“Oh my god, Gasly! You’re never gonna believe this- oh, hey Yuki. Charles.” Y/N found them in front of the Alpha Tauri hospitality.

They greeted her back. “Hi, Y/N!” “What’s going on?” Yuki simply giving her a small wave.

“I just found out about something, but you can’t tell anyone!” The young woman unsubtle looked around them, scanning if anyone was eavesdropping on their conversation.

Charles, Yuki and Pierre’s face immediately turned serious at her words, taking a step closer to her.

“Allegedly, Alpine are going to announce Oscar Piastri as their new driver for the next season over the summer break.” Y/N whispered to them.

Charles furrowed his eyebrows and Yuki glanced at an unimpressed Pierre. “That’s it?”

“That’s it?” She mockingly copied him, “of course that’s not it, you bimbo.”

“The problem is that apparently McLaren want to sign him for the next season and Oscar is actually considering it.” She continued, looking at their reactions as she finished the whispers she had heard.

The three of them looked at her wide-eyed, not believing what they were hearing. “That can’t be true.” The Monegasques said, shaking his head.

“Yeah, and McLaren already have their two drivers for the next season, that wouldn’t make any sense.” Pierre concluded, finding it weird that McLaren would drop one of their drivers for a rookie.

Y/N shrugged her shoulders, simply chorusing what she heard from her “sources”. “That’s that I was told.”

“Yeah, but you believe anything if it’s any form of drama.” Pierre argued.

“That’s not true.”

“Y/N, remember when that rumour went around that you were pregnant? You literally believed that even thought you hadn’t had sex in months.” Charles added, pleading Pierre’s case that the woman was gullible.

She gasped as Charles’ words left his mouth, making the Japanese man next to her chuckle. “Hey! There was that girl on Dr. Phil that said she was pregnant by Jesus, you never know what can happen!” She defended herself, even though there was some truth to the drivers’ claims.

“But I am serious about this! You’ll see when that announcement is made that I’m right.” Y/N smirked, pointing her finger at herself and walking away.

“The girl's crazy.”

“She’s gonna get herself in trouble one day.”

“[BREAKING] Oscar Piastri drives for Alpine in 2023!”

“Oscar Piastri denies he will be driving for Alpine next year!”

“Piastri allegedly to sign contract with McLaren to succes Daniel Ricciardo!”

The headlines sounded, the summer break being bombarded by F1 drama.

The two French speaking men who had condemned their female friend for believing anything and everyone, were absolutely shocked that every single thing she had told them was actually true.

As soon as Oscar had send out his tweet, claiming that he wasn’t going to drive for Alpine, Pierre called her.

“Okay, how the fuck did you actually figure that out?”

Y/N loudly laughed, like a super villain would do. “Oh, now you believe me, Gasly? What were you saying a few weeks ago again? That I was gullible?”

“Alright, alright… I was wrong, I’m sorry.” He apologized. “But just- how?”

“Look Pierre, when you’ve got a pretty face like mine, it’s not that hard to get information out of people.” She smirked over the phone.

The Frenchmen couldn’t help but give her credit, she knew how to get stuff done. “Well, I’m impressed, Y/N. I wouldn’t have been able to do that.”

“… if that’s your way to get me all like “oh no, Pierre, you’ve got a pretty face too” forget it!”

“I tried.”

You didn’t skip out on races. Every weekend you were in the garages watching Yuki’s drive.

Last week you got sick and stayed home. This week, you’re still sick. So from Italy, you’re watching the Japanese Grand Prix. Half asleep and still nauseous.

You don’t finish it, before the 20th lap you fall asleep. The kind of sleep where you don’t really know where you are when you wake up.

You wake up to Yuki sat next to you, a hand on your back. In the light that’s drilling into the deepest parts of your eyes, you can kind of make out a box in his other hand. Unable to decipher what’s on the box when your eyes finally adjust, you search around in the blankets for your glasses.

“I can’t see, oh god”

“You’re fine, lay back”

His voice is low, he’s careful with you. He’s normally careful when you get sick. It takes a lot to put you down for more than maybe a day at a time.

His fingers brush your hair from your face.

“What’re you thinking?” You ask, sitting up despite him urging you not to.

“I talked to your mom,” his attention is back on the box in his hand, “she said she got sick like this when she was pregnant with you.”

“How long have you been sitting on this?”

“Since last weekend?”

“So you went out, still in Australia, and got some pregnancy tests?”

“Mom got them,” he stared down at the box, messing with the tape holding it shut, “had them waiting for me the moment I landed in Japan.”

You pull yourself up, leaning against him. “We don’t need to worry about that,” you take the box and set it behind you, “I just caught a bug.”

He doesn’t believe you. He doesn’t respond. He doesn’t even look up at you. Just continues, staring down at his hands. Those wheels in his head turning.

“I’ll take one just to prove it,” you one up the box and grab a test out, waving it in front of him.

His smile is soft. You can’t decipher what it is he’s thinking. While usually you can read him like a book.

“When was your last period?”

