CR asks: 1 & 17 if you're feeling spicy; if you're not, 9, 14, 25, 39 (feel free to pick & choose)
i took so long to do this because i had all the questions answered and then tumblr crashed and deleted it all :( but here we go (also thank u for the ask!!!)
9- Location in Exandria you'd like to see in a possibly canonical one-shot/EXU but with non-main campaign characters (as in Song of the Lorelei/The Darrington Brigade)
vasselheim!!! i doubt it will be a major location again for a full campaign because it was featured so heavily in c1 but an exu type deal could be so cool!!! i thought that vasselheim was SO underutilized in c1. when i was first watching it i was Big Sad that the no arcane magic thing was played for laughs, you could easily center a whole campaign around that idea. i wanted to see more of it during c1 and obvs after exu calamity i want to see more of it Even More. theres just so much to learn about it after the context of exu calamity. like i want inside information about the political system. i want to explore how decisions get made there. and like bro do u want a story about Hubris??? oh yeah??? you like critical role so are you perhaps a Hubris Enjoyer??? perhaps of the Magic User Variety?? imagine a wizard or a warlock trying to hide their magic in vasselheim. it basically writes itself. imagine a high-ranking cleric as a pc. or a noble. based on what's happening in c3 do you think they have like. an Old Secrets Protection Board? and perhaps some Scholar Spies trying to break in? idk man there's so much you can do there and i would like to See It Please Thank You
14-Describe the art you would most like to create or commission if talent/money were no object.
i have like 7 animatics in my head that i am not talented enough to make but honestly. this whole jester-focused animatic set to folding chair by regina spektor. it’s really good in my head i swear. also a post c1 animatic set to dodie's cover of blackbird which has been in my head since i finished c1 god i have actual brainworms
25-What class do you most want to see Matt play if he is in a future EXU campaign as a new (not Dariax) PC?
artificer. primarily bc as much as i love him, matt’s pcs tend not to be my kind of character. at least in cr oneshots he’s got a thing for the Generic Edgy Protagonist Boy type which i’m sorry buddy but like. no thanks. and based on artificer/engineer type npcs he’s played i doubt he will go for that archetype as a pc. matt loves some Insane Scientists and so do i, easy S tier character trope, so whether he plays it straight or goes for the more unhinged type like most of his npcs im down 100%. also i had a whole rant here abt how much i love dariax and i hope that matt continues to step out of his comfort zone for pcs because for me personally i think it works really well!!
39- favorite parental figure NPC?
I HAD A WHOLE RANT HERE ABT HOW MUCH I LOVE MARION LIKE I THINK I WROTE LIKE 300 WORDS. the gist of it was how i love that she is very much an imperfect parent which we can see in jester now, but she’s still a good parent!! she’s still trying!!! she’s got her own trauma but she’s trying!!! idk that is v important to me. also i love how she is a sex worker and is not shamed for it at all. and that she has agoraphobia (sp?) and its treated as like!!! fine and not irrational at all!!! idk man idk how matt and laura did such a good job with such a respectful and grounded portrayal of a character like marion but they DID also parent trap ftw
spicy answers under cut, just keep scrolling if u dont want to see my mildly lukewarm takes. thank u.
1- Character you don't particularly like, but will defend vehemently when people dislike them for the wrong reasons.
(also this is the only answer that saved lmao)
sadly i cannot think of any other characters so i have to talk about Mr. Warcrimes McTreason. i like canon essek okay though i do think he is Overhyped, but fanon essek is so annoying lmao which makes me not particularly like him. on the other hand i think people not liking him bc they don’t think he deserved redemption are Wrong. as a redemption arc it was like. Fine. not everyone can pull a zuko and like. whatever. and idk i think that redeemed heroes should be a little morally dubious. as a treat. i guess in a way i am glad that aeor arc essek doesn't get to actually be morally gray bc the fandom would be insufferable but Hot Take i am a Gray Morality Enjoyer i think that More protags should be war criminals actually.
17- You know that post that's like "I wish you could filter in ao3 on 'attitude towards a canon event'?" In the world of imagination, you can! What's the event or attitude?
*gestures vaugely at kingsley* to be completely honest i was pretty sad for a few moments there that they succeeded in rezzing molly, was tentative when whatever the end of 140 was, and i’m so happy kingsley is a thing. i think that people who wanted molly back have Missed The Point Entirely. molly needed to stay dead and talesin knew that (thank you talesin) (also not to mention fanon molly, who is infinitely worse than fanon essek. god can you imagine that. again thank you talesin.)

For the ask meme: 14?
14) Describe the art you would most like to create or commission if talent/money were no object. This is difficult, because I am not so much a visual thinker.  I love looking at art, but I’m not much for coming up with it.  I have a whole wishlist of which artists I would commission to draw which pieces of art once I actually have money... but they’re all for my d&d characters!  So... this is an interesting one! My first thought is a very dunamancy-looking piece with fractured small scenes of the Nein around the edges, around lettering of Essek’s line from 141: “I accept my regrets, my faults now, and I'm here today with this knowledge, in this moment with you, because of those mistakes. And as much as they hurt me, I don't want to change a thing.”  I have a tendency to just live in a constant state of regret, even over things that don’t matter at all, and learning to let go of it is a really difficult process.  I think something like this would be beautiful and also an important reminder to me. That or a steel ring that is designed to look like wood, with the words “Even iron can start again” (from Kerrek’s letter in C1) carved on the inside.  For the same reason. Prompt-
Basically one where Nesta calls out the hypocrisy/disrespectfulness of Cassian and Morrigans ‘relationship’ infront of the whole inner circle- maybe at like dinner or something? And makes Cassian and mor realise the error of what they’ve been doing
I know that was weirdly specific, but it’s always annoyed me how nothing was ever actually said to Morrigan OR Cassian about how selfish she’s being when it comes to him even tho it’s so obvious and was one of the reasons nesta pulled away from him
This was so cathartic to write. This is Nesta's anthem during the final scene. Obviously very anti ic/mor/cassian (azriel is safe).
Tumblr media
What utter foolishness had persuaded Nesta to attend a dinner with the Inner Circle? It had been five days since she had moved her scant belongings into her crumbling apartment in the most squalid district of Velaris. It had been three long weeks since her father’s death yet it felt like no time and an eternity all at once. Three long weeks since Nesta had cradled Cassian’s broken body with her own and been ready to die with him.
They had not spoken once. Nesta found that she was glad for it. No longer did his eye track her every move since she had departed the River House. So, why had Nesta agreed to dine with them? It was set to be a public dinner in a beautiful restaurant that overlooked the Sidra on what was sure to be one of the final golden sunsets of Autumn.
The blame fell on a pair of big, brown eyes. Elain had met with Nesta for breakfast in the city. She had chatted giddily about her days, of her favourite tea houses, or the last crop of sunflowers growing on the edge of the city. Elain hadn’t noticed that Nesta did not eat a bite of her croissant. Did not notice the haunted look in Nesta’s eyes. Each day felt like she was wading through cobwebs, fighting to breathe. Dust and regret coated her skin.
‘Nesta?’
‘Yes.’
