Drawing Hornet everyday until Silksong comes out - Day 365!
1 year! One whole year of daily doodles!!
Tumblr media
Honestly?? Idk how to feel, so much has happened since I first started this blog.
I guess I’ll just write what I’m thinking right now??
(Everything under the cut, this thing is longer than I expected)
A lot of this text probably isn’t going to make sense. I’m writing this at 1 am. If there’s any mistakes or errors that’s why. I’ll fix them in the morning maybe.
So like. This whole thing kinda started as a joke, I wasn’t intending to actually draw for a year straight lmao. Like I even used a completely different art style from my regular one that was simple, quick and intentionally dumb. Not that I’m upset by it, I’m actually quite proud of myself that I managed to stick to something for an entire year. That’s pretty unusual for me believe it or not. My original intention was to stop at maybe 20 days because I really wasn’t expecting for this blog to get as much love as it did.
So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so so much to everyone who has followed and supported this silly little idea I had, you guys are the biggest reason my experience has been so positive and worth it. (Sure it’s not original but I hope it’s at least been interesting!)
I’ve said this a few times now but I’ve mentioned wanting to take a break. I’ll admit that even though it’s been fun it’s still pretty tiring to keep up with this blog sometimes since some recent life events have made it so hard. After some thought, I’ve decided that I’ll likely take a break sometime in the coming months. Maybe toward day 400 or so. As of right now, things are at a lull so I’ve been okay enough mentally and physically to keep up this daily streak I think. Though this could change in an instant for whatever reason.
Overall I think my burnout has kind of gone away I think?? Or at least I’ve been reinvigorated recently after replaying a few runs of hk randomizer and steel soul. No promises it’ll stay away but I silly expect it to come in waves.
Ok but call me crazy or delusional or whatever, but my hopes are up that Silksong will release this year. (which means slowing down/not doing daily doodles yay) I genuinely believe big news is coming since I’ve been getting a lot of dreams lately about something happening with Silksong in March. Idk, I could be wrong but after doing this for a year I’m literally clinging onto anything right now lol
I’d obviously still make the occasional doodle or two when HKSS releases but not daily. This stuff is tough to keep up sometimes, I would never do daily posts like this again once it’s over
Oh yeah also I have an actual big drawing I’m still working on, expect that in sometime in the next few weeks I think!
Anyway, I can’t think of anything else to say right now so I guess that’s it for now!
Thanks so much and here’s to more doodles!

Buddy Daddies Drama 3
Miri: Trikyua torounto!
Kazuki: Huh?
Rei: Huh?
Miri: Ugh! Kazuki-papa! Rei-papa! Trikyua torounto!
Kazuki: Toriki? Toronto? Oh! So that izakaya is opening up a store overseas now, huh?
Rei: Which Izakaya?
Kazuki: Oh, you don't know about it, shut in? It's so cheap and good! Ah... now I want to eat yakitori.
Rei: Nice... I want tare flavor.
Kazuki: Huh? No, salt flavor. If you're drinking alcohol it has to be salt!
Rei: Well, I don't drink...
Miri: It's not yakitori! It's if you don't give me a treat I'll trick you!
Rei: Trick? ...Why?
Miri: I'm a monster! I'm scary!
Kazuki: OH! You mean trick or treat!
Miri: That's right! Trick or treat!
Rei: Is that a secret phrase for a discount?
Kazuki: Mmm, just forget about the izakaya for now.
Kazuki: I see! So it's almost halloween? Oh right, I feel like we got a flier from Anna-sensei saying something about halloween... Umm... I think it was around here...
*searches for flier and pulls it out*
Kazuki: Oh here it is! Umm, let's see... "Once again our preschool is holding a parent and child halloween event with the chamber of commerce."
Rei: A parent and child event?
Miri: I want to be the best monster!
********************
Kyuutarou: I believe that Miri's preschool and the chamber of commerce hold this halloween event every year.
Kazuki: Hmm. I had no idea!
Rei: Kyuu-chan, what do the parents and children that participate do?
Kyuutarou: The parents take the kids dressed in costumes around to the different shops on main street. Then they normally say-
Miri: Trick or Treat!! If you don't give me a treat I'll trick you!
Kyuutarou: Oh, so scary! Here you go, a treat.
Miri: Yay! Thank you! *Eats candy and squeals in delight*
Kyuutarou: That's how they get treats. Though that's a bit too simple of an example. The children have to trick the adults in safe ways and then the adults give them treats. The parents escort them as they do that.
Rei: I see.
Kazuki: So... Miri wants to be the best monster at that event...?
Miri: Yeah! I was talking with Taiga-kun at preschool and...
Kazuki: Taiga-kun!? The kid who was with you at the zoo? Huh? What is this? Are you talking with Taiga-kun all the time now? I haven't heard about that...!
Rei: Kazuki... your eyes are scary.
Kyuutarou: And what you're saying and doing is cringy.
Kazuki: Guh, it's fine, isn't it? I'm a first year father so I'm sensitive!
Kyuutarou: Enough, just listen to what Miri is saying.
Miri: Listen to me!
Kazuki: Oh, sorry, Miri. So...? What were you talking about with Taiga-kun?
Miri: Taiga-kun and the other boys, they said if someone scares a lot of adults they'll get a lot of candy so they're having a competition to see who can be the best monster and get a whole bunch of candy! I'm gonna compete too!
Rei: Kazuki, translate.
Kazuki: Uh... well... all I got was she wants to compete...
Kyuutarou: In this event they get more candy depending on the quality of their costumes and tricks. So in other words, it's a competition to see who can get the most candy from scaring the adults, isn't it?
Kazuki: I see... it does seem like the type of competition that brat would come up with.
Rei: She can get a lot of candy, huh? Miri...
Miri: What?
Rei: If you get a lot of candy would you share it with me?
Miri: Ehh...?
Kazuki: Hey! Don't mooch off a child!
Rei: Ever since Miri got here all the candy has disappeared from our place.
Kazuki: Yeah, for Miri's health. Because if I left them around, you and Miri would just eat them all and not eat dinner.
Rei: Sometimes I just want to stuff myself with them like I used to.
Kazuki: Are you a kid?
Kyuutarou: They're already graduated, but the best monster from last year got enough candy to last 3 months.
Rei: 3 months!?
Kazuki: You can get that much?!
Miri: How much is 3 months?
Kazuki: Uh? ...It means you wouldn't run out even if you ate them every day.
Miri: That much?! Then I can give you a few, Rei-papa.
Rei: Huh? Really?
Miri: Yeah!
***********************
Kyuutarou: You're free to participate however you want, but what are you going to do?
Kazuki: Hmm... Well, we can't laugh in the face of that much candy... but most importantly...
Kyuutarou: Most importantly?
Kazuki: I need to put some FEAR into Taiga-kun so much he won't talk to Miri so freely anymore...
Kyuutarou: Huh?
Kazuki: Okay, Miri! If we're doing this we need to give it our all! We just need to scare people, right? We'll make you the most terrifying preschooler in the shipping district!
Rei: Yeah.
Miri: Huh? I want to be the best monster though!
Kazuki: Yeah, that. So it's decided! Let's go home and have a planning meeting!
Rei: As much candy as I can eat!
Kazuki: Let's go!
Rei: As much as I can eat...
Miri: Ah! Wait, papa!
Kyuutarou: Miri-chan, if you run into any problems you can talk to me about it anytime, okay?
Miri: Yeah! Thank you, Kyuu-chan! Bye! Kazuki-papa! Rei-papa!
*Door closes*
Kyuutarou: *Sigh* Will they be okay?
*********************
Miri: I'm home!
Kazuki: Miri! Remember you have to wash your hands and gargle when you get home!
Miri: Okay! Turtle, mountain, wolf, bike vroom vroom vroom! (names for hand positions to remember how to wash your hands well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzsqynHMwlg)
Kazuki: Now then...
Rei: What should we do for the trick?
Kazuki: Well, it seems like a trick that scares people would be good, but... Miri!
Miri: Yes?
Kazuki: What kind of trick are you thinking about doing? Try and show us!
Miri: Okay! Towel... a white bath towel... Ah! Here's one!
Rei: A towel? What's she going to use it for?
Miri: Put it over my head and.... Wah... I can't see...!
Kazuki: Eh? Hey, Miri... Are you okay?
Miri: I'm a monster!
Kazuki: Huh?
Miri: If you make me angry I'm scary! If you don't go to sleep I'll take you to the monster world!
Rei: I see... So she's that white thing from the picture books?
Miri: Was I scary?
Kazuki: Oh... yeah! You were very scary! But to be the best you might need to make a bit more of an impact...
Miri: Oh... I'll go put the towel back...
Kazuki: She needs a little more of an impact... Rei, do you have any ideas? Something to make them scared stiff and then start doling out the candy?
Rei: Make them scared stiff... and then dole it out...?
*Pulls out gun*
Rei: If you don't want there to be gunshots then give me all your red hots!
Kazuki: No! Nope! That's completely out! That's even scarier than a monster! You're going to get the authorities called.
Rei: Oh... what about you?
Kazuki: Well, unlike a shut in like you, I've experienced Halloween before, but...
Rei: But?
Kazuki: Adult halloweens costs money... Last year Carol and the others were dressed up and they wrung me out until I was completely broke!  But despite that... there were no tricks! Such tough times!
Rei: Don't tell Miri about that...
Kazuki: It's not like I would!
Miri: Tell me too!
Kazuki: Ah! It's nothing! It's nothing! But don't just start shouting out of nowhere!
Miri: Did I scare you? Was that a good trick?
Kazuki: Huh? Hmm... that's right... I guess we gotta start with the best way to scare someone...?
Rei: Did you think of something?
Kazuki: Well... we still have time until Halloween... So how about this? We each try to trick each other?
Rei: So you mean I trick you and you trick me?
Kazuki: That's right. And then whoever tricks the person the best, or makes the person say "Wah!" the loudest is what Miri will do at the event! What do you think?
Rei: It sounds kinda annoying.
Kazuki: Don't be like that! You want candy don't you?
Rei: I do.
Miri: Me too! I want to try too!
Kazuki: Yeah sure. But it's not like you'd be able to scare us, Miri.
Rei: What's the time frame?
Kazuki: Well we'll need a few days to prepare before halloween... So how about for a week starting tomorrow?
Rei: Okay. Miri... try your best too.
Miri: Yeah!
Kazuki: Then we start tomorrow!
Rei/Miri: Yeah!
************************
Kazuki: Okay, it's done! Miri, Rei, come over here.
Rei: What?
Miri: Wah! Cupcakes? Why?
Kazuki: We had too much of some of the ingredients so I thought I should use them up. This one's for you, Miri. And Rei gets the adult version.
Rei: Adult version?
Kazuki: Come on, just eat it.
Miri: Okay! Itadakimasu!
Rei: Itadakimasu.
Kazuki: I got you! Miri's is a custard cream cupcake but Rei's is filled with super spicy sauce! I looked up tricks that were sure to work on the internet!
Miri: Mmm! It's so sweet and yummy!
Kazuki: Right? What about your's, Rei? How is it?
Rei: *Eating* Hm? Ah... It tastes different than I expected, but...
Kazuki: Huh? What's with that normal reaction? Don't you prefer sweet things? Hold on, let me try it.
Kazuki: *Eats some and spits it out*
Kazuki: Miri! Water! Give me water!
Miri: Water? Are you thirsty?
Kazuki: Just give it to me! Hurry!
Miri: Okay!
*Kazuki gulps water*
Kazuki: AHH! So spicy! I got carried away and put in too much!
Rei: What? Was this supposed to be a trick?
Kazuki: Man, why are you fine?
Rei: I guess because I had training to prepare me for being tortured where they gave me poisons and other irritants?
Kazuki: Oh, I see. No wait! How could you have had special training!? That's not helpful to us! Next!
*************************
Kazuki: I'm home! When buying ingredients for 3 people, shopping is nothing to laugh at. Rei! Come help me! Rei! Is he playing games again? Damn it!
Rei: Ah Ahhh...
Kazuki: Hm?
Rei: Ah ah ah ahh...
Kazuki: What are you just saying "Ah ah ah ahh?" and you're moving slowly... are you hungry?
Rei: Ahh...
Kazuki: If you just keep saying "ahh" I can't understand!
Rei: Zombie.
Kazuki: Huh?
Rei: I was trying to be a zombie...
Kazuki: Ohh... as a trick? I see. Yeah. You normally have dead eyes anyway so I didn't notice at all. Sorry.
Rei: Next.
**************************
Miri: I'm home!
Rei: I'm home... I picked up Miri-
*popping sound*
Rei: An attack!
*Rei pulls out gun and shoots*
Kazuki: Wah! Stop, stop!
Rei: Oh, it's just you, Kazuki?
Kazuki: Don't give me that! It was just crackers!
Rei: It's a rule that if you hear gunshots you have to counter attack!
Kazuki: Of course you've had special training for that!
Miri: *Giggles* It's just like Christmas! Aren't the popping sounds fun?!
Kazuki: Next!
********************
Kazuki: Hey, Rei? Why are you lighting candles in the dark...? What are you planning?
Rei: A trick.
Kazuki: Huh?
Rei: It was late one night.
Kazuki: Well, something's starting...?
Rei: My best friend and I were riding our motorcycles along a coastal road when I happened to stop at a bus stop for a break. There I saw 3 jizo statues in a row... When I glanced at them... I noticed one of them didn't have a head. When I looked around, I saw the head had fallen to the ground. I picked up the head, put it on top of the jizo, and got back on my bike.
Kazuki: Rei... Rei-san? What are you muttering about?
Rei: I then started having these weird feelings. I was thinking "my back feels weirdly heavy...", "I didn't like this..." "it's cold...", "This is weird...", "I'm scared! I'm scared..." when I heard a ding dong from an unexpected visitor. When I looked at the intercom's monitor... the man there claimed to be the head priest from the temple located right next to the bus stop where the jizo was located. With a pale face, he opened his mouth and said "Are you the one who put the head on top of the jizo?!" Then he kept muttering the same thing over and over, "You can't leave the head on the jizo. You can't leave the head on the jizo. " I thought it was suspicious so I opened the door but the priest wasn't there. I started to feel creeped out so I tried to call my best friend but I wasn't able to get in contact with him... Right when the head priest showed up... he was riding along the coastal road and got in an accident. He died instantly... When I asked about the person he got in the accident with, it was the priest who came to my door. Hey... Kazuki.
Kazuki: Huh?
Rei: When are you going to scream?
Kazuki: Well the part that made me want to shout the most was the introductory part where you were cruising around with this nonexistent best friend! It's fine to tell a scary story but at least make a believable setting.
Rei: Ahh...
Kazuki: And this is halloween! Don't just mix in random Japanese things like jizo and head priests! They don't really go together!
Rei: I see... so that's the problem?
Kazuki: Damn, and going to all that trouble to set the scene. Where exactly do you expect to find a somber looking preschooler telling ghost stories on halloween like this?!
*****************************
Miri: *Quietly singing*
Kazuki: How's Miri?
Rei: She's singing in her sleep.
Kazuki: I see... *Sigh* We've tried to do so many different tricks...
Rei: Halloween is hard...
Kazuki: Well, now that I think about it we are assassins... I don't really know where the line for scary is for normal people...
Rei: Is there anything that makes you scared, Kazuki?
Kazuki: Hmm... The face Kyuu-chan makes when we mess up a job...?
Rei: That... yeah... it's scary.
Kazuki: Since this is a request from Miri I assumed it would be easy but... this mission is much harder than our normal ones.
Rei: We won't be able to make Miri the best at this rate...
Kazuki: Ugh!! Why can't we come up with any good ideas!? We just need a halloween trick that Miri would be able to do that would still be slightly scary even to us!
*Phone buzzing*
Rei: Kazuki, phone.
Kazuki: Huh? Huh?? Sheep? Ugh... Hello?
Mary: Hello. Right now... I'm in front of your dumpster.
Kazuki: Huh?
*Phone hangs up*
Rei: Who was it?
Kazuki: Well... I don't really know...? Maybe it was a wrong number?
*Phone buzzing*
Kazuki: No... they're calling again...
Kazuki: Hello?
Mary: Hello. I'm Mary-san. Right now I'm in front of your elevator.
*Phone hangs up*
Kazuki: Eh? What was that?
*Phone buzzing*
Kazuki: Hm?? Ugh! Hello! Who is this? Don't you have the wrong number?!
Mary: Hello. Right now... I'm in front of your door.
Kazuki: No, I asked who you ar-...
*Doorbell rings*
Kazuki: Eh?
Rei: Who would be here so late?
Mary: Hello... I'm... Mary-san. I'm a doll that a girl called Miri threw away once. At that time...  I lost an arm and a leg then... so I came to get them.
*Doorbell rings*
Mary: Open up. Give me back my arm and leg!
Kazuki: *Gulps* Your arm and leg? I've never heard about this from Mir-...
Mary: If you wont give them back... I'm fine with your arms and legs too.
*Doorbell rings*
Rei: Kazuki... is this an attack?
Kazuki: Well... they said they're a doll named Mary... who wants her arm and leg back from Miri... and If she doesn't get them back... she's fine with ours...
Rei: A doll? What? So outside is the person who was making that weird phone call...? I'll go look.
Rei: Huh?
Kazuki: What is it, Rei?
Rei: Well... no one is showing up on the monitor.
Kazuki: No one? But it's definitely ringing...
*Phone buzzes*
Kazuki: Ah!
Rei: Another phone call?
Kazuki: I'm gonna answer... Hel-... *door creaks* Eek! Who's there!?
Mary: I'm Marry. Right now... I'm right behind you. So...
Miri: Give me your arms and legs Kazuki-papa and Rei-papa!!
*Kazuki and Rei scream*
Kazuki: Wait... Miri?!
Miri: *Giggles*
Kazuki: Weren't you... sleeping?
Kyuutarou: You're too scared. You're bothering the neighbors.
Kazuki: Kyuu...
Rei: chan...?
*Door opens*
Kazuki: Why?
Kyuutarou/Mary: I'm... Mary-san. When I saw Miri at her preschool, she told me what was happening.
Kyuutarou: And so we decided to try to trick you together.
Miri: Kazuki-papa! Rei-papa! Did we surprise you? Did I do good? Were you scared?!
Kyuutarou: It seems like it went well. As proof of that they both made cute screams, didn't they?
Kazuki: Kyuuuu-chaaaaaan!
Rei: Kyuu-chan really is the most scary!
**************************
People: Trick or treat!
Kyuutarou: Kazuki, how long are you going to pout?
Kazuki: Of course I'm pouting... since Miri secretly did a trick with you!
Kyuutarou: It seems that Miri was lonely since you guys were just messing around and ignoring her. Since it's your daughter's event you need to make sure to think about it with her as the focus.
Kazuki: Ugh... Sorry...
Kyuutarou: Here.
Kazuki: I didn't order a coffee though?
Kyuutarou: It's to say I'm sorry. I've been reflecting on it too. Since I never thought assassins like you would be so scared.
*Kazuki sighs and drinks*
Kazuki: It seems even more bitter than normal... But why did you help Miri, anyway? Was it to pick on us for messing up so many jobs recently?
Kyuutarou: That was part of it.
Kazuki: Wah! It was?!
Kyuutarou: Since I've known about your situation with Miri, you've been coming to my shop with her a lot, haven't you?
Kazuki: Huh? Ah... like on our way home from preschool or to pick up information about our jobs from you...?
Kyuutarou: Miri tells me that the omurice I make is good...
Kazuki: Huh?
Kyuutarou: Isn't that reason enough to help her?
Kazuki: Oh... I see...
Kazuki: Thanks for the coffee. Miri and Rei should be getting here soon.
Kyuutarou: What did you end up deciding on for Miri's costume and trick?
Kazuki: Well, we brushed up your idea for a trick and made Miri a look like a real french dol-...
Lady: *Screams*
Kazuki: Oh... something exciting seems to be happening!
Man: A gangster zombie?!
Kyuutarou: No... rather than exciting...
Kid: Mom! It's a zombie!! I'm scared!!
Kyuutarou: They seem to be screaming...
*Phone rings*
Kyuutarou: Hello?
Mary: I'm Mary-san. Right now I'm in front of your store.
Kyuutarou: Okay, okay. I'll open the door now.
*Opens door*
Miri/Mary: Ahh! Ahh! I'm Mary-san!
Rei: Give your arms and legs... and candy to this girl.
Kyuutarou: Why are you walking around holding Miri, Rei?
Rei: Because Mary-san is missing an arm and a leg.
Kyuutarou: Why is your head covered in blood?
Rei: Because Miri dropped a cake with red sauce she got on the way here on my head.
Miri: Tehe!
Kyuutarou: Why are all of the people in the shopping district running away from you?
Rei: I don't know... I was just walking around normally.
Kazuki: Uhh... have you looked in a mirror? You look much more like a zombie than you realize. I mean, it looks like your head is covered in blood. Your eyes... well they're always dead looking...
Rei: Ahh... but you weren't scared, Kazuki.
Kazuki: Well, I'm used to this. Ah... I see. So you're a bit too scary for the people in this neighborhood...
Miri: Kyuu-chan, did I become the best monster? Am I scary?
Kyuutarou: Huh? Y-yeah... hehe... you're scary. You're scary.
Miri: Yes!
Rei: Kazuki... why is Kyuu-chan all frozen?
Kazuki: Huh? Well, this is just a guess but... I think it's because he didn't expect that the silly thing he did would cause people at this peaceful halloween event to scream... You know because this isn't for realistic costumes or an Osaka theme park... and you look that realistic right now.
Rei: But... we're not getting that much candy for it...
Kazuki: Hmm.... that's probably because it's TOO realistic...
Miri: Trick or treat! Give me a lot of candy, Kyuu-chan!