You resort to counting on your hands. You attributed it to stress. With the work you’ve been doing, busy season at your accounting firm and whatnot.

And that slight weight gain? You work an office job. You always end up gaining some weight during the busy season.

“Not since last season ended, right?”

His expression still unreadable, as he sets a hand on your arm. His thumb rubs circles into your skin. A second goes by before you’re up and in the bathroom.

Waiting those three minutes is odd. You left the stick on the counter in the bathroom, the two of you sitting on the bed.

Staring. At each other.

“It’s probably ready now.”

His hand leaves your knee to gesture to the bathroom.

“You do it I’m nervous.”

He nearly trips into the bathroom door. He’s yelling at you from the bathroom. Those unreadable expressions and nervous fidgeting come together. They make more sense now.

He almost seems relieved, when he’s picking you up off of the bed.

“He’s not gonna be a race car driver.”

Yuki rolls his eyes. “She’s gonna be the next Ayrton Senna”

He sits down, still holding onto you. One hand is at your waist, the other combing through your hair. His eyes staring into yours, shifting from one to the other.

Bathroom Incident

warnings: Y/N getting stuck in the bathroom, pierre being a heroic brother, the 2022 grid, a somewhat chaotic and funny visit.

authors note: I LOVE writing in this style!

It was a big day for Pierre Gasly and his sister Y/N, as they were both heading to the quali day at the Alpha Tauri team's garage. Y/N was a big fan of her brother's racing career and often accompanied him to various races around the world. She was excited to see him in action and cheer him on from the sidelines.

As they arrived at the garage, Y/N decided to use the bathroom before the qualifying session started. However, as she entered the bathroom, the door got stuck and she couldn't get out. She tried pushing and pulling the door, but it wouldn't budge.

Panic set in as Y/N realized she was trapped in the bathroom. She started banging on the door and shouting for help, hoping someone would hear her. The noise caught the attention of some of the drivers, including Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo, who were passing by.

"What's going on in there?" Max asked, peering through the door.

"I'm stuck! The door won't open!" Y/N yelled, her voice echoing off the walls.

Daniel joined Max in trying to pry the door open, but their efforts were in vain. Meanwhile, Y/N's screams grew louder and more frantic.

As the commotion continued, other team members started gathering around the bathroom, trying to figure out what was going on. Some of them couldn't resist laughing at the chaotic scene.

Pierre, who was getting ready for the quali, heard the commotion and rushed to the bathroom. He recognized his sister's voice and knew he had to help her.

"Pierre! Get me out of here!" Y/N cried out.

Pierre tried pushing the door open, but it was no use. He knew he had to take matters into his own hands.

"Stand back, everyone!" Pierre yelled, before charging towards the door and kicking it open with a mighty blow.

The door flew open, and Y/N stumbled out, relieved to be free at last. She threw her arms around Pierre and hugged him tightly, grateful for his heroic rescue.

The incident became the talk of the team, with many of the members teasing Y/N about her misadventure. But despite the embarrassment, Y/N couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all.

"Next time, I'm sticking with you, Pierre," she joked. "At least I know you'll never leave me stranded in a bathroom! Now, let's go kick some racing butt!"

Pierre chuckled at Y/N's comment, happy to see her in good spirits again. He knew that his sister was a big support for him during races, and her positive energy always gave him an extra boost.

"Alright, let's do this!" Pierre replied, slapping Y/N on the back as they made their way to the pit. He was feeling confident about his chances in the qualifying race, and he was eager to show off his skills on the track.

After the qualifying session, Pierre Gasly made his way over to the group of journalists gathered in the paddock. As he approached, several of them turned to him with eager expressions, hoping to get a quote or two for their articles.

"Hey guys, how's it going?" Pierre greeted them, a friendly smile on his face. 

One journalist quickly jumped in with a question. "So Pierre, we heard about your sister getting stuck in the bathroom earlier. What happened?"

Pierre Gasly couldn't help but chuckle. "Well, it definitely wasn't the highlight of our day," he said with a grin. "Y/N always manages to find herself in the most hilarious situations. But in all seriousness, I'm just glad she's okay." Pierre couldn't help but laugh.

Y/N was walking through the paddock with some of her close friends who were also formula 1 drivers. 

"Hey Y/N, heard you got stuck in the bathroom earlier," Charles teased, grinning mischievously.

Y/N rolled her eyes, but couldn't help but smile at the memory. "Yeah, thanks to that faulty door."

“Did you find the secret pit stop in there?" Yuki joked, earning a chuckle from the others.

Y/N rolled her eyes but couldn't help but laugh. "Very funny, Yuki. You should try being stuck in a tiny bathroom for 30 minutes and see how you like it!" she retorted playfully.

Lando joined in, poking fun at Y/N. "I can't believe you got yourself trapped in there. What were you doing, practicing your escape artist routine?"

Y/N laughed, knowing that she had become the butt of their jokes. "Hey, at least I know how to make an entrance!"