She blinked away the vision of Elain, pale with terror, returned from Hybern’s war camp. Her brown eyes had been emptied out then like two cold hollows. Now, the light shined in them. They were warm and bright like a gentle doe.
‘You will? Oh, wonderful! Feyre will be so glad.’
‘For what?’
Elain’s face faltered. ‘For the meal on Friday. Were you not listening to me?’
Elain carried her hurt too publicly, did not nurse it in secret like Nesta. The notion that Nesta had not listened intently to her speech on proving bread had her bottom lip wobbling with betrayal.
Like a curtain had been ripped away, ruining the illusion, Nesta could finally acknowledge her sister’s faults. Elain could be conceited, content for the world to turn around her, to be treasured or doted upon without ever expecting to get her hands dirty in return. Not once had she enquired over Nesta’s new home or asked how she was settling in.
‘You’re not listening to me again.’
Nesta swallowed. She saw Elain’s flaws but felt guilt not to indulge them, an obligation to apologise and fuss around her.
‘Sorry. I was thinking of the route to the restaurant from where I live.’
‘Cassian could escort you.’
‘Not him.’
Elain flinched at the snap in Nesta’s tone. ‘Look, I know what happened between you that day changed things, but I think you should-’
‘Stop.’ Nesta rose from her seat. ‘I have never given you my opinion on your relationships with Graysen or Lucien. If you cannot extend the same courtesy to me then I ask that you do not speak at all to me.’
Leaving Elain in the café, blinking back tears, had made her feel like an utter wretch. The idea that any of them knew at all what had occurred was absurd. Death had looked them in the eye. Hope had abandoned them. And Feyre had seen fit to broadcast what she had witnessed to all of them like they were a commodity there for entertainment purposes.
A messenger had delivered a letter to Nesta that afternoon bearing the Night Court seal. She expected a telling off from Feyre, but it was in Elain’s neat handwriting.
Dear Nesta, I wasn’t trying to cause an argument and I am not criticising you for your reaction. I understand this is a sensitive topic for you, but we all lived through the war. I feel the same hurts as you. This is a chance to celebrate that we all made it. It would mean a lot if you would attend. Love always, Elain.
Nesta had caved in – as she always did where Elain was concerned.
On Friday evening, Nesta had readied herself for dinner. It was difficult to know how to dress in a faerie city with little morals and with a group of people who all dressed as if they were attending different functions. Mor, Elain, and Rhys would likely dress to the occasion. Feyre would favour comfort. The Illyrians were rarely in anything other than armour.
She opted for a finely-tailored, pewter gown that straddled the line between every-day comfort and sophisticated. However, on the way out of the front door, Nesta caught the handle of a pan with her elbow. She made a pig’s meal out of trying to catch it, showering her skirts with mushroom soup.
Cursing herself, she stripped off the dress, used it to mop up the spillage then tossed it onto the growing pile of laundry. In five days, she hadn’t yet purchased a washboard to scrub her clothes clean. She’d grown too reliant on the twin wraiths who did everything for her these last few months.
There was little else clean in her wardrobe that was suitable except for a dress she had shied from previously. It had been prepared for a visit to the Court of Nightmares but Nesta had changed her mind at the final moment. Out of options, she pulled it on. The velvet slid softly over her skin, moulding to the curves of her body. It flattered her figure, especially the breasts she preferred to hide. Time was ticking. She didn’t have the luxury of questioning if the dress was too scandalous. Quite frankly, she did not care either way. Propriety was not known in Prythian.
Nesta arrived at the restaurant with flushed cheeks. The sun had begun its descent, showering the city in golden warmth. The rooftop terrace had been reserved solely for the use of the high lord, of course. It had been bedecked with garlands of flowers and tiny, glittering balls of fae light.
‘Nesta!’ Feyre called, surprise ringing in her tone. ‘We didn’t think you were coming.’
Her cheeks burnt at the accusation. Surely, she was only a few minutes late; she had practically jogged across Velaris to make up the minutes spent cleaning soup from her floor.
Elain blushed. ‘I’m so sorry. That’s my fault. I gave you the wrong time by accident. I thought we were meeting at five thirty, not five.’
There was a collective murmur of understanding then Rhys said, ‘It can happen.’
Nobody could have told Nesta the correct time. Nobody could have been spared to come to her apartment. None could have waited the extra thirty minutes. Their drinks had been started on and a waitress came up the spiral staircase with a tray of appetisers.
‘We’ve already ordered,’ Feyre explained, grimacing slightly. ‘Sorry. We really thought you weren’t coming. If you go downstairs, I’m sure you can order too. Should I come with you?’
‘Don’t trouble yourself,’ she bit out.
As Nesta passed, she saw Mor’s not-so-subtle roll of the eyes to Feyre. Why did Nesta even bother? She wasn’t welcome. She deserved better than a pity invitation.
On the descent to the ground floor, Nesta convinced herself to simply walk back out. Perhaps they would realise once pudding was served that she hadn’t come back.
The exit was blocked by a colossus male. His wings were traps for sunlight; it flooded through them so they glowed. Cassian was shaking a male’s hand in farewell, conversation coming to him easily. Then he pivoted. His gaze snagged on Nesta. What could she do? Barrel past and pretend she had not noticed the biggest man in Prythian in the doorway she was squeezing through?
She abruptly changed course aiming for the bar. Nesta felt the quiver in the room as Cassian verged towards her as if their paths were meant to meet at this end point. No matter how fast he made her heart race, how many butterflies that erupted when Cassian was near, Nesta could always craft a cold, steady exterior around him. She raised a menu, pondering the choices whilst pointedly ignoring his arrival, even as he loomed over her.
‘Aren’t you going to say hello?’
Nesta continued reading, scrutinising every single item on the menu, then, finally, ‘Hello.’
‘I’d recommend the steak,’ he said, leaning closer. ‘Everything is delicious though. The whole restaurant is amazing.’
Nesta examined the wing that dangled a hair’s breadth from her bare shoulder. ‘They seem to have a vermin problem.’
The joke landed with a wry grin from Cassian. ‘Look who came to play.’
He prowled to her other side of her body as if he was asserting his claim on her, circling like a shark. She hated how big he was, how he dominated the spaces he was in. Hated the eyes flickering their way. Their story had gained wings and spread throughout Prythian. The Cauldron-born king slayer ready to die with the Lord of Bloodshed.
‘The seafood risotto, please, and a glass of your most expensive wine,’ she said to the server. ‘I presume Rhysand is paying?’
Cassian did not respond. His eyes devoured every inch of bare skin on display. It wasn’t a dress she would ever wear. It bared one of her legs, both of her arms, and too much of her chest. It was as black as the darkest night – a colour she never wore.
‘You look beautiful,’ he said, voice low and rough. ‘So beautiful. Black suits you.’
It was the same voice that he’d used just before they had winnowed into the Dawn Court for the high lords to meet. The next time, Emissary, I’ll come say hello. It rubbed against her skin with such an intensity, Nesta felt dizzy. He closed the space between them, forcing her to meet his own hazel eyes.
‘Have you settled in? Does it feel like home yet?’ A pause then, ‘Do you need anything?’
