Chapter Two
YOUR POV
You awoke abruptly, sat straight up in bed. You could feel your clammy back as your shirt stuck to it, you shivered in disgust and wondered what could have caused you to wake up so suddenly. Could it have been Him? No, You could not think like that, you were on the same ship as him, decidedly close enough to hear your thoughts whether they were directed at you or not. Rubbing your eyes you looked at the clock and realised you had woken up a whole two hours before you usually had to in order to start getting ready for the day. You realised that you weren’t going to get back to sleep any time soon and so slowly rose from the bed, the soft sheets fell to your feet as you shuffled to your bathroom. There was a small tub and you thought that a bath was the way to go since you had all the time in the world and were sweaty and in desperate need of a deep, cleansing soak. A sigh left you as you leaned over and turned on the hot tap and felt the water temperature before putting the plug in the drain, the warm water already relaxing the muscles in your hand and you realised how tense your muscles were.
You had been laying on a cold, smooth surface, your arms were tied above your head and your legs were spread and tied to the other side of the surface. You weren’t naked but may as well have been, you were in nothing but your underwear, all your scars were on show. You were vulnerable and exposed to your core, your body was shivering with cold and fear. You could sense a presence in the dark room with you but you could not recognise the figure in the shadows.
Another large sigh escaped your lips as you relived the beginning of the dream that had obviously shaken you deeply, but the beginning was all that had come back to you. You sauntered back into your general living quarters to find a change of clothes for after your bath, you knew you did not know when Kylo was due to turn up and you definitely did not want him to be able to see your scars. You dumped the pile of clothes far enough from the tub that they would remain dry for the duration of your time in the water, you turned to the mirror and scowled at yourself as you realised that there was a thin sheen of sweat on your forehead which some of your hair was sticking to. Grotesque. You thought as you tried to comb through the mattes in your hair with your fingers, obviously you were unsuccessful and with a huff you spun around and watched as the water level steadily rose.
Your eyes darted around the room, desperately trying to find out who was occupying the room with you. Fear was coursing through your veins as you heard a rustle of fabric from behind your head. A gloved finger grazed your cheek and ran down your jaw to your neck, you gulped as you realised whoever this finger belonged to could see your scars and you desperately wished to be alone, it did not matter if you remained tied up, you just did not want to be seen. The body that the finger belonged to stepped out of the shadows and you almost stopped breathing completely. It was the handsome face of the master who’s head you kept invading.
‘Now little girl, why are you invading my head with your mundane thoughts?’ he growled lowly. He was angry and you could see why, he was a highly esteemed member of the First Order, you were a useless mute. Of course your thoughts in his mind bothered him.
You could not speak and he knew this, but at this moment you could not even think to answer him. You had hoped that he would just send you away once he realised that you were going to be a constant annoyance to him as there seemed to be no way to get your voice out of his mind. You were scared of what he would do, you could feel his anger rolling off of him like a river bursting its banks and flooding the surrounding area.
You shook the image out of your head, you did not know for sure how Kylo felt about your voice in his mind and you could not make dangerous assumptions in case he heard them. You hoped beyond all hope that he could not see your dreams at night and the images you brought up, you wished to the stars that he would only be able to hear your thoughts. You felt extremely exposed as it is, there was no filter to your thoughts and he heard them all. There had never been anyone that was privy to any of your thoughts, after all you could not even communicate the ones that you wanted to share. Ren made you vulnerable and it made you uncomfortable, he was possibly the last person in the galaxy that you would want to hear your innermost thoughts.
The bath was full and so you turned off the tap and stripped your clothes off chucking the dirty pile the opposite side of the bathroom from your clean clothes. Humming (well your version of a scratchy, throaty hum) you stepped into the bath and sunk into the water with great relief. One by one your muscles relaxed and turned to putty as you laid in the water, still and serene, recovering from the emotion of the dream you had just woken up from.
