mega rant: ewriels are truly nasty lmao, i knew they were but the eos art today proved it more

no shade to the artist, this is not about them; their art is good. im talking about the ewriel fandom

they camped in the artist's comments and qrts cheering and trashing elucien telling "hahahah so accurate she looks disgusted/uncomfortable with him!" and naturally, eluciens got upset because can't ewriels stay to their side and not trash elucien in an elucien fanart?

understandably, some eluciens were upset as well; because the artist has drawn fanon elain az, where az kisses her hand. but chose to draw a fanon elucien moment where elain looks away when lucien holds her hand. (maybe the artist is an ewriel, the bias is kinda obvious but let them draw what they want, it's their call totally though the timing sucks)

now ewriels, as expected, posted the two arts side by side on reddit, and are passive aggressively commenting. while also throwing blame on eluciens claiming they are the reason the artist shut down their comments. (ewriels were the ones flooding the comments delighted that elain looks uncomf)

astounded, im telling u. they distort things not just in canon it seems. rant over, thank u for listening

the main problem was Elriels under the post saying how “canon” that scene is and how Elain looks uncomfortable in that fanart just like in the books and saying they hate “fanon” fanarts, which is ridiculous because the same artist posted an Elriels fanart with Azriel kissing Elain‘s hand which is not canon, they didn’t have a problem with that. Yes, I’ve seen the Reddit one. I had to go and check it. I know this girl she’s an Elriels, people on Twitter and on Reddit thought that that the artist turned off the comments because Eluciens were being aggressive, but it was the other way around. If you have seen the comments before the artist turned them off you will see Elriels talking shit about Elucien.

What Just Happened Pt. 1

Episode 9 of only friends is THAT BITCH!!!!!!!

I don't know if I can fit everything I want into one post but we're going to try. I'll go scene by scene and insert my thoughts and reactions, as always, all opinions are valid, this is just mine!

Also I didn't screenshot everything because I'm lazy, but I got what I thought was most important (hehe)

Let's begin!

Starting off with Ray going to talk to Sand to clear things up after everything that went down at the party and Sand looking at him LIKE THIS^^ had my jaw on the floor and my nerves quaking

This whole conversation was tension filled from the moment that Ray walked into that music room. As much as people try to analyze Ray's and Sand's motivations, I'm a simple girl at heart, and I was honestly just kicking my feet and squealing because I live for angsty romance. The distance between them, the simmering anger, the love that bubbles underneath it all IS TOO MUCH FOR ME!!!!

I loved Sand's sarcasm, and the honestly it was a little out of pocket for Ray to go to Sand after everything and say that he "thinks" he understands his feelings more now. I too would've been like ok and???

This part had me in shambles because LOOK AT SAND'S FACE! The man he loves is a total dipshit but also the cutest thing alive (Khaotung privilege is real).

LOOK AT SAND WHEN RAY SHOVES HIM!!! I let out an actual scream because wtf was this like they have such insane chemistry I could feel it in my feet. Pushing each other away, but also not being able to stay away from each other. POETIC.

This was so chef's kiss I can't even begin to explain it. Like this is literally what people write about in books, being so desperate for someone that you kiss like you'll never get to kiss them again. I had to rewatch this like 18 times to get it through my head. (clearly because I've never had this LMAO)

This was then OBVIOUSLY interrupted because in what universe are they not interrupted lol. I will however say that I slightly agree with Top here because Mew and Ray haven't at all communicated on where they stand, but also it's implied that they're "together."

Overall this was an angry, desperate, HOT and important make-out for everyone involved.

Sand and Nick's Bestie Getaway was honestly one of the highlights of this episode for me. I think a big part of the plot of this show is how all of these "friends" are not actually very good friends to each other. So it is really heartwarming to see a healthy friendship between these two.

I honestly laughed a lot, and I like they're not part of the main friend group because it creates a good comparison.

