Warnings: Hurt feelings? And spelling.

You knew he had feelings for April. You had known from the very start. It was not hard for anyone to see. With the way he would tense up when she came around, the blush that would rush to his face whenever she teased or complimented him, or his nervous laughter when he was talking to her. Leo had a big crush on April, and everybody knew that, with the expedition of April herself. Everybody saw the way the mutant turtle would sigh after her, and his brothers loudly teased him whenever they got the chance. Yet, you still hoped for a chance. You still held a glimmer of hope that it wasn’t true, and that Leo in fact didn’t harbor such deep feelings for your friend.

Ever since you first met Leo and his brothers, the first day they attended Eastman High, you felt this tingling sensation deep within you, as your crush on the oldest mutant turtle started growing. You couldn’t help it. There was just something about him. His sweet manners, and his sometimes awkward and shy tendencies. He was adorable. But not even you could overlook the obvious feelings he had for April. You could stand between the two of them, and Leo’s eyes would still be on April. Yet she would never look back at him. Kind of the same way you would look at Leo, yet his eyes would be locked on her, without ever meeting yours. And therefore you kept the hope that one day Leo would give up his longing looks at April, and let his eyes fall on you.

Even as you went to prom without a date, you hoped deep within that this was the night that Leo would see you in a different light. With both of you coming to prom without a date, it gave you an excuse to spend time together. But all of those dreams were shattered the moment you stepped into the prom, seeing Leo and April dancing the robot dance together, laughing and smiling. That was the moment you realized that there was no hope. Leo was into April, not you. He had been so ever since you met him, and it would most likely stay like that. It stung you quite a bit, and as the night continued on, you felt worse by the moment, watching them have fun together. Therefore you left way earlier than you had anticipated, not telling either Leo, April or the others where you left.

After that evening, things were much different between you and Leo. Or more, for you whenever, you saw Leo. You started avoiding him, not wishing to see him and make the hurting in your heart even worse. You could only imagine how terrible it would be for you, if you one day saw him and April together. You could be standing with one of his brothers, talking about whatever, but as soon as you saw him, you would make up an excuse, and leave as soon as possible. This went on for several days, and before you knew it, it had been weeks since you and Leo last spoke.

As time went on, you found yourself thinking less and less about Leo. However, it took quite some time before you got to that point. For the first few days you had to fight the urge of talking to Leo. There was once a time where you would do pretty much everything in order to talk to him. Text him, call him, follow him around on school grounds. And for the first few days, you felt the urge to do that again, go back to your old habits. But you resisted, not wishing to hurt yourself further than you needed to.

You went on with your life, getting into the hobbies you felt like you had forgotten. You spend more time with school work, and hung out with friends when the opportunity came up. The thought of Leo took up a smaller and smaller space inside your head, and before you knew it, you found yourself looking for other love interests in your life, soon finding yourself talking with a guy from Eastman High’s football team. And for a time, you forgot all about Leo.

For Leo however, it was a different story. After he had invited April to prom, he thought that was it. It was locked and loaded. It was a date. He was interested in her, and she was interested in him. It was as simple as that, and for a time, Leo finally felt himself relax a little around April. Leo even allowed himself to do silly dances with April, not fearing what she would think of him. And she danced along! Leo could feel his heart sing with happiness and pride. He was actually going somewhere with April. This was almost too good to be true! And he was right…

“This is as friends, right?”, April had asked, leaving Leo frozen mid-motion. How the hell was he supposed to answer that? He had no other option than to agree with her. Yes, they were at prom together as friends. And with that conversation, Leo could no longer deny what he had hoped to be false - April just wasn’t interested in him. She saw him as a friend. And just that. A friend.

That revelation had left Leo stumped for some time. For a few days he was closed off, and not as talkative as he usually would have been, all while he worked through the emotions he was feeling. He was feeling hurt. Not that he was going to blame April for it, she had every right to not be interested, but it still hurt. And it didn’t help one bit that you suddenly seemed to be avoiding him, leaving whatever you were doing with an excuse, as soon as he came around. He was already sad enough of what had happened at prom, he did not need this to happen as well.

But as days turned into weeks, and Leo saw less and less of you, he found himself wondering. He was confused, his confusion growing greater than the hurt he had felt for April. As he saw less of you, he started finding himself looking for you. He would go to school everyday, thinking that today you would come up to him, like you normally did, asking him some random question, before following him to class. Just like you used to. It was sort of nice. Whenever a door at school opened, he would look up, hoping it was you that came through. With every sound of his phone, he hoped it was you texting him. But it wasn’t. You still haven’t texted him in weeks… You haven't spoken to him in weeks… The more Leo thought about that, the more he found himself confused. And once again, the hurt came up. A greater hurt than the one he had felt with April. With April, Leo at least knew it deep inside, even though he didn’t want to admit it. But whatever was happening to you, came totally out of the blue, and it left Leo feeling strange. This strange feeling inside of him, that he couldn’t explain. You had never made him feel so conflicted before. However, it was just a matter of time before Leo realized what those feelings meant.

Leo had stayed at the school longer than usual, helping April with her school news. No matter what Apri had said at prom, she was still his friend, and he still intended on helping her. However now he could finally relax while doing so, not being worried about what feelings she may, may not have for him. It was a relief - he did not have to worry about April's feelings anymore.

Leo continued to feel that relief as he packed his stuff, before he made his way down the empty hallways, towards the main exit. Here he was prepared to walk out to the fresh afternoon air, before making his way home. But the moment Leo stepped out the doors, he was met by a sight that stopped him dead in his tracks. There you stood on the steps, with your arms wrapped around the neck of one of the football jocks, a happy smile on your face as the two of you kissed.

