Aight so. Rook Hunt and Trey Clover are two characters from a phone game I've been into recently, Twisted Wonderland. Yes. The. The Disney one. Written and Drawn by Yana Toboso (the artist/writer behind Black Butler. No I'm not kidding.) HEAR ME OUT kjhsdjkgdf
It's one of those gacha/visual novel-like games that gets marketed as like a dating sim, but has some of the most. Un-romantic settings/characters I've EVER seen. As an aro/ace, I applaud this lmao. Also amazing character and story writing like what the heck.

So every character is like. They aren't the Disney characters themselves but more like BASED on them? Sometimes several. I'm making a powerpoint on this to connect all the dots, here's Trey's lmao
Heartslabyul house! Based on: Mad Hatter, 3 of Clubs, King of Hearts, etc. Generally chill. You think he's the normal one, then he turns around and gives you an hour lecture on how to brush your teeth properly. Ok mom.
He also reminds me along of Ignis from Final Fantasy 15. He's. That type. But also not?? Still instant attachment that way LOL
Thing is he's VERY devoted to his childhood friend/Dorm leader, Riddle. But he will never admit this, not even to himself. (due to Trauma and also being totally completely normal. Uh-huh.)
SO IN WE BRING....ROOK HUNT (who is already on that slide HAHA)
Different house (it's a school setting, like Hogwarts but more Themed Houses based around. Different Disney villains) and SO. How do you explain Rook. Well he's based off the Huntsman from Snow White, mainly.
Gives these vibes. Incoming. Smiley. Will give affection. Somewhat of a threat.
Theater kid set loose. French. Loves beauty in all its forms. Drama, sparkles, has SO much love (platonic, I must preface, every time I use that, I mean in an unromantic manner) to give and is VERY vocal about it. Compliments you constantly and finds uplifting things to say even when you did horribly on something. You fell on your face? He will tell you you fell with magnificence or something idk he's just LIKE THIS ALL THE TIME, he means EVERY WORD TOO-
This dude will not lie. His eyes are too good, he is too perceptive. Oh also he hunts some students for sport, there's that little detail (HE NEVER HURTS ANYONE as far as I know he just. Watches. Love this lil weirdo. Some of his lines are "let's play tag!" and I'm like oh NO LMAO) so like I laugh at him but he's also MILDLY TERRIFYING AND CAPABLE LIKE DUDE-
Anyway, TREY you meet early since he's in the first house you deal with, Heartslabyul. But my first exposure to ROOK was through Trey's Lab Card story, which is honestly a fun time on its own. They are science club buddies!!
So right off the bat you have a very :D :D vs calm =w=;;; dynamic, which I love. But then we have....Trey, who denies how much he cares for people, for Riddle. Who shows care through his actions, baking, Due to Reasons, words of affirmation might murder him on the spot. And then we have Rook, who is a font of flowery warm appreciative words who loves and loves loudly, watching this like 👀 I see you. (incoming shots of Halloween Event part 2)
The guy calls him Chevalier des Roses to his face. Constantly. Rook has little nicknames for alot of people (most dorm leaders he calls "King of Roses" (Riddle), "King of Lions" (Leona) etc.) but he calls Trey a Knight. Of Roses. He's calling Trey Riddle's Knight. And it's very cute.
(Halloween event tossed them together and it was WONDERFUL)
But yeah Trey has his own reasons for shying away from the title. He's a baker's boy, he has no sword or armor or anything, also it's embarrassing as heck-
But Rook still sees how he treats people. He calls a knight for what it is. Rook himself ADORES his dorm Leader, Vil, and sees Trey trying to hide this same devotion and just goes "you are like me!!!" Trey: oh please no I could never-
Also they're SUCH. PARENTS.
It's just. A really good dynamic I'd LOVE to see more of, y'know? An understanding, somehow being understood by someone more than you know yourself. Rook is also weird as HECK sometimes (what do you mean you can see how Leona is yawning ALL THE WAY ACCROSS THE FEILD) and Trey nearby is. His friend. He's just like "I'm so sorry he's just like this" and it's VERY funny akjshdjksdhfs he may have to hold Rook back from blowing up the labs again, dude gets carried away.

Twisted Wonderland has some lovely character dynamics. Also no one is "normal", but Rook is just another level of w h a t.
It feels like alot of interactions were just "hm spin a wheel, see who we get, slap them together" and it WORKS. SOMEHOW. Platonic Rook Trey is just one I've become extremely fond of and it's a rarer one....

Does anyone else find society is still very gunhoe and Pearl clutching about divorce? Like it’s always the assumption that there is a good and bad guy. Sometimes people don’t work out, welcome to facts of life, it’s a very common thing. Doesn’t mean either side is bad or an arsehole, there are many things that can lead a couple to separation/divorce that doesn’t equate to cheating or arsehole behaviour. It was a weird thing I saw on Twitter people hating on Taika Waititi for separating and getting a divorce from Chelsea Winetanley back in 2018. Like they didn’t announce it till two years later cause it was private, as most separations are. They co-parent their kids and got remarried, like people do. We don’t have the right to make assumptions on the why, or to place blame because of some RUMOUR (in bold for a fucking reason). Like he gushed about her amazing work on the Māori translation of Lion King, and there isn’t any open animosity between them. People saying he had an affair (which no one has given any real evidence for) and abandoned his kids is just wrong. Chelsea recently married a women, maybe she’s bi/pan or a lesbian, who cares. Their kids seem fine and well developed. Idk why I made this, I think it’s the stereotype I’ve been learning of Australian/Kiwi dads being deadbeats which is offensive for so many reasons (I’m Aussie so this is extra personal) and the fact that he’s Māori makes it feel racially motivated. The guy has spoken and made amazing films about his own issues with his father and generation trauma, and then random people accuse him of abandoning his children? Some people really need to touch the grass and realise that we don’t know anything about celeb relationships, and to accuse based on rumours is disrespectful to all parties. I’ve seen a trend of people trying to find a moral reason to hate a celeb just because they think they need to defend not liking their work. You can like or dislike who and whatever, you don’t need to make guesses and spread rumours to justify it on a moral standpoint.

#jewish argentinian but i grew up reading all kinds of stories#the fox is usually a man...he is usually devious and he always wins...i wanted to be like him when i was little#the turtle is as sly as the fox but she doesnt let it show. she can turn every situation to her advantage. sometimes shes a man but#mostly a very small enduring old woman - shoutout to la tortuga manuelita#the MONKEY now i dont remember that many monkey stories if im honest....but i see them as mostly a rowdy crowd of very silly boys#i dont think theyre usually individuals#they are a pack of chaos#but honestly...sometimes theyre clever too#the hare if i must be honest is mostly the turtles rival in my mind...shes self centered but not as clever as she thinks she is#but she can be wise sometimes#the wolf is interesting because i now know hes mostly the dog version of the fox in a lot of stories. but *i* grew up on ivan tsarevich so#hes a friend to me!! a very wise friend who will support you no matter how many times you fuck up#the dog is...a grandpa. if hes the main character hes most likely an old chap who is extremely loyal to a human family that possibly#mistreats him. but he can also be a helper like in prunella!! he just needs to be loved and appreciated for what he is#and as an addition: the distinction between wolves and dogs in stories usually lies in their relationship to humans#though of course this doesnt stop the beloved friend of prince ivan from being a wolf...but he is special#the lion stories i knew were mostly aesop and aesop fables are. very contradicting heehee...sometimes he is doomed by his pride#and sometimes he is rightful king so. idk lions are doing their own thing#THE MOUSE. now the mouse to me is similar to the clever girl: very astute#but unassuming and trusting#and the narratological difference between a mouse and rats in my head is their status as individual protagonist or collective antagonist#the mouse can be a more childish version of the turtle maybe#finally the donkey...hes enduring as the turtle and usually loyal and brave too#though not very smart#a beloved childhood book of mine was about a good donkey that found a family with many children who loved him and i liked it a lot#mostly i feel like donkeys are objects rather than subjects...no agency and probably no dialogue#like when the father and the son face public ridicule for all the ways they handle their donkey#birds obviously vary wildly between species...the crow and the raven are self obsessed goth kids while the peacock is a self obsessed prep#but singing birds can be good and very brave and are most similar to boys in love who will most likely suffer....and then raptors can be#the lions of the sky

