i should be working but i just thought of another sick fanfic idea

based on a tiktok audio from the lego movie-

but after sirius runs away pandora starts getting really worried about reg she knows his family is pushing him to get the dark mark but she also knows he’s good no matter how buried it is pandora also happens to take divination so she comes up with a plan and tells regulus she had a vision of him becoming good and leaving his family behind

its not much but it’s enough of a push for regulus to actively start looking for a way out he gets better he tries to unlearn all the things his parents pushed on him he can’t do it alone so he starts trying to reconnect with sirius and in the process befriends james he shares his art with james he’s getting better he’s finally accepted that he wants and needs out of the house of black

but then it all comes crashing down he finds out pandora lied and because he’s convinced he’s fated to be another horrible member of the house of black he shuts down stops talking to everyone slips back into everything he was trying so hard to unlearn his self hatred makes him spiral

its a month before christmas break and no one can even get near him they’re panicking knowing if he goes back to that house he’ll get the mark sirius tries to talk to him but they get in a massive fight regulus screaming about how sirius abandoned him because he wasn’t good enough

its a week before christmas break regulus hasnt talked to anyone since the fight sirius is spiraling he’s given up he’s going to lose his little brother for good this time james corners regulus at first it seems like it’ll be another fight but then regulus is breaking down he’s scared he’s tired he’s only a kid and he’s scared

and what follows are the must painfully (/pos) deep lines that have ever been put in a animated movie about legos

More favorite shots from Army of the Doomstar!

Post below the cut because it’s long and it goes without saying: Major spoilers for Army of the Doomstar! Note: I did increase the exposure on a few of these because there were a few very dark scenes.

I love how they showed so effectively how isolated and depressed Murderface was becoming. He doesn’t even have his usual sneer, he just looks so defeated which is especially sad; Murderface’s character was always able to complain and moan but his spirit is so broken that there’s nothing to even say, all he can do is look down.

The fist or the hand?

Murderface looking trapped here always gets to me. The more times I watch this, the more feelings I have about Murderface and how beautifully they portrayed his arc. This is another of my favorite shots in the whole movie.

This one really hurt my heart - Nathan seeing Magnus at the very end, and Magnus looks so kind and soft. This is how Nathan thinks of and remembers him, despite everything that happened. Nathan loved his brother so much and Magnus didn’t realize it (at least not until it was too late and taking himself out of the picture was the only option he saw).

Comparing that to how he recalled Magnus at the beginning when he collapsed at the concert shows that what he saw at the end were his true feelings - he forgave Magnus and was able to remember him with love again. (I actually think Magnus is still alive but that’s another post.)

This shot of the Whale Goddess really took my breath away.

Something I’ve always really appreciated about Metalocalypse is how they draw the regular jackoffs. They always represent lots of diversity in the crowds without making normal people into caricatures. Every one of us can see ourselves out there in the crowds of the Army of the Doomstar.

Do you know of any articles/posts discussing the fact that the majority of shows with a diverse cast are primarily police dramas? Brooklyn 99, The Rookie, L.A.’s Finest etc.

Hmmmmm so on the one hand the television industry is a bit of a hellscape but honestly I would question this assertion like yes the correlation is frustrating but just because police shows often feature actors of color, doesn’t mean that most shows featuring POC are police shows. Like okay off the top of my head, here are a few:

Honorable mention to NBC’s Found starring Shanola Hampton, imo the show took a little bit to find it’s footing and it’s only not a police show on a technicality but the core cast has done a solid job in their first season and they got picked up for a second season, so I’ll recommend it on this list

For the Mario Bros x Brother Bear AU: During a fight against Bowser, Luigi ended up dying but he reincarnates as a wolf to stay by Mario’s side who was devastated by the loss of his little brother but could sense that Luigi was somehow still wandering in the same plane of existence as him and finds his reincarnated brother who he names “Whisper” because he doesn’t realise the wolf was Luigi at first.

My idea is Luigi is killed, but unknown to Mario, is reincarnated as a kitsune by the Star Spirits for his bravery.

Mario, devasted by the loss, is filled with anger and remorse. Wanting revenge, the Star Spirits turn him into a tanooki to teach him a lesson.

At this point the story would have to be changed. I can't think of any child character Mario would be forced to team up with, aside from Bowser Jr - but as a different animal. I suppose Bowser would be the parent "bear" Mario kills in revenge for Luigi...but I'm not sure on that idea.

I do also love your idea; imagine Mario and Luigi go through the adventure and Mario doesn't realise the kitsune is Luigi, and Luigi doesn't recognise Mario (since he's been reborn in a new form) ;_;

With the lessons of finding peace learnt, the Star Spirits reveal to the brothers who the other is. Shocked, they know they can't lose each other again, but Luigi cannot return to the mortal world.

So Mario makes the decision to remain a tanooki so they can stay together ;_;

RTD is so in love with David Tennant that it makes him look stupid, huh.

#listen friends i dont know what to feel #i love everyone involved #I'm so happy that Donna has her memories back and will spend the rest of her life with her best friend by her side #but that ending felt like it was straight out of a christmas Hallmark movie; my teeth ache from all that saccharine sweetness #I'll be able to justify it if RTD is setting the stage for bringing Tennant and Tate into his UNIT spin-off which seems to be in the works #if that's not the reason it's hard for me to swallow this plot twist with the biregeneration #firstly: RTD did something similar at the end of the fourth season—splitting the Doctor to “give” one version to Rose #it's a bit annoying to see him essentially do the same now by letting another version of the Doctor to stay with Donna #secondly: I missed the emotion in this #I spent a week bracing myself for heartbreak but we went a bit too far in the other direction #we got a cutesy ending where everything resolves through a deus ex machina #yet it’s those bitter and grief-soaked moments are what RTD has always excelled at #when it comes to the Doctor's regeneration and farewells to companions #it's hard to feel much about this plot development #some things should remain final and some goodbyes and endings are unavoidable #the conclusion of Rose’s arc (both from s2 and s4) or Donna's ending in s4 #were among the most emotionally intense moments in the history of television #I missed a bit of that here #perhaps if there were more bitterness in the 14th Doctor's ending if he had to pay some PRICE for this biregeneration #(like not getting his TARDIS #being told that the Fifteenth takes over the regeneration ability #and the Tennant Doctor will die of old age) #emotionally it would have provided viewers with a cool punch #without that it seems like RTD wanted to have his cake and eat it too #have a new Doctor and give his old characters a last-minute happy ending that doesn't make much logical sense #I was hoping to feel more considering how much I love these characters #but my main reaction is an eyeroll #on the positive side I really hope to see Neil Patrick Harris in the show again he was a great villain #and Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor is already so freaking great!!! <3 #doctor who

maturing is realising Clive Durham is not a villain in Maurice's story but merely his own