A/N: Spot is here!!
Hey all! Okay so first things first thank you so much for all the support of the last chapter! It honestly means alot given that ive never written before lol. Alsoooo sorry for the radio-silence after the last release, i just graduated highschool! So yay for me :) also means that ill have much more time to write since its summer break for me now. Lastly, sorry if this chapter seemed kinda slow, I wanted to try to incorporate what this universes’ Felicia Hardys “canon events”(or what would be of her canon events) would look like in this chapter to set up a bit of backstory, as someone who doesn’t read the comics nor play the games, pls forgive any inaccuracies in Felicias lore as I am only going based off of wikipedia (plus in this story reader is a minor so I wanted to exclude the nsfw trauma that Felicia goes through in og story) I also wanted to find out a way how to integrate reader into the main plot which is why i decided to feature Spot in this chapter :D thanks again for the support and don’t forget that this chapter along with any future ones will be posted to ao3/tumblr under the same title!
P.S. Much more Spider-Miles/Black Cat interactions next chapter!!
Word Count: 1844
---------------------------------------------------
You remembered it like it was yesterday.
Seven months ago, Brooklyn, New York.
Your father - The Black Cat’s face on every screen in the country, but most importantly yours.
BREAKING NEWS: WORLD-RENOWNED CAT BURGLAR CAUGHT IN THE ACT : IDENTITY SHOCKS THE NATION
…huh?
LIVE ON THE SCENE: ‘BLACK CAT’ REVEALED TO BE MULTI MILLIONAIRE WALTER HARDY AFTER RUN-IN WITH SPIDER-MAN
…no, this-
THIS JUST IN: CAT BURGLAR WALTER HARDY PRESUMED DEAD AT HEIST SCENE - POSSESSIONS TO BE TURNED IN TO OFFICIALS
This can’t be happening.
It was all too much at once.
He never kept it secret from you. You knew about your father’s job.
You knew all about what he did. The planning, the heists, the reselling, he had done it for years. And you knew all about it.  But he had been doing this for years. Long enough to allow your family to live very comfortably. Long enough that you believed he would never be caught.
But yet there you were, all that you knew burned to the ground in a matter of minutes.
You remembered it like it was yesterday. Frantically packing everything you could into any bag you could find; clothes, money, pictures, weapons, anything - before they could take it away from you.
And when they did, it was brutal.
Live-streamed news coverage of men raiding your home, rummaging through your stuff- your father’s stuff- as if he never existed.
Soon enough there were auctions. Bids, worth millions, on your father’s items, broadcasted across the nation, with drinks and music and finger foods - they made a fucking sport out of it.
You remembered it like it was yesterday, the cheers in the street after the big-bad-black-cat was pronounced dead. The endless praise Spider-man received, that of which he took with a smile on his face. You had wished you could kill him.
You remembered it like it was yesterday, the day Peter Parker died.
You laughed.
.    .    .    .    .    .    .    .    .    .
Seven months later, Brooklyn, New York.
Ugh.
Muscles aching, you stretched up in your bed, and groaned. Ruffling the bedhead out of your hair, you reluctantly trudged out of your mattress to open a window. Coincidentally, one of your many cats was perched perfectly on its sill, wide-eyed and tail flicking in your direction.
“...This whole heist stuff is really catching up to me, huh?”
The cat stared. You sighed. You really had to get yourself some friends.
Ever since your fathers passing, you’ve basically been on your own. Shortly after all his (and your) possessions were seized, you hopped around until you managed to find shelter in a shitty apartment on the west side of town. You, fueled purely by spite (with a tasteful teeny tiny dash of vengeance on the side), inherited the criminal persona of your father, along with his criminal tendencies, and took upon yourself the name of The Black Cat.
All this time you’ve managed to keep your identity completely secret, not even your resellers knew who you were. That came with one major drawback though… you were extremely lonely.
Even with your frequent charity rounds around the community, noone really knew who you were. Even though Black Cat was nonviolent, the name was widely feared seemingly everywhere you went. Even with your days at school, the school you’ve been going to for months now, you made your way around the halls unnoticed.
Speaking of school, you were late.
Shit.
Spending ample time dazing out your window, you’ve completely lost track of time. You disregarded your hair and rushed to pull on your uniform. Stumbling around your complex you hastily dumped too large of a portion of cat food into the automatic feeder, something you’re sure the cats will be grateful for. Shoving a few snacks into your bag, you simultaneously shuffled into your school shoes, proceeding to dash out the door.
Sprinting down the stairs, nearly tripping once, twice, you whipped out your phone to check when the next bus route would arrive. 35 minutes.
Shitshitshit.
You paused, still in the stairwell, before turning to sprint in the opposite direction, towards the rooftop terrace. Creaking open the door, you checked to make sure noone else was up there before making your way towards the edge of the terrace. To anyone else but you, it would look like a young student was about to make an unfortunate decision and jump. And jump you did.
You fell for a few seconds, relishing in the way your stomach dropped. You’d never get tired of that feeling. Seeing the ground get closer, you released your grappling hook and latched onto the nearest building. Pulling and releasing, you quickly fell into a swinging pattern, towards Brooklyn Visions.
Hidden from the eyes of civilians, you swung yourself through the shadows. Everyone looked so small from up there, and for a brief second, you found power in your lonesome. In the corner of your eye you noticed what seemed to be a lanky white figure clumsily flying through the air. (You paid it no mind).
Dropping down into a dark alleyway much closer to campus, you continued your mad dash towards the main entrance. Winded, you finally made your way inside the building, a thin layer of sweat shined on your forehead. The hallways were empty, class must be in session. You took a few steps forward, making your way towards your classroom until being knocked over by a student, very evidently in a hurry.
“Sorry! Sorry, I didn’t mean to-I’m just in a rush, I didn’t mean…”
The boy reached out his hand to help you up.
“Hey, it's no problem, I get it.”
You smiled, and took your hand in his. He hesitated for a moment, staring, brows furrowed at your now interlocked hands, before nodding and continuing his sprint down the hallways.
You took in his disheveled appearance, his wonky tie, his half-tucked shirt, untied laces, dark eyes, curly hair, brown skin, sweaty palms…
Your thoughts were quickly interrupted with the shrill ringing of the school bell. Suddenly, the hallways flooded with students rushing towards their next classes, you decided to follow suit.
On the other side of the hallway, Miles Morales lingered on how his spidey-sense flashed alarms in his head when his hand touched yours. Every nerve in his system telling him to run, fight, dodge, anything to get away from you-he couldn't put his finger on why. (He paid it no mind). Blaming it on nerves, Miles shoved his way through the packed hallways, dreading the meeting waiting for him in the guidance counselor's office.
.    .    .    .    .    .    .    .    .    .    .    .    .    .
School was a bust, as always. Nothing new, you made your way through the rest of the day unnoticed. As always. But you didn’t have time to think about that right now.
At the moment, you were in the middle of going through numerous number-codes on a padlock blocking the vault door to an extremely expensive gemstone. You’ve been salivating over this stone for weeks now, planning out how and when exactly you would strike to get this thing in your hands. You could see it now, the headlines, the chaos, after some rando millionaire’s little rock was taken from him…
“Woah, hey, you’re new!”
You flinched, hard. Whipping around towards the source of this unusually chipper voice. You were met with… a cow? … Man?
You stared, hard.
“Okay, hey. The ogling isn’t necessary… I just-”
The cowman’s sentence was cut short with a quick lash of your whip, that of which he caught…? Your whip seemed to phase right through a large black hole on his torso, the opposite end appearing in a similar black hole right behind you, the whips end striking your back. You cried out, hit with the full force of your lash.
Sinister giggles emerged from the spotted figure, pointed towards your pained form. You trembled, in shock.
“It’s rude to interrupt.”
Spot stepped slowly towards you, his…well, spots, whirring aggressively, pointedly. You were frozen on the ground. Staring up at him, your lips trembled open.
“What,” You coughed. Once, twice. “-what are you?”
The black and white figure straightened, only to then fold over into a dramatic, hilariously unthreatening pose.
“You, can call me… The Sp-”
“Some sort of cow?” You snickered. It was now his turn to flinch, hard.
“I am NOT a-” The cow cleared his throat. “I am not a cow…whydoeseveryonesaythat…I, am the most dangerous villain you’ve ever seen, The Spo-”
“I mean, what’s with that getup?” The grin on your face grew. “Is that… is that supposed to be a costume? Orrrr…”
The Spot sighed, defeated. “...it’s skin.”
“It’s skin?”
“Yes, yes, now I-”
You stood up, energy back and eyes crinkled.
“Wow, that’s…hm, interesting…skin, that’s skin? Sorry, sorry-listen man, I uh, I really gotta get back to this, so if you don’t mind?”
Stepping backwards in offence, the spotted figure shook in anger before swinging out his arm, releasing numerous dark voids around the room. Hitting practically every surface, but one most importantly, landing on the vault door, separating you, from your stone.
“Ah-wait-”
Swiftly, The Spot weaved his way through his holes, limbs popping up and out around the room in a way you couldn’t even begin to reach for your whip.
No way was he about to take it from you.
But take it, he did.
In what felt like seconds, the whole room was engulfed in black. Stumbling backwards, you fell through one of the voids, flailing ungracefully, swimming through nothing.
It was hard to breathe.
A shrill crackling terrorized your ears, and before you, appeared a very disheveled Spot, now fully black with white spots, facial dot whirring and trained on you.
Gem in hand.
Panic.
You were panicking. The sound of blood thrummed in your ears as you squirmed around in nothingness. Fuck the rock, you just had to get out of here.
A cold hand grabs your wrist, dragging you upwards, towards the crackling form.
For the second time today, you were frozen.
“I am not a cow,”
The form spoke lowly.
“I am not some villain of the week”,
Frozen still, you did nothing but stare straight into his glare.
“I. Am. The Spot”.
Suddenly, you were dropped. For the second time today, your stomach dropped with you. Next thing you know you’re falling through another void, leading not into darkness, but through the city skyline. Seeing the ground get closer, you released your grappling hook and latched onto the nearest building.
As soon as your feet reached a solid surface, your legs buckled. Heaving, you failed to process what just took place, heart pounding in your ears.
“...the fuck was that?”
.   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .
Miles received word of commotion taking place downtown, something to do with spots. He had hoped it wasn’t what he thought it was, and it was. It was, and was so much worse.
Dark spots littered a large manor, maniacal cackling emerging from its center. In the corner of his eye a familiar masked figure hunched over, breathing rapidly, staring straight ahead at the mess of spots.
(He paid it some mind.)

