Me: Hey, @frodo-with-glasses, can I copy your homework?
Lady Glasses: Yeah, just make sure to change it up a bit so it's not obvious you copied
Me:
My submission for Frodo-with-glasses' draw this in your style challenge! This actually turned out a LOT better than I had originally anticipated, and I'm pretty proud of it!

March 12th - Gollum leads Sam and Frodo to Shelob's lair
"Presently they were under the shadow, and here in the midst of it they saw the opening of a cave.
'This is the way in,' said Gollum softly. 'This is the entrance to the tunnel.'
He did not speak its name: Torech Ungol, Shelob's Lair. Out of it came a stench, not the sickly odor of decay in the meads of Morgul, but a foul reek, as if filth unnameable were piled and hoarded in the dark within."

Excavation of Torech Ungol
Although this may be a little bit off from the prompt, I couldn’t help but think about how an archeological excavation of Shelob’s lair would have played out. The interesting this is with typical archeological sites, such as the round barrow one mentioned in Anwen Cooper’s analysis, the clues from which hypotheses and theories are forms is off of the different artifacts that are still remaining. During the study of the Round Barrows, they came to the conclusion that “infrequent occurrences of earlymedieval pottery and metalwork in ring ditch fills—an iron knife at Tallington, a late early medieval strapend at Crimplesham – suggest that round barrowsdid operate occasionally as formal depositional con-texts” (Cooper 683) However in Shelob’s Lair, there would be tools from all over the place. Shelob is told to have feasted on elves and men, and she resided near Sauron’s dominion so orcs were definitely on the menu. I feel like the wide spread of different weapons armor and cadavers that are typically found all over the place would suggest that some sort of battle took place. However, typically, when an animal, especially a spider feasts, it organizes it’s food in a way that a battle with random body positioning would do. So this would again throw the study for a loop. Maybe if Shelob’s demonic body was to be found, the answers would start unraveling, no matter how outrageous they would sound, but given a spider’s physical structure, I doubt it. It’s definitely an interesting thought.

Mam Murgwid. Ungwetari. Takhborkhlob. Spawn of Ungoliant.
Shelob.
Daerhovan knew of Shelob and her many titles since he was an elfling. He hates to admit he was terrified of entering Torech Ungol, but the ungoledan Legolas and he met heard the call of Ungwetari once again, and had to be intercepted before he could lead their enemies right to her.
He managed to escape within an inch of his life as Shelob caught him by way of a secret passage, then she was driven back as his sovereign held aloft the light of Earendil. It took many hours for the primal fear to settle down. And Daerhovan deems he’ll hold onto Badari extra tight during the night to ward off the nightmares.