Kylo growled in anger above you as you could not think of a way to reply to him, you had no answers and could not see a way to diffuse the situation.
‘Nothing to say huh?’ he smirked down at you. His hand closed around your neck and started to squeeze. You began to choke, the sound an awful guttural one, he laughed and withdrew his hand from you. Only to pull something out of his layers of robes, a knife. A large knife, with a jagged edge that you knew would be painful.
He smirked evilly down at you as you gulped down the rising bile and closed your eyed in preparation for the cold metal to meet your warm and clammy skin. The tip of the blade danced down your neck and you felt yourself beginning to cry as a lump in your throat formed and tears pricked your eyes.
Please don’t. You begged in your mind. I don’t know why you can hear me, I’m sorry, I-I-I can leave, please I’ll leave.
He chuckled deeply, ‘No pet, you’re not leaving, you have already taken up too much of my mental capacity, you need to be disposed of before you manage to worm your way into anyone else’s brain.’
You sobbed as he pressed the blade firmer into your skin, it finally broke in the valley of your breasts, he pressed in deeper and deeper. Your gargled screams filled the room as your body was ripping apart with the jagged blade that was piercing you.
You dunked your head under the water to erase the painful images of your nightmare from your brain but they were seared into your memory. Why did you feel this way towards him? You had thought he was handsome, no matter how much you scolded yourself for thinking that and so far even though his presence did terrify you and his reputation should have sent you running, you did not feel that he was a major threat to you. Even though your vivid dream would contradict that thought you could not ignore the tiny but powerful part deep inside you which could not wait to see him. That tiny part also wondered how his skin felt against yours and you hated to entertain the thought but a larger part of you also wanted to find out those answers.
To distract you from your wondering mind and to rid your body of the rest of the residual stress from the night you reached over and grabbed the generic body and hair wash that was provided for all low level staff. The silky liquid was spilled onto your hands and you reached back to massage it into your scalp and run in through your hair. A low hum escaped your mouth and you submerged your head once again to wash the soap out of your hair. You quickly eyed the clock and you still had one hour before your usual waking time and so you decided to take your time with the rest of your bathing and really work out all of the stress that had built up in your limbs. Once you were done there was still half an hour left but the water was beginning to turn cold and so reluctantly you decided it was time to step out of the bath.
Your warm toes met cold tiles and you shivered before picking up a towel and drying yourself off before moving towards the pile of clean clothes that you had prepared before the bath. Once you were dressed you realised that there was still an hour before you were required to start working and with nothing more to do you made your small bed and sat on it. Twiddling your fingers was no use as you knew that your thoughts would inevitably turn back to him and you did not want him hearing anything so you hurriedly turned on your data pad so you could start planning your day, you may even swing by the cafeteria to grab some lunch for later as you currently had nothing edible laying around your living quarters that you could take with you.
With half an hour spent and half an hour left you realised that there was no use in waiting around, he was not coming to get you right now and you may as well get on with your day lest you wanted to bring forth the wrath of General Hux for not doing your job properly. You got up and headed to the cafeteria, slinging your bag over your shoulders as you went.
The halls were not completely empty, you encountered the odd storm trooper here and there but they often did not bother you and you did not get in there way in return. When you made it to the cafeteria and saw that it was practically empty, you smiled and moved to pick up a flask of soup from the heated section, you paid for it with your employee card and then looked down to your data pad in order to start towards your first job of the day. Now you had fixed that strangely hard job, the ones that were next on your list were very simple, there was no problem solving involved. The problem had already been diagnosed and all you had to do was quietly go in and fix whatever was the matter.
The first job was replacing some loose screws in a control panel for a data analysis so that the keyboard no longer made a rattling noise. The second was to reboot some computers that had been crashing while important work was being done. These jobs flew by and you completed them with little to no interaction with anyone.
