okay listen just because i picked the most used neil fancast DOES NOT MEAN THE REST OF THIS LIST IS BORING!!! he’s just so neil-coded to me in deadly class! i even put him into a photo editing app to change his hair and eye color and he still fits!!! plus the top right pic is exactly how i imagine a nathaniel smile.

andrew/aaron minyard - vlad konoplev

i’m gonna give credit to @kalu_aftg on tiktok for this, because i saw this actor in their tik tok. he’s in a russian series called my biggest secret (i watched a couple clips but i haven’t seen the show)

but come on!!!! this is andrew minyard!!!! and always with andrew fancasts it’s difficult to see them as aaron but i feel like this could go both ways, especially in the bottom right pic. identical, but different vibes, yk?

dan wilds - kiersey clemons

i first saw kiersey clemons in new girl as kc and she feels so dan! then i saw the pic on the top left and i was like YES! this. is. dan. she seems very sweet and friendly but i know she could give a great game face.

nicky hemmick - conor husting

even his pics give off major nicky vibes. he also has a very similar hair length to what i picture nicky with. fun fact: he’s also half-mexican on his mother’s side which is strangely accurate lol!!

allison reynolds - jessica lord

i’m gonna be honest i just searched up “blond actresses 20’s” and that top left photo popped up and it was just so so so allison!! i included a couple pics of her in the ballet movie “find me in paris” because i couldn’t find a lot of pics of any of these actors in active wear and this felt close enough.

honestly i got this idea from an instagram live he did where he was yelling about being 6 foot and my brain was like “that is kevin day IN THE FLESH”. i originally saw him in bottoms and he totally cracked me up.

matt boyd - daniel ezra

like come on!!! his smile is so bright and inviting, it gives off such strong matt energy. he played spencer james in all-american and i haven’t watched it but ive seen ppl say good things. bonus: he’s the only one i could find with any form of a face guard (even tho nick galitzine also played a football player in bottoms lol)

renee walker - sydney park & lana condor

okay SO my criteria was soft-looking people that can look sharp in other pictures, and i came up with these two! it’s kinda hard to picture renee without the pastel/white hair but let’s suspend disbelief.

seth gordon - young david beckham

speaking of suspending disbelief, LMAOO. just hear me out, okay. seth was a fifth year, slightly older than the rest of them, so i was looking for that + blond buzz cut and this is the result!

Sangyeon - childhood friend to lovers: please this trope fits him so well. Growing up with him til one day you start falling in love with one another and you can't see your life without him 🥰

Jacob - acquaintances to lovers: he'd fit this trope so well, having the same friend group but you two never got close but he was always there for you in bad times and that's what makes you fall for him

Younghoon - arranged marriage: okay listen… just imagine being arranged to marry one another either for social advantage of your families or etc., you two might not get along but the more you have to “act” like a married couple the more you fall in love with each other

Hyunjae - enemies to lovers: yes, I firmly standby Hyunjae being in this trope. Like both of you constantly bicker and poke fun at each other, until you're both alone and maybe the tension you had between one another was not hate… but love 🥴

Juyeon - strangers to lovers: he truly strikes me as that guy who you occasionally see in a coffee shop or your favorite hangout place til he musters up the courage to ask you out on a date you know?

Kevin - best friend to lovers: oh he's totally this trope for me. Like at first you guys don't even see any potential relationship between you two until maybe one day he asks if you wanna be more than friends 💕

Chanhee - fake dating: oh… he would be really good with the fake dating especially if the circumstance involves making sure some asshole doesn't try anything with you. He would go through all the lengths to make sure you're protected and well… ends up catching feelings in between (and yes, I do have a smut version of this)

Changmin - dance rivals: this trope is really for him. Just imagine that's been your life together for years, just trying to one up the other until you're actually partnered with each other… especially when it's a spicy choreography 😮‍💨

Haknyeon - summer romance: I know I wrote a smut version for this for my smut tropes but tbh I still see this trope being so fitting to Hakyneon. The sweet boy you meet during your summer getaway? and after one rainy night you can get your hands off each other? yeah sounds like him 😌

Sunwoo - exes to lovers: idk why, but for some reason I totally see him in this trope especially when you two break up due to unsolved issues but once he sees you with someone else he comes springing back to win your heart again 🥺

Eric - roommate to lovers: he really gives me that roommate vibe and naturally being around each other so much one of you is bound to fall for the other. Doesn't help in your case if he walks around the apartment shirtless 👀

king kyle & a human!s/o

request: could you write about king kyle falling in love with kupa keeps princess/prince? author's note: reader has the title "princess" it's the only part that is gendered tho. this was also originally a oneshot that's why some of the bullet points r weird lol

Due to your status as Princess, Kyle is aware of who you are.

