oh my goshhhhhh I've been meaning to get around to watching that! I've seen a few episodes but I am a DIE HARD Ghost Adventures fan. If you're into horror, "The Haunted Museum" (part of the franchise, Zak Bagans LOL) is like my new fave horror show. Basically this mf has a museum of haunted items and he'll pick an item to highlight for each episode and then there will be a dramatic "story" told about the potential history of the item. 10/10 recommend but not for the faint of heart so don't watch if you aren't a seasoned horror enthusiast. That said, ACTUAL Ghost Adventures isn't so scary, so give it a try if you haven't-- the comedic relief is 10/10 bc Zak is so ridiculous (male aries behavior) 💀
I agree though Y/N is like ???? you two are really into this, huh? The resident skeptic in the house is Hoseok, though 😉 XOXO!!!

Any book series/book recommendations?
I am so bad at reading books these days - read them all when I was a child (pre-internet, books were where I went to escape lol) and so I burned out on the whole reading thing by high school 🤣.
Weirdly enough, now that I think about it - that book burnout coincided with me discovering the internet and fanfic.
Huh.
Anyway! The last thing paperback I read was the Prince Harry book, which was kind of interesting but also a little too whiny at times for me (and I say this as someone who has nothing against Prince Harry). If you want to read pages upon pages of a man talking about how his dick was frostbitten in the Arctic and he had to go to his brother's wedding all cold dicked, then this is the book for you. 👍
As far as series are concerned - I actually watched the entire HBO Chernobyl series on my flight home from Alaska a few months ago and it was very well done. Scary as shit, kind of (very) alarming ...but well done. Would definitely recommend if you are into realistic depictions of real life events and heavy themes. Would NOT recommend if the thought of disaster makes you nervous.
For fun, lighthearted stuff - pre-Zak Bagans Halloween Wars are pretty fun.
On youtube, I watch a lot of random shit but a few people I regularly go back to are:
1, Dylan is in Trouble: if you like watching a grown man react to Disney Channel movies and really critique them as if they are Oscar contenders, this is the place for you 🤣 He does do way more than Disney Channel movies as well...he also has a series where he watches the first and last episode of a TV show ONLY and then ranks the show based on those two episodes. That's also fun!
2, Yes Theory: the original travel content/tfil type of Channel. I don't think they do too much anymore, bit their old content is good if you like random travel challenges and content.
3, Ok this one is weird, but bear with me: Hollywood Graveyards. The description basically covers what it's about - this guy goes into different graveyards in LA (and sometimes around the world), finds famous peoples' Graves, and then gives a brief background into that person's life. I don't know why I enjoy it, but I do 🤣.
Um, anyway...this was no help at all, I feel...but I hope at least something on here strikes your fancy!!

Hi allie!! I see you guys are talking about the haunted museum!! i’ve never been, but i absolutely love Zak Bagan’s show, Ghost Adventures!! I’m from Florida, and they visited a place not to far from me called the Riddle House. I don’t really remember the story, only that a man killed himself in the attic of the building. Me being me, i decided to go on a tour of the house, and in the children’s room, i felt like i couldn’t breathe. oh my god, it was horrible. my brother doesn’t believe in ghosts, so i literally told him to go to the haunted museum and say that ghosts aren’t real and see what happens LOL! I also just finished watching the new Jeffrey Dahmer series, and I am so freaked out. He’s so fucked up!! i knew he was fucked up, but oh my god??? i was crying so much throughout it as well. then obviously when i was done, i went on a youtube rampage of watching interview of his bc it’s so interesting. for my psychology class, we’re doing a project where you have to analyze a celebrity’s brain. i’m upset that i didn’t pick dahmer, because that would have been so interesting!! Also, did you know that Post Malone went to the haunted museum and him and Zak opened the dybbuk box or something like that? then after that, Post Malone got a streak of bad luck. apparently he almost got into a plane crash, his house was targeted for a robbery, and something else happened that i’m not quite remembering. when i do go to the museum, i told myself that there will be rooms that i will be avoiding!! I will be avoiding Peggy’s room, because she has been known to cause chest pain, and maybe heart attacks??? they always say to not look into her eyes. I will also be avoiding the Dybbuk box’s room because I don’t want anything to do with that box LMAO!! I saw that you said that you were watching videos on the museum, so i have to recommend one!! I don’t know if you’re familiar with Sam and Colby, but they do a bunch of investigations!! They did one a while back on Zak’s museum!! it was literally horrifying!! They’ve also done a few on the conjuring house where they brought a medium with them as well!! it was so interesting to watch!! ndowjfoejf i could literally talk about this stuff all day!! i had a history class where the teacher and i bonded over our fascination with serial killers (in a “wow, i wonder what makes them like this” kind of way lol). hope you have a wonderful night and if you ever wanna talk about any of this kind of stuff, my DMs are ALWAYS open!! sending you love!! 💓
Holy fuck, I’m so happy I didn’t catch this message last night because I sure would be even more freaked out than I was already 😂 wow! Anyway, I love all of this lol thank you for sharing!
