr media
In the meantime, Kimmer's making one gigantic envelope from a book cover that used to belong to one of Linzy's text books in highschool.
Works and fits perfectly. 😊
Then Kimmer's off to the kitchen to make frosted lemon cupcakes we'll take to Linzy's place a little later.
And yes. I get to lick the beaters. 😁
By 10am we've picked Linzy up at her place, parked along the waterfront, and are walking into the Edgewater Inn to their restaurant, 67.
We're here for a birthday breakfast!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We have a great time, by the way. Better than we expected because we expected the place to be packed. Not sure why. Of course this was just a normal workday, albeit the day before Thanksgiving, so there weren't that many people on hand for breakfast and we got a table right next to the window overlooking Elliot Bay and, for some reason, an entire platoon of ducks along with a coupla monster seagulls loitering on a nearby ledge.
We brought Linzy's mega birthday card along so she could experience it at the table as we waited for our breakfasts to arrive. Since the text I wrote into the card in some places curves and turns around some of the shapes Kimmer crafted into the card, it was funny to watch Linzy read it as she rotated the card this way 'n that.
It's an annoyingly exhausting experience that's much more fun to drop on someone else than it is to be the drop-ee.
🤣🤣🤣
Tumblr media
Okay so Kimmer's in a (believe it or not) online class she's gotta attend from noon to one for her doctorate studies. So we head back to Linzy's place where Kimmer sets up in the kitchen while Linzy 'n I hang at Linzy's workstation in the living room, sharing music videos and movie trailers with each other.
When Kimmer's done, it's time for Linzy to open our birthday gift to her that she's been wanting for quite some time. A particular microphone that seems to looooooove Linzy's voice. She used one at Chateau St. Michelle maybe a year ago at a Little Lies gig.
Makes a huge difference.
Then we're off to the Late Night Vintage Market on Capital Hill but, since it's barely two in the afternoon, it's not open yet.
Of course. 🤨
So we stop a few doors down to browse a sort of novelty shop and then head off to Fremont to indulge the Fremont Vintage Mall.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fremont Vintage Mall, by the way, is a dangerous place to visit. I can't think of a reason to go there... but once there I can think of plenty of reasons to buy a lot of what's there.
Nothing practical, of course. Nothing in the Need category. Totally everything in the Want category.
At one point, Linzy's walking around with a bunch of stuff including a mini poster featuring the lyrics from one of Taylor Swift's songs. Really great design. Between the text and the illustration it was definitely quite something to behold.
With, of course, a price tag to match.
Eventually, all that walking around with seriously cool product did the trick. Which is to help avoid making impulse buys. So everything went back from whence they came.
☹️
Tumblr media
Now we've got Starbucks on the brain so we drive over to that one along South Lake Union where we hang for half an hour.
Four thirty, we're back at Linzy's place for those frosted lemon cupcakes Kimmer made.
Super tasty!
Then we settle into the couch for the final two episodes of Daisy Jones & the Six, a series we've been watching as a family across most of the year.
youtube
By six-thirty it's hugs and kisses all around as we leave and Linzy gets ready for friends coming over for her birthday Late Night. 🥳
On our way home, now, our focus turns to Thanksgiving so we stop in at Trader Joe's and Grocery Outlet for our next-to-final round of Thanksgiving dinner shopping.
Wait. Next to final?
Yup. Because grocery stores are open for a bit on Thanksgiving Day.
So first thing Thanksgiving morning we're cleaning the house. Vacuuming. Wiping surfaces clean. Cleaning mirrors. Putting stuff away. Dishes. Empty and load the dishwasher. And so on.
The day's list also includes setting up our artificial Christmas tree in the living room.
Except.
We have two artificial Christmas trees. One that's been at the house for years. The other that we bought for our apartment when we lived on Capital Hill. Now, the one we bought for our apartment is the narrower of the two and Kimmer wanted me to set up that narrow one in the living room.
Hmmmmm.
Thing is that both trees were disassembled, fit into large cardboard boxes, and stored in the garage. Under that condition, they seemed identical to me in their boxes so I made my best guess, pulled one into the living room, set it up and...
Yup.
This was not the narrow one.
So I took it down, put it away, set the other one up.
BAM. Perfect.
Then, because all the lights strung into it were dead, I pulled them off in preparation for new lights I'll pick up by 'n by.
Tumblr media
Okay so "by'n'by" ends up being 2 in the afternoon, scooting through the front doors of the local WinCo in search of the remaining needs for the day's Thanksgiving dinner cooking. Combined with an unsuccessful hunt for Christmas tree lights. 😕
Quarter passed four (after dropping Thanksgiving groceries home and doing a quick turnaround) I'm picking up Linzy at Northgate, dropping us both back at the house by quarter to five, and welcoming our dear friends and their two little ones a touch after five.