Joining the Crimson Lion Kings had been a blessing for you, offering a great, fulfilling career as a magic knight. However, there was one problem: your squad mates. The other knights weren't unfriendly to you (although sometimes you didn't feel like you fit in with them yet)... they were just the most rowdy bunch you had ever met in your life. This was most obvious tonight, as dinnertime had erupted into an impromptu party.
Now, you sat by yourself, awkwardly, an untouched drink in your hand and your eyes blinking frequently as if that would help lower the sounds of drunken celebration all around.
"Not much of a party person, huh?"
You looked up to see a tall man slide into the seat next to you. Your eyes widened when you saw it was none other than Fuegoleon, your very own vice captain. You blinked once, not sure what to say to him.
Fuegoleon chuckled. "Don't worry... it might not seem like it, but neither am I."
That shocked you a little. Fuegoleon was one of those people who got overly passionate about things, and yelled many of the words he said. But funnily enough, you never found it annoying. More... endearing.
"I see... well... why don't we go somewhere quiet, then?"
You managed a smile, and, although surprised, Fuegoleon returned it. "A nice walk through town sounds good right about now. Lead the way!"
The two of you walked off into the night, leaving the others, loud and happy, behind.

explanations behind my song choice for my 3lsmp playlist under the read more! keep in mind, some of these songs don't really have a reason beyond just... vibes. and that some ideas have changed over time. anyway!

anti-hero — originally added as an etho song, and still applies. with him being prepared to fight & kill for ren + the rest of the red army. also, he tends to be a bit unpredictable and has a very different moral standing from someone like, say, martyn.
kill the sun — fits with the series as a whole, with shifting alliances and friendships, and with people killing and being killed by one another.
special — this ones for all the mfs who didn't pick a side until really late, or were bouncing between factions for a while 💪. especially for tango, as an example, making friends with someone who he can also consider his enemy, and being completely unsure where he stands in any group, though he wants to have their faith.
villain — this song is just really good for making a mental amv for lmao. it's good for demonstrating differing alliances n sides, n of course that applies here.
oh, death — not a lot of specific thoughts for this, just. yknow, death, vibes, dying for someone, watching your friend die, etc.
6up 5oh cop-out — first of all, I'm just a slut for will wood sometimes. second, a lot of the lyrics on their own could 100% be applied to events in the series (I mean I did use some from it for my etho n tango drawing for funsies) so. it's a strange song but the vibes fit well, in my opinion :]
kill of the night — a bit self explanatory, I think. in a series about trying to outlive, and to eventually kill your friends? no doubt you're going to end up hunting certain people down, hmmm? revenge, n all that. works well for multiple characters, really.

kill the lights — once again, killing, death, murder, yknow. good vibes. also people lying and betraying one another, and watching as their friends and enemies die in front of them, people being changed by the events that transpire.. also technically they ARE actors sooo. kill the actor, yknow
mad IQs — mostly this song just slaps (thank you eexer 🙏) but also the lyrics fit well with the events! death, murder, killing your friends, burning. there is a lot of fire.
go get your gun — works very well for the whole war goin on. one side vs another, fighting and losing allies, fighting to win for their fallen allies, cheating fate if they DO win. also the line "when this is over, we'll raise a glass straight up to the sun" could be seen as like. everyone coming together to be friends once it's all over bc they are!
c'est la vie — it fits well. bad things happen, you lose people, you hurt, karma kicks your ass, but that's just life, and that's the game. c'est la vie.
i'm gonna win — fits for how they're all fighting to be the last one standing. and also with having to work through literally dying and to not give up, if you want to win.
mr capgras... — once again, I just like will wood. also fits well with people fighting each other, mostly with the chorus. "you'll never take me alive" / "you better pray that I die" likjkeeeee 👀 you could make art fitting those lyrics tbh
curses — red & green duos (at least. when they were intact :/) sticking together, taking care of one another when everything is going to hell, people are dying, and it's getting intense. they trust each other, at least.
under the pressure — don't really have something specific, it just fits well, with the lyrics. honestly this one fits well as a skizz song, now that I'm thinking about it. he went from trying to be friends with a lotta people to taking two out for good and went out in a blaze of glory. yea. that's what I got lol
everybody wants to rule the world — I dont think I really need an explanation for this one. it just fits well with everyone trying to win the whole game, and with everything slowly ramping up in intensity
rebels — for scar and grian being crime bros for the first while :] everything IS burning, good for them!
outrunning karma — impulse once again. playing everyone, playing to everyones good sides as much as he could, until the act didnt matter anymore. but karma might really kick him in the ass, if he ends up as one of the last survivors, and others turn on him for betraying everyone earlier on.
you're nobody til somebody wants you dead — shrug emoji. just fits well mostly. friends fighting eachother, betrayal, yadda yadda.

okay i'm already procrastinating and i don't plan on sleeping any time soon so here we go.
☆ ✩ my personal ranking for every season 1 Sanders Sides episode. ✩ ☆
i think it's going to be pretty similar to @dukeofonions' but let's see if i find something new to contribute haha. i see you didn't include that one about Patton in the Big Game or whatever, so i'm not including it either xd. also i think i'm going to count Accepting Anxiety as one episode only.
edit: i finished and now i dare you to drink a shot of water every time i say the word spanish or a version of the word comfort and become very well hydrated.
#16 I'm in a Disney Show
(i agree with dukeofonions here) i always forget this episode exists. it was ok in terms of being happy for real life Thomas but as a Sanders Sides episode it didn't do anything. the sides were just giving their opinions but it wasn't very funny or interesting. also i'm bitter because it made me look up the episode he was in and i didn't like it at all. i don't know if i'm too old for those Disney shows now but Thomas was literally the only good part of it, everything else was really dull and boring imo. a waste of time.
however, Logan supporting clickbait is one of the funniest things ever, and i'll never forget it.
#15 Becoming A Cartoon
i didn't hate this episode but it was just .. meh.. you know? several factors contribute to this. one, i couldn't feel much nostalgia for Butch Hartman's shows because i watched them in Spanish, and everything feels really weird when they speak English, i don't like how my old cartoons sound in English. two, it was disappointing to me because we were all desperately waiting for Plot™ and instead they give us this short episode about nothing (oh how the tables have turned now it's the other way around haha). and three, i didn't like the style of the animation :/ their faces and expressions freaked me out, Roman's douchey face still haunts me.
#14 Way Too Adult
here i'm biased because i don't like Patton much, and i didn't back when i watched the series the first time either, so this video was a little disappointingwithout the rest. also it wasn't relatable to me because i am still too young and dependent on my parents haha. but Patton is funny and it's funny to laugh at Thomas' struggling.
#13 The Dark Side of Disney
i've never been a fan of Disney movies. i actually never watched Mulan or the Lion King or Aladdin as a kid, so meh. i liked the ending, though, it was cool to see Virgil have fun and be right for once. it does make me a bit uncomfortable because the way Thomas tries too hard with Virgil's mouth movements and his low voice reminds me of a guy that had made me v uncomfortable not long before watching that video. so an icky feel overall.
#12 A New Year of Lying to Myself
this video was actually kind of fogettable to me. i had a hard time connecting the voices in the song to the characters and idk. i don't love it nor hate it, just .. neutral.
#11 My True Identity
pretty much the same opinion as dukeofonions, again. it's a good introduction and it's good that it was the beginning of it all but on its own it's not very special. i think it's awesome on Thomas to have come up with such a clever idea, like choosing the dad, the teacher and the prince and putting them together and match them with thoughts?? that fit so perfectly?? it really is just very impressive when you think about it, that it was just a random idea he had for a short 5 minute video.
#10 Taking on Anxiety
i liked this video a lot because when i watched it i had recently been a lot on tumblr, and found out through relatable posts that i had anxiety. so watching this video was really fun and it made me happy to feel so seen, specially the intro when Thomas just talks about what it's like to have Anxiety and Virgil is so smug about it.

