You know Sherlock theoretically you could revisit College and major in medicine and become a doctor. Lord knows your smart enough for it.

I could do an endless list of things theoretically. But would it be worth it just to get access to drugs? Maybe. Although I can get them with much easier methods than doing a whole medical degree. Although it can't be that difficult anyway, given the fact I already have an excessive medical and scientifical knowledge, and that John also did it. But Dr. Sherlock Holmes does have a nice ring to it. And then if anyone accuses me of having an addiction I can just say 'No, I am a doctor and I can diagnose myself'

This is a new Sherlock Holmes rp blog, though more for the controversial ship of Johnlockary. It is a uni au so they’re all late teens, early twenties. The other characters ages fall in place with being younger as well. The boys share a place at baker street where Mary spends most of her time with them though she has a dorm too but who wants to be there when they don’t have to be? Follow their strange story and adventures through life.

someone called me 'a transphobic pig' for sending a trans sherlock starter? it wasn't about pregnancy, it wasn't really fetishistic at all (that i saw). it was a pretty normal unilock starter and I just put [trans man] at the end. any insight on this? i was originally offended but I figured perhaps i should check myself...

Firstly, it’s great that you’re open to self criticism. It can be quite disheartening to be called out for something on omegle, and it’s easy to become defensive and dismiss valid criticism as hate.

But... I fail to see how having a trans character makes you in any way transphobic! Having Sherlock as a trans male is a perfectly valid headcanon; it remains a queer relationship, so you aren’t introducing cishet dynamics in a queer-safe space. You aren’t posting femlock outside the appropriate tags. You aren’t throwing pregnancy around irresponsibly. You aren’t- as far as you can tell- fetishising trans people. 

Well. You say it wasn’t “really” fetishistic- as a trans person, I know that people can be fascinated, morbidly, by the sex lives of trans people. There is a fine line between portraying a healthy sex life that happens to coincide with a trans identity, and between a sex life that revolves around a trans identity. Providing you know and appreciate the difference, there should be no problem! Trans people can be sexually active too, and you’re allowed to explore that!

There should be no problem. I’m sorry you had that experience, but thank you for stepping back to examine the situation calmly. You’re a part of our community and perfectly at liberty to post whatever you like in the appropriate tags. Keep doing you!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sadly I haven’t read as many historical fics as I would have liked to, unless you count the TAB/Victorian AUs I’ve read, LOL. I’ll give you most that I have personally read (I omitted the majority of the Victorian AUs I’ve read, please check out the link in the See Also section), AS WELL AS stuff on my offline MFL list, and please do check out the “see also” lists for others that people have added, and hopefully some lovelies will add their own fics for us!

Werewolf/Omegaverse AU: Werelock-Sherlock is an Omega werewolf, John starts out not infected but at some point he is turned (maybe by Moriarty?) and becomes an Alpha were…eventual Johnlock.

Eurus shot John with an actual gun in TLD, and killed him. Any appearance by John afterwards is as a ghost. And only Sherlock can see him. If you can work in some of the plot of TFP around that, kudos. If you want to go in a different direction, that’s fine too. I especially envision that scene from TFP trailer where John is standing over a devastated Sherlock and saying ‘i know this is difficult, but you have got to keep it together’. Imagine ghost!John saying that to Sherlock.

Holmes only survived Reichenbach instead of drowning along with Moriarty because he’d once saved one of the Fae folk and so they ‘owed him’, so rescued him (whether he called on them or they did it on their own is up to the author).  Now Holmes is doing the ‘tracking down Moriarty’s minions’ thing, not intending to ever go back and endanger Watson (or suffer with what he believes will be unrequited love), even once he’s done.  His fae 'friend’ actually likes Holmes, as much as the Fae can like any human, and although they’ve technically 'paid their debt’ they keep trying to 'help’ him.  All the while hinting/manipulating/matchmaking like mad to make him realize he’s not going to be happy unless and until he goes back to his Watson (who is mourning/pining his arse off back in London). It would be fun to see Holmes resist every step of the way and his Fae accomplice perhaps unable to speak plainly and just say ’he loves you, ya doofus, go home!’, but has to be indirect and hinty about it all, but Happy Ending, of course.

What tags are active like at all on Omegle, even outside of rp tags for the Sherlock fandom? I've looked up tags that were fairly active when the show was still running and now I don't connect with anyone on them. Which tags do you think are the absolute most active on Omegle, even non-Sherlock ones?

That’s a good question! And unfortunately, it’s not very easy to answer. 

When talking purely ships within the Sherlock tag, we know there is varying activity in Johnlock, Sherstrade, Mystrade, Viclock, Sherlolly, Holmescest (beware that this is a ‘cest’ ship), Jimlock/Sheriarty, Seblock, Morbrook, Johniarty, Johnbastian, Moliarty, and… Mormor. 

I single out Mormor as I’d estimate that 95% of our content comes from people in the Mormor tag. Anyway! This list is not comprehensive, and we will be making a list of ships, active or not, in the near future. 

If we’re talking about extension tags to compliment the ship, we’ve got a lot of activity! Teenlock, Unilock, Parentlock, Omegalock, Femlock, Angstlock, Darklock, etc. Try mixing and matching your tags to find a combination that works for you.

If you’re looking purely for discussion, try just ‘Sherlock’ or character names.

Outside the Sherlock community, my knowledge has a lot of gaps. I’m not sure where to direct you, but I do know that there are a lot of active role players in tags like Supernatural, Marvel, Harry Potter, Teen Wolf, Homestuck, and every Anime you could think of. The best way to find an active tag is to throw yourself in and be patient. You can also check tags on tumblr like “___ rp” to see if there are any logs up there. 

Finally, it’s a good idea to try on different days at different times. There are ‘peak’ hours for roleplaying! Some tags will be dead on a Wednesday morning, but alive on a Saturday night. Timezones influence activity too- it’s all trial and error.