Then came job three of the day: there was an engineer working on the Command Shuttle, His ship, that was having issues with their computer systems and as their focus was ships and not computer motherboards you were sent to solve the issue. The computer with the issue was not one that was on the ship but the one that logged all of the engineers work and was where they ticked off checklists etc, so it was fairly important for safety reasons that this was remedied. You were grateful to find that the commander of the ship was nowhere to be found in the bay where his shuttle was kept. Unfortunately, you were not alone on this job, an engineer was stood with her arms crossed staring hatefully at the misbehaving piece of equipment. You walked into her line of sight and made a gesture asking her to move aside so you could have better access to the computer. She nodded curtly and stepped backwards, her arms remained crossed and her attitude was hostile despite her moving aside from you, you felt uncomfortable.
Carefully you exposed the motherboard and could immediately see the issue and silently went about fixing it and replacing certain components.
‘Who are you, I’ve never seen you around here?’ she asked from behind you.  All you could do was turn your head to look at her and offer her a small smile, you wondered if there was any paper in your bag so that if she insisted on talking to you, you could try and talk to her in your own way.
‘Well are you going to answer me?’ he tone was much more aggressive now and you could tell you had offended her by not offering her a proper response.
You turned to her again and this time gave her an apologetic smile and shrugged a little before reaching into your bag. Before you could register what had happened you were being pushed into the ground as the engineers hands wrapped around your neck as she climbed on top of you. She brought your head up by my neck and slammed your head back into the ground. You groaned in pain as your vision became blurry as you tried to focus on her and why she was having such a violent response to you not being able to answer her. Of course you had seen people become hostile towards you because they could not understand you, but they were never this aggressive. A physical move was rarely made. You could feel tears prickling in your eyes and you tried your best to not let them fall, even though she heard your groans of physical pain, you were not going to show her anything else.
She removed one of her hands from the tight grip on your neck and brought it above her head. He open palm came swiftly onto your cheek and you could feel the sting spreading across your face as she lowered her head to yours.
‘You don’t think I’ve noticed you scuttling about? All alone, uncovering secrets for our enemy you SPY.’ she seethed at you.
There was nothing you could do, you were pinned underneath her body weight, her grip on your neck getting increasingly tighter. Your airflow was being cut off and you were sure that your face was turning different colours at an alarming rate.
I’m not a spy. I am not a spy. I. Am. Not. A. Spy. You were screaming in your head but you knew all your efforts were futile as she could not hear you and you had no way of making her hear you. You couldn’t have responded even if you did have a working voice box but she did not seem to realise this and the fact that you only could have produced a strangled gargling noise only seemed to enrage her.
Next she brought her hands into a fist above her head and she brought it down onto the same cheek. This time the force was enough to make your head whip to the side despite her other hand holding your throat in a vice grip. Black spots started to invade your vision as your body was starved of oxygen.
The familiar sounds of those heavy boots filled your ears just as the girls grip on your throat loosened, and you close your eyes and breathed with relief. Then your body was no longer pinned underneath hers and hers was thrown onto the wall with a loud bang which made you wince as your head was still throbbing from how it had been slammed on the floor seconds earlier.
You could not open your eyes as your head throbbed and you gasped, desperately to get enough oxygen back into your lungs. Kylo was near you, you could feel his presence as he kneeled down to your level.
‘Open your eyes y/n’ his modulated voice commanded, you scrunched them together and then managed to open them, not without more pain running through your head. You locked your eyesight onto the place on his helmet that you were sure his eyes were peering at you from and gave a tiny nod. Yes I’ll be ok.
‘Hmmm’ he deliberated and then turned away from you as you slowly started to sit up. The room was silent as Kylo moved towards the engineer on the wall apart from her pathetic whimpers, you rubbed you neck trying to relieve the tension that had been rebuilt into your body.
She was suspended a couple of feet off of the ground, her arms pinned to her sides, her back flush to the wall. There was no where left to go for her and you feared what Kylo was going to do next, there was no telling what was going on underneath that mask and you were not sure if you even wanted to find out. He raised his arm to focus the force, suddenly she started spluttering and choking - he was force-choking her.