DRIVE TO SURVIVE SEASON 5 - EP. 1  THE NEW ERA

“It’s freezing in here” I said while I was puting my cap in my head, my Williams cap, ready to sit in the famous black chair of Netflix. “Thank you Netflix for make this possible, Bahrain is being cooking itself now” The producer chuckle.

“So, we’re going to let you introduce you and then make you a few questions. Everything clear?”

“Sure” I look for a better position in the chair and look to the camera “My name is Charlotte Robyn-Jones and I’m engineer strategist for Williams Racing Formula One Team” I said with a smile on my face. I saw the people in the back laugh and I copy the action

“You can’t lie to Netflix, kid”

“I think I just did ... Anyway, 1, 2, 3, Monday to Friday, My name is Charlotte Robyn-Jones, I’m 23 and I’m a race driver for Williams Racing Formula One Team” I tilt my head to one side and laugh “Cool”

“So cool. What’s for you to be at the top of the game right now?, obviously avoiding the question that you must  be bored about” 

“Being a woman is fantastic, except for that thing every month but I can’t complain. I have to say that it’s not easy. You can dream of some things happening but all the same time, If you really wanted, the answer is get up and look for your better options to make things happen.” I gassped and look down and to the camera. “I remenber when I told my dad that I wanted to give it a try in karting and I wasn’t even 6, he looked at me like  I was some sort of silly muppet but then he make me promise that I will do great in school and then he will help me with the racing carreer I wanted. The rest is history”

A series of videos of her carreer show up, from her beginning in karts, F4, F3 and her successfull 2021 in F2 finishing as champion, smiling faces all around and obviously a very proud Charlotte.

“You just mention your dad. What about other members in your family? Friends or even a boyfriend?” I look at the producer with a side smile

“You guys are really something else, right?” they laugh “I’m single ready to mingle. I don’t talk to much about my family, I like to be private about that. I almost dropped all this. My family is my priority and two years ago I lost my mom due cancer so...”

“I’m sorry we don’t...”

“No, it’s okay” I smiled to the camera “She’s not here but I still talk about her like she’s just in the back of the house screaming to the dog for being so silly, she’s still here and I know she’s proud” 

“Sure she is. Just to finish ... Any expectations for your team. Everybody wanted to see you in a bigger team like Mercedes or Ferrari, did you hear any rumors about that?”

“Well, certanly I did hear, but the thing is, mmm, I always believe that If you wanna prove yourself is better to start from the very bottom, understand the little things and then you’ll find success, almost glory. Being in this sport is so tricky, like, one day you won in Monaco and the next day you’re out of the points or feeling that all your pasion is going out to your body” I see everybody’s faces like I was saying something fascinating “This is sport is like war, you better watch out your back ‘cause even your own team could kill you.”

“So, this is your year to discover yourself?”

“Yes, my bingo card this year will imply me being playing the art of war that is F1″

“Okay Charlotte, this is all for today. We’ll see you along the year”

“Thanks and don’t spill my secrets. Snitches end up in ditches, they say” 

I go out of the room straight to the Williams garage. Sure thing is that this year is going to be wild, after what happened last year between Red Bull and Mercedes, man, I really don’t want to be any member of those teams.

“Hello Ms. Jones, everything all right with Netflix?” My PR, Ava asked. She was in Alex side of the garage talking to other people

“Yeah, they’re like school girls” She laugh

“Yeah, sometimes. Today is media day so since you’re ready with your Williams merch, we can start signing some caps and cards and then continue with your schedule. Or do you want to start with press?”

“Up to you really, better doing the easiest first then I’ll face the sharks” We walk to a conference room when I found Alex with his girlfriend and his PR. Last year I met the girl in a tournament in the UK and we have been really close since then.

“Oh hello you, my girl and my boy rocking together this year” Lily said and hug me, while Alex put a false angry face

“Nice to see you Lily and yes, we’re going to rock or better than that” I said she smack Alex shoulder

“See, I tould you she has spirit!”

“I know, I think that everybody saw that video of her running along the track after her win in last year championship”

“Like a pro? So I can say <<inchident>> or even ask about the interviewers plans for the summer?” I showed Ava a side smiled

“Please don’t and you’re going to be in between, your name is on the sofa” I enter the room and saw the amount of people organized in the back of the room with notepads, cameras and tricky looks.

“So, welcome everybody to the second session here in Bahrain, we are here with Lando Norris from McLaren, Carlos Sainz from Ferrari, Charlotte Jones from Williams, Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes and Sebastian Vettel from Aston Martin. Welcome to the drivers, we’re going to have a round of questions for this sesion, if that’s ok” I look at the others who nod.

“Hello, this question is for Charlotte” Great. “We want to hear your first impresions of your new team, if you have the chance to meet the other drivers and expectations for your rookie season”

I tried to smiled but I suddenly felt like I wanna dissapear and the lights we’re too bright so I put on my glasses and I hear Lewis laugh and how he copy my action and take the microphone “It’s sunny outside so there’s no need to put the  light to bright, thanks guys” And squeezed my hand.

