Notable Aces

In this series I will be talking about some notable aces in the world. This is separate from the canon aces in media.

The first person I want to mention is one of my favorite celebrities: Tim Gunn!

Tim Gunn is a notable person in the fashion industry, having taught at Parsons School of Design in New York, and being the mentor on Project Runway for 16 seasons. He then co-hosted the reality television show, Making the Cut, with Heidi Klum. In addition, he has acted, directed, and produced numerous other shows and movies, won a primetime Emmy, and wrote a number of books.

In an interview with People’s magazine, Tim Gunn mentions that he's "...always been kind of asexual."

In the magazine, Gunn discusses having a rough childhood. His father was an FBI agent and did everything he could to get Gunn to play sports like a "normal boy," despite Gunn's disinterest.

Gunn didn't have many friends growing up, had depression, and went to multiple boarding schools. At the age of 17, Gunn attempted to overdose on pills, and is now extremely glad that his attempt failed.

A few years later he fell in love with a man, but then nearly a decade later, they broke up because the boyfriend had been cheating and that the boyfriend's sexual needs weren't being met.

Gunn has been happily single for decades and doesn't feel the need to be in another relationship. He loves his job and his friends.

As an asexual and lover of Project Runway, it was so interesting to learn more about the bubbly mentor I would watch for hours. He's someone I looked up to and it's great to see him living a wonderful life without feeling the need to have a partner.

This is something I've had in my drafts for a while and only decided to post it now.

Highly disappointed (but not surprised) that DC is not keeping Sasha Calle as Supergirl. We all knew the version we saw was an alt-reality. But I wanted to see her play the continuity character. She would have been amazing. But DC/Gunn are not giving her that opportunity. Sad b/c she was one of the only reasons I watched the movie. @sashacalle @wbpictures
