ATEEZ Scorpio Analysis

Hello and welcome to quite possibly the silliest post I’ve made to date! I’ve spoken at length about Ateez and the relationship with their Scorpio placements, but for whatever reason, I wish to rank them and find the chiefest Scorpio amongst them. So without further ado, let’s get into it!

Disclaimer: As per usual, traditional astrology and rulership applies. This post especially is just for fun. If you think I’m wrong, feel free to argue in the askbox.

Pre-Game:

So first, I’ll explain the how of the game. We’re going to be measuring the dominance of the three major components the rulership of Scorpio: Planet (Mars), Element (Water), and Modality (Fixed). We’ll be using the very convenient Dominants tab from the Natal Charts available on astro-seek to get our base numbers and weight them accordingly. I did my best to find a “fair” way to account for everything, but there’s a reason they say “lies, damn lies, and statistics”.

Here’s what the table I’m working with looks like, using Ateez’s group natal chart as an example:

I’ve generated one for each of the members, but they're not included with this post so as to not clog up the view. The website itself explains each column and how they come up with the numbers, but in short, significance is given to each planet based on where it is, if it’s being ruled by a sign of rulership/exaltation/etc, whether its in a house of corresponding rulership… we will be ignoring aspects for this, as some of the birth times we have are approximations, which can lead to incorrect aspect degrees..

For scoring, planets will be weighted at 40% of the total, with element and modality each being worth 30%.

As a refresher for those who don’t keep this information in their brains, here are the Scorpio placements between members:

Hongjoong: Sun and Venus

Yunho: Mars and Rising

San and Mingi: Mars

Wooyoung: Mercury

Jongho: Mercury and Venus

Yeosang and Seonghwa have none, but they have quite a bit of Mars and Water influence, so don’t write them off just yet!

**I am operating this under the assumption that Jongho is a Taurus Rising. I’ll address it more at the end, but ultimately, there wasn’t a huge difference between my top 3 guesses and his final score, so I just ran this with the one.

Round 1: Planets

Who has the most outright Mars influence? Well, this one should come as no shocker:

Yunho and Seonghwa are very close point total wise, but for Yunho, his Scorpio Mars in the first house is his strongest placement by a margin of 4 points (his Taurus Venus coming in second at 10 points), Despite all of his Aries Mars influence clocking 13 points, Seonghwa’s Aries Sun and Cancer Moon are also weighty factors in his totals at 12 points apiece, bumping his point total up, but his percentage down.. San’s Scorpio Mars is actually tied for influence with his Leo Mercury, since it’s ruling his ascendant.

Mingi’s Scorpio Mars is tied for second in his dominant planets with his Leo Sun, but both are overshadowed by his Cancer moon by a mere point. Wooyoung actually has all of 9 points, but as it turns out, his Venus in Libra in the first weighs in at a whopping 18 points (the most points of any member, causing his Mars to only rank 3rd in his dominant planets. Hongjoong’s Jupiter in Pisces is actually doing a lot of the heavy lifting in his influence, but his Scorpio Sun and Mars in Virgo help keep him from falling into last. Finally, Yeosang is bringing up the rear with 6 points being carried by his Aries Ascendant placement

All in all, every member of Ateez has Mars as no less than their 3rd place influencing planet, which is honestly quite impressive.

Round 2: Elements

Water placements! We’re looking at Scorpio, Pisces, and Cancer. No crazy weighing this time, we’re just checking to see who has the most water in their chart.

Most of these rankings are being carried by the plethora of Cancer Moons (Mingi, Seonghwa, and Yeosang), with Hongjoong getting a chance to shine by virtue of his Scorpio Sun/Venus and Pisces Jupiter. Almost everyone actually has water as their top element or is tied for top, with San and Wooyoung being Earth/Water and Air/Water

... except Seonghwa, who despite getting second place, is strictly fire dominant.

(And now I’m laughing because a whole bunch of water dominants debuted with a pirate concept 😂)

Round 3: Modality

Easy peasy, we’re looking for fixed signs in the natal placements + ascendant. For a refresher, these are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius.