Zak Bagan had a familiar face but I didn’t realise where I knew him from. I used to watch Ghost Hunters a lot, Ghost Adventures not so much.. but I’ve probably seen a few now that you mentioned. I googled and they apparently have an episode on Cecil Hotel, I will definitely be watching that one.

I’m new to the fandom, what videos do u recommend from Sam and Colby?
oh lord, there are so many.
i mean you could always do the crazy thing and just watch everything… but that's probably not why you're asking me lol
i'm just gonna give you a bunch of recommendations, and if you wanna watch them all, go ham. if not, i'll put * next to the ones that i think are a must watch.
recent videos of theirs i would recommend: season 2 so far is really good, and there's only two videos as of late from that, so checking those out would be a good start. *zak bagans museum especially.
previous videos from season one: *bellaire house, fairfield infirmary, *mansfield prison, stanley hotel.
*sallie house was really good. that one i would check out for sure.
both *conjuring houses as well since i think those are their best overall. *dracula's castle and waverly hills were also some good ones from hell week.
queen anne, *shanley hotel, and wilson castle. those were pretty decent as well.
their *chernobyl series is good change of pace if you're looking for something not spooky lol
25x25 series that they did last year was good but the ones i recommend the most from that time period is the *shipwreck one (deep sea diving), surviving overnight on an abandoned island, and abandoned beach hotel.
cerro gordo series was also really fun.
all of that ^^^ was from that last two years. if you want recommendations for things prior to that, send me another ask if you want. i don't want to bombard you with too many suggestions lol

Those Empty Eyes by Charlie Donlea
Tumblr media
Title: Those Empty Eyes Author: Charlie Donlea Series: N/A Number of Pages:  358 Genre:  Murder Mystery Publisher: Kensington Date of Original Publication: March 28, 2023 ISBN:   978-1496727176
Those Empty Eyes by Charlie Donlea was the final book of the season for my local mystery book club. It has really great reviews on Amazon but for me I felt it was pretty mediocre.
The beginning was really eventful and kept my interest. I liked the main character and thought she was credible. Most of the characters in the novel are realistic to a point and keep the novel flowing. The events are entertaining and not hard to follow. There was one character that could’ve been completely cut from the entire book and the story would’ve still made sense. But I understand why they kept her, she was the reporter that gave the book its title so she had to keep coming back around.
I did not like the odd back and forth in this book. There were a few time jumps in the main story and then a back story from multiple points of view. Unfortunately that back story gave away who the killer was in the first and second flash backs which is what made me lose interest in the middle. I just wanted to see how she’d figure it out and wrap up the storyline. The ending isn’t really a shock if you paid attention to the flashbacks. I was surprised how many good reviews this book got, a lot of people didn’t see it coming.
I’d recommend it for a read once, probably wouldn’t read it again.

Who started the TV Paranormal show trend? Has it been good for the field?
The paranormal is a fascinating subject, with plenty of evidence for the existence of ghosts and other entities that most people can't see. But there's also a lot of pseudoscience in the field, from people claiming to be psychic when they're really just guessing or making up stories. Paranormal TV shows have helped promote some legitimate research into parapsychology—but they've also given pseudoscience more credibility than it deserves. How does this impact the field? And what are some ways we can make sure that paranormal researchers are taken seriously by skeptics and believers alike?
Ghost Hunters
As you may have noticed, we're talking about Ghost Hunters. The show first aired in 2004 on the now-defunct Sci-Fi Channel and ran until 2016 when it was canceled by network executives who thought it was time for a new paranormal adventure series. But before all that happened, there were Zak Bagans, Nick Groff, and Aaron Goodwin - three guys who started out as fans of the paranormal but then decided to become ghost hunters themselves. Their show followed their journey as they investigated areas around America where people had claimed to see things that go bump in the night.