“Yeah, lights, mmm, almost everybody saw me in the car last year when I met the team and my teammate. Everything has been great so far, mmm I spent half of the holidays with the Sainz family, there been close to my mom’s family so, yeah, Carlos and his trainer just help me to get in better shape for this rodeo, something that I’m grateful for” I fist bump with Carlos and laugh “And expectations, well, I prefer to see how it goes after the race, I sent my ideas and questions the past month so I know now that the car is fast and let’s see If we can put Williams on the top again”

Sebastian took the microphone and look at me “Do you know about engineering?”

“Yeah, I finished my degree in mechanical engineering last month, obviously online, so...”

“That’s impresive, kid” answer Sebastian

“Am I the only one scared now?” Ask Lando to everybody. Everybody laugh at that. The interview session went smoothly and not many questions were to me, since Lewis was in the room, the events of november where reminded. Questions about strategies and upgrades for Ferrari and Aston Martin and the chances of McLaren of getting a podium this year. After that, the session ended, Carlos stopped me.

“Welcome officially, girasol” He hug me in the process and we heard a cough

“Are you good, man?” 

“Since my friend here it’s so disrespectfull, nice to meet you, yo soy Lago” 

“Nunca le enseñaste bien español” I said laughing to the spaniard

“Ciertamente él fue un terrible alumno”

“Please don’t. Back to a common language” I smiled to him and oh boy! such beautiful eyes

“Charlotte, rookie, friend of this guy, fan of dogs, chocolate cake and be on my xbox the whole day” I shake his hand and he gasp

“Marry me”

“In a few years, maybe” I look to Carlos who look at me with wide eyes

“I don’t want him on family holidays, ten moths are too much now” As we were walking through the paddock, a few photographers and fans aproach us. Since Carlando were more famous that I am, so I go straight to my motorhome to lay down for a bit.

Mind clear and then start proving myself.

I’m a girl, yes, but right now I feel that I have a chance to be like them, it’s ny time.

A champion, one ready to fight.

I finished my day with more media duties, to 6 pm I was going to wait for Carlos who offer a ride to the hotel. While I was waiting in the parking lot, the papaya pair waved at me.

“Hiya, you must me Charlotte. I’m Daniel, the one with good looks in the team” He said with a smile.

“Nice to meet you Daniel, how you guys doin’?”

“All good, we’re heading to the hotel, ready to kick asses tomorrow?” I saw how Lando seems certanly interested in the question

“I’m feeling normal, but yeah, let’s see tomorrow. My driver arrived so... see ya” I waved at them when Carlos opened his car. Daniel and Lando saw the couple leaving the parking lot when the australian looks at the youngest

“Say it”

“What?” 

“Why do you look so shock around her? I mean, even Max who lives in a rock knew about her”

“I’ve been friends of Carlos and I never see her around, it’s weird”

“Radio check, please” my race engineer said. Williams had the chance to start fourth in the two practices after Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Red Bull and Alpine.

“ And I thought my heart was detached, from all the sunlight of our past, but she's so sweet, she's so pretty, does she mean you forgot about me? Yeah, yes, I’m going to send you my playlist for the race, what dou you think?” 

“We’ll  evaluate that after practice”

“It’s not a no, I wil take it”

“Ok Charlotte, 30 seconds to start heating the tyres and whenever you ready, your flying lap”

“Copy”

“Now, we’ll have Williams coming out the pits to start practice, first our rookie Charlotte, fresh out the oven as F2 champion. She’s heating the tyres and has 15 minutes to do a few laps and see how that car goes”

On the broadcast, the faces of the team principals were on screen, with their expectations on the girl and see how she start.

“Ok Charlotte, you can start in the next lap with Leclerc and Ocon in front of you” I pressed the copy bottom. Here I go.

One thing about me it’s that I brake late but my left foot likes to keep itself on the throttle. A girl have to give it all, right?

“I feel like I’m watching the Mercedes W11 all over again. Wow! I can see a future world champion, multiple times If she wanted too”

“That car is fast” said Christian Horner looking to Max’s engineer “What the hell?” 

“Definitely it is” 

“Toto, even when she brake the car doesn’t go below 170 km/h. what?” Lewis and Bono stand beside the team principal of Mercedes.

“I think that your eight championship have to wait a bit, I can’t believe my eyes”

“That girl is the real Toretto, don´t you think?” asked Yuki to the french man

“I wanna throw myself down a hill to be honest” 

“What the f***?, which car is that?, I almost get dizzy” asked Charles over the radio

“That was a Williams, the rookie, she’s 3 seconds faster than you”

“This is going to be a long season. F***”

“Well done Charlotte. With his pace you can certanly win every race this season”

“Haha, good job to everybody from those in the factory to the ones in the garage. What about Alex?”

“As good as you, the difference is 0.337″

“That’s good”

“Yes, we’ll wait for you in the garage”

As I parked, I could heard the applauses from my team and the people around the garage.

Ep1 : Clash of The Titans

Four rookies entering Formula 1 this year.

