Have the Spear of Leonidas instead :) Like Bayek, this one was based on an old sketch - finishing it traditionally was a little challenge I gave myself. ('little' she says, you know, like a fool)

I started drawing between 5-8? My eldest sister was an artist and I always tried to copy her stuff, my first drawings were all box head anime chibis tho and I have kept most of them ahsjsbsh (I have kept almost every art piece I've ever done and I'm really glad I have! It's nice to go through them and see my progress)

Honestly both are the same amount of relaxing for me! If i'm at home I definitely go for digital because I'm almost always at my desk but if I'm out and have paper and a pencil I'll doodle traditionally. My digital art always turns into a whole piece though and mindlessly doodling is easier traditionally.

🎁 Do you prefer drawing fandom stuff or your own characters?

They both relatively give me the same amount of serotonin, I do enjoy drawing my oc's most though. I feel a lot less constraints with my oc's because I can draw them in any way I want, doing whatever and it's all canon and it doesn't matter if it's not 100% on model and I don't have the worry of anyone judging me because it's my oc and what I say goes. Aaaand it's just a blast being able to bring what's in my brain to life and share it with people!

With fandom stuff I adore drawing my fave blorbos but a lot of that art I don't share because I don't know what the reception will be to it and it's mostly self indulgent like putting John in makeup and a dress unironically bc I love fucking w gender presentation and fashion through my blorbos and it brings me joy to draw.

🌊 What’s the hardest thing for you to draw? 

FUCKIN. CARS LMAO ANYTHING THAT YOU HAVE TO DO ART MATH FOR. Organic stuff i'm relatively good with but as soon as it's got sharp angles and lots of detail that needs to be perfect or it looks Wrong I suffer immensely. I'm working on it though so hopefully I'll improve enough that it won't kill me everytime I attempt to draw it.

behind the curtain ep 4

bit late with this one but i wanted to finish laundry first so here we go.. notes on this bitch

right off the bat, yes! i did rotoscoping!

what! after avoiding it since 2017!! shoutout to jennifer @antoniosvivaldi for inspiring me to do that, btw. you should absolutely check out her stuff if you haven't already--her style is so unique and refreshing!

for the most part, i think they turned out swell--after effects behaved itself for once, which like, thank fuck, because i was on a call with fio @maranello and others at 1 in the morning like "haha! i totally know what i'm doing!" narrator voice they did NOT know what they were doing, they were making educated guesses based on past horrible experiences (hence avoiding rotoscoping for years 💀).

but this is meant to be educational lol so! what is rotoscoping? simply put, it's a tracing technique. it has its roots way back in animation when tech was starting to pick up in like the 1920s and artists wanted a more efficient way of animating. rotoscoping is one of those tools that've been used differently from how it was originally intended, which is actually? so cool from like, a media arts study perspective?? because it's commonplace to use it for live-action film and vfx work as a way to mask scenes out and isolate them in addition to its original use of mapping things to isolated scenes. i won't bore you with the stuart hall encoding/decoding stuff, but just know that i find the development of digital art circa adobe dominance fascinating. i am using this century-old animation technique to impose my blorbo upon the eyes of thousands.

ANYWAY. i really liked this particular mask--it has a lot of movement but still manages to flow nicely?

next up: the lightsaber

goodness. where do i start. well first of all i had a vision of something much more 2d when it comes to lightsaber anatomy, lol. but i extended my subscription for maxon and figured--why not take full advantage of this while i've still got it? so i got this 3d model of luke's lightsaber. it's untextured and unrigged and clunky but thankfully it had most of the inner parts so as far as i'm concerned i struck GOLD.

idk what i can really say in terms of like What Is 3d Modelling, because i think people have an understanding of that. so we'll go instead thru my process!

i added materials and added a null object (does that count as rigging? for something as straightforward as this?) to do a simple rotation animation on the first day...

and then i had an idea before bed to separate the parts like that one scene in the clone wars where they show how a lightsaber is assembled, except i haven't watched the scene so god knows how they animated it NKJFGNDFKJGDF. anyway the day after, this was kinda where i got:

keyframing on c4d is a Bitch because u can't just Access The Graph Editor you have to go through the dope sheet and change ur views and it's just. annoying!! coming from an after effects standpoint! but i can see how it's optimized for Actual Animation work so ughgh. we deal. onwards..