Their show became popular enough that there exist entire websites devoted solely to debunking some of the evidence they use during episodes (and sometimes even real life). They've also been featured on other shows like Travel Channel's Mysteries at the Museum; A&E Biography; Biography Channel's Psychic Kids; Syfy's Ghosthunters: On Icy Trails Of The Adirondacks; Discovery Channel's Will To Live: The Final Journey Of Scott Carpenter And Paranormal Caught On Tape (with Nick Groff).
TAPS family (The Atlantic Paranormal Society)
The TAPS family is made up of Jason Hawes, Grant Wilson, Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango. The two brothers (Jason and Grant) are the head honchos of the operation. They are based in New York City and run a paranormal investigating company called Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS).
The group was first formed in 2003 when they were filming a documentary titled "Beyond the Grave". It was this film that gave birth to what we now know as Ghost Hunters fame!
Ghost Adventures
Zak Bagans, Nick Groff, and Aaron Goodwin are the people behind Ghost Adventures. This reality television series follows Zak Bagans, Nick Groff, and Aaron Goodwin as they investigate locations that are reported to be haunted. The show is produced by MY-Tupelo Entertainment for Travel Channel in association with Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum.
Ghost Adventures premiered on October 17, 2008, with an initial order of 13 episodes discovered from a season one DVD release at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con panel that took place before Halloween weekend.[7] According to Nielsen Media Research data released in March 2009,[8] Ghost Adventures was viewed by approximately 1 million viewers per week during its first season run on Travel Channel;[9][10][11] it then began its second season run on July 21st, 2009 with an episode titled “The Legend Of Bloody Mary” (Parts 1 & 2), which included some special guests including Taryn Manning who portrayed herself as well as her character's name while filming The OC tv show back in 2003 when she was cast among other notable actors such as Rachel Bilson (Audrey Hayes)and Josh Henderson(Ryan McPartlin).
Haunting Evidence
The show was hosted by Dave Schrader, who had previously been the host of Ghost Hunters. It ran for 5 seasons and had a strong following, but was eventually canceled due to a lack of funding. The format was similar to Ghost Hunters: each episode featured two teams of investigators visiting different haunted locations, who would spend their time investigating said location before returning later on in the evening to share their findings with each other via video conference call.
The main difference between Haunting Evidence and Ghost Hunters is that while both programs investigated haunted houses, Ghost Hunters focused more on seeking out spirits or ghosts than they did trying to prove there were no such things as ghosts; whereas Haunting Evidence made it their mission statement (no pun intended) to disprove all paranormal activity at any given time - which created tension between them and viewers who believed in what they were doing.
Most Haunted
Who started the TV paranormal show trend? Has it been good for the field of parapsychology? Let’s start with Most Haunted, which has been credited as being one of the first reality shows about ghosts. It was also one of the first shows to use EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomena), which is when you hear a voice on an audio recording, but no one was physically present at that time or place. The show also used scientific equipment like thermal imaging and electromagnetic field detectors, which are used by professional ghost hunters today.
Paranormal TV shows have had a very big influence on the field of parapsychology.
In the field of parapsychology, we have seen a great rise in popularity and interest. For example, over the last few years, there has been an increase in people claiming to be psychics and mediums. People are also forming groups dedicated to researching paranormal phenomena. All of these things can be attributed to paranormal TV shows like Ghost Adventures, Paranormal State and Most Haunted which have had a very big influence on the field.
Paranormal TV shows have had a very big influence on the field of parapsychology by making it more mainstream, popular, and accessible.
Paranormal TV shows have been a very big influence on the field of parapsychology. They have brought people into it and created new interest in it. While some people dislike them and think they are not real, others like them because they enjoy watching ghost hunters or other paranormal investigators on television. These shows have also helped create new jobs for those who want to become ghost hunters or investigators themselves by learning from those who are already working in this field so they can learn how their job is done correctly before starting out on their own adventures.

Here and Now - Part 3
Zak Bagans x Reader
Warnings: None. Just some playful, sarcastic teasing.
Word Count: 1,283
Series Master List || My Fanfic Master List
Tumblr media
You munched on your pancakes as you watched your favorite show on your iPad. This was the time you loved, the time where you could just veg out and relax. You were sporting some black leggings and a long, very oversized shirt you found at the bottom of your drawer a few months back. The origin of the garment was totally forgotten, but it was freaking comfy.