No this isn’t the way. You thought, hoping that he would listen. Please don’t hurt her. Another strangled wheeze escaped her pushing you to add another, please to the end of it.
A low familiar growl spread around the room, ‘She attacked you and here you are pleading with me to give her mercy?’ he seemed astounded at what was happening and that he even had to ask this question.
The engineers eyes moved frantically between you two, trying to figure out how you were communicating. Especially as you were not reeling in the pain that was expected when Kylo Ren invaded people's minds and sifted through their thoughts.
Yes, listen please just stop this. This is not the first time someone has been hostile towards me, they don’t understand me or how to communicate me. I frustrate them, and with my .. appearance .. my scars. I look different, suspicious which means that people naturally distrust me.
You hoped that he would not notice your hesitation over your scars and appearance but you knew that you could only wish to be so lucky.
She just thought she was protecting a cause that she loves. That we all serve, I understand that the stakes are higher on such an important ship like this, with important people like you.
You stood and waited for his response, tension was growing as the engineer was changing colour similarly to how you were not too long ago.
‘Fine.’ he moved closer to the girl and you held your breath. ‘She is not a fucking spy you stupid bitch. If I find out that you touch a single hair on her head again’ he steps even closer and his hand squeezes into a fist and she lets out another squeal, ‘you will not live to tell the tale.’ he warned.
With a sweep of his hand the girl was thrown against the another wall with such force that it left a dent. You did not have time to stop and check that she was ok as Kylo’s robes swept past you and he was already through the door and you realised that it was probably in your best interest to follow the man considering the promise he had made to find you today. That and you did not really have a lot of intension of staying in a room with your assailant. You found yourself jogging again after every couple of steps in order to keep up with his long legs and soon you found yourself in a part of the ship where you had never been before, a small drop of fear rippled through you but you had to bite back all your thoughts, you did not want to make him any angrier.
There were noticeably more storm troopers lining these halls. They were protection, you were nearing His chambers. You kept your strides strong and tried to no contemplate why he was leading you here, you also began to second guess your choice to follow him as he had not looked over his shoulder or given you any verbal confirmation of your assumption.
Finally a large black door stood in front of you and Kylo leant over a screen and entered a code and the door slithered to the side and allowed the giant man to stride through.
‘Come.’ he ordered and you realised that your feet had been glued to the floor, so you quickly came to your senses and shuffled in and the door closed swiftly behind you. As you walked into the room you noticed the matt black tiles which covered all walls in the room, the books scattered over a large desk that also had screens with complicated plans on it that you would never understand, the jet black silky sheets which were strewn over the bed and finally you landed on the man whose back was turned to you. As you had been scanning the room he had taken his helmet off and it was by his feet, his raven locks were exposed and all you wanted to do was reach out and touch them. However, you would not reach out and touch him as his wide and strong shoulders were moving up and down with deep and ragged breaths. He was angry and you weren’t about to poke the bear.
The silence was deafening and for some reason all you could think about was how he saved you. Why did he save you? Why was he so angry? It was obvious to you that he had heard you screaming in your mind and had come to your rescue but why? You were just a useless mute, he was a master. Why would someone like Him help someone like you?
He spun around and his face was brought inches from yours, you could feel his warm breath fanning your face which sent shivers down your spine.
‘You ask me why I’d save you?’ he asked lowly and dipped his head so that he could place a kiss under your ear, a sweet spot, which made you hum in pleasure.
‘I saved you because you’re mine.’ he nipped at your ear and you inhaled sharply as pleasure bloomed from the spot where he his lips were now placed, hovering over your skin. ‘We have a bond that I cannot wait to explore pet.’
You felt cold as he removed his face from your neck, and looked up into his pots of honey for eyes and almost melted into him. His expression was one that you could not decipher but you could stare at his handsome face all day. He smirked down at you.