asked the team over at usergif and natalie @kenobiis suggested putting in a kyber crystal to fill out the middle. i ended up taking the og "laser" cylinder and modifying/animating it because uh THIS is the real inside of a lightsaber and i am not putting all that into a 3 second gif LMAO. but yeah i fine-tuned the animation and plopped it in after effects, then fiddled with video copilot's saber to make luke's blade.

u might notice the motion blur--that's re:vision's RSMB! i also added a little bit of depth of field with frischluft, but it doesn't show up well in gif form. speaking of things that don't render well:

there is A FUCK TON of aliasing going on. i couldn't make any anti-aliasing settings work for some reason so i ended up trying to smooth it out in ae.. to probably not a lot of effect. i got the very edges around it smoothed out with the classic gaussian blur and a matte choker method, but the black rings are killer. ugh. it's whatever, i figure i'll work something better out for the next time.

everything else is fairly basic and intuitive i think? obviously used shape layers + alpha mattes, my beloved. i fucked up a little on the text because i think i made my offset keyframes backwards somewhere in the middle of the process but at that point i was too lazy to go back in and fix it. oops!

As stated on the Patreon post, assuming the stickers turn out well, there's a good chance that they will be included in some future promotions (perhaps not the specific stickers made for the con, but some stickers). However, because production/shipping costs makes them significantly more expensive than my postcards, they will be on the appropriate Tiers to reflect that base cost.

Other merch that cannot be included in standard flat envelopes with stamps postage are a lot more complicated. I currently do not have the bandwidth to manage shipping things, especially not managing an online store and the vast number of tasks that entails. Even attempting to do so would mean I would need to halt all of my digital content so I have the time to handle that.

That would mean zero new art. Zero new fic chapters. Zero nothing.

I would maybe need to take one month, possibly two months off to figure out an online store. I tried once before, and it was incredibly stressful and I never got to opening, and that was before I had my current very demanding job. I would assume many of my patrons would drop during my time away due to lack of content, and in addition to a store costing money to run, and the amount of money i would need to invest in product packaging/label print/everything, it would put me in a bad place financially, physically, and mentally.

In addition to that, taking that much time away from my current projects runs the very real risk of me ditching them. Without an outlet for my stories, my enthusiasm for them will wither rapidly. So there's a decent chance that I will ditch most if not all of my current ongoing AUs. If the experience is miserable enough, I may just drop my current fandom entirely to get away from the association...

Plus like. Making art and fic is what I love. I hate business and figuring out new systems and handling money and shipping and going to the post office. i would be miserable ;_; Just thinking about it makes me want to cry.

All of this to say, again, while I wish I could take your money, snap my fingers, and get any merch I choose to make into your hands, it unfortunately is more complicated than that, and I currently just don't think I have the bandwidth to handle a store. If I could quit my day job, sure! Might be possible. But alas, while I am deeply appreciative for all the support on Patreon and it helps immensely, I do not make enough on it to live by it alone.

I understand that some artists manage to have an online store, and I feel immense respect for their abilities to manage it and gratitude for their effort, which I too have benefited from by being able to purchase from them. But in the end, not all artists are the same. Perhaps they don't produce as much regular digital content as me, or perhaps they don't have a day job, or perhaps they have people who can help them. Perhaps their circumstances are the same as mine or worse, and I just can't manage my time/am an slow creator. All I can say is I'm already working at the maximum capacity of what I personally can handle, and unfortunately there's no wiggle room for a project as vast as an online store.

(this is not me asking for advice on how to start a shop, or looking for people to reassure me it's easy. That's wonderful for you, but again I don't think I can manage it atm)

If it's just leftovers of merch from the con and they're in the single digits, I may be able to reach out to patrons on a case by case basis, and just send Paypal invoices rather than opening a store proper. But I also intentionally chose designs and fandoms that do not age out and merch that stores well, so it may be better for me to keep my extra stock for my next con. We'll see how it looks after I get the merch in hand, and the situation after the con!

I may also feel more optimistic at a later date, but right now I am extremely stressed, frazzled, and tired from combo of Clonetober + preparing for ANYC next month, so just the idea of a store is...Very Bad ^ ^;

I will try to update my inprint next month though, so that all of my prints available at ANYC will be there online too!