Valentina who was sitting in her team’s uniform waves to the camera. It was cut short when it shows Yuki with his clapper. “My name is Yuki Tsunoda.” Haas’ Mick, “Mick Schumacher” and Nikita, “Nikita Mazepin, Haas Formula 1 Team” It then cuts to Val just staring, “Is it rolling?” she inquires after the prolonged silence. The crew laughs before beckoning her to introduce herself, “Yeah, go on” She clears her throat, “Hi, I’m Valentina Corbyn and I drive for Alfa Romeo.” Closing the clapper board a little bit too hard as she visibly flinches, “Oh!” The people behind the cameras laugh before it cuts to a different set-up.

“Eye contact with the cameras,” the photographer calls out to get every drivers’ attention. The video however zoom in on Valentina who was leaning on the car.

Spotting the camera she tries to send a disapproving look, pointing to the camera man as she shakes her head. The camera shakes in response.

There’s a lot of male pride and ego flying around… Val’s laugh is the first thing heard, “and I’m here to balance it!!” Exaggerating her actions as she points to herself. "Ooo, I just gave myself an ick, with what I've done there."

Showing a thumbs up, “You guys are good. Everyone’s all good,” the photographer ends their session as he walks away.

In the background, however, the well-known chaotic pair are at it again. This time Lando is seen fist-bumping her, walking side by side back to the garage. Val stopped in her tracks after he whispered something to her, and her expression showed faint shock at whatever that was. She completely faces him before playfully hitting his abdomen.

The action pushed Lando back and bumped into Carlos, who was behind them. Like a fed-up older brother, he just shakes his head and wraps an arm around Val’s shoulder, urging her to rush forward.

BAHRAIN Are you happy? Her look of confusion’s evident on her face, “Like the with the results of the race?” She makes sure with the person interviewing her. In which she gets an approving nod on her end. “From starting in 9th then to p5? Of course, very. It isn’t what we expected for my first race but it’s something that I’m happy this early on” Do you plan on placing higher? Quirking up a brow, “Yeah, I hope so. No driver is ever satisfied in their position unless they’re at the top. But I’ll take my time before I show the world more of what I got… at least, that’s what Kimi told me.” Val finishes with a refreshing smile directed at the camera.

Ep 2: Ace in the Hole aka a look into Lando and Val’s friendship

Lando and Valentina’s friendship started way back before their karting days. This year despite being rivals on the track, you can say that they’re quite the opposite off-track, in some way or another.

Panning the view to Val, hiding in the shade, she scrunches her face as she looks at Lando, about to swing the golf club for the nth time that day. Max, a mutual friend of theirs, motions her to come closer.

Pushing herself off the cart, Lando takes his chance to swing. After taking a couple steps closer, a groan erupts from him, earning him a chuckle from his friends.

“That’s quite a bad hit right there, innit?” Val teases him as soon as she’s stood next to Max.

Moving to get his turn, Max agrees with her while getting in position, “Yeah, you’ve had a shocker there, mate.”

“Shut up, the both of you,” Lando grumbles before jokingly kicking some dirt towards Val’s direction, causing her to shriek in displeasure.

Walking back near the cart, Max brings up Lando’s new teammate, Daniel Ricciardo. “So how are you feeling about Danny Ric this season, mate?… Confident?” Val, who is seen sitting on the grass, turned to look at Lando's expression.

Shrugging, “He’s obviously a good driver. Seven-time… Seven-time winner?” He said before looking at Val who is nodding at him.

“I got faith in you, buddy,” Max finishes as he takes a swing for his turn. Seconds later, it was Valentina’s turn to swing. Clearing her throat, she points at Lando before imitating Max’s tone, “I’ve got faith in you too, mate.” Swings the club… and intentionally misses the ball.

Lando stood there looking at her in faint disbelief, “You didn’t even hit the ball”, gesturing to the still intact golf ball and tee.

“Yeah, 'cause I also need to have faith and win myself.” She told him, as a matter of fact, before making a proper swing.

What is it about your and the Alfa Romeo rookie's relationship? Chuckling at the question, “Val? We’ve known each other for quite a while, probably half my life, more so hers. She’s like an itch that you can’t get rid of… but in a good way. Vali’s been one of the constants since before karting, as am I to her, so I’ll say we have a good ass relationship.” He ends his statement with a fond smile. What does it feel like to see her joining formula one and being rivals on track? Sucking in a breath, he wears a cheeky smile as he answers, “Seeing her come up on here and race us, makes me feel accomplished. Just 'cause I’ve seen where she’s started… And we’ve experienced a lot of things together with the others, so to get a chance in Formula 1, it’s more of like a win for the both of us, really.” “To being rivals it- we’re both really competitive people, too competitive as I might say so. But a race is a race, a win is a win, at the end of the day- or a race really, we’re still friends, nothing's about to change.”  Raising his eyebrows teasingly, “We’ll just have to prove who’s going to one-up the other this time.”

