actually i love it when the characters are all lying. i love it when they all have secrets and none of them trust each other. i love being given clues that solve puzzles i haven't even been presented with yet. i also love it when i get chills watching a scene without even knowing what it means, and when i do know what it means, i get even more chills. i love theorizing and thinking and solving and coming up with possibilities of where a story might be going. i love it and i will do it for free, for fun, for no real reason.
this is a mystery appreciation post!! if you appreciate mysteries and secrets and stories that slowly unravel before you, please interact!!!

I really like the Ahsoka show, but for the life of me, I can't understand why Dave Filoni decided that Sabine needed to use the Force. She was such a cool and complicated character in Rebels and the fact that they shoved some Force-sensitivity in there really bothers me. She doesn't need the Force!! In Rebels, her backstory was made to compliment Ezra's. Where Ezra lost his loving parents, Sabine still had hers, the lack of love haunting her during the series. Ezra had to learn how to fight while Sabine had to learn peace. Ezra was a Jedi and Sabine was a Mandalorian.
They were supposed to be friends despite all the differences.
Now, its less of "they trust that the other one has their back and they rely on the other's skill set to cover their own weaknesses" and its more like "they both have have the access to the same skill set but one of them can barely use it so now there's added drama of one feeling inadequate."
She didn't need the Force to be cool. She was cooler without it.

people seeing gifs of the 15th doctor having gay little moments and going "ohh what's this show? i gotta watch it" is literally ending me not just coz of the concept that anyone can be unaware of doctor who but also bc like. while i do think it's a show ppl should watch in its entirety. DON'T DO IT FOR GAY REP LMAO. like it literally does have a lot of lgbt rep even all the way back in season 1 of 2005 fame but watching 13 seasons of doctor who coz something gay happens in the new eps is like. idk finding out there's a new pride and prejudice adaptation with a gay character in it and going ohhhh that sounds fun:) guess i'll go watch every adaptation ever made

Just finished my first playthrough of BG3. Romanced Lae'zel, but ending up turning into an Illithid because the idea of making Orpheus or Karlach do it didn't sit well with me (or my character).
I told Lae'zel to leave with Orpheus in the end (I heard she wouldn't stay with a ghaik anyway, which she's valid for, but also, it doesn't feel right to ask her to stay when I know how much her people mean to her). And like-
Her face before she flies off---
She looks so heartbroken and sad.

Re: the debate going on again about if Persona should focus more on adult characters, I think it's interesting because i don't have a firm stance either way. There are some plotlines that I think would hit harder if the characters were adults, or plotlines I would pursue more thoroughly if they were. For example, I think the Phantom Thieves as college students would have been amazing, but I don't know how Joker's criminal record would work with that unless he's a dropout, or if you removed the school game mechanic, which is so vital to modern Persona games?
On the other hand, I also think teen/young adult protags hit for such a wide audience because they are struggles the target audience has either already experienced or currently is. It's funny, because I think any character worth their salt will resonate regardless of age or other demographics. I'm no longer a child, but I still want to protect Maiko in P3 due to her retable familial struggle and her inability to understand due to her age, or Zenkichi's division between what is right by the law and what's right in his heart. I don't need a debilitating illness to sympathize or relate to Chidori, an outcast who finds solace in art and the only people who understand her pain.
it's a very nuanced conversation and I just don't see a right or wrong answer, the same way I feel about most anime nowadays. I think a more diverse party in general would be a dream come true (not just for age and gender either, I think it would be amazing to have someone who isn't just Asian or white, or more explicitly LGBT+ characters)! I just wanted to make a long post because the discussion is fascinating and enlightening, and 6, if they did an older cast, wouldn't be the first game to have playable adults either. What are your guys' thoughts?