That was what she had been waiting for. Somebody to ask her how she was. How her home was. It was the first place she had ever been able to call her own, the one place she had chosen for herself. A thumb brushed against her arm as Cassian stood in front of her, all but pinning her to the bar. Nesta’s eyes dipped to his mouth, felt her breath hitch in her lungs. His wings unfurled, offering them a tiny parcel of privacy.
‘There you are!’ A bright voice called. ‘We thought you got lost!’
Cassian sprang away like he’d been scandalised. ‘I have too many friends wherever I go.’
Mor galloped forwards and threw herself into his arms. Cassian lifted her with ease, spare hand rubbing down Mor’s back in greeting.
‘I just need to order.’
‘Already done it for you. You’re an open book, Cass. Everybody knows your order.’
She felt like something one would scrape from their shoe. Of course, Cassian had arrived late but they had included him. Tears prickled Nesta’s eyes as she swept past their jolly greeting. Her feet stomped up the metal stairs, trying to loosen her anger before she reunited with the others.
Why did she care? It wasn’t the first time Cassian had discarded her in Mor’s presence. Some innate voice had alerted Nesta to Cassian’s injured wrist in that war camp. All of her focus had been on caring for him. For once, Nesta had not cared that other people watched her. Cassian had been the priority. Exhaustion – the likes of which she had never seen on him – etched itself into his handsome features. He had stayed holding her hand even after she had finished binding his wrist. Then Mor arrived. Cassian could not have let go any quicker. He had shifted his entire body away, sheepish to be caught fraternising with Nesta in any form.
‘Oh, that’s Mor’s seat,’ Feyre said as Nesta’s hand enclosed around the back of the chair. She moved to next vacant seat. ‘That’s for Cassian, I think. Unless he’s not here yet.’
‘He’s here.’
Nesta stepped back. There was no other seat available. They hadn’t even included her in the number for the table.
‘Take my seat,’ came a cool, crisp voice. Azriel stood and gestured to his chair between Varian and Elain. ‘I’ll ask them to bring up another table.’
As the male moved past her, Nesta felt the faintest hand on her back either offering support or urging her into the chair. She couldn’t tell if it was him or his shadows that had done it. Nesta only knew that she was glad for that touch, that miniscule reassurance that she had a place here.
Her first glass of wine was empty before the waitress had even finished delivering drinks to the whole table. ‘Would you like another?’
‘I certainly would. Thank you.’
Nesta tried to keep her eyes away from Cassian. In between lulls of his conversation with Mor, she felt his gaze on her often.
‘So, when will you start training your powers again, girl?’
‘Stop calling me girl,’ she snapped to Amren, causing a ripple of silence to leak down the table.
Amren, unperturbed, grinned. Her black nails drummed on the table as a vicious smile spread across her face. Varian, at least, had the good sense to look uncomfortable at that grin. ‘It is a waste, Nesta.’
‘I don’t have my powers anymore.’ She sipped at her wine, staring resolutely at her lap.
‘You are a terrible liar.’
Nesta refused to even give Amren the satisfaction of replying, of protesting that that horrid silver fire which churned inside of her had faded. No, it hadn’t. The war had excited it. Nesta was drowning in her power now that it knew what freedom was. Every day, it sought to find release – and every day she pushed it back down, built her walls wider, deeper, jailed it.
‘Let’s not turn this dinner into an interrogation, Amren,’ Rhys winked.
‘The real question is who is joining me at Rita’s tonight?’ Mor asked, sitting up in her chair. ‘Feyre?’
‘Not me.’
‘No, she has plans with me tonight,’ Rhys purred, pulling her in for a kiss. ‘It was a mistake on my part not to send half of your salary directly to Rita’s each month to clear your tab.’
‘I’ll come,’ offered Azriel.
Mor gave a little cheer then wrapped an arm around Cassian’s neck. He was eating, but that hadn’t stopped her from holding her own face inches from his. ‘You won’t disappoint me, will you? You’ll come to Rita’s with me.’
Nesta saw it then, the same flash of disappointment in Azriel’s eyes that she had worn often. A shadow had risen up, briefly, to wrap around him before disappearing again. Whatever history had occurred between Azriel and Mor, Cassian would always be there to step into the middle of it. Neither of them would ever be regretful of the pain it caused the shadow singer.
Cassian liked to play the hero, liked to rescue Mor from Azriel’s looks of longing. More than once, Cassian had been Nesta’s knight in shining armour. She glanced towards the House of Wind carved into the mountain. When Hybern’s twin ravens had attacked her and Feyre in the heart of the library, Cassian had appeared like a vision there to save her. Nesta had fallen into his arms, known she was safe the moment he touched her. Nesta refilled her glass again, almost to the brim.
‘Are you thirsty?’ Feyre joked.
Elain was doing a mental tally of how many glasses, Nesta had drunk. This would be number three. ‘Maybe you should slow down, Nesta. You’ve barely touched your food.’
‘No,’ Nesta said with a sickly smile. ‘I don’t think I will.’
It was never a problem for them to sink a bottle of wine each at every single meeting, so why should Nesta’s drinking fall under scrutiny? No judgement was cast on Mor who revelled in drinking herself sick at Rita’s each night. Nobody ever told Cassian to slow down his drinking.
‘Where is Lucien?’ Nesta could not help the venom seeping into her tone as she addressed Elain, her voice loud enough for the conversations around the table to simmer into nothing.
Elain shifted in her seat, colour flushing up her neck.
‘Lucien’s busy in the mortal lands.’
‘This is to celebrate the war efforts,’ she replied, turning her face to Rhys. ‘Or so Elain told me. Lucien should be here, shouldn’t he? He brought the armies. He brought Vassa.’
Rhys held her stare with equal amounts of steel.
‘Father did those things,’ Elain said meekly.
‘Lucien went to the continent because he is a good person who knows how to do the right thing. Father did those things to extend his wealth and ensure he received fame. Do you think he did those things because he cared about us? He didn’t even know we were in that war. He abandoned us to grow the fortune that Tamlin gave us. Everything he did was for his own benefit.’
At what point had Nesta become this creature which such sharp talons that she could shred through any body too slow to escape her? There was not a single moment that she could pinpoint. Elain clenched her jaw shut, staring into her lap to keep from crying. Angry red circles dotted Feyre’s cheeks.
The silence was heavy.
Finally, a low voice pierced it. ‘How is the rebuilding of Adriata progressing, Varian?’
The table heaved a collective sigh of relief at Azriel’s attempts to spark a conversation. Varian seized it, launching into a longer-than-necessary speech about the Summer Court.
From the glazed appearances of the high lord and lady, Nesta suspected they were communicating across their mental bridge. Likely they were discussing how to clip Nesta’s claws and muzzle her. Elain had turned back to her dinner. Azriel feigned interest in Varian’s poetic talk of fishing exports to the Spring Court. She risked a look opposite her; Mor and Cassian were play-fighting over a chunk of food on her fork. She dangled it near his lips then withdrew, silently giggling as he tried to chomp it. Another set of eyes branded into Nesta’s skin. Amren was staring at her with another malicious grin.
‘I need the bathroom,’ she declared, tramping back downstairs.
When she emerged to wash her hands, Mor leant against the sinks. Her blonde hair hung in loose waves past her shoulders. Her full lips were painted crimson.