okay now that those are out of the way things are going to get hard... all the following i love with all my heart so i'm going to rank them based on the smallest things.
#9 Growing Up
once more, Patton isn't my favorite. so that's why i'm putting this here, plus the echo at the end askjhsahg, but i love love this video. i remember we were waiting and oh so ready for the angst of nobody taking Patton seriously. and we received!! i love that though Roman and Logan are antagonists here, they're both so happy about Thomas wanting to have a healthy life. and i just adore the way Logan admits his mistake at the end and asks Patton directly. my heart... also aw.. the nostalgia. i remember none of us knew how to spell Patton's name and were writing it in very funny ways until Thomas and Joan told us lol.
#8 The Mind vs The Heart
when i watched this video the first times i didn't like it much, because i only had eyes for Virgil, but later i came back to it and loved it. so taking that into account i'm putting it here. logicality was the first ship i ever shipped in the show because i saw a gifset on tumblr of Patton screaming "what do you know about love?!" and Logan "apparently more than YOU" and the caption said "MARRIED", and i thought hey yeah... anyway. i love them. they're both my dads since that day.
this video is so so so relatable and i love it. Logan and Patton are so much fun arguing and i love how they compromise at the end and work together. im reconsidering.. i might move it higher? no, fine i'll leave it here.
#7 Making Some Changes
this video was absolutely hilarious. i personally couldn't see it as the Sides still once they were acted by Thomas' friends, i enjoyed it more as that bunch being silly and trying to be the sides but failing in so many ways, while sometimes nailing stuff suddenly. i really don't take this one too seriously as an episode. except Joan!Logan and Valerie!Logan, my beloved... i love how Joan acted as Logan and their voice and that they kept their ace ring on.. there's a reason i had them as my icon for so long. and Valerie looks a bit (a lot) like me with the glasses and dressed in dark colors, plus she spoke Spanish and there's .. no words to describe the joy i felt when seeing/hearing that. wait i'm getting emotional...
#6 My Personality Q&A
when i watched this Virgil was my favorite side and i didn't care much about the rest lol. when i heard his answers i related to him SO much it was scary, and also his voice is so soft and it was all very comforting. it was also when i first starting looking at Logan with more attention, because when he brought up Big Hero 6 and Fall Out Boy and said he didn't sing and would recite it like a poem? it only took a couple seconds but my brain said "me" and never went back.
now this video is a little underwhelming to watch for me, most of the appeal for me was in finding out the answers, and also watching it when we didn't know a lot about the sides. now we know more and want to know more so it's not as fun to me as it was first.
i wish so bad they'd do another one, although i know it would be more difficult with a much bigger audience, i think they can manage and i just need it. the chaos.. the energy.. they all being so savage with each other, learning little random facts about them you didn't expect.. i need it.

#5 Alone on Valentines Day
i love Valerie, and the idea of this video was perfect and so perfectly excecuted. every side just giving their crazy opinions on how to woo a random stranger, i laughed SO much. first with Logan speaking simlish out of nowhere? at that point i didn't know practically anything about the sims except that it was some video game and the whiplash of Logan going AYO and the rest killed me. then when Roman whipped out that dialogue in Spanish??? my life was completed. i've never felt more happy than i did in that moment gosh. just the hilarity of Roman's drama, the shock of them speaking Spanish suddenly like that, the absolute JOY of seeing a creator i like speak (may i say) perfect Spanish, the other characters' faces after that.. never been happier.
also the conclusion was so cute. Virgil solving the whole problem without wanting to. i loved it.
#4 Am I Original
i think this video speaks for itself. it was fun to watch them all do the ideas Roman had, plus Logan and Virgil nodding at each other, (i love them so much), plus the angst at the end of Roman's perfectionism, plus Roman's just perfect name. this video has it all.
i think Thomas posted it kind of late at night and i watched it at 7am in the classroom as i waited for my classmates to arrive and the class to start. (i usually was like 40 minutes early to school due to mom’s work). i had to contain my laughter and it wasn’t easy.
#3 Losing My Motivation
i started loving this video after a while, when Logan passed Virgil in the position for my favorite side. but once he did this episode was beautiful. it's so funny and i love Logan and Patton's dynamic so much. and the video also so damn relatable in general. i felt so seen with it because they named all the problems i have when procrastinating, down to Patton's vague explanation of his feelings, it's exactly how i feel every time i want to do stuff. and the plot twist! i can hear the dramatic sound effect and see how they all turn to Logan clearly in my head, and it always makes me smile. plus there's so much Logan angst that can be dug up and overanalized. i love to watch it over and over.
#2 Accepting Anxiety
this video was perfect. everything we wanted. we knew it was coming and it delivered perfectly, better than any fanfic done in the waiting time. the week between the parts was agonizing but in a fun way somehow. i remember precisely when i was watching part 2 in my living room. i screamed. and i cried, a lot. i was feeling terrible at that time in my life and Thomas was such a comforting presence and i can't begin to describe how this episode made me feel.
and later it is always fun to rewatch with all their different reactions to being in Virgil's room, the energy of that was on point. Thomas is such a great actor and the characters where just amazingly performed. plus it gave so much to talk adn think about, the idea of the rooms, lots lots of insight into the characters, foreshadowing, so much. it's just perfect i have nothing else to say.

i think Accepting Anxiety is the best episode of the season objectively but my favorite is My Negative Thinking. because i love Virgil and Logan so much and seeing them argue together was and is great. the comfort.. i can't repeat that word enough throughout this post. it's such a soft video while not being overwhelming with Patton and Roman's outbursts. just quiet (mostly) and clear and with perfectly timed humour.
Logan my beloved.. learning spanish... helping me with my own anxiety.. and their debate was so good. and the fact that they were friends i- i can't. Virgil didn't think Logan liked him and Logan told him explicitly that he did and the casual softness of it i cant even. Logan is happy that he tried.. it's just marvelous. Virgil and Logan as best friends will always be my favorite pair, and their dynamic will always be what i strive for in any relationship i might form, with both sides silently comforting each other within their own limits and realistic perspectives. so nice.