you have been working at HQ of the spider society for a year. you work as your boss’s assistant, the infamous miguel o’hara. known for his cocky and arrogant reputation. when you were recruited, you were a bit apprehensive. his intimidating demeanor, abnormal figure, and vampire-like abilities seemed overwhelming. during your first few days as his assistant, you were bashful and anxious. you rarely spoke words to him, just a simple “hello” and “goodnight” as well the occasional hums and nods. miguel noticed your anxious demeanor, he didn’t blame you. he reassured you in the most gentle and considerate manner. that changed your perspective of him. under the intimidating and aggressive demeanor, there is sincerity and sympathy.
as time went on, you and miguel grew to become good friends. seeing his compassionate nature made him gain your trust and you gained his. the entrusted friendship and bond you two shared bloomed beautifully. you two would share details of each other’s lives, backgrounds and current events. miguel opened up to you about his past, shared details that he never told to anyone. not even his closest colleagues like peter and jess. that proves how much he trusts you, and you appreciate it.
you put all of your effort and productivity into your role as assistant. complete all tasks, collecting and filing reports. miguel deeply appreciates your dedication and commitment. he values your work ethics and integrity. he adores the cup of coffee you bring for him each morning. the occasional check-up questions such as asking him if he has eaten, drank enough water, or slept well. no one has never been so considerate and thoughtful. it warms his heart.
due to your heavy dedication, you rarely request days off. when you do, it’s mainly for personal reasons or emergencies. miguel would encourage you to take some days off to rest, to not overload yourself. but, of course you insist that it isn’t necessary and you are perfectly fine. besides, you need the money so you can support yourself and your son, luca.
ever since you started working at HQ, you have never mentioned about your son to anyone, especially miguel. knowing his past, his daughter, you believe telling him would hurt him; affect him deeply. the last thing you want is to make miguel feel sorrowful. to prevent that, you kept your son a secret.
     ━━━━━━━━ ִ  ۫   ꒰ ♡ ꒱  ۫   ݂ ━━━━━━━━
it’s another day of work. the sunlight shimmers through the beige sheer curtains, illuminating your bedroom. the bed sheets hug you so deeply, it’s a struggle to get out of your comfy bed. but like always, you have to get up and get ready for work.
resisting the delicious comfort of the bed, you slowly pull the covers off. just as you’re about to sit up, luca scrambles into your room and jumps onto the bed filled with enthusiasm.
“mamá!” luca exclaims, jumping on top of you and hugs you tightly.
you gasp at his sudden appearance, instinctively wrapping your arms around and embracing him. “qué paso, mijo?” you place a kiss on his head, running your fingers through his hair.
he lifts up his head and looks at you with a big smile. “are you going to ask your boss to not work tomorrow for my birthday?”
“aww sí, mijo. of course i will.” you smile at him, gently rubbing his head.
“yay! thanks, mamá!” luca hugs you again.
you softly chuckle, embracing your son before pulling back. “okay, mijo. you have to get ready before tia cece comes to pick you up.”
“okay, mamá!” he said, hopping off the bed and running back into his room down the hall.
you smile as you watch him leave before turning that smile into a pouty face. you rarely request days off unless it’s personal or an emergency, and miguel knows that. to be honest, you’re a little nervous to ask him since it’s for luca’s birthday. you kept luca as a secret from your boss, as well as everyone else. the best solution is to simply ask and tell him it’s for personal reasons. you pray he won’t ask for the actual truth and just understands.
snapping out of the negative thoughts, you get out of bed and walk to your dresser. once you picked out your clothes, you head over to luca’s room just to check up on him. he is playing with his toys on the floor. a little smile forms on your lips at the sight.
you head to the bathroom and take a shower. after showering and getting dressed, you exit the bathroom and head back to luca’s room.
“tia cece will be here in 15 minutes. have you had cereal or do you want me to make you breakfast?” you asked as you crouched next to him, softly smiling at him and gently brushing his hair.
“can i have huevos con weeines, please?!” he pleads.
“of course, mijo.” you smile as you plant a kiss his forehead. you stand up and walk out of his room, heading to the kitchen.
after about 5 minutes of cooking, you pour the meal into a plastic bowl and placed it on the dining table.
“luca! tú comida is ready!” you shout.
you hear footsteps approaching. luca rushes into the kitchen and sits down at the table. while he eats his breakfast, you pack your lunch and prepare your tote bag with your belongings. you snack on a piece of pan con mantequilla as your breakfast.
the doorbell rings; it’s your sister cece.
“tia cece is here.” you announced, walking up to the front door and opening it.
“hey sis.” cece greets you with a hug and a side kiss. she turns and looks at luca. “hey, little man!”
“tia cece!” luca hops off from the chair with excitement and runs to her.
cece crouches down and opens her arms, capturing him in a hug. “how’ve you been?” she asked, smiling.
“bien! are we going to museum today?” he asked.
“sí, mijo. with your cousins.” cece smiles at him.
“yay!” luca exclaims, hugging her once again.
she chuckles then stands up, looking at you. “i’ll drop him off at the same time.”
you simply nod. “make sure he eats some veggies.” you glance at him, teasing a little smile at him. “he needs that nutrition.”
both you and cece laugh, luca groans in annoyance.
“i promise. don’t drown yourself in too much work.” cece joked but clearly means it, grabbing luca’s hand and stands at the door.
you just laugh as you grabbed your tote bag and house keys. once you put on your heels, all of you exit your apartment. locking the door, you turn and crouched down in front of luca.
“have a great day, mijo. be sure to listen to tia cece.” you cup his face and kiss his forehead.
“i will, mamá!” luca smiles at you.
“thanks, cece. i’ll see you later.” you hug cece.
she hugs you back. “of course.”
you both start departing, walking in opposite directions.
“bye, mijo! té quiero.” you wave at your son, blowing a kiss at him while walking away.
“bye mamá! té quiero mucho!” he waves back as he walks away with cece, holding hands with her.
you smile at him before walking away.
     ━━━━━━━━ ִ  ۫   ꒰ ♡ ꒱  ۫   ݂ ━━━━━━━━
approaching his office, carrying your touch pad with filed reports in your hand, your anxiety creeps in. with each step, the more you feel nervous. this is your chance to ask him about requesting tomorrow off for luca’s birthday. all you can pray is him granting your request and just leave it at that.
you reach the front of his office, the glass door sliding as you enter. your heels echo the room considering it’s usually quiet in his office.
miguel is up on his platform, looking at the various orange screens in front of him. he hears high heals, knowing it’s you. a little smile forms on his lips.
“hey. i brought the reports you requested.” you said softly, stopping at the little desk that is beside you.
“thanks, [y/n]. just leave them there.” he gestures at the little desk, still looking at the screens.
as instructed, you place the touch pad on the desk. normally, you would walk yourself out of his office and resume to your work in your mini office. you need to ask him before you lose the opportunity. however, your anxiety isn’t helping you right now. you have never been this nervous, especially towards miguel, not since you first met him.
you hesitate, fiddling with your hands as a coping mechanism. you inhale deep breaths to calm yourself, regulate your breathing as much as you can. once you managed to calm down, you finally speak.
“hey. do you mind if i request tomorrow off?” your voice shakes a little, still fiddling with your hands.
miguel froze for a second. he knows you only request days off for personal reasons or in case of emergencies. he is genuinely curious, or a little concerned. did something happen? is it an emergency? a few thoughts ran through his mind.
he turns half of his body around, looking down at you from where is he standing. “sure. everything alright?” he asked sincerely.
“yeah. it’s just personal.” you rushed out your words, still a nervous wreck. you try concealing your nerves by giving a small smile, hands still fiddling.
he notice your nervousness, he isn’t blind. you acted like this when you began working for him. miguel reassured you and became great friends afterwards. you both trust each other. why are you suddenly nervous towards him again? did he do something wrong? now, he’s concerned.
jumping off of his platform, miguel slowly approaches you with a genuine concern expression. “is there something wrong?”
oh shit. he’s asking for the truth. you can’t tell him, you know what will happen. you take a step back from his approach. “nope! it’s just a family matter.” you answered nervously. that isn’t a total lie, it is a family matter but you can’t reveal your secret.
miguel is confused when you stepped back from him. why are you backing away from him? he doesn’t mean harm or anything. his brows frown in a concerning manner, lips pouting. not wanting you to keep stepping away, he stops and just stands there.
“are you sure?” he voice his concern.
“yes. everything is fine. no wor—“ you are cut off by lyla, who magically appears between you two.
“hey [y/n]. your son is here looking for you. peter b found him in the cafeteria. he’s bringing him here.” the ai informs them vanishes in the air.
silence fills the office. neither you or miguel speak a word to each other. your secret is exposed.
miguel stands still in complete shock, practically dumbfounded. you have a son? you’re a mother? this shocking information felt like a slap in the face. he never knew you were a mother. you never mentioned it before. why didn’t you tell him? is that why you’re requesting tomorrow off?
your whole body froze. your secret is exposed and miguel knows. just how you feared. now, you are afraid of his reaction. what will he say? your anxiety increases as negative thoughts and possibilities flow through your mind.
before either of you could speak, the glass door slides open and peter b enters office, holding luca’s hand as he approaches you both.
“hey [y/n]. i found your son in the cafeteria. he was looking for you and some possible snacks.” peter adds a little humor at the end.
“mamá!” luca shouts, letting go of peter’s hand and running towards you.
you crouch down and sprang your arms open to catch him. luca runs into your arms and hugs you with the biggest smile on his face. instinctively, you wrap your arms around him and hugged him back.
“luca. qué haces aquí? why are you here?” you asked, voicing your concern as you caresses his face.
“i wanted to surprise you! and i missed you!” he smiles at you.
miguel’s heart melts at the sight. part of him is still shocked by the reveal but he is mainly in awe. your son is adorable, looks like you. same dark chocolate hair and eyes but he’s a bit tanner.
a quiet sigh escapes from you. “luca, you know i’m busy at work. but i’m happy that you did.” you softly smile at him before realizing he’s just by himself, your sister nowhere to be seen. “where’s your tia cece?”
“she’s in the bathroom. did you ask your boss about tomorrow?” he asked, smiling as always.
a feeling of relief flows through you that luca didn’t just walked in by himself. you let out another quiet, soft sigh of relief. “yes. and he said yes.” you softly smiled at your son.
“yay!” he exclaims, hugging you again.
you softly chuckle as you hugged him back. your boy is happy; all you wished for. then, realization kicks in when you remembered miguel has been watching the entire time. pulling from the hug, you slowly stand up and turn to face him, handing luca’s hand.
you struggle to make eye contact with him. you are still nervous but you managed to speak, gently tightening your grip on your son’s hand as comfort. “miguel… this is my son, luca.”
miguel gazes at luca, a little smile on his lips.
luca happily waved at him, smiling. “wow you’re big. just like mamá said.” he lets go of your hand and walks up to miguel, fascinated by his large figure. “you’re the biggest spiderman i’ve ever seen.”
“luca…” you reprehend your son, feeling a bit embarrassed.
miguel lowly chuckles at his comment, crouching down in front of him with a small smile on his face. “yeah. i get that a lot.” he finds it so adorable how fascinated luca is by his appearance.
peaked with curiosity as kids usually are, luca gently pokes miguel’s arms and biceps.
“luca don’t…” you slowly approach both of them, standing beside your son.
“it’s okay, [y/n].” miguel said softly, still has his gaze locked on luca as the boy continues to wonder.
you just stand there, watching your son playfully poking around miguel’s arms and face. in full honesty, the interaction between them is adorable. how deeply fascinated luca is about miguel and him allowing your son to mess around. the sight warms your heart, causing you to smile. you never believed miguel and luca would connect so quickly, or miguel behaving normal. he isn’t emotional or uncomfortable, instead visibly happy to meet luca.
“hey! you should come to my birthday party tomorrow!” luca smiles brightly at him.
now he knows your reason to request tomorrow off; it’s your son’s birthday. of course he will grant it.
both yours and miguel’s hearts melt at his plead. however, you’re not sure if it’s possible. miguel is a busy man, leader of the spider society. he rarely has time off, always occupied with missions and regulating the multiverse.
“aw mijo, he can’t. he’s very busy.” you said, gingerly playing your hand on his shoulder.
“i’ll be there.” miguel said.
you immediately look at him with surprise, eyes widen. “really?” you are stunned. he is really willing to attend your son’s birthday party? to give up a day of being the leader of a marvelous team of heroes just to be with your son? your hearts warms even more.
“yes. i wouldn’t miss it for the multiverse.” he gaze shifts from you to luca, softly smiling.
“yay!” luca shouts with enthusiasm, giving miguel the biggest hug.
miguel softly chuckles, hugging him back.
you melt once again, seeing them hugging each other. a picture you never would ever see before.
“are you sure you can go?” you asked with a little concerned expression.
“yes. i’m sure.” he said softly, glancing at you with a small smile. miguel is more than happy to attend luca’s birthday party. he adores the little boy, such a sweet and kindhearted kid. luca definitely gets it from you, his wonderful mother.
you feel pleased, delighted that he will be there. you simply share the same smile at him.
luca pulls from the hug, jumping in excitement. “yay! spiderman is gonna be at my birthday party! it’s gonna be the best birthday ever!”
you and miguel laugh, smiling at him.
the glass door slides open. cece, your sister, enters the office. “oh there you are!” she walks up to you, mainly looking at luca. “you shouldn’t have run off like that, mijo.” she shifts her gaze from him to you. “sorry [y/n]. he wanted to visit you because he missed you a lot. i couldn’t stop him.”
“it’s okay, cece. at least he found me.” you said.
just before she could respond, cece’s attention is focused on miguel standing beside you. her brows raise in surprise. “whoa. who is the giant handsome man next to you?”
miguel chuckled at her comment. “i’m miguel, [y/n]’s boss.” he extends his hand out for cece to shake.
cece raises a brow in surprise, grinning. “ohhhh well, nice to meet you, miguel. i’m cece, [y/n]’s sister.” she greets him in a flirty manner, shaking his hand before giving you a wink.
you glare at her in embarrassment, a little bit of blush staining your cheeks.
“well, i think it’s time go.” cece clears her throat, looking back at luca. “we gotta go, mijo. your mom is still working.”
“i’ll walk you both out.” you said.
cece nods in agreement.
“come on, mijo. let’s take you back.” you gently grab his hand, gesturing to start walking.
“okay.” luca turns back, looking at miguel. “bye big spiderman!” he waves at him, smiling brightly.
“adiós, chiquito.” miguel waves back, returning the smile as he watch you walk away with luca and cece.
     ━━━━━━━━ ִ  ۫   ꒰ ♡ ꒱  ۫   ݂ ━━━━━━━━
after saying goodbye to luca and cece, you head back to miguel’s office. now that your secret is revealed, you have to explain to him. that anxious feeling from earlier torments you once again.
as you enter his office, you find miguel leaning against the little desk with his arms crossed over his broad chest. he glances at the floor until he hears you enter, immediately looking at you.
“is he heading home now?” he sincerely asked.
“yeah, my sister is taking him back to her house. i’m sorry about all of that. i know you’re probably upset.” you said nervously as you walk up to him, fiddling with your hands once again.
a little frown of concern forms on his face. “i’m not upset and don’t apologize, it’s understandable.” miguel lifts off from the desk and takes a step towards you. he knows it was just a little surprise. the last thing he wants is you feeling guilty. in fact, it bothers him a lot to see you distressed.
you quickly glance up at him with a brief smile before looking down, still fiddling with your hands. the nervousness building inside increases.
miguel detects the hand fiddling, a sign of anxiety and nervousness. he practically knows you well. now he feels bad but wants to reassure you with all his heart. “look… you don’t have explain yourself. it’s understandable, [y/n].”
you avoid eye contact, looking at the floor to conceal your nervous state. you know he means well but that anxious feeling is telling you otherwise. “i know… i was going to tell you but… i was afraid to…” you whispered that last phrase.
his heart drops at your confession. it felt like a stab to the heart. you were afraid of telling him about your son? oh his heart aches terribly. “why were you afraid?” he softly asked, takes a step closer.
you pause for a moment, inhaling a deep breath before explaining. you still avoid eye contact. “because i know how you are whenever someone mentions kids so… i didn’t want you to feel hurt.”
oh his heart drops drastically, more than ever. you kept your son a secret because of him. now miguel is absolutely gutted. you were protecting him from grief, heartache. he is the guilty one, not you. his heart aches painfully that his whole body aches.
“you didn’t. you shouldn’t have been afraid. i’m glad to know about your son. he’s a great kid and has an amazing mother.” miguel takes another step, looking at you with remorseful eyes. he means that last part.
his words improve your mood, feeling a bit relieved. that anxious feeling slowly faded away. finally, you look up at him with small smile. “thank you.”
he simply nods, returning the smile. acknowledging luca’s birthday tomorrow, miguel is curious how old will the little boy be turning. “so how old is he turning tomorrow?” he asked.
“five. he’s growing up so fast.” you said, recognizing how quick your son is growing up.
“five? wow. he definitely is.” miguel lowly chuckles.
“yeah. it feels like he was just born yesterday.” a flashback of his birth plays in your mind, softly smiling at the thought.
miguel recaps everything about you. you are 24 and luca is turning 5 tomorrow. he realizes you were young when he was born. “you were young when you had him, hm?”
“yeah. i was 19. i got pregnant at 18 during my freshman year of college. it was a struggle but with the help of my family, i managed to still do my studies while being pregnant.” you elaborate.
he is impressed, captivated by your efforts. how you managed to balance college and pregnancy. his admiration for you grows stronger.
“wow. that’s impressive.” he compliments sincerely. recalling your pregnancy during college, his mind wonders about the father. he isn’t necessarily in the picture, or at least not present. miguel is curious but hesitant, understanding it’s personal. although, the desperation to know consumes him.
“i don’t mean to pry, if you don’t mind me asking. what happened with the father?” he tenderly asked, now regretting since he’s asking something personal.
“no it’s okay! he was my boyfriend at the time. when i found out, he was so considerate and kind. he was very responsible about the pregnancy. and i’m forever grateful for everything he has done.” your voice changes into a sorrowful tone. “but when luca was two, we broke up because things weren’t working out between us. we share custody and are on good terms now.”
miguel is attentive to every word. he detects the change of tone in your voice when you mentioned the break up. totally understandable. his curiosity peaks when you mentioned you and your ex are on good terms now.
“is he still around or…” he knows he is pushing it but his curiosity takes over.
“he is but lives far away. he occasionally visits to spend time with luca. mainly his birthday and holidays.” you elaborate.
a little frown forms on his face. miguel understands work can be a pain, he knows certainly well, but he believes the child is more important. considering the fact luca’s father only visits on his birthday or holidays seem like barely any effort. now, miguel is determined to show up at the party, dressed in his suit and make luca happy.
“i’m sorry about that. it seems unfair.” he said.
“yeah but that’s the burden of working at a large corporation.” you give a weak smile.
miguel has a purpose, to make luca happy. to be by his side when his father can’t. that seems messed up and wrong but he doesn’t want the kid to feel abandoned by his father. miguel now genuinely cares for luca, such a kindhearted kid with a great future ahead of him. and you, taking care of luca by yourself as a single mom, he most definitely wants to be by your side. there is no denial of his feelings for you. the connection between you two, miguel sees you more than a friend. you are his comfort, the only person who makes him feel comfortable and valued. he wants to be more, and maybe this is his chance.
“well, i’ll most definitely be there tomorrow.” miguel said, a little smile forming on his lips.
you return the smile, heart warming up. “great.”

Draken
childhood friends to strangers to lovers
The first time you ever spoke to Draken you challenged him to a race, claiming that your shoes gave you super speed. To test this theory the two of you ran around the brothels makeshift daycare until your little legs gave out, panting and debating who was the winner. From then on you became a formidable duo; fighting and going on adventures was daily routine . Inseparable was the only way to describe you two, and with age you only grew closer.
Until the day you left Tokyo. You stared at your life long friend with matching tears staining your cheeks. You never wanted to let him go, even when your parents called, you hugged him tighter. You both whispered promises of never losing touch, before you gently kiss his cheek after you're finally forced to let go.
Those promises were lost as the years went by but now you stare at the man across the hall of your new apartment. You thought it would be impossible for him to grow any taller but here he is, giant with dark strands hanging loosly in front of his face, big arms dropping his grocery bags ."ken ken?" The nickname compels him to start moving, like he's wearing super speed shoes. In only a few long strides he's scooping you into his arms. The familiarity of him alone almost makes you forget that's it's been 10 years.
Ran
Second chance romance (cw, brief harrassment, cursing)
Ran Haitaini hated parties, he hated how late and tiring they were. Which is funny because he now co owns a nightclub, and with that title its apparently etiquette for him to attend the big new years event. He leans on the balcony overlooking the dance floor, sipping lazily at the drink in his hand. From there he has a clear view of the party, he can spot Sanzu dancing like a maniac and Kokonoi obviously turning a party into a business venture.
Ran almost thinks he hallucinating when hes sees you. Of course you came tonight, run ins with each other have become very frequent as of late. And fuck,do you look gorgeous. He cant help but notice your making way to the exit and a not so friendly looking gentlemen is staggering after you. Its Rans instinct to go after you.
And thank god he did, because when he reaches you, there you were telling the creep to fuck off. "Cmonnnn dolllll" the man slurs. But before the guy can get closer, Ran pulls him back by the collar and lands a fist right in his face. It doesn't take much for the asshole to start running.
You look at the guy then at Ran. "Why did you do that Haitaini" you scowl. "force of habit I guess, besides this time it was necessary" he admits. He knows you hated when he threw himself into fights especially on your behalf. You take his hand, gently running your fingers on his bruised knuckles, letting out a sigh.
"C'mon I have bandages in my car" you say as you drag him to your car. Ran cant help but feel nostalgic, him being hurt and you pretending to hate fixing him up. He thinks just for a brief moment this how things are supposed to be.
Shinichiro and wakasa
love triangle
You had met wakasa a while back when he still ran with his own gang Kodo Rengo, the night he watched your band perform at some random club, he was mesmerized by your rockstar mystique and found you back stage. The two of you shared moment, pleasantly spending the whole night together. But once he drove you home, you never saw him again. You thought about him constantly, catching yourself searching for him in the crowds of your shows.
Until you saw him again, this time through the sweet boy from your math class. When Shinchiro introduced you guys, it was wordlessly agreed not to mention how you already knew each other. Shinchiro was sweet, and would drive you home from school daily. You couldn't help but feel a bit giddy around him as time passed, but you couldn't shake your feelings for wakasa.
The more you spent time with each of them you felt your confusion run deeper and deeper. Until one drunken night you found yourself playing truth or drink with the gang. During your turn you were asked: who do you want to fuck in this room?
Your eyes widen as you look between the two, who stare at you, their gazes are piercing and almost daring you to choose one of them in this very moment.
You tilt your head back gulping down your drink thinking you dodged a bullet. It wasnt until it was just you three left did wakasa push for an answer .
Mitsuya
strangers to fwb to lovers (cw, smoking weed lol, suggestive)
Mitsuya was a workaholic through and through. Spending countless hours in his studio, even sleeping there on occasion. Hakkai was worried, just like any friend would be. He then decided to force him to have fun and distract him from his work so he invited him to a house party.
At some point in the night, Hakkai had disappeared with one of his model friends. Leaving mitsuya to wander aimlessly through the home in search of a break from the headache inducing pop music.
Finally finding a room (that wasn't occupied by Busy guests). He wasnt suprised when the familiar scent of weed filled the space. There you were on the floor, taking a drag of the blunt between your fingers. You turned to him with a dazed grin, wordlessly inviting him to come in.
The two of you ended up smoking and talking about whatever shit came to your clouded minds. Inching closer and closer until you crawled into his lap. Giggling when you were right in his face, the heat of the kiss that followed made the room spin. Your hands gently tugging his hair . His hands on your waist guiding you as you rock back and forth on his crotch. Groaning into your mouth, you could taste the weed on his tongue.
When you pulled away breathless. While he was kissing at your neck and exposed chest he whispered six simple words.
"Wanna come back to my place?"