Your Kupa Keeps’ diplomat, meaning he has in fact communicated with you on multiple matters. He knows you are a respectable person, and do your job with diligence, but since you are a human, he doesn’t think of you in high regards. You’re his enemy, it’s how it is written in the stars.

He’s only ever communicated with you over letters, and due to the fact you guys are left in your kingdom means he hasn’t seen much of you outside of that.

That’s until the new threat of Clyde’s army comes into play.

With his supernatural army and the fact that he holds the stick, the humans and elves are forced to work together.

Kyle calls for a meeting in his kingdom, and when the humans arrive, you instantly catch his eye.

You don’t carry yourself with excess pride, and you're quite pretty. (For a human, his mind desperately supplies.)

You sit in the front row, next to the other princess and it causes Kyle to lose his train of thought occasionally.

Kyle explains his plan: to send Commander Douchebag to get The Sparkles, and he will embark to get the Federation and the pirates.

It’s a decent plan, but the Grand Wizard finds a flaw with it anyway.

“I won’t let you go to get the other factions. You’ll somehow mess it up!” The Grand Wizard stands up, bringing more attention to his point. Kyle laughs at that, “You think you’ll do better? You will just scare them away. You couldn’t be nice if it cost the universe, and hey, this does.” “No, I wouldn’t go either; Princess [Your Name] is a good diplomat, they should go.” Cartman argues, motioning towards you, who is still sitting next to Princess Kenny.King Kyle then looks at you, sitting politely and looking at the conversation occurring; when you notice his staring, you smile at him. He sighs, really not wanting to entertain the conversation with the Grand Wizard, and comes to a decent conclusion. “They can come along.”

That’s how he ends up on this journey with you.

He’s not thrilled you’re coming along, but he’s grateful it’s not an annoying human.

He walks swiftly, shoulders high; out of the corner of his eye, he sees you struggling to keep up, but he doesn’t slow down.

“We will head to the Federation first, and then speak to the Pirates on the way back.” He explains, not leaving room for argument; you nod along, agreeing.

It’s a tense atmosphere after that, as you walk behind him. He wants to talk to you, compliment your skills, just something.

The realization that you probably don’t want to be there strings a bit, but he can’t even argue with you about it.

Until you finally talk again, asking him, “what’s his plan?”

“I just planned to explain the severity of the situation to them; they should be willing to help after that.”

You laugh at that, and it’d be quite pretty if you weren’t laughing at him.

“What?”

“The Federation might not be willing to help; their leader isn’t the biggest fan of The Grand Wizard. We’ll have to offer up a trade, maybe fuel for their ships or new weapons they might need.”

As you explain exactly what will need to be done, Kyle is sort of glad you came. He doesn’t know if on the spot he’d be able to come with an exchange like you do; he sees why you’re their diplomat. Kyle has written many letters asking for services, but with pen and paper he has time to think over his words. He doesn’t express this much gratitude though; instead offering a small thank you, and slowing down his pace.

With your advice and presence, getting the Federation to fight alongside you is smooth sailing. Like you had predicted, Kevin Stoley did ask for something in exchange: he needed any parts from the crashed spaceship both of your kingdoms had, and finer weapons to provide the soldiers he’d be sending into this battle. You both agreed, giving him the meeting place, and were on your way.

Leaving the faction, Kyle walks next to you this time.