Apologies for the long response, but I hope this clarifies my current situation and the possibility of merch online. I really wish I could do more, but I am just a single creator, who is not at all well off, who is juggling a full time job + full time content creation, and whose mental/physical state is always one sneeze away from shattering. I wish my circumstances were good enough that I could accomplish more, but I'm also grateful for what I have now, and hope that what little I can offer is enough.

Not sure I'm the exact right person for this oral history, but since the birdsite is imploding and advertisers might fucking try some shit over here it's a good time for all of us to remember everyone's favorite meme: "John C Miller, CEO and President of the Denny's Corporation, is a Capitalist Running Dog and his wealth must be seized and redistributed to the people”

Back in '16 or so, Denny's had a reasonably large presence on this site, from a non-artistic standpoint it's fair to say that whoever was running that blog did a pretty good job of keeping up to date on the current memes and staying relevant. Many of us, myself included, kinda just got used to them being here and let it happen, gave it little thought, maybe gave it a chuckle from time to time. At some point someone was like 'actually it sucks that a major corporation is trying to hang out with us and be our friend, they were, of course, absolutely right, and their genius response was to create a meme that they couldn't fucking coopt, hence "John C Miller, CEO and President of the Denny's Corporation, is a Capitalist Running Dog and his wealth must be seized and redistributed to the people" became the fun new thing.

"Coopt this you old so and so" was the idea and it worked pretty well, they did try it, but in a way that clearly was dancing around the central premise everyone knew they wouldn't be able to engage with. They stuck around for a little while longer, but it was clearly a major turning point in their ability to use this site to hang out with us, a good thing.

The point, as advertisers try to find new, less feral places to spend their advertising budgets, is that we don't have to just ignore them, that's a good start, but we can bite their fucking hands if they try it. We do not have to play nice with advertisers trying to be our friends, we can be feral.

Anyhow, I definitely am not positive I've gotten every detail right, so if there's any major corrections anyone needs to add, feel free, memedoccumentation had a post about it that helped me refresh my memory although my analysis of aspects differ from this point in history, as it were, but if you want to read up a bit more this is a solid starting point that has some fun examples

What brush settings to you use? :3

I'm trying out digital art at the moment and I thought you'd be a good person to ask!

Not trying to copy you or anything, I'm just curious and I want to play around a bit so I can find something that fits me

It's cool! Honestly I would say it depends on what app youre using and what you're using to draw on. I use Autodesk Sketchbook on a cheap Walmart tablet with my fingers lmao

Everything I use is p much on default on mobile, which is basically the same as desktop but turn pressure off. For sketching I use a felt pen brush and for inking the actual line art I either use the same thing or I go for the inking pen brush.

Here's a fun tip, if you are one of the people who does a sketch layer first lower the opacity on it when you go to trace over for line art and make a layer above it, that way you won't trace over the wrong layer.

As for coloring I typically make a copy of the line art layer and use a fill bucket on the bottom line art layer after increasing the tolerance a bit. At least for flat colors. In terms of shading though, I kind of just mess around until I find what works. I do like the soft airbrush for shading/highlights though, and the tattoo inker is pretty cool too! I also highly recommend finding a way to use the salty watercolor brush it's one of my faves, I can make some pretty cool clouds using it :>

I dunno if this helped or not but the way I do digital art is definitely different than what most artists have learned how to use. That's why the drawings I do on my gf's tablet look a little crude because I have no idea how to use an *actual* drawing tablet. Doing my belated 2023 art review. Putting it below a read more because a lot of stuff happened this year and some of it is kind of heavy.