So you know in the Halloween event how the magicam monsters keep breaking in to ramshackle how would Malleus, Sebek, and Lilia handle them disrespecting god in the self aware au and invading their privacy and stealing things?
Self-aware au
I do not take any responsibility for you reading this no matter which age group you are from!
WARNINGS: Yandere themes, religion, blood, death, murder, possessiveness, obsession, stalking
Malleus Draconia/Lilia Vanrouge/Sebek Zigvolt-Visitors breaking into Ramshackle
Tumblr media
So they have choosen death. Interesting
We already know how he reacted when someone broke in when it was just Yuu living there but now imagine the whole thing in self-aware….
Mhm the world shall burn
But how did things even come this far
So here you were, for some reason living in a almost collapsing building (Crowley must have had a death wish), and he decides to bring the festival to you
And people finding out that not only ghosts are there but also the Overseer? Have fun guarding your stuff
The first day everything was a mess
People were going into your home and thank goodness that Crowley was kind enough to give you the keys to your room
But there was still stuff outside your room and guess what, that was gone
I mean, who wouldn’t want something so fine like a blanket of the Overseer?
When Malleus found out the first day had already passed
That doesn’t mean that the people on the second day were any safer
The anger he couldn’t release the day before got thrown onto these poor souls
No one was even allowed to come close to Ramshackle and if they did?
Fried chicken my friend. Fried chicken.
But hey! This shows how much they adore you and a few… incidents wont be too bad if it means making sure that you and everything you own is safe, right? Also, you can roast marshmallows on the fire that is consuming the world. Yay!
Tumblr media
Now Lilia might not be as powerful as a certain individual whom I totally haven’t mentioned in this post but he has his means
I mean, tose years of making others a head shorter are great practice for what is about to come
Lilia is very religous
In fact, he is so deep into it that he might have done things in his delusions that others of it wouldn’t have done
But here we are, your stuff gone
Lilia, why is that red paint on your clothing? You are not in Pomefiore so… oh… ok
When Lilia prayed to you in those huge churches in the Valley of Thorns he witnessed sometimes how someone would try to nab one of the offerings presented to you
You may let your mind run loose what he did to them
And now someone dares to steal from you
Oh dear, they won’t be seeing their loved ones ever again
The Fae is not afraid to use violence to get what he wants and now he wants them to be miserable
Once he has taken care of the ones who stole from you you will net be able to get rid of him
After all, who can say that you don’t get robbed again?
So even after the celebration he is still standing there, guarding you and your stuff
And when you leave? Silver is taking over the spot and that one bush seems to follow you
They dared to take from you before so how can he know that they won’t try to harm you the next time?
Tumblr media
My poor ears
But we had everything until now, the end of the world, your own personal guard in a suspiciously red suit so how much worse can it get?
To our suprise, it really can’t so yay?
Sebek is not powerfull nor violent enoough to cause the damage the other Fae did
That does not mean that those meneances are spared though
So here you are, Sebek holding your hand whilst the ones who dared to take from you are… lying there as proof of his devotion
If this would be an anime they would be pixilated for obvious reasons
But what did we expect? He was raised by one of the bigges religious fanatict in the Valley of Thorns so this shouldn’t be a suprise
There is a way to stop him though
Tell him that you need him to be by your side so that you aren’t too sad
Tell him that his presence is like light in the dark
This may spare a few visitors but you are paying a great price
Have I ever mentioned that Faes can be quite possessive with the ones they adore
The only ones safe from him would be his beloved Waka-sama, Lilia and Silver
You ask what happens to others? Pixilated offerings
But can’t you see? He is only doing this becaise he loves you! Now don’t run away and stay here right beside him

Kindness at Christmas
Content: Nearly 3.7k words showing some of your most recent Christmas, and a long flashback of how you got there.
Extras: Another piece for @levi-supreme Happy Birthday Levi event! This got a little longer than I realized and I teared up a couple times writing it! I hope you love it!!
"We did it!" Your daughter giggles happily as her father places her back down.
He's just helped hold her up to put the star on top of your six foot Christmas tree.
"It looks beautiful!" You say, coming to hug them both. Levi kisses you softly and smiles.
"We still have more to do!" Your seven year old is always very excited for the Christmas season. Not because of the toys, although that helps, but because of the lights and the magic, the movies and the music, the yummy foods, and the family time.
"Grandma Kuchel is coming over tomorrow to help, don't worry." Levis mom loves coming to see you. She dotes on all of you and spoils her granddaughter and even her new grandpup that you got at the shelter earlier in the year.
"Yay!" She loves her grandma and runs to hug her doggy who barks and plays with her.
You and Levi smile at the happy sight.
"I love you." He whispers, pulling you close.
"I love you too." You share another sweet kiss in front of your Christmas tree, before reaching to adjust a small gold star ornament.
It's taken a long time to get here, it hasn't always been easy, but it's been worth it.
"Daddy! Read to me!" Your little one is a daddies girl, and it warms your heart to see them together.
She goes to pick out a Christmas book, which is tradition for Levi to read the night you put up your tree.
You make mugs of hot chocolate for each of you and all go into the living room.
Levi gives the dog a chew toy so he'll settle in and the pup takes it to his bed in the corner.
As you and your daughter snuggle on the couch, Levi pulls out one of the many fleece blankets in the closet and comes to put it over you.
"Thank you sweetheart." You look at him fondly as he sits down with you both and picks up the book.
Just as he's about to start reading your daughter stops him.
"Daddy, why do you always wrap mommy in a blanket?" She notices he does this a lot, and even though you have blankets, every year he gets you another one.
"So she never gets cold, my little snowflake." Levi smiles at you as you brush his hair back.
She looks between the two of you, not quite understanding.
"Are you sick?" She asks you in a concerned voice.
"No my sweet girl. It's just, there was a time we didn't have this many blankets." You hug her.
"So you were cold?" She looks up at you.
"A little, but daddy was always there to keep me warm." You share a smile.
"Everything is fine now, so let's listen to daddy read, okay?" You two hold each other as Levi takes a sip of hot chocolate and begins.
"Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse" Levi reaches over and touches your daughters nose, making her giggle.
You smile and get lost in thought as Levi continues.
FLASHBLACK
Ten Years Ago
It's December, and you look around your tiny apartment, sighing that you barely have enough money to keep the electric on, so there's no way you can afford decorations.
It's your first year as a married couple. You thought it would be better than this. You've tried so hard but, times are tough.
You don't like to bother friends or family, because they have their own things to deal with.
You hear the door unlock and your husband comes in from work, taking his coat off.
"Levi!" You skip over to him and lean into his hug. Even if everything isn't going right, as long as you are together, the future is bright.
"Hi love, how was your day?" He asks, kissing you.
You bite you lip and he notices. "It's okay, tell me." He leads you to the small couch.
"They cut my hours back at work again." You hate to tell him this. You are part time already, and it's a seasonal job, but apparently they hired too much help.
Levi sighs and holds you. "It's okay. Don't worry. We'll be okay."
Levi closes his eyes and tries to believe this. You went into marriage thinking putting both your funds together would work nicely.
You had a beautiful wedding with friends and family, and an even better honeymoon. Everything was perfect.
But then you came back home, and things started to fall apart.
Old student debts, a couple minor but important medical problems, the car breaking down, a rent increase.
It's been one thing after another and no matter how hard you try, something else always comes up.
Levis mother has tried to help out but you don't want to make things hard for her. Same with your family.
So instead Levi picked up a second job while you tried to at least keep the one you had while finding another, but everyone wants a job right now.
So some nights you've made less food, you've sold some wedding presents that though you wanted, didn't necessarily need. And though it's getting colder, you purposely don't put the heat up as much as you'd like.
You try not to cry but Levi senses it.
He pulls back and holds you cheeks. "I promise, everything will be fine."
You nod and sniffle. "I know. I just want it to be better now." You move closer and rest your head on his chest. Your happy place.
He plays with your hair and watches you move up and down on his chest as he breathes.
"You know what we need? A Christmas tree." He says suddenly, surprising you.
"But we don't even have dinner!" Your logical side says.
He chuckles and kisses your forehead. "Come on, trust me."
And of course you do. So you both put on your sweaters and get the car running and he drives.
You see the tank nearing empty and frown.
"Stop that." Levi reaches out to hold your hand as he drives.
You put on the radio to Christmas music and listen to Frank Sinatra sing you Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
"Have yourself a merry little Christmas Let your heart be light Next year all our troubles, will be out of sight"
You squeeze Levis hand as you wish it were next year.
Levi pulls into a Christmas tree lot and you look around, smelling the fesh pine scent.
"We'll have to keep it small." He tells you, and you nod.
"Thats okay." You don't mind. You're actually feeling a little more optimistic already.
Holding hands and looking at all different ones and seeing what's in your budget, you settle on a pretty nice four foot tree that will fit just fine in your house.
Levi pays and loads it up and you get back in the car. "And look, some money for decorations." He leans over to kiss you as you smile.
You go to the store and pick out the cheapest lights you can find. All blue, but they look pretty. You pick out red garland as well and a tree skirt.
"This will do." You don't want to overspend on all the individual ornaments when you could use this money elsewhere.
You put the things in the car and on the way out notice an elderly gentleman not looking well off, playing a guitar and using his case for tips.
You go to stand by him and Levi comes over to you, kissing your cheek.
You pull out a few dollars and throw one into the case for the man.
He thanks you and you nod, getting back into the car and closing your eyes.
"That's a nice thing you did, love."
You start to sob suddenly and Levi leans over to comfort you. "It's okay, let it out."
"I feel so stupid. I keep thinking we aren't doing well because I can't even make you a decent dinner but here we have enough money to get a tree and that man has to sit outside in the cold and ask for it!"
You wet his shirt with your tears as he holds you. "We're going to be okay." He promises you.
You pull back and wipe your eyes and nod. "I know." You let out a sigh. "Thank you."
He kisses your forehead. "Come on, let's grab a little something, we've both had a long day." He holds your hand again as he drives to a tiny diner and you pick up a meal that's for one person.
"I don't mind being cold at night sometimes, but we have to eat." You say once your inside and have the meal on the table.
You scrounge around for some other food and see some vegetables that would go nicely and bread that isn't yet expired and end up making enough with that and the warm meal you bought to be enough for both of you.
"See? You make wonderful meals." Levi encourages you and you smile, thankful for him.
You sit and eat by candle light to save on the electric and it's pretty cozy. You eat well tonight and go to put up your tree.
You flip the light switch so you can admire it and gasp. "It's beautiful!" You love the green, blue and red. It's your perfect little Christmas tree.
Levi holds you in his arms and kisses you.
"Thank you." You say, resting on his chest as you look at the tree.
"You're welcome, love." He kisses your forehead, and soon after pulls you to bed.
He folds the blanket twice and wraps you in it, while he takes the sheet.
"I don't want you to be cold." You say, holding him tight.
"Don't you worry about me. You just hold me and keep me warm." He smiles as you nod and try to move your weight onto him.
You exchange soft 'I love you's as you drift off to sleep.
Levi wakes in the morning, kissing your sleeping form, knowing you don't have to wake up yet.
He's a little cold but not freezing, and you seem pretty warm still.
He starts to get ready for work, wondering if there's any extra side jobs he can do.
Last night he dipped into the money he wanted to use to buy you something nice with that tree. But you needed it, and he was happy to give it to you.
After making sure you're still sound asleep, he locks up and heads to work, stopping to use a few dollars to fill the gas some.
He makes a cup of tea at work before his shift. It's not great but at least this way he doesn't use your water or electric.
His phone rings suddenly and it's his mother calling.
"Mom, what are you doing up this early?" He asks.
"I know you've been working long hours and wanted to say hello." She tells him.
He smiles. He loves talking to her.
"How are you Levi? How's my daughter in law? I'd like to see you soon." She isn't far away but knows you've been trying to adjust to married life.
"We're getting by." He says vaguely, and Kuchel catches the way he says it.
"Levi, what's wrong?" She asks in her mom way that says not to lie to her.
Levi sighs. "We're just a little behind on bills. Things are kind of tough. She lost some hours at her job and is worrying." Levi doesn't mention not eating properly or being cold at night, but he doesn't have to.
"Honey! You need to call me! I can help you." Kuchel cannot believe he hasn't told her sooner. All she knows if you two are very happy together.
"I don't want to bother you! I'm.. I'm really trying here mom." He let's his voice crack. All he wants to do is take care of you like you deserve, and not have to have someone come to the rescue.
"You keep trying your best. I know you both are, don't worry. And don't be afraid to say something!" She says sternly.
"Okay.. um. Look I'll pay you back, but can I borrow a little money? For gas and to get her something nice? I'll figure the rest out." He hates having to ask this of her.
"Of course! I'll drive over later before you get off. She doesn't need to know. And I'll bring you a nice homemade meal. You say you got it at your work party." Kuchel thinks of anything she can do for you.
"Okay. Thank you. I should go clock in now, I'm a little late. But, I really appreciate this." She's the best mother he could ever ask for. And he will pay her back.
"You go to work, don't worry about anything. I love you." Kuchel hangs up and starts planning.
At home you wake up and text Levi 'Good morning' not expecting anything back yet as you know he's working.
You fold the blanket and put on your robe and flip the switch to go look at your Christmas tree.
You sit there for a while and look around your apartment. It isn't much, things are difficult, but it's yours, yours and Levis.
Since your hours were cut back you don't have much to do today, and yet are feeling good.
You go for a walk in town and say hello to people and look at all the nice things in display windows.
You see an older woman carrying packages and go to assist her.
"Thank you dear! Would you help me upstairs?" She asks, and you nod.
You help her set the things on her table. It's a nice place. She has a grand Christmas tree.
"Thank you. Oh! I forgot to mail this darn letter!" She pulls it out of a bag.
"Oh, I can go." You offer. You pass a mailbox on the way and don't want her to go out again.
"Would you? That would be such a help. If it's not too much trouble, give this list to the bakery next door."
She gives you a list a page long.
"My family is coming for Christmas." She explains.
"That's nice. Anything else I can do?" It makes you feel good to be useful.
"I think that's all. I appreciate it. What's your name?" She asks, and you tell her.
"What a nice name. Do you have a fella?" She digs around in her purse.
"I do." You smile.
"That's nice dear. I hope you're very happy."
You nod, and she hands you another envelope.
"It's not another letter, it's for you. Do with it what you want. Thank you."
She sends you on your way with the letter, list and envelope, and you drop the things off like she's asked.
You stand on a side street and open the envelope. There's a thank you note.
"Thank you for your kindness. It goes further than you think. We never know what someone is going through. I wish you all the happiness. Here's a little something to brighten your day."
You dig in the envelope again and there's a little money inside and a small gold star Christmas ornament.
You smile and sigh happily. It's enough to do a little something with, and truly make your day brighter.
You think of the man playing guitar last night and hope the small contribution you made, made a difference.
Later in the day Levi has visited his mom and she's given him a little money, some food, and a bunch of hope.
"And don't you dare keep things from me!" She smacks his arm lightly, and he promises not to.
"What's that wonderful smell?" Levi walks into the house that smells of spices as he carries his own bags.
Today, when you greet him, you are in a much better mood than yesterday.
"Levi!" You stop your cooking to help him put his things down. "What's all this?"
He kisses you and tells you the truth. "Mom came by. I didn't ask for much but she insisted. Mothers intuition, I guess."
You look at the pans of homemade food and grin and laugh happily, hugging him.
"She's so wonderful! I had a good day too!" You smile.
"I see, what's that amazing smell?"
"We have soup in the pot and veggies roasting in the oven. It's enough for days! I even got some fresh apples and oranges. Now we have too much food!" What a good problem to have.
You tell him about your day and the women you met.
"She was very kind. I used some of the money and bought what was on sale to make this, donated a few dollars to a childrens fund, and we still have some money aside for bills! Not much, but it'll help." You say positively.
Levi holds your cheeks and kisses your mouth. "See? We're okay."
You smile and hug him as you finish dinner.
You eat very well that night and put leftovers in containers to keep fresh for the coming days.
Afterwards you pull out the little star ornament and together place it on your tree.
Levi makes the packs of hot chocolate Kuchel included and you sit and read A Christmas Carol together.
You share fond looks and smiles, and steal kisses throughout.
"I love you sweetheart." You say to him as you lay on the couch together.
"I love you too." He squeezes your sides lovingly and sighs as you run your hands through his hair.
"I'm going to pick up some hours tomorrow. And someone will give me their shift too, so I'll get a whole days work in." You tell Levi, happy you could find something.
"That's great." Levi wishes you didn't have to worry, or work. Maybe one day.
You both get ready for bed and Levi holds out a bag for you. "It's still days till Christmas, but I want you to have it now."
You sit on the bed together and open the large bag, pulling out a large, beautiful green fleece blanket.
You gasp and stand to open it. "It's gorgeous!" You admire it and Levi smiles.
"Do you like it?" Your reaction says you do but Levi wants to make sure.
"Yes!" You throw your arms around him and hold the blanket between you.
Levi chuckles and kisses your cheeks and nose.
"It looks so expensive." You note, looking at him.
"Don't you worry. It's fleece. A warm but inexpensive material. Wool was out of our price range." Levi explains.
You hug him tight. "Thank you my husband. For the tree, the blanket, always being there for me, no matter what." Somehow, you always make it work.
He holds you and strokes your hair. "You never have to thank me, my wonderful wife. You make me so happy."
What started as a dreary holiday season has started to turn around nicely.
Levi tucks you into bed that night, wrapping you both in the new blanket, putting the old one on top for extra warmth.
For the first time in a month, you don't go to sleep cold.
"Thank you." You whisper as you lay in bed together.
"You're never going to be cold again. I promise." Things will get better starting now. You're both sure of it.
END FLASHBACK
"But I heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight, "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"
As you've been lost in thought, Levi has just finished reading.
You smile as you think of that first Christmas together. After that particular day, things really did turn around.
You both worked hard and things went your way, and slowly you caught up on your bills, had enough food every day, even enough money for small gifts, and as Levi promised, you went to bed warm every night.
You spent a lovely Christmas with friends and family and thanked Kuchel for her help, of which she brushed off and told you to always come to her. You send a thank you note to the woman you met, and you even found the guitar player again and made sure he had a nice meal.
Within a few years, thanks to steady jobs and promotions, your situation went from rough to fair to good to great. And you paid Kuchel back a thousand times over a few years later when you announced you were having a daughter.
"Mommy?" Your daughter looks up at you.
"Oh, sorry sweetie." You realize you had a tear in your eye.
"Are you okay?" She asks.
"Yes my love. I'm just very happy." You kiss her cheek and reach to hold Levis hand.
He knows what you've been thinking of, and is thankful that you've made all these new memories since.
Your daughter doesn't know the whole story, but does know one thing, and though she's been listening to her father read, she's been thinking of you.
She climbs off your lap and disappears into the hallway, your dog jumping up to follow his favorite person.
You look at Levi and smile. "Thank you."
He leans in to kiss you gently.
Suddenly your daughter comes back in with three other blankets and the dog following behind, making you laugh.
"What are you doing?"
She throws them all on you, spreading them out. Levi grins and watches.
She climbs back into your lap and hugs you. "You'll always be warm mommy. Right daddy?"
You smile widely and hold her tightly. "Thank you my sweet girl."
Levi leans over to hug you both. "That's right. And I love you both so much." He kisses you both back and fourth, making you laugh happily, even letting the dog up to cuddle with you.
Levi isn't sure how he got so lucky. He also always remembers that first Christmas, and how you stuck it out together.
All it took was a little help from loved ones, some kindness along the way, and a few fleece blankets.

