Taskmaster Recording Report

This will be a long post and it has spoilers, so proceed with caution. More after the cut.

I will put in two different sections, what happened on warm-up and between takes and what they cut from the episode and I remember. WARM UP

Greg told people to stop sending sexy DMs because he would disappoint all the ladies/some guys.

He introduced Alex who came to the stage and hugged Greg's...knees?

Greg told the audience Alex was a master and could mimic any animal doing a dance style. He did a guinea pig first and it was the cutest thing, then a wolf (there is a picture of this that was used on a press release) and then a lion. When Greg asked about a dance style I yelled SAMBA with all my strength and then I saw Alex trying to samba as a lion. It was amazing.

Mark Olver asked who came from furthest to watch it and I raised my hand and said Brazil and he said BULLSHIT, you didn't come here just for that. I then explained I also was going to see Tim Key in Cardiff the next day and he was like "Oh..she did came here just for that then"

Again British people can't understand my name so I was referred as "Brazil" for the rest of the afternoon

I was also questioned about how do I watch the show and I quickly replied Youtube .

He made me list my favorite contestants to see if I could stay in the country. I tried to think which contestants were on the YouTube series uploaded. I then said Bob Mortimer, Mike Wozniak and Mark Watson (Alex smiled a bit when I said his name). Olver went " I can't believe someone in Brazil was watching the Woz fart a pile"

When I was telling I am from Brazil Alex waved at me and I was sure he knew who I was because long story short a bunch of friends really made me feel special and got me a signed book by Alex and he knew I was going to be there after travelling for 14+ hours.

At that point Greg said "Did you come for me???" and I pathetically went YES Y ES YES. He waved at me and IDK till today how I survived this.

They joked about a guy being first row and not being a fan,Mark asked who he had to fuck to get those seat and greg was pointing to himself.

They said we were clapping at the wrong places and that would confuse Alex and Greg

After the recording when I got back to London randomly meet Asim Chaudhry on Leceister Square. He was so sweet. We chatted a bit , I talked about how Sandman was big here, and that he had Brazilian fans and he got very excited and telling his mates about it

STUDIO

Sue got a massive round of applause. I think she and Julian got the big whoops from the crowd

The prize task was so much longer. Lucy went for ages talking about the ghost of the dog, and Greg kept asking questions. I knew most of it would be cut, but Greg kept mentioning during the episode and made me question how they would edit the references. They are bloody genius those editors.

Sam's Pinocchio made quite the impression, and Greg had a lot of fun with it. They talk about Pinocchio's penis, there was questions if it grew too with the lies. And Greg kept saying Pinocchio during the recording.

Sue's monkey orgy story was longer too.

When they showed Sam getting super closer to Alex, Greg mentioned Alex was very uncomfortable with touch and to prove that he got really touchy. BTW guys the amount of hand touches, and whispers behind the cards...they are insane

After the team task they were basically talking about how kinky it was, and Greg joked about Alex tied up , hogtie style and that he enjoyed. This was the thing I was most excited and I hope they put on the outtakes because I know how the fandom will be mental about it.

Greg is...MAGNETIC! Like the man demands attention and is very hard to not be looking at him. I kept looking at them at the studio and mostly ignored the tasks because I knew that I could see them later.

The live task took ages to set up and to reset after every round, Greg even joked we would spend the night there. It was more or less 3 hours of taping.

Greg interacted with us a lot because they had to reset the seesaw all the time, At one point he asked us to go "oooooh" that was show in the episode but he asked Alex using those words "Do you want the audience to oooh you while you pull it out slowly for me?" and he said with such a voice that...if I were a dude I would have a boner.

There was a point when Alex had to explain the outcome and he got it wrong and the audience corrected him to Greg's delight, he was very giggly. Sue got quite mad at Alex and the chains.

I guess it was this. At least that is what I took from my notes.

Tweet 8: And then you can't find it. Because, as mentioned previously, you're in the UK. The Last Unicorn was published for the first time in 1968. But, if you look at the British Library's National Bibliography (super neat resource btw), that was, uh, about it. Tweet 9: The Tachyon edition is the unfinished first draft of the story. The IDW edition is a gorgeous graphic novel. But in terms of the novel? I don't know how many reprints it had (if anyone knows, I'd love to find out), but there's a good chance it went out of print in the 70s.

Tweet 10: The film, however, was released in 1982. Although it didn't make it to the UK until 1986. Conservative estimates could put that between 10 and 15 years since the book was last available in the UK. This gives you a generation in the UK who only know the story through the film! Tweet 11: The screenplay was written by Peter S. Beagle, and made by the legendary animation directors Arthur Rankin Jr. and Jules Bass. That's right, the guys behind Thundercats and 2 out of the 3 films based on The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

Tweet 12: The Book has been in print in the USA (and possibly all of North America) constantly since its publication, so it seems baffling that people in the UK haven't heard of it. As the internet became more prominent, however, it became easier to just... import a copy of the book.

Fantasy High Junior Year Teaser Trailer Details!

ok there is so much packed into this teaser I've watched it so many times and on super slow speed but this is not meant to be exhaustive this is just what I saw/am excited about so if you saw more please let me know and add it!!

First up: Shrimp King pin!!! I love how enduring the shrimp party is. It never gets old.

Aguefort AV Club pin! Bringing us all the way back to Biz and the palimpsests and the intricacies of high school social strata.