Your phone buzzed beside you, nearly making your jump out of your skin. Peering down at the screen, you chuckled.
1 New Message: Aar Bear
(3:05pm) Aaron: So, I hear someone I know has a date tomorrow…
You groaned. Oh boy. What was this dork going to tease you about now?
(3:07pm) Y/N: Well, technically, two people you know have a date tomorrow.
(3:09pm) Aaron: I know. Two of my favorite people. I just wanted to say I hope you have fun, and that I’m happy for you. Both of you.
(3:10pm) Y/N: Thanks Aaron. I’m sure it will be fun. Zak said it’s a surprise and won’t tell me where he’s taking me. :(
(3:13pm) Aaron: Well, trust me, it will be fun. ;D
(3:15pm) Y/N: Wait, you know where we’re going? Dude, tell me!!!
You frowned and sighed. Sure, you liked having things planned out for you. But, you liked knowing what you were talking into. Too much of your life, especially recently, involved the unknown. So, in your private life, you preferred predictability.
(3:16pm) Aaron: Of course I do! I helped him plan it! Well, just the details. It was mostly his master plan.
Your stomach sank a little. If Aaron had anything to do with this date, you knew there was going to be some sort of joke on you.
(3:18pm) Well, if you try to sneak a prank in on this date, I’m going to make sure the rest of your life is absolute hell. And that’s not a threat, it’s a promise.
(3:19pm) Aaron: Oh, don’t worry. It will be perfect.
Well, that didn’t ease your nervousness at all. If anything, that wasn’t exactly a ‘no’ on the whole prank thing. You honestly wouldn’t put it past him to show up during your date, or tape you from afar.
But, you weren’t going to allow yourself to dwell on that. You were looking forward to seeing Zak one-on-one, going on whatever adventure he had planned for you.
You took your last bite of pancakes, then headed for your living room. Tomorrow was going to be great, you had no doubt. Well, almost no doubt. But, for now, you needed to rest and daydream about what was to come.
Tumblr media
You leapt to your feet the moment your doorbell rang. Sure, you were still a bit sleep deprived, but the adrenaline running through you was enough to give you more energy that you usually had on a normal day.
Plus, Zak had promised you coffee.
You opened the door to reveal a very dapper looking Zak. You smiled, taking in his very well fitted button-down short sleeved shirt, and his black cargo pants. His hair was gelled in its usual way, and his glasses were perched on his nose as normal, but something about him seemed even more handsome today.
Or maybe it was your excitement.
“Good afternoon, gorgeous. Did you sleep well?” He smiled, his hands deep in his pockets.
You nodded. “Oh yeah. I woke up just after noon. It was glorious.” Zak laughed.
“Sounds like we had the same morning.” He peered down the hall towards the glass doors at the front of your building. “Well, your chariot awaits,” he chuckled, extending his hand. “Shall we?”
Your chest fluttered the moment your hand slipped into his. This is really happening. Your tiny backpack rocked against the right side of your back as he led you down the hall towards his car.
Once you were in the car, Zak gestured to his ridiculously fancy center console, where two large cups of coffee were waiting for you. You grinned, realizing you probably needed the coffee more than you thought.
“Yours is right here. It’s a caramel… something. I can’t pronounce the freaking word. The girl at the drive through had a field day correcting me.” Zak chuckled and rolled his eyes.
“A macchiato?” you guessed, making sure to annunciate every syllable.
“Yeah, a mackato.” You laughed, quickly clutching your coffee with both hands, making sure not to spill it in Zak’s fancy ride.
“Macchiato,” you repeated, struggling to hold back your chuckle.
“Right, that’s what I said.” You just rolled your eyes, giggling to yourself. He was such a dork.
“Right.” You turned to look out the window as Zak pulled out of his parking spot.
“So, are you excited about our adventure?” Zak inquired, his eyes glued to the road. You took a sip of your coffee. A caramel macchiato indeed.
“I’m excited. However, I’d be a little more excited if I knew where we were going.” You turned to him, offering a questioning, yet playful glare.
Zak smirked, his eyes still on the road as he turned. “Well, let’s just say it’s somewhere you’ve been whining about not being able to go to. But, it’s somewhere that the rest of the team has been more times than we can count.” Zak glanced over at you as he reached for his own coffee. “And, well, let’s just say I’m also kind of offended you haven’t been there yet.”
