The small trailer was a mess, half-eaten snacks and empty solo cups scattered around every flat surface. But you hummed happily as you cleaned, unbothered by the vast amount of work you had to do in order to get the place looking half decent again. 

As you walked by the lump on the ratty couch, you bent down and gave it a kiss, receiving a tired grumble in reply as it shifted in its sleep. You couldn’t fault Eddie though, you knew how tired he was after a full week of celebrations. He had, after all, finally graduated high school and with straight B’s at that! 

You were so proud of your boyfriend and so, you were more than happy to take care of the clean-up of the massive party his friends threw him, even if your back aches and your arms are sore from scrubbing. “Baby?” Eddie’s voice was thick with sleep, the syllables slurring together.

“Oh love, I didn’t mean to wake you up.” He shook his head as he sat up, his wild curls flying in a million different directions. He rubbed his eyes with the butt of his hands as if trying to wipe away the exhaustion that still lingered. 

“Didn’t wake me up.” He groaned, holding out his arms for you. Rolling your eyes, you dropped the rag you were using into the small laundry pile in the corner before joining your boyfriend on the couch. Eddie grunted happily as you sat between his open thighs so your chest could rest against his own. His hands, warmed from sleep, settled on your wide hips underneath your oversized sweatshirt.

“Had a weird dream.” There was a flash of black as he let his head fall to the crook of your neck. You didn’t hesitate to wrap yourself around his brand shoulders, letting your hands tangle in his hair just the way he liked. 

“Good weird or bad weird?” You asked against his scalp. He sighed against your skin.

“Just weird.” And you thought that was that but Eddie began to speak again, his voice soft with anxiety. “You were there and-and we were in the trailer but it was bigger and a little newer. You were cooking breakfast-“

“That’s nothing new.” You scoffed and in retaliation, your precious boyfriend bit your collarbone. 

“‘M not done yet so don’t interrupt. You were cooking breakfast and I was standing behind you and my hands were on your stomach. You were pregnant, I could feel him kicking. And then, there was this little voice from behind us I turned around and there she was-“ He swallowed thickly, “She looked just like me but she had your eyes. And she was just standing there with this cute little pout complaining about how I was cuddling you and not her. It all felt so real.”

“That sounds like a good dream Eddie.” You murmured as you ran your fingers up and down his back. He muttered something that you didn’t quite catch. “What was that babe?”

With slow movements, he pulled away from you, revealing the tears that gathered in his big brown eyes. “I don’t want it to be a dream, I want a family with you.” 

“Oh baby.” You cooed and forced him back into your embrace as his tears began to fall. He held you tightly as if scared you would run away from him for exposing his deepest thoughts. “I want that too, one day maybe after I finish college though.”

“Really?” He asked with a disbelieving tone, “But I can’t give you a big house like Harrington, we’ll be stuck in this stupid fucking trailer park, working our asses off for nothing. That’s not the life you deserve, it’s not what they deserve.” A large palm came to rest on your lower stomach as if you were already crying his babies.

You cupped the back of his hand, intertwining your fingers but not pulling him away. “Edward Munson, you listen to me when I say this: I don’t need any of that crap, I just need you. You are my home, you always have been and all of that other stuff is just that, stuff. No matter what the future brings, we’ll always have each other and that’s more than enough for me.” 

You can feel his smile as he finally relaxes into you. “I would just ask one thing baby.”

“Anything.” He replies, his lips now pressing sweet kisses to your skin.

“Dustin can’t be godfather.” Eddie chuckled.

You giggled as he flipped you over and pinned you to the couch, a wide smile now spread across his pink lip. “Perfect but it can’t be Harrington either. So now that we’ve got that sorted, when can we start on that dream of mine?”