2023 was a pretty good year for me, both personally and artistically. I had a couple of annoying minor medical issues that I'm still dealing with, but I'd say I was able to maintain my goal of drawing at least one little doodle a day for most of the year. I will say though that the vast majority of what I drew this year - probably like 95% - was personal art. Hopefully someday I'll be satisfied enough with it to post it. I'd also like to spend 2024 focusing more on painting and practicing landscapes. I spent the first three months of the year working on a piece for a local art gallery competition, which actually ended up getting accepted and subsequently spent the rest of the year touring around the state in several different exhibitions. That introduced me to the wonderful world of trying to figure out how the hell digital prints and shipping work, but everything turned out fine in the end. It remains the largest piece I've ever made at 18"x24", and hopefully once I get it shipped back to me I'll be sending it off to my parents. I also found out that I HATE writing artist's statements, like fuck off you don't need to know my background, just interpret the piece however. I'd like to post here, but I want to make sure first that it hasn't been uploaded to the internet by any of the galleries since I'd like to keep my personal info off this blog lmao What's funny is that I feel like I've come so far as an artist ever since I submitted that piece, that every time I look at the B-grade prints I have lying around I'm like "oh my god this looks terrible, I can't believe this got accepted". I guess that's just what being an artist is like Following that, I took the next month off from art, which was a nice little break. I did a bunch of art parties in FFXIV, which are always great for improving, because as counter-intuitive as it seems the best way to get good at art is to be forced to draw a whole bunch of different things under strict time limits. I feel like I can definitely see my lineart improving as the months go on. I also started working more with color, my eternal nemesis, and I'm hoping next year I can really start to nail down a style. I did Art Fight for the first time ever in July and it ROCKED, definitely going to do it again this year and I'm still pretty proud of the drawings I did. I love an event where it's socially acceptable for me to draw people's OCs. I think I'll probably focus on doing more WoW OCs this year. Unfortunately July is the busiest month for me at work, where I'm waking up at 5AM for basically the entire month straight and working in 100+ degree weather, so we'll see if I can maintain the energy for it.

And now the heavy stuff. Some of you might know that I'm pretty involved in the secret finding community in WoW, and back during BFA when we spent 11.5 months trying to find Jenafur, I did paint-overs of a bunch of cat memes to try and keep spirits up during the hunt. Unfortunately, the Make-A-Wish kid who created the pet ended up passing away in April. You can read about her life here in this article that will make you want to guillotine a chemical executive, and this older interview from 2020 about the secret. But what really got to me was this one line from the PCGames interview:

And like, I don't want to be presumptuous but like. I think she was talking about my art. Every time I posted on she'd comment on it, and she even DMed me about them. This line fucking destroyed me. I'm not even going to exaggerate. For several days after we found out about her death I was a wreck. The thought that my silly little drawings actually had an impact on someone and made their life a little brighter just ruined me. The bill she was fighting for ended up passing, and I hope that someday the idea of 'forever chemicals' will cease to exist.

hey, i'm an artist (or so i'm pretending to be) and i absolutely ADORE your art style and the way you draw so beautifully. What are some tips or what is some advice you could give me on anatomy, use of color or digital drawing generally? I've posted my art like once but I was so nervous of what people might think of it I made something super different to my actual style, so if you scroll on my page don't find it because i hate it lmao

Hi!!! First of all, thank you so much for your sweet comment it means so much to hear that 🥺

So my bIGGEST TIPS I can possibly give (this is gonna be long I apologize in advance):

1. always always always use references.

I cannot stress this tip enough.

Whether it‘s for a certain pose you want to draw: you can go on Pinterest/google to find poses, clothing ideas, hairstyles, lighting, scenery. use references for EVERYTHING. no matter what people say it is not cheating. Sometimes we luck out and we magically draw the poses straight from our brain, but honestly that’s rare.

And it doesnt all have to be from real life. You can take inspiration from other artist whose styles you look up to/admire. For me that’s viria94(Instagram), aleikats, alexiakhodanian(twitter), spidertams(instagram) and many others! Obviously you don’t want to copy your inspirations, but you can learn so much from just observing their artwork :) Your inspirations will most likely change dramatically overtime because your art style will grow as you continue to improve. These inspirations are going to be a mashup of things you like about each individual style. And eventually, you’ll learn how to incorporate some of those elements into your own art which in turn: helps you find your own voice/style with your artwork.

but also, don’t forget to not copy them exactly lol. It’s one thing to “copy” an art style as a way to personally practice in your own time (which is totally okay to do!) But there is definitely a fine line between practicing/outright copying and claiming it as your own work. I hope that made sense???

2. Redraws

this is something I only just started doing, but it has helped my artwork improve immensely. I redraw scenes from shows and movies that I love (which I will get to this tip in a second). And then because the scene is already set for you, it helps you not only practice anatomy (especially if you’re referencing real people), but also lighting, setting up compositions, and in general practicing this over time will help you refine your art style!