“Look, I know our kingdoms hate each other, but you really did help back there.” Kyle admits, hoping you hear it and that the wind is too loud and covers his words at the same time. At that, you smile up at him, not expecting his kindness, “It’s not a problem. Managing foreign affairs is my job.” You guys continue walking, and he can see you staring at him out of the corner of his eye. Your features aren’t painted with any disgust, and he hopes you don’t notice how pink his face gets from being under your attention. However, he hears the snap of a branch, and his attention turns to where the noise comes from; there, in your path, stands one of Cylde’s undead soldiers. Although Kyle has no doubt he can fight one soldier, he would prefer to avoid any potential injuries. He goes to hide behind a tree, but realizes you’re still walking, stuck in a daydream. Swiftly, he grabs your wrist, pulling you flush to his chest and covering your mouth with his other hand to muffle the yelp you let out. The zombie turns in your direction, but gets bored quickly when he doesn’t see anyone. Kyle’s heartbeat speeds up, and he prays his cloak muffles it enough so you can’t hear it. However, he loses that anxiety when he realizes he can feel an embarrassed heat on the hand covering your mouth, realizing you are just as flustered as he was. It makes him want to laugh, but he holds it down in case the zombie returns; he can’t bite down his smile though.When it’s safe, he lets you go, rolling his shoulders and standing straight up. Able to look at you again, he does see the heat in your face, and shock in your eyes. “Pay better attention,” he teases, voice light and airy, laughing slightly as he starts to walk and you run to catch up.

The pirates go even smoother; with Kyle being related to the captain, he doesn’t need to bribe them as much. He promises shiner swords, and that’s all it takes. When the captain calls you pretty, Kyle feels something bury in his stomach; he’s unable to pinpoint the emotion, but it disappears when Captain Ike stops talking to you.

You run into a few zombies on the way back to the Drow Elf Kingdom. He and you still duck behind trees in order to prevent unnecessary fighting; the proximity always causes him to get embarrassed, too aware of how close you are to him.

When you too return to the Elf Kingdom, Douchebag still hadn’t returned with the Sparkles; apparently they needed more than just shiny swords.

You have to return to the Grand Wizard, to speak about the terms and agreements. King Kyle feels empty when you aren’t there to keep him company, even if you are quiet.

He doesn’t see you again until the night you meet up to fight Cylde; however, his thoughts are still consumed by you.

He has an inkling that maybe, just slightly, he has a bit of crush on you. He tries to deny it. His knight, Stan, asked him about the journey, and Kyle couldn’t bring himself to talk about it, more specifically you.

He isn’t supposed to like you! You always weren’t supposed to be kind and pretty and become the only thing he can think about, which is untimely due to the war at hand!

You’re in armor when you arrive at the fight, forgoing any gown you’d typically wear on a normal day; he imagines a dress could get in the way, similar to his cloak. He thinks you look nice in your attire, but doesn’t say anything due to how close you stand to the Grand Wizard.

You, him, and some other soldiers start to make their way through the back, climbing the wall; Commander Douchebag had been sent to go through the inside, in order to open the doors and eliminate any threats inside.

When all of you meet up again, before entering Clyde’s throne room, you send him a smile, and that’s all he needs to feel confident in this battle.

However, he doesn’t have to worry about fighting, because Commander Douchebag is called to fight the zombie of an old friend, and chooses you as his partner.

Two things happen in Kyle’s mind at once: holy shit I’m going to have to watch them get hurt, unable to do anything and holy shit they look really good in battle.

(Maybe ignoring all those zombies was a bad idea)

You and Douchebag defeat the villain, and the Great Wizard banishes Clyde for good.

Kyle notices your wounds, the blood pouring from various cuts on your body, and wishes he could do something about it.

Instead, all of you go to get the stick, when Princess Kenny grabs it, preparing to fight for his right to it, due to his parentage.

Commander Douchebag returns to battle, and many of your allies go with him. King Kyle fights first, using his strongest move then returning to your side.

“Holy shit, you’re really bleeding, here.” Kyle goes to look through his bag, finding a health potion he was saving for this battle. He thinks about how if he didn’t know you, he’d be drinking this himself; he’s glad it’s going to you. Weak from blood loss, Kyle has to help you drink it. One hand cradles your cheek, while the other slowly tips the potion down your throat. He’s delicate with you, hand placed gently but firm to guide you to drink. He’s glad everyone is distracted with Princess Kenny to see the interaction, even if he knows it’ll be one he thinks of forever. The potion helps with the bleeding, slowing it down enough he can help sit you up. He moves you slowly, not wanting to cause you any more pain. “Thanks, you didn’t have to waste that on me,” You murmur, voice low with a lack of energy.Kyle smiles at you, grabbing your hand to rub your knuckles, “I wanted to.” Had he met you before the fear of Clyde’s power, Kyle thinks he wouldn’t have cared to look at you for long; his brain would’ve clumped you in with the rest of the humans. He’s glad that he met you now, where some humans have gained respect in his mind. That might be the one good thing to come from this war. “Are you guys gonna keep making out or watch Douchebag destroy Princess Kenny?” The Grand Wizard calls out, annoyed by your guys’ lack of care for the battle. Kyle did say some humans.