If April had made Leo hurt, then you had directly harmed him, making his heart break and bleed. He lost his breath at the sight, feeling cold shock run through his body. So many feelings was running through him. It was as if time stood still, yet his mind was running to catch up with what was happening. Then finally, as the two of you broke apart, smiling at each other, Leo finally realized what was happening. You had given up on him. You had moved on with your life, seeing what else was out there. Leo felt ashamed and stupid. For so long he had only had eyes for April, that he hadn’t noticed the way you had been looking at him, or how hard you had been working for his attention. But now it was too late. You had moved on, and Leo finally realized blind he had been. Leo did not blame you for moving on. He only blamed himself, for not realizing it any sooner. His friendship with you was truly one of the best things that had happened in his life, and he had fucked up. So now he was left standing, and watching, as another was taking up the space he once held in your heart.

Leo could not help but kick himself mentally, over and over again when he came home that day. Fucking stupid crushes and stupid prom dates. He should just have asked you. Had he asked you, it would probably have been him you had kissed on the school steps. But sadly, it wasn’t. And now Leo was forced to look at you, the same way you had been looking at him for so long, hoping that you one day would look back at him the same way you did before.

Leo couldn’t help the smug, cocky smile on his face. I mean, why wouldn’t you want to observe someone as amazing as him? He’ll definitely be bragging to his brothers later, and believe me, he will not shut up about it for at least a day or two.

Even if he didn’t show it, or even admit it out loud, your interest made him feel tingly and warm inside. You made him feel so loved, and like he was important and special.

He knew you would be mad if you knew he was looking through your stuff, but you’re the one who left your backpack in his room, just begging to be gone through! And when he found a file with HIS name on it, how could he resist? Again believe me, you will never hear the end of this.

And of course, he wouldn’t want you to have any misinformation…

- Bless this guy's heart. With the way you nervously pulled him aside during a hangout at the lair, hands shaky and eyes escaping his own, Leo seriously thought you were going to break up with him.

- You could tell he was starting to panic and quickly de-escalated it, comforting your anxious, teary-eyed boyfriend by hugging him close.

- After calming down, he asked you what was really going on, and, well... you told him. Openly, with scattered giggles and stuttered words, as well as a few stray tears.

- Leo was quick to place his thumbs on your face and rub the tears away, listening closely as you told him everything.

- Proudly proclaims (when you're comfortable with it) about having you as his sweet, wonderful boyfriend.

- Constantly checks his internal alarm clock (as well as his phone) whenever he knows you're wearing a binder. Leo worries he's being too overprotective, but that thankful smile of yours whenever he does bring it up washes all the bad thoughts away.

- Reassures you whenever you're feeling down about yourself (best boy) and claims that he'd physically fight your dysphoria if he could.

- You're saved as "Prince💙" in his phone and his brothers never let him live it down.

- Totally relates to your insecurities of not being "manly enough" and so, you two hype each other up, in your own cringy, dorky lovestruck way.

- With the way you laugh it off, Leonardo can't help but join you, adoring your new-found confidence and the loving look you gave him as you met his eyes.

Raphael

- He was kind of confused at first, but listened intently as you explained how you felt, occasionally taking your hand in his and toying with your fingers.

- Raphael never gave much thought to his orientation, even after falling in love with you and getting together. He may need some help understanding a few things, but he's thrilled to call you his boyfriend.

- Like... Nothing changed. You're just a boy to him now.

- You were a little nervous about him not making a big deal out of it, but it quickly turned into relief once he crushed cuddled you for the rest of the night, occasionally making some VERY crude gay jokes to make you laugh.

- Will not let up with the "no homo" jokes after you tell him. The both of you could literally be kissing and-

"I love you so much, Raph"

"Love ya too. No homo though right?"

- Loves it when you laugh and/or scoff at these jokes

- Since you're a guy, Raph figures he can tell you all about gross guy things like he does with his brothers. He's just that comfortable with you.

- If you're trying to put on muscle, he's all smiles and already dragging you to the training area. You're not getting out of this. (affectionate)

- Raphael actually has a pretty good fashion sense and would be really flattered if you asked him for advice. He'll never admit that though, obviously.

- One time, you came home with a pair of matching red and black jerseys, in yours and his respective sizes.

- Raph.exe stopped working

- Like... Face redder than his mask type of gay panic.

- Offered to steal testosterone for you more than once.

- Noogies you/threatens to shove you into lockers affectionately. When you confront him about his nerd/jock thing, he just malfunctions and denies it.

- Would beat up anyone who gives you trouble for your identity in a heartbeat. No one messes with his man.

Donatello

- It was late at night at the lair, during one of your hours-long gaming sessions with your best friend, Donnie. He laid in his tent, shifting side to side excitedly, relieved that you couldn't see how much of a mess you made him whenever he heard your voice.

- And yet Donnie made the effort to hide his feelings, because you two were friends. Wait, no. He was your BEST friend.

- ... Who had been crushing on you for ages now. Painfully so.

- Much like his older brother, Donnie misinterprets your anxious tone and stuttering as something different, thinking you were about to tell him you've always loved him and wanted to be together forever-

- "Donnie, I'm trans."

- A choked sound comes out through the other end of the call as Donnie faceplants into his pillows, face flushed in embarassment.

- "T-that's okay. I, um... Totally cool."

"You sure? You sound weird."

"*voice cracks* ..yEP!"

- Really supportive, but in a chill sorta way.

- Donnie is easily the most casual about it. Barely questions it - before you know it he's already complimenting you, telling you how well you pass.

- If you're self conscious about your voice, Don makes sure you know that he loves it and also jokes about his own, saying that you don't need a deep voice to be a man.

- "I mean... Look at me! I'm pretty much a falsetto and you like me anyways!"

