I don't really see much of a clear pattern, except where I abruptly changed fandoms. (If you know, you know.) I like a bit of understatement - you wouldn't tell from the first fic that the emperor the galaxy just died, or from the fourth that an epic space battle was raging on. I often like to take a breath before diving into the thick of it.

Also looking at these stories, man. I used to write more and write recklessly. Throw in a bunch of artwork that only took an hour or two instead of weeks. It used to be so easy to put myself out there. I miss that.

Just FYI, the Geoff accuser updated the doc to say the Geoff isn't a predator and didn't know Ryan was a predator. He (allegedly) had a consensual, non-coerced one night stand with a consenting adult, and (allegedly) knew that Ryan had one too. Of course there is a power imbalance between fans and creators but it's not inherently problematic to sleep with a consenting adult fan if you aren't leveraging that imbalance to coerce them - look at Jack and Caiti. He's not a predator for dating her but she was a fan when they met. The thing that makes Ryan a predator was that they were extremely young, mentally ill, emotionally reliant on him, groomed, lied to, manipulated and abused. None of that is the case with Geoff, and I think he was separated from Griffon at the time so it wasn't even an affair.

Thanks for this, I’m still gonna wait until Geoff says something before I begin to speculate but I would like it known that this blog does not support Ryan Haywood anymore and hasn’t done since his statement.

When the info first came out I went from supporting him to neutral until I got to hear if these were true or fake, I did the same thing with Trevor.

This blog is no longer neutral towards Ryan and does not like him. Due to personal reasons I don’t like discussing the things that he has done, they’re quite triggering for me so I would really appreciate it if I didn’t get anymore asks about him or what he has done.

Could Ryan go to jail for all the horrible things he’s done?

TW: grooming of minors, statutory rape, sexual assault, predatory behaviour, general awfulness.

Technically, yes. I cover this in more detail in my clarification comment (which has to be read in conjunction with Updates 1-21 in my original Out Of The Loop comment(s) to make sense). If the accounts from the two 17 year olds are true, he's committed several felonies (statutory rape, distributing sexual images to a minor, possessing child pornography, promoting sexual performance by a minor, online solicitation of a minor, possibly sexual assault depending on the legality of removing a condom during sex wherever that took place, possibly trafficking under the Mann act if he made plans for a minor in a state where the age of consent was 18 to come to a state where it was lower for sex e.g. Texas where it is 17). Any or all of these could see him serving jail time and being put on the sex offenders register. The "but he thought she was 18/she lied about her age!" defense is irrelevant: in Texas, sexual offences relating to minors are strict liability (i.e. 'no excuses') crimes. 'Mistake of age' (i.e. he really believed they were 18) is not a viable legal defense.

What's debatable is whether it would ever reach court. None of the victims that have come forward so far seem interested in pressing charges and he's probably actively destroying evidence as we speak. Unless a third party or the state presses charges, and a prosecutor can build a strong case with victim testimonies and salvaged evidence, I'm not sure it will go anywhere. His marriage, career, and ability to manipulate fans like this are, at least, over, but it's unclear whether he can or will face legal justice. But it's also possible that more victims have come forward directly to RT or to the police, without making it public, so I also wouldn't be surprised to see a news article about his arrest. I guess we'll see.

Its confirmed that there are multiple girls that this has happened to. He was asking if they were in high school. Hes a fucking predator. Stop defending this piece of shit just because you like the content he was in.

I didnt think the news about ryan would hit me so hard but damn it has so much.

He was for sure a favourite of mine ever since he was introduced on the channel in like 2014. Its so awful to know someone i thought would never in a million years do anything like this, has.

If anyone wants to chat and cry, ill be sleeping soon but inbox is open as always. These are hard times in the community but remember you are okay and you will be okay.

Just in case people are not caught up and find this; Ryan has left RT and has emphasised that nothing that happened was illegal. From what I've seen its pretty clear he was messaging fan(s?) and cheating on his wife.

Sidenote; DO NOT PARTAKE IN HARASSING HIS FAMILY!! HE STILL HAS 2 SMALL CHILDREN AND A WIFE AT HOME WHO ARE COMPLETELY INNOCENT!

