Hamuko regarded the change in weather, thoughtfully weighing her options. The autumn chill was starting to creep in, and maybe it wasn't the best idea in the world. But her friend — Ryoji — seemed so enamored with every experience one could have. He had such a profound appreciation for every little detail, as if he was experiencing it all for the first time.

"A little rain never hurt anyone."

Without much warning, she took him by the wrist and tugged him outside. The rain wasn't falling hard. Still just a light drizzle for the time being.

As long as they properly warmed up after their little adventure, they would be fine.

Her smile was bright even as the hair began to stick to her face. Hamuko couldn't recall the last time that she enjoyed the feeling of the rain hitting her skin, reminding her that she was alive. The beginning of October had left her in such a haze, a shell of her former self, and now she was coming into her own once more with this simple shared experience.

She hoped that he was enjoying himself as much as she was.