Yet another fan tweaks up TLK 2 and TLG: Todd Howard Expansion Pack
PART DEUX part 2 let's do this boys
Alright, so picking up where we left off, Kopa has been living in the Oasis for a bit while he heals mentally from Zira almost killing him. Zira and her blood children Nuka (Son of Scar and Zira) Vitani (Son of Zira and Mpendwa), and Kovu (Son of Jibu and an unknown male) were banished to the outlands with a third of the lionesses from Simba's pride who insisted on following Zira. Got it? Good. Let's keep moving:
Time has passed, and Simba and Nala are in NO rush to reinstate Kopa as the future king. He still has no wish to become the crown prince once again, as the thought is still...perilous to him. He's not sure about it, and....quite frankly, it makes him uncomfortable to think about. Simba and Nala understand, and do not force anything on him. Yes, the lack of an heir IS concerning, but...they know an answer will come with time. Nala remembers the way Scar used to pressure Zira and the other lionesses to find him an heir. She doesn't want the same pressure on her son. Simba agrees. But hey, sometimes we find an answer without meaning to.
Things are tense for a while, as Zira and her followers constantly sneak into the Pridelands to steal food and water whenever they need to. Simba enforces more rules and punishments for anyone caught trespassing, not being afraid to get harsh if he needs to. Zira is a persistent threat, and he's going to deal with her as such. It takes a while for things to calm down, and even then Simba and Nala are both restless (YES both of them because Nala being so passive in TLK 2 pisses me off, especially if you think about it in context to the story I'M trying to present). Regardless...things eventually calm down. Simba and Nala try for...another cub, about when Kopa would have been Simba's age, when he left the pridelands as a cub. THIS cub will one day be the crown ruler of the Pridelands, and they're going to be SURE to protect this one and keep her safe. Safe especially from the outlands and the outsiders. Kopa returns once or twice to see his parents and congratulate them on the new addition to the family. YEAH I see he was there when Kiara was born (Just like how Nuka and Vitani snuck across the border to watch the ceremony and report to Zira about it later. actually this is a good time to mention I consider all the deleted TLK 2 scenes totally canon, before going forwards). Kopa continues to visit, and loves his little sister as she grows up. We can just...say Kopa wasn't visiting the day she and Kovu met when she was older. Zira sees this as a chance to use Kovu as a pivotal figure to get her final revenge on Simba, standard TLK 2 stuff, you know how it goes. So anyway, even though Kopa has no desires to be the crown prince again, he IS thinking about moving back home. When word reaches him about the fire and Kiara almost getting hurt, his urgency to return is quickened. He makes the journey alone, and returns just in time for the final battle against the outlanders in the rain. He joins in, there's a sort of comical POTC 3 bit where he and Kovu catch up after all this time, and he sees Kovu and Kiara are in love, and ultimately they win when Zira refuses to let go of Scar and kills herself out of spite. Vitani and the other outlanders rejoin Simba and his pride, seeing the error of their ways following after Zira. They all vow to do their part in the pride and respecting the circle of life, everyone getting happier and healthier as they acclimatize to Prideland ways.
Not long after this, Simba and Nala are going on another moonlight hunt, when they hear a cub crying out in the night. They go to investigate, and see a lone newborn lion is all by himself. He smells neither of the outlands OR the pridelands, and they're unsure of who this little one is, or where he came from. But...it's a cub, and they can't just leave him behind. Simba and Nala adopt him as their own son, and name him Kiongozi (Or...just Kion for short).
Now...the lion guard (The actual team, I mean) is not really a thing in this rewrite. Vitani and her ''lion guard'' biker gang lesbians are instated simply because Vitani and her team want to express thanks to Simba by looking out for trouble, and to make sure Zira's not still somehow prowling around near the borders and waiting for a chance to strike. Like...YEAH if they saw an animal in trouble, they'd probably help, but they don't exist to stop predators from eating other animals because that's stupid. They don't overstep their boundaries when it coms to policing other animals in the pridelands, they just...want to make sure Zira's not around. Plus, I'd be lying if I said Vitani wasn't also secretly checking to see if Nuka was anywhere. She's having a hard time getting over him. Luckily, she befriends Kopa and he sympathizes with her, as..he's still got a lot of stuff from the past he's dealing with inside.
So, with Kiara as the future queen, Kovu as her consort, and Kopa acting as an advisor to his sister, there's...nothing much for Kion to do.
Kion is....kiiind of a little brat lmao. He thinks he's got a right to boss Pridelanders around because he's a member of the royal family, and often plays ''Lion Guard'' with his group of animal friends. He's basically trying to copy Vitani, but going about it in the wrong way by getting involved with the affairs of other animals and being a little know it all telling them what to do. He's...gotten in trouble several times, and Simba is TRYING to teach him that's not how a prince behaves. He understands Kion's hunger, but..there's a difference between a fair ruler and someone who bullies others for power. it takes Kion a while to understand this, but he DOES try, even if he gets it wrong a few times.
AAAAND that's....PRETTY MUCH it???? Really this was more about fixing continuity errors, making Kopa and Kion fit in a bit more seamlessly, stuff like that. IDK, lemme hear yuour thoughts if you got em.

It took me so long because on the day you tagged me I started writing it right away and then tumblr decided that e and l are not acceptable letters - I got scared my keyboard was dying, but nope, it worked just fine when typing in word or even into a search line on another tab in the same browser, but tumblr just wouldn't 'take' them.
Also, I remember doing something similar before but with only 10 fics and I could've copy-pasted that and just add the next ten, but do you think I remembered it before I'd already painstakingly did 10 fics? Of course not.
And then, as I think you saw I was too scatter-brained for anything.
Why I'm even explaining this? I think it's the lack of contact with like actual normal humans and this is the closest, so I over do it. Oh, well, if I've already put in the effort to type it all. ;)
Oh, right, patterns: I tend to really vary in style? Though maybe shorter openings are more frequent than more wordy ones.