‘Go easy with the alcohol. It’s stronger than mortal wine.’
Nesta scrubbed her hands under the stream of warm water. ‘I’m not mortal.’
No thanks to you, she thought. No thanks to your court who dragged me into this life I did not want.
Mor’s arm blocked her exit from the bathroom.
‘You’ve upset Elain tonight. Snapped at Amren. If you cannot manage to keep your forked tongue behind your teeth-’
‘Get some new material,’ Nesta interrupted.
Memories of that day, after the battle at Adriata, when Nesta’s nerves had been wrung out with worry over Cassian rose to the surface. How she’d even dared to ask after him in front of the others, to let her guard down and show her weakness for him. When he gets back, keep your forked tongue behind your teeth. Mor would forever be an obstacle if she ever wanted Cassian in her life.
‘Move.’
Although both wore heels tonight, Nesta was still taller than her. Mor did not intimidate her in the slightest. Whatever legendary status Mor had carved in the first war, Nesta had been the one to excel in the second. She had her own powers, own reputation now.
The blonde did step aside, brows high in surprise.
Nesta could not move past her dislike of Mor. They lacked any common ground except for Cassian. If Nesta tried to reach him then Mor was always waiting to block her path, to snip her attempts at growing towards him. In that war, all day long, Nesta had worked filling buckets and cutting bandages, assisting where she could with healers. Her hair had been plastered to her scalp with freezing cold rain, dirt splattered up his shins. She’d lost one of her shoes in the river of mud. She didn’t even know whose blood covered her after seeing so much death. Cassian had been injured. She had seen him carried into the healer by Azriel, blood pouring from his abdomen. Saw him fall in the battle. All Nesta had wanted was to know he was safe. Shouldn’t you be refilling that bucket? Mor hadn’t even allowed her to worry over him, far less go to his tent to see for herself if he was alive.
‘I ordered you chocolate cake,’ Elain said as she sat back into her seat. ‘Since you hardly ate dinner.’
‘I had not known I was under observation,’ she replied tightly.
Mor arrived back on the roof, eyes simmering. The blonde’s fierce guarding of Cassian was not solely dislike for Nesta. Cassian was big enough to make his own decisions. It was her own selfish interest that had her swooping towards him the moment Azriel came too close. Nesta was not blind. She knew very well that Cassian was Mor’s shield against Azriel’s advances. Feyre had let slip once that Azriel had longed for her touch for nearly five centuries, but she had chosen to bed Cassian instead to break off her betrothal to Eris.
The conversation churned around Nesta as a muffled, indistinct noise. A plate of cake drizzled with cream was placed in front of her by the waitress. She had managed to eat a few bites to settle her stomach. It was dark now, the warmth fading from the air.
Cassian had loosened the tight straps from Mor’s shoes and pulled her bare feet onto his lap. ‘I don’t know why you wear these things.’
‘Masochism,’ Amren replied, fingers wending into Varian’s hair.
Cassian began kneading his thumb into the arch of Mor’s foot. There were deep indents where her shoes had bitten into the skin. Blonde hair landed onto Feyre’s shoulder as Mor tipped her head back with a satisfied moan.
She dared a look at Azriel at the end of the table. It was the longing there – beneath desire, beneath lust – so full of sorrow that Nesta could not keep her eyes on him. The shadow singer loved Mor in his own way. He’d fight Eris for her, fight Beron or Keir. Mor was happy to embrace him, touch him tenderly when it was on her terms. The moment he got a little too close, too familiar, Mor would block him with Cassian rather than speak to him. She’d done it that night already; Azriel would have followed her to Rita’s, but rather than be alone together, she’d leant on Cassian. Both of them disregarded Azriel’s pain, pretended not to notice the disappointment tucking his wings in, the shadows comforting him. If Nesta could notice these things then surely Rhys and Feyre could. Not one of them would ever intervene. Not one of them would ever rock the boat because their dynamic would alter. If Mor acknowledged that she did not want Azriel, perhaps his loyalty would waver. Cassian was stupid to go along with it. Nesta was perhaps even stupider to have ever thought that he might prioritise her over Mor.
Nesta had had enough. Enough of the foot rubs and massages. Enough of the declarations they were siblings then the strange, flirtations a moment later. Enough of the constant proximity, the feet in laps, arms around shoulders. Enough of the hair stroking and kisses on foreheads. Enough of the pain in Azriel’s eyes each time they chose to hurt his feelings rather than face them properly.
‘Must you do that at the dinner table?’ Rhys said, wrinkling up his nose as Cassian squeezed the ball of Mor’s foot.
‘Must you do it at all?’ Nesta gritted out. ‘How can you stand them?’
Without realising, she was stood and addressing Azriel. From the set of his jaw, the shadow singer knew exactly what she was referring to.
‘How can you do this constantly to him?’
To me. To me was what she wanted to say but Nesta held her words back. How can you ignore me every single time she enters the room? How can you not know that it hurts me every single time I’m unwanted?
‘Nesta,’ a warning pealed in Feyre’s voice.
‘Do not try and leash me,’ she bit back. ‘Not now, not ever. I have asked you a question. Why can you not face this situation and be responsible?’
‘You’re reading it wrong, Nes.’
‘He’s like my brother,’ Mor reassured, drawing her feet out of Cassian’s grasp.
‘Do you massage each other’s feet too?’ Her eyes snapped between Rhys and Azriel then she turned to her sisters. ‘Have I ever massaged your feet? Varian.’
‘I don’t need to be part of this,’ said Varian, seeking Amren for support.
‘You have a sister. Did you ever sleep with her? Have you spent five hundred years flirting with her? Did you ever recoil from Amren when your sister was present and throw her hand away?’
The memory landed on Cassian. His eyes widened with regret. Feyre and Rhys had been witnesses to that moment in the camp. Their lips pursed in unison.
‘I think you need to grow up. Both of you. You,’ she pointed a finger at Mor in the same way she had done to the King of Hybern, ‘need to grow a spine and be honest with Azriel. And you,’ the finger pointed now at Cassian, ‘need to stop being so damn stupid to go along with it and disrespectful to Azriel – and me. You need to rename yourselves to the Court of Hypocrites.’
That was as much as Nesta would give in acknowledging her feelings for him. She pulled her coat from the back of her chair and draped it over her shoulders. The silence ringing across the roof was almost painful. Nesta knew she’d regret her outburst in the morning. For now, it felt good like letting out all of the poison that had been clogging her veins.
She settled a hand on Azriel’s shoulder on her way towards the stairs. ‘They’re not worth it. I hope you know that.’

In relation to the ask game, monk?
Also btw your art is great it’s been so fun following it for so long :3
Thank you so much! <3
Monk: what is your favorite canon relationship?
Hahaha. :) In case this was somehow not obvious, it’s Laudna and Imogen. They had me by the throat within seconds of their introduction.
And okay here’s the thing I’ve only ever had one (1) character relationship dynamic that I really care about. Like, this isn’t my criteria for shipping or anything it’s just that ships I get hyperfixation-level attached to happen to fall in this one weirdly specific category and it is this: romantic friendship between two magical and/or monster ladies, one pastel and one goth. One of them is doomed or carrying around some kind of Destiny and the other one is Very Concerned about it.
