Well it depends on the kind of game you like, but if you like indie game you should definetly try Everybody's gone to the rapture, of What remains of Edith Finch. I LOVED these two.

If you enjoy playing horror games, i can recommand Resident Evil. RE8 Village is my safe place, but i love them all.

I enjoyed playing The Quarry even if it was a bit... meh in my opinion, and I like the new Alone in the dark which was released recently.

Also Im a SLUT for the AC franchise, my favorites are AC2, Black Flag, Origins, and Odyssey.

More masterpieces that i love with my whole heart : RDR2, Plague Tale (1&2), The Witcher, Mass Effect, Ori and the Blind Forest (the soundtrack is breathtaking)

If you like brain-teasers you should definetly try Return of the Obra Dinn, or Chants of Sennaar.

And I could keep going like this for hOURS, I play VG all the time but i think you'll have enough with all these!

3. A game that holds a special place in your heart

I'm going to go withhhhh Sims 2? I've played it religiously for over a decade now and it's still sooo important to me I spent a lot of rough times getting by with that game and a lot of good times celebrating with it.

14. A memorable gaming momwnt

In terms of moments I caused I talk about this a lot but it's absolutely Garrus' recruitment mission in mass effect 2. I'd been intimidated by the new vanguard abilities until this point and also am just not very good at games. But when this krogan was between me and Garrus and headed for him I got fucking possessed, immediately used charge to go straight across the room basically face to face with an enemy that had destroyed me consistently in mass effect 1 and proceeded to wreck shop so hard Garrus took 0 damage. Do not fuck with my mass effect companions I WILL learn to game to protect them.

In terms of moments that happened to me not a nice one but I remember soap dying in mw3 so vividly because of the sheer scale of the autism anger issues tantrum that followed. It's really hard to forget the only thing stopping me from snapping the disc in half and trying to eat it was that it was my dad's property and I guess the sheer future terror awaiting me if I did it clicked in my brain.

1 - Favorite video game? I think the title of my favorite video game ever has to go to Portal 2 (and Portal). I really enjoy so much of the mechanics, design, characters, what have you. I've replayed it a bunch of times and love watching people explore it for the first time. Other honorable mentions go to Pokemon Arceus, Unpacking, Year Walk, Oxenfree, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Mass Effect 2. 4 - Favorite video game character? This one's really hard tbh! I'm actually not quite sure. I have so many I really like, but I don't know if I have a Favorite Favorite. I think I'll say Chell from Portal to go with the answer above. Other favs include Aloy, Lara Croft, Ana Amari, Cassandra Pentaghast and Merrill, and also Agent 14 from GTA Online

24 - Hardest boss fight you’ve been in? The Serebaas in Trespasser for sure. I was playing on Nightmare at the time and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get the last few points of health chipped away. I eventually had to knock down the difficulty and beat it that way.

30 - Why do you game? Honestly for me it's a big part a social aspect. I play a lot of games with online features, like GTA and Minecraft and Stardew Valley, that let me hang out with my friends and fool around. I have more hours in games like those than I do in campaign based ones.

Fair Footing: The Significance of When Team Sheets Are Exchanged and the Flaws With the Current Rules in Place

There I sat across from my opponent, both of us still x-2 late into the first day of play at Portland’s VGC Regionals. They seem like a quiet sort; nothing I couldn’t relate to, really. One more loss and either of us lost our chance to make Day 2, so pressure was mounting.

Power: on; Union Circle: made; Team 1: selected.

“Do you mind if we swap sheets right before Team Preview, and not during,” I inquired. “That way, we can both take a minute to read sheets without timer.”

“No, let’s exchange at Team Preview.”

“Trying to read, write, and select Pokémon in Preview is chaos. We don’t lose anything by doing a swap beforehand.” I was familiar enough with the rules document that outlined this that I knew I had a case to be made.

“We’ll do it in Team Preview. That’s how it’s done,” a few players to our side agreeing; “That’s what everyone thinks.”

“I’m not exchanging it at Preview.”

Shaking their head, “Let’s get a judge.”

We found a judge that happened to be a judge nearby, thankfully. I made certain to explain the situation first, before I could be cut off, with the aim of making sure they knew: reading, writing, and selecting all in a short window is, as I told my opponent, utter chaos. There’s no logical reason for why we can’t do the swap sooner.

“It’s done at Team Preview, that’s correct.”

No stated opportunity to appeal on the spot. Seemingly no understanding from the judge whatsoever despite the official rules document giving what I thought was a clear order of operations. The judge leaves; my A button doesn’t respond to my input immediately, making it seem like I’m blowing off the judgment, and; my 0-2 loss for x-3 isn’t even at the forefront of my mind. I have never been angrier at an event since I started attending these on Nov. 13th, 2011.

