Yet another writing ask
Which of your fics would you keep the basic plot of but rewrite completely?
Anything that you'd like to write but feel like you're unable to?
How would you describe your writing style?
Do you have any OCs? Do you have a story for them?
What's a tag you never want to use for your works even when it applies?
What's your ratio for rating your works?
Your favourite ao3 tag.
How slow is a slow burn?
Thoughts on cliffhangers.
Top three favourite fic tropes.
Three tropes that are fine but overrated.
If you write in more than one language, what's the difference?
Rate your worldbuilding skills from 1 to 10.
Write and share the first sentence of a new fic. Just that.
What's your favourite plotless fic you have written?
Are one-shots really underrated?
Past or present tense? Why?
First, second, or third person?
Share a snippet from a wip without giving any context for it.
Do you work on a single project or many at the same time? How does that work for you?
Can you accurately predict how long your fics are going to be? If you can, what's your secret?
What is it about watching the same two idiots falling in love over and over again?
Dialogue or description? Why is the other one so hard?
Thoughts on flashbacks/flashforwards.
Is writing the whole thing beforehand better or worse than writing it as you go?
What would you describe as OOC?
Do you agree that one shouldn't start a story with a piece of dialogue?
Any writing advice that works for you and you feel like sharing?
What's the hardest thing about writing?
Describe a fic that almost happened, but then it didn't.
What was the most difficult fic for you to write (but in the end you made it)?
Do you have a word/expression that you always use in your writing?
Give your writing a compliment.
Do you write to improve? Or is that not a concern for you?
Thoughts on writing challenges/contests.
How do you come up with fic titles? What's the one you're most proud of?
Do you research before writing or while you write? Is it fun or boring for you?
"This never happened" fix-it fics or "this happened but" fix-it fics?
Wildest AU scenario you have written?
Write a 9-word fic.

Chapter 1: The Idiot Who Put Aluminum Foil in the Microwave
----------------------------------------------------
Tian stood staring at the microwave in his apartment, a burrito wrapped in foil in one hand and his phone held to his ear in the other. “Hey, is it safe to microwave aluminum foil?”
“I don’t know, find out I guess,” came Tul’s voice from the phone.
Tian gave the burrito a considering glance then shrugged, putting it in the microwave.
“Alright, I got to go, see you later.”
“See you,” Tian replied, hanging up the phone. He set the microwave timer for 2 minutes, then walked away. Before he could even leave the kitchen he heard a weird noise behind him. He turned to see sparks coming from the microwave.
“Shit!”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tian stood outside, hugging himself and shivering a bit from the cold, grass tickling his feet through his sandals. The other residents from the apartment stood nearby, scattered throughout the yard, some of them grumbling as red lights flashed from the street. They had all been standing there for over 20 minutes and were just waiting for the all clear to go back inside.
Finally, three men in full firefighting gear came out the front door and approached Khama, the building’s owner, as they slowly stripped out of their outerwear. The man who seemed to be in charge had a hushed conversation with Khama before turning to address the crowd.
“Everything’s fine now. The fire has been put out and there was minimal damage, only to the apartment the fire started in.”
Everyone seemed to breathe a sigh of relief at the announcement.
“It’s safe to go back now so everyone is welcome to go inside. Everyone except the idiot who put aluminum foil in a microwave.”
Tian cringed at that last bit, said in a not very nice tone of voice, because yeah, he was that idiot. And the fireman’s expression made it pretty clear exactly what he thought about the idiot who put aluminum foil in a microwave.
He swallowed once before awkwardly walking toward where he and Khama were standing.
“Um, excuse me, I’m very sorry--”
“You know you can’t put metal in a microwave, right?” the mean firefighter interrupted. Tian couldn’t tell if that was a rhetorical question or not.
“Yes, but, well, it was--”
“Aluminum foil is metal and can’t be put in a microwave. It can’t withstand the electrical current generated and heats up too fast which causes a fire,” the man lectured.
Tian couldn’t do much more other than stand there and take it, even if he wanted to talk back. He was an engineering student for a whole year, he didn’t need to be taught how a microwave worked. The fact that he had put aluminum foil in there was just because, well...he forgot, okay? It wasn’t his fault he’d never had to worry about microwaving food wrapped in aluminum foil before.
The man was also pretty intimidating. He was pretty big--tall and solidly built, and that combined with his tone of voice and the expression on his face prevented Tian from saying something stupid, especially since, yeah, he was technically in the wrong here.
“You’re lucky the fire didn’t get any bigger than it did or there could’ve been some real damage,” he continued, making Tian feel like he was five years old again, getting scolded by the maid. Khama looked like he wanted to interrupt but couldn’t quite get a word in. “Didn’t your parents ever teach you this stuff?”
That finally got a stronger reaction out of Tian who abruptly looked up and met the man’s gaze, ready to argue back, when another person came up and interrupted. “Oi, Phupha, cut the kid a break. I’m sure he already feels bad enough, no need to make it worse.”