‘I can hear you.’ he taunted in a sing-song tone and you went beet red and looked down at your shoes in embarrassment.
He hooked a finger under your chin and tilted it so that you had to look at his smug expression. He leaned in and placed a chaste kiss on your lips. The moment his soft, plump lips met yours, you knew that you were in deep trouble as something stirred inside of you.
‘Stay here for the rest of the day, relax. I will come and take care of you later.’ he whispered and all you could do was look at him.
‘Answer me.’ he ordered while tilting his eyebrows, questioning your judgement on not replying to him.
Yes sir, you thought out loud as a smile kept on your lips. He smiled at your answer and leaned in again, this time the kiss was longer and more complex. Where your skin touched you could feel the nerves beginning to hum in excitement, it was not a battle of a kiss which pleasantly surprised you, it was a dance. A careful and passionate dance, so when he ran his tongue over your bottom lip you allowed him entrance and control of the kiss as he gently dominated you. A hand snaked to the back of your head and buried it in your hair, he tilted your head back which allowed him more access. You could feel yourself falling into his frame as his other hand held your cheek and then snaked down to your waist and pulled you into him, so his entire body enveloped yours. He slowed the kiss down and you almost whined in disappointment but knew better than to vocalise that feeling, he could probably already tell what you were feeling. He smiled into the kiss and then grabbed your lower lip between his teeth and tugged at it which made your eyes open in shock, only to be met with his deviant ones.
He fully detached himself from you which you secretly hated, but it was no secret to him.
‘Clean up and get some rest pet.’ he murmured as he turned to retrieve his helmet from the floor.
He left the room without saying another word, leaving you dumbfounded in the middle of his massive chambers.
Here it is FINALLY aha. I’ve been grinding all day to try and rewrite it all, some parts I deliberately didn’t write because I now think they’ll fit better in the next installment. I think this is the longest part so far and I really hope you like it :) Thank you beautiful readers once again <3

Master and the Mute Kylo Ren x reader - Chapter Two

Chapter One Chapter Three
YOUR POV
As you had spent more time on the Finlizer you slowly forgot your frustrating first morning. You had delved deep into whatever assignment was given to you and thankfully Hux had deemed it appropriate to give you more solo tasks than ones where a team was involved. He had also not engaged with you on a face to face basis which you were also extremely grateful for, you had a feeling that he resented you for causing him to be put in his place by Kylo Ren, which you understood but did not relish in.
Today was similar to how the last couple of days had passed, you had been assigned to fix a row of lighting panels that had kept malfunctioning leaving corridors in darkness apart from the subtle red glow that came from all the wiring and little red bulbs on motherboards that were lined beneath the flooring. For some reason you were really beginning to struggle, it was as if every night you would leave having made some amount of progress and then you would return the next morning to find what felt like a completely different set of wires in front of you. It was endlessly frustrating as you knew that your skills were more advanced but for some reason you just could not figure it out, you rubbed your face with frustration as you looked down at the unscrewed panels and offending wires before you.
You just could not find it in you to focus, you had a sneaky suspicion why, he had been creeping into your thoughts at night and you had been waking abruptly in the night. It was unexplainable. You had fully recovered from your encounter with the dark caped master of the force, but that did not stop your curiosity. Why could he hear you? What did it all mean? Would he do anything about it? You had heard that when a master of the force was reading your thoughts you could feel it and apparently it was shockingly painful, so why hadn't you felt anything at all? Was he trying to read your mind? If so, you had no idea his motives in doing so, you were just a mute engineer - so far down the food chain from him that it was actually laughable that he would even look in your direction.
The wires hummed as you began disconnecting certain ones and inspecting them for damage.