More headcanons from my main doc? Why of course.
(God this doc is so long, ple ase help me it's like 6k-)
Remus and Roman eventually thought up getting tattoos. They both have half of a heart on their right and left wrists respectfully. Remus' is red and Roman's is green, so when they hold up their wrists together, it makes a heart that's red on the left and green on the right. Both are outlined with orange, since that's what green and red are mixed together.
Of course, it wasn't too hard of a decision, since conjuring a tattoo for them is as easy as waving their hand.
The others, though, don't have it that easy, so they end up asking them for their own hearts. All of them are whole, and their own color, and they're on their left wrist, since they're all left handed.
Just as Roman and Remus have nicknames for the others, Janus has his own set.
For Roman, of course, they have their little two sided thing. He also calls him Sir Roman or My Knight at times, and does the same for Remus.
When the King was around, he called him accordingly, often addressing him as 'My King', sometimes with a bow.
If or when the twins ever fuse again, he may dust off the old name and bow once again, taking his hand and simply saying, "Hello, my new King."
The twins don't mind. (Being called the same name as him is...undesirable, as they aren't him anymore, but...at the same time, together, they are more. And besides, My King is an excellent name, and simply makes them feel royal. And they adore feeling royal.)
For Logan, he sometimes calls him Dr.Who, The Brain, or Mr.Logic.
Logan himself has some rebuttal nicknames, calling him Jekyll or Hyde depending on whether he's being nice or fuckin with him, like Roman and Janus' system.
For Patton, he'll call him Heart or simply Pat.
He's been calling Virgil Stormcloud for ages, same for Little Spider.
He'll sometimes call Remus Little Rat, because Remus loves rats in general and also really wanted him to call him that when he was younger. Now it's just another nickname, really.
When Roman jokingly asked for a version of it for him, Janus answered seriously with 'Little Lion', and now that's a thing too.
The others have their own nicknames for Janus, of course; Jan, Snake, Mr.Snake (though that's usually Patton or Remus when they're being Silly), Roman also uses Jekyll and Hyde sometimes, Scar (which is usually Remus, for shits and giggles), and whatever the hell else they end up thinking of.
I like to think the rooms work almost like they do in canon
Like they have the same layout as Thomas' actual apartment
But they can be changed slightly, whether that be certain fixtures like chandeliers or even shifting the layout of the area itself, though the twins are the best as this, of course.
And then there's the extension garden that they can go out the front door to find, too; all it takes is them simply deciding whether they wish to leave their rooms to the halls or to their garden. Though, it's isolated from the others, somehow, even though their rooms are right next to each other. The logic in it all is rather odd, and Logan has been trying to wrench an explanation from the twins for ages.
Roman and Remus themselves made their rooms much more extravagant, with the door to the Imagination being the closet closest to the door instead of...you know, a closet, and their couches much bigger. Even their kitchen is a much more decent size. Both of them made their bedrooms bigger, too, with their own canopy beds and an extra loveseat nestled in there. Not to mention all of the extra decorations they have everywhere. And, of course, they've got their desk, covered head to fucking toe with papers. Remus' looks disorganized, but to him, they are. Roman's are just disorganized.
They also have Balconies, Of Course, with seats and hanging plants and all
Remus really likes hanging off the balcony railing
Like just hanging himself halfway like a towel out to dry or even just holding on to the bars and swinging around on the outside edge
Roman was a bit 'idk dude :////' at first but eventually he was just like 'ok yeah he just does that' and even sits on the railing every now and then when he's feeling Dangerous
Remus will sit on it, yeah, but he'll also rock back and forth really hard and walk on it precariously for shits and giggles
Roman just holds his hand and waters his/Remus' plants, just to make sure he doesn't fall, cause he doesn't know what's down there or how their rooms really work with these balconies that somehow don't show the other sides' rooms beside them and a long field a story or two below and he does not want to figure out how it does work by watching his brother fall into the abyss, even if he could probably snap himself back up
Janus has absolutely used that balcony to dry clothes before, whether over the railing or with a clothesline
It's rare, but he still uses the twins' balconies for that to this day
Patton made his own kitchen a lot bigger-for baking!!!-and his living room, too-for cuddling!!!!!!-and his bed a bit comfier-for sleeping well!!!!!!!-and overall, the whole place is just. A bit more,,,,,,Homey. And as we know, there are all those old items scattered about, along with a absolute fuck ton of old stuffed animals stacked up in his room.
Logan's room is almost exactly the same as Thomas' apartment, since he didn't see much reason in changing much. There are, however, some more science-y posters and memorabilia, and that damned picture has been changed to one with squares instead of circles, which makes much more sense to him. He also implemented a decently sized desk to work at, but beyond the garden, there isn't much change besides that.
Besides the decorations we've already seen, Virgil's room isn't too much different, mostly cause he thought it was fine and it felt nice and familiar. He made his bed a bit bigger and nicer, though, and made his closets bigger, Just In Case. He also has extra cabinet space and a bigger fridge, for Snack Storing. There's also a blanket and pillow on the couch 24/7 for when he wants to go to sleep w the TV on (mostly for having smth on in the bg), but that's less smth that's part of the room and more somethin Virge set up for himself.
Janus' room isn't much different either, honestly. Bit bigger rooms, just for the sake of the place being less cramped, and a good sized kitchen bc A Bitch Gotta Cook. His closets are a bit deeper, too, for storage reasons. He also has his own washer/dryer/dishwasher for when the ones in the main area get full and things are still a goddamn mess. He'll just snap it to his room to deal with later. He also has piles of laundry scattered about-mostly in his bedroom, so it doesn't clutter up the rest of the place. The Vibe is a bit different, too, with how he's decorated it. It's very...like...classy. I guess. Just...lots of black and gold. Very like...old fashioned, kinda.
He also has a huge bed, partially for the fun of it, but partially because the other two used to come to him when they felt bad.
Now they do again, and it finally serves a purpose.
Rarely, the other three will even come to him, knowing he has a solution for their problems; they all have so much trouble with caring for themselves properly, and he knows about that, is all.
He's happy to let them come to him, really. It's his job to help them take care of themselves, anyways.
So ik we all write Patton as knowing how to clean and shit
But we all know how he actually is in canon
I'll give him the ability to cook for Family Dinner Purposes but I'm also saying he doesn't know how to clean for shit
The only one that cleaned before Janus came around was Logan, and that was purely because a clean area is better for someone to live in, not for any actual desire for things to be clean
He was usually too busy doing other Important Logic Shit to clean anyways
So the dumbasses lived in relative dirtyness
Until Janus came along and flIPPED HIS SHIT
Basically, Janus got a good look at the light sides' area and went 'oh my god what the fuck.'
See, he's got all the Cleaning Want, being self preservation and all. Aka, yknow, wanting to keep your area clean so you feel better about shit.
So even with Remus around, the dark sides' area is usually relatively clean, and when Virgil was still around, he kept his room clean, too.
He tries his best with Remus, but Remus has that kind of chaos where he knows how it works anyways, so he just does his laundry and not much else.
The first time he happened upon the light sides' area, though, he,,,,,yeah, he highkey flipped his shit.
All the others were there, so it was a whole ass show. Remus just laughed his ass off and Virgil just blankly stared, thinking 'yeah, I expected this.'
He flitted around the living room for a good while, cleaning things and saying 'why is this confounded place so dirty? There's laundry everywhere and the couch is a mess and the carpet! The carpet! How are you even living here?!'
And the others finally found out where every drop of cleanliness went to.
They're at Janus' whims for a couple hours, forced to help him tidy up the area. Virgil and Remus are sent off easily, like trained troops out to war. Jan says 'Remus, dishes, Virgil...check that fucking closet.' (It was filled with random bullshit. No surprise honestly.) And they're off, with salutes and all.
By the end of the session, the living room is clean and Janus is vowing to keep this godforsaken place clean for once.
"I'll take care of whatever it is you all need me to," he says, sighing as he closes the closet. "Just as long as this place stays clean, and as long as I'm the one that's allowed to handle it." He shrugged, a smile on his face. "It is rather fun after all."
Oh yeah, that's exactly where all the cleanliness went to.
He even asks to be allowed to see about helping the others with tidying their rooms up a bit. Even Remus mentions that his has gotten a little out of hand, surprisingly, and unsurprisingly, Roman is basically worshipping the ground he walks on, because his room is a fucking mess and he just. Doesn't know what to do with it.
(Remus eventually helps Roman figure out a good organization system For Him when Janus' system didn't really...work. They end up with smth super specific based on themes of items and shit.)
Virgil is first, since, with what he represents, he honestly doesn't have the energy for cleaning most of the time. (And yet, a messy area just makes him feel worse.) It's one of the main reasons Janus used to come by and do it for him every now and then; he respects the fact that Virgil simply can't do it himself, and so he doesn't mind helping out a bit.
The mess hadn't gotten too out of hand without Janus around, so they mostly just have a nice chat while Janus makes some piles and finally makes use of the basket Virgil has in there for clothes again. They even trade some old stupid jokes for really specific shit, like saying 'cup' super excitedly when there's a cup. (Janus found one under Virgil's bed one time when he had been missing so fucking many from the kitchen and he got overly excited for a second.)
Remus was second, considering the fact that if he was saying it was getting out of hand, things were really getting bad.
See, he usually doesn't keep things like dishes or clothes in there, surprisingly; usually the only mess is a hell of a ton of papers and different craft supplies, with some costumes here and there, but not actual clothes. He'd forgotten to haul some of that shit out recently, though, and it was fucking up his Chaos Organization.
Yet again, Janus had to fight off his need to Organize This Shit as he dug through stacks of papers to find the few dishes that were scattered around in the middle of them all.
At least they got to have a bit of conversation on their own again; it had been awhile. As always, they made the classic cup joke that all three of them knew (and would likely soon teach to the others) and generally talked about some other shit.
Third came Patton. Now, this one's a little...special. Yes, Patton's room is a Whole Ass Mess that needs Organizing, but that organization honestly includes throwing out some...old things.
See, a part of self care is absolutely throwing away things that remind you of bad things or past relationships that you don't need to think of anymore, or even just things that are cluttering up your space.
So after they got the general cleaning out of the way, having a moral debate or two along the way, they had to take a good long couple of hours organizing things, and then a couple more making a 'trash' pile, which took an awful lot of convincing from Janus and even more discussion about what things are good things to keep and what weren't.
Like the difference between all the old guys and dolls pamphlets and the card Virgil gave him on Christmas.
One reminds him of a long gone relationship that needs to be forgotten and the other is a reminder of a great friendship.
There was certainly a small conversation around the second, though, where Janus mentioned all of the little things he had from Virgil and the relationship they used to have, the relationship they finally had back.
And there was certainly a long discussion on the emo they both know and care for almost like a parent.
Fourth was Roman, mostly due to how grateful he seemed at the idea in the first place and how much that worried Janus.
And boy, did he have a right to be.
Roman's room was simply chaos. And not even organized chaos like Remus', no, he has no idea where anything is ever. The whole place was covered head to toe with papers, clothing, dishes, books, any and everything. Walking was a hazard in itself.
Janus just sighed, sat down, and started his piles.
He gathered all the papers around him and said, 'get me a box and grab all the dishes you can find. After that, grab the laundry.
We're making piles.'
Janus ended up doing a 'throw shit away' method with Roman, too, because he had ended up holding on to way too many old ideas and costumes, etc. and it really needed to go.
He also forced Roman to put some of his papers in binders, because for heaven's sa kes, there was so much loose leaf in that goddamn room that Roman didn't even know of. There were also some really fucked up notebooks they tried their best to salvage.
Lastly, and happily, leastly, was Logan. His room was mostly clean except for like 50 stacks of books and notebooks that he didn't know what to do with.
He insisted on keeping most of them, surprisingly-'so many of these are informational, or have records of important information!'-and Janus actually let him keep most of them, believing him and his pretty-solid reasoning. He ended up throwing a lot of the notebooks in a box and finding a place for them in one of the closets in his room and fitting in a new bookshelf-he just called in one of the twins to throw one against the wall behind the couch-to fit all of the old books into.
He actually had to force Logan to throw away some stuff, too. Old college textbooks and even age-old children's books tucked away in his closet, rotting away. (He found them while looking for room for the notebooks.) Logan had to finally admit that he was attached to them because...well, Thomas just doesn't learn nearly as much these days, and while he listens to him a lot more now, there was a time when he didn't, and just...he just missed when Thomas listened to him more. He missed when Thomas was striving for something so educational. He still has that old diploma hanging up just above his desk. (It was one of the few old things he let him keep.)
Janus had to drill it into him that Thomas does listen to him now, and holding on to the past, no matter how much better it may seem, simply isn't good. He ended up making a deal of sorts; "I'll listen to you rant about whatever you like, whenever you like, if you promise to let go of this all. Listening to you talk is usually fascinating anyways."
Janus ended up with a teary Logan in his arms and a whole box of old children's books and college textbooks to throw away, but he certainly didn't mind. (Remus had fun burning it all in a bonfire later anyways.
That was a fun night; all 6 of them at a little bonfire party in the Imagination.)
(Their chess matches were filled with explanations of astronomy and further chemical engineering knowledge after that, and Janus simply smiled and listened, making winning moves while Logan wasn't looking.
Janus wouldn't have it any other way.)
*Stumbles over myself* ok, hear me out here-
Remus and Virgil, one day, started calling Janus 'mom' as a joke in reference to how he was literally the mom friend among them.
Eventually, though, it was revealed that he actually...really liked the nickname.
It is part of his purpose to keep the others happy and well, after all. And besides, it just...made him feel. Important. Recognized for trying to help them.
Also it was a fun little in-joke and it gave Janus a reason to make up cute little nicknames like 'little spider', 'little rat', and 'stormcloud'.
After Virgil left, though, he...stopped calling him that. Remus kept it up, of course, and Janus was grateful, but still…
It simply felt...wrong.
Eventually, Janus and Remus found their way to him again, and Janus began holding out hope...just a little.
The first time Virgil said it again, it was as a flippant joke after Janus had fretted over his lack of sleep, rolling his eyes and snorting. "Sure, Mom."
Janus immediately paused, tearing up, and a great big smile grew over Remus' face. The others simply watched in confusion, unknowing of their little joke.
Janus smiled softly. "Of course, Little Spider."
Virgil was then left with a crying Janus, an explanation that he didn't mean to but that it was probably fine anyway, and a bunch of confused friends who needed an explanation of their own.