This new man was one of the EMTs who had come with the firetruck. The firefighter--Phupha--glared at him, which seemed to have little effect, but nevertheless seemed to calm down a bit. He turned back to Tian, more grumpy than angry now, and said, “Look, just no more metal in the microwave, okay? Next time the fire could get a lot worse.”
And with that he said goodbye to Khama and walked back toward the truck. The EMT huffed a laugh before addressing Tian. “Sorry about the chief. He seems mean but really he’s just concerned for everyone’s safety. A lot of fires are started by people being idiots,” he explained.
“Ah, no, it’s fine,” Tian said, “I definitely deserved some of that.”
The man gave Tian an appraising look before patting him on the shoulder. “Don’t beat yourself up too much over it and just be careful next time,” he said. He heard some calls from one of the men on the truck. “Well, I gotta get going.” He nodded in goodbye to both of them.
“Thank you, Dr. Nam,” Khama said as he left.
Once he was gone, Tian turned to Khama. “Khama, I’m so sorry about all of this. Whatever the damage is I promise I’ll pay for it--”
Khama waved a hand in the air to cut him off. “It’s okay, Tian. We all make mistakes when living on our own for the first time. I’ll go up with you now to see the extent of the damage, but Chief Phupha said that it seemed like only the cabinets and the wall around the microwaved were damaged.”
Tian’s shoulders relaxed a bit, that didn’t sound too bad. “Thank you. You can go ahead on up, I should call Tul first and tell him what happened.”
Khama smiled and nodded before heading inside.
Tian pulled out his phone and called Tul. “Hey, so apparently, it is not safe to put aluminum foil in a microwave.”

AO3 “P’Kit,” Mark whined, “P’Kiiiit.”
“Mark, I’m trying to do my homework.”
Mark and Kit were currently sitting on Kit’s bed, Kit’s laptop on his lap with his books to one side, and Mark was latched on to one of Kit’s arms.
“But you’ve been doing homework for two hours now, and you’ve been really busy for the past two days,” Mark pouted. “You should take a break. And I want attention.”
Kit sighed as he looked over at his boyfriend who currently had his cheek smushed against his shoulder, looking up at him with puppy dog eyes. “I’m already on the bed with you rather than my desk where I prefer to do homework, don’t be greedy,” he said as he lightly flicked Mark’s forehead.
Mark pouted more at the contact. “P’Kit, na, P’Kit, just a few minutes.”
“The less you bother me the faster I can finish,” Kit pointed out.
“Hmph.” Mark didn’t seem happy with this verdict but he didn’t say anything more, just squeezed Kit’s arm a little tighter and snuggled grumpily into his shoulder.
Kit turned back to his computer, trying to suppress a small smile at his childish boyfriend. He grabbed his phone with his free hand and pulled up his conversation with Wayu.
To: Wayu
Hey, tell your best friend to stop being so clingy when I’m trying to study
A reply came a few moments later.
From: Wayu
you knew exactly what you signed up for
To: Wayu
My arm is going numb from where he’s holding it too tight
From: Wayu
well you know he wont give in first
“Hey, P’Kit!” Mark exclaimed, sitting up from his position leaning against Kit. “Texting is more important than your homework but not me?”
Kit rolled his eyes fondly then shut his laptop. “Fine. I’ll take a short break,” he said. “A short one,” he emphasized, seeing the look on Mark’s face.
Mark only nodded eagerly, “Of course, P’Kit.”
He waited for Kit to put his books and laptop aside then flung his arms around him, pulling Kit down onto the bed and snuggling up close. Kit didn’t try to hide his smile this time.
--------------------------------
Kit walked into the engineering canteen, spotting Mark and Wayu sitting at their usual table. Mark looked excited about something and Wayu looked decidedly less so.
Wayu looked up at his approach and as he sat down Wayu spoke, “Tell your boyfriend to stop interfering in my love life.”
“What is he doing this time?” Kit asked without missing a beat, setting his food down.
“P’Kit, why do you always assume I’m in the wrong and it’s not Wayu overreacting? It’s normal for friends to get involved in each other’s love lives.” He directed this last bit to Wayu, who reacted by sticking his tongue out.
Wayu turned back to Kit. “P’Kit, tell him to leave me alone, I can handle myself and I don’t need his shitty advice.”
“Mark, leave Wayu alone,” Kit said, ignoring Mark’s outraged gasp.
“You’re both ganging up on me! This isn’t fair.”
Kit and Wayu only smiled at each other as Mark pouted.
----------------------------------
Kit yawned as he sat in his childhood bedroom, attempting to study while spending the weekend at home, which was a few hours away from the university. His phone chimed with a text.
From: Wayu
hurry up and come back so your boyfriend will stop moping
To: Wayu
I’ve barely been gone a day
From: Wayu
try telling him that
pretty sure he’s been counting the exact amount of time you’ve been gone
To: Wayu
He does know I’m not coming back till monday right?
From: Wayu
oh trust me, he knows
he knows, i know, pretty sure the whole engineering faculty knows, he wouldn’t shut up at lunch today
he keeps loudly sighing like once a minute and staring off into space, pls do something
Kit smiled down at his phone. Ah, his boyfriend truly was a child.
