Settle round, little ducklings, do I have some statistics to share with you all!!

A grand total of 156 people participated in this survey, so thank you if you took the time to fill it out! 🧡

As a teaser, here’s a pie chart of the votes for your favorite song! We’ll be discussing this in depth in its own section but I know some of you f*ck vibe with pie charts more than the bar charts I use there…

To give you a clear vision of what we’ll be looking at, here are the categories of the upcoming analysis:

PHANDOMETRICS

Lag between year started watching -> year joined the phandom. This can be seen most obviously in the 2009-2015 portion of the graph, likely when the community was just building up. I went back to check individual points, and many people seem to join a year or two after starting to watch.

Three distinct peaks of phandom growth: 2015 (dnp popularity peak), 2019 (coming out), and 2023 (dnpg comeback, dnp renaissance). Pretty expected, but still cool to see!

The difference between the peaks when you look at viewership vs. phandom is interesting though! Especially 2019 seems to be a huge spike in viewership, but the phandom growth seems a little more gradual (maybe more people lurked at first, then joined the phandom in 2023 once they were more active?).

The 2012 peak is really interesting. Most popular year to start watching from this sample, apparently!

FAVORITE SONG

"The Internet is Here" won 51.3% of the votes... which didn't surprise me all that much. It's iconic, okay?

II is about half as popular, and beyond the song qualities themselves, I wonder if a contributing factor to this pattern could be its lack of availability as an officially released song.

I think Everything's Fine is so low partially bc I closed the poll before WAD released to prevent the recency effect from skewing the data. (Especially because I thought we were getting "Everything's Fine (Acoustic)" smh.)

FAVORITE SONG VS. PHANDOMETRICS

By era...

I had a hypothesis: based on the year you joined, which I now realize in my head wrongly equated with the year you were most active in, you'd be more biased towards the song of that era bc a) you were more likely to go to the tour or b) epic nostalgia hit.

Yeah, I was wrong.

When you group the eras you see that TIIH wins in almost every single group by a similar proportion to the total, which means this attitude is fairly evenly distributed amongst the phannies.

By year...

Separating by year, you begin to see that, hold up, the hypothesis could have some merit! In either 2017 or 2018 on both graphs, the II finale actually does win.

The super high TIIH votes bleeding in from 2015/2016 and from 2019 seemed to mask this pattern.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

I have no idea what happened here but both ways you slice it, Interactive Introverts was fighting for its life amongst the 2012 phannies???

We got three phannies that have been watching since 2009!! The fact that people have been sticking around so long (up to fifteen years!!! and this was only a sample of 156 of us!!!) is really heartwarming for me bc it's a testament to how strong of a community dnp have built their viewership to be.

At the end of the day, what can I say? That was a lot of statistics. I hope you enjoyed or took something away from this little survey. Lmk if you notice any other cool trends or have any theories on what the data means!

Ketika akun IG saya disegel Meta, entah kenapa saya malah merasakan sesuatu; kelegaan. Lega, karena ternyata apa yang saya tulis dan sampaikan ternyata digelisahkan.

Lalu saya senyum sendiri, membatin, "akun IG tumbang, bisa buat lagi. Tapi nyawa di Gaza yang hilang, tidak."

Edgar Hamas ini bukan nama pena. Ia nama asli saya sejak lahir. Ia menjadi satu kebanggaan tersendiri buat saya sampai sekarang. Bagi Syaikh Ahmad Yasin sendiri, lahirnya H@mæs adalah sebuah penanda terbitnya generasi baru setelah 40 tahun zionazi bercokol di Palestina.

Beliau bilang, bahwa 40 tahun adalah fase yang dibutuhkan untuk mengganti generasi satu ke generasi selanjutnya. Syaikh Yasin tadabburi itu dari perjalanan Bani Israil dalam Al Qur'an, kala dihukum oleh Allah di Padang Tiih 40 tahun lamanya.

Setelah 40 tahun, apa yang terjadi?

Muncul generasi baru yang berbeda cara pandang dari yang lalu.

"dunia akan sangat berbeda antara sebelum gerakan Thufanul Aqsha (Badai Al Aqsha) dan setelahnya."

I'm almost deliriously tired and my brain is stuck in a constant loop between "everything's fine" and the ending of "the internet is here"

which is making me realise...they are a bit too similar. I mean, obviously there are some direct callbacks to tiih during everything's fine (dance break), so this is not entirely surprising.

I'll need to take a closer look at this later and actually compare them (because if I have any sort of flimsy expertise on anything it's about music). Maybe all of this is obvious and I don't know if anyone's said something about this yet but how do we feel about the possibility of everything's fine being a direct reflection of tiih? What function do both songs have in their respective show? beyond that, what does tiih stand for in the context of wad?