The Pillars with pets; Modern AU headcanons
(Part 1!)
Rengoku:
-found a tiny, sopping wet, absolutely filthy kitten lying half-dead in an alleyway
-“I shall take you home, save your life, feed you, clean you, name you Lion, adopt you and be friends with you for life”
-“in that order”
-frankly he never did plan to get a cat
-he always wanted a pet, of course, but he used to see himself as more of a dog person
-h o w e v e r, that kitten needed him. And Rengoku does not forsake victims of injustice!!!!
-so yes. He takes it home.
-he saves its life.
-he names it Lion, adopts it,
-and they become the best of friends.
-Lion grows from a scrawny little baby kitten into the hugest, fluffiest ginger cat anybody has ever seen
-Rengoku’s couch is perpetually covered with cat hair and he is so proud
-(Sanemi comes over once, wearing white pants, sits down, stands up, stares at his pants and screams)
-(Rengoku: she’s shedding! Isn’t it magnificent?
Sanemi: son of a bitch my ass is oRANGE)
-Lion becomes so huge that even Rengoku struggles a little to carry her around once she reaches full size, and he sometimes does reflect fondly on when his pet was small enough to actually hold, but luckily, Lion is also an incredibly lazy, incredibly easy-going cat
-she also cannot ever be convinced not to sleep in Rengoku’s bed
-eventually, she has kittens and Rengoku’s house becomes absolutely overrun with feral, fuzzy little creatures
-he adores them all!! So much!!! (lowkey would name them after Lion King characters lol)
-makes sure to send them all off to homes that he 10000% trusts, except for one that he keeps for himself
-Lion the matriarch lives to be 20 years old and is forever remembered as a proud member of the Rengoku family
Muichirou:
-Himejima: I got you some birds
-Muichirou: Birds are stupid
-Muichirou:
-Muichirou: Anyway, where are my birds
-the birds are a pair of blue budgies
-at first, it’s impossible to tell how Muichirou feels about them
-(but he really loves them tbh)
-one is Sora and the other is Yuki
-Muichirou keeps them in a big cage in his room
-and can often be seen just…sitting on a little stool in front of the cage. Staring at his pets. He can watch them for hours
-is not initially sure how to go about befriending them
-he’s kind of scared to tbh, but with some encouragement from Himejima and the information that they’re technically already hand-tamed, he starts making their acquaintance
-Sora is sweet and immediately warms up to him. Yuki is a brat and can’t express herself through any action but biting
-(Muichirou stares blankly at his bitten finger for a few seconds before deciding that he actually doesn’t care)
-he continues to act like he has 0 feelings about them but tbh, once they start sitting on his shoulder and come up to snuggle against him
-he goes Soft
-never has them in their cage after that, except for bedtime/times when he can’t supervise them
-lowkey shows them off to friends when they come over
-(Tanjiro gushes over how sweet they are and Muichiro just. melts. He loves Tanjiro 12398x more than before, if that was even possible)
-does *not* trust Inosuke or Zenitsu with his birds
-saw some vids on youtube of talking budgies and was like “hmmm”
-spent about a week trying to teach Yuki and Sora to talk before giving up
-(because he decided he didn’t actually care that much lol)
-(his pets are perfect. They don’t need to learn any extra tricks.)
-sometimes gets a little sad because watching Yuki and Sora snuggle together kind of reminds him of himself and Yuichirou
Shinobu:
-no pets! Said Shinobu, smilingly, because pets make a mess
-“and I don’t have the time to take care of a dog or a cat or a guinea pig”
-then Shinobu realized that tarantulas exist.
-her tarantula is a large, fuzzy specimen named
-Coco.
-Coco is a bit shy
-her tank is kept in impeccable condition on Shinobu’s desk
-the crickets for her food are carefully stored where nobody but Shinobu should be able to find them
-(this happened after that one time Kanao brought friends home)-(and a certain somebody spilled the crickets)
-(Shinobu was out for blood that day….right after she finished de-cricketing her house)
-Shinobu doesn’t really handle Coco much because she doesn’t want to accidentally damage her
-plus, it’s nicer to just watch her crawl around
-during down time, when she doesn’t have work to do and can finally relax, she likes to just sit next to the tank and read a book or listen to some music
-when she has particularly unwelcome visitors, she…tends to feed them horror stories about tarantulas with an angelic smile
-before introducing them to Coco
-she takes some sadistic pleasure in watching them squirm
-also will not stand for anybody insulting Coco. You talk smack about the spider, you’re banished from her house forever
-the only person in the friend group not afraid of Coco is probably Mitsuri, who thinks she’s the cutest, fuzziest spider she’s ever seen
-Shinobu loves her for that
-Sanemi took one look at Coco and reacted with “wtf is that”; he’s since lost any respect Shinobu might’ve had for him
-idk ultimately Shinobu feels like Coco is her soulmate; she’s beautiful, not particularly fussy, not clingy at all, but is still there, waiting in her tank when Shinobu comes home at the end of a long day
-and it’s just really nice to have a friend around, y’know
Giyuu:
-owns a turtle.
-he never intended to own a turtle
-he never intended to own anything
-he bought it from some shady dude trying to sell it from a tiny dirty bucket on the side of the road because Animal Abuse
-and was planning to give it to somebody
-Giyuu: Hi so I have this turtle-
-Everybody else in the squad: bye
-he also doesn’t know anybody outside of the squad so…for the moment, the turtle is his
-borrows literally every book on turtles ever from the local library
-the next day he wakes up looking like a panda, with 30 minutes of sleep under his belt and more knowledge on turtles than any non-professional could hope to have
-Giyuu @ turtle: I will not name you because that would mean that I have some intention of keeping you, and I have no intention of keeping you. None.
-Giyuu, two hours later: Your name is Haru, you are babie, and I will kill anybody who tries to take you from me
-Haru is a smol babie turtle and Giyuu has no restraint when it comes to purchasing his child’s things
-huge tank, rocks, heating lamps, food
-he goes above and beyond in providing proper conditions for his pet tbh. All the reading paid off
-he is incredibly paranoid and has an endless list of every single reptile vet within a few hour’s drive of his house
-(because what if Vet no.1 takes a day off so he goes to see Vet no.2 but Vet no.2’s heavily pregnant and her kid is due that day so he heads to Vet no.3 but Vet no.3 is on vacation in the Philippines-)
-is That Person who responds to “you need to get out more” with “I have Haru”
-people who hear him talk about Haru end up assuming that Haru is a human child and possibly his son
-worries that Haru will be lonely and asks google if turtles need friends
-Haru grows to be not-so-little in a few years but tbh? He’s still Giyuu’s baby.