Whether or not they’re actually kissing doesn’t matter*, it’s the strength of the bond between them that makes my heart try to escape my ribs. Bonded like shelter cats who can’t be adopted separately. No one else more important to them than each other. A love that can (and does) save or end worlds.
It’s had a few iterations over the years but it’s never been canon before. I’ve always had to do a lot of AU heavy lifting because there’s some canon heteronormative boyfriend in the way or the setting was mostly original content and characters because the source material didn’t have many so the ship was half fanon to begin with or something. So to have the exact thing I’ve been longing for for probably close to 20 years fully realized and canonical handed to me right at the start of the campaign permanently altered my psyche. I have not cared this much about fictional characters in ever.
And what’s really special about it is that they are BOTH the magical and monster ladies!! And they are both doomed by their destiny while being very concerned about the other’s and trying to undoom each other! They understand each other on a soul-deep level – Laudna is the only person whose thoughts don’t cause Imogen psychic pain and Imogen was the first person in her whole undeath to regard her with compassion rather than fear. They were each the unique antidote for the other’s loneliness. And it’s beautiful!!!!
And they absolutely check all of the romantic friendship boxes so it was everything I wanted right from the start. While everyone was (understandably) crowing “Imodna canon!!” after episode 65 because they kissed I was kind of like Oh! Okay! This is new. :) :) but it didn’t change me as a person because that had already happened. They were canon from the beginning. The bond was always there. Imogen would have gone into hell and dragged Laudna out of it regardless of whether she had romantic feelings for her. They can’t be adopted separately!!
(CR asks)
*(I actually kind of prefer it without the conventional-romantic “dating” aspect because fandom in general tends to value the romance over the friendship but it’s not as compelling to me because I'm ace and though romantic and sexual attraction are two different things, the prevailing cultural understanding of "romance" tends to presume both and I'm just not interested. Intense friendship used to be much more of a social norm but it fell out of favor with the rise of the Standard Nuclear Family in the 20th century. But whether or not they could have remained a Strong Platonic Female Friendship has already been examined. ;) )

Creations AU, But I obnoxiously over explain it PT 2
Ahh Creations AU
My sweet sweet FNAF AU.
Oh how I love you dearly despite your doofy old art. ❤️
Tumblr media
Jeremy and Mike continue their conversation,
Jeremy mentioning Michael's "Dad" as an important figure in the pizzeria and someone who wants to keep secrets about shading happenings down below.
Who is he to Freddy's?
WE DUNNO.
We already know deaths take place here so shady things going on down below aren't out of the realm of possibility.
Bonnie proudly proclaims HE knows what goes on as a friend of his occasionally visits the surface, seems like Bonnie is just friends with a lot of Freddys.
Michael's sister died at a location called "Circus Baby's pizza world" now a rental place that houses the same animatronics down below. Jeremy refutes this as nonsense.
Bonnie is firm in it being true.
Mike is shocked.
Tumblr media
Jeremy and Bonnie continue to bicker and Mike feels solidly like he isn't in the loop about things here.
Jeremy wants Bonnie and by proxy Mike to leave so they do. Their shifts end at 6 Am.
Mike is now very curious about what else Bonnie knows and hasn't spoken about. For obvious reasons.
Bonnie feels he doesn't owe Mike information, which it seems Bonnie has a wealth of. Apparently Bonnie just, knows a lot about people around here. How does he get this info?
Do people TELL him this or does he get dirt on people?
Tumblr media
Mike continues to use bribes to try and get what he wants.
Leading to the conformation Mike in fact: Does NOT smoke...
Which leads to the question: Why was he carrying cigarettes?
There's two explanations:
Be bought them specifically to bribe Bonnie after he saw Bonnie smoking on night 1.
He had them before that for some reason.
Bonnie continues to show he has no regard for other's personal space or comfort in the way he takes the cigarette from Mike.
Is Bonnie this personal with everyone or....? He seemed uncomfortable with Freddy invading his personal space earlier but that just could be because of where Freddy was positioned.
Tumblr media
Bonnie why do you incessantly keep patting Mike's head. I know his hair is a complete mess but that's not gonna fix it. XD
Jokes aside: Bonnie's alright with spilling more of Michael's past as long as Mike doesn't say it came from him.
Michael's dad who we now know as "William Afton" (Conforming Michael's last name is Afton) has lost three of his children due to incidents at Freddy's.
Bonnie details how they died, but Mike is particularly disturbed by ONE in particular...For some reason.
Tumblr media
If yall have read FSR and it's over analysis ya might have remembered me mentioning suicidal shit is a THEME in my work?
Yeaaaaah our boy Mike is flirting with death and doesn't care if he flirts back.
Makes sense, he seems to know what kind of place this was as he wasn't phased by walking talking robots.
Bonnie's weirdly optimistic here asking "Why not fight for a future?"
Bonnie's the type of guy who fights for shit he wants. Clearly. Man is stubborn.
Tumblr media
Mike brings up he has one thing left to accomplish and said thing will happen if he dies or not. As if his mere presence here will do SOMETHING.
Aparently Bonnie has been a source of joy despite their seemingly unpleasant interactions. Likely for whatever reason Mike recognizes him.
Bonnie seems to feel a little guilty due to his actions but Mike assures him being insulted by his "Favorite" animatronic is funny.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bonnie seems to be rather happy with being someone's favorite robot. This is a high honor evidently.
Maybe a little embarrassed too, dragging Mike along until they reach the backstage room.
Lamenting Mike should at least ACT like he wants to live.
Mike just cozies up into his hug without a verbal response. He doesn't mention he'll try which is kind of sad.
For whatever reason Bonnie is a literal comfort character to Mike.
Tumblr media
Talking about actual comic development for a sec: You can usually tell which segments I started or stopped at. "Chapters" if you will. But the size of them VARY. Again, indie comic creator privileges.
Either way Mike rambles his plans to befriend Michael as a "Next step" he seems to have a plan in action...for something we aren't privy too for whatever reason.
This comic doesn't like to explain ANYTHING to you. Which confused a LOT of people. You gotta pay attention which is smth people HATED doing specifically on Webtoon.
A LOT as I've gone over is paying attention to dialogue from the characters as THEY reveal things about other characters which open up the story.
Knowing GENREAL Fnaf lore HELPS but a lot of people couldn't FULL detach what they knew and ended up confusing themselves by not applying "This is an idea not a firm cannon in this comic" approach I was going for.
Example: Robots are possessed thing I mentioned earlier.
In CANNON games: The FNAF 1 gang are possessed by kids.
In Creations: They are still possessed but not all of em are by kids. You can tell through context clues which ones aren't for sure based on their habits: Such as Bonnie smoking and Freddy being a sex addict.
So the IDEA of robots being possessed was kept but isn't a 1 to 1 reflection of the games.
People did not get this and it infuriated me. :)
There's also a prevailing THEORY in the fandom Michael and Mike are the same character.
Often they wouldn't use CANNON Fnaf material AT ALL to try and figure out Creations weird story: They'd pull from fan theories and FANNON/other comics.
Why? I could not fucking tell you. It makes no damn sense to me.
This comic lays a LOT out if you just read it at it's indented pace and not scroll a million miles a minute.
