⛩🎎 During our tour through Japan we made a stop in the historical-idyllic city of Kurashiki (Japanese 倉敷市, -shi). The Edo-era merchant town is located in Okayama prefecture and the former Bitchū province of Honshu, the main island of Japan. Kurashiki means something like “village from warehouses”. There are still dozens of buildings (Kura) preserved, which represent a symbol of the city due to their typical facades. It’s worth a visit. The last week, I had to be in Frankfurt for a family business. To move faster in the city, I used the complex train/metro system the place offers and crossed this beautiful station full of animal illustrations and tile decorations according to the zone.

This could be one example of how to transform a boring metro station into an interesting visual landmark. The navigator can know the destination is going to visit.

Also, the graphics are soft and colourful, making them attractive for their target audience, families or kids. That can help to get in the vibe of going to a zoo.