(I'm treating everything in this part as "one scene")

I loved seeing Sand once again put his foot down. He is having fun with this bestie and he doesn't want to see Ray. TBH it was also just funny watching Ray get shut down but also get incredibly determined to find and see Sand.

This whole part made me laugh hahahah The face Ray makes when Sand hangs up on his is priceless.

camping was alright! As smooth as an experience like that could be. We checked things out, went and napped and got back at 3 am. But because (as matty made VERY clear from his jokes about dead bodies last night lmao) Baltimore is not a safe area at alllll the venue let us camp inside for the night. Where there was a security guard with us at all times. And thank god that was a thing cuz we did have some weird people stop by and try to come inside and cause drama.

BUT what I will say about camping is that you should find out who the line leader is and see if you have the option of getting your number registered and then leaving overnight to sleep for 7-8 hours then come back in the morning. Cuz apparently some people do this and we didn’t know. the way it usually works is there are check-ins every 3 to four hours from the moment that the line begins until the day of the show. During those check-ins the line leaders will line everyone up in order of your number, take your name and initial to make sure that everyone who’s supposed to be there is in fact there, that nobody is taking anyone’s spot, cutting in line, or trying to be in GA line when they don’t have a ticket (cuz apparently people do try this and see if they can sneak in?). Then you get the official wristbands from Mark and/or Tim and get to go home and you just have to be back before doors open.

BUT some line leaders are chill and will say there are check ins every 3-4 hours until 10 pm. At 10 everyone is allowed to go home/ to a hotel and sleep as long as they come back for morning check in at 6 or 7 am when the 3 hour check ins resume for the day. So you don’t NEED to be camped outside the venue if your line leader has that as an option. You just get your number, leave at 10 pm, come back the next morning having slept, eaten, etc.

some line leaders are more intense though and won’t let you leave. That person who’s been a fan since 2013 that I mentioned in my last reply has experienced both: some super strict lines and some chill. So def check Twitter and see who the leader is and what the rules are. Fans usually make huge group chats on Twitter and discord for each individual show so that people in line can update and say “we just did our check In we are currently at this number” so I would super recommend that you try to get into these gcs if you can. That’s how we kept an eye on the numbers while at dinner and stuff. just make sure to be back by the next check in time / wrist band line time because we did hear horror stories about fans for other shows going to get coffee, not knowing that wrsitbands were coming in 15 min, missing out on it and losing their spot. But that rarely happens if you come back by the time that you are supposed to. Like they give you 3-4 hours to do what you need to do. As long as you stick to that, it should be totally chill. we had a few people who were camping alone and they just joined us. Like a girl came up and said “mind if I sit with you?” And we were like yeah of course and she hung out. Then when doing check ins we got to meet the people who were directly before and after us cuz we lined up with them, and we made friends with them as well. So by the time that you actually get to the pit, you already know the people around you and you’ve bonded over freezing to death and being sleepy and discussing the band in great detail that everyone’s just so happy to share this experience together and sob and wail and scream about Ross being perfect and matty being a smol bean that the whole thing feels like a huge family. We literally referred to each other as a line family hahahah. Okay I hope this wasn’t overwhelming and overboard. But the gist is YOU ARE GONNA HAVE SO MUCH FUN as tiring as the camping process is, it’s worth it.

You say nothing as you breeze through the kitchen, trying to shake Perry off your heels. He's been in a tizzy over your little declaration the other day, unable to get over the fact that you may or may not find (antagonist) is attractive....and total romance material.

You feel his presence as you maneuver around the kitchen, trying to distract yourself. You grab the carton of juice from the fridge, plucking a cup from the stack near the sink. Perry watches you the entire time, the awareness of his gaze leaving a trail of goosebumps on your skin. How does someone tell another person to 'back off' politely? N would know, definitely. You make a mental note to ask...

Unable to handle it anymore, you give in and turn around the same time Perry teleports in front of you. Jolting, you drop the carton of juice on the floor, mumbling profanities under your breath. "Can you..." You make a vague gesturing motion with your hand.