This one I'm less sure about, but it's definitely a pride pin!! I can't quite tell if it's specifically an Owlbears pride pin, but it could be! (I desperately want these sold as a pin set btw. Dropout. If you're listening.)

This note on the back of the locker is a reminder for the cantrips club! The note reads:

I love this so much. Just genuine shit you'd find in a high school locker.

Last things are these books. We've got "Abracadabra: Look At Me Now:", written by Arthur Aguefort. We've got "Beginner's Guide to Sneak Attack". And we've got "Are You There God? It's Me, Your Cleric" which is hands down one of the funniest things I've seen in my life.

Like I said this is just what I noticed and was able to pull out in a couple minutes, but oh my god I'm so so excited about this!!!!

◇ i like to imagine the clergy decorates for the holiday season, i’m not sure what exactly they’d celebrate since i’m no expert regarding theistic satanism (i need my art school anon to help me with this one 🤍) but i think they would do some of the christmas-esque stuff just for the fun of it

◇ i imagine their decor is a nice fun mix of spooky and sweet, or more of a witchy vibe.

◇ i headcanon that they’re in sweden, which means there’s snow outside!!! terzo doesn’t like the cold, since he’s from italy haha but his kids loooooove playing in the snow so he sticks it out for them!

◇ he gets all wrapped up in like 1000 layers because he’s a big old baby, definitely not dramatic at all.

◇ but also he makes his kids do the same, he’s very protective and wants to make sure his kids don’t freeze!

◇ honestly i think terzo’s the kind of dad who would make up an urban legend to scare his kids into wearing proper winter gear…💀 they’re SPRINTING to get inside after he tells them about the monster who eats little children who don’t wear their gloves…

◇ do not take terzo ice skating because his ass will fall down over and over and over again. but on second thought, it makes the kids laugh, so maybe do take him.

◇ terzo cannot wrap presents. he is so bad at it. he has to ask the ghouls or one of his brothers to do it. but this also means he really appreciates the artistry of gift-wrapping.

◇when he gets a gift of any kind he always wriggles his fingers and goes “for me?” like you’ve just bestowed a treasure upon him.

◇ he will absolutely melt if his kids give him a gift of any kind, a homemade card or even just a cool rock one of them found. he will keep it forEVER.

◇ if there’s an elf on the shelf or some kind of satanic equivalent, terzo is leaving it in the funniest fucking places. then he sits around waiting for his kids’ reactions because he loves hearing them laugh.

◇ but it’s not just for the kids- it’s for his own amusement as well. you can bet that elf is going on nihil’s grave.

◇ every christmas eve eve (december 23rd muahaha) terzo watches nightmare before christmas with his kids.

◇ terzo’s favorite christmas movie is home alone, but he has to give the kids a disclaimer before they watch because they’re little troublemakers and they WILL get ideas from all the traps and shenanigans.

◇ i don’t know about anyone else, but i always had a hard time as a kid falling asleep on christmas eve because i was so excited. i imagine terzo’s kids are the same way haha, so he reads them stories until they fall asleep.

◇ terzo doesn’t care much about his kids believing in santa until they tell him they don't. because to terzo, that’s a challenge.

◇ initially, he wants to dress up as santa himself, but he knows the kids are smart enough to find out it’s him. so he has to outsource his work. (he makes omega dress up as santa and put the gifts terzo made him wrap under the tree. omega gets a raise.)

◇ the kids are getting whatever they ask for btw. it’s typically nothing too unreasonable because they’re raised well haha.

◇ if the kids want to leave food out for santa, terzo’s using it as an excuse to order a fancy ass hundred dollar meal and eat it at 3 am. santa’s getting steak made with wagyu beef and a nice glass of wine.

◇ i hc that terzo can cook but he can’t bake for shit, (i have a fic i’ve been wanting to finish for so long about that) so primo makes the kids gingerbread cookies (he has an extensive cookie cutter collection) and they’re all decorated super fun lol.

◇ also in my mind the clergy is a huge piece of property with a forest behind it, and in this forest there are deer! so before the sun sets on the night of christmas eve terzo takes the kids to leave food for the deer as fuel for their upcoming flight :,)

Oh yes, the heroic and beloved Percy Jackson and the smart and beautiful Annabeth. A perfect couple, right? Well, they used to be, until you came on the scene.

Percy was the first to set his eyes on you. You were the newest camper at Camp Half-Blood and belonged to Aphrodite's Cabin which made perfect sense considering how beautiful you were.

He was thinking about you for days. He knows it's wrong for him to be so burdened by someone that he only exchanged a few compliments and he also has a girlfriend! But Percy couldn't stop thinking about you.

Annabeth is smart, it didn't take long for her to discover her boyfriend's sudden interest in you. But Annabeth wasn't angry or jealous, no, she was relieved that she wasn't the only one who felt that way about you.

In fact, Annabeth was the first to have contact with you. She was the first to know you and to have these feelings for you. Chase was confused, she's never felt this way about anyone but Percy before, so why couldn't she take her eyes and her thoughts away from you?

You were a friendly and kind person by nature, a bit naive to be honest. You trusted people too easily, completely unaware of the evils of the world.

But its alright. That would only make it easier for Percy and Annabeth to get close to you. They were already very well known and popular at camp when you first met them, but you were surprised and disconcerted by the intimate way they acted when they first spoke to you. Touching you subtly and it felt like the words they spoke had something hidden behind.