i kind of wrote a NYE flash fic last year! it's not very introspective tho. neil is just happy and getting a smooch :)

however, you got me thinking about how that juxtaposition would be for neil during the holidays. it got more christmas-y than NYE-ish though, so apologies if you're not rly into xmas... I'm usually not either lol. buuuuuut i wrote this:

andreil, rated t, 400 words / ao3 series: flashes of intimacy

There are no flights this year. No Exy, either. Wymack changed the codes to the court before he and Abby left to celebrate the holidays in the Bahamas. Neil does have one new wound: a paper cut he received while Nicky taught him how to wrap presents. It’s deep enough to need a bandaid, but not enough that he’ll remember it this time next year — not the way Evermore haunts the edges of Neil’s mind.

The memories come to him in hazy fractures, seconds-long intrusions that make his stomach roil. The phantom of the Ravens’ grueling schedule is messing with his sleep. Neil tries to lie still in the dark bedroom, but he keeps Andrew up too. Or maybe Andrew just has his own ghosts. Regardless, Andrew wraps himself around Neil from behind until late in the night, a silent commitment to rest even if sleep itself won’t come.

Those are just moments, though; blips in a winter break spent at the Columbia house. The present day is lazy and cheerful and warm enough to chase away the chill of the past.

“Are you having fun, Neil?” Nicky asks.

They’re in the living room, and the space is lit only by the television and the colorful lights on the tree. Earlier, when they’d driven around looking at other people’s Christmas lights, Neil had to sit half in Erik’s lap in order to cram four people in the backseat of the car. The lights were pretty. One house had taxidermy deer that disgusted Kevin but fascinated Aaron. Another had a sign with instructions to tune into a radio station where they were broadcasting music that synced up to the lights flashing on the house. Some of the streets they drove down were lined with houses lit up so brightly that it nearly gave the illusion of daylight.

Andrew pokes Neil in the cheek, bringing him back to the present once more. Nicky stares at him expectantly. There’s a mug of cooled cocoa in his hands. The credits roll on a claymation movie that Neil had only sort of watched through drooping eyelids. Andrew’s arm is a heavy, warm weight across the back of Neil’s shoulders, and his fingers occasionally trace the seams of Neil’s shirt. He hasn’t let go of Neil since they got home.

“Yeah,” Neil says. Nicky grins. Andrew draws circles against Neil’s shoulder. “Thanks. I really am.”

Okay, I'm answering this as an excuse to talk about fun stuff, but like, you seem to go after people for drawing nsfw art of Tim?? Because he's like, canonically ace or whatever? So god knows why you're asking me about my favourite ships and shit, given what I write and post about. But I like yapping so I'm gonna yap anyway. But yeah, dude, ace people can fuck.

I am an ace person who fucks. And I have some crazy ass kinks.

Anyway, so, my favourite ship is weird, because I like to THINK that my favourite ship is Jam, but I'm just so very wrong about that and my actual favourite ship is Jaylex. It's my actual favourite ship purely because of sorry it's locked, honestly. I got to make them SO fucked up together, and that's just my favourite thing to write, incredibly fucked up characters being toxic and fucked up to each other, and to me Jaylex are so perfect for that. Neither of them are good people, neither of them are monsters, they both just incredibly fucked up people who don't know how to ask for help/think they can fix themselves without getting help or doing any of the work for it. And Jay being a character who I see as like, almost completely incapable of being vulnerable except through sex and kink is just so fun for me. I love exploring characters and their issues and stuff through smut fics, it's so fun to do "character studies through sex".

Thats how I see them anyway lol. Sorry it's locked has completely warped my sense of what's canon and what's not, like, I completely forget that sorry it's locked stuff isn't canon to MH sometimes 💀 (I'm trying SO hard not to go off on another rant about sorry it's locked and Jaylex. I love them so fucking much. They're so fucking toxic 🥰)

As for other slenderverse series I've watched, I watched and loved EMH, it's still one of my favourite series even though i only really write fics about it when they're vent fics (Vinny and Evan are just soooooooo easy to project onto, y'know?). I tried watching tribe twelve but just couldn't get into it (the observer/kevin is so cute tho) and my boyfriend and i recently watched most of Whispered Faith, but mostly just ended up sticking it out for Lexx, because she's fucking gorgeous.