- Donnie says that last part lightly, but he listens intently for your reaction, and is relieved when you laugh; he successfully cheered up his crush. Score.

- Compares you to various anime guys he thinks resemble you - given that you may not know much about the characters or Donnie's knowledge of them. His brothers, however, noticed a pattern - they're always the anime boy archetypes he seems to favor the most.

- And so they tease him, relentlessly, mercilessly, about his crush on you.

- "Donnie's got a tyyyypeeee!"

"Quit it, Mikey!"

"C'mon guys, maybe he wants to go see his boyfriend!"

"H-he's not! Shut up, Raph! You know what? I'm gonna go."

"What, you miss your senpai already?"

"WHAT THE HECK LEO!?"

Michelangelo

- You sort of came out to Mikey shortly after becoming his friend. Being a member of drama club, you were lucky enough to find yourself in a supportive environment and you were finally free to be yourself, much like the turtles.

- Mikey always tiptoed around the idea of what romance could be like and, well... you were just his type.

- You didn't mock him, or treat him like the weakest one of the group or anything. You took him seriously.

- And so Mikey was seriously obsessed with you.

- So much so that when your group was tasked with dressed rehearsals for the play you'd been practicing together, he can barely look in your general direction as you slip off the stage garments to reveal black underarmor.

- It was chill. You were just friends. Totally chill. Be cool. Mikey could do that, right?

- "W-wait, where are you going?"

- He was struggling with removing his shirt, the thin cotton getting caught on his shell. Mikey stood there, watching you step out of the changing rooms and into one of the bathroom stalls, face flushed and arms raised awkwardly as he fiddled with the shirt.

- "I just gotta get this binder off. S'been knocking the wind outta me!"

"O-Oh..."

- Unexpectedly, Mikey's kinda paranoid about you binding. It leads to some awkward questions, but he's genuinely worried and means well.

- Mikey gets very passive aggressive whenever someone misgenders you on purpose; you may have to hold him back a bit.

- Does his best to cheer you up when you feel down about yourself. This man will NOT rest until that handsome smile is back on your face.

- Tries to low-key sneak it into conversations that he likes guys. And that you're a guy. And that he REALLY likes guys. And-

- He's just a gay mess, forgive him.

A/N: i only saw mutant mayhem in cinemas once like a month ago so this might be ooc. 18+ people DNI. i do not in any way support yandere behaviour, please know that this writing is purely fictional, and should not ever be reenacted in real life

Leo exhaled heavily, staring at his reflection in the mirror. He whispered to himself 'you got this,' over and over like a mantra. He was so nervous, nothing could calm him down. You were in the sewers with him, he couldn't even imagine being calm. He gave up on calming his nerves, deciding to greet you as he was, jittery and giddy. He entered the secluded part of the sewers he cleared out just for you, not being able to contain his smile as he met your eyes - your mouth being covered with the gag he gave you. You didn't look as excited as he was... You were probably just confused, that was all. Once Leo explained everything, you'd be smiling in no time. He neared closer to you, frowning at the way you shuffled back toward the wall, but he rationalised that you were just too excited to meet him, and was just as giddy as he was.

"HEy." Leo internally cringed at the crack in his voice, but kept a calm face in front of you, "Sorry for keeping you tied up so long, I had to finish up some stuff with my brothers." he paused, before realisation dawned on him, "Oh and sorry for keeping that gag on you for so long," he walked your way, stopping in front of you to untie the gag, "I knew you'd be confused and I didn't want you to hurt your throat by-"

"What the fuck are you doing?!" Leo jumped back when you yelled, not prepared for your hostility.

"Hey," he looked behind him, double checking no one else was near, "Y/N, you need to keep it down, or I'm gonna have to put the gag back on, and I really don't wanna do that." he said, almost pleading with you.

"You have thirty seconds to explain to me what you think you're doing." you spat, glaring at Leo to hide the fear in your eyes. You did stay quiet, so Leo did appreciate that.

He nodded, exhaling quickly, "Ok, so we go to the same school, I dunno if you've ever noticed me, you probably haven't-"

"Yeah, I never noticed four turtle mutants at my school."

Leo instantly perked up, "So you have noticed me?" you said nothing, staring at him with a frustrated look, "Right, never mind. I- You just looked so lonely at school, I figured you needed a friend."

You scoffed, and Leo didn't miss the feeling of pure fear in your voice that you tried to cover up, "So your first thought is to kidnap me?"

Leo cringed, "Can you maybe not use that word?"

Your eyebrows raised, “Kidnap?” he nodded, "No, because it's the exact word to describe what you're doing."

”Well you’re making me out to be some kind of monster. I just…” he sighed, “I really like you and I thought I could be your friend, or something…”

”Well you could’ve been if not for the kidnapping.”

He brought his hands to his face, laughing awkwardly, “Can you stop? I’m trying to help you, it’s not my fault you’re not taking this well.” he saw your unconvinced expression and stood up, beginning to pace around the room “I’m a hero, you know I’m a hero. My brothers and I saved the city. I'm trying to do a good thing for you, and I really want you to be happy down here, with me. So can you just stop being so negative?"

You just stared at him speechless. You realised pretty quickly that you wouldn't be able to convince him that what he was doing was wrong. It seemed his mind was made up. But you also noticed that he seemed pretty determined to keep you happy, and was convinced that you weren't happy without him.

"Leo listen to me," you began, seeing the corners of his lips turn up slightly at the fact that you knew his name, "I know you think you're helping me or whatever, but you're really not. I'm fine, I really am. You-you can let me go, and I won't tell anyone about this, I swear." you couldn't stop the tears forming in your eyes. You didn't want him to know, but you were truly terrified.

He narrowed his eyes at you, "What do you mean? I-I'm helping. I don't understand why you wouldn't think that..." you opened your mouth to speak but he quickly cut you off, "I-is this because I'm a mutant?"

