24/11, let's do it
Alright, today there isn't much to do but have the first step of my research paper finally over.
find general theme
find conferences that fit the theme
quick summary of those conferences
define precise theme
write the introduction
put the conferences in order
i have to do this before noon. then i'll try and send it to a professor, hoping for a feedback before the deadline ... otherwise i'll just hand it over like that. there isn't much else i can do anyway.

21/11~ could tomorrow begin TONIGHT ?
I know i have so many hopes for the future (okay the next few hours but that's far enough) and i KNOW i can't go from zero to study machine in 12 minutes so i wanna set goals i can achieve:
🥀 work on phonetics until dinner
🥀 find a subject, and maybe 3 hours worth of conferences to use in my research paper.
i didn’t do shit about that :( man is procrastination a drag
i hope to come back the right way when midnight strikes, wish me luck (no wish me magic)

A L R I G H T
6 weeks until the 1st of January. 42 days until i have to hand over my final assignments. 1008 hours to go, and i haven't done SHIT. quite a disaster, ya might think ? well, you'd be wrong ! (you'd be right because it is. it totally is. i just have a god complex).
7 final assignments, and two final exams. (this is really just a mental note i'm sorry the internet has to see this but i can only be shamed into studying at this point)
topics in literature: essay on a medieval work (should study and practice i guess ? this is NEW)
topics in civilisation: research paper (have to skim the whole class content, find a subject, study the class content, write my research paper)
literature: commentaries on two Shakespeare plays (work on first commentary on my own, meanwhile study until they upload the text to work on)
civilisation: probably an essay ? (i have to study but i don't know what to prepare for exactly)
language and globalization: online exam (must study, a lot, and perhaps practice any question i can find ?)
linguistics: phonology and grammar exam (i'll study the basics and then practice practice practice until i get the text to work on)
conferences: research paper (i have to find a subject and some material this week; and then work on each conference at a time, and finally link them all)
translation: online translation exam (should practice but mostly work on theory)
literary critics: two essays (i have to study a LOT and then work on my essays until they are PERFECT)

𝔡𝔞𝔶 𝔣𝔦𝔣𝔱𝔢𝔢𝔫.
No class today ! The strikes have majorly impacted the train system, so I’m stuck home for the day - and probably tomorrow as well.
𝕿𝖔𝖉𝖆𝖞, 𝕴 𝖜𝖆𝖓𝖙 𝖙𝖔:
- work on the first time period of my history class (from 1831 to 1848)
- work on two texts from my philosophy Atlande textbook
𝕬𝖓𝖉 𝖕𝖊𝖗𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖘 𝖆𝖑𝖘𝖔:
- work on two texts from my French lit theory textbook (on the author)
       All that while drinking lots of water (and maybe coffee too), and for heaven’s sake staying off my phone for the rest of the day (manageable! but I did stay an awful lot of time scrolling after lunch and I kinda feel like .. crap. But a new day begins here at 3PM! I also really want to finish The Secret History!!)

𝔡𝔞𝔶𝔰 𝔫𝔦𝔫𝔢 𝔱𝔬 𝔣𝔬𝔲𝔯𝔱𝔢𝔢𝔫.
It has been a while since I have last updated things - which makes for a very messy, 50-days-of-productivity-accountability-whatever thing, I know. But I was in my mock exam period and I haven’t had the time to do much else, to say the least (I chose sleep over girlblogging, not sorry).
But, as a means of journaling and keeping track of my experience of the whole study rush:
- I think French went very great. I only think that, and it might turn out wrong, but it felt that way. What I still need to work on: actually, I need to work more on the book themselves rather than focusing on theory. Theory’s good and necessary, but a deeper focus on the books would have been even better.
- I deeply hated the philosophy prompt for the dissertation. I don’t think there’s much that can be done about that (I can’t understand all the words of the French language in their deepest meanings). But what I can work on: have a wider range of texts to quote ; otherwise my ideas don’t have much to rely on and I can’t develop much.
- I was very excited about the English literature exam! We had to translate a short extract of The Value of Laughter by Woolf - I think it went great - and comment it. I spent most of the time wondering what I’d day only for everything to make sense during the last two hours! So I had to rush and maybe I didn’t get to say everything I wanted. But I’m still super happy.
- and finally, the French -> English translation ! I had to translate an extract from A l’ombre des jeunes filles en fleur, of Proust, and I really loved it. I made some dumb mistakes that might cost me a lot but otherwise I think it went amazing. Plus, I had so much fun ! And I know there’s a big school to work for. But fun is really a reason to pursue things !