Hello, love your writing🥰 could you do Q. Soulmate AU + 1) ‘Please don’t leave.’ with Billy? Maybe something a bit angsty (cause no way Billy would just easily hop on the whole soulmate thing train without any emotional inner battle) but fluff in the end? Thank you, appreciate it💘
Thank you very much 🥰 My first Soulmate AU. Yay!
Q. Soulmate AU 1. 'Please don't leave.'
-----------------------------------------------
Everyone was born with mark on the inside of their wrist - like a tattoo that not even the best laser surgery could get rid of. These marks were known as soulmarks.
There were two types of soulmarks, each the inverse of the other. They both looked similar – just a simple wavy line – but they were actually two halves of an infinity symbol that would only complete when you touched your soulmate’s skin for the first time.
Your parents had been lucky. Their marks completed in their teens when they got assigned to work together on a high school science project. Your best friend had also been lucky, finding her soulmate on a gap year in Europe. Your younger sister had found her soulmate six months ago, and was still enjoying the high that came with finding the one person who would understand you above all others. You… you were still looking.
You knew that statistically speaking, it was improbable to just run into your soulmate in a world full of seven billion people, but seeing those closest to you find their matches with such ease had made you overconfident. But the problem with overconfidence was that every disappointment hit that little bit harder.
You had tried all the sites, gone on every meet up event that New York City had to offer, even branching out to other cities and states… but still your soulmark stayed depressingly incomplete.
Which was why you were currently in some random dive bar, drinking more than was probably wise. You had gone all the way to Philadelphia that day, only to come back without so much as a man’s phone number, let alone a complete mark. You figured you deserved a night of drowning your sorrows.
You finished your fruity cocktail with a loud suck of your straw and was just about to order another when a voice from behind you did it for you. You turned to see a man who was far too handsome for such a rundown bar. He was even wearing a business suit.
‘Thanks,’ you said a little awkwardly.
He gave you a winning smile that you were sure could make many a women drop their panties on the spot, and then motioned to the stool next to you. ‘Mind if I join you?’ he asked.
You couldn’t help how your eyes flicked to his wrist, looking for his soulmark. It was incomplete, but you didn’t let yourself get your hopes up. Not this time. One disappointment was enough for one day.
But that didn’t mean you were going to deny his request. What harm was a little fun with a handsome stranger? You were already drowning your sorrows with alcohol; a meaningless hook-up would do the trick just as nicely.
‘Not at all,’ you said, giving him your best flirtatious smile.
Judging by the smirk on his face as he sat down, you both had the same idea of where the night would end.
----
You and the handsome stranger, Billy, actually had a lot in common, and you found yourself talking for hours before things led to you taking him home. You hadn’t even kissed yet.
Something that would soon be remedied you decided as you shimmied out of your jeans and laid back on your bed invitingly.
Billy had that smirk on his face again as he took off his shirt and crawled up over you. ‘Didn’t have you down as a lace kinda girl,’ he said, staring down at your matching black underwear set.
You shrugged. ‘I have layers.’
Billy chuckled. ‘From where I'm standing, you only have one left.’ He traced the lace of your bra with his thumb. ‘Shall we fix that?’
The heat in his eyes made your breath catch and your panties moisten. ‘Please,’ you said, just shy of begging.
Billy chuckled again and reached behind you to undo your bra’s clasp... and froze as soon as his hands touched you bare skin.
And you knew exactly why. The inside of your wrist was tingling, and you lifted it up to watch as your soul mark slowly filled itself in, creating the infinity symbol you had been searching for all this time.
‘It’s you,’ you whispered, looking up at Billy in wonder and relief.
So much relief.
You weren’t alone anymore.
Billy stared down at you, looking shell shocked, before he broke your heart with just one word.
‘No.’
He pushed himself off of you and scrambled to find his shirt.
‘Wait,’ you said, getting up from the bed just as quickly.
He ignored you. He didn’t even bother to put his shirt on once he found it, he just headed straight for the door.
‘Please don’t leave.’
Your voice was so small, you were surprised he heard it, but he must have done, because he stopped mere inches from your bedroom door. His shoulders tensed as he turned around, face stoic. It was so different from the playful and carefree Billy you had so far gotten to know.
‘I’m not what you’re after,’ he said. His voice was emotionless, but his eyes were another story. There was guilt there. There was doubt.
You traced the mark on your wrist with your thumb. ‘You’re my soulmate,’ you said simply. ‘You’re everything I’m after.’
‘It’s just a stupid mark.’ At your flinch, he sighed and walked back over to you bed, sitting on the edge. ‘I was a marine,’ he said, much less harshly.
You frowned, confused. What did that have to do with anything?
He soon explained.
‘I’ve spent my life being controlled by someone or something.’ He tapped his wrist. ‘This mark is just the next in a long line.’
You sat down next to him and put your hand in his, your soulmarks almost touching. You knew you still had a chance when he didn’t instantly pull away from you. ‘It doesn’t have to be,’ you whispered.
Billy let out a huff of humourless laughter. ‘Doesn’t it? Would you even want me for more than one night if it hadn't changed?’
‘I don’t know,’ you said honestly. ‘But I do know that I enjoyed your company tonight. Back in the pub. I had fun, and for a little while, I didn’t even think about finding my soulmate. You don’t know how rare that is for me. I’m not asking you to propose or anything. I don’t want to control you. I just… I need to know. I need to know if we really are as compatible as the universe says we are.’
Billy stared at your joined hands for a moment before looking up to meet your eyes. The uncertainty was all over his face now.
‘Please don’t leave,’ you said again.
Billy’s grip on your hand tightened, and you fought not to smile at what it meant.
‘Okay,’ he said at last. ‘Let’s see how good the universe’s matchmaking skills are.’