You furrowed your eyebrows, "What?"

"You just think I'm some kind of monster, don't you?" he asked, a hurt look in his eyes as he stared at you.

"Leo, you're not listening to me-" you attempted to say, but Leo cut you off again.

"Well I'm sorry I'm not a human, but last I checked, no human cares enough about you to give you this kind of help." he scoffed, turning around and beginning to walk away.

"Leo, what are you doing?" you asked fearfully, pulling on the ropes around your hands.

He turned back to meet your eyes, "If you hate me so much, I'll just leave you alone then."

You suppress a groan of frustration, "Can you just-"

Leo turned around sharply, a sharp glare sent your way, but you could still see the hope in his eyes, "Just what? If you're gonna yell at me again, I don't wanna hear it."

"I don't want to be here. You're really scaring me, and I want to go home. This isn't what heroes do, Leo." you insisted, staring deep into Leo's eyes, hoping you would reach him.

In the blink of an eye, you saw his face fall, his once tense and frustrated expression replaced with drooped eyelids, frowning lips and slumped shoulders. He stared at you for what felt like an eternity, before his lips turned upwards slightly, a calm expression forced upon his face, "It's ok, Y/N. You’re confused, you’re not used to this yet. You don't understand now, but you will soon. I promise."

Notes: Dude Mutant Mayhem was so fucking good, so in order to honour the release of it here is some dumb thoughts I've been thinking of ever since I saw it. A second part may potentially be out soon but looking from a more angst perspective

⛥ Leo is 100% a fanfic reader and most likely writes stories about him and April. I think that it's all started because he found Donnie reading some about his favourite anime characters and got curious and asked him about it, to which Donnie went on for ages about fanfiction in general, to different tropes, clichés etc!

⛥Donnie and Mikey definitely seem like the type of kids who ended up on the wrong side of the internet as very young kids and found the most goriest shit ever

⛥When Raph was a little kid he found a plushie when him and his brothers were exploring the sewer. He deemed it cute but because his brothers were all teasing him over it he left it and then went out on his own to find it and brought it back to the lair. He tried to hide it and then cuddle it when he was feeling sad but one day Splinter found it and brought it up to him in front of the others, making him embarrassed. However, to this day it is still hidden somewhere underneath the covers.

⛥The guys secretly watched some super gory horrors one time after splinter said not to and they all freaked themselves out over it but they tried to hide it from splinter. When Splinter eventually did find out, he did things to specifically scare each turtle in order to teach them a lesson (which he heavily enjoyed doing). They'd always discuss the scenarios the final girl was put through and what they would do in that situation at night and then the whole thing about "freaky" stuff happening to them would be brought up...it took them a very long time to realise that it was just Splinter fucking with them.

⛥They all watched vines and quote them from day to day

⛥Leo loves to collect plant and flowers but when he brings them down to the lair they die within a week and he has definitely cried over at least half of them.

⛥Mikey is definitely the type of person to eat the world's nastiest food combos and enjoy it

⛥Mikey and Raph have constant bets over who can do the dumbest shit

⛥Leo always felt quite isolated from the group at times and it always made him feel self conscious and more different from the others.

⛥I think that Mikey constantly worries about his brothers and Splinter - especially Leo.

⛥Mikey, Donnie and Raph are the type of kid to lick the backs of magic stars and then stick two together in order to eat them

⛥ Leo is terrible with directions

⛥ Donnie and Mikey believe in the 'if you don't repost this video in (however long) you will die/get bad luck

⛥ They are all heavily invested in the yellow car game and Leo is always the one to get punched the most (Mikey and Raph are very competitive)

TMNT : Mutant Mayhem X Gender Neutral Reader dating headcanons

Note(s): 2003 has me in a chokehold so I might accidentally mix their personalities, also you can probably tell who my favourite turtle is 💀

I've only seen this movie once, and I can't afford to go to the cinema again so I'm sorry that I didn't write a lot!

Leonardo

Leo basically has a full time job of trying to impress you, one time he even tried to drive a car and do tricks for you. It, unsurprisingly, went so bad that Splinter grounded him for a week.

While Splinter has always dug in that humans were dangerous and hateful, which is semi true, meeting April and you have diluted Leonardo's faith in that. He realises that you're just... People. People who make mistakes, who need to change, and who largely, have changed.

He likes learning about things you take for granted everyday, what was school like? Have you ever been to a restaurant? Do you like going outside a lot? Do you have a pet? Etc, etc.

Leo needs to try really hard in school because he's not naturally talented in science or math like Donatello, so he appreciates any help you can give him! He surprisingly likes homework, he views it like training, sort of like something to improve his skills.

He 100% searches a 'how to flirt' wikihow and gets absolutely slammed by his brothers for trying some of the worst pickup lines in history on you.

Leonardo wants to train you with self defense skills if you don't know any already, he puts on the training videos that Splinter used to learn himself and teach Leo and his brothers, so that you two can at least spend time by training together.

Raphael

Despite loving violence and fighting, he's always happy and his rage is never directed at you, he even tries to get you to let out your anger by training sometimes.

If you don't know how to fight, or don't want to learn, then he's perfectly fine with just giving you one of his sais and letting you stab a punching bag with it, or something.

Raph occasionally gets into more friendly fights and sparring matches with his brothers or classmates, he's always bragging to you about how cool he was and how awesome it was to fight.

He likes it when you initiate hugs or hand holding, it's not that he's embarrassed or doesn't want to initiate affection, or even have it at all, but Raph isn't the best at guessing what you want without outright asking. Which he does do a lot, but he feels awkward constantly asking for a hug, and he lets you know that he's always up for one.