Ep 3: Tipping Point

MONACO

In the last five races, you’ve started up in p5 and then p3 in Portugal. In this race however, not only did you manage to outsmart the Max Verstappen in that last corner, but you have also won your very first Grand Prix, this early on in your career. How do you feel about that? Val, who was sitting back on the chair, smiled widely when asked about her unexpected win. “Honestly, it still hasn’t sunk in. It’s been like 2 or 3 weeks. But I feel great as a whole, makes me feel good about myself, like an unexplainable tingling sensation that happens throughout my body.” She said, wiggling in her seat to show the feeling. You have also celebrated with McLaren’s Lando Norris, who we’ve just known is a very close friend of yours. Taken aback, “Really? You’ve just known… isn’t that like common knowledge for you guys at this point?” She questions with a light voice before continuing. “Jokes aside. It’s amazing, it feels amazing to actually stand on a podium with one of your closest friends. Cause after all that daydreaming as kids you never would’ve thought you would reach the top this early on in your career..” And since then you’ve never dropped out of the top 5. “Yeah, that’s what keeps me awake at night. It’s become a “wow” factor for me as the season progresses. Never really thought I’ll be with the people I looked up to growing up, but now that I’ve stood- is standing, rather, next to them I feel like I’ve reached the next step or like phase of my life and that, along with this Grand Prix win, would help me become a better driver and a person as time passes.”

Ep 4: A Mountain to Climb

You’ve entered this season with two rookies and reports are already saying that you’re offering Alfa Romeo’s Corbyn a seat in Haas this early on in the season. What has Haas' Guenther have to say about all this? “I- uh, she’s good despite being a rookie, even better than some…” he looks around, giving them "the look" that says everything about what he means, “but I have a reason to believe our... negotiations will be on hold. Like how she did with her team in the last two years.. she uhm-”

With McLaren’s shoot on hold, Guenther takes his chance to walk right behind the team to have a small chat with Val who was once again wandering around the paddock.

The rookie still chatting up her closest companion, Lando, looks off to the side when her name was called. Lando, taking his chance, shoots her arm. Receiving a groan from her.

Guenther who was now closer to them call back her attention, “Hey, you. Answer my call yeah?”

She laughs knowing the meaning behind his words, but being the cheeky person that she is, tilts her head before innocently saying, “My phone isn’t on me. I’m sorry, I guess?”

Back to the interview, Haas’ team principal can only drag a hand down his face while letting out a breath, “That would be true if she’s been in contact with us, but she isn’t, so no.”

Ep 5: Staying Alive

Zooming in on Val congratulating Lando and Danny on their 1-2 Monza Win

The camera zooms past all the McLaren employees to show Valentina rushing inside towards Lando who’s still in the team’s garage after the podium.

Her voice, barely audible is heard over that chatting in the room, “Norris!!” she reaches up to take him into a hug, which Lando reciprocated. Letting go, Val pats his shoulder a wide smile on her face, “Well done, mate! McLaren be getting that 1-2 win, yes?”

Giving the younger one a never-changing appreciative smile, he pats her hand on his shoulder in return, “Yeah…” Their conversation fades out as Lando walks her out of the garage to where the rest of the drivers are.

Finally seeing the other McLaren winner, Val quickens her steps offering her hand out for a fist bump with Daniel, “Well done to you too, Ricciardo!”

He pushes her sideways by his hip, “Aww, isn’t that sweet. But don’t push it, kid. You’re just saying that, so I’ll congratulate you on your next win.”

Releasing an exaggerated gasp, she looks at the other two drivers, Carlos and Lando, “I am not... but you did say next so...” Fading out the conversation, she tries to kick his shin, which he did evade.

Ep 6: A Point to Prove

A driver and their engineer's radio moments are one of the most awaited when it comes to Formula 1. And to say that Val and her engineer Alejandro's radio moments are entertaining is an understatement.

Ep 7: Growing Pains

So far, the fellow has been the only one to raise Alpha Tauri’s Yuki Tsunoda’s spirits after a temper tantrum. And to say that isn’t a shock actually, with both drivers having fits on track you can say that the other actually handles themselves better. 

Standing by the door, Val currently has a clear view of the paddock’s entrance. Seeing Yuki’s familiar stature walking towards the building, she races both her arms up, as he enters, to get his attention.

Clearing her throat, she lets out the phrase she’s been practicing all night just to race Yuki’s spirits. It sort of became a thing between the two young rookies.

“Hey, Yuki-san!! Kyō no rēsu no junbi wa dekite imasu ka?” She said laughing at her broken Japanese. In response, Yuki laughed at her attempt and gave her a high five before responding and walking further away from the camera. (Are you ready for today's race?)

The few-second clips has shown Mercedes’ Toto Wolff arriving, Checo and his team on the track, Carlos and- rather Carlos’ team can be seen scurrying around the place, trying to find their missing driver.

A few minutes in and the drivers and their are getting ready for today’s practice. Buxton's voice in the background is heard as the hunt for Carlos Sainz is starting,

Valentina has clearly been a fan and paddock favourite ever since her debut. The way she fits in with the other 19 drivers who clearly dominate the area is surprising. Throughout the season Val has shown how capable she is as a rookie driver deserving of her seat, her confidence and attitude on track are what keeps her in the positions she’s currently at. And with the outstanding results she’s been getting, there’s no doubt she’ll be getting some contracts on her desk. But what these people forget is that this astonishing driver is the youngest on the grid at only eighteen...