San’s Leo and Taurus placements clench the win for San in this category, with 5 placements out of 8 being fixed, compared to Yunho and Mingi’s four, though all 3 are fixed dominant. Meanwhile, this is where Seonghwa finally gets penalized for all of his Aries/Cancer energy, as his only fixed placement is his Aquarius Venus. Hongjoong and Jongho both have predominantly Mutable placements, while Wooyoung, Yeosang, and Seonghwa have significant Cardinal energy.

A note on Signature Signs:

If you take the natal 7 plus ascendant and calculate the most modalities and elements (not the same way as the Round 2), some people will end up with a signature sign. Of the Ateez members, 5/6 out of 8 (Jongho being a maybe) actually manage to snag one:

Hongjoong has a Pisces Signature (3 Water + 4 Mutable)

Seonghwa and Yeosang both have Aries Signatures (4 Fire+5 Cardinal and 3 Fire+5 Cardinal respectively).

Yunho has a Scorpio Signature (3 Water+4 Fixed),

San has a Taurus Signature (3 Earth + 5 Fixed)

Jongho (w/ an assumed Taurus Rising,) is a Gemini Signature (3 Air + 3 Mutable).

Mingi and Wooyoung both have ties in their elements, with a 3/3 split on Earth/Water for Mingi, and 2/2/2/2 for Wooyoung across all elements.

I couldn’t figure out how to weigh Yunho's bonus Scorpio Signature into this contest, but in the end it didn’t matter…Because the grand Scorpio of Ateez is still Yunho

Final Scores:

Yunho was the only member to get Top 3 in all 3 rounds of scoring, and really his Mars strength from round 1 could not be surpassed. In my attempt to make this fair, I tried different ways of weighing this (33% even, 50/30/20, etc.) and Yunho comes out on top every time. But once again, Scorpio Rising ruled by a Scorpio in Mars- was there ever any doubt?

By this weighting, Mingi and San tie, but if you switch to 50/30/20 Mingi squeaks out above San, while 50/25/25 has San edge out Mingi. Ultimately I’m fine with the weighting I landed at, as I think it’s pretty clear that these 3 are leagues ahead of the rest. Hongjoong and Seonghwa will actually tie in 50/30/20, but for the most part Hongjoong sits above Seonghwa. Meanwhile Wooyoung never clears last place, with Jongho and Yeosang sitting somewhere above him.

Final Tidbits:

-Now, as previously stated, a Taurus Rising for Jongho is just a guess, but with the exception of a Scorpio Rising (which I ranked at 5/12 for likelihood), the top 3 rising options sit at about the same place in the chart, so I went ahead and kept Jongho on here. I have all 4 on my master document that I will post at the end

-If you run Ateez’s group natal chart against all the members, it often will rank even higher than Yunho, depending on the weighting.

-I’ve included my own Scorpio ranking in the master document. Do with that as you will.

with his sun in sagittarius, wooyoung is a social, active and optimistic individual. he hates feeling caged in or restricted in any way and loves speaking his mind, while still remainig respectful and without being impolite. wooyoung sees the bright side of life and his attitude easily influences those around him. (people with sun in sagittarius are also known to talk too much/a lot.) with his sun in the 3rd house, wooyoung has a talent for communication and socialising. he manages to express himself well and is able to stay optimistic, even in unfortunate situations.

✧ cancer moon in the 10th house

WOOYOUNG´S RELATIONSHIP OBSERVATIONS - PART II

Hello everyone, it's been awhile since my last post. Life is happening and as I'm really excited and happy about it, I was feeling sad and guilty to not being around here anymore. So, I'm trying to take it easy and to start over one step at a time, so I'm not going to do a big post rn,ok? :) Well,this one should've been about his ideal type, but them I realized that I was talking more about his energy in the relationship and it was more focused on him than in his significant other lol so why not a part II right?! Sagittarius Sun, Cancer Moon, Scorpio Mercury, Libra Venus, Capricorn Mars

-> The mixture between his Sun and Venus makes me think he would love someone who can be flirty and who can make him laugh. Someone who's intelligent, witty and a cheeky sense of humor is something that he could be attract to;

-> He's a Libra Venus, so having sense of style it's important here too. Elegance meets effortless + casual style it's more what can draw the attention here;

-> Emotionally open, warm and who enjoys intimacy. You can't be someone who avoids a real connection here, if is someone who wants to make Wooyoung feels the connection towards them, they must be open about things, you can't be a coward, you gotta jump towards yours feelings and embrace it. I can see this crazy mixture here going on since he's a Sag Sun, Cancer Moon and a Libra Venus and Scorpio Mercury.