Raphael doesn't want you in danger, but he does 100% egg you on to participate in fights and pull some chaos, even if minuscule.

Donatello

He's a complete dork and LOVES to try and impress you with knowledge on your favourite musical artists, TV shows and movies, etc, etc. Donnie gets super into anything you're into, and he even tries to subtly get you interested in things like K-pop or science, if you're not interested in them already.

Always rants about his interests, he could go on for HOURS about the hidden messages in a music video, especially when he can get out more often and speak to more people about what he likes.

He's so curious about humans and their biological functions, don't be weird not like that, he always used to watch documentaries to Splinter and his brothers confusion.

Donnie frequently imagines what life would be like without a shell, with his skin a different texture, with his ears all weird and sticking out, he constantly asks you questions about living as a human.

He adores it if you know a lot about biology, especially if you know about turtle biology, even if he and his brothers are different than regular turtles for obvious reasons.

Donnie loves holding your hand, whenever he's nervous, or if you're nervous, he likes squeezing your hand and just holding it for a while. Even if it's kind of awkward because of his three fingers.

Michelangelo

Mikey loves showing off his ninja skills to you. Oh, you're just watching a movie? Watch him do the stunt from that one scene about fifty times.

He doesn't have much of a 'taste' in movies or music, he just sort of watches whatever captures his interest. His most watched media consists of an intense crime documentary and Pingu.

Mikey loves hugging you, no matter what you're doing he just (⁠･⁠ω⁠･⁠)⁠つ⁠⊂⁠(⁠･⁠ω⁠･⁠) His favourite way of hugging you is from behind, because then you can do whatever you want and he isn't bothering you, but he also gets to give you a hug.

As the youngest sibling, Michelangelo loves getting you involved in pranks that involve screwing over his brothers. He will beg you, BEG YOU, to let him stand on your shoulders to place a bucket of water on top of a door, to help him dye his brothers masks the wrong colours, basically anything!

He loves making friends and would like to meet your friends and family, that is if you have any or have a good relationship with them, and if you do, he's trying to impress them so he can in turn impress you.

He also expects you to get along with his family, you don't need to constantly hang out with them, but he likes to have the knowledge that his family accepts and trusts you, he also likes to have the knowledge that you trust his family.

While not being the most perfect and strong guy, he has full respect for you and he shows it in semi unconventional ways. Mikey constantly likes to play video games with you, and while he's never been able to play the newest or most expensive, he may or may not steal a game or two just for you.

If you have a console, PC or even just a god damn phone that can handle a decent game, expect you two to play for HOURS.

What shows both his family and you that he does truly love you is when he gives you a slice of his pizza, if you're vegan or allergic to his favourite flavour, he'll order what you can eat instead of what he wants.

His brothers genuinely have a full hour of just staring in shock at you and him when that happens.

Raphael stood with his head in his locker, acting like he was looking through his stuff for something specific. Well, he was in fact looking for something, but it was nothing in his locker. No it was down the hall, standing at their own locker, picking out the books for their next class.

This was not what Raph had imagined high school to be like. He had thought it would be like those movies he and his brothers used to see back in the lair. The stereotypical jock that had it easy, never scared about what people thought of him, every guy wanted to be like him, he picked on the nerd and had a pretty girlfriend. That was how Raph had thought his high school life would be like. But that was far from the reality he was served with.

Raph had made it onto the wrestling team, so that made him a jock, right? But nothing about school was easy. Raph struggled with reading and math, and he often found himself feeling a little subconscious whenever someone looked at him for too long. His turtle exterior might have been accepted by the people of New York City, but every long stair made him feel a little unsure. Raph was very dependent on Donnie and his nerd friends helping him out with homework, and at times he feared that people would rather get to know his brothers instead of him. And he did not have a girlfriend. But he did have a crush on probably the prettiest girl in the whole school. Great, right? No!

Raph had never even talked a single word to you, but stared at you from his locker, more than happy to be late for class if he could watch you for a little longer. There had been times where Raph had tried to talk himself up, wanting to start up a conversation with you, but instead he found that his hands were getting sweaty at the mere thought of talking to you. His heart rising and his body shaking whenever you were close by in the cantine, or those few times he had found himself at the same water fountain as you. He almost forgot to breathe whenever you looked in his direction, averting his gaze, never knowing if you ever actually looked at him. And the brutal truth was that Raph wasn’t even sure if you knew his name, but he surely knew yours, often finding it repeating itself in his head.

Despite that, Raphael did exactly as he had done every single day, after he saw you for the first time. He stayed at his locker, watching you as you looked through your stuff, getting ready for your next class.

Raph was relieved that his brother’s weren’t around. They had obviously seen the way their brother has started to act whenever you were in his line of sight. Mikey and Donnie had a blast, realizing that it wasn’t Leo that had gotten a crush on a human, but Raph as well, giving the two youngest something good to tease both of their oldest brothers with.

Raph felt his shoulders slump, remembering Leo’s crush on April. He felt like slamming his head against the side of his locker. Here he was, fearing something as small as your eyes turning his way, and his duns of a big brother was talking to his own crush everyday, even if he was rambling and fumbling over his words. This could not be. There was no way that Leo was better at this than Raph was. It could not be. And with those thoughts in mind, Raph once again tried to talk himself up.

“You can do this, dude”, he whispered to himself, daring another look in your direction. “You fought Superfly. You saved New York City. If you can’t talk to a girl, who can? Even Leo can do it, and he is a duns”.

Raph shut his locker with a sigh, before doing something he had never thought he would do. He walked in your direction, determined finally to have a conversation with you. You however, didn’t seem to notice Raph until he was a few feet from you. You shut him a small friendly smile, causing his heart to flutter and his body to shake with nervousness.

