My opinion of BTS preforming at AMAs
As an Asian, all I can say is that I’m extremely proud to have BTS represent kpop at the AMAs. I grew up with Jackie Chan as my only Asian representation. I remember being offended when someone would call me Jackie Chan as a kid. (which I shouldn’t, Jackie Chan is awesome) I grew up believing that being called Asian is an insult. Now that I’m older, I’m proud of my race, and I’m happy that BTS was able to become an asian representative tonight. What BTS did tonight, opened many new doors for future asian artists. Obviously, some people may not be pleased that it was BTS, but all I have to say to that is- be grateful! It’s extremely hard for any asian to break into the american industry so when one does, GOOD! Asian have always been seen as a joke, or trend, and that’s not going to change overnight. This is just the beginning, when Psy became popular, I’m sure not many people were expecting any other kpop group to come to america, but it happened. Psy opened that door for bts, and now bts is doing the same for the next generation. The fact that we are able to have an asian artist become more know for their musical talents, does it really matter who they are? Expecially when they’re truly trying to make a difference for our generation? With each asian artist walking through those doors, the more chances they have to be able to show their real talents. BTS is the first kpop group to preform at AMAs and they'll definetly not be the only or last.

SOME IDEAS FOR THE BTS FESTA
I'm tired of seeing Jin, Suga, J-hope, Rap monster, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.... They're everywhere! As a real BTS fan, it's only natural that I want my bias to have alittle more screen time. I want Hitman bang to dance cover "Blood sweat & tears", with a huge sign in the background saying "car door guy". While he dances I want him to wear suga's iconic bandana, j-hope's spike mask, rap monsters sunglasses and jimin's muscle shirt during the "No more dream era". I also want him to rap jungkook's part and do taehyung's Harry potter shot too. Make it happen Hitman bang. I didn't vote 200 times a day to be disappointed. I'm waiting.

BTS Wining Top Social Artist Award: My Opinion
As someone who randomly came across their debut MV No More Dream in 2013 when it had less than 300,000 views, I’m EXTREMELY proud. They've worked very hard over the years, with each new album you could see how much they have improved. Jin with his vocals. Suga with his producing. J--hope with his choreographing. Rap Monster with his rapping. Jimin with his dancing. V with his lyrics. And Jungkook with his singing. But the one thing I'm proud about and is the reasons why I love BTS so much is that they're not done.  They're always looking for ways to work harder for their dreams and ARMYS. They deserved the top social artist award tonight. To be honest, I'm actually happy that they didn't perform. They're in a new country. They're not in South Korea. The best way for me to explain this is that it's a lot like high school. Just because you were the smartest or most popular and received special treatment in elementary school, doesn't mean you'll receive the same treatment in high school. BTS in America is like a 9th grader, they're at the bottom and will slowly move up. A lot of people were demanding that BTS were to perform or that artist need to "bow down to the kings" the only reason in America people need to be respectful to them is because it's the proper way to act. BTS achieved many things in Korean, I just wished fans would understand that sadly we have to separate Korea from America when it comes to achievements. (Compared to another American artist) Don't get me wrong though, I'm happy fans are striving for BTS but starting from the bottom again is a chance for them to learn. When I saw BTS watching the award show, all I could think of was "One year" one year they will be at the top, they don't have to do it now but one day they will. Them sitting there showed them that they are nowhere near being the top artist and that they need to keep an open mind that just because you're succeeding in one place does not mean you are in the same position in another. At the end of the day, BTS was extremely humble and I'm sure they will be aiming to actually be able to perform one day.

My thoughts on RM Change
To be honest, when I found out Change was released and that Rap monster was rapping in English, I was kinda worried. I was worried that his English may seem a little awkward and sound unnatural. Don’t get me wrong, I understand his first language isn’t English so it’s obvious that his pronunciation may not be perfect. But to ME if you’re a songwriter word choice is important, since you are sending a message. The one thing I do not enjoy whenever a songwriter writes lyrics in a different language, is it sounds lazy, as if they took the easy way out, and it makes zero sense ( something a native speaker would never say and sounds awkward) and doesn’t flow at all. When I listened to Change and read the lyrics I can say I’m proud that Rap monster took the challenge and wrote his rap in English. The lyrics made sense and flowed very well, you could tell that he understood what he was writing. Now on the other hand, just because I’m proud of him does not mean I don’t have any negative thoughts. Although his English was good, I hope he studies hard and tries to improve it, in order to write more complex raps in English. We all know how well he raps in Korean, I want him to be ambitious and not allow the language barrier to overshadow his talents. Expecially since he’s from a popular group, people will automatically have higher expectations. At the end of the day he did a good job. Also there have been a lot of comments about how some people aren’t watching the video because it’s not their bias. All I have to say on that is, it’s fine to have a bias, it’s natural. You can’t hate on someone for liking someone more than someone else, they can’t control it. But they can control their actions. If they’re bashing on one member just because it’s not their bias then they are wrong. I don’t care who your favorite is but you can chose to be respectful. BTS are a 7 member group, you don’t have to like all of them, but you should respect all of them, not because you have to but it’s probably the most moral thing to do. When making a comment think to yourself “ Is my opinion really that important that I’m willing to ruin someone’s happiness? Expecially if they’re not doing any harm?” (ಥ⌣ಥ) They’re good people, they don’t deserve all this disrespect ‎(ノಥ益ಥ)ノ ┻━┻

BRAND NEW MORNING
Tumblr media
I know this is a J-pop group, and I know it may not be everyone's cup of tea. But when this song came out, I personally thought the lyrics could apply to our kpop community. I know the song and dance might not be to everyone's taste and is a little corny (But my J-pop loving self likes it) but please listen to it or just mute the video and read the lyrics. The main point of this whole post is that, in my opinion I feel as if the K-pop community is unable to praise their bias group or other groups without being torn down. This goes for all groups, instead of looking at each other as competitors, why can't we see other fandoms as teammates? Shouldn't we work together to create a positive image for K-pop around the world? We should be able to like and view a video without being accused of "wanting attention" we should be able to support as many groups as we want (especially if their music is good) without being called "fake" or a "traitor" But honestly watch the video, if  you have no interest of watching the video, no problem I'm not going to force you. But I do want you to read some lyrics in the video that was really inspiring to me.
"Beginning of a new era!"
 "Beginning of a new generation"
 "we'll go beyond the past"
"We go down, but we come up again. The unbeatable"
"Rather than dissing or looking down on somebody, we wanna praise somebody for something nice"
"Don't Hate, Spread Love"
"When we became insecure, we realized the meaning of 'Arigato' for the first time"
"comrades of the same generation, now is the time to help each other"
"Rather than having something important all to yourself, we want to share it to our friends"
"Don't Steal, Start Giving"

Also this J-pop group is Morning Musume 17. They are a rotating group with graduations (After School did a cover song from them). The group was created to be a stepping tone for the girls to improving their singing and dancing skill, and help them reach their dreams, while in the process learn to love themselves as an individual.