Per section 3.3 of the Play! Pokemon VG Rules and Formats:

“

At the start of a match, players sit down across from their opponent and swap team lists, which can be reviewed and referenced at any point throughout the match. If either player does not understand their opponent’s team list, they should call a staff member immediately at this time. While waiting for the round start announcements, appropriate preparations should be made, such as docking consoles into provided stands (where applicable) and agreeing upon a Link Code.

. . .

One thing needs to be made clear before continuing: “It’s what everyone thinks” is not a valid way to handle issues such as these; this is a textbook example of the bandwagon fallacy, and as such, it must be put to bed if we are to properly analyze the issues present with the stated rules.

So, how do we define a “match”? How do we define when a “match” begins? Were these steps ordered like this intentionally within the space of that paragraph? This wording is open to vague interpretation, is worded as if it might suggest an order of operations, and will irrevocably disadvantage players who were already disadvantaged. When I say “disadvantaged” I mean the player down the line a few seats from you with a reading disorder. I’m referring to those, like myself, who almost need a sense of structure with procedural events. I’m referring to a whole slew of people in this community that would not fare well under needing to do so much in only the minute and a half we’re given in Preview. Current mass interpretation of the rules will see to it that enough of those players are effectively barred from reaching a Day 2 or Top Cut scenario in a community that prides itself on inclusion. Though unintentional, the current interpretation of these rules teeters perilously on violating the Play! Pokémon Inclusion Policy:

“

Our aim is to build a culture and community that actively promote learning, openness, fairness, diversity, equity, inclusion, and general good sporting behavior. All members of the Play! Pokémon community—players, fans, parents, Professors, organizers, and attendees in the Play! Pokémon program—have a role in making this a reality.

Pokémon, its agents, sanctioned persons, and entities will not take part in or tolerate discrimination, victimization, harassment, or bullying of any kind on the grounds of:

Age

Disability

Gender identity or affirmation/transition/ expression

Marital or civil partnership status

Pregnancy or maternity

Race, color, nationality, or ethnic or national origin

Religion, belief, or lack thereof

Sexual orientation

Socioeconomic status

Education

Citizenship status

Political affiliation

An immediate solution people might flock to involves simply changing the mindsets of players and judges en masse regarding how the rule is handled because the rule is vague. This would stand a slim chance. For one, it runs the risk of division within the community, and for two, judges need to have defined guidelines for how to handle disagreements like the one I encountered on Day 1. That second step is crucial: A community split on the matter would effectively make one of contemporary VGC’s most important rules moot in most circumstances before the start of a battle, worsening the lack of clarity among judges that exists now: I spoke with a few different judges about that entire situation after it happened; one of whom who’d had this debate with another Worlds-level judge, and another who was quite experienced (who I can’t describe well without practically stating a name). Both of them understood the logic I presented, both of them had spoken to plenty of other judges. Ultimately, there is plenty of confusion.

I’m not advocating for the swapping of Sheets once players sit down, before they’re fully setup, as that can still lead to one-sided advantages all the same. I am, however, advocating for the following:

More defined verbiage.

Not only a clearer statement on when to exchange Team Sheets, but a different timing altogether.

When I say “different timing”, I mean to suggest “after the round announcement and before Team Preview is entered” as a point to start with, giving players at least one minute from Sheet swapping to read them over (and applying slowplay rules when necessary).

“Hey want to exchange sheets?”

“Sure, I need to get my controller adapter and controller out, first,” pulling forth a silver GameCube controller from their bag.

“Yeah, you good.”

Such a rule would avoid anyone from gaining extra reading time while a player was setting up, and; leave the timing of the exchange in the hands of players while still outlining specifics on when an exchange needs to happen. There are likely other ways to handle the matter; most of them better than what we have presently.

idk, everytime ppl talk abt garrus's racism there's always some talk about how he grew from it, so it's okay now and besides the fact that it's just blatantly not true, it's just genuinely not a take i'm interested in seeing bc that's not how it works lol

racism is not just a character flaw, it's not some quirky mistake and you can't put it on the same level as the mistakes other characters make and then grow from. you can't equate things like jack's aggressiveness with garrus condoning sterilization, viewing an entire species as inherently savage, and saying things to tali that i have had said to me verbatim by neo nazis as a romani woman

you're not obligated to interact with garrus being racist. it wasn't well written at all, and if you want to say fuck it and write it out, that's fine by me! it's what i personally do. but i really do need y'all to understand that if you do choose to have your garrus hold these views, only to defend or excuse them, it's deeply fucking insulting and ignorant at absolute best and at worst racist. y'all just really need to change the way you go about discussing racism within the games and how you personally interact with the presence of racism, because i'm tired of this kind of shit