Aries Venus:

Pisces Venus:

I am a Pisces Venus and let me tell you the LIMERENCE we experience!!! Will ask questions about your personal life and remember certain details about you. Will do all they can to make you feel extra special and a top priority.

Hyunjin from Stray Kids is a Pisces Venus and I've noticed he always tries his best to make Stays and his members as comfortable as possible around him.

If his birthtime is exact, Yunho also has intercepted 4H. It can be translated as lacking familial/parental support. However he does have a strong ancestral connection, which possibly means that his career & reputation is linked with karmic clearing & such.

This is only based on degree theory & interception theory.

Yeosang | Fama in Virgo 6H (24°)

Hardworking, pays a lot attention to detail.

Takes extra care of his fitness & health.

Can be very particular about things.

Can be known as spirirtual/mysterious, head in the clouds, not so present.

San seems to have a specific image/concept he wanted to project.

Anaretic degree: ability to master the Virgo qualities. It might be something familiar and the energy is much easier to direct.

Mingi | Fama in Libra 9H / 11H (6°) - not sure what time Mingi was born, either 12 pm or 4 pm (please lmk which one is correct tysm)

Natural charm and beauty.

Well-liked in foreign land/culture or internet.

May be indecisive.

Travel, media, and exploration will help him (9H), or rather technology and his friend group (11H).

Wooyoung | Fama in Scorpio 1H-2H cusp (10°)

I've always been curious about these 2. They're so interesting.

Wooyoung - Yeosang

Sun trine Venus (4°) / Venus trine Sun (5°) - Sag sun trines Leo venus / Libra venus trine Gemini sun... As their Suns trine each other's Venus signs, they provide support for the other in many ways in order to help each other shine.

Moon conjunct Moon (2°) - Both have Cancer moons that fall into each other's houses (3rd and 9th). This placement often indicates a very close and lifelong friendship since they understand and connect with each other deeply on an emotional level. With Woo's moon in Yeo's 3rd, they are comfortable expressing themselves to each other. Their words are comforting to each other. With Yeo's moon in Woo's 9th, Yeo may idealize Woo a lot. Mars square Mars (4°) - A power struggle. Especially between Capricorn Mars and Libra Mars - Capricorn is generally a lot more assertive and "tougher" compared to Libra (detriment in Mars), so Wooyoung can be forceful and pushy. The both of them feel comfortable in communication with each other. Venus in 7th means the two complement each other well. Their personalities blend with each other, both are supportive and uplifting of the other.

Jupiter and Saturn in 11th - Woo's Jupiter in Yeo's 11th helps Yeo's confidence (Jupiter = expansion and growth). Yeo is a bit shy and quiet and Woo is the opposite, so he can help Yeo be a bit more social or just be more outspoken in general. Saturn in 11th can indicate long term friendship, deep commitment. The two find each other reliable and dependable. Wooyoung may help Yeosang with forming good friendships.

Jupiter and Saturn in 7th - Jupiter in 7th is focused on common interests and sharing several life aspects. Saturn in 7th can indicate long term bond. Jung Wooyoung Natal Chart

Finally back from Korea. I went, I saw, I bought skincare.

Unfortunately, this is the last of the Ateez series until we get Jongho’s birth time (I’m begging- please do a birthday live and drop a time, sweet injured gummy bear. I wish to learn your secrets). I hope everyone enjoys this, and sorry for taking forever to get this out.