You snapped your head towards him. Was he taking you to a location? Was he going to have you investigate a place together? Sure, you loved your job, but that wasn’t exactly your idea of romantic. Plus, what place hadn’t you investigated in Vegas?
So, where the hell was he taking you? It almost seemed like he was driving in circles, trying to throw you off and confuse you. It had almost been four years since you had moved to Vegas, and you had worked at two hospitals in that town. It was safe to say you knew where you were going. Not to mention that Zak had been living there for far longer than that.
And this route was, well, it was definitely a diversion.
“Are you giving me the scenic tour of Vegas first?” you teased, catching on to his game. Zak huffed a laugh. “I have to say, Mr. Bagans, you’re a pretty crappy tour guide.”
“There’s no fooling you, is there? Okay, we’re almost there anyway.”
You took another sip of your coffee, catching a glimpse of Zak’s stunning profile. “Good, ‘cause I’m getting carsick,” you played. Zak scoffed, pretending to be offended.
“Hey, I’m a very good driver.”
“You believe whatever you want. But, let’s just say you’re lucky you’re cute,” you teased, your lips curling into an almost painful smile. The two of you burst into laughter.
He winked. “Damn right, I am.”
Zak turned down a street you distinctly remembered, catching you off guard. Wait, no, he wouldn’t bring you there. Your heart leapt into your throat as excitement prickled under your skin. Now everything was starting to make sense.
Zak pulled into the private, gated parking lot of the one place of significance to Zak that you hadn’t been to yet. You stared at the front sign of the building, taking in the reality of it.
“Well here we are,” Zak announced with a smile. He seemed almost as excited as you were, and he owned damn the place. “I hope I can redeem my tour guide reputation.”
You stared up at the building in front of you in a mix of shock and awe. “Wow, freaking finally.” You grinned. “The Haunted Museum.”

GHOST ADVENTURES star ZAK BAGANS and filmmaker ELI ROTH join forces for New horror anthology series THE HAUNTED MUSEUM
The creepy collection of haunted artifacts housed inside Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum are getting the spotlight in a new horror anthology series produced in collaboration with filmmaker Eli Roth. Launching exclusively on discovery+ later this year, THE HAUNTED MUSEUM will present the frightening and hellish tales behind the spooky relics on display in Zak Bagans’ (Ghost Adventures) Las Vegas museum, by way of scripted shorts produced by Roth and his accredited team, and with featured commentary from Bagans himself.
Tumblr media
Bagans’ extensive collectibles, numbering in the thousands, are exhibited across the 30-room, 14,000-square-foot mansion, and span from paranormal legends and true crime to Hollywood pop culture and haunted history. The series consists of a special two-hour episode, plus eight additional hour-long episodes.
“I’ve been a fan of Zak for many years and absolutely love his passion, drive and incredible research on all things paranormal,” said Eli Roth. “He has amassed a collection unlike any in the world, and we are thrilled to tell the stories behind these truly terrifying objects.  What I love most is that the objects are all real and that people can go and see them if they dare. Zak opened the vault to us to pick the scariest and most fascinating variety of objects, and we have an amazing team of filmmakers bringing these stories to life. The show will not be for the faint of heart. Some people have nightmares simply looking at photos of the objects, and now we will be able to tell the stories of how these objects came to be possessed by something truly terrifying.”
“Eli Roth is a master of horror, and I couldn’t think of a more talented visionary to help bring the stories of my haunted collection to life,” added Zak Bagans. “These are no ordinary objects, they impart fear and terror on those who come into contact with them. Now, with Eli’s expertise for thrill-provoking storytelling, viewers will get the ultimate frightening glimpse into their real horror.”
Paranormal investigator and GHOST ADVENTURES host Zak Bagans has a relentless passion to identify, research and collect haunted objects from all over the world. In 2017, Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum opened its door to the public, revealing Bagans’ frightful and fascinating collection to those brave enough to enter. But visitors often get far more than just a visual experience. Many bear witness to the hellish, dramatic and sometimes demonic effects of the items that fill its galleries. Dizziness, chills, convulsions and scratches are par for the course here, giving the Haunted Museum a reputation for not just providing glimpses of the paranormal world, but entrances into it.
