JURASSIC PARK 1993
Yeah, but, John, if The Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists.

Hollywood and Elm Part 4 - A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child (1989)

We are all products of our circumstances, sure genetics can play a helping part, but some argue that nurture, more than nature, can end up scaring your bloodline for a long time to come. In 1989, with the 1990s on the horizon, a certain sharp-clawed killer saw off the decade with a fresh batch of victims, and possibly a new body to stalk the town of Springwood with. In A Nightmare on Elm Street…

DAY 122: He’s Credited as “Volunteer Boy”
It all started with this video:
That’s “Lay It Down” by 80′s buttrockers Ratt.
(In the 80′s, dressing like a male prostitute, while posing for a photo in a sketchy men’s bathroom was somehow the OPPOSITE of gay.)
Well, I haven’t seen the video for “Lay It Down” in a lonnnnnnnng time.
And besides regretting shots like THIS
& THIS in it,
I kind of regret that Chucko the Clown didn’t work into Ratt’s video storylines from that point on.
So many metal bands back then had wicked, creepy mascots thanks to Iron Maiden’s initial salvos with Eddie.
Not saying Ratt is even in the same league as Maiden, but I really think Chucko could’ve at least been Ratt’s answer to - I don’t know - ZZ Top’s car?
Maybe I’m wanting too much for a band whose cover had more going for it than the music inside.
In other words, I’m gonna go on record as saying that even adding the night terror-filled appearance of Chucko couldn’t have staved off the inevitable.
Oh, I also regret that I never made the connection that the kid in this fucked-up video
was also THIS kid in “Jurassic Park.”
You’re welcome, Internet.

You know what I'd like to be in the next Jurassic Park/World/Whatever movie? Since Sam Neill's in it again? I'd like him to meet an enthusiastic younger palaeontologist who says, "Dr Grant, I want to thank you, you got me into palaeontology when I was a kid." And Alan, rather pleased, says, "Oh, did you attend one of my lectures?" And the younger scientist says, "No, my parents dragged me along to a dig in the Montana badlands. I couldn't see anything exciting in dusty rocks and bones and I was bored and grouchy and rude. You took the time to talk to me one-on-one and told me a story about velociraptors hunting that brought it all to life! I was hooked! Thanks, man!"