Perry crosses his arms, hurt. "I'm just looking out for you, MC. I don't want to see you hurt."

"That's sweet, but I won't get hurt." You pick up the carton from the floor and unscrew the cap, pouring some in your glass. When you're done, you turn back around and lean against the counter, taking a sip. "I'm not even going to pursue that."

"Oh, yeah?" At your nod, he lets out a small breath of relief. "Good, I was beginning to debate on locking you in here until you get your wits back."

Your lip twitches and you slowly set the cup down. "Lock me up for finding someone attractive?" "Not just someone." He frowns, full lips curved in a slight pout. "But (antagonist)."

You huff a little. "Whatever. If I can't pursue that, then I'll just find someone else--actually, you know what? E's pretty hot, now that I think about it."

Perry stares at you for a moment, and you swear you see his eyes turn black. "What."

"What?" you ask innocently.

He lets out a massive breath that's a cross between a scoff and a laugh. He steps backward, shaking his head at you. "Very funny. That-that is a hilarious joke."

Now it's your turn to stare at him blankly.

He swallows. "You are joking, right? Please tell me you're joking, MC."

Another twitch of your lip. You can already see his hackles rising. Perry is so easily affected, it's kind of sweet. "Nope. Do you think E is single?" Your eyes widen, and you make a show of growing excited. "You think E would go for someone like me?"

"They're like fifty!"

"They're thirty-two...which, last time I checked, is only two years older than you."

"Okay, but to you, they are fifty. You're barely old enough to drink."

"I'm legal where you're from, you know."

"That's not the point!"

You let out a scoff, putting a hand on your hip. "So what does that say about you?!"

"The difference is that I'm youthful," Perry harrumphs.

"Sureeee." You smile a little. "Get used to it, Perry. You'll be seeing a lot of them soon, if I can help it."

"You--" Perry shakes his head. "Stop that. You're going to give me a headache." He puts a hand to his head. "It's happening already--"

"Relaxxxx," you say easily, "what's the problem with E?"

"Everything. Everything is the problem." Perry grabs your shoulders, though he keeps his grip soft. "Excuse my language, but E is satan reincarnated. They are..." He shivers. "The Worst."

"Worse than the (antagonist)?"

He looks at you sidelong. "Am I a bad person if I have to think about it?"

You sputter out a bark of a laugh so loud he flinches. "You are ridiculous!"

A red tinge rises up his cheeks. "You haven't known E as long as I have. They may charm you and let your guard down with their smile and their perfect teeth, but they're not as nice as they say they are. They're just waiting for the moment you become vulnerable so they can get you in their hands and--"

"I think you're projecting," you muse.

The blush on his face only strengthens. "Whatever. All I'm saying is, you deserve better."

"Awww."

"It's not funny!" "I'm not laughing!" you gape, but really, you are pretty amused. Perry's insistence on worrying about you and your love life is not only sweet, but hilarious. "You should really let go of whatever grudge you have against them."

"I don't have a grudge," he pouts.

"Sure." You pat him on the shoulder, smiling sweetly as you begin to move away. "Or maybe you're secretly in love with them?"

The face of pure horror you get in reply almost makes you choke on your spit. You move away from the kitchen, watching as Perry goes through several emotions ranging from horror, shock, to revulsion.

"Great talk," you say, clicking your tongue and shooting him one last wink before you leave the room.

You know one of the few works of fiction that has been haunting me for MONTHS is The Poppy War trilogy (the ending broke me just fine) but I can say now that your fic has the same effect on me, I will think about it for a long time, I will reread it again soon. It was a masterpiece. The emotions, the ANGST (❤️❤️), the characters and their characterization, the plot twists, everything was just so perfect.