They were inflexibles about staying with him all the time. You didn't have privacy, it should have bothered you, but it didn't, you felt grateful that you'd made friends so quickly. Although, these friends want to be much more than that to you, but for now they can be content to be your best friends.

Percy has become overprotective of you. He considered himself your own protector and anyone who tried to raise a hand to hurt you would bitterly regret it. Percy feels responsible for you, so if something bad happened to you he would blame himself, but not before erasing the existence of whatever touched you.

Annabeth is extremely possessive. She feels entitled to you, that you belong to her, she would glare at anyone who looked your way. She hates it when someone looks at you, when they talk to you, when they touch you or even when they breathe in your direction. You are hers and she would make you understand it one way or another!

When they got tired of hiding their feelings for you, you had only two options: accept to be with them or be kidnapped and forced to be with them. Fortunately, you made the ''right'' choice and accepted they feelings. You liked them too, trusted them and knew they would never hurt you. So why not be with the two people you love? Too bad you have no idea how obsessive and crazy they are for you.

After the relationship starts, they don't like the fact that you're so friendly, it really bothers them a lot. They get jealous when you give someone that beautiful, attractive smile, the way when you're so kind and understanding to everyone gets on Percy and Annabeth's nerves. While this is one of the traits that make them love you so much, it eventually became what they hated the most. It would only bring you more attention than you already get from being Aphrodite's daughter and they don't like the idea of you attracting attention.

They would try to hold your reins, whispering things in your ear that aren't true, like the fact that they're the only ones who really love you, that everyone else hates you, and you, silly and naive, believe in your boyfriend and girlfriend. They would never lie or deceive you in any way, right?

The more you separated yourself from others, the more satisfied they were. Now everything was going well. You would be protected by Percy and Annabeth. They are the only ones you need and it would stay that way forever. They will make sure of it. That they would be the only ones you would come to when you needed help, the only ones to hear you complain about your problems, the only ones to see you cry and dry your tears. The only ones to love you.

okay well i guess i didn’t need my alarms cause i can’t seem to sleep more lmao. it’s 5 am

soooo pokemon presents in a little less than 4 hrs huh? realistically i’m expecting something either johto or unova related and since they’re apparently lighting up NYC today, which is not usual for pokemon day, i’m kind of leaning unova. i have mixed feelings about this since as much as i actually did enjoy my time with BDSP, i was dually disappointed by them and i’m still sad that sinnoh isn’t going to get the HGSS or ORAS treatment ever - if unova remakes were to be of a similar caliber of bdsp, i’d rather them just not exist at all frankly. nostalgia bias and my immense love for sinnoh aside, i think the unova games, especially bw2, are some of the best games in the entire franchise, and if they are remade, or get bw3 sequels, or whatever, i want them to be GOOD. lets not spit on the legacy of gen 5 now!! but. i remain cautiously optimistic. i’m not a super cynical pokemon fan and like i said i did enjoy bdsp despite everything. also a legends kyurem or whatever would be awesome btw i wanna see the og dragon lol. johto would also be cool but i’m having a lot less thoughts on it for some reason. i’m sure if they announce anything johto ayano will have incredibly passionate thoughts about it

now i’m not really one for predictions, the above talk is maybe the most obvious outcome since they usually do remakes mid-gen. instead i’ll just talk about some things i would WANT even if they’re a pipe dream and i don’t necessarily expect them:

a new PMD. not an explorers remake, a new PMD with a fresh story and everything. we haven’t had a proper new PMD story since 2015 and i MISS IT. i’d also enjoy explorers remakes but frankly i want a new game the most and i wanna play as sprigatito SOBS THE PALDEA STARTERS WOULD BE SO GOOD FOR PMD

gen 3 on NSO with full online capabilities and also connectivity to NSO ports of colosseum and gale of darkness. i 100% do not think this is happening but it would blow me away if it did. the amount of gen 3 that so many people were never able to experience as children, especially me… could finally be done online!!! it’d be cool if they removed all the dumb trading restrictions too but unlikely. (as an aside if they released gen 1/2 VC again with stadium compatibility that’d be epic but i somehow expect that even less)

some sort of new stadium-type game with home compatibility that provides single player trials similar to that of the old gen battle frontiers. i just REALLY really miss old singleplayer battle challenges. i want a new one to spend a bazillion years on making wacky teams and winning w them. i enjoy VGC but sometimes that singleplayer experience hits different

i really am a spinoff enjoyer. surprise me with something new! that isn’t a mobile game with gacha elements! just a whole new standalone pokemon idea. no idea what genre just excite me

Getting the Cap’n to trust you took...awhile to say the least

Years actually, but y’all can read about that when I post ab it AHAH-

Sleeping with them started out separately, as they weren’t ready for that much excitement yet, but you also lived in two different apartments, so it was just easier

The rare times you would have sleepovers, the two of you would sit next to each other and pass out on the couch next to each other watching a movie <3

If Three was feelin’ extra affectionate, they’d lean their head on your shoulder or slump into you a little more than usual

Since Three doesn’t really talk much, you read her well through her body language (and she loves that you pick up on this too)

You can really tell when they like something by how much they’ll look at you or how bright their eyes will get

Sleepovers heal their inner child that never got to be a child

As time went on, and you guys got closer, she would start to use her words more with you, because they knew you were a safe space

“It’s okay.” Don’t get alarmed, Three wasn’t mad, they’re just very blunt! (they’re a very healthy person <3)