Oh yeah I also watched mlanderson and I really liked that. AND [My movie 14] which was super cool and a newer one. These two are my favourites behind MH and EMH.

Neil is demisexual!! This one is canon but I needed to put it out there lol, and along with this he uses he/they pronouns and is, in my opinion, cis (tho he just doesn't understand gender and doesn't really care)

Andrew is trans!!!!!!

Probably discovered he was trans at like 11/12 and Cass fully accepted him (however Drake took advantage of this and that's why he struggles really bad at times with his identity)

He has always gone by Andrew

RENEE AND ALLISON ARE T4T LESBIANS!! THEY ARE SO GAYYY AND PRETTY RAHHHHHHHHHH

Dan and Matt are both bisexual <3 Matt came out to her like two months into their relationship really scared but she just looked at him and went 'lmao me too'

And kissed him because

Kevin struggled with his sexuality for a very very long time, he didn't even understand what love was of any form after being manipulated by Riko all his life

He eventually realises his greyromantic but in the case he does feel romantic attraction he doesn't really consider the gender of the person

Aaron has known he was bi since like middle school my guy is just very chill about it, drops it into convo randomly one day and everyone just stared at him in utter shock before he wordlessly lifts up his backpack (to reveal a bi pin)

Neil giggles (he noticed it weeks ago but never told anyone)

Katelyn is trans!! She has gone by a few names and sets of pronouns and Aaron has never and will never have a problem with it

Jeremy is bisexual and so is Jean <3

And ofc, Nicky is gay. He knew since he was a kid just subconsciously but only started labelling himself as gay when he first heard the word (say 8 or 9?)

Ahhhh Jefffffffffff:(

He means everything to me.

I’m gonna try and write this without any ‘spoilers’ that may come true in the show.

He’s just trying to get his work done and Babes over here having a hissy fit cos he saw Jeff and Charlie hugging. Babe really needs to get himself under control cos this ain’t a good look on him. Like I understand that Charlie isn’t really explaining things to him, and outright lying in some cases.

But what’s Jeff ever done :(

Jeff’s right tbh. I understand that X Hunter are like a family and they look out for each other, but that doesn’t mean that everything’s free reign. Like Jeff’s also an employee here that’s practically being threatened by one of his coworkers. And no one’s really doing that much abt it.

I hope Jeff actually goes on strike lol.

Looking at next episode just makes me more sad too. Granted, we don’t know the context behind why they think Jeff sabotaged Babes car. Maybe there’s an anonymous tip. Maybe Way manipulates someone. Who knows???

But again, it feels kinda exclusionary. Like I understand that cos Jeff’s the new guy then there’s more cause for caution with him. But also they’ve been letting Charlie just wander around doing fuck knows what all this time. So clearly they’re not too cautious about security.

I still wanna know if Jeff did anything about his little vision he had earlier on. Did he try and do something to stop it. Doesn’t look like it. But maybe if he did, someone else could have seen that and thought he was sabotaging the car.

What I want to say over all tho is that I trust Jeff. He’s mine now. And if Alan doesn’t want him then me and Jeff can just be friends and chill together without him >:(

OH, and I LOVE KIM!

He’s the best. He’s came all the way here and just wants to race. But Loser keeps getting in the way trying to throw money around to win.

Seeing Kim deck Loser square in the face was the best part of this episode. Chefs kiss. He should do it more often.

Also he reminds me SO much of Kevin day. If Kevin was into motorsports he would be Kim. Eat, sleep, race, repeat.

Honest opinions on Wrestlemania XL Sunday:

Drew v Seth: I was so happy for Drew when he pinned Seth. Seth was taking those hits like a boss but Drew was honestly slaying. Drew’s entrance looked cool asf but wth was Seth’s😭!? Him tweeting during the match was actually so funny. But anyways, DAMIAN CASHING IN WAS AMAZING AND JUDGEMENT DAY CHEERING TOGETHER AT THE END MADE ME SO HAPPY!!! (I expected Damian to cash in but I was glad he did) Match was still really short tho.