It's a slow burn. We establish a LOT before we get to the balls to the wall insanity. Because we're building unease with everything we learn about everyone in this building and even Mike himself.
NOBODY IS TRUSTWORTHY, NOT EVEN MIKE as Mike is clearly an unreliable person for information as the audience at least for now, considering he is a manipulator. Maybe we can trust Bonnie. But even then, Mike trusting Bonnie might be a character flaw of his attachment to the character and NOT a rational decision as we've seen he gets weird about this character in particular vs the other people and robots.
Anyways, as Mike explains befriending Michael is a good idea, Bonnie knows friendship isn't this guy's real goal and Mike is like
"Well no shit"
Bonnie's apparently "No snitch" which explains why everyone tells him things I suppose.
Tumblr media
Well well well.
Mike's investigating this twisted place. Makes sense.
Mike self proclaiming himself "brave and stupid" is funny to me. Bro fully admits what he's doing is stupid as fuck and I love that he's self aware. X'D
Someone is established/implied to be helping Mike. So I'm sure we'll see them eventually. For now whoever Mike's working with is a faceless entity of unknown status or power.
Is Mike with the police, a private investigator...Who is he still???
This doesn't truly answer who he is FULLY here...
Either way Bonnie doesn't pry. But this establishes Bonnie isn't all muscle and no brain. Since he picks apart Mike IS working with someone with little to no info.
Tumblr media
So right off the bat:
This is a clear lie from Bonnie. We KNOW Micheal has disclosed info with Bonnie that Bonnie hasn't yet shared with Mike. From Bonnie's little rant on "Not owing Mike info" and knowing things Jeremy Fitzgerald, who is ALSO implied to be Michael 's close friend DOESN'T KNOW.
Why is lying? Well could be for many reasons?
He doesn't wanna drag Mike into this further due to his obvious struggles with his mental health.
He doesn't want Mike to use Michael.
Either way he concedes to getting Michael to meet with him. Because a character flaw Bonnie has:
He will sell you out for things he wants.
Tumblr media
Again we are warned about the danger of the Circus Baby's rentals animatronics specifically Michael's "Friend".
Bonnie adding quotation could mean a lot of things, but it comes off as he doesn't consider this "Friend" to BE a friend. Which could tell us a lot about how Bonnie feels about this "Friend".
And we get to see Michael we know it's the next day from Bonnie's instructions on where to meet him.
And he looks...interesting...
If ya thought Mike's pale skin tone was odd this man is lilac with purple eyes. And a a goofy hair cut. It does get better I promise.
Tumblr media
Mike...Ya seem a tad distracted buddy.
This is Michael! Introduced properly. His name tag indicates he's also called "Mike" on occasions.
He's tall (At least compared to Mike) and is apparently friendly.
Also fun fact:
The first draft of this comic was a shitpost comic that got lore when Michael came in. Michael's OG concepts got mostly abandoned but ONE aspect of him has stood the test of time.
Tumblr media
Bonnie seemingly has introduced Mike to Michael as somebody who wants to be his friend...
Perhaps a little white lie on Bonnie's end.
Mike says another of my favorite lines "Yes, I'm very lonely" which just sends me whenever I see it because, fuck it's funny what do you want from me? X'D
And they swap numbers.
Smth some Fnaf fans got hung up on was the technology in the AU:
It's an AU. Fuck off. X'D
They have smart phones because I said so. The robots are technologically insane what makes you think a smart phone couldn't exist??? X'D
Tumblr media
Micheal "Talks to robots" quite frequently. William's apparently built nearly everything in the building.
Neat.
Michael wants to follow in his footsteps. How sweet.
Mike is STILL asking questions helpful to his investigation if you notice, also intentionally wording himself in a way that makes Michael and his experiences sound familiar.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mike is clearly being a fake bitch here which I find funny. Micheal obviously can't tell as he overall comes across as naïve and eager to make friends.
Makes sense since 3 of his siblings are dead and he almost exclusively talks to robots outside of Jeremy Fitzgerald it seems. Wonder if he had a good relationship with them before they died...
Mike is shown to be genuinely uncomfortable by the mention of "Fredbears" for some reason. They both share a fondness for the Bonnie line of animatronics specifically.
They decide to meet up later outside of work.
Tumblr media
Oh my.
You can tell I liked drawing this animatronic because these pages have BUDGET.
This thing clearly isn't a fan of Mike.
Could this be the "Friend" Bonnie warned about?
Tumblr media
Goodness me that's a big ol animatronic. It's stripped bare of any plating so it's just an endoskeleton comprised of twisted cables... It uses said cables to it's advantage so it's comfortable with it's body. It was presumably spying on the conversation by hanging on the celing this whole time...
Did Michael know it was here?
It only wears a mask with segmented face plates. One of it's eyes appears to be completely malfunctioned. It's clearly meant to be a clown. Very different style of robot from the ones we've seen so far: Being it's a HUMANOID one...
It also skips threats and goes right to direct violence towards our boy Mike.
Which he responds too with...
THAT.
A reaction that seems to wig the robot out.
Tumblr media
Still offput Mike makes a goof first impression, to "Ennard". Michael's "friend".
Something from older concepts from this AU:
Mike was a "badass" (Not even my words lmao readers thought he was badass. X'D I have to agree Mike's awesome I love him.) dude could go through a lot with a blank expression.
Though here he smiles and looks kinda, dead inside. But what's new.
Despite it's power Ennard appears to be insanely childish with their speech. Calling mike a "Jerk".
Tumblr media
Ennard repeats a similar sentiment to Bonnie when Mike responds with THE MOST BADLY INTURPRETED LINE IN THE ENTIRE COMIC SO FAR:
People genuinely did not understand this scene.
"Thanks I love you. Bye. Tell 'em I said hi"
If you didn't catch WHY Mike said that:
He's clearly disassociating right now because of how much REAL DANGER he is in. You can tell from the way he slowly just stops looking AT Ennard and kinda through him. Mike's like, not fully home.
That response, is the kind of thing you'd say to someone while ending a phone call as quickly as possible with a family member or something.
It's a response that doesn't match A SINGLE THING THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT and shows an ODD amount of familiarity with someone he literally doesn't know. And it clearly flusters Ennard because he has no idea what Mike is talking about because this whole response is very weird without any prompting.
It's like something he defaults to when he can't deal with who he's talking to and wants to get away.
And he does. Leaving through the door.
Tumblr media
Mike seems satisfied with himself as he goes back to whatever he's doing.
Michael clearly is someone of importance if he has a freakin' giant body guard.
Tumblr media
Mike's working night shift again. That is his job...And he sees a child on one of the cameras.
Weird.
He's probably sleepy from working a bit into dayshift.
Tumblr media
Oh. Somebody's watching you buddy.
Could it be...the same golden bear that was a giant floating head in the hallway?
They match his steps as he walks down the hall staying just out of site of the viewer AND Mike.
Tumblr media
Huh. So Mike knows ANOTHER person here...That kid is familiar.
He's still being shadowed.
Tumblr media
Aw.
A little baby.
"You" is apparently just who this is.
Do you know their name Mike?
Tumblr media
Chasing chasing
Oh hello Bonnie you're getting touchy with Freddy huh?