Tuesday. 28th of February.
Day eight.
Today: history exam !
Not an edit, just doing a recap of how it went while planning for the rest of my day.
I felt so sick today, it really was a shame. Woke up at 5 to study a bit, and I was already feeling terrible. Then I reread my notes in the train, from 7:20 to 7:50, and walked to school like it was a sort of hellish realm! I worked a bit on my draft from 8 to 9, and … fell asleep on my desk for the next 15 minutes (our professors must have a lot of fun watching us just doze off all together). Then I think I did an okayish job. Not what our history professor expects I fear, but hey, I did manage to write 10 pages at least. Good for me!
For the rest of the day:
- find quotes from the four books we’re studying ;
- learn by heart those quotes, and the one from my notes on the textbooks.
That’s good enough already!
I’m still feeling super sick. I hope it’ll be okay for me to go take the exam tomorrow ! I can’t really afford to retake it next week or anytime. I have learned the quotes from my textbook by now (it is about 8PM) and still need to work on my books. But I can most definitely handle this! French lit IS my thing after all!
I wish all of my studying mutuals
A very good studying ~

No time to blab! I’ll recap my day later- basically I’m just done with geography for now! Tomorrow’s history. So ... time to hustle !
Edit: Geography was fine, I believe. I felt good about it at least: I can’t say for sure it’s a success though. I just know it’s not too bad. Decent is good enough to make me feel okay. It’s not over !
𝕾𝖙𝖚𝖉𝖞 𝖍𝖎𝖘𝖙𝖔𝖗𝖞 𝖑𝖎𝖐𝖊 𝖒𝖞 𝖑𝖎𝖋𝖊 𝖉𝖊𝖕𝖊𝖓𝖉𝖘 𝖔𝖓 𝖎𝖙 !
Edit: I can’t say that’s what I did. I felt exhausted and so unprepared. It was depressing, to be honest. But! This isn’t over and it will be alright.
(quite frightened, feeling severely unprepared. we’ll see ! Let’s. Do. This !)

No time to lie around today ! This is my last shot for the geography mock exam coming tomorrow. I don’t feel especially ready, but I’m not too scared. First, because I have some time to study before I take the exam; but also because geography isn’t too scary anyway. I shouldn’t be too overwhelmed by this : I have worked for it already, and the last geography mock exam I took was rather conclusive, despite a weak preparation (14/20 is not the best out there for sure ... but hey! that’s very good for a lazy person - who hates geography!).
𝕾𝖔, 𝖙𝖔𝖉𝖆𝖞 𝖜𝖎𝖑𝖑 𝖇𝖊 𝖆𝖇𝖔𝖚𝖙:
>>> the final geography study session !
- study my atlas notes;
- study my notes from the atlande textbook;
- study a couple case studies in link with the different themes (maps and stats!)

I don’t have much time today- busy day, and I want a little bit of time to myself as well. I’ll work smart, to be better prepared for the days to come, rather than try and get ahead of schedule for nothing !
Well ... I failed hard. Crash and burn ! I didn’t do anything at all. I only had a couple of hours to complete those things, and I ended up just lying around and falling asleep. So, there’s that !
But a failure one day doesn’t mean it’s over anyway. Tomorrow I’ll study 100% for my geography exam Monday!
𝕾𝖔, 𝖙𝖔𝖉𝖆𝖞 𝕴 𝖜𝖆𝖓𝖙 𝖙𝖔:
- Sort out a plan for my history exam;
- Study my geography notes, and learn by heart everything that I can in the limited time I have for now;
- Reread all of my history notes once.
𝕬𝖓𝖉, 𝖎𝖋 𝕴'𝖒 𝖆 𝖘𝖚𝖕𝖊𝖗-𝖍𝖚𝖒𝖆𝖓:
- Find new interesting case studies in geography.

𝕸𝖞 𝖌𝖔𝖆𝖑𝖘 𝖋𝖔𝖗 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖉𝖆𝖞 (𝖓𝖔𝖓-𝖓𝖊𝖌𝖔𝖙𝖎𝖆𝖇𝖑𝖊!):
- Overview the entire history period;
- Plan for the history dissertation;
- 10 sections of my geography textbook;
- 2 sections of the atlas.
          Today feels sort of like a failure... I felt like my brain was broken the entire time, I was extra slow! But I’m done with the biggest part of my work at the moment - doing research for the history exam coming next Tuesday. Sure, I’ll still have to put some order in my notes, and (dear me) learn it all by heart. But now, I can just go into learning machine mode: no brain cell needed for that.
To sum up: not too proud... but not too mad. Tomorrow I’ll focus on geography 100% for sure!
𝕬𝖓𝖉 𝖎𝖋 𝕴 𝖍𝖆𝖛𝖊 𝖊𝖝𝖙𝖗𝖆 𝖙𝖎𝖒𝖊, 𝕴'𝖉 𝖑𝖎𝖐𝖊 𝖙𝖔:
- Study a text from my Atlande philosophy textbook
- Gather quotes from Lettres de l’Année 1671.
      (don’t forget to: drink water, make coffee, move around, stay off phone and be positive. we can do this!)
𝖞𝖔𝖚’𝖗𝖊 𝖔𝖋𝖋 𝖙𝖔 𝕲𝖗𝖊𝖆𝖙 𝕻𝖑𝖆𝖈𝖊𝖘! 𝕿𝖔𝖉𝖆𝖞 𝖎𝖘 𝖞𝖔𝖚𝖗 𝖉𝖆𝖞! 𝖄𝖔𝖚𝖗 𝖒𝖔𝖚𝖓𝖙𝖆𝖎𝖓 𝖎𝖘 𝖜𝖆𝖎𝖙𝖎𝖓𝖌. 𝕾𝖔…𝖌𝖊𝖙 𝖔𝖓 𝖞𝖔𝖚𝖗 𝖜𝖆𝖞!