okay but ayan losing what might have been his only queer role model??? the one person with whom he could trust his whole identity? the man who reminded him his differences were okay and brought him to safe friendly places and reassured him, just by being alive, that it was possible to live and be happy in the world as a queer adult?
ayan losing not only his uncle, not only his mentor, but the man who may very well have been his single source of hope that it really does get better?????
god that flashback in the cafe really brought it home to me. the heartwrenching magnitude of the loss for which ayan blames suppalo. god no wonder he hates them with all his heart.

this isn't a question about your rewrite but as you are The Warrior Cats Pro i figured id throw it out there... why is it that, even though there have been way more books taking place at the lake territory, both in the main wc series and beyond, than the old forest territory, but the forest territory is still so much more memorable and always what i think of when i think of warriors, and the lake feels so uninteresting and forgettable?
because the lake map FUNDAMENTALLY sucks baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalloons.
In a series about border drama and forbidden relationships, they have put a huge, impassable obstacle smack in the middle of the map. You ever heard the expression, "Tall fences make good neighbors?" This is supposed to be the BAD NEIGHBORS series and they have put the world's tallest fence in the game.
The lake was a fundamentally bad idea. Simple as that.
It was so bad I reworked the Lake Map for my own rewrite.
I made more contested land, such as putting field maples which produce syrup just beyond the Wind/Thunder gorge.
Added Northern Islets and Southern Delta which have value to several clans
Expanded RiverClan's territory so they can hypothetically reach ProtagonistClan, RE: Northern Islets.
I need to make Draft 2 but I also added more uncontested landmarks akin to the old Forest landmarks. For example, ThunderClan now has a patch of old-growth forest. Places like the Owl Tree and Snakerocks are super important as flavorings.

okay I’m going to gather my thoughts a little
I excitedly said to my girlfriend on the phone “hey that’s level 5 in the corner!!” at that previous game- we all knew they recently came back to developing in the west. I didn’t get my hopes up about a new layton or even a second katrielle game.
I saw the art style and thought hah imagine.. it looks like Layton right after L

I love Joe so much because he's gay but he doesn't fit the idea so many people have about being gay, from penetration to gay bars, and he finds himself stuck in a world where he doesn't see anyone else inhabiting and it's just him. Just him, alone, even when he falls in love, because what the world says he's supposed to be and supposed to like isn't him.
Ugh, the amount I understand and adore Joe because it's so hard to look at the life you're expected to live if you label yourself and realize you don't want it... and realizing that the label that fits you doesn't help because there are so many things and expectations attached to that label.
Joe just wants to be gay and not go clubbing and not have penetrative sex but he can't say that because it's seen as unacceptable, it's seen as not being gay, and he doesn't know how to say those things to Army who does like those things and does fit the expectations of the label and who expresses that he enjoys all those things that Joe Doesn't.
Alex going and talking to him was needed because Joe needed to tell someone and we know that Alex can accept him and not just accept him, but support him and help him be honest with Army. Because Army needs that honesty, he needs to be told.
It's about being honest with the people you love, honest about what you want and don't want, communicating because you love them and trust them and want them to know you, not just doing things because you feel an obligation because of a societal label.

Do you have a least favorite (or one you simply don’t like) character from aot?
this is hard bc after the finale theres not a character i necessarily dont like anymore lol. i guess my least faves were zeke (he will never be redeemed to me he killed my wife's husband okay :/// also ill never forgive what he did to miche!!!) i didn't like armin much either on my first watch but then over time he's grown on me especially after the finale :( his mental breakdown in the finale was just...so raw and real and related so much oh man.
and honestly i never liked eren too much (he just yells a lot in s1-3 LOL and my faves are all the quiet stoic types so) but then s4 happened and well listen. he was hot ok. im not immune to s4 manbun eren :/ (also he was loud but s1-3 eren is very cute he's precious i'm so very conflicted with him)
also didn't like reiner because of his interactions with historia it just felt offputting/bordering on creepy and weird sometimes and i never found it funny lol and i dont think we got enough time with porco for me care about him much.
DESPITE THAT i wouldnt say i hate any of them?? they have qualities i like and dont like that's it really. oh i guess i hate floch but i feel like that's a given LOOL