Now, Bagans is opening the museum vaults, sharing the secrets and stories behind a curated selection of his most prized haunted items, including the Dybbuk Box, a carved wooden statue owned by actor Steve McQueen, the Westerfeld dollhouse, actor Bela Lugosi’s mirror, the Devil’s Rocking Chair and more. Complementing Bagans’ testimony, each object’s backstory is retold via its own mini horror film, scripted and produced in collaboration with renowned director Eli Roth.
THE HAUNTED MUSEUM is produced by Cream Productions. For Cream Productions, the executive producers are Matt Booi, Kate Harrison Karman and David Brady. Eli Roth and Zak Bagans also serve as executive producers. For discovery+, the executive producer is Christine Shuler.

So, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I actually liked the Mizpah Hotel video of season 2, just as much as I did the Zak Bagans Museum Episode.
Mind you, this video was absolutely a filler episode, but sometimes fillers can be the secret bangers of the series, so...good for them.
Anyway, my review and thoughts are behind the cut, but before we get to that:
Disclaimer: everything below the cut is my opinion, and opinions are not law. The definition of opinion is: "a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge." Please keep that in mind as you proceed.
Here are the areas I want to wax poetic about this week:
We need to talk about Amanda
How to kick game to a ghost prostitute, featuring Colby Brock
The investigation/evidence
As you all know, I am not Amanda’s biggest fan.  I consider her to be what I always call a “boardwalk psychic:” which is to say, someone who really over-inflates their psychic abilities and uses a lot of psychological sleight of hand and tricks to make themselves look more psychic than they really are.
The biggest and best example of this, with Amanda, is her constantly waiting until someone says something about an experience they had with something paranormal in whatever room they are in for her to suddenly step in and go, “I was just about to say I saw this thing you just described verbatim!”
She’s always just about to say, you know?
Anyway, in her first appearances on the snc channel, I railed against this and her need to pretend like she was some kind of all powerful being that could control demonic entities with her words (I’ve written novels on the stupidity of the whole “left vs right” thing).  I found her to be kind of rude, at least 80% full of shit, and not credible in the least.
So, it’s been...surprising to me that the last three times she’s been in an snc video, she hasn’t been like that as much.
I don’t know if she’s read some of the criticism against her and decided to tone it way the fuck down, whether the boys have read some of the criticism against her and decided to tone her way the fuck down in editing, or whether she just suddenly lost all of this supposed flashy over-the-top abilities she possessed and is now just a run of the mill medium, but...whatever happened, I am vastly preferring her now.
I’m also massively confused as to how, all of a sudden, she barely sees anything, but- whatever.  I’m picking my battles, and letting shit slide.
Let’s move on to more pleasant things: namely, our old friend Colby Brock and his on-fire paranormal love life.
Before we get to the love life- I just want to point out how objectively funny it is that Colby got nauseous to the point of almost puking, but his first thought was, “Keep filming, cause if I do puke, it’ll be great content.”
Now, I love me some snc content, but I’m not watching either of them release any kind of bodily function on camera, so I’m glad that never came to fruition.
Now, I found Colby’s demeanor in this entire video to be quite interesting. Of particular interest to me, is what was going on with him when he spent 15 minutes in the bedroom by himself and made contact with Rose.  The fact that he even said he felt relaxed, calm, safe, etc...and then was exhibiting signs of extreme relaxation (at certain points, he almost seemed stoned) was fascinating to me.  Five minutes prior to this, this man was contemplating puking on camera, and was talking about how he was feeling really hot and kind of feverish, and now he’s in a bubble of peace and serenity, with a warm back and a sleepy voice and he's feeling none pain.
Also, Colby’s way of flirting with a ghost prostitute is *chef’s kiss.* Some of my favorite lines include:
“Rose, I heard you like single men...I’m a single man.”
“Do you ever wish there were more clients that came your way? ...I’m down to be your client.” *instant regret*
(*my personal favorite) “I’d love to get to know you, I’d love to talk to you...I’d love to hear everything about your life, what you’ve been doin-” *realizes that he’s asking a ghost about their life and starts laughing* “I don’t know what the fuck I’m saying.”
When he opened the door to Sam and the girls afterwards, he almost looked like he was in a trance.  He legit looked like he was about 5 minutes away from falling asleep and taking one hell of a sweet 🍃 induced nap.
Like, whatever Rose did to him, she did him goooooood.
He seemed to carry that relaxation with him to the Estes Method, because that was the calmest I have ever seen him during one of those.  I’ve spoken about Colby and the Estes Method before, and how it always feels really heavy and kind of freaks me out when he is the one doing it, because of the way he always exhibits signs of being anxious or almost in pain, and the way he almost adopts the tones and inflections of the voices he is hearing.  But this episode- man was cool as a cucumber the entire time.