Buuuuuttt, to make up for it, you surprised them, and omgggggg BRO

You left the party early, explaining that you had something important to do

Sleepin’ w/ Three is honestly pretty normal at first, kinda just sticking to each other’s sides but enjoying the warmth

But,,,,as time goes on, they start letting you know that they want a lil more love

Will hug your torso from behind and sleep like that a lot (does it unconsciously too)

Loves holding hands when you go to bed, or at least having a limb touch one of hers

She likes to know that you’re there and safe when they go to sleep because they worry ab you man

TIME FOR A BREAK SQUIDKIDS AND OCTOTOTS

Nightmares and Comfort

Bruh I ain’t gonna lie to you they have nightmares about hurting you or losing you a lot

If they’re not that bad (like once every 2 weeks or so) they usually wake up a little startled, but not enough to cause a disturbance

But, if they’re really stressed from their work as Captain or from other things, they happen more frequently, which causes a lot of insomnia

The worst part is that Three is always trapped in her sanitized self with no way out

So not only is it extremely debilitating for themselves, it’s debilitating to have the thoughts of not wanting to hurt the one you love but literally having no power over it

These kinda nightmares definitely wake you up, because it’s one of the only times Three either gasps loudly or lets out a small scream

The first time it happened, she was so hesitant to let you in

They actually ran into the bathroom and wouldn’t come out because they were so afraid to let you see them like this

But also, looking at you hurt too much

She never wanted to or wants to hurt you, even in arguments

The next time it happened, you were right there again, and as to not overwhelm her, you held their hand and helped to calm them down

Three jolted awake, a loud gasp leaving their throat as they clutched their chest

You sat up, your heart pounding as you recognized the situation right away, “Hey, it’s okay.” 

With tears in their eyes, they took a breath, nodding as they tried to catch onto a calmer rhythm 

You have to be very matter-of-fact with them; don’t sugarcoat it

But man, that look of pure fear in their eyes...it really pains you to see that

Sometimes it’s more severe than other times, and usually when that happens she’ll cling onto you in a hug that practically kills you

Eventually opened up to you about the nightmare, and explained why it makes her feel so on edge

Has cried about it, almost had panic attacks, but what they greatly appreciate (and I mean really appreciate) is that you are always there

Will pass out in your arms listening to your heartbeat afterwards (knowing you are in fact alive comforts her)

If they’re going through the insomnia, you’ll hold them on your chest and rub their back to help them hopefully relax into sleep

Even if it doesn’t work, she’s so comfy and content

Now, if the roles are reversed, and you wake up upset or crying, Three kinda does the same

They’ll instantly shove you into a hug and hold your head with the back of their hand as you cry

Quietly asks you what’s wrong, and if you’re going through it, you might even feel the lump forming in their throat, because it truly pains her to know that you’re suffering too

Will definitely cry with you and will wipe away your tears

Three really loves you, and they’ll do anything to make sure you’re okay

Will kiss you goodnight every.single.night on the cheek, and every time they do, they kinda hesitate before they do and it’s so goddamn cute bro omg

The two of you have had many late night deep talks about your lives and who you both are, and it’s been an honor to have her open up that much to you and talk to you that much

You never told them, and they’ll similarly never tell you, but the two of you both check up on each other in the middle of the night when you’re sleeping to make sure you’re okay

Sometimes you’ll both feel a little smooch on your head or cheek in the middle of the night and can’t help but smile after settling down

Overall, a more serious post, but one of the best slow burn smooch piles ever <3

Okay, so, IDK if you saw it, but I finally posted part one of Knock At The Cabin, and I’m working on parts 2 & 3. As you know, it’s based on one of your Stranger Prompts, but it’s a departure from my usual style (in a good and challenging way), so I’ve been quite nervous about it. I’m pleased with how it’s going so far, although I don’t think I’ll tackle another ‘mystery’ type series for some time because the amount of mental energy required to retain what pieces of plot have been or have yet to be revealed is inteeeeennnssseeee…. 😆 (and btw, if I wasn’t already so much of a Betty Simp, I’d be even more impressed and awed by all of your series, no lie)

The Biology Tutor Lesson 3 is always ongoing, and is coming along nicely. It’s a special one, so I don’t want to rush it. But *shh* in the meantime I have another sneaky Extra Credits module which is almost ready to go 🤫😉

In my ‘so close to posting, but still obsessing over’ drafts I have another contribution for the @steddiemicrofic May prompt ‘top’, which is my first attempt at “proper” Steddie smut (I adore these short challenges for allowing me to practice writing Steddie!). Plus a D&D themed ‘getting together’ oneshot for Eddiexreader. There’s a bit in the middle of this one where it doesn’t quite flow properly, so I’ve left it for a while to see if a fresh reread will help.

And currently shoulder-barging literally everything else out of the way in my brain is a cheeky (okay, filthy) SteddiexMILF!reader oneshot idea that came to me on Sunday - I’m neither a mum nor am I in the US, so who knows why it’s ended up being so appropriately timed 😄

summary: After your crash, you and Max spent some deserved time-out in Portugal. And under the Portuegese sun and warmth, the two of you had slowly warmed up to each other. The next months you spend growing together even closer.

notes: The first part was written inspired by a prompt saying: one-sided rivalry where one of them wants fierce competition and the other one is just “eh? what the hell is wrong with this person?” Since we love ourselves some good enemies to lovers, I really wanted to write this. Day Eleven – Thursday

After your kiss you had stayed in the water for a bit, before you walked back to your house, wrapped in your towels, Max´ arm around you. Both of you had changed into cozy clothes and you sat on the porch watching the stars until you were both tired.