Full Disclaimer: Most of my knowledge is by traditional astrology, which involves but is not limited to: using whole signs, excluding Uranus-Pluto for natal charts, different sign rulers, and different planetary interpretations. Astrology is subjective by nature; I do not think my way is best, simply that this is the version of interpretation that makes the most sense to me. Well, we’ve got an easy starting point with Wooyoung- he’s a Libra Rising being ruled by a Venus in Libra. Libra is one of what I consider the top 4 “artsy” placements, the other 3 being Pisces, Leo, and Cancer. Having a chart ruler and rising here definitely makes him a natural performer. Libra is also a very fair sign; while Wooyoung has a reputation for being Ateez’s problem child, he balances this with being rather stern on proper respect (more on that later), helped by that Libra placement. This may also make him bad with time management, however, as I’ve found Libra Risings to have difficulties with being chronically late (unless they have heavy Saturn balancing that out). Also with this placement comes a desire to be surrounded by people. Feeling lonely is very hard for someone with his placements (and I, like many, refuse to think that Wooyoung is an introvert), and I think, somewhat negatively, he thrives off of external validation.

(it also makes him quite attractive, but we been knew that)

The wild child-ness, however, is definitely spawned largely by his Sagittarius Sun / Mercury Scorpio combo. Interesting, Sagittarius is his only mutable sign in his natal chart, but seeing as it’s a fire sign, it’s still ~doing the most~. Now, personal bias on this one, but I love a fire element in the 3rd house- it makes its natives quite quick mentally. Paired with his Mercury in Scorpio, Wooyoung is both sharp and sharp-tongued. Not mean necessarily, because that Sun in the third does make him quite social (a nice combo with the Libra rising), so it helps curb the Mercury from being too malicious. Also, his Mercury is trining his Moon in Cancer, which helps him to understand people well. So as long as he thinks you’re not being malicious, he’ll probably respect that energy….However, between the scales of Libra and Scorpio, he’s definitely got his own sense of justice going, and it doesn’t surprise me that he’s been known to call people out.

Speaking of his Moon in Cancer, it’s sitting in the 10th house (like San!) conjunct his midheaven (also like San), which is a good placement for parents (anyone else thinking of San?). I will not get over how cute they were on Return of Superman, okay? And while we’re on the topic of parentage, Wooyoung’s got a rather unpleasant Mars in Capricorn in his 4th house. The problem isn’t the Mars itself, as it’s actually an exalted placement. But Mars in the 4th house can go a few ways- strife at home, conservative values, possessiveness of family/family life…

An aside: I’ve tried to avoid using the word “possessive” when doing these write ups (which is hard with SO MUCH SCORPIO), as I think the word gets a bit romanticized especially when it comes to relationships, so please note that I mean it in a negative connotation here.

I think at a minimum, Wooyoung’s mentality towards family dynamics can be quite traditional because of this placement, especially when you factor in his Saturn in Taurus. With it sitting opposite his Mercury, it can cause him to be quite conservative in his thinking. But lest ye be afraid of him being too judgmental, I think these are self limitations rather than wholly worldview beliefs. His Jupiter in Aries in the 7th house once again brings good spirit and great luck to his interpersonal relationships, which I don’t think would be the case if he were as rigid with others as he is with himself.

Final thoughts: I think Wooyoung appears at first to be impulsive and brash, but I think there’s quite a bit of discipline and good will in his chart. The dynamics of his chart aren’t as strongly opposed as I think they could be, but he’s definitely got some extremes in him. When he’s hard, he’s inflexible, but when he’s soft, he’s super squishy.

hello, pile 1! wow, right off the bat you guys are giving me such boss energy. let me start by saying your future studies will be great, okay? you may have fire in your chart, with the queen of wands, but either way, i just see you living it up. having a stable routine, chasing after your goals, making sure you are putting effort into what you do, and getting recognition for it! it honestly surprises me because it seems like you're enjoying it very much (and, as a person going through finals rn, i can not relate). whether you're starting a new school year or a new semester, i see you going in with a whole new flare. just be careful of someone trying to steal your credit, or copying off your notes. definitely make sure you are being credited for your work, and start standing up for yourself!