Zooming in, a very peculiar situation can be seen inside the Ferrari motor home. A driver who clearly isn’t supposed to be there is currently on the couch, sleeping with Ferrari’s missing driver. 

Valentina is seen still wrapped up in her team’s jacket, leaning toward her fellow Spaniard who lets her, despite being called by his team a couple times. Seeing the camera recording them, Carlos places a finger towards his mouth gesturing for them to keep quiet as he points it to Valentina. 

This is a sight that the whole Formula 1 community has come to cherish.

For the second time in the series, Will Buxton, a known F1 journalist talks about another possible driver change, now for Red Bull Racing. Other than the fight for the championship, Alfa Romeo has had a massive comeback, currently running for fourth place verse McLaren. Points have been increasing, the majority coming from the rookie, Valentina Corbyn, who has scored the most points than the other three… Adding to her tremendous starting career as an f1 driver, Valentina not only has had Haas coming after her, but Red Bull Racing’s Christian Horner has also been a frequent guest at Alfa Romeo’s motorhome. With Red Bull only having signed Sergio Perez as their driver this season, is he ready to lose his seat to the 18-year-old that fast? “Bonjour”  “Bonjour” Red Bull’s Christian Horner greets the journalist in front of him. “There seems to be a high level of tension between the drivers, the team principals, and now the newly signed and rookie drivers. Is it good for Formula 1 or is it a bit—“ Cutting him off Christian answers, “It’s a competition, you know? It’s not a kids club. And you know, we operate in different ways. Toto will shout and scream at the camera. Maybe I’m a little bit more, calm.” “Other than that, rumours have been circulating that you’re in the process of having Alfa Romeo’s Corbyn sign in with Red Bull for next year’s season. What does that mean for Perez?” With a neutral stare, the Red Bull team principal crosses his arms to his chest, “Contracts are what keep a driver’s career running aside from their skills. Valentina’s a very skilled driver so if she does end up with us, the media isn’t going to be announcing it to the world.”

Lando, who has his foot in the air, can be seen trying to swat something, or rather someone, with his other slipper.

Pointing to Val, who was by the door, "Oi get her out. What the hell you’re doing here, anyway?"

Shrugging, she just raises her hands in surrender, "Don’t worry Lando, I've seen weirder stuff that you do."

Throwing his slipper at her response, the video pans as she's seen exiting the room.

Sighing at her antics, "Ok… Action!"

Who’s your money on? Smiling, Daniel shakes his head, "I’ve gone back and forth. At this rate, it’s a flip of a coin," he said, voice filled with hesitance. George, contrary to Daniel, went with a straight answer, "I think Lewis is gonna get it." Along with Lando, who was quite happy with his response, "I think it all points to one person… Max Verstappen" Pierre, with confidence, "Lewis and Max won’t see the second corner." Valentina, however, didn't give a clear answer when asked. She's caught off guard by the question as she stopped tying her hair up mid-way. "That is a dangerous question. If I want my dad to kill me, I’ll have to answer Max… But if I want Hor- a certain someone to get mad at me, I’ll say Lewis... You know what, let’s just wait and see." She concludes with that know loved smile of hers.

The clips show a range of drivers getting ready in their own garages, all went by smoothly before it ended with Alfa Romeo's final driver.

Val, having a hard time zipping her suit up, points to the camera mouthing, “See you soon on the podium!” Winking, after she's zipped up with the balaclava on her head before securing her helmet in place.

Salem watches from the garages. Everyone rushes around her in the race start, before settling down for a moment to watch as Yuki climbs the grid from his p16 starting position. With Liam close on his tail the two seem almost unstoppable.

Or as unstoppable as an AlphaTauri team can be.

Like a pair of tractors they mow into the midfield and up into the top ten.

Radios from both drivers play in the set of headphones Salem has on her head. At 27 laps, yet to pit, Liam is the first to experience problems. He started with softs, while Yuki is on mediums. Salem never got what the strategy was initially, but she can only hope it was a good one.

“Box box, Liam, box for mediums.”

At only tenth place, wether or not Liam would recover was a toss up. But they have 45 laps left and the car has performed well so far in the weekend. Yuki is left to push harder into the top ten, creating a buffer so that as he pits he can quickly recover.

“Time to see if Salem’s good omens can cover me too,” Liam’s tone is unsure. A nervous laugh covered the anticipation for a potentially botched pitstop.

He’s in and on his way in record time. Mechanics rejoice, celebrating what is possible the smoothest pit stop of the season.

Salem makes herself busy. She left the paddock as soon as the race was over, planning some sort of homemade dinner. Her whole drive back to her hotel room was spent debating between picking up a pizza and putting together some pasta.

Her choice would be the Chicago style pizza. However, Yuki has been really into Italian lately.

However, there’s also a pizza place down the block from the hotel that’s known for their Chicago style pizza.

Salem sets the pizza box on the little hotel desk to the side of the bed. Yuki has already texted her a couple times, letting her know when he was done, asking why she left already, and letting her know that he’s on his way over.