Hey, I don't know if anyone's mentioned this to you before, but I just wanted to say making Vera's color scheme pink (with black) totally makes her super recognizable and iconic, you know? It's a genius character design choice to me because in all of Resident Evil, there's no other character that's "pink," so she really stands out in a fresh way. It's like you filled a gap we didn't even realize was there. Plus, she's got that whole tech vibe going on, which is so cool because she stands out from all the scientists and badass fighters dealing with bioterrorism. I just think she's awesome and the thought put into her design is top-notch! I miss her sm I hope you update soon <3

I was extremely particular about making her "recognizable" as you say, like memorable. Because good god RE has so many good female characters who are so unique, and color-coded somehow, honest to god I was like "WHAT IS LEFT IN THIS UNIVERSE I DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE A DISTINCTIVE OC WHAT AM I GONNA DO"

----- like, I had a friend who knows extremely early drafts of her, and embarrassingly she was a corrupt, snobby, scope-hungry journalist redhead who wore red and dressed like veronica lodge from riverdale 🙃🤐

and then she was korean for a while (this fell after i discovered ashiemochi's so-ah). and then turkish. and then the turkish journalist thing fell AS WELL because i discovered other journalist ocs on tumblr paired with leon and a turkish journalist on wattpad and i was like "oh my god fuck i am scrapping everything" (this idea later got recycled in moth to a flame)

first drafts are absolute hell, as you can see.

i actually dont remember how i got the pink idea. im also like. obsessed with color? i guess. i like to categorize so it's always fascinating when a character/thing is associated with a color/symbol/animal/ and owns it -- like, the girlies in RE -- they made Ashley orange-yellow, sheva purple (kinda? its not as prominent as the others), rebecca pistachio green, alex wesker white, ada cherry red, claire apple red and it just HITS, it could just be a me-thing though. It falls apart at one pointt I know, because how many characters can you color code hahahah (and they didnt even try with the men. they're shades of blue, all of them. or black. bo-ring. they went with the hair and body type for them while the girls got the colors kinda DDJSKDS) -- so take it with a grain of salt, it's just that I love color as a starting and developing point and I cant overgrow it 😭

but like. interestingly there was no pink pink character like you said — apart from moira burton that is who has it in like the hood of her jacket and bracelet and nowhere else, though she is a minor character? i guess in a zombie game franchise marketed to boys majorly in earlier years, they wouldn't really prefer pink LMAO so it was easier to bubblegum chainsaw an OC in since that was a deliberately left alone concept. I was like "mine now" and put a spin to it!!!!! I love that she's just black-pink. It's her whole thing. Such a satisfying thing to me to work with

Ok so, even if I'm actually impressed by all the stuff that happened, I feel like the only thing I can talk about (bcs I got better in it by reading u guys) is Byler and melvin, Im so sorry.

SPOILERS AHEAD:

This season has been rough. I have some issues and contradicts ideas. First of all, (this is about the calls and the first moments) Mike's treatment to Will could be again interpreted as he cared more of her girlfriend, or he was trying to avoid Will to face the reality . So, we could have two different positions about his feelings and it could be both valid but... Ok, to the important scene, the melvin fight.

So, I had two different thoughts, first one, it showed the lack of one of the most important things for the Duffer Brothers in a relationship: comprehension, understandment. if u remembered J*ncy's fight, it started because they "didn't understand each other anymore" which was again the Melvin situation they had. This is caused by one of the things that the duffers brothers have mention, Mike and Eleven comes from different worlds, and therefore they can't be together and they can't understand each other, like a ghost and a Ghostbusters or E.T and Elliot, that Lucas and Erica's scene with the two toys... So, this is good for byler, right?

Well I noticed sth else that kind of scared me, this fight had an obvious St*ncy parallel, which was the "ily" thing. It shouldn't be bad, we had been given this St*ncy - Melvin parallels, just like we had j*ncy-byler parallels, but... This first volume showed us that... maybe j*ncy isn't the endgame couple so, this season kind of turned upsidedown (lol) the byler parallels proofs, or at least the J*ncy-Byler ones (which doesn't delete the Mike-Hopper ones that could be giving us anti-melvin proof still).