It's nice to get confirmation that Filoni drinks the Qui Gon is One Good Jedi kool aid. He probably even buys the whole Anakin would never have fallen had Qui Gon trained him. I kinda suspected since watching Mortis arc, now I know I was right. He is framed like Mufasa from Lion King imparting valuable life lesson to Simba (Anakin). Idk what it is about Qui Gon that has fans absolutely convinced he was everything right. Even Anakin believes Obi-Wan was no Qui Gon in 2003 TCW.
Yeah, his statement was brushing up very close to the “One Good/True Jedi” nonsense (or I suppose, more accurately “small group of personally approved Jedi are the only good/true Jedi”), and he was definitely propping up his faves at the expense of the rest of the Order and I’m...highkey not about that kind of thing. I see it enough from the fandom as it is. I honestly don’t even like it much when people call Obi-Wan (who is unquestionably my favorite) “the perfect Jedi” - an exemplary Jedi, certainly, but I don’t believe that there is such a thing as a “perfect” Jedi, there isn’t one true path for them, each one confronts their fears and resists their temptations in their own way. Their way of life isn’t a static set of standards of “goodness” or “light”, it’s a lifelong commitment and journey of continuous self-improvement and active choice. Their culture’s ideals may be communal, but it’s not about those ideals; rather it’s about the choice to seek them, to strive for them. And that’s a very personal thing, so to me it doesn’t make any sense to elevate any one (or small group of) Jedi at the expense of the others. There isn’t a “most right” under the growth mindset of the Jedi.
He probably even buys the whole Anakin would never have fallen had Qui Gon trained him.
I hope not, because that’s some stale nonsense I’ve seen far too often, that much like most everything else people claim would’ve prevented Anakin from falling, completely discounts Palpatine’s involvement! If Qui-Gon had trained Anakin, Palpatine would’ve still been there, grooming Anakin and manufacturing distrust and resentment wherever he could. Only if Qui-Gon had somehow been able to prevent Palpatine’s access to Anakin from the very beginning (which I suppose is possible, but probably not very likely), would his training as opposed to Obi-Wan’s training have made much of any difference.
But I don’t see Filoni as saying this, since he did say that Ahsoka benefited from Obi-Wan teaching her just as much as she did from Anakin, so he doesn’t seem to think badly on Obi-Wan’s training.

I mean I can completely see why Anakin would believe that Qui-Gon was the greatest Jedi ever - the man freed him from slavery! And argued for him becoming a Jedi! And then died heroically fighting evil! Of course from Anakin’s perspective he’s going to idolize Qui-Gon and his memory, and Obi-Wan wasn’t going to do anything to dissuade that because of course he’d prefer to remember his master fondly too, and if an overeager kid is asking you to tell stories about him, you’re of course going to share the most flattering ones. So of course it’s very easy for Anakin to conceptualize Qui-Gon as this idealized figure that would’ve been perfect for him - things would be very different if Qui-Gon had survived and Anakin had to contend with the reality of him. Even if his training was good for this AU!Anakin, it would inevitably fall short of what canon!Anakin pictures.
Now where the fandom is concerned...there’s very little basis for this view of Qui-Gon, and mostly seems to me to be simply a matter of them projecting their dislike of or disagreement with (what they perceive to be) the Jedi Code and the Council onto Qui-Gon, because he’s been conveniently identified as going against them sometimes without much specifics on what (or why) he objects to. So when filling in the blanks, it’s easy for fans to assume his views reflect theirs, that he has the same objections they do, that he’s a perfect one-to-one mouthpiece for their issues with the Jedi.
But it’s pure headcanon. Nothing in the films (or even the expanded material that I’ve come across) suggests that Qui-Gon disagreed with Jedi rules on forbidding attachment or controlling emotion, which is what most fans take issue with. All we know from the films is that Qui-Gon doesn’t always follow the Code, and the only direct defiance we see from him is his insistence that they adopt in a child significantly older than typical for training. It’s not framed as a wholesale opposition to everything the Council is (otherwise, why would he be a Jedi? Why would he want Anakin to be trained as a Jedi if he didn’t mostly agree with the Jedi way? There are other Force traditions, and Qui-Gon could easily leave and start his own if he saw everything they did as wrong).
And it’s not even framed as Qui-Gon being in the right, either! I think people see it that way because we’re predisposed from popular culture to expect fictional authority (especially religious authority) to always be the “bad guys” or at least as an obstacle, while the lone wolf going against the grain is the one we’re supposed to root for and see as having the right idea (another probable contributor to that is that Qui-Gon has a pleasant and confidently assured voice and posture, which does a lot for perception of how credible one is). But taken as it is, without that expectation, I don’t see anything in the film that frames the Jedi Council or Qui-Gon that way, and I don’t think I’m supposed to, either, considering how Lucas talks about Qui-Gon in the TPM audio commentary:
[1:30:54] “So here we’re having Qui-Gon wanting to skip the early training and jump right to taking him on as his padawan learner, which is controversial, and ultimately, the source of much of the problems that develop later on.”
[1:34:08] “One of the primary issues between - this relationship between Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon is that this is establishing Obi-Wan as the kind of straight arrow, the center of the movie and Qui-Gon as the rebel, this is the one who’s constantly sort of pushing the envelope. Which will switch itself in the next movie, when, rather than having his master be the rebel, he has his padawan learner become the rebel. I’m using Obi-Wan as this centering device through all of these movies, even as we get in with Luke and everyone else later on.”
He’s definitely not elevating Qui-Gon above the other Jedi here - highlighting him as a rebel, yes, but hardly saying that makes him better than the other Jedi for it. He’s fairly neutral and matter-of-fact on Qui-Gon here, really - Qui-Gon being a maverick isn’t right or wrong, it simply is what it is. So I certainly don’t think we’re intended to “side” with Qui-Gon over the Council or Obi-Wan, or make any sort of value judgement on the rest of the Jedi based on Qui-Gon’s relation to them as a maverick, or otherwise see him as the one getting being a Jedi “the most right”.

Mom & Dad (Steve Rogers X Reader)
Summary: Steve Rogers is not the only mother hen the Avengers ignore. He’s only the Dad of their makeshift family. Mom is much, much more stubborn than he is.
Requested by Anon: Could you do a Steve Rogers/superhero!reader where they meet in the middle of a battle and go their separate ways but they keep ending up in the same battles and one day Steve finds she's not there and starts to worry, finding her bleeding/some kind of really bad injury in an alley and she's unconscious, so he takes her back to the compound/tower and watches over her in the hospital and maybe when she wakes up they kiss or something. Thanks!!