When you got home from that mind boggling day at work, you were met with worried faces and smothered with hugs from Betts and Jaz and you happily returned them, and then went on to smother your daughter with hugs and kisses out of relief, claiming that you ‘just missed her so much’ after a long day.
Obviously, due to the incident that occurred at the company, work was out of the question for the next few weeks until police could conduct further investigation, or so you were told. Everyone was still very shaken up about it, including yourself, so a few days off were accommodating gesture from the company. The next few days leading up to the following week were mostly spent at home, either leaving to drop Ava off at school or running out to get some groceries.
Regardless of the days off from work, that most would find relaxing and enjoying, you were on edge. Sleep didn’t find you easily for the next few nights, your nights and days were mostly spent thinking about the man you and Billy had encountered. You couldn’t get it off your mind, even when you tried distracting yourself. Maybe Billy was right, that the man was just lying to save himself from the highly unnecessary assault. It was the only thing you could think about.
And what happened after with Billy.
“-And then, after I thanked him, he tried to kiss me! Or at least I think that’s where it was going,” You exclaimed, standing by the kitchen entrance, replaying the events of that crazy day to Jaz, who was moving around the kitchen, in search of something to eat. “And he might get called in to give a statement the same time me so, yay me,” You fake cheered.
“The nerve of him,” Jaz scoffs and shakes her head, disapprovingly. “I’ll remind you, that we can still-“
“I’m going to again, decline vandalizing anything of Billy’s in advance, because I know what you’re about to say.”
“Okay I mean, fine, whatever,” Jaz said, as she threw her hands up in defeat. “I still think you should reconsider though.”
“Thanks for the offer, but still no.”
"Ughhh," jaz loudly let out what might've been her hundredth groan of the morning since walking into the kitchen, "I'm so hungry."
"Why don't you just make something? Or eat some cereal? We have more than enough." You added, referring to the endless amount of groceries you had time to get in the previous weeks.
"I know, but I'm so lazy.” She dragged out. “ I'd have to reach a bowl... then get the milk.., and then pour that milk in that bowl that I worked so hard to reach for,” she exaggerated, and opened the fridge, to dig into it looking for anything she could find. "it's just too much. Plus, today is not that kinda day. It's a 'spend all day on the couch' kinda day.”Jaz hums as she closed the refrigerator door, signaling that she found something, and pulls out a slice of pizza, biting into it.
“Hey, it’s pretty quiet this morning. Where’s Ava?” She asked, taking a large distracting bite of her pizza.
“Oh, Betts took her to this children’s, book reading thing, all day. They left pretty early.”
Jaz hums in return, taking another distracting bite of her pizza, before scarfing it down with a glass of water, making you narrow your eyes at her.
"Isn't it a bit too early to be eating pizza? It's 10am." You questioned.
She answered, with her mouth full. "Maybe.., but you have to ask yourself, do stomachs have open and closing times like a store does?"
You thought about her comment for a second, finding some truth. "Huh," you whispered to yourself in thought, "I guess I never thought of it that way." Jaz grinned, proud that she may have convinced you to agree with her.
Just then, you heard your phone ring, and when you’d picked up, it was someone from the station.
You got a call from an agent named, Dinah Madani, a name you hadn’t heard before, and you sounded confused on the phone, because on that crazy day after work, you’d had a conversation with a Sergeant Mahoney, who you told you that he would be contacting you. But you didn’t read further into over the phone, and agreed to go in to the address that was given to you. Just when you grabbed your coat and we’re about to leave, you got an out of character offer, from your best friend.
Yo
“…you, Jazmyn Carrera, want to give up your Saturday, to spent it at the police station?” You narrowed your eyes and specified, in a bewildering tone. “What happened to your ‘spend all day on the couch’ thing you had going on?
She shrugged, like it made all the sense in the world. “They’ll be other Saturdays.” She voiced, running to grab her coat and returning to the door, “Yeah I’ll…, keep you company.”
“Um…okay, sure, yeah. I guess I could use the company.”
She muttered a small ‘great’ and passed you, as you stood there for a few seconds, still puzzled, before brushing it off and walking to the door. Jaz noticed the puzzled look on your face, and turned to reassure you.
“Don’t worry, I think most of the warrants the cops have on me have already been recalled or settled in court of law, so we’re fine,” She shrugged, and patted your shoulder, before walking out of the apartment, and you followed behind, hoping that she was joking.
Taking the subway was something you had to again, plug into your routine recently, still not having found your car keys. You were still bummed about it, and you’d informed the police, and hoped that maybe if they found something they’d contact you about it, but it had been over a week now, and you still hadn’t gotten any word that they’d found it. During the train ride though, you found you were correct about how bizarre it was that Jaz wanted to tag along, because she spent the entire 15 minutes trying to convince you to agree with her.
“-Just think about it,” Jaz said, as you both walked up the stairs, and out of the entrance of the subway.
“Jaz,” you stop walking and face her, “we’re not egging his car.” You continue walking and she speeds up to keep her pace beside you.
“Okay, I get it. You don’t wanna use eggs, that’s fine, I mean prices aren’t what they used to be, I know. But I gave you other options, like-like glitter bombing.” She holds out her hand, and uses her fingers to count her points. “It’s fast, it’s cheap-“
“We’re not glitter bombing it either!” You interrupt, and stop walking again to face her. “Is this the reason why you wanted to come? To convince me to agree?”
She gives you an obviously fake confused look before shaking her head. “Mm, I don’t what you’re talking about…” she trailed off, before beginning to walk away.
“Jaz I know you, okay,” You reminded her and stopped her from walking again, “when have you ever went into a police station, willingly?
For as long as you knew Jaz, she was always the kind of person to never forgive or forget. She was a someone who held grudges, even if they weren’t her own, which was her own way of showing that she cared, and that she had your back. When Billy left, Jaz was by your side the whole time. She was there for all those long days and sleepless nights.
She was there when you found out you were pregnant with Ava.
You understood her anger. She was angry for you.
“Huh, maybe I did kinda give myself away,” she tilts her head and thinks to herself, before continuing, “but he deserves it! A hundred times over too.” You nod in agreement, and she continued.
“For ripping your heart out, stomping on it, playing whack-a-mole with it, then blonde voyaging right out of your life!” She articulated, throwing her hands up in an angry gesture.
Puzzled, you corrected her. “It’s bon voyage, and that’s not how you use that in a sentence.”
“It’s not blonde?-whatever- I’m just saying,” a stern expression paints her face, and she sighs, “ I remember what it was like for you after Billy left, okay. It was hell, okay?”
“Jaz,” you sighed, “you’re right, it was a very, very shitty time for me, and thank you for hating him right along with me,” you started walking again and put your hand on her shoulder, “even though it is very tempting…, it won’t fix anything.”
You could tell that Jaz didn’t like your answer, but she eventually accepted. “Okay,” she sighed and crossed her arms, “if you don’t want me to, then I won’t.”
“Thank you,” you said. “I really do appreciate the sentiment though.”
“Did he ever tell you where the hell he’s been anyway? Or why he just, disappeared? I mean, what you guys had…, that shit, was love, if I’d ever seen it.”
You looked down at the ground at that, your mood shifting due to the reminder.
“He used to make you, so happy,- like I used to catch smiling to yourself, and you used to practically click your heels whenever-“
“Okay, that’s a lie, I would not click my heels,” you corrected, holding out your hands, “and…I  didn’t really ask him, but he said that it was ‘complicated,’ whatever that means,” you scoffed. “ it was just him trying to make up an excuse, and not face up to what he did, ‘cause the damage he left was right in his face. ”
Jaz watched you sympathetically as you spoke. “I wish I had an answer for Ava- I wish I had an answer for myself, one that hurt less than the truth anyway…”  you trailed off and let out a humorless laugh, as you reached the police station, and sighed.
“That I was just another name added to his long list of women that he’d fooled over the years. He wasn’t happy, and he didn’t know how to break it off, so he took the easy way out, because he didn’t have the balls to tell me. And now, I don’t know if he’s just trying to entertain himself for the time being, by trying to weasel his way back into my life, because it doesn’t matter. Because his shit doesn’t work on me anymore.” You voiced, shrugging.
Jaz looked, like she felt bad for bringing it up, but you assured her it was fine, before you made your way into the police station.
The station you were called into looked office like, and when you got there, you were escorted to a waiting area, and were told you would be called in by an agent. It was different from any other station you’d been to, and looked more like it were headquarters for company.
You could see through the windows, and the people in the rooms could see you right back, as they were made of glass. Even though it wasn’t a typical police station, being in the building with that many police made you think back to the last time you were in a police station. After Billy left, it was the only place you knew for months straight. And it also made you think back to the first time you were ever in a station.
After that horrific night. The night that you could never forget.
When you got to the waiting area you weren’t surprised by the face that met yours, his head tilting up to look at yours, with a large smile across it, as you approached.
Speak of the devil…” you lowly muttered to Jaz, annoyance in your voice.
Billy was dressed in his regular suit and tie, and his coat in hand. You hadn’t seen or spoken to him since that night he’d dropped you off at your apartment and tied to, what you thought was, kiss you.
“Well, I think I saw a vending machine on our way in, and since you won’t let me swipe his keys so we can mess with his car,  I don’t think I’ll be able to control my sticky fingers, so I’m gonna go get some snacks. And In the words of or  lovely Ava, just yelp for help.”
You nod with a laugh, as Jaz walks back in the direction you both came, and you walk over to the waiting area, where Billy is already seated.
“Good morning to you,” he says with a smile, Was that, Jaz that I just saw?” He asks, motioning to the place you were standing before.
“Yup, she saw a vending machine on her way in and…you know her and her snacks,” you sit in the only seat left, next to Billy, “you can’t keep ‘em apart.”
“Right, I remember, she was always very.. serious about her food.” He said nodding. You both were quiet for a minute, which was beyond awkward, and he continued. “How have you been? I-I haven’t seen you since-“
“Since we escaped that building of doom? I’m fine. I just wanna do this and go.”  You could tell that Billy agreed, but then he looked like he had something on his mind, which he tried to voice.
“Uh, I’ve been meaning to talk to you, about the other day,-“
“Billy, there’s nothing to talk about, because nothing happened, and nothing was going to happen. Okay? No chance.” You blurted out, ending the conversation before it began. Billy seemed a bit disappointed at your answer, but nodded anyway.
“Alright, okay. But there was also something else I wanted to talk about.”
You didn’t really believe him, but you decided to hear him out. “I’m listening.”
“So that guy, that we ran into in the building, I think we should… keep that between us.”
“You shifted in your seat, confused. “What do you mean? You mean, keep that from the police?”
“Yeah, I just think, it’d be, smarter to not tell anyone.”
“Not even the police? It could probably help then catch the guys you know, if we told them what the guy told us. Like how we heard they were sent by some guy, and how they were looking for somethi-“
“Y/N,” he sighed, “It would be better to keep it to ourselves.”
“But why?”
“Let’s just say…,”. He hesitated to speak, “that some of the cops in this place are not very, loyal to the force, okay? If we tell them anything we heard from that guy, it’d be in the system, and it could get back some people, that, trust me on this, we don’t want it getting back to.”
“What people? Billy, you’re not making any sense, at all-,” Billy touching your arm, causes you to stop talking and look at him. His hand felt tense on your arm, a serious look stretched across his face, and his eyes looked to have a mix of worry and softness in them, which you found to be incredibly strange for dealing with the police, since the police’s job was to help people. Maybe he did know what he was talking about, since he ran into police a lot at his job.
“Just, please… trust me. Okay?”
You hesitated, but eventually nodded, and put your hands up in defense, “Okay. I won’t say anything.” And your works seemed to relax Billy, prompting him to take his hand off your arm. “But for future reference, you should really stop saying that, because it absolutely, does not have the effect you think it does.” you admitted to him.
He relaxed at that, and you turned to make a comment at what he was wearing.“Is that three piece suit glued to you or something? It’s Saturday.”
He chuckled at that, and moved closer to you, if it was possible, and put his arm around the neck of your chair. “It in fact, not glued to me, and it comes off pretty easy, if that’s what you’re worried about. I’d be glad to show-“
“Forget it. I regret having asked in the first place. Leave it to only you to that.” You expressed, lightly shoving his arm away.
“Yeah, but you used to love it.”
“Hm, I wonder what changed?” You voiced, putting your finger on your lip in a thinking stance. “Anyway, I got a call from, an Agent Madani this morning? Is that who called you in too?”
“Ahh, yeah. Not personally on the phone, but I’m not surprised that she’s in charge of this case. She’s very… persistent in her work. Stops at nothing to get to the bottom of a case.”
“Wait, you know her?” You asked, shifting in your seat at his information.
“Yeah…” he sighed deeply, “sometimes the police and my guys clash. So I’ve ran into her a few times on the job. ”
“Huh, you seem to run into a lot of people on said job.” You remarked, raising your eyebrows and leaning back in your chair, and resting your head on the wall behind you and staring at the ceiling.
Billy didn’t say anything for a minute or so, opting to just smirk to himself, which you noticed, and you lowered your gaze from the ceiling to look at him.
“Is something funny?”
He looks over at you, a smirk still on his face, as if he found something amusing.“-No, nothing’s, -nothing’s funny at all.” He shrugged and put his hands up in defense.
After he didn’t say anything more, you went back to resting your head on the wall behind you when him speaking, made you look at him again.
“It’s just that, if I didn’t…know any better, I’d say that,” he closed one of his eyes as if he was thinking, “you sound a little jealo-“
“Then you don’t know any better, because you actually thought to finish that sentence.” You interrupted, his words making you sit up in your chair. “I only commented, because that’s what you said last time about the, sergeant guy, and I just wanted to know who I was going to be dealing with. Obviously.” You shared, dragging out the last word.
He was still smirking, so you opted to share further.
“If you think that I’m jealous,” you sat up further, pointing to yourself, “then that tie is on a little too tight. Like you’ve officially, lost your mind. We’re not together anymore you can do whatever you want.”
“Okay,” he cleared his throat and sat up straighter in his seat, a smirk still painting his face. “If you say so.”
“I do say so.”
He shrugged. “Cool.”
“Great.”
“Fine.”
“Fine.”
You both sat in silence for the next few minutes, and you thought, actually had hoped that it would’ve stayed that way, but Billy started another conversation.
“…So I never got chance to ask you, ‘cause we were busy, trying not captured and stuff in that building, but you and this Nick character-“
“Oh god…” you groaned to yourself.
“-Are you like” he looked like he had a hard time getting the words out, “together or something?”
“Billy…”
“-I mean if you wanted flowers, I could’ve gotten you flowers,-like I was getting to that,” he sat up now, and looked perplexed, “And I mean the ones he got you, anyways, you told me, that you don’t even like those kinds-“
“It’s the thought that counts Billy, and not that it’s any of your business, but if you must know, we’ve been on two dates.” You paused before adding, “so far. ‘Cause they’ll probably be more, actually.”
“So far, huh.”
“Yup.”
“Well, I just have a weird feeling about this guy, okay? I’ve seen him, somewhere, I can’t pin it down, but he just seems a little… off to me.”
“Uh, you’re a little off, Billy, if you think that you’re going to interfere with my dating life, because you ‘have a bad feeling about guy,” you spat, using air quotes and a mocking tone. “He’s a gentleman and a nice guy.”
“Well, you know what they say,” he said, leaning back in his chair, “Nice guys finish last.”
“Well this nice guy, is In the lead, so.”
Billy  looks off into the distance, and runs his tongue over his teeth in frustration. “That’s great.”
“Cool.”
“Fine.”
“Fin-,” just as you were about to finish your sentence, you both hear a loud knocking on the glass behind you, prompting you and Billy to turn around, and when you do, you’re both met with a man, annoyance painting his face.
“Are you guys done!?” He threw his hands up in frustration, and his voice sounded muffled. “I can hear you through the glass. Jeez,” He complained, scoffing.
You mouthed a quick ‘sorry’, while Billy said nothing and turned back around, irritation on his face.
You both sat there in silence after that, not saying anything, when the loud sound of heels coming towards you, prompts you to look up. It was a woman, and she was pretty, and her short curly hair falling just around her neck, fit her perfectly. She approached you, and introduced herself.
“Hello, Ms.Y/L/N, I’m Agent Dinah Madani, Homeland Security, we spoke on the phone. I hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long,” She said with a smile.
You noticed an accent when she spoke, her voice sounding friendly. But her smile didn’t seem very genuine to you and looked more, forced, but you otherwise took the hand she held out to you and shook it.
“Oh, no, you’re fine, I wasn’t waiting too long.” You replied, nodding your head. She answers with a nod as well and a smile, and shifts her attention next to you, to acknowledge Billy, who stood from his seat.
“Agent Madani,” he started, “we can’t keep meeting like this. Seems to be a pattern we should break.”
“I couldn’t agree more, Mr. Russo,” she says with a single nod and a slight smile, that again, seemed forced, “please, follow me, Ms.Y/LN.”
The Agent, who went by Madani, took you to a grey painted room, that looked more like a conference room, if anything. When you walked in, you noticed a yellow folder on the table, which was on the opposite side of where you stood, and you guessed that’s where Agent Madani would be sitting.
“Please, have a seat Ms.Y/L/N,” she gestured to the seat opposite of her, confirming what you thought and you took her offer. “I really do hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long. I was just gathering information.” She sat opposite of you now, folding her hands before her.
“No, that’s okay, it wasn’t too much of a wait.” You replied. “Um, did you say that you were Homeland Security?” You asked, to confirm.
“Correct. Most of the time when it’s a large company like this one, with a situation as big as this one, we get pulled in. Is that okay?”
You found it weird that she was asking you that, since it wasn’t like you had much of a choice in selecting which kinds of police would look into the situation, but you nodded anyway.
“Oh, yeah no, that’s… fine, I guess. I mean,” you shrugged, “I just don’t know how these things go.”
“Right. Well, I have a few questions for you, pertaining to what happened that day.” She says and you nod, a sign for her to ask her questions.
“Can you tell me how you were able to get out of the building?”
“Well, I was with Mr. Russo, the entire time, so it was really him who got me out of there.”
“And I was told it was you, Mr.Russo, and another individual, who were the only ones that were able to make it out the building, without police interference.”
“Yes.” You nodded.
“And you were together the entire time?”
“…yes. That’s correct.”
“And… neither one of you were harmed? There were several others, who made it out, that had to be taken to the E.R.”
“Yeah, I know it was, terrible, but Mr. Russo made sure we got out of there unharmed.”
“Hm.” She made a slight face as she bummed to herself, “ I find it… a little hard to believe, that you all just, made it out unharmed.”
Huh. This was sounding more like an interrogation, than getting a statement taken.
Your eyebrows furrowed at that. “Um, Agent Madani, Mr. Russo was in the Special Forces, and owns his own Private Military Firm, so I don’t think it’s that far fetched…”
She nodded, “Well, these guys were able to take down his entire team that he placed in the building, who are also very skilled, so I wouldn’t say it was too crazy…”
“I…guess we were just lucky.” You said, shrugging.
“Lucky, huh?” You nodded, at her question.
When you didn’t say anything she continued, “Well, Ms.Y/L/N, would you say that you were lucky, when you came into contact with one the intruders? When you were alone, and not in fact with Mr.Russo, like you previously said before?”
Shit.
You fixed your posture and swallowed after her words, being caught off guard, and the Agent spoke again.
“They were able shut down the power in the in the building, which also shut down most of the cameras. Except for the ones that were battery powered, of course.”
“Of course.” You repeated in a slight mocking manner.
“We saw that you both, moved out of view of the camera, so can you tell me what happened after?”
You fiddled with your fingers, thinking about what Billy told you. “Again, I was just really lucky. When he saw me he just, left me alone. And I was unharmed.”
“Is that so?”
“Yeah…”
She didn’t say anything for a minute, and just stared at you, with a slight smirk on her face, and you stared back, feeling uncomfortable.
“Well, I’m glad, that you were unharmed, of course.” She finally said.
“Thank you. So am I…” you lowly trailed off, as she stood up now, grabbing the folder that was on the desk.
“And the company’s been running, for over 20 years now?”
You quickly counted in your head, then answered. “Uh, Yeah, I would say.”
And it’s run by your boss, a Mr.Harrison Wilburne? He’s a very well known man.”
“Well, he’s rich, so…, and like you said, it’s a pretty big company.”
“Of course, Wilburne industries. I hear that every year, he throws these fancy events, for a fundraiser for charities?”
“Yeah,” you sighed, relaxing a bit. “He invites other rich people that he knows, and us employees get to attend so…I think he’s a pretty great person, for the fundraisers of course. We actually have one coming up soon.” She give another one of her forced smiles, as a response.
“Do you… know where your boss was, during all this?”
“Uh… I actually don’t, I didn’t really see him that day, if he was there at all.”
“Hm..,” she trailed off, “ and let me ask you, you are in a very high position, at Wilburne industries, one of the top spots?”
“Yes, I am.”
“I understand that, it didn’t take you very long to get to that position level. It takes some people years, to get to where you are now. It’s impressive.”
“Thank you, but I got lucky there too. I mean, yeah I did work my ass off, but Mr. Wilburne did, give me the chance of a lifetime.”
She started walking now, around the table you sat, which made you shift uncomfortably.
“I guess you did get lucky.” She said, her smile all too forced. She rounded the table and stood near you now, the folder she previously walked in with, in her hand, and she continued.
“But I mean, it must’ve helped that nobody knew who your father was.”
You froze at the words that left her mouth, caught off guard.
-No. This wasn’t what you came in for.
 She can’t know that.
Maybe she didn’t really know anything and was just trying to intimidate you. For some reason.
For whatever reason.
Your eyes shot up to meet hers, as you felt a deep panic begin to rise in you, as she leaned back on the desk, staring at you, and you stared right back, more of a glare really, when you spoke.
“What did you say?”
“Oh, I said, your father.” She repeated matter of factly. “He’s, a pretty famous guy too, been in the news a lot lately.” She opened the folder she had in her hand and began reading from it. “Thomas St.James, A.K.A of course, Mr. White, leader of one of the biggest crime empires New York’s City’s every seen.”
Why the fuck did she know that?
There was no way she would know that unless she did some digging.
Who the hell was this lady and why the fuck was she digging into your life?
You clenched your jaw after she spoke, still glaring at her, enraged. You frozen in place, furious, but she didn’t seem to care though, as she flipped through the folder she had in her hand.
“That has nothing, to do, with the situation at hand, Agent Madani-“
“He built an empire, from drug money, and was on the police’s radar for years, and the FBI’s most wanted list, but could only be identified, as Mr.White, because he always got away clean. White slate.”
She flipped through the folder as she quoted something from it.
“And the night that he was uncovered twenty-five years ago, police found heavy substantial evidence in St.James home, revealing him to be Mr.White, which was only after police went through the St.James home, due to discovering a-“
She stopped in her reading abruptly, before returning her eyes to yours, and your eyes shot away from hers at that, staring at the far wall ahead of you, swallowing hard. You grasped the edge of the table now, your jaw clenching even harder and you couldn’t get any words out, and she continued reading.
-due to discovering a brutal crime scene.”
Your eyes began to burn now, the tears that were forming threatening to spill any second, as Madani continued quoting what she had in her hand.
“Police were near by, when.. they heard screams, at the St.James home and responded, finding a neighbor who had…discovered the suspect Thomas St.James, with the murder weapon in hand, a knife, near t-the victim, St.James’s wife… Olivia St.James.”
The tears fell now, quickly streaming down your face, as Madani read on.
“The neighbor, who was close to the couple, went over pick something up for the couple’s c-child, Y/N St.James, who was… attending a s-sleepover with the neighbor’s daughter. The victim’s sister, Elizabeth Y/L/N, took custody of the child, giving the child her sister’s maiden name. Although, St.James was charged with the crimes pertaining to his criminal empire, and the murder of his wife, he has maintained his innocence, ever since.”
Madani closed the folder now and your eyes shifted to hers, the tears still streaming down your face. Her mouth was agape, and she looked like she wanted to say something, but struggled to.
“I, uh…I didn’t know that he- I didn’t hear that in the news-,” she paused, “I didn’t know, that was going to be in there.”
“Can I ask you, what the point of that was? Any of that?”
“I just- I thought that you could answer some questions on a case that I’ve been working on involving-“
She doesn’t get to finish whatever she was going to say when the door burst open, and a man coming in, his angry gaze on Madani. His grey hair was styled, along with his grey goatee, and he wore a suit.
“Madani!” He yelled, “I thought I told you one of the other agents would be taking over for this,” he reminded the Agent, and you guessed that the question was rhetorical one, but Madani answered anyway.
“Yes..sir. But all the other agents weren’t available at the time so, I took over.” She took and breath, and replied, you could noticeably see that she having a bit of a stand off, with the man that you assumed was her boss.
“…Right..” he trailed off, staring at her with a stern face, before turning to you. “Carson wolf, Ma’am, I apologize for the way that my agent acted, for what was supposed to be a simple appointment for taking a statement,” he held his hand out to shake yours, while glaring at Madani, which you shook in return, “You’re free to go, Ma’am.”
They seemed to be having a stare-off when you leave the room, rushing to find Jaz, so you could go home. On your way out, you didn’t see Billy, and you assumed that he must’ve been in another room, getting his actual statement taken.
Nothing about what just happened made sense. If Madani had questions about a case you knew something about, which you doubted, why didn’t she just ask you? Or was she using what she knew about you father as leverage, because she believed she wouldn’t get the answers to those questions.
But who did she have questions about?

