A pseudomorph specimen of the so-called "glendonites" from the White Sea, Russia. These specimens start out as ikaite (calcite but with extra water molecules). When ikaite reaches a temperature above 8°C (46°F), it changes/morphs into calcite. Ikaite is currently a contestant in the Twitter @Mineralcup (March Madness brackets for mineral nerds).

"Little Predator"
Lucernaria quadricornis (Stauromedusae), a stalked jellyfish, photographed beneath the ice of the White Sea in Russia – the only freezing sea in Europe. The green colour of the water is a sign of spring as algae grows.