The Pride v The Final Testament: I like both teams but may I say, Scarlett and Karrion looked badass. Some of those hits had to be painful, on both sides. Also Karrion just picking Scarlett up at the end was lowkey sweet. Again, it was really short.

LA Knight v AJ Styles: That flip from AJ over the top rope was smooth. Both of them got in some good hits. That Avalanche German Suplex was actually insane. I was honestly rooting for AJ(who was looking like an absolute daddy btw😩) and I’m genuinely sad he lost. The end was lowkey stupid tho.

Randy Orton v Kevin Owens v Logan Paul: The start was genuinely funny, Randy getting on the back of the cart and riding along. Teaming up on Logan was a good idea. Also like, what did KO expect? Ofc Randy was gonna try to RKO him. They all got some good hits. I was NOT expecting IShowSpeed to be in the suit😭🤣! I was pulling for Randy but I still didn’t mind Logan retaining. Honestly he makes a good heel.

Bayley v Iyo Sky: Bayley’s wrestling gear looked great but Iyo looked lowkey drunk walking down(lol). They both gave us a good match tbh. Bayley was being an absolute beast, taking those hits pretty well. And I’m so happy that Bayley is finally getting what she deserves, she absolutely deserved that win!

Cody v Roman: The orchestra for Roman’s entrance was pretty cool honestly. (He looking fucking hot as ever btw🤭 also he stuck his tongue out so omfg, he cannot keep lookin like that😩). (He could call me a little bitch if he wanted🤞). Jimmy and Jey coming out to fight was pretty cool. I was just waiting for Solo to show up lol. John Cena and Rock coming out to face off with each other was great! I was hoping Dean was the one to come but Seth is alr ig. Roman choosing to hit Seth over Cody was a nice “Fuck you” for when they were in Shield. I actually cheered when Taker came out!!! Both Roman and Cody were absolute BEASTS during the match. I love Roman and I would’ve loved for him to win but it was for the best.

Overall: The matches were a bit short but holy shit was it worth it. The main event was amazing and so chaotic!!!

anyway lol! maybe a spicy take but…

if we’re blaming dean for kevin’s death, then we’ve gotta blame sam for charlie’s and benny’s, cas for mary and jo and ellen and anna and bobby and sam (s5) and honestly i love you cas but i could probably go on :/

but seriously, i don’t actually *blame* them for these deaths bc while dean/sam/cas’s actions helped create the situations that got each character dead, their actual deaths were on other characters’ choices or even their own (sam, benny). the blame game is just too simple for how complicated spn is. like if you blamed them for every death that occurred after a sequence of events that included their actions, for every death that they were indirectly involved with, it’d just be impossible to count. and that’s just not productive or fair imo yk 🤷‍♀️

yea i definitely get what you're saying. there are a lot of factors playing into things, and chain reaction domino effects that lead from one character making a decision to another character way down the line killing someone. that doesn't necessarily mean the first character is responsible for the death or should be the one that is blamed for it. they couldn't have foreseen how events would transpire. however, i do think, like you said, these situations are more complicated and nuanced. and in some scenarios the "blamed" character did play more of a part in the death of another character. but i don't think in the case of kevin's death dean should be shouldering the blame or responsibility here at all.

like, the stuff with blaming dean for kevin's death feels unfair imo because well, when dean made the choice to let gadreel try to save sam (and sam still !! had to say yes himself!) dean didn't have all the facts. he thought gadreel was ezekiel. he thought this was a friend of cas's that he could trust. he didn't know he was opening the door to someone with ulterior motives, who might try to hurt people he cared about. and secondly, kevin's death was coming, one way or another, because as @aliveboydean says in this post, metatron wanted him dead and wasn't going to stop until he was. so if gadreel hadn't gotten him, metatron very likely would have killed him.

to address another seemingly similar situation where i come away feeling differently: sam and charlie. i have to say i kinda do "blame" sam for charlie's death, because he roped charlie back in. she really would not have been there or been in that situation or been a target for the Stynes had sam not specifically invited her to come help them. and while it seems like charlie and kevin's deaths are comparable, a key distinguishing factor is that one would have been safe had they not been in that specific situation that another character (sam) put them in, while the other always was in danger simply for being who they were. charlie's death is different from kevin's because kevin was always in the line of fire, always had a target on his back by simply being a prophet. so many people wanted to kill him, he wasn't uniquely in danger being around the winchesters. and he wasn't put IN danger solely because of dean's actions. he was always in danger, the whole time. no matter where in the world kevin was, people were going to be out to get him. and i'd argue he was safer in the bunker (and therefore around sam and dean) than anywhere else in the world. dean had no way of knowing gadreel would kill kevin! but charlie was just a regular person who no one cared about killing. if she hadn't been brought in at that time and made a target for the stynes she...most definitely would still be alive.