To: Mark
Stop bothering Wayu, if you behave until monday I’ll have a reward for you
From: Mark
<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3
From: Wayo
????
wait nevermind i dont want to know
-------------------------------
Wayu met Kit in the cafe and sat down across from him with his coffee.
“What should I get Mark for his birthday?” they both asked at the same time and then stared at each other in disbelief.
“You’re his best friend, shouldn’t you know?”
“You’re his boyfriend, shouldn’t you know?”
“I’ve only known him for a few months, what’s your excuse?”
“Well, I-” Wayu faltered before slumping down. “Mark is hard to buy for.” He sipped through his straw petulantly. “He usually doesn’t want a whole and what he does want he usually just buys for himself.”
“He likes the cheesy heartfelt stuff more than material things, but I suck at that stuff.” Kit slumped in his seat, then narrowed his eyes. “But that seems like the kinda thing that’s right up your alley, why are you having trouble with it?”
“I have the pressure of 15 years worth of friendship, it’s not easy,” he defended. “Plus,” he continued in a lower tone, slightly embarrassed, “if you’re referring to my relationships, it’s usually them buying sentimental stuff for me.”
Kit snorted at that.
“Hey,” Wayu snapped, “he thinks the sun shines out of your ass, you could give him a rock you picked up off the side of the road and he would treasure it forever, why are you so worried? Or better yet, just buy a box of condoms and say you're his present.”
Kit almost choked on his coffee. “I’m not doing that,” he said, “and wipe that smirk off your face.” He looked down at his coffee. “Besides, I don’t want to give just anything. I feel like he’s always making an effort for me and making the grand gestures. And I find it hard to do that in return, especially without a specific occasion, but his birthday is the perfect chance for me to do something special.”
They both stared down at their coffee in thought for a minute, then Wayu pulled a notebook and pen out of his bag.
“What are you doing?” Kit asked.
“We’re brainstorming. I’ll help you think of something and you help me think of something,” Wayu said with a smile.
Kit returned the smile. “Deal.”
Tumblr media
I think it’s cute that wayu refers to mark as kit’s boyfriend in this scene because he’s annoyed so headcanon that whenever wayu complains about mark to kit he calls him ‘your boyfriend’ and whenever kit complains to wayu he calls him ‘your best friend’

Ocean Waves
Rather than just a text, Ae and Pete actually reunite at the beach.
Read on AO3
----------------------------------------------
“We promised we’d come here together. We still haven’t fulfilled that promise yet,” Ae said as he stared out over the ocean.
He looked down as he heard a chime from his phone. His breath caught and he couldn’t stop the smile from stretching across his face as soon as he realized who it was from.
I’m back, Ae
Ae clutched his phone tighter, unable to look away from those few simple words. His phone chimed again as another text came through.
Turn around
The smile fell from his face and he couldn’t move. His heart was hammering in chest and he was frozen. There was no way. He couldn’t--he couldn’t be here, here, with Ae.
Ae was terrified to turn around, afraid that no one would be there if he did. As long as he didn’t turn around, he couldn’t be disappointed.
Another chime from his phone.
Ae.
He could almost hear the pleading tone in the word.
Ae took in a shaky breath and slowly turned around.
There. He was there. Pete was standing right there, barely ten feet away.
Everything went quiet around him. He couldn’t hear the wind or the sound of the waves as Pete looked at him, eyes filled with hope and fear and love, all emotions which Ae was sure were mirrored in his own eyes.
They both stood, staring, neither able to make the first move. Then, Pete smiled. And it was like a dam broke. Ae felt his feet start moving before he could even think, then he was wrapping Pete in his arms, holding him close, afraid to ever let go again.
It was too much and not enough. Having Pete here, feeling the warmth from his body, inhaling his scent from where Ae had his face buried in his neck. Dimly, he registered the feeling of Pete’s arms around his back, hands clutching his shirt tightly. He felt something wet against his neck and realized Pete was crying. He leaned back, just far enough to see Pete’s face and the few tears on his cheeks.
Ae smiled. “Don’t cry, ai khun chai.”
Pete laughed and sniffled a bit. “You’re crying too,” he said, and reached up to wipe some tears from Ae’s face.
Ae cupped Pete’s face in his hands as they both laughed. “I didn’t even notice.” He pulled Pete’s head forward until their foreheads were touching.
“I’m sorry, Ae. I’m sorry I left you. I--” Pete began in a shaky voice.
Ae cut him off with a shake of his head and a smile. “It’s okay, you’re here now,” he said gently, pulling him even closer. He looked up into Pete’s eyes. “Just promise you won’t leave me again. Promise me you’ll stay,” he asked, desperation slipping into his words.
“I promise,” Pete whispered.
Ae pushed himself forward until his lips were pressed against Pete’s. The kiss only lasted a few seconds before Ae pulled away and buried his face back into Pete’s neck. “I missed you.”
“I missed you too.”
