One Last Tome to fill.
A two-fold image combining my wants to an image of a Space Marine from the Tome Keepers chapter, while making a little homage to the old Dreadnought model design. Specially since games workshop has retired the iconic model in favour of the new bigger primaris version. So here is a revered brother of the Tome Keepers marching into battle to meet whatever end waits for him and his story. Enjoy!

Question: What is library sciences bc that sounds DOPE
Great question!
I seek to become a Tomekeeper, a guardian of curiosity, a guide to all that is known, unknown and unknowable.
The serious answer is that I’m studying to become a professional librarian. Many places don’t allow you to enter upper management (like a library director) without some kind of advanced degree. A lot of the classes focus around best practices for running a library, collections development, interacting with patrons and other things of that nature.

We'll begin with a big one: Despair Disease and it's origins.
Originally named by Archivist Thavos Flynn of the Starlight Tomekeepers, long before the founding of even the oldest city on Tanarai (that being the Blackstone city of Gor Nokush), Despair Disease can be traced all the way back to patient zero: The Old World itself, and the source of Despair: Tarr.
Not much is known about how *exactly* Tarr was/is created, but legend lores and experience from the Heroes of Lloesy (and some of Lavala's heroes, interestingly) have revealed it, at least in our world, to be the product of a ritual performed by the gods that killed every living organism on the Old World before its Ragnarok concluded.
There are no known details about this ritual, nor how it is performed. It is known, however, that it was how the Sealing occurred - thus creating the Sealed Ones' imperfect prisons.
Despair Disease's origins are of Tarr, and the symptoms will be explored shortly.

you say you have gambhorra'ta lore?
YES I DO hold on
Tumblr media
There is such bs lore on him but basically he's an ancient wizard and an acolyte of the God of cyclical control, the Eternal Tomekeeper, who's name is lost to the cosmos
He's the reason that the Narrator's story is escaping him, why the Narrator (who created the story and runs it on his own volition) can sometimes simulatenously feel like a victim of the same time loop. Because Gambhorra'ta serves a god of The Parable- of paradoxes, of endless cycles of ups and downs. Cat and mouse, life and death, night and day.
That's actually why the bucket is meant to bring comfort. Gambhorra'ta is like a Patron Saint of the buckets- because while he punishes misbehavior and theft, he is not entirely cruel. But in the same manner, the act of warmth and deprivation of thag warmth fulfills a similar cycle- When held, it's comforting; In it's absence, you feel empty.
I'd I'm just thinking about Gambhorra'ta and I might draw more of him because I enjoy him
Bonus fun fact: Both his two faces can speak and have distinct dispositions, though are considered to be the same person by different titles (Gambh and Orra'ta). Gambh is generous and kind, while Orra'ta is selfish and cruel. He's in a constant fight with himself- There's a bucket handle tied to it's horns, and whenever one face is active, the other is forced to bite down on the handle to keep himself from speaking.

Just thinking...I would 100% have been in favor of more stories with Loki and Flowa, the cosmic tomekeeper. They’re great together, and their relationship kind of mirrors others he’s had.* Let’s see:
Can kick Loki’s ass
Will not take his shit
Is sarcastic
Is sort of chaotic neutral/true neutral more strictly good in pursuit of knowledge (not shown here, but she goes along with some very questionable shit by other characters out of intellectual curiosity, and to chronicle it)
Loki wants her to come on adventures with him
...Given Loki’s past canonical friendships, I’d say she’s just his type (whether romantically or as a BFF).
*I guess I am mainly thinking of Leah, but certain elements do apply to Verity and perhaps even Zelma

Being a Scribe is an honorable, noble calling. Your family have been Scribes almost since the beginning, or so your ancestor's journals claim. The old archives have been passed from generation to generation, and now it is your turn to care for them. There is no proper order of Scribes to foist their morals upon you anymore, so the question is: what will you do with the knowledge entrusted to you?

Meanwhile....
After an interesting vision during the rising, Rabbit brought Knives to the foot of that same Sultan tree- and paid her respects to her ancestors. Paid tribute- and Knives, declared his claim and role as new heir to the family. Just a line of scribs, keepers of history and lore- but it was a proud legacy to have.