3. Draw from life

Not everyone has a realistic art style, nor do they need to have one. However, it is important to understand the ”rules” before you can break them. And what I mean by that is that by practicing realistic anatomy, you get to understand proportions/how the body works in relation to itself. Because even though everyone is shaped differently from each other, there is still an overall similarity we all have with one another. And honestly all you have to do will go into my next point:

4. watch tutorials

Cannot even tell you how many tutorials I have watched over the years. I will forever be on YouTube trying to learn how to do something. this honestly goes with the references section because it just helps so so so much. Having someone show you exactly what to do is so beneficial because they’ll move you through the exact motions you need to do to get to the end result. I remember when I first started really getting into art, I loved drawing realistic eyes and lips. so I watched tutorials of that all the time and now it’s pretty much second nature to me.

since you asked about the use of color, anatomy, and digital drawing… this is gonna be golden for helping you okay. I might have taken a color theory class a couple quarters ago at school… but trust me I’m still winging the whole color thing. howEVER, tutorials will be your best friend when it comes to these things I pROMISE.

5. TAKE BREAKS

please for the love of all things do not push yourself to be creative when your mind refuses to do so. some of our best work/ideas appear when we’re bored or doing something else entirely.

taking a break means go do something else you enjoy. For me that’s: playing my favorite video game, watching my favorite show/movie, reading a book, talking to my friends or family, baking, writing. just do something else!

the moment you try to force yourself to finish a drawing when you’re really not in the mindset to do so (unless this thing you’re drawing is for school… that’s an entirely different thing trust me lol), you’re just going to lead yourself into an art block. So many artists pressure themselves to draw everyday because yeah it can lead to improvement, but back in my anne with an e days when I felt pressured to put out fan art consistently for the show, it led me to what was probably my longest art block EVER. and it sucks because I ender up losing the inspiration to draw for a show that I loved a lot. So always remember to pace yourself and take care of yourself before anything else <3

6. Draw what you love

so often we feel pressured to draw what others want us to draw. But that shouldn’t matter. yes, it’s good to be aware of the people that may look at your art/follow your art account, but that should never dictate the work that you create.

for some people they love drawing original characters and creating stories, others might only love drawing animals, some people have certain themes in their artwork, and others, like me, purely like drawing fan art.

when you draw something you love, your artwork will always turn out better because that means you’re having fun making it.

and for me personally, I cannot whip out original characters for the life of me unless it’s for a grade LOL. So when it comes to drawing, that’s why I stick to fan art.

mARTch, Week 1: Meet the Artist, Day 3: Inspirations

Okay, today's gonna be a text-post because I'm not sure how to format it in an art piece.

If you hadn't noticed, I'm very much into both Undertale and Your Boyfriend (I've said it before and I'll say it again, Minors DNI with the fandom and/or game, it's strictly 18+ with its NSFW and horror themes. Don't care if you "can handle it," just. Don't, thanks, for your own good).

Like, a lot. Undertale's been my ultimate hyperfixation since I was 13; about a year after it was released, in fact, so I've seen a lot of the fandom's growth, decline, then growth again when Deltarune was released. Your Boyfriend is understandably newer (I only turned 18 last October, and couldn't interact with the fandom when I first found it because I was a month early, but I miraculously remembered when the time came), and, heck, it could fade at any point. But both media have helped with my artstyle a ton.

I'll talk about Undertale's influences on my art first, since it came first.

I first found Undertale through Aphmau back in the Summer of 2016 (yawn, Aphmau, I know, I was that kid), but it wasn't until the end of the year where it properly kicked off. I watched a couple lets plays after remembering it in passing, and I was hooked. Undertale's the reason I wanted to draw digitally, mostly for the spriting aspect. It also affected my art in a non-visual way; its writing and plot has honestly encouraged me to pick up a pen or pencil and just write the most out of anything. I wanted to make a game because of Undertale, a project that I admittedly made no progress on, but I often find myself blowing the cobwebs off of it and updating with new lore and the like every so often.

Then, I found the fandom, which is admittedly the biggest part of why I've stayed so long.