You were about to go to sleep in your bed, when Max showed up in the door, nervous. “Can I stay with you tonight?” You smiled and he crawled into the bed next to you. He immediately pulled you into his arms and you cuddled the whole night.

When you woke up, Max was already awake, looking at you. You smiled at the boy and a sudden wave of happiness hit you. “What´s up, Schatje?” You sighed content. “I am just very happy.” Max smiled back at you. “Me too”, he said and pulled you in for a kiss.

A few hours later you are in the plane on your way to next race. You spent most of the flight sleeping on Max´ shoulder, as you wanted to get in as much rest as possible. He didn’t mind, he actually enjoyed it a lot. You made him feel safe and just all around happy.

You arrived at your destination around midday. You said your preliminary goodbyes at the airport and decided that you would travel to the hotel separately. While you had let your fans and the world know that you were now friends, you were not quite ready to tell anyone about the next step in your interpersonal relationship.

The love between the two of you was still very much blooming, and you wanted to take it slow. Just a little over a week ago you and your teammate had engaged in an enmity - even though it had been one-sided - it had still been there. Furthermore, both of you had to catch up with your respective media teams and other personnel, so that you would be best prepared for the race. You also had to meet the team doctor for a final checkup to see if you were okay to drive again. Once he cleared you for the race, you started your preparation as well.

Whenever you could, you texted Max. Interaction between the two of you in the Red Bull Garage were friendly, but due to the busy surroundings rare anyway. Neither of you landed a podium that weekend, which made you feel a bit bummed, but since you were generally happy, it didn’t matter that much. The team went out for dinner on Sunday and Christian Horner held a little speech about how happy he was that his two champions had finally made peace with each other. You smiled and sent a text to Max. “If only he knew…” Max looked at you and grinned.

The summer break

Max and you had to put your date plans on hold until the summer break. In between races, both of you either went home or visited your families – which for you was the same, but for Max that meant travelling in between Monaco and the Netherlands. Yet, you stayed in close contact, texting back and forth and facetiming almost every day. You didn’t put a label on it yet, you just enjoyed talking to each other and getting to know each other better.

However, you had enough to do in between the races as well. Not only did you have to focus on your training, you were also organizing your move to Monaco. In recent years it had become a trend for the drivers to move to that country, so when you signed a contract over two years with Red Bull and delivered results good enough that you were sure you would have a place for the next couple of seasons, you had started to look at apartments in Monaco. You hadn’t told anyone except for Charles, who helped you with all the documentation and everything generally. You were glad to call him your friend.

When summer break rolled around, you and Max had finally managed to find a day and time for a date. You had decided to meet in Monaco, as you wanted to check out an apartment anyway. The pictures had looked amazing, more like a dream and it felt surreal that you were actually able to afford such a place.

Max had booked you a private booth in an exclusive restaurant on the waterfront, where you could be sure that no one saw you. Especially because Max had managed to convince the owner to let you enter the restaurant through the backdoor. It felt like you were part of a spy movie, and you couldn’t help but grin to yourself as you entered the restaurant.

Max was already sitting at your table, and when he saw you, his whole face lit up. He practically jumped off his chair and rushed over to engulf you in a bone crushing hug. You didn’t mind though, burying your face in the crook of his neck. You could feel him kissing the top of your head and you practically melted.

A few minutes later, you were seated as well. “I missed you”, Max said as he held your hands and gently stroked your skin with his thumbs. “Tell me about it!”, you answered and smiled at the man, “What have you been up to?” “I spent lots of time with my family and friends.” “That sounds very nice!” Max smiled at you. “It was, but I would have loved to spend more time with you!”

The two of you engaged in a conversation over dinner and dessert and a glass of wine. After a couple of hours which went by like nothing, Max suggested that the two of you could go for a walk. After all, it was dark now, and the possibility of the two of you being seen together was rather small. You walked out of the restaurant and onto the rather empty streets of Monaco. Max took you to the harbor. You had walked in silence for a bit, just enjoying each others company.

Until Max started to speak again. “I really missed you terribly, y/n. And I thought about you, us, a lot. I want to get to know you, all of you. But I feel like during the season, between the races, there is not enough time for that…” You frowned at his words. For a moment you were afraid that he was going to say that it wasn’t going to work.

“I thought about it a lot, and I wanted to tell you that I want to see where this with us is going. I want to put all the effort in I can, fuck, I will even fly to wherever you are in between the races to spend time with you. I want to commit to this, to us, because I realized I am in love with you.” You smiled at him, tears in your eyes at his confession. “I feel the same, Max. I want this to work out.”, you looked at the man, “And I think I have good news for you.”

He looked at you in anticipation. “I am currently planning my move to Monaco, actually!” Max was silent for a moment, then he engulfed you in a hug, lifted you off your feet and spun you around one time. You shrieked because he scared you, and then you laughed. He put you back on your feet, but he kept you in his arms. His hands rested on your hips, and you looked up to him. You hadn’t seen him this happy in a while. “That is great news, y/n. I didn’t think you could have made me happier, but you actually just did”, with that, he leaned forward and united his lips with yours.