The stage seems to have a door on it...For some reason.
Tumblr media
Well shit Freddy you didn't have to say it like that.
Tumblr media
HUH.
So Bonnie can't see this kid. Weird.
Again Bonnie showing concern about Mike because he's cool.
Tumblr media
Oh my.
Oh dear.
PICTURE LIMITS ON TUMBLR I'M SCARED TOO MIKE
Jokes aside. What a cliff hanger.
The art style looking wonky there...
Wonder why Mike ran into the break room...What's in the break room buddy?

No one asked me the “what songs remind you of specific characters?” post for the weirdly specific CR ask meme but I’ve been thinking about it ever since so:
“I’m Still Standing” by Elton John is a Fjord song
“Dark Chest of Wonders” by Nightwish is a Mighty Nein song
“Heat Above” by Greta Van Fleet is also a Mighty Nein song
“Irgendwie Irgendwo Irgendwann” by Nena is a Shadowgast song
“Der Letzte Song (Alles Wird Gut)” by Kummer is a Caleb Widogast song
“Foreign Object” by The Mountain Goats is a Chetney Pock o Pea song
I will not be accepting any judgement about my musical taste, thank you and good night.
Edit: oh, and “Won’t Back Down” by Tom Petty is a Keyleth song

Ask game!
you're getting song lyric fics. "Take the phone off the hook and disappear for a while" & "Don't ask for help you're all alone". (both Billy Joel songs, "Viennna" & "Pressure")
Ohohohohoho, both fantastic lyrics! I always appreciate some Billy Joel.
"Take the phone off the hook and disappear for a while"; the vibes on this one are to me, the kind I would love to apply to a more introspective fic, or maybe something where canon diverges a bit in a dark way. Hurt/comfort isn't one of my more typical genres to write but I feel it could fit that quite well!
For Crit Role that would 100% be a Percy or Caleb fic for me. Those two are very easy to punish. I also get the sense it could fit very well for a Caleb/Lucien fic specifically in CR. Those two have the fucked vibes necessary to live up to the title. In terms of specific fic ideas, what came to mind was something related to Caleb's backstory: for those unfamiliar, canon involves a few incidents of dissociation related to it, so exploring that via a short fic (with that banger title) would work great. Especially regarding Caleb's feelings on it, since we don't get a ton in canon about how he feels about the dissociation specifically.
Weirdly, if I went the BNHA route, I would actually go for something Hawks-related, even if he's not as overtly an angsty character. Maybe some villain (or anti-hero) Hawks (a beloved fave trope of mine) for the flavour. There are just so many possibilities for this one; I may have to scrawl it down somewhere for future use <3
"Don't ask for help you're all alone"; My brain immediately went to the most literal interpretation of the title, aka one of those impeccable 'Character A is in trouble/hurt and (thinks) they can't ask for help from anyone.' Basic, but it fucks for a reason. Again, I have a litany of sad pathetic male characters to put in that situation. Or a nice little trope reversal would work as well!
I get strong Tomura vibes from this one: BNHA strikes again! Maybe something examining his leadership of the PLF, or even the weird fucky mind-state with him, AFO and etc. Another possibility is something for Crit Role, maybe Jester-centric, about the first few days outside Nicodranas. Seems either way, I end up writing angst for these prompts. Woops!
Thank you so much for the ask! Hopefully there was a coherent answer somewhere among all the rambling XD
(ask game is here)

Question on my DR family pac reading: " What happens to someone's family when they shift? Do we leave them energetically? Does it make people feel disconnected from their loved ones? "
Ok, so when you shift to another reality, your body and (one part of) your consciousness still stays in this reality. You just choose to experience something somewhere else for a moment so to say. You shift your focus.
So to say, you can be at two or more places at the same time (that's how big your consciousness is) you are just not fully aware of it. You individually just choose where (which reality) to focus on NOW specifically. You shift your awareness and not your body.
CR stands for 'current reality' and describes the reality you are in right now. Your CR self (the you here) will behave and think the same way and won't behave weirdly (people used to call their CR self 'clone' but i really hate this expression and it's totally misleading in my opinion). Your CR self is usually unaware that you’ve shifted until you return and merge back with the part of consciousness here in your CR.
Your family stays exactly where they are, in this reality. It has no effect on your family. Only you experience 'the shift'. Your family and loved ones won't feel disconnected to you because one part of you is still here. Your current self from this reality (while you experience another reality) will be the same to them and they will be the same to you. Don't worry.
I don't know how to explain it in a more simple way😅 If you have more questions about shifting itself because you're totally new to it, I would maybe recommend to read a beginner guide (I really like this one, it is written in a very easy and light way🍀) But you can also ask follow-up questions of course. ❤️ @mariah0913

32 for the ask meme!
;Weirdly specific and overly long Critical Role Ask Meme
32. If the CR main cast were to play the original 7 tombtakers per The Nine Eyes of Lucien (Brevyn, Cree, Jurrell, Lucien, Otis, Tyffial, and Zoren) in a one shot, who should play whom? Assume Matt DMs, but you do not need to have Taliesin play Lucien.
Brevyn - Laura
Cree - Marisha
Jurrell - Liam
Lucien - Sam
Otis - Ashley
Tyffial - Travis
Zoren - Taliesin
I was going to not explain my choices because it's really funny not to, but I do need everyone to know these things:
I am very serious about Sam as Lucien. It is not a joke. He excels at obnoxious and he excels at oily and he excels at charismatic or thinks they're charismatic, so I think he should be allowed a chance to be someone who is oily, obnoxious, and thinks he's charismatic but is also just not a good person at all. I think Sam does very well within set parameters too, so this is both a limited exercise and is in his general type wheelhouse (more than I think people think), so I think he should be given opportunity to play a character like Lucien.
Liam keeps trying to romance Travis' character and keeps just missing out on it (exception being Lieve'tel and Bertrand), so I think this is a great opportunity to allow Liam and Travis to play characters who are romantic partners. Let them be lovers who attempt to ignore everything and everyone else to twirl their hair at each other and are mad people make them do stuff that isn't heart eyes at each other. It'll be really funny, and I think they can do some really fun stuff with it.

hey this is SO petty but since u were digging thru the ned fulmer mess I figured I'd share: in this video-- https://youtu.be/CR-mfXneiho at 2:02 ned makes fun of ariel for asking for support and even tho its supposed to be a joke and was 7 years ago I've mistrusted him and their relationship ever since 😭😭 literally this was the first thing that popped in my head when I heard about the cheating but its so small and weirdly specific (and also shows how much buzzfeed I watched as a teen 🤢) that I can't explain it irl to anyone
its also so incredible how he looks like such a little loser dude right there but the bitch got a little popularity put on a leather jacket and grew some stubble and decides he's hot shit enough to cheat on his wife and that's why you don't give ugly dudes a chance

2, 26 and 40 for the weirdly specific cr ask. Have a great day!
2) Favorite unhinged shopkeeper ZOOOORTH! The moorbounder stablemaster Zorth in Asarius is hands down my favorite absolutely unhinged shopkeeper in all of CR across all seasons. It helps that I also just really love Asarius and wish we'd spent more time there.