Mostly because RT was my way to cope... I don't think I can post about this at all. Creepshow made a video on him and I don't think I can watch that either.

So if you guys are here, I'm here for you... But I don't think I will really process any of this. I don't even feel shocked, I feel numb. I feel fuzzy. I feel empty. Along with my bad coping mechanism disorder thing that makes everything hazy.

While Meg was distracted by an old friend, Ryan took the opportunity to find them something to drink. He soon found a bar and waited to be served. While he waited, Ryan took a moment to survey the party, looking as casual as he possibly could. He hadn’t seen his target yet, but it was only a matter of time. 

“James?” A familiar voice jolted Ryan out of his quiet surveillance. 

A quick glance to the side confirmed what Ryan had feared. His father, Thomas Haywood, was stood right next to him.

Luckily, Ryan's face was totally disguised by his wolf mask. “...No.” He mumbled, doing his best to disguise his voice.

“Ryan.” Thomas continued, knowing that, for some reason, his son preferred to use his middle name. 

“I think you have the wrong person.” Ryan stated, trying not to panic.

His father smiled fondly. “Ah, I’m sorry. It’s just you remind me of my son. He ran away from home recently and I see him everywhere.”

“...Oh?” Ryan prompted, morbidly curious.

“Yes. We’ve tried to give him his space, but it’s difficult, you know?” Thomas took a long swig of his drink. This surprised Ryan who had never really seen his father drink alcohol before. “You try to do the best you can but sometimes its just... not good enough.” 

“What happened?” Ryan found himself asking. He knew that he should have left the second he spotted his parents, but he found himself rooted to the ground, desperate to hear more. 

“He was a good kid.” Thomas expanded, ordering another drink. Ryan wondered how many he had consumed already. “Top of his class. Active in extra curriculum stuff. Not very sociable with kids his age. But kids are jerks. I don’t blame him.”

Ryan suppressed a chuckle.

“I don’t know what happened. Our good little kid started doing bad things... Now he’s a criminal. I don’t know what we did wrong.”

“It’s not your fault.” Ryan assured him.

“How can you be so sure?” Thomas challenged, swallowing his drink in one swift swig.

“Some people are just... like that.” Ryan tried to explain. “There’s no reasoning behind it. No tragic backstory which lead to a life of crime. It’s just... who they are. Nature over nurture I suppose.”

“I wish we could have done more...”

“... Try reaching out to him. Maybe if you talked, you’d understand more about him?”

“You-” Before Thomas could finish his thought, the firm hand of his wife pressed down on his shoulder. “Martha.” 

“Come on Dear.” She responded firmly, clearly not impressed with his drinking. "We really should be leaving.” 

“Have you met my new acquaintance here? Mr...?”

“Perrault.” Ryan responded quickly.

“Well, Mr Perrault.” Ryan's mother flashed him an apologetic smile. “We really must be going.” 

Everyone jumped as a barrage of gun fire could be heard at the main entrance. Ryan sighed when he spotted Craig, one of the heads of  the Screw Attack Crew, with one arm around a hostage. He was using his free hand to wave a gun around menacingly. “Everyone listen up!” Craig demanded. “This is a robbery. I want every cent of your money or the girl here gets it.” He pressed the gun to the temple of the girls head. Ryan snarled when he realised that it was Meg that was being threatened. 

“Someone has to do something.” Martha Haywood gasped quietly. 

“I’m on it.” Ryan stated confidently, striding towards the hostage situation. He had no plan. But he knew that he wasn’t going to let anyone harm a single hair on Meg’s head.

AH Fic Question

I have some fic on an older account and I'm moving to merge that old account with my current AO3 account, continuing old storylines and such.

HOWEVER.

So back in the day - WAY back in the day, like in 2016 - I wrote some Achievement Hunter fanfiction.

I worked really hard on it, and I liked it.

BUT. This was before we knew about what a creep Ryan Haywood actually is. So a lot of this fic is featured around the Minecraft Kings 'verse. Including a popular fic in the Achievement Hunter fandom at the time, called We Were Kings. I'm not usually a fan of orphaning work. I like to be recognized for my work. But I'm also not sure I want... I don't know. In this fic, he's a character? But in real life, he hurt real people. I don't know what to do here.