After your date, you went to Max´ place, where you also stayed the night. In between the sheets, the two of you whispered more confessions to each other, growing together even closer. The next morning you met with Charles and went to look at the apartment, which was as nice as on the pictures. You signed the lease right there and then, and you were lucky that you could even move in as soon as next week. You sent Max a text and went out to lunch with Charles, were the two of you celebrated your upcoming move to Monaco. Afterwards, you sat in a café to organize the move, and in the evening, you met for dinner with Max to celebrate as well. He promised you all the help you needed, and you gladly accepted.

You moved the next weeks, your things from home being delivered and sat up in your new apartment. Yet, the new space was a lot bigger, so you had to go out and buy new furniture as well. And, after all, you were still a woman, and woman loved to go shopping for decoration. Max and Charles accompanied you, which was nice. And since you were now officially friends and Max and Charles got along as well, you weren’t so worried about anyone seeing you on something so trivial as shopping new furniture. You even posted a video of Max and Charles sweating as they were carrying a particularly heavy piece of furniture. You even persuaded them to take a picture of you sitting on a chair they carried, which you posted instantly.

You loved your fans and supporters and loved interacting with them. They made the hate comments bearable and never failed to make you smile. After you posted the pictures, the comments quickly flew in.

“Look at her, she is so pretty!”

“Hahaha I love her, she is literally so funny and her newly found friendship with Max is adorable. I am honestly just waiting for the two to announce that they are dating!”

“Wow, she looks like a queen sitting on a throne!”

Max sent you a screenshot of the last comment and wrote something to it. “It is true, you look like a queen – my queen!” You smiled at you phone, shot him a short smile as well, and then you went back to work. After you had loaded all the furniture, decorations, and pillows into the van you had rented, you drove to your apartment. At your apartment you were joined by Danny and his best friend who had kindly offered to help you out as well.

Once you were done, all of you sat in between boxes and furniture scattered in your apartment. It was exhausting enough to carry everything up, so you decided tomorrow was another day. Furthermore, you knew you had to use the summer break to rest as well. At some point, everyone went home, and you unpacked the first box before you head to bed.

You woke up to your phone ringing next morning. You groaned and rolled over to pick up. “Hello?”, you said, still sleepy. “Good morning!”, Max happy voice sounded from the phone, “Get ready, I will pick you up in an hour, I have a surprise for you. Pack a swimming suit though.” With that, he hung up and you groaned.

You got up soon after and an hour later Max was in front of your door. You had decided to just wear your bikini straight up, as well as the dress from Portugal. “You look beautiful, schatje.” “Thanks Max!” He pulled you in a kiss. “So, what are we doing today?”, you asked curiously. He grinned at you: “Just wait and see.”

Thirty minutes later you ended up standing on a yacht. You looked at the ocean in awe as the shoreline got smaller and smaller by the second. Max approached you from behind, wrapping his arms around your torso. “Never took you for the romantic type, Mister Verstappen.” “Well, I have just never had someone that deserved being treated like this until I met you.” You blushed at his words.

The two of you spent the day sunbathing, jumping into the ocean (and conjuring the weirdest figures you could come up with) and just enjoying spending time together. When the sun set, the crew brought out dinner, and Max and you sat down at the table. The dinner was spent laughing and talking.

After you finished, you and Max laid down on the deck to watch the stars. “Look, a shooting star!”, you exclaimed, “Make a wish!” Max let out a deep chuckled. “There is only one more thing I could wish for…”, he said. “Don’t say it, or it won´t come true!” “I will take the chance. Y/n, would you be my girlfriend?”

The day on the yacht had been the day you and Max had officially – at last for the two of you – become a couple. You had laid awake most of the nights talking about your relationship. Both of you agreed to keep it a secret – for now at least. You decided to only tell your family, as you knew you could trust them.

Last race of the season

The second part of the season had gone well for both of you. While it was already clear that Lewis would be become world champion, you were more than ready for the last race. You had managed to secure the second place in the constructor’s championship and Max, and you had been on the podium few times.

But you were to yet win a race. You knew there was always the next season, but it would have been sweet to finish the last of the season as the fastest. You arrived in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, and as soon as you existed the airport, you were positively overwhelmed. Everything was huge, and you were greeted by hundred of fans. You waved, signed, and took pictures with everyone, in awe of how kind everyone was.

Of course, the reporters were there as always. “Y/n y/l/n, do you feel well prepared for the last race of the season.” You smiled at the camera. “I´d like to say so, yes. This season has been very good for Red Bull, and for both Max and I, but I would obviously love to end this season on especially good terms!” “As you already mentioned Max, ever since the two of you have ended your enmity, there have been rumors around of you two dating. Many fans said that they wished for it to happen rather sooner than later. Any comments on that?” You chuckled. “Well, I guess we will all have to see what the future holds. Have a good day!” The reporter nodded. “Thank you for your time, and good luck!”

Max came over to your room that night to stay with you. You were used to sneak around each other by now and you had discussed to finally come clear. You would inform your friends, which were mostly the other drivers, during the celebrations of the last race. You had come clean to your team about your relationship and albeit not being very happy about it in the beginning, they realized that it didn’t affect your work. The opposite if anything. The two of you pushed each other to the limits on track.

Before you really realized that you were now in Abu Dhabi, qualifying rolled around. Max secured third, you fifth, which was not what you hoped for, but decent. On Sunday, you were more excited than usually. Normally, you were calm, but today was different. It felt like your nerves were on fire. You felt like today was going to be a good race. You sneaked in a quick kiss in Max´ drivers room before you sat in your car. You drove to your position, and just like that, the race started.