26) You must swap one nat 1 die roll with one nat 20 die roll. They must both be from the main campaigns, but can be cross-campaign. Which are they, and why? Do you know what's funny is I don't really remember these things very well because I focus almost entirely on the narrative. I do have like a favorite nat 20 but I would never want to swap it out! Its also technically not from the main campaigns, though it was VM (the ending of Search for Grog). HMMM. I suppose I would swap any of Sam's nat1s as Nott that he refused to reroll with any of the nat20s that happened when it didn't really matter, like during shopping episodes :P
40) What named but as of yet unseen character do you most want to see onscreen? Oh the Thelyss family 100% I neeeeed to know more about them and their mannerisms and accent quirks and anything else Matt might ever decide to show us. For c3 I guess I'd really love to see Orym's surviving family. I just think that'd be neat.

3, 4, 18, or 27 for the ask meme?
too bad val i am answering all of them (also spicier ones are under the cut) (also ty for the ask!)
4. Minor character you are (correctly) obsessed with.
i am picking one for each campaign bc. hehehe (do i have a thing for unhinged women. yes)
c1: ok i know she is not so minor but ridley. i think she is my fav c1 villain. i love how she interacts with the party, she is literally the perfect foil to percy (like oh my god, you wanna talk about narrative foils, who is doing it like percy and ridley???), and she gets by far the most iconic and memorable death of any c1 villain imo. "percy's killing you, not us" has been burned into my brain since i heard it. i also think it is partially the tlovm effect, but she is highly underrated compared to the briarwoods like idk man i feel like nobody talks about her nowadays even though she was in tlovm!!! plus every single fanart of her SLAPS and so does marisha's halloween costume. in conclusion: i love her
c2: i would say astrid but she is too major imo so VESS DEROGNA. im literally obsessed with her what was UP with her connection to the nine eyes like what was her relationship with the tomb takers and WHAT was she even trying to ACCOMPLISH like GIRL and also the beacons and yeza like what was she trying to have him do??? was it just her or was the whole assembly in on it?? and then she just turns into a STORY HOOK and DIES and granted that is also a certified iconic cr moment but like girl!!! girl what!!!! NOT TO MENTION she holds the EXACT SAME POSITION delilah briarwood HERSELF held and we know NOTHING ABOUT THAT. i think she is for sure far more connected than people give her credit for and is perhaps behind some of the c3 happenings. she is the literal definition of haunting the narrative like bestie she caused the entire aeor arc and Nobody talks about her!!! girl what!!! anyways as u can see i think about her on a very regular basis tbh. im obsessed.
c3: marwa. i dont have a lot to say about her other than shes just like me fr and i hope that she is the shopkeeper they decide to befriend this campaign bc i love her
18. Share one unpopular opinion but it must specifically only pertain to Sam's ads.
I Did Not Like The D&D Beyond Presidential Race Bits (besides the one where ashley roasts sam). im sorry sam and liam.
27. Pick one character, ship, or party; and one song you associate most with them, and explain why. This song cannot be on an existing playlist from the main cast. It also cannot be We Have it All by the Pim Stones nor Dust Bowl Dance by Mumford & Sons; I love those AMVs but please think for yourself.
i mean like i have a whole post about bells hells as the oh hellos songs. i also do in fact have several working dedicated character playlists bc im Like That (including a laerynn playlist that is only mitski songs, aabria i hope you are proud of me). HOWEVER chasing twisters by delta rae is an imodna song bc 1) i saw an animatic of it (i am in fact not a free thinker) 2) yeehaw, storm, and undead vibes and 3) there are literally 2 female singers and the first verse is imogen (born with lightning in her heels, lost hope when she was still young, breakin' horses in the sky, chasing twisters in the canyon) and the second verse is laudna (notably has little soul left, idk if imogen is the only soul laudna has saved but she has in fact saved her) and 4) kiki hasnt watched c3 in like a year but she said this song reminds her of imodna when i sent it to her and kiki is always right. its so perfect sue me (also this is one of like maybe 3 ship songs i can think of lmao)
not nearly as spicy as the other one but this is gonna go under the cut anyway
3. Minor character people in the fandom are obsessed with that makes you go "them? why?
oh my god ngl i had to go on the wiki for this one. couldnt think of anyone off the top of my head. i dont think he counts as a minor character but yussa. hes just like. some guy to me. who keeps doing Wizard Stuff when he really shouldn't. and hes also a trans king ofc. like idk i like him, but idk why some ppl are obsessed with him.

ask meme! Anything from 3, 4, 37 or 39
3) Minor character people in the fandom are obsessed with that makes you go "them? why?" Bryce Feelid. They were perfectly fine, just didn’t really grab me?
4) Minor character you are (correctly) obsessed with? ...does Luc count as a minor character?  I’m not trying to pun about him being a minor, I’m actually asking.  Cause, like, wow that kid went through a LOT and I love him.
37) You have to take a 16 hour road trip with one NPC from each campaign […] Who do you pick? Hmm. I’d say Beau, Pike, and Ashton.  Not because I’d get along best with them, I just think all of them have a solid chaos : common sense ratio that make for optimal road trip partners.  Plus: Beau would bring pocket jerky, Pike would bring baked goods, and Ashton would bring good road trip music.
39) Favorite parental figure NPC? Trent Ikith—KIDDING I’M KIDDING I’M SORRY I’M KIDDING
Honestly, while he wasn’t much of a parent, I found that 3am conversation with The Gentleman really compelling. Reminded me of a lot of way-too-late-at-night talks with my dad… who, thankfully, is not a crime boss or human trafficker. But yeah, it was just a very… Getting To Know Your Parents As An Adult talk and I liked it.

2: favorite unhinged shopkeeper
i'm gonna be predictable and say viktor, 1000%. like you can't even watch matt coming up with him in real time because he just does it so seamlessly that you'd think he'd already made him up beforehand. the way he bounces off of percy is an absolute riot to watch and i want the flashbacks to ripley meeting him so bad. i know matt claimed in a fireside chat that viktor died in the assault on vasselheim but respectfully: no <3

14, 20, and 40 for the weirdly specific cr asks? Hope you have or had a good(great) day(and most of the ones that come after too) :) - from a snail
hello snail......... curious lmao
14 - Describe the art you would most like to create or commission if talent/money were no object.
This is. A tough one because my brain isn't super visually artistic, I'm much better with words, but... probably something dramatic. My brain is stuck on vexleth for it and is just showing me them making out in formalwear during an important event. We all saw their outfits in TLOVM. Give that to me again. Show me Vex with that leg slit.
20 - What non-D&D TTRPG would you most like to see Critical Role run a one shot in?
ANYONE WHO KNOWS ME KNOWS I HAVE A FIXATION ON THE FUCKING CINDERBRUSH ONESHOT I WANT THEM BACK. BRING BACK CINDERBRUSH GIVE ME MORE SASHA MURASAKI. So Monsterhearts. Even just another oneshot like the question asks.
If not that, definitely We Die Young.
40 - What named but as of yet unseen character do you most want to see onscreen?
Honestly the only one I can think of would be The Observer from EXU? Dariax's god or whatever. I'm fucking curious as shit about that. What are you hiding in that brain of yours Mercer.