Fire in the Jungle
Tumblr media
Recently, one of our Dedicants, Kalrum Greatforge, wrote to me with concerns regarding the flora and fauna of the jungle filled region in southern Kalimdor, Un’goro Crater. An infection he suspected was sourced in the sword of Sargeras was affecting the area. Life there was becoming unnaturally aggressive and indeed not only showed signs of a corruption via protuding crimson veins but also very combustive. Worryingly this effect appeared to be spreading quite quickly through the local populations. Two Tomekeeper expeditions were held to investigate, and throughout these we did experience first hand such aggressive behaviour as well as a tendency for the plants and animals who were infected to often explode upon death. The second expedition led us into the depths of a Silithid hive wherein we did locate what appears to be the source... an artifact of unknown age, sealed in a chamber which was guarded by a minor Faceless One! We were very nearly forced to retreat, but through the fierce will and resourceful wit of our expedition members we were able to defeat the creature and removed the now dormant artifact from the chamber. It now sealed and warded, unable to infect or corrupt and indeed without the Faceless One it appears to have lost all power. I am also pleased to report, now that it has been removed, though the infected life of Un’goro is not cleansed, there is no continued contamination, so it appears that as those infected die off there will be no further spread of this infection. I am quite pleased with both the determined actions of our Dedicants upon the expeditions and the committed research performed by those who participated in such. Commendations are granted to the follow Dedicants Kalrum Greatforge (@kalrumgreatforge) Adael Selvorge Mariiku Grovethorn Liabelle Grovethorn Camir Delchamps Lonnieael Irontalon Ninrandir Al'dressi (@ninrandir) Zeulus
as well as Archivist Renascia

Little Clock
tick
tick

The ever present reminder of what they almost lost that night fills their room at the Inn. Most days it's easy to lose it in all the sights and sounds of the day, hidden in a smile, drowned in a laugh. Most days...

They exchange a brief look as they hold her sleeping form close, almost as if they knew that they wouldn't get another chance for a long while to come. It would have hurt more if they had known, considering all that has happened.

Only one of them is left awake now, fighting themselves in the silence. A sense of dread eating away at her mind, while not unusual, bites harder than any she's experienced before. The last time she felt this way, was the night she had to sell her self to save their daughter. The next time she'd feel it would be the day she died still having not found them.
tick

The pain of having given up so much to save their little girl, only to have to leave her in the hands of a vile man was inexcusable. She may very well be the monster they claimed her to be. At that moment, she wished she was. Perhaps if she had less a heart she wouldn't have tried to be a hero for people that probably won't miss her when she's gone. She needed to know her little one was going to be ok, even if she couldn't be there to see the woman she'd grow into.
"Your story is not over."
A spark of anger, and breath filled her lungs again. She knew she should be grateful for the second chance, but having given so much of her life already and knowing that this would not be an act of charity infuriated her. She was not going to let her family down again, so pushing that anger aside, she stopped holding back. It was time to use that intellect that she had sold her soul for, the same pool of knowledge that she's used to rebuild her daughter's heart.
"Keep ticking my Little Clock..."
She was done hiding. Even if she had to do it alone, she was not going to go quietly. She could do more than save a life with her machinations, she could also take lives with thunder, metal and fire.
She would rip anyone apart that tried to keep her from her family any longer. She longed to hear the tick of her Little Clock's heart again in the silence of the night, to know that she was safe.

Ref Sheet for Cloudberry Cookie, whom I adopted, once again, from CalopsYCHs on DeviantArt! The magic candy is an edited image of the plain magic candy from the CROB fandom wiki!
Stories and abilities under the cut!
Cookie Ability: Extends the ribbons on their back to destroy obstacles and create 10 Cloudberry Jellies for every obstacle destroyed, level up for more points per Cloudberry Jelly Candy Ability; Bookmark: Collect 3 bookmarks to create a Book Jelly, level up for more points per Book Jelly Pet Ability: Opens up and creates Word Jellies (spelling ICE), collecting all Word Jellies grants a short duration of invincibility, level up for a longer duration of invincibility
Cookie Story: From the seas, a tome was found. Ancient and full of confusing ruins, the tomb could not be translated by the captain of the Icepiercer. So it was brought to the City of Wizards, where the tomekeeper of The Archives accepted it and placed it in the safe shelves of the library. This tome however, did not only possess ancient runes, but also the ability to absorb the essence of those who held it to add to its pages. The essence was used to write the stories of the Cookies that held it, but when the runes ran out, the tome spat out the extra essence in the form of a Cookie! Cloudberry Cookie, the unlikely fusion of Blueberry Cookie and Captain Ice Cookie, is the only Cookie who can read ancient runes and lost languages, becoming a vital Cookie in The Archives despite the hectic and confusing introduction they had. They often can be seen wandering The Archives or on the shores staring out at sea, yearning to be at both places at the same time.
Pet Story: A thin yet heavy book, Lazy Tome does nothing but sit on a shelf all day and sleep. Whenever it is pulled out to be read or to accompany its Cookie, it will protest by flapping its pages. Quite futile and harmless though, the only annoyance it can create is if its Cookie was reading another book.