I wonder what else he heard from my mind? Your blood chilled as you realised that he may know things about you that not a soul on this earth knows, about your accident and your poor late parents. Could he see images in your mind? Relive memories as you thought about them? You thought to a couple of days after the accident when you first were able to stand up from the comfortable bed from which that lovely old woman had nursed you. You were completely naked as some of your skin was still sizzling in places where the explosion had burned you. You stared at your marred flesh, burns covered a large surface of your legs and arms, a lot of your torso had managed to escape the fire, but you disliked it for other reasons. Then there were the scars. Debris had been flung in all directions, as your father had similarly been an engineer there was lots of scrap metal lying around the house as he was always building something it seemed. There was always a new idea in his head that he decided to pursue on a whim. Unfortunately for you it meant your skin had been split open in many areas. Most notably your neck, there was the main scar, the deepest, the one that had stolen your ability to speak. One end started on the left side of your neck and slanted down it to where your neck met your shoulders and down to the top of your right breast. The second largest scar crossed the first near your collar bone and travelled down your arm, ending in the middle of your forearm. The third and ugliest in your eyes started on your lower left cheek, it was barely on your face but the bubbling flesh made sure it was noticed, it travelled down your neck and ended a little after it had collided with the first scar. Those were the three main scars where the flesh was raised and red, they always looked angry and as if you were boiling from the inside out. Your body was decorated with lots of smaller white scars where debris has impaled you, not as deep as the angry three but deep enough that it left a mark on you.. You remember falling to your knees and sobbing, you were unrecognisable to yourself. You were ugly, marred and alone in the world.
A small shock shot through your fingers from an exposed wire which broke you from your thoughts. Finally! This may have been causing the malfunctioning, you smiled smugly as you felt accomplished having found the fault now you could just fix it and move onto the next assignment. You reached behind you and into your tool box to find some new wire coverings, you quickly replaced the faulty covering and replaced the panel over the wires.
Satisfied with a problem finally solved, you ticked off the assignment on your data pad and decided to sit and wait for the notification of your next assignment come through while you took a break.
Pulling a flask out, your poured yourself some coffee. This was not a luxury provided by the First Order on their ships, it was something you had brought from the planet you were working on. The warm and rich taste calmed down your mind from the emotional tangent it had been on. There was no way Kylo would be able to hear you all the time, he surely has to be close for this strange connection to just transmit all your thoughts into his head. That must be why h you had not seen him in the two weeks since your first meeting. You did not know but you assumed it must be very agitating to have someone else's stream of thought filtered in with your own, especially the thoughts of a mute girl who basically has no filter as she has never had to watch her mouth/ edit her thoughts and feelings.
You let out a mute chuckle at the thought of your benign wonderings intertwined with the thoughts of the most powerful and important man in the universe.
Slowly, you felt the silence in the corridors get heavier. These corridors had been empty in the days that you had been working. These corridors were not central to the ship so even though it was strange it did not bother you. But the soft thudding of heavy boots echoing off the walls did. Who in the hell was that? Quickly, you checked your data pad to see if there was a new assignment yet so that you could move on and would not have to run into whoever those boots belonged to. For some reason your intuition did not think that it would be a harmless stromtrooper that would just walk by and completely ignore your existence. You hastily put your mug of coffee by your feet and started to gather the rest of you tools into the toolbox and then placing the toolbox into the bag that you slung over your shoulder as the footsteps got closer and louder. Your lovely smooth silence was being disturbed and so your mood had instantly been dampened despite the mug of heaven you retrieved from the floor. You stopped to realise that your years of isolation due to being mute had made you hate interacting with people. Your stomach wobbled with your little laugh at how absurd you were when the boots rounded the corner and your breath got stuck in your throat again.
Him.
He was taking long strides towards you, mask obscuring his face, he was a predator who was stalking his prey and all you could to was stare and admire how powerful he looked with his cape billowing elegantly behind him. You realised that he was definitely close enough to hear you now so you tried your best to push him out of your thoughts and instead focused on the dark brown liquid in your mug. His steps continued towards you and you began to feel his presence.
Silence again was restored and you felt yourself relax even though now he was stood right in front of you. You were not sure what he wanted and even less sure if you were willing to find out.
