It's an interesting idea, that the constant growing was affecting Hank's mental state. Also, it feels believable to me. I would think the constant physical changes of growing and shrinking would be bad for anybody in ways both mental and physical. I figure lowbloods definitely get hassled more than highbloods, and usually by higher castes than themselves. I see the rounds of SWK ate people and it's one of the things that is up on the list of things that whoever was in charge of deciding who would be gods that made them go, "Yep, prime trickster god material", when they layed eyes on SWK.

Going to rip the bandage off, but no, he really didn't eat humans, in the novel he had the ability to bring souls back from hell just by breathing, which only people who never consume flesh, human or animal could do, which is a dead give away he was just lying. Plus, the fact he can't even digest cooked vegetables, so meat is definitely out of the picture completely and doesn't even know what common animals used for meat taste like.

So, I know some of you are wandering why would he lie about it. First idea is he just did it to fuck with tripitaka and his brothers or the second is maybe he did it to fool them into thinking he's more devious than he actually is to create some more cooperation, since they are known not to listen to him. But, yeah that's my take on it.