Steve Rogers was getting used to having (Y/N) (L/N) around. It was almost a rare thing for her not to be involved in their battles. No matter where in the world the Avengers went, she almost always appeared. After finding out she worked for SHIELD, it was a little easier to believe, but it was still ridiculously coincidental that they would send the same agent every time. Steve was starting to get suspicious.
When the Avengers first noticed her kicking ass in one of their scrimmages with leftover HYDRA agents, they could have sworn she was a civilian. They were quickly corrected when Steve tried to help her evacuate.
“I appreciate the help, Captain,” she hissed through her teeth as she roundhouse kicked someone. “But I’ve got it handled.”
She whipped out a SHIELD-issued handgun and brought down two others, leaving the Captain with wide eyes. With a big grin and a slight silly bow, she sprinted away, disappearing into the battlefield.
“Cap, your civilian is running the wrong way,” said Tony over the comms.
Steve shook his head. “She’s not a civilian. SHIELD sent a babysitter,” he sighed, rushing off.
After that, she never stopped showing up. It took them awhile to figure out her name, but once they did, she was practically family. Well, extended family.
They couldn’t help notice that she could be aggressive sometimes. She never approved of their plans, except maybe Steve’s. He was perhaps the only one with an actual plan of attack, while the others improvised.
Somehow (Y/N) had managed to get access to their comm channel and took that advantage to heart, chiding them every three seconds. Her frustration was easily translated, but only a few of them listened to her warnings. This resulted in more frustration and quietly hissed threats over the comms.
One day, she let out a particular nasty shout.
“Tony, you fucker! I’ll kill you!”
Steve stopped in his tracks, standing right behind her in a quickly falling flurry of HYDRA grunts. “It’s not okay for you to run around and threaten to kill everyone.”
She sent him a glare before shrugging. “Oh, well, you didn’t tell me that, so how should I know?”
Steve rolled his eyes and was soon separated from her, but couldn’t help laughing to himself. She was almost like a reluctant mother hen. He couldn’t help but admire her ability to put up with the team without begging for a transfer. Even he would’ve given up by now, he thought.
“Focus, Cap!” She barked at him as a HYDRA agent snuck up on him.
He snapped back into it at the last minute to bring the man down before nodding at (Y/N), who rolled her eyes back. That just made him smile a little. He knew she really did care, even if she tried to play it off.
“We’ve got a bogey entering the southeast building,” Sam said.
At his voice, both Steve and (Y/N) stopped, listening intently. The former pressed a finger to his earpiece to make sure he heard the man’s words clearly.
“Is he carrying anything?” Nat’s shout sounded from down the street and in their ears. “What’s the target?”
“Looks like he’s headed for the 5th floor. Can’t tell but I think I see wires--”
Before Sam even finished his sentence, dust flew up from the main street in front of Steve and (Y/N) sprinted by. Her boots kicked up dirt as she went, blinding Steve for a second, but she wasn’t stopped by her own mess.
“I’ve got it!” She huffed as she passed by him, disappearing into the building.
When Steve realised what she had said, he turned on his heel and ran after her. “(Y/N), wait--!”
He passed Natasha on the street and stopped for a brief moment, sighing at her for not attempting to stop the agent.
She shrugged. “Don’t look at me. This isn’t my fault.” She raised her eyebrows at him pointedly.
Steve mostly ignored her and made his way to the southeast building, taking down agents as he went. There weren’t many left and they were spread farther out, so entering the building wasn’t too hard. Odd as it was, he didn’t spot any sign of (Y/N) or the bogey she was chasing. Doing a quick survey of the room, he spotted the back door wide open.
“Back door is open,” he said to the rest of the team. “I’m gonna check it out. Sam, go in from the roof. Make sure he didn’t go up.”
“Got it.”
Steve halted by the back door before swinging into the alleyway, shield raised. When no gunshots sounded, he peeked out and glanced around. Behind him, he heard a quiet groaning.
When he turned, he spotted two figures on the ground. One was the bloody remnants of a HYDRA agent, shot straight through the heart. The other was (Y/N), who was face down on the ground and definitely the one letting out an almost silent whimper.
“Shit,” Steve muttered under his breath before jogging over and crouching beside her.
Tony cleared his throat over the comms. “Cap, what do you got?”
“(Y/N)’s down,” he said, flipping her over gently onto her back.
There was a trail of blood spilling down the side of her face, dripping onto her shoulder when he held her up. It came from the side of her skull and, upon further survey, Cap found a bloody stain matching her injury on the dumpster.
“And the bogey?”
“She got him, but she’s not responding.” Steve tried to wake her gently, but got nothing. “Bleeding from the head. It could be bad. We need evac.”
Natasha spoke up before anyone else could. “On my way. Don’t move her.”
Steve leaned over (Y/N), still holding her in his arms. A breath of relief escaped him as Natasha appeared around the corner. As she raced over to assess the damage, Steve whispered to himself and perhaps (Y/N), too.
“Just hold on,” he said. “I’ve got you.”
(Y/N) was admitted into the compound’s medical centre as fast as possible and after a long process of stitching her up, she was put in one of the recovery rooms. She still had yet to wake up, so Steve had yet to leave her side. Wanda had brought him a cup of coffee, which he drank in minutes, and Clint brought him some garbage fast food. It wasn’t much, but it would help him power through the night.
And power through the night he did, not getting a wink of sleep. They told him her injury wasn’t fatal, but it could be damaging. In fact, she could have a small case of amnesia. At that news, Steve wanted to cry. It would be Peggy all over again.
Over the last few months of knowing (Y/N), the captain had become rather fond of her. She rivaled his own mother hen attitude toward the team. Peter even called the two of them Mom and Dad as a joke once. (Y/N) called Steve ‘honey’ once after that, which made Bucky choke on nothing. Steve wouldn’t admit it, but he had almost tripped over himself.
“Steve?”
At the small whisper from the bed, Steve snapped back into focus. (Y/N) had opened her eyes drowsily and glanced around, spotting him.
He leaned over her bed and instinctively took her hand. “Hey. How are you feeling?”
“Like I ran into wildebeest stampede,” she chuckled.
Steve just kind of tilted his head. “What?”
“Oh, man, you haven’t seen Lion King yet?” She gaped a little. “Who’s been catching you up? They’re not doing a good job.”
Steve laughed a little, ducking his head to look at the ground. “Got really worried about you there for a second.”
She raised her eyebrows. “Yeah?”
“They said you might have amnesia,” he said quietly, glancing up again.
Instantly, she frowned. She squeezed his hand almost reassuringly and tried to meet his gaze as a form of comfort, but he wouldn’t look. Of course, she knew about Peggy. Everyone did, but especially SHIELD agents.
“Everybody else okay?” (Y/N) asked to change the subject.
Steve laughed. “Of course that’s what you ask. Yeah, everyone’s fine. Peter passed out on the lounge couch, so Tony drove him home, since he has school today.”
“Love that kid,” she muttered. “Are you okay?”
“Better now,” he sighed, giving her a small smile.
(Y/N) could not help looking up at him with a dorky grin. She then tugged on his arm. “C’mere.”
Though bewildered, Steve scooted his chair as close as he could and leaned over her, searching her face to see if something was wrong. He saw nothing off, so was content to remain in the new spot.
(Y/N) placed her hand on his cheek, caressing it with her thumb. He started to get an idea of what she was hoping for and leaned in closer, kissing her softly. His lips were somewhat rough, but neither noticed. When (Y/N) pulled away, she went in again to press her forehead against his.
“You’re sweet, Cap,” she said.
He smirked. “And you’re stubborn.”
“MR STARK! YOU OWE ME A NEW SUIT!” Peter screeched as he ran out of the recovery room, which he had just entered a second before. “MOM AND DAD ARE KISSING!”