She was going into the Iceberg Lounge for the first time in more than a year, and she was going to get some fucking answers.
Bruce was gone by the time y/n woke up.
Following a lead, was all his text message said. She sighed a little, unsure how long he’d slept, but glad that he had slept. Sometimes, that was all she could ask for.
And besides, she had to follow a lead of her own.
She went out and straight to the wig shop, selecting something that was as different from her own hair as she could get. The shop owner showed her how to put it on, then she went straight home to get ready after a quick meal.
She dressed carefully, putting on her old work uniform from the Iceberg Lounge. One of them had been covered in blood, but the other still fit, albeit a little tighter now. It was amazing what not running for your life could do to your body, she thought as she buttoned the small bra-like shirt. She’d gained a bit of healthy weight.
She put on heavy makeup, much darker than she would ever wear, and put on the high-end wig she had purchased just for this occasion. When she looked in the mirror, she barely recognized herself.
Perfect.
Lena was meeting her behind the Iceberg Lounge in less than an hour.
Y/n decided to take the subway instead of her own car. She also kept her taser in her coat pocket. Just in case.
She knew Bruce would be upset that she was going back to the club. That’s why she hadn’t told him. And really, she reasoned to herself, she hadn’t had much time. She’d kind of tried to jump him immediately when he’d gotten home. And then they had gone right to sleep afterwards.
He’d taken the extra contact lens and earpiece for some reason, but she didn’t need it.
All she was doing was seeing her friend and listening to gossip. Maybe serving some drinks, maybe flirting. Asking a couple of questions.
That was all.
Her heart picked up the pace as she rounded the last corner, the all-too familiar back door coming into sight. A million tiny memories flashed through her mind as she inhaled the smell of rain-soaked exhaust and cigarette smoke. A man shoving her against the bricks. Bruce’s arms around her as the Batman. A bullet barely missing her. Marie’s blonde hair shimmering in the street lights. A kiss in the rain on a nearby rooftop.
Breathe, she reminded herself as she saw Lena.
“Bouncer’s newer,” Lena mumbled as they linked arms. “He knows me, tries to flirt, so I’ll deflect his attention and we’ll head straight downstairs. They’ve got extra security on the elevators these days but it shouldn’t be too hard to get by.”
Breathe, y/n told herself again. “You sound like a spy already.”
Lena ignored her as she yanked open the back door.
As promised, the bouncer was immediately flirting with Lena, who batted her eyelashes prettily and introduced y/n with a fake name. She was the new girl, Lena said, only her second time downstairs. Lena had promised to teach her some tricks.
The bouncer was smiling and blushing as he thought about exactly what tricks Lena might be teaching downstairs.
Y/n was barely listening.
The sounds, the smells, the lights, all of it was overwhelming. Her mind was an onslaught of memory after memory, terror after terror. For one brief moment, she was afraid that she couldn’t move her body without a command from someone else. The last time she’d been inside this place, she’d been drugged.
Then Lena was tugging on her hand and she was able to step forward on her own and into the employee elevator, past a guard with a mustache and a broken nose.
“You don’t look so good,” Lena said after the doors slid shut.
Y/n closed her eyes and took a shaky breath. “I think I might have a panic attack.”
“If you get me in trouble here–”
“I won’t, I’m fine. Besides, if you just took me up on my offer–”
“I don’t need your fiance’s money,” Lena said for the thousandth time. She pinched the bridge of her nose. “Listen, just get what you need and get out before you get recognized. I’m risking a lot by bringing you here.”
Y/n grabbed Lena’s hands with both of her own. “I know. God, I know. I’m going to be careful, I swear.” Because her getting caught and getting Lena in trouble wouldn’t mean Lena getting fired. It meant that Lena would be beaten within an inch of her life and her debts would multiply. Or worse, her son might be in danger.
The doors slid open, music pouring out.
Y/n’s heart stuttered, but she straightened her spine and followed Lena straight to the bar.
“I’m in section three tonight, you can shadow me from there until you get the hang of things,” Lena said, all business now that there were people everywhere. Y/n was immediately on alert. She marked faces that looked familiar, hoping to spot a potential target or maybe the girl who had disappeared. She was hoping, more than anything, that the girl wasn’t actually missing. She was hoping she’d been smart and simply made a run for it.
“Busier than I remember,” y/n murmured as they both took a drink tray to section three’s guests. There were also more dancers–pole dancers, to be exact. Strippers. And it looked like one half of the private rooms had been excavated to create private booths.
“But slightly less sleazy, if you can believe,” Lena muttered back. “Only slightly.”
They served drinks, made small talk, even distributed Drops to some of the patrons. Y/n’s gut clenched when she thought about Bruce seeing her hand out drugs.
“See either of the girls you mentioned?” y/n asked after half an hour had gone by. They were at the bar again, picking up drink orders. It was almost too easy to slip back into the club’s rhythm. Things were slightly different but really it was like nothing had changed. The essence of the place was the same. The sights, the sounds, the smells, the shitty patrons. All of it was the same.
“No. Selina usually worked upstairs, but Annika…she was with the mayor a lot.” Lena’s eyes darted around. Y/n knew they were thinking the same thing–girls from this place didn’t show back up alive when they went missing. And now neither did the rich and powerful.
“Anyone else she hung out with?” y/n asked as she hefted the drink tray. It was much busier than it had ever been while she worked there. Things were less exclusive. Probably the Penguin or the club’s real owner figured out they would make more money by letting more people downstairs.
Lena tilted her head slightly to a table the next section over. A balding man sat with a group, all doing Drops and getting generally shitfaced. Drops hadn’t been as big of a deal a year ago, either. She frowned. She thought the bust of that guy Maroni had put a stop to the Drops. Apparently not in the Iceberg Lounge. Not if the amount they were handing out to patrons was any indication.
She recognized one of the girls at the table, Carla, she thought her name was. She had never talked to her, really.
“Carla,” Lena murmured to answer her question as they served drinks to the table. Annika had spent time with Carla, then. Y/n tried not to be obvious as she studied the girl in question.
“Hey, gorgeous. You new?” a man said as he grabbed y/n’s wrist. She tried to contain her shudder and forced a smile to her lips. She forced her fist to loosen.
“I sure am. Save me a dance later?” she said with a fake flirtatious smile.
Images flashed through her head again and took her breath away. Dancing with Bruce. With Maxwell. The private room, light turning from green to red, a cloud of mist in her face. Blood on her hands. Bruce’s blood. Maxwell’s blood. Marie’s blood.
With a trembling breath, she had to turn away. It’s over, she told herself. All of that stuff was over. She didn’t work at the club anymore. She wasn’t trapped. Maxwell was dead, the old mayor behind bars, and she was going to make sure it stayed that way in next month’s trial. Besides–the room she’d been drugged in was now gone, a private and shadowed booth in its place. The rooms on the other side of the dance floor were all red. But the one she’d been in was gone. She forced herself to take another deep breath.
“That’s her,” Lena said, effectively distracting y/n’s chaotic thoughts. “Selina.”
The woman in question had bright red hair that was cut short, eyeing and smiling at several of the men as she made her way towards the table they were still serving.
“--not do this right now?” Selina was saying as she passed by.
Y/n went to follow her, but Selina stopped and turned, eyeballing the bald man at Carla’s table. Lena poked a sharp finger into her back to keep her moving.
“Don’t be so obvious. Get the next order so I don’t get in trouble,” Lena hissed in her ear as she tugged y/n along behind her.
As y/n walked past, she heard Selina say, “Hey, aren’t you the DA?”
Another memory flashed through her head. Hadn’t the DA learned his lesson last year when the assistant district attorney had been killed? Now he was here, in the Iceberg Lounge, doing things he shouldn’t be doing. A wave of rage washed through y/n. She clenched her fists and struggled to keep the anger off of her face.
She had to focus on doing what she needed to do without getting Lena in trouble. She knew what men like the Penguin did to the girls down here to punish them. Her shoulder still ached sometimes with a ghost of pain from the night she’d been beaten.
Y/n cast a look over her shoulder and met eyes with Selina. The girl frowned as the DA leaned in and said something. Selina blinked and turned back to the man at her side, resting one palm on his knee.
She finally caught up with Lena at the bar.
“I need to talk to her,” y/n said to Lena. “Her friend Annika was kidnapped or something.”
Lena went still. “It’s–don’t tell me this shit is starting again.” Her hands shook ever so slightly.
“I don’t know,” y/n said honestly. “But powerful men connected to this place–that seems to be who that Riddler guy is targeting. Not employees. I think Selina might be able to connect some dots for me.”
Lena blew out her breath. “I’ll try and see what time her shift is done, alright?”
Y/n squeezed the girl’s hand and reached for a drink tray. As she did, Selina and Carla appeared to her left.
“Where’s Annika?” Selina demanded. Y/n angled her back to them so she could eavesdrop. She motioned for Lena to go ahead of her and pretended to wait on another drink.
“Out of my face. I don’t know you,” Carla snapped.
“Yeah, but you know her. Who took her? What have you heard? Is she okay?” Selina’s voice was desperate. Afraid. Y/n had to close her eyes for a second. She was remembering too much, being in this place again. God, it was like Marie all over again. She hoped Annika, wherever she was, whoever had taken her, was okay. That she wouldn’t meet the same fate as Marie. That, if she was in trouble, they could save her in time.
“Jesus Christ, keep your voice down. What, you got a death wish?”
A new voice cut in, a man. An all too familiar man. “Hey, what’s the problem, ladies?”
“There’s no problem. It’s just girl talk.” Carla’s voice had shifted. She was all polite deference now.
“Let’s keep it festive down here, all right?”
Y/n froze. She would know that voice anywhere. Her blood ran cold, then hot.
The Penguin.
“Sure thing, Oz.”
From the corner of her eye, she saw Carla move past first, then the Penguin, waddling after her. Y/n ducked her head. She was wearing thick makeup and a wig, but she didn’t want to risk being recognized. She wouldn’t get Lena in trouble.
Her ears were ringing. The sound of her own heart beating was louder than the music and chatter of the club.
God, she couldn’t panic now. She had to talk to Selina.
She blinked, unsure where Lena was, the second tray of drinks still untouched on the bar before her.
“Don’t be a stranger,” a man was saying to Selina when y/n was finally able to focus again. She turned in time to see an older man in sunglasses walk around Selina and rejoin the Penguin.
Selina bolted. Y/n hurried after her. She would catch up with Lena later. First she needed to talk to Selina.
The crowd almost made her lose the other girl. At least her hair was bright red. Y/n caught sight of her shoving open the swinging doors for the women’s bathroom, reserved for the patrons. The girls had balls, if she was risking going into a customers-only bathroom.
“--mob spot,” Selina was saying as y/n pushed open the doors.
“I don’t have a relationship with him!” Selina almost shouted after a brief pause. She looked up into the mirror and locked eyes with y/n. Who was Selina talking to? Y/n hesitated. “Forget it,” Selina muttered, leaning forward and sticking a finger into her eye. “Listen, I can’t do this anymore.”
Y/n froze as Selina popped out a very familiar looking contact lens.
“Where did you get that?” she asked before she could stop herself. Her heart stuttered a bit.
“What?” Selina asked, whirling around. She rested her hands on the lip of the sink behind her. Y/n hated that she noticed how, well, gorgeous Selina was. She was petite but curvy in all the right places, her skin a warm brown, her eyes done with perfect makeup. This was who Bruce was working with? She sucked in a sharp breath and reminded herself of the ring that currently rested between her breasts, hidden on a chain. Being jealous was stupid. Besides, Lena had said she thought this girl and Annika might have been involved.
Y/n crossed her arms. “The contact. Where’d you get it?”
Selina glanced away. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, alright?” she said defensively. She made to walk out, but y/n stepped in front of her.
She held up a placating hand. “It was him, wasn’t it? The Bat.”
Selina went utterly still. An unnatural stillness. It almost reminded her of Bruce.
“Listen, I’ve worked–I worked with him before, so I know what that thing is. And he–he was with you the other night wasn’t he? When your friend was taken?” The words came spilling out of her in a rush. “She’s missing, right? There have been missing girls from here before. I cracked that case, me and him.” Her words were coming in a rush, barely making any sense, but she needed Selina to understand. They were on the same team.
“I–” Selina started. Her heavily lined eyes blinked slowly. “That was you? How do you–”
“It doesn’t matter how I know all of that, okay? I used to work here. I know how things are. I want to help you.” Y/n felt a familiar desperation curling within her gut. She would not let herself think of Marie. Of the girls before Marie that she had failed to save.
“That’s why he recognized you. Just now. He was shouting in my ear, but–” Selina huffed a humorless laugh.
Y/n’s stomach sank. “Oh, he is going to be so pissed off that I’m here.” Pissed off was actually a bit of an understatement, but Bruce could get over himself.
“Why are you here?” Selina asked. She crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes. Y/n knew she was suspicious. She would be too, if their positions were reversed.
“I’m tired of girls like us getting caught in the fucking crossfire,” she said vehemently. “I want to help you find your friend.”
“You’re the only one,” Selina muttered. “Your friend the Bat is kind of a dick, you know that right?”
Y/n bit back a smile. “He’s worried about the bigger picture. The Riddler’s murders. But I want to help you find your friend.”
“How?” Selina’s voice broke ever so slightly. She was worried, y/n could tell that much.
“I don’t know. But I have a feeling it’s all connected. Do you know anything about potential targets? Like the DA you were talking to?”
Selina shrugged. “I don’t know. Maybe. He said something about a rat, but–I just want to keep Annika out of this mess.”
Y/n bit her lip and thought hard for a second. So Bruce had been watching Selina’s exchange with the DA. He would be following that lead. “Did Annika hang out with anyone other than the mayor?” she finally asked.
Selina shook her head. “Just him. They–they had a thing together, you know? He stole her passport to hold over her, but…he was the only one she was seeing. We were…we were supposed to get out of here. Together.”
“Do you remember anything else that could tell us who took her?”
Selina shook her head. “No, I figured it was some crony of the mayor’s. Trying to clean up his mess.”
Y/n nodded. “Okay. I–here, let me give you my number.”
Y/n had adopted a “work phone” like Bruce had. It had helped in cases like Kendra’s, when she needed more information without revealing her identity. Bruce Wayne’s fiance got almost as much attention as he did, after all, and she didn’t want anything tying her to the Batman if she could help it. Or to her nighttime activities.
“Let me know if you find out anything, okay?” y/n said after typing her information into Selina’s phone. She wasn’t sure where the other girl had been hiding it in her tiny little leather outfit. “I promise I’ll keep trying to find her.”
“Yeah, okay. Thanks. I have to go.” Selina flashed a smile and was gone before y/n could blink.
She sighed and looked at her own unfamiliar reflection in the mirror.
It was time to go face Bruce.

maybe you answered this already, but how do you feel about the sos remake of fomt?
Hi anon! First of all, I'd like to thank you for your patience, as well as apologize for taking so long to get back to your message. Around the time you messaged me, work and school started piling up for me to the point where life became a bit overwhelming. It's the holiday season now so everything's a lot less hectic, and hopefully I can dedicate some time to my hobbies before it packs on again. ☺
Anyway... I'm not sure if I answered this already either actually, but either way, I'm always happy to talk about my opinions regarding Harvest Moon. 😊 I, uh... wrote a lot, lmao so my doozy of an answer is under the cut.
In my personal opinion, the SOS:FoMT remake was... underwhelming.
I was initially excited when I heard news of the remake, given BTN--and by extension, FoMT--is not only one of my favorite Harvest Moon games, but favorite games of all time. There's a ton of nostalgia behind it for me, and the cast of characters is by far the one I love most (HM64 was my first Harvest Moon game, and I remember being ecstatic to find and play Back To Nature, given the same cast of characters for the most part were in the game). I also love the town itself. It feels alive and like an actual community where everyone knows everyone.
So I guess that made the remake (which I'd call more of a "remaster" than anything, honestly) all the more disappointing for me.
There are things I do appreciate about it, like the quality of life changes (finally, I can stack items in my rucksack and can hold more than TWO THINGS at a time! and thank God, I can finally walk over crops so I can FINALLy get that stupid middle spot that's always neglected lolllll), and I'm grateful for the extra heart events AND for same-sex marriage (long overdue, but I digress), among other improvements.
But nearly everything else, I think, was a missed opportunity and waste of potential to really make it shine:
-- The graphics are off-putting, to say the least, and a weird attempt at making things "nostalgic" and "cute", but somehow manages to miss the mark on both (in my opinion).
-- The removal of rival marriages--along with the rival heart events and rival children--is a HUGE misstep and takes away from much of the life of the town. It no longer feels like a little community, but like a hollow, empty version of HM:FoMT.
-- Along with the removal of rival marriages... I feel like a lot of the "magic" of the older games involving some of the harder-hitting stories--like May's mother abandoning her, or Harris's unrequited feelings for Aja, or Aja running away from home--is just... missing. Rick's hatred of Kai feels more irrational because much of the implications of his hatred being tied to his resentment toward his father have been removed (since Kai and Popuri no longer get married), Kai's personality has been watered down from the hated suave ladies' man to just "a nice guy", Harris goes from having a storyline to merely existing, etc. Maybe this is more of a complaint about HM:FoMT too since some of those things were missing there too, but imo my point still stands. It makes SoS:FoMT feel too cutesy and happy-go-lucky, and therefore, again, hollow.
-- Jennifer and Brandon both feel out of place from the rest of the town, and I cannot state emphatically enough how apathetic I feel toward both of them. I guess you could potentially argue that they are both outcasts and therefore they ARE out of place, but I think you can make "outcast" characters and still make them feel like they belong in the cast.
-- There's just... SO MUCH they could have fixed and added to this game that they didn't. I mean, it's a Switch remake, for goodness sake--the Switch is a powerful console! Why is the Frisbee Toss on year 1 still a cut black screen and "yay thanks for coming see you next year"? Why do the characters still just stand around or just walk back and forth, instead of giving them things to do? Why aren't the buildings more fleshed out with decorations, or the characters given different schedules, or different outfits? Why is getting on and off the horse such a monumental task?????
-- (To further drive my point above about the Switch being a powerful console and how the remake didn't even bother attempting to take advantage of it, this post by angelcou drives home this point very well. If you haven't read it, it sums up my thoughts about this all really nicely.)
There's probably a TON more that I can add here which I didn't remember, but overall, I think the remake didn't do the game any justice. When the announcement for SoS:AWL came out, I was--as I was with the SoS:FoMT announcement--ecstatic beyond belief, to say the least. But given my feelings about the FoMT remake, and the additionally underwhelming release of SoS:PooT, I remain firmly planted in the camp of "cautiously optimistic".
What are all your thoughts about the remake?

