Okay fuck it I'm making this post.

So, we all know the dsmp fandom, especially on twitter, has a bit of a problem with leaktwt and often lots of controversy springing from stuff obtained by kiwifarms. I'd like to talk about this, because it's been pissing me off for months and it's getting ridiculous.

Please stop trusting information like this, or at the very least be cautious with how you interact with it, take it with a large grain of salt or maybe even a handful, don't take it at fucking face value and consider to yourself: why did they obtain this information and how did they obtain it.

Especially the how, because I've noticed the amount of illegally obtained data, from information unobtainable without some form of hacking to a lot of cases of spear phishing. Spear phishing, for those who don't know, is a targeted form of phishing against a specific person; phishing is often described as trying to obtain personal or sensitive information, and here the definition is applicable as digging through years worth of information otherwise inaccessible to the average user without purposefully searching everywhere for it, specifically information from or about a specific person.

This happens a lot, we see many cases, from the people who keep doxxing ccs, to the more recent things with certain information from Steam about Wilbur being made public despite the fact it's inaccessible without some sort of digging or manipulation, and now with (I believe, idk i've not really been looking at it for obvious reasons) the whole Tubbo thing and I believe that was leaked private messages of a friend, I could be wrong there. Either way, there's been so many cases of doxxing, leaked private messages, information inaccessible on the front end of things and it's getting to a genuinely worrying point.

And this isn't because I care about content creators, but I do care about upholding data privacy. Yes, even if they've said shit in the past, please don't go digging and digging because that does fall into spear phishing, and at the end of the day it is very dubiously legal at best. This is something we're taught about in fucking cyber security courses, for even further perspective on how bad it is. Not to mention, often this information is dug up by infamous leaktwt or kiwifarms, which are pretty known for bad faith digging up of shit.

These people dig it up for clout, they dig it up for attention, they do not care who gets fucking hurt and often bringing up old shit is going to harm more people than it fucking helps. It's even worse when you try to hold someone accountable for something someone else did, especially years in the past like it's their fault.

Just, please, stop supporting this, stop circulating this shit like morning gossip, because you're not only hurting people for no good reason, it's also often spreading illegally obtained information from people who commit cybercrimes on the regular. It breaks data protection laws, it breaks someone's fucking privacy.

Content creators are people. Respect their privacy, for fuck's sake, and stop egging on leaktwt/kiwifarms, because at the end of the day you're just telling them it's perfectly fine.

And their campaign of digging things up and harming people in bad faith doesn't end at your favourite cis white boy. They will harm minorities, and they already do, just for clout and fun. Stop it while you can before it gets out of hand, and make it clear they aren't welcome, because the fandom doesn't make it clear enough.

This isn't, of course, to say you cannot be critical of information found about ccs, but please don't allow a side effect to be encouraging or inadvertently making leaktwt/kiwifarms believe it's safe for them here, and that they are supported. Be critical when your fav is found to have said awful shit in the past, give them time to clarify, but also just... be a little critical about how accurate that info is, and who is supplying it. If you find yourself thinking 'now is this really legitimately obtained?' then maybe don't spread it, because it could be fake but a lot of the time it's already been addressed and is simply spread in bad faith.

And sure, they're exposing shitty stuff right now, but what happens when they doxx someone's address for fun?

Data privacy is important, it affects everyone, and even the worst people deserve to keep it. Sure, law enforcement and courts might be able to obtain this stuff, but you're not law enforcement nor a court and you're not entitled to personal data whenever.

hello nonny, i am doing well but a bit burnt out because it's the end of the year and work is stressing me out. anyway, thank you so much - honestly been surprised that people still remember my crap after basically disappearing for 2 years lol. the internet has a short memory and all that. regarding your question, i'm so old in the whole simblr/alpha community that i have the files because i downloaded them back when those creators were active and posting LOL.

several of them ended up becoming friends/mutual acquaintances. generally most of their stuff can be found from googling the creator name then simfileshare and you'll find random CC dumps of old deleted cc, and or the perma-paywall distribution networks (linking to these lately i have heard will get tumblr accounts deleted from wayward DCMA take down actions, so i do not link to them, i'm afraid) - if you do a google you will find the path. personally, i think that if the creator has left the sims community, re-hosting the files for free with proper credit given to the original creators, is fine. however, if the creator happens to come back to the community, or contacts you and asks for removal, then the respectful thing to do would be abide their wishes.

a lot of times, the creator may not have initially deleted their links, but over the years hosting accounts expire. you can't always guarantee that the creator intended for everything to be removed, versus, they just couldn't keep up with fixing links in a community they are no longer part of.