I was a sans fangirl. I'll hold my hands up and say it without a lick of shame, because I was a dumb obsessive kid (who admittedly turned into a dumb obsessive adult, but at least I'm now self aware lmao). I will say I wasn't as bad as a large majority of the others at the time (I didn't understand the infighting because, cmon, guys, it's a fictional character, you can't claim ownership over him...I wonder if this was an early sign of my polyamory but probably not lmao), but it was...Something that happened.

That honestly didn't last long because after that I found the AUs and, yeah, I simped over Ink and Error for a while (albeit a very fanon version of them but it was 2017, everyone wrote them like that), realised they were cute together and voila, Sans x Sans shipping happened. I mention this not because it's a curse I can't rid of myself (which it is, don't get me wrong, but it's an enjoyable one), but it's crucial because:

As soon as I found Errink, almost immediately after I found TheGreatRogue. Yeah, that Rogue.

Their artstyle, and I hate to say it, completely shaped my own, even if it was Very Bad in comparison. This was before NaJ AU was a thing and a lot of their problematic content was a thing, but it was around the time Vampverse was being conceptualised iirc??

Basically, I slowly amalgamated Rogue's art style into my own.

Then it evolved into other creators' art styles being mimicked in my own. Tiny_Inky_Sans on Instagram and Comyet come to mind, the latter being especially influential when Ink's redesign came about. And I guess over time it's evolved into my own thing?

And, ok, it's important to note that I'm a huge anime fan (this is important!), because that used to influence my style a lot. Heck, it probably still does, hair wise. But I used to draw human characters with HUGE anime/manga eyes. Hell, have an example from last year!

It's not terrible, but it's not the best either. There's worse of mine out there.

But here's where Your Boyfriend comes into play.

So, here's the scene. It's August. I'd just finished Yoosung's route on Mystic Messenger earlier in the week and, because I don't have enough of the in game currency to do his post-game story, I feel kinda empty inside. I'd play Pokemon but I'd just end up beating the League again and feeling worse, because I hate when I finish a piece of media I enjoy. So, I go onto YouTube, hopefully to watch some old Vine compilation.

That's when I stumble upon ManlyBadassHero's latest upload: a playthrough of the first Day of some dating game, which probably has horror elements because that's MBH's thing idk. Bored, with nothing else to do, I decide to check it out, because the name of the game rings a bell (I accidentally reblogged a piece of art to Mul71v3r53 earlier in the year without knowing what it was).

And oh boy.

I was hooked again.

I checked some stuff out online after the video was over, and to my dismay it's strictly 18+. That was understandable, it's obvious from the get go that the antagonist is creepy. So I waited a couple months, hoping my memory would be ok, and surprisingly it was for once.

And so, I did more digging into the fandom and the rest is history.

As I said yesterday, it did inadvertently remove ears from all my drawings, but ears are overrated (floating earrings are funny to draw lmao)

Physically speaking Dell really likes that you're shorter than him. He also really likes your freckles and thinks rainbow would be absolutely gorgeous on you!! You also give off really wholesome vibes which attracts the hell out of Dell tbh. Loves your art, no questions asked. Also, you're an animal lover?? So is he!! He has such a soft spot for cats. I’ve got a real love-hate relationship with SU, but the main premise with the lore - an alien race of magical Gems - was always interesting to me. I should get this out of the gate, if you’re someone who doesn’t like SU criticism or hole-poking, we probably won’t gel! I really wanna get into the nitty gritty of gem life and that includes the political implications of giant colonizing space tyrants. Don’t get me wrong, I love the series, but I love overanalyzing stuff more, lol.

In terms of settings, I’m open to anything! Just before/on the onset of the Rebellion era or just during it, post-canon on Little Homeworld and dealing with following up on loose ends (c'mon, not everybody is going to be down with just turning a complete 180 on an authoritarian empire), or even writing a canon divergence with our own cast in the shoes of the canon characters.

Or something separate from canon entirely! Maybe the war goes differently. Maybe Rose was just a Rose Quartz and not PD at all. Maybe we have our own half-gem dealing with all this - or just a regular human who got swept along for the ride. We can take as much liberty as we want - the bottom line is I’m really into character arcs and world-building, so I’m bound to go all-out no matter what the case is, lmao.