But again, the fact that J*ncy could not be endgame is another way of helping Byler (because all of the two brother thing¿? but they did it with El anyway-). Let's say that it makes things for Mike and Will much more easy and less weird to see for the audience.

And it is so funny to me because that's why I am so confused, they gave us proof telling us yes, and no HAHAHAH.

Another example of this is the "best friend" scene: Sr did u just asked him to be ur best friend when u are telling him he is the MOST SPECIAL person you had (LMAO where was that special Lucas-Mike relationship Dustin talked about??Things change ik, but still, it could be Byler proof, but not necessarily) and that he missed him so much eventhough you didn't called him more than 3 times (which would totally support that theory of the avoiding feelings. If you missed someone u would call them lol).

And, the part where Will tells Mike THAT quote, about telling the truth even if it hurts, we can't be sure if he's just reflecting his feelings about his confession onto Mike and El, or is a total foreshadowing of what is about to happen with this "ily" thing.

Another thing I was so surprised to see is that, Mike wasn't only reading the letter in front of that sign pointing at the closet, but IN the letter, it had rainbows on it, WTF (that is not only related to LGBT, but WILL and Will and Mike too (that rainbow heart draw from Mike's bassement in the very beginning of the 1st season??)

Even so, I felt like this season, everyone has used rainbows and it seemed like they didn't have a meaning anymore (Like Nancy's hair accesorie, or other clothes too).

I also wanted to point out that the roller rink byler fight had BLUE and YELLOW colors like----.

Another thought is that Mike's feelings have been shown as admirence towards El. The first scene where Dustin is talking to Mike about their girlfriends, Mike says that she saved the world and he only kept repeating that thought but, he didn't actually showed love, he showed again, admirance (that is why El wanted to keep being a superheroine, so he could keep Mike's feelings) throught out the season.

If you mix this with the fact that he can't say he loves her, the theory and interpretention of Mike avoiding Will and his feelings, and that Will's truth quote could be a foreshadowing, it could work for byler A LOT.

Also and I almost forgot to mention, the "it has always been" scene or sth like that), at the end it resulted in a Byler scene, and I wanted to remember the theory someone came up about the poster¿? thing in the back (the square one) that it was somehow (I don't remember how) connected to LGBT people again so, Byler in front of another LGBT icon? yeah.

That's why I am so confused rn, but I am still hopefull bcs of that "telling the truth" scene, and that it has this different proofs, so this doesn't confirm or deny anything.

And we still have to watch Mike's speech and Will's drawing which I am so excited about.

This is all so caotic but, as i am so confused rn, I can't put them together. But this post will help me to organize my ideas and split them one by one, I just wanted to take all these notes first.

So these were all my Byler thoughts through out the season, I am really looking foward to read yours.

PLUS: funny how Jonathan and Nancy have the same couple problems than Mike and El, lying.

First of all, we really do think alike apparently, because I also checked the wordcount of my feedback before sending it and it's probably the longest one I've ever written and will ever write. Even without all of the quotes it's like over 2k words, I really don't know how to shut up 😭😭😭

I can just read about your stories forever, even when it comes to commentary about them.

I watched the mv for 'when you're gone' and I totally agree with you that that scene matches OC's mood in the beginning of the chapter very well 😔😔😔 It also matches the way I was reading the Valentine’s day drabble, smiling at how adorable they were when I knew how we left off in cmi6. I've said it before but I'll say it again, the thing that hurts the most is knowing how happy they're able to make each other and seeing how they're now hurting each other instead 😭😭😭

Also about the rambling to my sister lmao. Cmi is the first fic I've properly talked to her about (she reads fanfic too, just not bts ones) and I was fully ranting to her about how Jungkook was keeping everything in and trying to be strong until he couldn't anymore, and now he's ignoring OC, I don't think I've ever ranted so much even about a real life person lmao.