In the meantime, Kimmer's got the Challah rolls, the fruit salad, and the crock pot potato slices done and ready to go. Our friends brought the Thanksgiving ham, the mini-marshmallow-topped whipped yams, and a couple ciders. Of course we've also got a gaggle of various wines, one or two of which are immediately mixed into an improvised evening's drink special.
Kimmer heads off to get herself ready after a full day of Thanksgiving prep, I do a thing with clean and dirty dishes, and Linzy takes to setting the dinner table, whilst our friends drape our Christmas tree in Dollar Tree fall leaves 'cause I never could find the lights.
Later, Linzy rifles through the sheet music in our piano bench and settles down with some Twinkle Twinkle Little Star variations by Mozart that start out simple as can be while quickly working themselves into a wicked complexity of piano composition.
After a little of that, Linzy asks for my Charlie Brown book that has the sheet music to Christmas Time Is Here printed inside. She gets right to work feeling out that Christmastime vibe on the keys.
youtube
Over in our family room, a pair of little ones have taken to our exercise equipment, one just barely big enough to work the pedals of his machine, the other content to balance atop hers simply to watch and enjoy the experience.
In the oven, the ham and yam dishes are warmed up. Now we're taking a second pass at the yam dish, using the oven's broil setting for a few minutes to give those mini marshmallows atop the dish a golden brown sheen plus an extra lovely taste.
The kids also open our toy box in the family room. The "toy box" is actually a leather storage ottoman. Inside they find squirt guns they'll play with later. They also find plastic toy plates and utensils along with various plastic foods. So they work together "cooking" different things in our microwave (unplugged) and our toaster oven (also unplugged).
Later that evening I find a tray of four pieces of plastic toast in that toaster oven. All that was missing was some melted plastic butter. 😉
Tumblr media
Okay so now we're saying a Thanksgiving prayer then dining buffet style, simply enjoying the meal, the company, the friendship, the fellowship, and the laughs.
After dinner it's a belated birthday present for the older brother. Kimmer found (at GoodWill, I think) an FAO Schwarz Premium 24-Piece Kids Spiral Art Set. It comes in a wooden case with a handle. It pretty much looks like a briefcase when carried that way.
The spiral art set's an immediate, unequivocal hit. It thoroughly engaged the young sir who couldn't seem to get enough. He started cranking out spiral art that very moment. 😊
Later, the kids remember the water guns they discovered earlier and quickly determine they'd like to play with them outside. So they're quickly bundled for the cold, night air, I fill up their water guns and lead them outside while everyone else settles down for relaxing adult conversation.
Tumblr media
Now, I don't have a squirt gun. My job is to supervise and make sure everyone stays safe. Is safe.
Immediately they point their water guns to the sky and trigger streams and streams of water, referring to those streams as "fireworks". Next, they direct those streams of water at our red metal wagon from close up, referring to that activity as "cleaning". Eventually, they think to squirt each other... with time-outs called whenever it was time for me to refill their plastic weaponry.
It didn't take much longer for them to figure out they could both shoot me without any possibility of getting a face full'a water in return.
So they did that a bunch.
An activity they referred to as "FUN!!!!!"
After a while, the kids returned their water guns to our sink and got some help taking their coats and scarves and hats off.
Linzy played with them once they settled back into being indoors. Showed them funny videos and used one of her photo and video apps to accessorize their faces with hats and mustaches and anything else they could think of, along with filtering their voices in seriously funny ways.
Tumblr media
For a break, Linzy showed Noah a coupla chords on his new ukulele. It was seriously sweet to watch them because Linzy's a music teacher on the side at a private music school. And while she does have adult, young adult, and teen students, she also has children down to five years of age. ☺️
And she.
Is wonderful with them.
❤️❤️❤️
Tumblr media
Now, Kimmer's in a doctoral program where, it turns out, there is no rest for doctoral students. So yeah. Kimmer's got more studying to do even on Thanksgiving. She's enjoying the evening so much, though, that it's not 'til after 830 that we all say our goodbyes, at which point a little voice was heard calling out from our front yard
"Byee!!! I hope we come back and do this again for Christmas!!"
So.
Christmas Day plans are already under way.
Apparently.
🤔🤔🤔
Tumblr media
9pm Linzy 'n I are heading down the freeway to drop Linzy at her place and grab her gear for the next night's gig 'cause I'm gonna pick her up near the Northgate Light Rail station earlier that day.
So the next night we're at Tsillan Cellars in Woodinville for a two-hour set that's very much appreciated over lovely wines and wonderfully delicious appetizers.
There's even a huge Christmas tree set up a few feet away next to her.