She sits, cross legged, on the foot of the bed scrolling through Netflix as Yuki makes it back to the room and onto the bed beside her. Her attention doesn’t move from the tv.

“I got us pizza.”

Yuki takes her hand in his, pressing a kiss to her wrist, then her shoulder. “Not hungry,” he whispers in her ear.

If anything racing usually builds a ridiculous appetite. Even more than Yuki has. Salem doesn’t say anything. Nothing that her accusatory stare can’t say. His brown eyes are innocent. Kind of blank. But innocent.

“Not feeling pizza?”

“It looks great.”

He’s pulled her into his lap, his head on her shoulder and arms wrapped tight around her waist.

“You already ate,” Yuki avoids eye contact. Like a puppy that knows he’s done something wrong.

“Yeah,” he says, “Redbull had a lot of extra food.”

The forecast said the day was supposed to be warm and sunny. So, Charles and Danielle had invited the AlphaTauri duo out for a relaxing day on the yacht during the summer break in Monaco. The group spent the day sunbathing, jumping into the sea, and laughing at Charles when he faceplanted into the water.

As the sun started to set and the wind picked up, Danielle felt the chill sink into her bones. After poking Charles to find out if he brought a jacket with him - he hadn’t - Pierre was quick to dig around his beach bag. She laughed as he yelled triumphantly at finding the AlphaTauri blazer stuck at the bottom of his bag.

Danielle slipped on the white and black jacket, mumbling a small thanks and turned to find Charles looking on in fake betrayal. She only laughed in return, quickly sliding her hand into Pierre’s bag to steal a matching AlphaTauri cap and placing it on Charles’ head.

Charles pretended as if he had been struck in the heart, which made her laugh harder. Soon enough, Charles was chasing Danielle all around the yacht in an attempt to exact revenge through a tickle war.

Pierre and Yuki took great amusement in the whole situation. Pierre had started pulling out his phone to record their shenanigans when Charles finally got a hold of Danielle. He discretely took a photo instead, Charles and Danielle’s smiles wide, Charles’ arms wrapped around Danielle and just barely lifted her off the ground. They looked young, happy, and in love.

The photo was soon sent to the couple, and quickly became Danielle’s home screen. They were so used to seeing it they hadn’t realized anything was wrong with putting it on Charles’ private Instagram account. So, when Charles posted a photo, this photo, the next month on his official Instagram instead of his private one, he created loads of chaos for his team.

She could imagine the headlines now-

With arms wide open, Danielle embraced the coming disaster. She had been working at Ferrari for the past few months in their PR department, and she knew Charles’ latest post was going to get both of them in a lot of trouble.

Looking back down at said post, she could only sigh in resignation, “You have gotten us in so much trouble, Seize.”

She remembered when the photo was taken, a fond smile creeping onto her face. If she closed her eyes, she could still feel the golden rays warming her skin, his strong arms wrapped around her as she leaned against him. The crisp smell of the ocean swayed around them and mixed with the stark smell of his aftershave.

A series of knocks on the door took her from her daydream. Taking a deep breath to prepare herself for the scolding she was about to receive from her boss, she quickly sighed in relief when it was just Charles at the door.

“Ma chérie, I am so sorry! I only just noticed it was to the wrong account and-” Danielle pulled him inside and wrapped him in a hug, arms slipping around his back. His chin rested on top of her head as she slotted perfectly into his hold.

“Don’t worry, Charles. Relax, I’m not mad- well, I’m a little mad but we’ll deal with that later.” Her voice was slightly muffled as she spoke into Charles’ soft hoodie, his scent comforting her from the hell she was going to receive soon.

“Are we in trouble, ma chérie?” His voice was soft, but he held her tightly as if afraid something or someone was coming to snatch her away from him.

“So much trouble, Seize,” she giggled into his chest, “so much trouble. But it’s okay, we’ve got each other. We’ll be fine.”

Danielle could hear a throat clearing, but as she tried to step back Charles just squeezed her tighter against him. She softly whispered his name and gently squeezed his arm, and he reluctantly let her go. Sliding a polite smile onto her face, she turned to face her boss, Serena, who looked completely unimpressed with the couple standing before her.

“I honestly don’t know what to say. Should I scold you for letting this happen or should I scold Charles for being stupid enough for thinking about posting this in the first place?” She was quick to hold up her hand when Danielle tried to reply.

“That was a rhetorical question. I will be scolding both of you, so I hope you don’t have anywhere to be,” she pointed towards the seats across the table and the pair slowly slid down into them as if they were toddlers being put into time-outs.

After getting lectured at for what seemed to be days, Serena finally left the couple with a warning that this could never happen again. Danielle’s hands covered her face only moving to whack Charles on the shoulder when he started to giggle. However, this only led to him laughing louder which in turn caused Danielle to start laughing as well.

“You are so lucky I love you, Charles Leclerc,” He only smiled in return, grabbing her hand and leaving a chaste kiss on it.

“I love you too, ma chérie.”
