So I got my butt in the @eurekastreetartfestival this year. This is gonna be my biggest public mural yet- I’m painting Dave’s Place in my own neck of the woods (Henderson Center). I’ll also be painting next door to @jamescareyart who’s contributions to Eureka’s public art have been some of my favorite- lucky me! I also learned that @art.ekg is throwing one up too- go check her out. I’ve included a tiny glimpse of what’s to come, but you’re gonna have to get in gear early August to see what’s what. . Today’s coloring book is a little unconventional- but it’s something I’m pretty enthusiastic about. For those of you who don’t know, I also work with Two Green Thumbs landscaping, and we sometimes go out to give people garden design advice in addition to our usual installs and maintenance. I’m so grateful to my boss Julia who as taught me sooo much about plants, because I love this kind of work. . This is a walk-around landscape design we did last Friday. I took pictures then re-drew them with specific ideas about plants, placement, and materials— taking careful consideration for microclimates and sun exposure. I am so grateful for art, because without it I am the worst communicator.