now pile 1, the biggest message i see here is have! a! schedule! that matches your rhythm and what you want to achieve, but at the same time, take breaks. for as long as you need to. humans weren't made for hustle culture, love, we were made to hunt once a day and then bask in the sunlight until the sun goes down. you can't control what your body needs, so try to accommodate it by taking breaks, making sure you're having fun and nurturing yourself, having a nice diet and drinking water. overworking yourself will only lead to exhaustion and that never ends well for anybody. remember what j-hope said: a professional should also know how to pace themselves!

i think taking up some extra activities that you enjoy will really help you on your journey, pile 1. whether that is sports, art, volunteering, doing something that makes you feel good inside and breaks from your continuous studying will help lots! if you're one of those people who feel guilty if they aren't on their feet, try to pick up a job or so something you enjoy that will bring you profit. no matter what, don't get too drunk on your academic glory, or you may risk getting hurt. again, overworking yourself isn't sexy, darling. learn to love doing things other than studying, or things that will bring you satisfaction, and a proud smile. don't really seek approval from others, just try to focus on what you like to spend time on, and what makes you happy.

well, pile 1. you can do pretty much anything lol. like, if you have the drive and passion for it, you can do it even if it's something as difficult as becoming an astronaut or working for nasa. however, if i have to narrow it down, being a detective or a private investigator popped in my head first. somewhere where you can use your intellect, intuition, and knowledge of human relationships. you could also do great in marketing and advertisement, culinary school, interior design, dance, any kind of sport, and writing. i don't think the key here is what you should study, but more so what you want to study. what fills you with excitement and makes you all jittery. choose that, no matter what. also don't be afraid to put yourself out there, especially if you want to perform! hello, pile 2! are you doing alright? i feel like your future studies will find you or will lead you to not be in the best place, emotionally especially. maybe you feel overworked and burnt out, or you have other issues affecting your mental health. whatever this may be, it's causing you to feel like you're losing balance, or like your wishes are not coming true the way you want them to be. I'm also sensing that for some of you, this is the period when you're graduating and you feel the weight of other people's expectations and your workload a lot more than before. for some, you may have envisioned life to be going differently by that time and you'll be too consumed over "what if"s. even if the cards don't say so, please remember to take care of yourself first, because if you lose yourself you really will have nothing left.

hello, pile 3! i feel like your future studies will help you on your self discovery journey. there is a lot of the same cards shown both in the upright and reversed for you, and with the wheel of fortune it feels like a choose your path game. plato's allegory of the cave popped up in my head as well. you're working hard but it seems like you don't have one set direction, and there is a lot of paths you want to pursue. i genuinely don't feel like this energy is heavy as much as it is confusing. "there's so much i want to do, but so little time" vibes. and, if we go back to plato, maybe you have this blind belief that you're meant to follow one path academically, only to realise that your heart wants something else, or you're just really good at something different than what you're planning to pursue. i vote you give that a shot, when the time comes.

i don't know if it's a major, but genuinely consider astrology. with scorpio here i can't help but take the joke seriously. other than that, strength fell on the leo card, so something that puts you in the spotlight is great. make up artist and stylists also sound nice. other than that, mathematics, chemistry and physics (astrophysics, if you will) could definitely be your cup of tea. i actually don't know much about what majors you can have from them, but you get the point, I'm sure. whatever it is, i see you guys getting good money from it. good for you. don't be afraid to put yourself out there! especially if you're a singer that writes their own lyrics, or a dancer who choreographs their dances! you deserve to be seen, either way. good luck, darling <3

hello, pile 4! you guys seem to be networking! you will be having so many opportunities and doors opening up in front of you, and you'll possibly accomplish that by hanging around important people. if that's not the case, then your communication and cooperation with the people around you is going to be great. you may be struggling to pick a major or choose which path you want to follow. my advice for that is to look back at what you loved as a child, especially if you had a dream job for a while. figure out why that was your dream, and what that means for you now in case you have tried to move past it or burry it deep inside you. nothing is impossible, pile 4! you're holding the world in your hands and you will achieve anything you want, as long as you make the conscious effort to chase it.