I don't want to keep the old account at all. Do I orphan the work? Move it to my current account with a heavy disclaimer and significant trigger warnings? Take it down completely?

What is the AH community doing to deal with things like this now? I've been gone for so long -- I'm only coming back now after years away, because everything that happened with Haywood brought up my own trauma. So what would the community suggest?

I kinda feel like shit so I wrote this

You told me that fear is like any other emotion, It comes and it goes.

Then tell me why I feel it everyday? When I go to bed, I feel my heart race This heat in my head tells me to run away It makes me feel nauseous

I can't sleep The tears falling from my eyes can only do so much The chamomile and sleep pills can only calm so much Sometimes I wish I could go back to two years ago

When I stood in my room with a knife in my hand Sometimes I wish that I made a different decision But then I think of all the things that I've gotten By staying alive.

Fear still haunts me and keeps me hidden but resilience and happiness keep me here Maybe I should've died that night But I'm alive now, and I ain't going anywhere yet

I've got too many things to look forward to Even if it feels like I'll never get to them I'm everchanging, somedays I feel down some I feel whole.

Only so much fanfiction can heal this hole Only so many poems from people who feel the same Or stories from others who've gone through it They keep me alive to know I'm not alone.

To tell people it gets better, which it does. It gets easier to ignore that voice in the back of your head But that doesn't mean that it goes away.

You just become stronger and my dear, how strong you can become I hope you live to see it I hope you live to see the beauty in perseverance

I hate you because you've proven to be a piece of shit But I do thank you for showing me that I deserve to live. You did unspeakable things and somethings that made me laugh now make me cry. My heart goes out to your victims who's lives have been affected, to your wife and kids who didn't deserve this.

I'm not a victim, to get that clear, I'm just one of the people who understand what they went through I'm just happy I'm alive and well And to all, a happy life in Hell.

For anyone wondering why there’s an influx of hatred towards this PREDATOR/ support of a community that’s been violated: speaking as a fan and not necessarily on behalf of the entire community, I feel betrayed by someone I looked up to. Someone who was a role model for his kids. Someone who put on the mask of being a loving husband and father. A selfish jackass who emotionally, mentally, and physically abused women. A heartless bastard who stabbed his friends and coworkers in the back and abused the trust of fans. Why did he do the shitty things he did? Because he wanted to fuck. That’s it. Yeah, there’s more to everything, and I’m a bit biased against him, but it doesn’t change the fact that he willfully did all of these things, and blackmailed the women to try to keep them from coming forward. The man is a disgrace. He’s hurt countless people, destroyed his marriage, abused vulnerable fans, tainted a company that trusted him.

This is just one story. There are others. Trigger warning for violence, manipulation, language, and other things I might be forgetting

And just remember that what this monster did is no reason to attack his friends and certainly not his family. And never attack the victims. Fuck you, Ryan Haywood. I hope you burn.

Achievement Hunter/LetsPlay

A cast of about 11 people play video games Very badly. I’m going to break this down into different series because honestly? They produce a Lot of content, and not everything is for everyone. I probably won’t elaborate on series within series so if you wanna know, drop me an ask?

Minecraft:

Their longest running series at over 400 episodes, Minecraft Lets Plays run from soothing (Let’s Builds, Skyfactory One at most times, some of achieveland) to the most stressful thing you’ve ever seen (Ya Dead, Ya Dead and the King series). They’ve done builds, they’ve done mod packs, they’ve done servers, it’s wild.

GTA V:

Split between races, Heists, and Things To Do, their GTA V is their second longest running series with 402 episodes at the time of writing. It’s spawned an entire set of alter egos known as the Fake AH Crew, and has created some fairly iconic moments. I would recommend their Heist videos, especially Michaels Heist and the Criminal Masterminds series, as they’ve some of my favourite.

GMOD:

The Achievement Hunter cast is very very good at lying to each other, so they found a game where they can do that. Split between Prop Hunt, Trouble in Terrorist Town (TTT), Murder, and their own creation “Death Snail”, they have roughly 130 episodes of lying, shooting, and betrayal, it’s great.