Yusya' bin Nun 'alaihissalam

“Sesungguhnya matahari tak pernah ditahan untuk seorang manusia pun, selain untuk Yusya’ di hari ketika ia hendak menaklukkan Baitul Maqdis.”  — HR. Ahmad

Bahkan setelah Allah selamatkan dalam pelarian dari kejaran Firaun dengan bentangan Laut Merah yang menjadi mukjizat besar Musa 'alaihissalam, Bani Israil masih terus terikat dengan hawa nafsu. Bani Israil kembali “menyakiti” Musa 'alaihissalam dengan mendustakan perintah Allah untuk berperang dan memasuki Baitul Maqdis; sebuah tanah yang dijanjikan kepada mereka.

Mereka berdalih bahwa kota itu dikelilingi oleh benteng yang sangat tebal dan kokoh, serta dijaga oleh sosok bangsa berperawakan besar yang merupakan penyembah berhala; Amaliq. Kemudian karena keengganan mereka untuk berjihad, Bani Israil terhukum dengan melewati hidup terkatung-katung di Padang Tih (gurun pasir Sinai) selama empat puluh tahun lamanya dan tidak Allah izinkan untuk memasuki Baitul Maqdis.

Melihat gelagat sebentar lagi berganti hari, Yusya 'alaihissalam pun berkata kepada matahari

“Hai matahari, engkau tengah menjalankan tugasmu dan aku pun sedang menjalankan tugas dari Allah. Maka, wahai Tuhanku, hentikanlah matahari!” — HR. Muslim

Dalam hadits yang sama Rasulullahﷺ menceritakan kepada kita kelanjutan kisah ini,

"dan matahari pun berhenti sejenak hingga Allah mengaruniakan kemenangan kepadanya." — HR. Muslim

Setelah fathu Baitul Maqdis pada saat itu, Bani Israil mengatakan bahwa Baitul Maqdis akan menjadi milik Bani Israil sepanjang hayat. Namun pernyataan ini dibantah langsung oleh pemimpin Bani Israil yang Allah izinkan dibawah kepemimpinannya Baitul Maqdis kembali terbuka bagi mereka; Yusya bin Nun 'alaihissalam.

“Baitul Maqdis hanya akan menjadi milik orang-orang mukmin. Apabila kalian kafir dan berbuat maksiat, Allah akan mencabutnya dari kalian.”

Semoga Allah izinkan bagi kita menziarahi dan beribadah di Baitul Maqdis dalam keadaan merdeka.

Ps. Yusya bin Nun 'alaihissalam adalah seorang nabi dari kalangan Bani Israil yang juga murid/pengikut Musa ‘alaihissalam yang kerap kita “jumpai" dalam surah Al Kahf.

I completely blame the Huffington Post TABINOF interview for this dream. (x)

I was in a New York comedy shop with Dan and Phil, trying to get hired. Side note, I was Dan’s clone??

So we’re talking to the manager of the store about our skills, and since Dan just went to use the restroom, Phil doesn’t want to reveal they’re YouTubers before he gets back. Literally, this guy is trying to say anything BUT the word YouTube, like “we’re an elite group of eight people that do situation-based comedy” (bc apparently there are only 8 YouTubers in existence). 

I get frustrated though, bc the poor manager is getting confused, so I flat out say “yeah, we’re YouTubers.” And atp Dan comes out of the bathroom and explains we also did a world-touring comedy show (TATINOF… I need to mention we were 2016-era dnp). I almost didn’t want to say I had that same experience until I realized I am Dan’a clone and I have his memories, so I have this experience too. 

THEN to convince the manager we’re legit, he and Phil broke into a dance to TIIH but it was a lottt more involved, like it had props (like Mario mushrooms and poke balls?) that Dan had kept hidden in his jacket. The manager was impressed and hired us then and there.

RENCANA STIMULASI

• Mengenal konsep dasar matematika secara konkret dengan menyenangkan melalui pengelompokkan warna

AKSI AKTIVITAS HARI INI

Disediakan media berupa kain flanel dan stik eskrim berwarna. Hafi saya minta untuk menyimpan stik warna diatas flanel  sesuai dengan warnanya.

- Hafi masih bingung di awal dan melihat saya saja

- Setelah saya menjelaskan dia malah mengambil stik lalu mengaduk-aduknya san menghamburkannya

- Saya ulangi (repetisi) instruksi dan mulai mengarahkan

- Ia mau mengikuti meski menyimpan stik warna yang salah (Hafi memang belum tau warna masih pengenalan, sebelumnya sudah belajar warna primer)

- Hafi mulai mengikuti suara saya saat bilang putih "tiih".. kuning "niiin".. dengan mengikuti gaya menyimpan stik di atas flanel.

REFLEKSI

Lesson plan berjalan 60%. Mama lupa berdoa sebelum memulai kegiatan, seharusnya semua diawali dengan niat yang baik agar lancar dan Hafi memahami tujuan. Sepertinya saya harus mementukan terlebih dahulu pencapaian minimum logika matematis anak usia 1-2 tahun