"Are you afraid of me?" The mechanical voice asks and you raise your eyes to stare into his helmet where his eyes would be. What colour are they? You wondered and then snapped back to thinking about the cooling coffee in your hands.
"All you have to do is think the answer, I can hear all your thoughts. Ever since you arrived on this ship I've heard you and I cannot understand why, and yes it is extremely frustrating. Do you have a connection to the force? Are we related? Did you know about our bond?"
Your mind stilled with no effort after his bombardment of questions: a connection to the force, related a BOND?? You sobered yourself up and looked back into the helmet.
I have no idea, you answered. No-one has ever heard my thoughts, I have no-one, I am pretty sure we are not related Prince and a bond are you mad? You and I? A Master of the force, a Prince, a Knight and a stupid mute? You must be insane. You sneered and the silence from Kylo's helmet made you more uneasy by the second, you realised the mistake you had made and reminded yourself of who you were actually talking to.
A sigh came from the helmet in front of you. He was hesitant. You felt it, it was unmistakeable.
"That's fine we'll figure that out later. Are. You. Afraid. Of. Me?" he spoke quickly and then offered the question much slower. More deliberate. This was the most important question to him and the one you had evaded successfully until this moment.
Were you afraid of him? His helmet did not help that was for sure. The whole mask and cape get up was powerful and almost demanded respect and fear from anyone who was to gaze upon it.
There was a small hiss and a click from above you and a loud clang as something heavy hit the ground near your feet.
"Don't forget that I can hear everything you are saying even if you are not aiming it at me." his raw voice mumbled. No longer edited or amplified by the voice modulator, his voice was as smooth has honey and as deep as a wealthy man's pocket and as rich as chocolate you had once tried from a trader. You almost swooned at the sound of his voice addressing you, it gave you courage.
"Look at me and tell me if you are afraid."
You obediently raised your eyes to gaze upon his face. He was human much to your surprise, you were convinced he was some type of monster the way he powerfully commanded his armies and the way he ruthlessly disposed of his enemies as if they were nothing but annoying flies buzzing around him. The first thing you noticed was his dark locks which framed his face handsomely and curled in such a way that you fought the urge to reach up and run your fingers through them. Somehow you knew that Kylo would not have been too happy with such a familiar act. You had heard that very few people saw him without the helmet and so you understood that this was a strange occurrence for him. You quickly moved onto his strong aquiline nose, it made his whole face look strong and confident as his e=height enabled him to look down it upon anyone who he wished to make feel small. Then there were his eyes, the deepest brown that you had ever seen, but as you looked into his eyes you realised that he was doing the same to you which made you feel uncomfortable and so you swiftly moved your gaze further down to his lips which were plump and pink, you were almost envious of how beautiful he was. It was almost scary that this was the face that all the storied said had committed atrocious acts that would remain in people’s nightmares for decades to come.
He was handsome, intimidating but handsome. You were not afraid of the man who stood before you.
No. You thought as you finally raised your eyes to meet his own again.
You observed what you thought was a small smile grace his pretty lips but it was gone too quickly for you to be definite about its existence. You waited patiently for what he was going to do next, still looking into his eyes steadily.
“I need to know about our connection before it becomes too much of a distraction from my duties. Then I'll decide what to do with you."
Fear struck through you like lightening at his words and you worked hard to not let him notice where your mind was going.
Your thoughts were broken when the large man bent down and picked his helmet off the floor and placed it back on his head, you secretly hated that you could no longer see his soft locks of hair or his deep eyes which seemed to stun you still every time they met yours. You let out a soft sigh and watched him to see what he would do next after fiddling with the latches on his helmet.
"Where do you stay?"
You weren't sure exactly how to explain where you were staying as you still relied heavily on the data pad map to manoeuvre around the ship. I can take you there? You offered as it was the only way you could see of effectively letting him know where you were staying, after all you were not going to say no to him, he was a great commander. As you had said before, you were practically at the bottom of the food chain, a small helpless creature and he, he was at the top a predator who was powerful and dangerous. There was no point in denying him anything if you valued your life.