And then he went and slept (naked) in that bed that night.  That whole room was Colby Brock catnip, and he was rolling in it.
Anywhosies, speaking of the Estes Method- let’s talk about the Investigation/Equipment.
First of all, one tiny little thing that bugs me about these hotel investigations: if you know there are other guests in the hotel, any noises you hear from behind hotel room doors that you don’t have access to should be immediately discounted.  Yes, someone could easily be behind a door at 12:00 jiggling a door handle.  They could be doing anything. You’re out in the hallway with a spirit box at 12:00 at night, who are you to judge?
Anyway, onto the main investigation.  I want to start by saying that I think their little REM pod thing is shot.  I truly don’t even understand what that thing is supposed to be detecting, and I don’t even necessarily know if I buy it- but the way it was hyper malfunctioning in this video really gave me “there’s a short in the system” vibes, not “there’s a ghost doing the hokey pokey all around it” vibes.  I think it’s time they use that Amazon affiliate link they have in their video descriptions and buy themselves a new one.
Also, as far as equipment goes: what happened to their thermal camera?  I actually like and am interested by that thing, but they hardly ever bring it along.
I found Mackie and Amanda’s experience here to be kind of interesting.  They both said from the jump they didn’t feel welcome there (meanwhile, Colby’s is happier than a pig in shit the whole time, lol), and they alternated between feeling their hair pulled constantly, or being completely ignored and not getting any substantial evidence.
One thing I’d like to point out is, when they were in the basement and Amanda got her hair pulled- the tour guide (who btw, was exhibiting quite a bit of nervous energy) claimed there were finger prints on the shelf behind Amanda that weren’t there before.  That isn’t true- they were there before. Debunked.
They had some interesting things with the spirit box- for example, when Amanda said she heard hello, and Sam said maybe it was just her who heard it, and they immediately heard, “Just you,” through the spirit box- that’s some interesting stuff right there.  You don’t need to jump through hoops to connect those dots.  I like it.
The whacky flashlight tricks- eh.  I’m not a big fan of those (as you all know, lol), but they were at least coinciding with a lot of what they were asking, so that’s cool.
The teddy bear- also eh.  I don’t get it, don’t believe in it, don’t really need to see it again.
Their alone time: I already talked about Colby’s, and not much happened during the girls’ time, but what I really want to know is, did Sam do any kind of research afterwards into who Terry was/could be?  I’m assuming not, since they didn’t say anything about it- but if they had dug some digging, and turned up a Terry at some point in the history of the hotel (or even in the legends), that would’ve been awesome.
The Estes was also kind of interesting- like I said before, Colby’s extremely uncharacteristically calm demeanor during the session was kind of jarring, but I think it actually made for a decent session.  He certainly got a lot of interesting answers, some that actually did match up well with what was going on throughout the night. It was also interesting that the girls eventually had to dip so Sam could continue to get substantial answers.
I also don’t blame the girls for moving floors.  Who wants to sleep in a room where you’ve been made to feel unwelcome all night?  Colby seemed to be living it up in that room, so at least someone got use out of it. 🤣
Anyway, a few miscellaneous highlights:
Not having a “What’s up guys, it’s Sam and Colby” at the beginning kind of throws the whole thing out of whack, so -1 point for that.  Sorry, boys- you’re stuck doing that until you’re 80, at this point.
Colby equates amazing smelling areas with grandmas. *jots that down for future reference*
Sam trying to be serious and invite a bunch of miners to the Hotel, meanwhile Colby is having ptsd flashbacks to 2020/2021, when he was getting hardcore cancelled on twitter for such cancellable offenses such as *checks notes* going for a walk on Jan 6th and wishing women a Happy Women’s Day.  “Don’t cancel me on twitter.”
The sexual innuendos in this one- 😘
I love how proud Colby was that he had a whopping $75 bucks in cash on him.
Colby, to the other 3: “You guys all have the same hair color, it’s kinda beautiful.” This man.
Colby, to Rose: “Rose, we’re inviting you specifically to the 3rd floor, if you wanna come” 😏 No wonder she was all about this man, lol.
Sam should chill on the caffeine before these investigations, cause damn was he jumpy, lol.