Max had fallen behind you at some point, you didn’t know why or how, but he was currently in fourth position, while you were in second. You had driven like mad, pushing the cars to its limit. “Y/n, only few laps to go, and there is very little distance to Lewis in front. Push, y/n, push!” “Copy that!”, you said and drove faster than even. Somehow, you didn’t really know how, you managed to overtake Lewis in the last lap. When you saw the chequered flag, you started to cry tears of joy. You could hear your engineers cheer over the radio, Christian praising you, but it sounded far away.

When you parked the car, your team almost pulled you out of the car to celebrate your win. You took the flag of your home country and waved it around. You gave it to your dad and climbed onto the hood of your car. You cheered with both of your fists in the air before you jumped off the car into the crowd of your teammates. The pictures of this moment were later declared as one of the coolest celebrations by F1 fans around the world. This moment was just for you, but it got even better, when you found out that Max had landed third place, Lewis on second.

Your team rushed you to the podium shortly after, you could have sworn life had never been better. You looked over to Max who looked at you with so much love and proudness and your heart filled. People liked to say that he wasn’t a kind person, that his only objective was to win, no matter what. But he wasn’t like that – he was ambitious, of course, who wasn’t? But you could tell that he indulged you your win with all off his heart.

Modern Horizons 3 (Q2 2024)

90%. i cant wait frankly. modern horizons 1 and 2 feature some of my favorite magic cards ever and ive never been around for a modern horizons release so im just so excited. cant wait. big fan i bet there will be so many cool cards dude holy shit

Assassin's Creed (Q3 2024):

5%. i dont give a shit about assassins creed. i like the aesthetics of black flag i guess. this is a set with boosters and the cards will supposedly be modern legal(?) but they arent draftable so thats gonna be a shitshow when the boosters are overpriced and you cant even run limited events with them like MAT but like. at least MAT was awesome and had a bunch of banging cards and introduced cool deciduous mechanics to standard and gave us [[Rocco, Street Chef]]. all this is giving us is ezio or some shit

100%. i am so onboard with final fantasy dude i feel like it will be so fucking cool compared to like marvel or doctor who or whatever. final fantasy fits so perfectly with the other mtg planes and theres so many interesting things to pull from every game could be its own set so the fact that theres like so much shit there like its so exciting like i cant wait for this one. im gonna play final fantasy 6 with wrenny before it comes out so thats exciting too teehee ^_^

"Volleyball" 2025 (top down space opera set):

95%. a space opera could be so fucking cool. im worried theyll fumble the bag and make it really fucking star warsy and thats a truly terrifying thought but i have faith that we can get so see some more interesting and solemn parts of space in magic the gathering. i think a plane with fledgeling space operations and wild star littered frontiers would be so fucking sick and thats like maybe one of my dream sets. please dont fuck this one up

Part 3/3! I’m genuinely so excited about this competition cause drawing clothes and different types of fashion is really fun and it meant I got to do smth fun with Mikey which is cool because I feel like he gets the least focus out on my turtles (it might not seem like it from the first few episodes of Season 1 but looking at both the season 1 and 2 episode lists, yeah guy isn’t around the most, mostly due to the nature of the first major arc)

TEN GOOD THINGS IN 2023

1. New York / poetry readings — sometime around September, I got to feed an old, ostensibly impractical dream that’s emerged and lurked around since two decades ago. I wrote a poem and got to read it aloud in a wonderful art studio around Chelsea, teeming with so much talent and heart, thanks to the incredible @mirabile---visu. Thank you, dear friend, for giving my poem a home. I will remember this forever and hold dear to heart all the honest conversations we had over pizza, art and wine <3 you are such an inspiration and I can’t wait to see you again! Thank you too to the insanely talented @go-haywire for putting my words into print and allowing them to rest in a well-bound sanctuary — I carried it with me in New York as a lucky charm, and will always be eternally grateful for your generosity and faith.

2. New Zealand — sometime in April, in between jobs, I got to visit the amazing @tsaritsa in NZ, and it was two weeks of peace and great novelty, including but not limited to riding on a horse, feeding penguins, and donning on a firefighter costume! We also walked a ton and talked a lot and gazed upon a blanket of stars. Thank you for all your hospitality and love which I will never forget (and see you in 2024?!)

3. Other travels — I travelled a lot around Asia this year, for work and for fun! I got to see the cherry blossoms for the first time in my life with Japan with my partner. We also got to celebrate his birthday there, and it was an all around lovely trip; I’m really happy he got to have this break because he’s been truly working so hard in 2023. I also ushered in the new year with a dear friend in South Korea; the fireworks were nothing short of spectacular! We got a strawberry shortcake after and returned to our cute little apartment to just wind down and pen down our hopes for 2023 :) I also got to visit Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia for work, which were really exciting experiences!

