For those who keep up with the IDW G5 My Little Pony comics, a familiar pony was seen in yesterday's My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale episode! 

Violette Rainbow is a filly who was introduced in issue 14 of the IDW G5 MLP comics and appeared in the one-shot comic My Little Pony: Black, White, & Blue.  Both comics were written by Tee Franklin, and Violette was initially designed by Shauna Grant.  

She received her first animated appearance in the My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale episode "Icy Prints." It is also the first time a character made for the comics has appeared in any official animated media!

Hopefully Violette's appearance opens the door for more comic characters to appear in animated media also.

Violette Rainbow in Tell Your Tale!! It’s really cool they managed to get a character from the comics into the series! Looking forward to hearing a few lines from her and seeing who voices her!

Hope we see more ponies from the comics! Cherry from the Bridlewoodstock comic would be really cool to see. Well we’ve got 48 episodes and four specials this year. Maybe they will show up at some point.

Two preview pages for the IDW comic My Little Pony: Black, White & Blue have been uploaded by Apple Books.

This will be the first IDW comic to feature Misty; the events of the comic take place before My Little Pony: Make Your Mark Chapter 4.

The comic will be released on October 18, 2023.

(The release was originally to be on October 11 but has been delayed by one week, presumably to avoid conflicting with the release dates of other MLP comics.)

Synopsis: "Sorry, everypony, it seems our printer ran out of pink, purple, yellow, green, red—uh, well, all the colors except black, white, and blue! What to do with all this blue? Hmm... OH! Drumroll please...In Misty’s first comic appearance, everypony���s favorite blue pony is in Maretime Bay for a sleepover with the Mane 5! But when everypony wakes up...all the color is gone! It kinda looks like Violette and Skye’s favorite old TV show, Betwitched—at least the years it was in black and white—but everypony can still see blue for some reason. Determined to make the best of a gloomy situation, Vi and Skye put together a plan to spread cheer. Meanwhile, Izzy helps the distraught Misty see the beauty in messy situations using the power of unicycling! Join us for a magical one-shot of color calamity before returning to your regularly scheduled programs."