1. What’s your favorite sims death? I don't have 1 in TS4 but in TS2 or maybe it was 3, I used to cheat the death by flies a lot.

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Boffem. I prefer maxis type hair and alpha everything else.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? Nope, I like that they gain and lose weight. Especially after pregnancy.

4. Do you use move objects? Yes, I don't leave it on constantly though. Routing errors are annoying.

5. Favorite mod? If I have to pick just 1, I'd say MCCC. I literally cannot play my game without it. I also have sooo many mods by littlemssam, love them! Better Build/Buy and Better Exceptions are awesome as well.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? I was buying them in order so whatever the first EP was is the first one I bought.

At the very begin it was a bit hard to follow to be honest, coz you know...I’m very italian. And english wasn’t exactly my forte...Especially one with an accent. But hey! Even thanks to these videos I did learned something! :D What's your favourite thing about the channel?:  Well...I do love videogames. I haven’t played games myself in ages, but it’s nice to see all the cool stuff that comes out. And on the channel there is a genre for everybody and for every mood! 💀 What’s your favourite sims death? Well, since my Sims usually pass away peacefully from old age , I don't have a favorite Sim death. However, I do appreciate the diverse range of dramatic and unexpected deaths that can occur in TS, as it adds an element of surprise and unpredictability to the game. Whether it's a Sim getting electrocuted, eaten by a cowplant, or even burned to death while cooking, these events certainly add some excitement to the gameplay.

💅 Alpha CC or Maxis Match? I'm a huge fan of Maxis Match custom content. I find that it seamlessly integrates with the base game and maintains the unique charm and style that drew me to TS in the first place.

💦 Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? No, I like to see their body change over time. I find it even more realistic, especially if they gained weight because of a pregnancy.

🛋️ Do you use move objects? All the time.

💻 Favorite mod? I don’t use mods, I’m too lazy to keep everything up to date.

🛍️ First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? The very first pack I got was Livin’ Large, for TS1. For TS4, it was Get to Work.

I'm a bit late with this, but here are my July favorites!

AI: Nirvana Initiative: The sequel to AI is out, and I've been watching my friend play it. We haven't finished it yet, but the game is shaping up to be another fascinating sci-fi mystery. Still recommend the first game. But this one has been really fun to enjoy with friends.

Sims: Having my bestie cousin love Sims 2 has been wonderful, and her new perspective and curiosity has inspired me to look for new mods, CC, and community lots. I've added a roller skating park, an ice skating park, and a wedding chapel. Updated my selection of wedding dresses. And found a mod to make parties at community lots possible. These things have existed for a while, but I'd gotten used to the way the game works and its limitations. Having someone else enjoy my favorite game has inspired me to try new things! I also finally started dabbing in mods and cc for Sims 4. But with the new update giving me stress, I haven't been able to enjoy it much.

Izzzyzzz: I fell down another YouTube rabbit hole with a nostalgia/internet culture channel. I started out with her video on Neopets, then continued into things I was not super informed about, like Monster High. And then started getting into the darker stuff, like creepypastas and ARGs. Some of these videos contain tough content, but Izzzy handles the subjects well. She also brings a unique style to her videos through her makeup looks. And I learned about the Alexandria's Genesis hoax. Which, funnily enough, sounds like the origin of my obsession with violet eyes and eye-related powers, but it is not. 😆 I'll credit Hermione's World and that glowy-eyed episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark for those.

Neopets: Speaking of Neopets... well, I started out this month with Neopets as a favorite. But it ended up being more like an unfavorite. 😕 Still, I really enjoyed opening birthday mystery capsules with my friend.