𝔇𝔞𝔶 𝔱𝔥𝔯𝔢𝔢. 𝕿𝖔𝖉𝖆𝖞, 𝕴 𝖜𝖆𝖓𝖙 𝖙𝖔 𝖆𝖙 𝖑𝖊𝖆𝖘𝖙:
- Finish the overview of the entire period in history;
     -- well... I’m not done yet sadly :( I feel kinda disappointed.
- Work on 10 sections of my geography textbook;
     -- I learned some cool stuff... and hated a lot of other stuff haha
- Work on 5 sections of the geography atlas;
𝕴𝖋 𝕴 𝖍𝖆𝖛𝖊 𝖊𝖝𝖙𝖗𝖆 𝖙𝖎𝖒𝖊, 𝕴 𝖜𝖎𝖑𝖑:
- Study some philosophy;
- Gather quotes from the lit scheduled readings.
   --- that’ll have to be my next point of focus !!
𝔗𝔥𝔦𝔫𝔤𝔰 ℑ 𝔢𝔫𝔡𝔢𝔡 𝔲𝔭 𝔡𝔬𝔦𝔫𝔤 (𝔢𝔵𝔱𝔯𝔞!):
I studied extracts from another text instead!
𝕷𝖊𝖙'𝖘 𝖉𝖔 𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖘 𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖓𝖌 ! :)
     Today, I won’t use social media for other purposes than updating my progress, and interact with mutuals - no mindless, mindnumbing, endless scrolling!
    I barely used my computer for anything that wasn’t work, and didn’t even touch my phone, yeehee! I spent my breaks hanging out with my brother, listening to music. I’m glad I did that ! It is vacation time after all. Hustle hustle but have some fun as well :)
(anyone else feeling like creating study habits and resolutions ? let’s work hands in hands !)

𝖂𝖊𝖉𝖓𝖊𝖘𝖉𝖆𝖞. 22nd 𝖔𝖋 𝕱𝖊𝖇𝖗𝖚𝖆𝖗𝖞.
𝔇𝔞𝔶 𝔱𝔴𝔬.
𝕿𝖔𝖉𝖆𝖞, 𝕴 𝖜𝖆𝖓𝖙 𝖙𝖔 𝖆𝖙 𝖑𝖊𝖆𝖘𝖙:
- keep on working on my history syllabus: do as much research as I can (hopefully I’ll manage to study the entire period !)
          ↳ I didn’t study the entire period, but I did get some in-depth research done about the handling of the french colonies during the third republic. I’m happy with what I did there!
- work on those three sections of philosophy I didn’t do yesterday.
- work on five sections of my french lit textbook.
- work on five other sections of the geography atlas.  (all done my daily list!)
𝕴𝖋 𝕴 𝖍𝖆𝖛𝖊 𝖊𝖝𝖙𝖗𝖆 𝖙𝖎𝖒𝖊, 𝕴 𝖜𝖎𝖑𝖑:
- study some sections in my geography textbook.
- work on 5 more sections of my philosophy textbook.
𝔏𝔢𝔱'𝔰 𝔡𝔬 𝔱𝔥𝔦𝔰 !
(+ drink water, move around, and no phone !)
Well, I’m going at the desired speed at least ! I wish I could do some extra work. I won’t be too late on schedule if I keep working at this pace, but I’d like to get ahead on it ! I was particularly tired today, mostly during the afternoon. My morning study session was amazing - I took just a short break to warm another coffee pot and the flow ~~ was there. So even though I felt sort of overwhelmed in the afternoon, I’m happy with myself !
     I want to keep track of my mood and energy during this period of extensive studying. It allows me to see things more clearly - and I want to show that managing a great deal of studying doesn’t mean there’s no mental struggle behind it. I might be excited and motivated, I’m still a human being who gets tired - and feels a great deal of fear upon the thought of failing !
𝕷𝖊𝖙'𝖘 𝖐𝖊𝖊𝖕 𝖎𝖓 𝖒𝖎𝖓𝖉 𝖜𝖊 𝖈𝖆𝖓 𝖉𝖔 𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖘! :)

          ↳ I ended up studying three out of the five,I’ll catch up on those tomorrow !
- get a solid basis for my history syllabus
          ↳ I didn’t really ended up working on the plan so much, but I did some useful research I won’t have to do later on !