Overall, I’m giving this one another solid 7.5/10.  So far, I’m definitely enjoying this season quite a bit!
Of course, that is going to change next week, because judging by the preview alone, I am going to haaaaate the special guest stars, so you may not hear much out of me on the next one, lol.  But still.  Solid start!

i guess since i did this last season, i'll do it for this one as well.
here's my review of season two, episode one of snc's new series 'empath'
aka "Our Most Demonic Experience | Zak Bagans Haunted Museum"
so going into this season, i had a lot of ideas i wanted snc to try out, or at least things i was looking forward to them possibly doing.
and while none of that technically happened in this video, i do think overall this video was really good. i was on the fence before about this one, since i was curious as to if this one was just gonna be like season one a couple months later or a different thing altogether. and so far, if the rest of the season plays out like this one, i think this will be a lot better than last season.
the thing that i thought was the most interesting about the museum was not the items that were in them, but the fact that the whole place - in a weird way - is an egregore. if you don't believe that those items are haunted, i don't think anything will happen to you. like as much as this might be slightly silly to admit, while idk if the peggy doll's curse is real, i do believe in curses/bad luck. and bc of that, i didn't look into her eyes. but i bet if i would have, i would have had bad things happened to me that would have felt like they were her fault and not my own/just bad timing.
i think it's interesting to wonder about places like these, maybe even places like the warren's house with all of their items. are these items actually haunted, or is it that so many ppl believe them to be that they just become that? all the negative energy we focus on it… can that make it into a monster?
so snc and crew went thru and did five sections in this video, i'll go thru and rate which ones i thought were actually scary/paranormal.
peggy the doll: i would have rate that whole area like a 2/5, at MOST. like the doll itself, sure. maybe it's creepy if you believe. but if not, it's basically just an american girl doll behind some plexiglass for some reason. also, as i've stated before, """creepy""" dolls don't actually scare me. idk why, but any doll they have ever shown ever has never been scary to me.
the cursed bed: -25/5 that wasn't scary it was just gross. the scariest part was them laying on a cum soaked bed. also colby needs to get a human girlfriend and stop trying to fuck ghosts lol
added bonus - clown maze: hated it. why the fuck is that in a place with haunted objects lol are the clowns haunted too or are they just discounted spirit halloween decorations?? and why was this section so fucking loud for no reason??? -8/5
dybbuk box: idk how i feel about this area. i think it definitely felt creepy, maybe even a bit scary too. but i don't know. snc giving their hair to the box is probably the dumbest thing. i just know some creepy ass fan is gonna go their now and steal it. i just… feel it in my bones. and then the weird stuff that was happening with the camera with amanda and stas, it definitely was strange to say the least. i'll rate this area like a 3/5.
devil's rocking chair: this area was actually the scariest. weirdly enough, i felt nothing for this chair. like most places they go to, i get a vibe from them, or certain items that they talk about, but this…. nothing. i weirdly kinda think whatever could have been attached to it isn't there. but bc so many ppl believe it to be there, negative energy attaches to it. and i think that's what snc felt. or maybe i'm crazy. their reactions to it, especially sam's, was surprising. it's not too often you actually get to see snc scared, like legitimately scared. sam almost ran out of the room and chair, colby needed stas' cross. the estes method with sam, which is usually something i don't like (bc i like it better with colby) was actually decently scary. all of that gave me a lot of anxiety. and for that, imma rate this like a 4.9/5.
the basement: not really scary all that much. i think the problem was that snc and crew were on edge after the rocking chair that they were just ready to dip at the quickest sign of paranormal. and i think stas slowly feeling worse and worse sent them over enough that once they started communicating with something, they were out. i'm happy that snc didn't make stas stay and helped her get out as quickly as possible. i'm also happy they never make anyone do anything they don't want to. this section i'm gonna rate a 2.5/5.
overall, i think this video was a solid 4/5. i know, a good video out the gate is surprising to me lol
while technically they didn't get all that much evidence, and some of the places they went to in the museum weren't even all that scary or haunted, i think this video solidifies a change for snc. while i get not liking zak bagans or thinking he's kinda a dick, at the end of the day, him acknowledging snc both in the video and outside of it is a game changer for them, especially if they want to go mainstream (which i believe they do). they fact that they got to do things that other investigators, let alone youtubers, have never been able to do is crazy. i feel like this was a step in the right direction for them if they plan to further their career in the paranormal world. this video also made me excited for what's to come this season.
