Just thinking about how Five Hargreeves is the most like his father. Just how similar they truly are.

Reginald and Five are foils and it really shows how they are two sides of the same coin. They even have the same goal (if you really think about it).

Five and Reginald are both incredibly confident in themselves, to the point where their ego turns against them. It's their biggest weakness.

They are unable to detect their own mistakes because they assume they won't make any. Ultimately that's what leads them to their fall.

It's what leads Five to the apocalypse and it's what leads Reginald to fail at BOTH the academies.

Five's journey is made of loyalty, and everything he does is for his family, he doesn't want to save the world, he wants to save his family, and he'll do anything (up to slaughter a room full of people without batting an eye) for them, to make sure they are okay, and together.

Well Reginald is quite the same, specially after what this last season told us. He has done what he has done because he wanted his wife to come back, he went to unbelievable extremes just for her.

The two of them will do whatever it takes for the people they care about.

They are both calculating, cynical, intellectual, loyal(only to those who they feel are deserving of that loyalty), realistic, they will do whatever it takes, they have grey morality and are tied to the past... even Five said it himself in the third season.

"Old dogs like him and me, we never change"

I personally think it's heartbreaking how, the kid that turned out to be most like his father is the one who hates him so.

(Not saying the other's don't hate Reginald, they do, rightfully so)

Five spent all those years in the apocalypse haunted by his father's ghost and he will live with the knowledge that he is his reflection, another clone in an irreparable broken chain of abuse.

The only thing that diffirentiates Five and Reginald is that Five does have his humanity.

But other than that, isn't kind of ironic? That Five is exactly the same as the thing he hates the most?

just realizing that because the brellies were born in 1989, they were teenagers in the early 2000’s and in their 20s in the 2010s. the following are very real and truthful things that i KNOW happened.

allison was a Juicy Couture girlie. she had a set of velour trackies in EVERY color. and matching sparkly uggs. she was THE mcbling girl. she partied with paris, lindsey, and britney.

klaus was a big name in early indie sleaze culture. he partied with cobrasnake, cory kennedy, cat marnell, and early pop icons. he was in the seedy underbelly for sure, but was famous on myspace and early facebook.

viktor was into twee when it originated. he loved the smiths and everything ‘retro’ or ‘hipster’. he was obviously quiet about it, but his violin talent was enough to get noticed by twee icon lindsey sterling, and they were buds for a short while.

diego has always been a people person, but not much for public lifestyles. he obvi got kicked out of the police academy for not following rules (canon) but he ended up becoming a bit of a party person for a short while, but in the college party scene of boston. he did end up returning to the vigilante lifestyle later on, but he just wanted some kind of regular person college experience. he was smart enough where he could’ve gone to an actual college, but never did.

luther was a loser and a daddies boy. the end.

alright i’m watching the umbrella academy season 3. i’m definitely team brelly still but i like some of the sparrows. it’s quite frankly hilarious that the brellies have fought enemy after enemy including the whole commission and they’re being bested by a cube, some crows, a telekinetic, and an illusionist? be serious 😭 also harlan’s back, clocked him immediately. this wig they had on elliot was atrocious hopefully it’s gone by episode 2. diego and klaus still not beating the autistic allegations.
