A reading for the week of 4/15/24—4/21/24:
The Seven of Cups is a card of wishful thinking. Sometimes it represents daydreaming and inspiration, but often it represents the desire to reach our goals without actually putting in hard work. The temptation to indulge in a fantasy life in our heads where everything magically works out, rather than doing the hard work to bring about our desired outcome.
The Three of Wands is a very different card. It represents early success, but also the need to keep going, to keep putting in our energy and effort to reach a further goal. Sometimes it speaks to the need to check in with others and get their feedback. Regardless, it is a card that says, keep it up, there's more ahead for you if you keep working.
The Ten of Pentacles represents fulfillment of earthly needs, abundance, and generosity. It always means having enough, but it often means having a little too much, and needing to give back to our community and paying our good fortune forward.
Taken together, I see these cards as saying that the Ten of Pentacles is our goal, and a good, worthy one at that, but that we need to work hard to get there, rather than get caught in magical thinking and laziness.
For what it's worth, when I was shuffling the deck, the Hierophant jumped out onto the floor. The Hierophant often represents scholarship, devoting ourselves to the pursuit of knowledge, teachers, and mentors. It can also mean having to sacrifice some independence and following institutional rules to get what we want. Combined with the Three of Wands, I think it emphasizes the idea of checking in with others about our goals and looking for ways to learn more. Studying under the Hierophant isn't always easy, but it can lead to rich rewards.
Deck is Rider-Waite-Smith.

Any of my friends on here read tarot? I pulled these cards to go with my question below. I also posted my interpretation in the comments. Feel free to comment and tell me what you think!
Tumblr media
School starts in 2 weeks and my position has changed from a gen ed teacher to an inclusion, ese, and ell teacher. As time gets closer to the school year starting, my anxiety is getting heavier. It's pretty constant now and I keep worrying I won't be able to move these babies scores and I'm not going to be as an effective teacher as I was in the gen Ed classroom. Did I make the correct decision by taking this change on?

Beginner Spreads
Tumblr media
A ‘spread’ is the way you place and read your cards. Spreads can be very easy to use and you simply need the intention to begin.
There are many spreads in tarot and it can sometimes be overwhelming to choose one, so here are some beginner friendly spreads to start your tarot reading journey.
One-Card-a-Day spread
This spread works just as it sounds and is often used by all levels of tarot readers. You pull a single card and see how its meaning relates to your life. This can be done at any time of the day. If you pull a card in the morning, it’ll often represent the energy of your day. If you pull one at night, it might suggest advice or a message for the next day. Of course, this all varies depending on the questions you ask the cards.
It may also be helpful to keep a record of your cards so you can look back and see any patterns which might appear.
The Three-Card Spread
This spread is one of the most effective and useful spreads you’ll come across and can be used in a multitude of ways. You can change the meaning of each position in the spread to accommodate your situation (Past, present, future; mind, body, spirit; the situation, the action, and the outcome etc.).
This spread works just as it sounds. Three cards are pulled from the deck and each card represents a different aspect of the question you asked. For example, if you decided to use the past, present, and future spread, the card to the left will represent the past, the middle will represent the present, and the card on the right will represent the future.
As you read your cards, first take a look to see how they make you feel. Try and connect with their energy and pay attention to the pictures, colors and symbols on the card. Then, look up their meanings and see how they relate to your own life.
You may find that some messages resonate while others don’t. This is the best time to use your intuition and take the meanings that feel right to you.
Five Card Cross
This spread is similar to the three-card spread but allows for a more in-depth reading. In this spread, there is more room to pull clarifying cards which help you to more deeply understand their messages.
This spread is often constructed to look like a cross, building upon the three-card spread. Three cards lay in the middle while one lays at the top and one at the bottom. You can give certain meanings to each of the positions of the cards, much like the three-card spread, or you can just ask the cards a single question and see how the cards respond together to form an answer.

Had a helper for this spread. 🐈‍⬛
An interesting one. Last week I pulled Nine of Wands as a single-card pull, and before that I got The Magician in the same position on a Celtic Cross spread. It’s nice to have a hopeful forward-facing card, but I’m certainly feeling the Nine of Wands tired energy right now, and the heavily internal possible-stagnation of the Knight of Cups.