Hello it is I connection terminated the random Tumblr user!
Ideas had:
Directly after waking upafter being controlled by a bunch of psychotic clowns for like a year Michael went to Henry for help. Henry built him the end of skeleton shell so he could do stuff again But also made Michael internalized the idea that his life is basically useless unless he does vigilante stuff. Also the idea that it basically didn't matter at all what happened to Michael himself as long as he could still walk and punch...
"Nightguar" Michael Is introduced at a charity event hosted by William. (I think he definitely has a "oh you have dead parents I have dead children isn't that so sad" talk with Bruce at some point) Also Tim is there. Then suddenly as Williams giving this speech about "Look at these new robots I made they have a criminal detection system will protect Any children who walk into my establishments!". When Michael bursts in through the glass ceiling and tries to kidnap/maybe kill his dad. But because The crowd and Batman don't know the context it just looks like scary villain came down from the ceiling and is now trying to kill nice children's entertainer William Afton. Basically Michael runs after that and has a little rooftop fight with Tim. Throws down a flash Bang and then runs away.
All of the fun times can easily disguise as humans everyone except baby is just really bad at acting normal. It's also not something they need to do much-
Michael has a lot of hang-ups about being the only non-human member of the bat family for so long. Like everyone else can kind of take off the mask and do normal people stuff (mostly). But Mike physically can't do that.... He also happens to live in a city where most of the metahumans are villains and most of the heroes are normal human people. He kind of sticks out and sometimes gets mistaken for a villain (Kind of a loose adaptation of the whole looking like William hence people wanting to attack him thing for cannon)
Whatever kind of ghost or something like that Michael Charlie and most of the other cast from fnaf are Makes anyone who is in the presence of them feel really Uneasy.. This kind of fades the more time you spend around the person. (This is a head cannon I have for normal fnaf too I just think it'll be fun here)
Cassidy's powers are based on how much pain herself and the people around her are in. Thank you for listening to my ramblings here's a sketch of Cassidy! More of a little concept sketch than her final design LOL but I hope you like it
Ah! Hi! Sorry for taking so long to answer I was recovering from my sister’s second baby shower (I didn’t have a panic attack at this one yay) but it’s been a few weeks and now I’m ready to type! (mainly hearts and key smashs)
HENRYYYYYYY!!!!!! I know you have good intentions but you are giving my blorbo even more of a complex than he already has :(
*lights up the bat signal to let Bruce know to make sure he has the emergency adoption papers ready*
Of course William would have the fucking audacity I want to hit him (and I know that that man is so good an actor probably the only member of the batfamily to notice anything off would be Cass and ether she’s not settled enough to go to galas yet or literally hasn’t joined the family)
There is no doubt in my mind that he pulled out the “I am so sorry about the loss of your son Mr Wayne. There is no pain worse than the loss of a child. I would know” I want to break his nose
Is it really a robin teen vigilante romance if it doesn’t start with a misunderstanding and a fight?
Of course she’s a good actor, she loves playing pretend. kill me

I have no words for this one just tears
Tim: Hey guys! this is my boyfriend Michael.
*the entirety of Young Justice about to beat up a corpse Because he has bad vibes*
Tim making distance between them with his bo: Back! Back I say!

Hi Basmathgirl!
No socks anon here. Sorry for my delayed answer. It took me a while to finally “force” myself to watch S4/E13. 😭
Thank you so much for your kind reply and the recommendations. Just finished “Best Laid Schemes”. And you were right, I very much enjoyed the entire story. I’m so used to rely on AO3 for fics, that I forgot that there are other/ older sources out there as well.
Like I said, I finally watched episode 13 of season 4. And I’m glad I knew beforehand what to expect. I mean I cried anyway, but if I had watched it without any warning, I would have been a mess afterwards. However as sad as the ending was, I truly enjoyed Donna’s part in the story. Plus the way they ended her story line, gave us all a great starting point for many brilliant fix-it fics. Of course I’m aware of Catherine and David’s return for the 2023 DW special at the ending of last year, so I’m super curious to see what will happen there. Kinda want to watch it immediately. Can I watch it immediately, or would I be completely lost?
Episode 13 included a scene, which confused me a little bit and I hope it is okay to ask for clarification, even though the question involves Rose.
When the Doctor started the alleged regeneration process, Rose cried she didn’t want him to leave her (paraphrasing here). However I always thought when the Doctor regenerates it is just his body, that changes, he still would be the same person (same memories, feelings, personality)? So she wouldn’t literally lose him, he would just change appearances. But maybe I’m wrong and I didn’t understand the regeneration concept correctly? Anyway I was a bit annoyed with her (as usual in my case), because my conclusion after witnessing her reaction was, that for Rose the outward appearance, at least when it comes to the Doctor, is the essential part of her attraction to him.??? Idk, it just irked me in some way.
(And as a side note: It’s kinda funny to me, that they gave Rose the “knock-off Doctor version”.😅
Although while watching episode 13, a part of me theorised for a while, if the Metacrisis Doctor will stay with Donna. But that would have been strange as well, I guess…)
I still have to watch the rest of season 4 though. I’m kinda putting it off again, because I know it is the end for David’s run.😢 Plus I read multiple times now, that the quality of the show will drop for a few seasons. Most people seem to agree that season 9 is the point when it gets better again. (What do you think?) So I’m somewhat cautious when it comes to season 5 and the introduction of a new Doctor.
And I wanted to let you know, that I found more blogs that share my thoughts on River Song, although for the most part they dislike her, because they are of the opinion that Rose should be the one who marries the Doctor. 🙄 I don’t actively hate Rose, for me she is just an annoying part of the show, I try to ignore.
...
I think in the end I’m just sad, that we didn’t get more seasons (at least 3...or 5 or….) of the Doctor Donna duo.
Thanks again for replying and I wish you a nice weekend.☺️
Hellon kind 'no sock' Anon! Good title although I'm worried you don't actually have any socks now...
No problem about any delay, because I've had to take my time to get here to answer you, thanks to a painful week full of migraines. *shrugs* Life just happens liek that sometimes.
Anyway. Yay that you liked the fic! I actually first started reading fanfiction on fanfiction.net; then went to Teaspoon [aka whofic.com], and from author bios on there, moved over to LiveJournal. Stumbling upon the Doctor/Donna com felt like finding a major treasure. So hopefully you'll give those older sources (and their older fics) a go.
Oooh, you have my sympathies about finding Journey's End (episode 13) an emotional event. 🫂It haunted me for ages. As for Rose, I'd always seen their relationship as "teacher-pupil" (and more "parent-child" when she was with the Ninth Doctor) so the whole "luuuuuurve" plotline shook me to the core; so you will have to forgive me for not believing in the Doctor/Rose romance. But she obviously fancied him and his duplicate like crazy - Rose!shippers have posted screenshots of her in that episode ogling the Metacrisis Doctor. It's such a fleeting moment I've never been able to catch it. The point is that many of them acknowledge Rose's flaws and love her anyway. That's true love.
Back to your question; Rose seemed to feel she was owed her prize of the Doctor after crossing dimensions and realities to find him. It must have been an awful lot of work to persuade Pete's World's Torchwood to provide the technology and technicians. Whether we think she should have done, despite being warned by the Doctor that to do so would destroy everything, is another matter. I saw her "You can't" outburst as indignation that she wouldn't get want she had strived so long for. It probably also means "I love THIS you and I don't want you to change"; and Rose often has her immature/selfish moments. Your typical 'only child' selfishness, when you think about it. All this is up for debate, and I might be completely wrong but I was going by the 20 year olds I knew, where everything is strong emotions and continual questions about yourself in the world.
Giving away another highly sentient being as her prize wil always be bizzare to me. If we had seen the Metacrisis Doctor give consent, or them talking it over, I'd have felt better about it. Otherwise, he's virtually handed over as a sex toy her pet human/hamster.
After that, we get the S4 specials. I've never rushed back to watch them again, to be honest. The Next Doctor is almost a Doctor/Rose Victorian AU; I detested Lady Christina in planet of the Dead, but loved Dr Malcolm Taylor (he gets a reference in The Giggle novelisation) and DI McMillan; The Waters of Mars was good and scary, so I recommend that one; and Catherine Tate was seriously underused (as were most of the guest actors) in End of Time. But that's worth watching for the interactions between the Doctor and Wilf. Honestly, seek those bits out. We won't mention that godawful wedding outfit they give Donna, because seriously, whoever decided she should have been put in that look needs shooting. They certainly went for 'ugly as possible'.
As for the 60th anniversary episodes, I'd say go ahead and watch them anyway. There are references to old companions (as you'd expect), a nod towards the last episodes of the Thirteenth Doctor, but you won't miss anything too drastic. The stories play out like any other Doctor Who episode, where you gradually catch up on the plot as you go. And there are loads of great bits.
Hmm. I was so ready to love series 5 and adore Amy. Well, I adored Amelia; the adult Amy was slightly worrying. Why did Moffat choose that job/outfit for her? WHY? Let's just that we weren't impressed by the acting choices. Then again, you might end up absolutely loving Amy - I know many do - but she leaves me cold so don't expect me to join that gang.
I had to double check what happened in series 9 because I'd forgotten *kicks migraines* and can say that's quite a good series. Missy was a great addition, plus Clara had rather outstayed her welcome by the time we reached this series, so I personally wasn't sad to see her go. The Christmas special, The Husbands of River Song, introduced us to the delightful Nardole, and I finally agreed that Doctor/River was plausible. Twelve and River were a pretty good combination, I thought.
Congrats on finding blogs to follow! Hopefully, you will gain loads of new friends along the way. 😊
I too wish we had had more series with Donna as the Doctor's companion; and CT did consider it, on the basis that if DT stayed, so would she. But it was not to be. However, they always say to leave them wanting more, so that certainly worked. I was gagging for thr 60th anniversay specials, and was not left disappointed this time.
It's always lovely to talk to you, despite the interruptions whilst trying to type this out (we had a sudden visitation from my grandsons to enjoy). I hope you have a wonderful weekend too! 😘

ok i'm ready to explain the plot of shining nikki now but it is so much so i need you to be mentally prepared for that thanks (also i'm color-coding again bc the amount of paragraphs will be insane)
so it's actually the sequel to a game called love nikki (where you and nikki have to save miraland because it keeps getting destroyed but i didn't play that one so we're not even touching it) and takes place in the past! like 100 years before love nikki i think? you and a fashion designer named nikki (and momo the cat descendent of the momo clan) get transported from earth to the ocean of memories (hence the whole. interdimensional travel shit) by this guy named leonid who predicted that miraland would be destroyed oh no!!! well it's more like leonid's like "yah miraland's gonna get destroyed and there's nothing you can do abt it so how about i just send you back to earth because you literally cannot stop its destruction it's fate or whatever" and nikki's like "okay but what if...... I Did do something about it" so the three of you go to miraland to try and stop its destruction because this shit keeps happening!!!
you then wake up in a boat in the ocean of memories called the ark which is run by a guy named aeon and his little sister marina, you essentially exist as a voice in nikki's head, um. the three of you discuss everything about the whole apocalypse thing before aeon and marina send you to the first country, apple federation! not much important happens here it's just the introduction to the mechanics of the game and also you almost get blown up on a train by a terrorist group so there's that.
you all go through several countries trying to find the second piece to a manuscript written by leonid that will apparently help you stop the apocalypse but everybody else also wants this piece!! including: evil CEO mercury, actor/informant qin yi who i Hate for fucking with my girl nikki, and cult queen lilith! who is the one in charge of the cult! she's important.
anyways shit happens nikki almost shoots someone THEN we get to the dawn duel event aka the end of part 1. it turns out lilith struck a deal with the literal devil to make everyone love her and summoned an evil goddess into miraland who tries to destroy everything so now nikki has to fight her while everybody else works on rescue efforts. it's a whole thing. it's fucking crazy.
after that you all end up back in the ark to try and discuss shit except holy shit!!! you the player now have a physical body due to the styling power used during nikki fighting a literal god!!! and aeon and marina can now leave the ark instead of being stuck on it! yay!!!! so you all go off to do research on the gods when a particular god keeps showing up named the deity of styling.... who suspiciously looks just like you, now that you have a physical body to compare.... it's honestly really funny bc the player is like "guys..... i think i'm the deity of styling" and everybody else is like "yeah it was fucking obvious you're literally the last one to know" it's implied that something happened with the ocean of memories years ago that took away the player's knowledge of their godhood but nothing's been revealed yet. we just gotta wait and see.
and the deity of styling had five envoys to represent each attribute of styling: elegant, fresh, sweet, sexy, and cool. so you, nikki, and momo decide to go and find these envoys while aeon and marina go back to the ark to keep an eye on the ocean of memories and um. yeah. that's the incredibly abridged version of it. your godly abilities are still limited (the biggest thing i remember being you using your styling power to save the envoy of sweetness from a deadly fall) but there you go. if i tried to explain every single subplot i think it would last forever. this isn't even mentioning the elves or the war or the other things with lilith or the time loop or even any of the limited-time events because that's Too much
anyways. yeah. shining nikki. wild game. love it - teddy anon
i’m feeling every emotion at once
so many questions. still. why did leonid summon you just to say “actually no thanks”? “not much important happens” yet we get bLOWN UP ON A TRAIN???
why did leonid write the manuscript to stop the apocalypse? why does everybody want this piece? not like they can decipher it without the first right?? “the dawn duel” FUCKS as a name and i’m not surprised the character named lilith summoned the devil BUT it implies the existence of hell?????????????
excess styling power somehow creates a fucking physical form for the player? why were they stuck on the ark?? isn’t it a boat????? also the “no shit we all knew” is VERY funny 11/10
also reading “elegant, fresh, sweet, sexy” followed immediately by “cool” dealt psychic damage
also ELVES?? AND WHAT WAR??
TIME LOOP?????????

There is no moon shining as the hooded figure approaches the Lake of tears, trying to figure out his next move. A calming song greets him, and he looks up to see Alice swimming in the Lake of Tears. Her figure is illuminated only by the natural magic crystals around the lake.
Why is she here again? His mind races with the questions, remembering the last time that he almost caught her, she had narrowly escaped from the others. He had warned her to stay far away from the forest, but here she is, bathing naked. Perpelexed by the woman from the Land of Reason, he settles down to watch over her, not wanting others to find her, to take her away. A princess with so many dragons after her, he would be her knight, atleast for tonight.
Trying to keep his focus, he keeps his eyes around the lake, trying not to look at the curves and skin on display in the lake.  Wetting his lips, he allows himself one look. Her hair is over her shoulder and her back to him, but even the moon wants to test him tonight.  Sneaking a few rays of moonlight from behind a cloud just to illuminate the water droplets running down the skin of her back. Shutting his eyes momentarily, he tries to cool the tendril of desire racing south. He has a mission.
Finally Alice seems to have enough of the water, making her way to the shoreline, the water receding around her and baring so much more of her skin. He tries to be a gentlemen, not focusing on the naked woman approaching him, but he can only last so long. Her face turns his way, and a smile crosses her face.
“I was hoping you would come tonight” She murmurs, just loud enough for the hooded disciple to hear. He starts to approach her, using a small burst of magic to dry her skin. Wrapping his hands around her waist, he lowers his voice to her ear.
“I warned you that the forest was a dangerous place to be Little Bird” The contact with her and her semll had his pulse racing.
“Yet here you are Dalim” her retort a soft whisper, her hand trailing up his forearm. He is trying to get her to leave, to warn her to never come here again, but her touch is clouding his mind.
“The forest is full of beasts and dragons little Bird, you should stop coming here and stay with your knights.” He warns again, his breath so dangerously close to her skin, almost caressing it. He can feel the goosebumps rise along her neck. When she turns in his arms, his resolve almost shatters.
“You are here in the forest, are you a dangerous beast or a dragon?” Her eyes are trusting, her hands grasping on the edge of his hood. He knows he should say yes, take her to the tower. His mission. But he doesn’t he freezes, mind unsure what to do with the woman in his arms, dressed in only a shift.
Her hands almost lift his hood off his face, revealing who he is. Bringing his lips down to hers, he fully pushed his mission from his mind and revels in the kiss from Alice. His hands squeeze her waist tighter, feeling her bare skin under his fingers.
Backing her up, he stops talking, pressing her against a tree, the soft whimper from her lips has pleasure racing through his body. All his mind is filled with is her, as his hands explore her body. Squeezing her thighs, he urges her to wrap her legs around his waist for support. The weight of her hands around his neck is barely felt through his heavy robe and he is happy to not have so much of his skin bared.  Busying himself with brushing his hands along her, he caresses her soft spots, encouraged by the way she mewls for more. His lips hush her cries, his hips pinning her to the tree while his hands knead her breasts, so supple and soft. Lowering his lips, he presses a mark just below her collar, against her collarbone. Wachign it bloom red, his fingers slip between their bodies to carress her core. Alice pulls his lips back to hers in a heaty kiss. His smell is filling her head, his hands burn where he touches. Every moment getting locked away.
Dalim curls his fingers in her, feeling her orgasm approaching, her legs squeezing his waist, starting to go week and tremble. The taste of her lips is intocxicationg him, making him want more of her and he can feel faintly feel her fingers digging into his back through the heavy robe.
Leaving her core, he soothes her protest by pressing quick kisses to her lips, his length pressing against her core. He can hear her depserate whimpers and soft pleas as he eases in, inch by inch. Pressing his forehead against hers, he muffles his groans against her lips. Her body fits so perfectly against his, her walls hugging him so tight as he eases in. Thrusting his hips, he wrapps his arms around her waist, pinning her harder against the tree.
Her hands are desperately clawing against the back of his robe, her ankles locking firmly around his waist, dead set on not letting go. Her brain is absolutely melting at how he feels going in her, eyes blown open in pleasure when she finally looks at him. Dalim keeps his lips against her to muffle thier sounds. His hand presses against her stomach, whispering a barrier spell, he presses his finger against her clit to feel her clamp down on him.
“Dalim” His name a whisper from her lips as she orgasms arounf his lenght. Her eyes flutter shut, head resting against the tree as she rides out her high. THe feeling of her wall hugging his length has Dalim falling not far behind her. Spurting his seed into her, he resist his head against hers as they come down.
The sound of voices and footsteps pull Dalim out of his high. On alert, his hand reaches in to his robe to pull out a magic crystal.  Grabbing her dress, he uses magic to teleport them just outside the Forbidden Forest.
“Dalim?” Alice looks up at him confused, hurt flickering across her face. Pressing a kiss to her forehead, Dalim just shakes his head.
“Do not come back to the Forbidden forest Dearest Priness, there is too many dangers” He warns her a final time.
“What if I want to see you?” Her breathless whisper is a thorn in his heart.
“You shouldnt’ want ot see me again, go home on the full moon and think of this as nothing more than a dream” He warns her, his eyes turning red as he disappears in a flash of light, leaving a stunned Alice behind. Her hand presses against hte mark on her collar, proof it wasn’t a dream. Leaving to go back to base, she tries to figure out a way to see the hooded man. The warning drives a dagger in her heart and she sighs, looking behind her for any sign of the hooded man.
“Never come back to the Forbidden Forest”