4. Job switch — sometime in April, I was confronted with this HUGE dilemma of staying here in my hometown or moving to… a tax-free desert… the latter meant I’d at least be able to stay with my previous firm, but after a lot of coffees and deep consideration I decided it was better to move on to someplace else and stay put so I could spend more time with my partner. In hindsight it was probably the best decision I could’ve made; 2023 has been quite emotionally distressing for us and I would’ve hated to see him ensure all of that alone. I was mildly apprehensive at first about the switch, but I’ve been really blessed to have the most wonderful colleagues and bosses and am really excited to see what’s in store next :)

5. Meeting new friends, and in a similar vein, catching up and reuniting with old ones :) New York was a dream, in large part due to meeting some of the most luminous souls I’ve had the serendipitous pleasure of knowing during the pandemic—first over a screen, and then in person, over karaoke, and bagels, and coffee, and ice cream, and of course fried chicken LOL. @x-rainflame-x @roseofbattles @nightofnyx8 @beware-thegemini @thatisadamnfinecupofcoffee @annespelledwithane it was so so precious getting to meet you all in New York and I will cherish our time there together forever!

6. Learning a language—I try to learn at least one new word a day, and I’ve also been working on my Japanese since moving into a Japanese firm. It really helps as well to have colleagues that I can practice with—I took classes briefly in college but it sort of just drifted out of my memory after the pandemic because I didn’t speak it regularly, but now that I do it’s been super fun!

7. Getting into Spy x Family — and consequently, getting back into fic writing :) all of this is @nightofnyx8’s fault btw, now I have to pretend I like this stupid fake family a normal amount (when I’m just obsessed an unhealthy amount lmao)

8. Fraud/investigations work — this basically consumed the entirety of my Nov/Dec and there’s not much I can divulge about it (apart from the fact that it pretty much aged me by a decade) but… I felt like Loid Forger and it was fun being a spy for a month. the end

9. Dealing better with anxiety (?)—question mark because my progress is… questionable. On one hand I think I’ve gotten a lot better at regulating (or perhaps suppressing) a lot of associated feelings, but it still gets frightening on occasion when the dam breaks free without much prior warning. Regardless I think it’s a marked improvement from the countless menty bs back in college lmao. To be very frank, having a stable income of sorts has helped a great deal; in college I was constantly plagued with the fear of not having enough to purchase required materials or at times food, and it was just a lot to deal with. It felt like there was no room for failure because I only had myself to rely upon, and success was the only tenable avenue out of poverty, but being able to now obtain necessities and even additional wants has done wonders for my mental health. It’s true that money doesn’t happiness, and I spend a great deal of time daily mulling over capitalism and consumerism and the like, but I cannot deny the sense of security it affords.

10. And finally, falling deeper in love everyday :) it’s easy to think we know a great deal about someone, except we don’t. People may appear simple, but the truth is we’re all a work in progress, and by extension, a continuing story. I could read a million books and write a million poems, but beloved, believe me—you will always be my favourite.

Goodbye 2023, and hello 2024!

It's just...a really hard question, to be honest. First of all, I think it's totally normal to get excited to talk to a friend and think and overthink about friends.

So...I'm trying to think about the difference between romance and friendship (besides the fact that I, personally, am physical with the person I am romantic with.)

I think romance is...deeper? Like you just want to know everything about them. They make you laugh and giggle and you care so much about what they think and everything they do just makes you astounded. You want to make them happy all the time and you would to anything for them.

Also, it's important to address that love is different than infatuation. People who have crushes then to be a bit obsessive, but it can be more surface-level: usually based on like...looks and popularity. Love tends to be deeper. A connection.

okay considering my brain has actually REALLY latched onto this whole creepypasta au (to the point where i'm working on a game for it and genuinely i'm very excited to work on it and am actively kicking myself in the ass to finish it), i feel it apt to actually making a post to more thoroughly explain what this au is n what it's about.

what the hell is a scketti?

scketti is my take on the slender mansion craze, basically. making myself old here (/j), but i remember being SUPER into the mansion fandom back when i was in middle school, n with the recent resurgence of creepypasta content i started thinking...

the ben drowned arg has turned into a massive special interest of mine and i started wondering what all of the mansion lore could've looked liked with more elements from each respective story, so i got to work.

basically, scketti is the result of all this brainstorming. i'm taking canonical elements from both the literal lore of the original creepypasta stories and the fandom canon from all those years ago and putting them into a blender while also adding in my own ideas and thoughts. the name "scketti" comes from how i used to say "spaghetti" as a child, as a fun fact.

if there were gonna be a summary or cover blurb, it'd be something like this:

"Ben, a spirit residing in a haunted copy of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, awakens one evening in a strange forest with even stranger beings in it. How did he get here? Who are these people? And... why is the world suddenly threatening to spiral into chaos? Ben has accidentally found himself in a whirlpool of a battle between the physical and the metaphysical, and he may be the key to the eye of the storm."

or smthn like that! i HIGHLY recommend that anyone wanting to get into scketti be at least familiar w the common creepypasta lore n the lore of the arg itself (which spans more than the first haunted cartridge arc), but it's not necessary to. i plan to explain all the necessary nitty gritty details in the game itself, and i don't wanna accidentally spoil anything! in my humble opinion i'm really enjoying working with this au and shaping it into smthn its own :3

once summer told me she thought george was the meanest, I went with sap with the lee bc I hc both of them with horribly sensitive thighs, so it was always gonna be between snf since the target spot I had in mind....was thighs (gee I wonder why???????)

after that I kind of blacked out and wrote it. It was done pretty quickly, like I've mentioned before I'm way more motivated to finish something when it's targeted at someone else! (: it's just more fun and it doesn't really feel like I'm pressured to finish it or anything bc I want to sooooo bad anyways! and like I did with my other fics targeted at summer (yes there are multiple! :D) I just included things I knew got to her, and bam, good reactions!