“H- hey”, Raph stammered, cringing at the way his voice cracked. He expected you to huff annoyed at him before leaving, but instead your small friendly smile deepened to a genuine smile.

“Well, hi to you too”, you smiled, a giggle escaping your lips when you saw his flustered expression. “Can I help you with anything?”

“Uhm… uh… yeah! I- I know you, (Y/N), but you don’t know me - sorry, no - I- I’ve seen you around, a- and I- I thought you were r- really”. Raph stalled at the way your eyes watched him with genuine curiosity and kindness, patiently waiting got him to finish. “W- will you go out with me?”

Raph had feared you would laugh, but not like you did now. It was light hearted and calm, and not in the least bit taunting. No, it was friendly and happy, somehow calming Raph’s frayed nerves down.

“I would love to do that, Raphael”, you smiled, trying to hide a small blush on your face.

Raph stared at you, his mouth agasp and eyes wide. “Y- you know m- my name?”

“Of course I do”, you smiled with a small giggle, avoiding eye contact for a few seconds. It was when Raph realized that you were nervous too. “Everybody does. You and your brothers saved the city, and well”. Biting your lip, you reached out and tucked on the sleeve on his flannel, making his heart skip a beat. “You’re hard not to notice. I’m not just talking about the whole turtle thing”.

“Oh?”, Raph asked, somewhat shocked. “You really think so?”

“Yeah”, you nodded, smiling brightly at him.

“Okay”, Raph said with a fond smile, feeling his nervousness fade away, giving way to a sudden urge of confidence, leaning against the locker. “Then what do you say to a pizza date this Friday?”

Drabble #1 : Home

You live in a small cottage in the woods with Leonardo, and his family lives close by. You have two toddlers with him, both boys. You also just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl some weeks ago. It’s night time and you and Leo kiss your boys’ little faces goodnight as both of you tuck them into their little beds. You and your husband go to bed with your newborn snuggled between you. The lights are dimmed, the blankets have been drawn, the pillows are fluffed, and your baby girl suckles your breast hungrily in your arms as Leo stares at you with a loving gaze.

You chuckle at his expression, and say “What?”

He takes your hand into his and kisses it softly. He lays you on his plastron.

“Thank you.”

“Whatever for?” You ask again. His eyes met yours.

“When I was younger, I never let myself imagine that I could have a life like this,” he sighed as he stroked your daughter’s cheek. “I never thought that someone would love me enough to marry me and carry my children. I never let myself dream of becoming a husband or father… and yet here I am… with the most beautiful person in the world… making a home with her.”

“Oh Leo,” you whispered before pulling him into a sweet kiss. That is until your daughter whined and you broke apart giggling. Your baby then regarded her father curiously and extended her tiny hand in his direction as if she was asking for him.

You gently placed her into his arms. She smiled up at him, a toothless and happy grin. A tear traced down Leo’s cheek as small fingers wrapped around his own.

notes: so i super love theater and i came up with this idea while I was at one. My main account has other asks so I thought it would be fun to post here instead. Don't expect future fics to be this long, they normally aren't lol. Also I may or may not write a fic about Mikey and his person in this fic 🤷 who knows 🙈 This was written by Hearts (you can tell my the notes being green and the divider being green!)

Popcorn and one water

Leo saw her almost as soon as he entered the theater. She was at the counter, across the busy lobby, wearing a name tag. Leo suddenly wished he had supervision so he could out her name from all the way over here.

“I'm gonna go get a snack.” Leo informed Donnie who likely gave a snarky reply but Leo was far too invested in getting closer to her. He was surprised that he hadn't seen her around before, since she looked like she was in his grade.

She had a sour expression on her face, looking dull and monotonous. Not fully a frown but definitely not a smile, her eyes darting away before they could meet anyone else's. It made Leo nervous that she was uncomfortable.

Either way, he was determined to swallow his anxiety and get a snack (or rather use getting a snack as a guise to learn her name.)

Leo patiently waited in line, tapping his fingers against the fabric of his jeans. His heart beat erratically in his chest, sweat collecting in his hands. He tried to wipe it away just as it was his turn to get concessions.

“Hi, what can I get you?” She said, her voice surprisingly friendly for such an….unpleasant expression.

“Can I get a……” Leo faltered, realizing he hadn't thought of what to get yet. He glanced at the menu trying to figure out what to get before he frustrates you or the people in line.

Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.

“Can I get popcorn and a bottle of water?” Leo finally said, hoping you wouldn't think his choice was dumb. Was it dumb? Should he have gotten a candy bar? Or maybe he should have gotten a soda instead?

“Alright, coming right up.” She said cheerfully, turning around to grab a water bottle from the fridge. She leaned over the counter, standing on her tip-toes (Leo couldn't help but find that adorable) to hand the water to him. Leo shivered when your fingers brushed against his, his green skin gaining a pinkish tint.

Leo finally glanced at her nametag, the sound of her name repeating over and over again in his head. It sounded so nice, so pretty, so lovely. He wanted to keep it locked up in his brain, place it on a shelf and make sure your name never gets forgotten and left to the dust.

Finally he got his popcorn, yet again his heart fluttered when your hand touched his. Was it normal to have heart palpitations over minor touch?

“Enjoy the show!” She said, giving Leo a small smile. He felt like the luckiest turtle in the world.

“You too, [Name]!” Leo said, taking a moment to process. Then he proceeded to die of cringes. She wasn't even watching the show since she was working!

Leo quickly walked away before he could see your reaction to his absolute idiocy.

How was he already so far gone?

2. Two hershey bars and one bag of gummies

“Leeeeoooooooo, can you please get me a snack?” Mikey whined, not even five seconds after Leo had returned with his own snacks. Not that he was complaining, since his brain was still on the counter where you handed him his popcorn and water.