SO, i think at the very least dean is definitely allowed to blame sam in-world and be pissed at him. (tho sam is obvs still not the one that killed her. but i can understand if dean felt resentment toward him for her death). but. yea i kinda do see sam as more responsible for charlie's death in this case than dean with kevin's because the scenarios and key factors are different. that's what i feel a lot of people don't get when they want to issue blanket statements of who to blame for what and who did worse. there's nuance! and two seemingly similar situations are not always a 1:1 comparison. (this isn't directed at you, just a general sentiment abt fandom)

(and i think a similar situation for cas is mary's death. and i fall somewhere in the middle for him. he knew jack was dangerous at the time. he should've said something. he's still not the one who killed mary though and he couldn't have predicted that outcome)

THE ROMANCE IS CANON, BUT AT WHAT COST? (but it's canon?? but what at what cost? IT'S CANON!)

... Because for as much time as they spent apart in Season 2, in the eyes of the creative team, it was Loki and Sylvie's romance that drove the events of Season 2 to their bittersweet conclusion.

In an interview with Collider's Therese Lacson, executive producer Kevin Wright disagreed with the suggestion that their relationship was less important in the second season, saying:

"I would disagree with the assessment that we downplayed the relationship. They may not be stopping to kiss. Everything is driven because of the deep emotions that these two people have for one another. Everything that happens this season, I think, is still a ripple effect from Sylvie feeling deeply wounded and saying like, “why aren't we seeing this the same way?” This person is probably the first person in her life she ever opened up to. And Loki trying to get this person who he's seeing is making the same mistakes that he made in the MCU 10 years ago, going down these blind paths of vengeance and anger and all this, and he's trying to prevent this person from going down that path, because he deeply loves them and cares about them."

For Wright, the life-or-death, timeline-spanning consequences of Season 2 meant there was less time for the cute and cuddly moments, but that doesn't mean their relationship is any less romantic:

"You get that in Season 1 because they get stuck on a train together on Lamentis and you get to have that romantic moment, because two characters who at that moment can't stand each other, then have to spend an afternoon together, and an evening on the train. Or they get stuck in the void together. They just don't have those moments to get on the same page [in Season 2.]"

For as much as Wright sees the plot of Season 2 as stemming directly from how much Loki and Sylvie care about each other, that's cold comfort to fans who were hoping to see the two gods of mischief ride off into the sunset together. For Wright, though, this is what made their romance more realistic, as he told Lacson:

"I think it felt natural, and more realistic, and messy, and I think that was our thing is like real relationships are messy. And we wanted to do that and not force something that felt inauthentic just to like service fan dreams of seeing these two happy together. They both need a lot of personal work to get to a place where they could have a good relationship "

So Wright is basically saying that the romance is still there, but they didn't have a moment like in Lamentis or the void to talk about it. So it would unrealistic to bring it up... which I could totally understand IF the show should last 12 episodes and we would have actual time to drag their relationship and IF we didn't have...

tsc thoughts under the cut cause i finished

i literally cannot wrap my thoughts around my overall opinion of it i feel like i absolutely need to reread it first

but also i need to reread tfc because I MISS TFC SO BAD ➡️ girl who reread it last may. i do think i spoke tsc into existence by doing this because i hadn’t looked at the trilogy since 2019 and then all of a sudden i decided to reread and found that unfortunately they still make me batshit crazy. what is in those books.