A spread for the week ahead:
This is a basic three-card reading. The positions of the cards don’t mean anything special. (It’s not a past-present-future spread, for instance.) I just like three-card readings because they give a nice amount of information, and the cards play off each other, without being overwhelming.
The Seven of Swords typically represents secrets, lies, trickery, and doing things you know you shouldn’t. It can also suggest that hidden information is about to come to light. Sometimes, it simply describes the act of withdrawing socially.
The Two of Pentacles/Coins represents auspicious beginnings, but also the sense of having lots of projects going on at once. It suggests a need for flexibility. You don’t need to pare down all that you’ve got going on, but you might need to get creative in how you balance it all.
The Eight of Wands is the Go! Go! Go! card. It represents taking swift action and being busy, but being able to handle it. It comes towards the end of the wands suit, which suggests you’ve done hard work getting to this point, and that now is the time to jump into action to move things forward.
Together, the Two of Coins and Eight of Wands make me think that this week might be a busy one. We have lots of different irons in the fire, and many of our projects will require decisive action this week, perhaps leading to fortuitous turning points. We might feel overwhelmed, but the Seven of Swords reminds us that the way to handle that feeling is through honesty and openness. There’s nothing wrong with playing our cards close to the chest, but we shouldn’t resort to outright lies, deceit, or other abuses of power to get things done. Rather than burying any negative feelings that come up, we should examine them in the light. Talk them out with trusted friends and family. Ask for help if we need it. The cards suggest that this is an auspicious week, and we’ll be happy for the hard work we put in at the end of it.

Spirituality | Three-card Tarot Spread
Hi there!
Have you ever wished for hints about the future? Or maybe just some helpful advice from the universe? Tarot is one of the best and easiest ways to get in contact with the universe and get a little help along the way.
If you’ve never tried tarot, or have been too overwhelmed to do so because of how much there is to learn, have no worries! There’s no need to stress over learning all the meanings of all the cards right away.
There are many beginner spreads out there to help you ease into reading tarot. One of these, is the three-card spread.
What is the Three-card Spread?
The three-card spread is about as simple as it sounds. Shuffle your tarot deck and pull out three cards. It’s an easy practice for beginners, or just a quick, daily reading, and can be used in any aspect of your life.
There are many layouts for this spread, and you get to choose which one works best for you.
You can change the meaning of each card position depending on what you wish to ask.
For example, a very common way to use the three-card spread is by asking for the past, present, and future, where the first card you pull represents the past, the second card represents the present, and the third card represent the future.
Three-card spread layouts
The past, the present, the future
The situation, the action, the outcome
Mind, body, spirit
Physical state, emotional state, spiritual state
Option #1, option #2, option #3
How to use the Three-card Tarot Spread
Decide which layout you’d like to use.
Shuffle your cards carefully and pull out three cards. (Don’t overthink this part too much, just take the ones that you feel drawn to.)
Read each card one by one, relating them to their specific position.
Write down which cards you got and their meanings.
Try doing the three-card spread a few more times during the week. If any of the cards keep coming up, it’s a good sign that you need to pay attention to that particular message.

The Universe means to start flexing my creative muscles more often and believe I am still here for a purpose. My reason for being will reveal itself soon. I just need to have a little more faith.
The Knight of Wands means to let go of that guy who is bad for me. Really let go. Never look back. Not even that is enough. I need to release the parts of myself that loved him and allowed him to abuse me.
The Chariot means to keep doing a multitude of things. Keep reaching towards my goals. Keep moving forward. Keep shedding the past. Keep on living, basically.

"Three Cards"
Channelling Christmas.
Fri, 23rd Dec
Tumblr media
1. Situation,
Ace of Pentacles *Reversed
Key words: Lost opportunity, lack of planning and foresight.
Insight: I've double booked an occasion, and I really will miss the opportunity I've had to decline. I've saved no money, and left everything until the last minuet.
2. Obstical,
The Moon *Reversed.
Key words: Releasing of anxiety, personal confusion.
Insight: I'm incredibly anxious about travelling spending time with family. I need to get over myself, and "Just do it!"
3. Advice,
5 of Wands.
Key words: Conflict, disagreements, competition, diversity.
Insight: I feel the advice is to be aware of the tension that may arise. I will remain diplomatic and respectful to all extents. If needs be I'll remove myself from the situation.