Play Pals and Battle Buddies:

Putting these two together because they’re both pairs of people playing video games badly.

Battle buddies features Ryan Haywood and Jeremy Dooley playing FPS games pretty well (such as Wolfenstein, Doom, Far Cry, Portal and more). I think there’s lore but honestly? I have not being paying very much attention

Play Pals is Michael Jones and Gavin Free being Very Very Bad at games. They’re currently playing “Please Don’t Touch Anything”, but they’re also known for Human Fall Flat and Super Bunny Man

Hardcore [Game]:

The hardcore series sees Achievement Hunter take a family friendly game (such as Monopoly and Mini Golf) and introduce High Stakes and wacky costumes. It’s Fun, it’s Manic, and I don’t know how some of them are still alive tbh

Off Topic:

Off Topic is the official Achievement Hunter podcast. Each episode is roughly 2 hours and there’s over 200 episodes. Usually it’s getting drunk and talking shit, but like, it’s funny

Red Web:

Red Web is a new achievement hunter podcast, hosted by the “AH Twins” (Trevor Collins and Alfredo Diaz). It explores online mysteries and cryptic stories spanning the decades. Available wherever you listen to podcasts

This Just Internet:

Fiona Nova attempts to teach the rest of Achievement Hunter about memes and Tik Toks. Includes up to date memes at the time of each episode airing, a revolving cast of three hunters + Fiona, and a recent section about and featuring community made memes

Let’s Roll:

The Achievement Hunter board game show, currently hosted by Larry the Games Wizard. Includes a wide range of board games, including some recurring ones like Coup, One Night Ultimate, and The Red Dragon Inn. Always fun to watch them screw each other over (this time with cards)

AH Animated:

Little 2-3 minute clips from across everything Achievement Hunter does, but this time animated by some Extremely talented people. Always very funny, and usually include good callbacks to earlier points that are fun to spot.

Between the Games:

Ever wonder what happens when you lock 11 overgrown children in a room together? A lot of property damage. Usually it’s messing around with food, throwing things at their rapidly deteriorating ceiling, or causing the most pain to themselves and their coworkers (seriously, these guys are a health hazard)

Umbrella Academy

Seven siblings try to survive in a world of superpowers, time travel, the apocalypse, and other basic threats.

Season two has just come out on Netflix and it’s actually pretty good?? Very bingeable. Trigger warnings for guns, knives, drugs, war, gore, bombs, blood, and cults. Season two also deals with racism and homophobia (although it does this very well, without using really bad slurs (I think, can’t remember that well))

Watcher

Y’all remember the Ghoul Boys, Shane Madej and Ryan Bergara? Well they grabbed Steven Lim and started their own channel, Watcher.

It has some really good series, such as “Weird And/Or Wonderful World”, “Are You Scared?”, and my personal favourite “Puppet History”

Murder Room/On The Spot

I’m lumping these two very different series together because of their ever suffering host, Jon Risinger

Murder Room:

In the near future, the Justice System is dead and instead they lock a jury of four people in a room with the Host and an AI named Jessica. They get 30 minutes and a bunch of clues to work out who did it and hand an immediate death sentence to one of three suspects.

This is a completely finished series of 10 episodes, available on YouTube with video, or on podcast apps. Each case is completely different, the jury is never repeated, and it can be both really fun and really stressful. Trigger warnings for death, blood, gore, knives, guns, smoking, and drugs

On The Spot:

Join two teams of two players and the ever suffering host, Jon Risinger, as they battle it out in different improv comedy games to find out who can make Jon regret his life choices the most. None of the points matter, but then again nothing really does

It’s got actually funny improv comedy, 15 complete seasons that you can jump around in, and games that can be really creative at times. Trigger warnings for guns and knives in some episodes, I haven’t seen them all so I can’t exactly say what else there is (sorry)

Unraveled

In this Polygon series, Brian David Gilbert (The man with the Energy of a feral raccoon on energy drink) gets way too into video games. It’s like if Mythbusters replaced explosions with video game lore, and still managed to get the same effect