however i do like tfc better 🤷🏽‍♀️ so if i did reread tfc after this and read tsc again i would just want to read tfc again

this is not fair to say at all because tfc is a whole trilogy and this was only book 1. and i rlly need to start saying aftg instead of tfc cause it’s getting confusing because like i do think tsc is better than tfc (the first book). however i just…like aftg better? i feel like it’s more fun which is probably a weird thing to say considering it’s a lot More than tsc is. and obviously this book was more about jean’s recovery. but more happens in aftg. idk we’ll see tho

i do love jean and the trojans but i miss neil and the foxes every page. i feel like it’s harder to connect to the trojans because there r so many of them. and idk sports so the three coaches is probably normal for a team of this size i really wouldn’t know lol but i couldn’t keep the coaches straight in my head either

point is the foxes r my everything 4ever. i love jean jeremy cat and laila and i see what she was trying to do by introducing the floozy line (cute name) however i dont really have a strong feeling about them because we met them for like 5 minutes

i think cat and laila were absolutely perfect. they’re given a lot of depth especially cat and they’re so important to me. they’re better here than in fanon i think but i feel like fanon did get their personalities and relationship down mostly right. apart from cat not just being called alvarez LMAO bless neil only calling her that and fanon having no choice but to do the same because no one agreed on one single name. i remember sara was one that i saw a lot but i like catalina way way better i love cat <3 i love laila <3 their friendship with jeremy <3

also jean rooming with cat and laila (and then jean) literally perfect omg. no one ever put that in fics but i think it was the best thing to do. sorry for having to compare tsc to fanon im not trying to say one is better than the other at all but what you have to understand is how many fics about jean post tkm are out there and how many of them i read so my mind is going to go there. i wasn’t rlly obsessed with jerejean but i was (and am) a jerejean girl. and i had (have lmao) very high standards for fic so i stand by a lot of those fics WHILE still standing by everything tsc is

by which i mean i cannot get poc jean out of my head thanks to that one fic where he is moroccan. in that same fic jeremy was also spanish and i sort of adopted that into my image of them so i am trying to let go of it but i mean even the hatfords being pakistani still lives in my head despite how unlikely it is. and most of the time i pictured jeremy with golden hair (sometimes curls) so even though i think nora’s compromise being to have naturally brown-haired jeremy bleaching his hair is hilarious and iconic. sort of impossible for me not to picture him with golden hair.

however when jean was all startled and went “blond” when he saw jeremy’s hair. reader i died

english major jeremy is still a gift to me personally

kevin bargaining and arguing for his history major..my baby…the mentions of kevin and kevin’s actual appearances in tsc are everything. the postcards and magnets…kill me

every time neil showed up i lost my mind i love him SO MUCH!!!

see my problem is i wish the foxes showed up more even though it makes no sense for them to. i want kevin jeremy and jean in a room together. i will kill for jean and allison interaction especially if they talk about renee (yes i am holding onto renison still). i want jeremy and cat and matt and dan to hang out. i need laila to meet andrew. i need more renee I LOVE RENEE we did get a good amount of her though i think. she was everything.

genuinely think the way jean and renee was handled here was so perfect. i totally see the merit of it if they end the series together. i also see why jean might end the series without being with anyone romantically. but narratively i cant help but feel jerejean is what makes the most sense. the reason i liked them in the first place is their narrative appeal. and they were genuinely so good in this. so. idk. can’t think about that too much.

i have some problems with the writing like i did with the og series but um the thing is i cannot view these books objectively because they impacted me so much at a young age. i will say i wish tsc could have had a professional editor lol.

i also have some issues with the pacing tho because i did not expect it to end there at all? im so glad she started it where she did but when it ended i was like WAIT WHAT

i have a feeling the reason riko did what he did with the backliners is because he saw jean looking at kevin. could be wrong here but judging from how often jean talks about learning his lesson about looking at guys too long. well.

the main thing for me is that i don’t see how we’re going to get to championships in 2 books if this book only covered till the summer. you could argue exy games arent that important for jean’s story but i do think they are insanely important for jeremy’s story. and if he’s a pov character i want more about him!! that man is keeping his issues locked up (I NEED TO KNOW WHAT THEY R) but we can tell he loves exy and he needs to win his last year

my memory of the extra content is so dim and some of it i have voluntarily chosen to forget or just not consider plus i think some of it will/has changed. but i think i remember reading that trojans win for their last year and i Need that to happen. cause in my head it went: foxes win neil’s first year and trojans win neil’s second year and jeremy’s last year. idc for the rest i want neil to have won championships twice or at least once as captain so that’s what happens in my head.

like i need more about jeremy teaching jean to love exy again and more about jeremy’s apparently complicated family issues with exy???? jeremy let me in.

anywayy. this book feels like a fever dream and im going insane