I’m looking for someone who:

… is 18+. I’m down for writing smut and equally as down for fading to black, my main thing is I just want to write with fellow adults. Open to dark themes (especially during Rebellion era - I mean, it IS war) but we’ll have to discuss specifics.

👌(pt 2) can't concentrate very well, but I love reading mystery and psychological horror books! Basically anything that has a great twist and that can keep my mind going. I love watching shows as well, I can binge them withing a week. I'm really interested in psychology and neuropsychiatry, so I read articles, watch videos, and take online courses about them (which I don't finish bcs of other responsibilities dkjdjcls). As for my personality, it's everywhere. When I first meet someone-- 👌(pt 3) I'm told I can look really calculating and radiate an intelligent aura. People have even commented on my speech pattern saying it sounds really formal. When I get to know someone, however, I'm louder, more affectionate, and become more of a jokester. My friends have old me that they were surprised with my 180 degree flip in personality lmao. Although I joke around a lot, I'm still perceived as the mom friend of my group. My friends go to me whenever they seek comfort, I've been told-- 👌(pt 4) my voice is very calming and that I give good advice. I'd, though, have a hard time opening up to people, even though we've become really close. I'm really good at controlling how I react to things, so it's never really obvious when I feel something negative. I'll need to establish a close emotional bond before saying anything about myself other than my surface level. I have concentration problems as well, so even though I truly want to be productive, I somehow can't. I really like-- 👌 (last) learning different languages though, because I find them really interesting,especially how they are interraleted. I have also taken up a diverse set of physical activities throughout the years such as aikido, archery, parkour, swimming, muay thai, and knife throwing, so I've retained some skills from each of them just in case I'd have to use them to protect my loved ones. come to think of that; the two of you rarely have any conflicts, Simeon is a pacifist at heart so if it’s up to him there’s never going to be conflicts. however he would greatly encourage you to dare to open up to more people because you’re lovely! the one thing that he wouldn’t like is you keeping negative emotions to yourself - honest communication is really important and he wants the relationship and you to be healthy, and keeping to yourself is exactly the opposite. But it’s not something that cannot be worked on so on the bigger picture it’s fine. just trust him!

Hey, I've been a silent fan for quite a while, I think your style is beautiful:) I love to draw, but its not any good or I can't find the motivation to unless I'm high. And I'm both out of drugs and on probation, so that's a no, and I wondered if you have any advice? I miss drawing but can't seem to make myself

thanks! I can really relate lol, art blocks suck, but there are a lot of ways to make them go away, lots of people have this problem so I’ll make a long post hjfkjdk

Some common advice that many art teachers have given me and stuff that I do that you can try:

Try drawing with your wrong hand for a while, it will remove your need to perform well and it will relax you

Clean your work space, its almost never good to work in a messy work space it distracts you. Just in general you need a good place to create art, dont do it in a stressful environment.

Step out of your comfort zone and draw something you’ve never drawn before. Like for example if you’re used to just drawing cute anime girls or whatever try drawing something very different, draw a fancy car, draw a creepy forest, draw something hard and or weird, it doesn’t have to turn out good its just to refresh your brain 

Go outside. Sometimes I just put down my tablet and go outside at like 5 am, maybe bring a sketch book and draw stuff you see, or dont, just taking a walk will help you

try just messing around with watercolors for a while, dont try to paint anything specific just play around with the colors

Also here are some fun things you can try out

Try following a Bob Ross tutorial, you dont even need to use paint it works to do it digitally, its a lot of fun

Try drawing in a very different style, maybe copy some famous style like marvel comics or a kids cartoon, maybe you’ll find something new to add to your personal style

Draw a map of your own made up place, draw lakes and roads and stuff, make up names, maybe even write a story or lore about it

Try out a palette challenge, just google and you’ll find lots of fun color palettes to use. And if you’re worried people wont send you requests just decide for yourself.

If you haven’t before, try making pixel art

In the end you cant make art every single day so dont feel bad. However if you are an aspiring artist its quite important to draw frequently. I sometimes take a break and dont draw anything for 2 days but its almost never a longer break than that.

If you feel you enjoy making art and you want to but still cant do it then you’re probably just in need of change, switch things up both physically and mentally, also dont rely on weed lmao, its helpful sometimes but you are 100% capable of coming up with cool ideas on your own, good luck!