Leo's hands still tingled, like all the atoms inside his body were doing a little dance right where your skin has brushed up against his. God, he felt ridiculous. (Donnie would most certainly label him a simp if he could hear Leo's thoughts.)

“Alright fine, I'll get your snack.” Leo conceded, acting as if he wasn't ecstatic to see you again. Even with his last moment with you making Leo crumple up with cringe, he still likes you.

[Name.]

He wondered if you could tell how much you already make his heart pound and make his head feel like it's underwater. Like he's drowning quick and fast but Leo found he doesn't mind if this is his death. He liked the way you made him feel.

Leo put his own stuff down in his chair, using his ninja skills to avoid getting trapped in the crowd. Normally this sort of event wasn't for Leo, it's crowded and busy and Leo doesn't know this musical. But Mikey begged for them all to go so they could support his friend.

He had never been happier to do something Mikey wants.

Leo weaved his way through the hoard of people, making sure to avoid getting stuck in the monstrously long bathroom line. Finally, he made it out into the lobby eyes darting around until they spotted you.

She seemed to notice Leo too, as time slowed down. Her lips quirked into a smile, eyes crinkling like just made an inside joke with him.

The blue clad turtle got into line, trying not to seem impatient even though he really really wanted to shove everyone out of line. That would be rude of him.

He couldn't help wanting to see her! But he could control his…aggressive urges. (Maybe Raph was rubbing off on Leo a little bit.)

After what felt like an eternity but was only a few seconds, it was finally Leo's turn. He approached the counter trying to suppress the dorky grin on his face.

"Hello again." She said, her eyes watching his face carefully. His skin itched like her sight was physically touching him.

"Hi, again. My brother wanted some snacks so I'm back." Leo explained, although almost immediately regretting it. Was it too much information? Was he rambling? Did she think he is a weirdo?

"If my sister was here she would make me get her snacks too." She replied, gifting Leo the chance to hear her delightful laugh. It was soft and quiet, repeating itself in his brain like a record that never stops turning.

He wanted to keep talking to you, maybe bond over having siblings, but there were people behind hin who were growing impatient. Leo only hopes to see you after the show.

"Can I have two hershey bars and some gummies?" Leo asked, feeling light and airy. Although disappointed he has to go as soon as you give him the food. She handed it to him, her gentle fingers wrapped around the packages as they brushed against his calloused skin.

"Enjoy the snacks." She said, with a small smile. Leo returned the smile, not saying anything yet in fear of saying something cringe again. He can't control the things he says around you.

As he turned around he could have sworn he heard you mutter, "See you soon, cutie."

Leo really hoped his brothers wanted more snacks soon.

3. One pack of cookies and a Sprite

The musical was a lot better than Leo had anticipated. The story was interesting and the songs weren't obnoxious. Plus Leo could see how much Mikey was enjoying seeing his friend up stage.

"Ughh, I need some soda. Dude go get me some and a snack too." Raph said, shoving some money in Leo's hands just as the lights started coming back on. It was intermission, or rather the little break in between acts so the actors can have a break. At least that's how Mikey explained it to Leo.

Leo was grateful for the intermission since it meant he had another chance to see [Name]. It seemed things were going very well with her! Even if he's only know her for about an hour. And most of that hour has been watching high schoolers kill other high schoolers. Very fascinating stuff.

"You're lucky I'm a good big brother." Leo replied in a snippy tone as though to mask his excitement Which doesn't seem to work because Donnie glances away from Mikey and gives Leo a suspicious look.

"Uh huh and you aren't excited to see Miss.....[Last Name]?" Donnie added, glancing at his phone. Leo blushed, more embarrassed by the teasing than the fact Donnie probably just got all of [Name]'s personal information.

"W-whatever!" Leo squeaked, face burning even more as his brothers laughed at him. How would Donnie even know Leo already had a major minor crush on [Name]? How obvious was he about it?

Leo doesn't have much time to think about it because he quickly had to weave himself through the lines forming to the bathrooms and concession stands. Yet again he was feeling grateful for Splinter teaching him the skills he needed to not get trapped between the parents of the actors and the other kids forced to come. A...unique crowd.

How many times was he going to be stuck in this line, waiting to see the face that had been plaguing his thoughts for the first half of the show? It was frustrating certainly but he had to remain patient and hope [Name] won't be sick of seeing him.

"Hi, what can I...oh it's you again!" She said, her smile brightening instead of falling thankfully. Leo laughed, although it sounded slightly awkward.

"Yeah, my brothers always seem to want me to get them something." Leo rolled his eyes, pretending as though he wasn't insanely excited to come back to the concession stand and see her.

She snorted and muttered a, "Real." as she gave Leo a wry smile. "And what do your brothers want this time?"

"A pack of cookies and a Sprite, please."

[Name] grabbed the stuff, her skirt flowing around her. She was dressed so elegantly, making Leo feel slightly under dressed. But she was utterly stunning, so much so it made Leo's tongue feel like an iron weight on top.

"Here you go, Blue." She said with a grin, making Leo startle slightly. Oh, oh. He hasn't even told her his name yet! How stupid can he be?

"My name's Leo." He explained, a slight influx in his pitch making him blush yet again. (Why must every bone in his body be cursed with awkwardness?!)

"Well, it's nice to meet you. I hope to see you soon, Leo." She said, waving Leo off. He smiled a little dopey as he walked away, almost under a trance.

He was unable to be saved from the thing called love.

4. Two granola bars

"Donnie, you are such a weirdo! Granola bars?" Mikey complained, leaning back in his chair as he watched Donnie hand Leo his money.

"Yes! I'm not wanting sugary treats right now. Granola bars are a perfectly acceptable snack." Donnie huffed, handing his blue masked brother a five dollar bill.