Tumblr media
Great crowd, by the way. They applauded after every song and filled her tip jar when the performance was over.
Later that night, once Linzy's home and now I'm home, Kimmer 'n I settle in for our first Christmas movie of the season: The Man Who Invented Christmas.
youtube
It's a classic for us and it gets that whole Dickens Christmas vibe a'rollin.
So yeah.
That's the latest on our holidays so far.
☺️😁🤔🥳🤣🤨🤯☺️❤️

🎶 dealer's choice! is there a tiny line or detail that you remember being really proud of (either in the last chapter or the entire thing as a whole) that you never got a chance to talk about? and if so, what song would play in that moment?
omg so sorry i was letting this marinate in my ask box for a few days... this is dangerous bc i have so many little parts that have either been inspired by music or i have set music to them in my brain so i'll try to keep it brief but we all know i'm horrible at that by now
i think i mentioned before that i'm trying to keep all the music/song title chapters/references etc close to the year the story takes place, so at present 2009, but i was only a kiddo at that time so i'm not super attached to songs that came out at that time, since i'm more of a 2010s kid, that what i tend to think of when i make character playlists and the like!
find my ramblings under the cut :) mostly james and roxy centered bc i can finally release all my feelings about them together ehehe
first james and roxy are soooo songbird by oasis you all are just going to have to trust me ok. just listen. share this space with me. thank you.
rames first kiss: the only song i was listening to while i wrote that entire scene was dig what you dug by wallows and i straight up stole one of their lyrics. sorry not sorry. anyway the story line of the song isn't super important but the prechorus/chorus are very them to me. i need you all to see the vision thank you.
anyway i could just hear the echo-y back and forth of the guitar in my head during this scene!!
idk if i mentioned this but i was listening to parallel by heffron drive the whole time i wrote the planetarium scene. i think the stars/planets metaphor/motif/whatever when it pops up in like romance novels or fantasy stories or the like is sooo fucking cute so i just wanted a little slice in my story. just a teeny tiny bit. also the "what if the one who was meant for you, was all along right in front of you, you just didn't see it was there all the time" COME ON?? ITS THEM! THEM! THEY!
like if this were a movie i imagine her just sitting on the floor of the juiter room and scribbling away at her book while this plays in the background as she thinks back into her past and wonders about james... RAH!
rames pool kiss. last man in the world by the band camino. self-explanatory. the second she grabbed his tank top and whipped him around the chorus of this song would play in a really wonderful teen cw romance drama.
and last one for now (probably) i feel like roxy really loves love song by sara bareilles just because i say so :) i imagine she likes to play it on the piano a lot when she plays for logan while he studies
ee sorry i didn't really follow the prompt i set for myself i kinda went a bit nuts but yeah :) this is where i'm at :) thank you so much <333

For the flower ask meme~ camellia and papyrus perhaps?
camellia ⇢ what were you like when you were younger? do you think you’ve changed a lot?
when i was a kid... oh, i was definitely pretty different. i was much more outgoing, more loud and extroverted? i had the energy to run around and have a baller time. entering my teenage years, i developed anxiety :') and tbh probably had undiagnosed depression the entire time. i became the quiet kid, the "weirdo" at school.
i don't think i'm too different from my teenage self tbh. i've just sort of... matured, i guess, instead of being emotionally unstable and a mess. i've also grappled the worst of my anxiety (still bad but not AS bad as before!!) and got on antidepressants so i'm a lot sunnier than i was like... literally a year ago ahfdnghdfg
DEFINITELY very different from when i was a child though. she had hopes and dreams... she wasn't bogged down with 300 diseases... she didn't develop allergic rhinitis which proceeded to fuck up her entire life :')
papyrus ⇢ if you put your ‘on repeat’ playlist on shuffle, what’s the first song that comes up? what do you like about it / associate it with?
metroland is burning by everything everything
THE WAY I SCREAMED WHEN THIS CAME ON SHUFFLE, GOD BLESS YOU RNG!! oh my god, this song changed me. maybe my second favourite ee song, only defeated by schoolin' :') i actually associate this song strongly with myself
when raw data feel came out last year, i grew very attached to metroland is burning. it felt... cathartic. the way the song flows feels very controlled and calm, but there's a visceral, burning anger simmering in the lyrics, stewing in the way the words are enunciated. and that just felt like a balm against my soul. i don't wish to divulge too much personal information, but due to circumstances, i was often overlooked in my family due to other pressing matters taking focus, despite also having a lot of issues that needed to be acknowledged when i was younger. so this song, about resentment and wanting to burn it all down? yeah, it clicked with me
"but they don't give a flying fuck about us" yeah look how hard i can Relate(tm)
ty for the ask, anon!!! :D