"Yeah, yeah. Just hand me the money so I can buy it before intermission hands." Leo complained, exaggerating his annoyance so he doesn't seem terribly down bad for [Name]. He's known her for barely any time at all and he's already dying to see her again, taking any chance really.

"Shut up, Nardo. You aren't fooling anyone. Now hurry up and get my food." Donnie replied, pulling out his phone to watch the newest episode of whatever anime he is currently obsessed with. Leo scoffed but walked away, heart flurrying with excitment.

Would [Name] think he is pathetic for his thoughts? Or would she call him a romantic? Oh god, if only he knew whether she liked him even a fraction of the same way.

"Bye-bye birdie~" Mikey sang, giggling after. Leo rolled his eyes, finding the musical reference not very funny at all. His brothers were such dorks.

Leo walked into line yet again, although grateful to see it isn't as long as before. She seemed to be working fast, waltzing from behind the counter to give everyone the things they bought.

"Here you go, sir! I hope you're enjoying the show!" She said to the man in front of Leo, finally making it his turn. How Leo so nervous? Gah, he's scared the money will be damp from how much he is nervous sweating!

"Wow, I feel like I haven't seen you in centuries." She said with a dry smile, Leo awkwardly laughing. Damn, she's so cool! And he's so....not!

"Hehe yeah. My other brother decided to get two granola bars." Leo explained, her eyes lighting up with amusement. His stomach clenched at that look. She was so effortlessly beautiful.

"Ooh, interesting choice." She hummed grabbing said items. Leo nodded, still feeling his nerves like a tightly pressed spring waiting to be unleashed.

They exchanged the money and granola bars, luckily with her seeming to notice the copious amounts of sweat on Leo's palms. Why must he be so embarrassing?

"Better get going." She said, jutting her chin towards the door, "Show is about to start."

Leo sighed, his heart fracturing dramatically at what seemed like rejection. Maybe she hasn't been flirting with him and Leo is too delusional to read the signs. Of course she doesn't like him! He's a cringy, dorky mutant who can barely speak without saying something so awkward.

"Yeah, that's true." Leo replied, wishing he could suck the disheartened tone out of his words. His very existence is embarrassing! She frowned a little, like she was surprised to see Leo disappointed.

Either way, Leo turned away and headed back to the audience with a heavy heart. He shouldn't be surprised she doesn't like him the way he liked her.

Who would like a freak like him?

5. ?????

Leo was....impressed by how much he enjoyed the show. He had never been one for musicals or any of that stuff but he can appreciate it. Especially since Mikey was head over heels for the lead in the show. (Although Mikey keeps saying they are "just friends")

He grabbed his trash and threw it out, waiting for his brothers to finish talking to the cast in the lobby so they can head home. He was exhausted.

Leo couldn't help but feel heartbroken over [Name] even if they did nothing more than be friendly while working. He sighed and leaned against the wall, watching Donnie bond with another audience member who liked anime. All of his brothers had a chance with someone except for him! Maybe it was less to do with him being a mutant and more of the fact he was so awkward and annoying and stupid and emb-

"Hey, Leo."

He stiffened at the sound of her voice, his heart yet again being sent into overdrive. He tried to stay calm as he turned around to see [Name]'s curious but tired expression. She was pretty enough to frustrate him.

She gave him a smile that put Leo slightly to ease, even if he was wary. And for little reason since she did nothing but her job! Leo was a pathetic lovesick fool.

"You forgot your last snack." She said, a slight glint in her eyes. Leo's curiosity was intrigued. She held out her arms and showed Leo what she was holding....a box of dates.

"Umm, what?" Leo asked confused, trying to figure out whatever the hell she meant by that. Dates? What teenager in their right mind eats those? And does their school even sell them?

She flustered (how cute Leo thought it was) and looked away, still holding the box of dates in her hands. Leo wasn't sure what was going on.

"It was a stupid pun. Like a date for a date? And multiple because I want to go on multiple dates with you?" She explained, an embarrassed laugh coming from her, "Sorry, I must have misunderstood some signals. I thought you were cute and I wanted to ask you out but I chickened out earlier."

Leo could have sworn his face was going to explode from how much blood rushed to it quickly. She thought he was cute? And she was dorky enough to ask him out using a pun? Leo must have died and gone to heaven because someone this perfect can't exist and like him.

"You don't need to say anything. Sorry fir bothering you, Leo." She shyly stammered, attempting to walk away but Leo grabbed her wrist before he could second guess himself.

"I'd love to go on a date with you. And I would make a pun but nothing can top yours." Leo replied, shoving the words out of his throat before he can be too shy. She brightened immediately, her smile widening.

"Really?" She asked, turning to face him. Leo nodded and smiled, finding her happiness contagious.

She leaned in and so did Leo, the rest of the world fading to black. He was about to get his first kiss! With an awesome girl too! Maybe they should wait for their first date? Or do people normally kiss this soon? Maybe Leo should have watched more romance movies when he had the chance.

"Bleh, can you stop giving each other the lovey dovey eyes?" Donnie complained, all three of Leo's brothers appearing at the most inopportune time. Leo pulled away the same time she did, both looking like guilty kids.

"Time to go?" Leo asked, cringing at the way his voice squeaked. All of his brothers snorted and [Name] gave Leo a sympathetic smile.

"Yeah, lets go!" Mikey said, still looking far too hyper for it to be 10 pm. Raph rested his arm on Mikey's head, almost like it was his way to wrangle the younger boy.

Before they left, Leo and [Name] swapped phone numbers so they can plan a date and talk. Leo waved goodbye to her, smile spreading across his lips like invisible hands were forcing the joy on his face.

"You're such a dork, Nardo." Raph snorted, bit Leo was far too happy to even care about rebutting him. He may be a dork but he did get the girl.