He gave a small nod to you and so you turned and reached for your data pad from out of your bag and brought up the map, you thought it may be quicker if he saw it and led you there, after all this was his ship and you were still getting lost  in it every day. You turned to face his stoic helmet again and raised your hand to him which held the data pad, he responded by gently taking it from your hands, his leather-covered fingers brushing yours in the exchange which sent shivers down your spine which you prayed he didn't notice. He scanned over the data pad screen, made a tiny nod and handed it back to you.
"Follow" he commanded and you were not about to disobey the demanding modulated voice.
He started his long strides down the corridor and you were left to follow, he did not look back to check, he just assumed you would be there. You had to jog slightly to keep up with his long strides but he did not seem to notice, your heart was thumping harder in your chest as you realised he was going to see your living quarters. They really were not much. You had unpacked what little you owned and had decorated the walls with pictures of your favourite places. Nothing sentimental of your parents was left after the explosion and so all you were left with were memories and because there were no other people in your life the pictures were all landscapes, you didn't mind but were worried about what he would think about you when he saw them. I mean he could hear your thoughts but you weren't sure if he could see images that you conjured or feel emotions that overtook you. This uncertainty reminded you that he was only a few strides ahead of you and you quickly got your thoughts in line and made you mind blank. simply concentrating on the walls of the halls, trying to pull out any distinct feature that you had seen before. Trying to commit this ship to memory was a hard task.
He stopped in front of a corridor full of doors and you passed him and went straight to yours, smoothly putting in the pass code which allowed you to enter. You could feel his presence behind you as you did so, when the door slid open you stepped inside and then made way for Kylo to make his way in behind you.
You silently watched as he surveyed your room, you could not tell his reaction as his face was still covered by the helmet until you saw him reach up and heard the hiss and the lick of it releasing his head. He turned his piercing gaze to you and your heard almost stopped. He took steps towards you and you breath hitched as you were yet again stunned by his beauty, suddenly it was too hot where you stood but you were paralyzed where you stood - you were sure he was not even using the force on you. All you could do was watch his body as it moved towards you, you imagined how powerful his body was underneath all the layers of armour, you couldn't help but wonder what it looked like, what it would feel like under your fingers. You had never been paid this much attention to by a man and it was making you forget how to act. You were sure that your face was flushed which would tell Kylo all he needed to know if he hadn't already heard.
He was ight in front of you, warm breath fanning your face until he dipped his head by your ear. His breath down your neck made you shake and you felt one of his hands on your arm steady you as he nipped at you ear and you very almost fell.
"I did hear it my darling." he whispered lowly into your ear.
And then he was gone, a smug smirk on his lips as he clicked his helmet back on. He turned his head as he was in your doorway.
"I'll be back for you tomorrow." he promised and with a swish of cape he disappeared down the corridor. It was all you could do to fall on your bed and try and catch your breath, that small encounter was enough to arouse you and it scared you how readily you reacted to him.

Master and the Mute
Kylo Ren x reader - Chapter One
Tumblr media
Chapter Two
YOUR POV
It had been a long day, but you had made your journey to the Finalizer with minimal clashes with other First Order employees on board the transporter, being mute never helped your interactions with other people. It meant that you led a lonely life, but by now you were used to it. Life was easier when you were lonely - interactions often turned hostile as people could not understand you and you had not found a clear way to communicate with anyone else. No-one had ever taught you sign language or any method of effective communication other than writing but that often took too long and made conversation arduous and long. No-one had ever been with you long enough to develop a relationship in which they could establish a means of effective communication with you.
Your parents had died in the explosion that took your voice from you when you were young. You had been taken in by a warm old woman who had done what she could for your body, she could not save your voice but had rescued your life. Even though you hated the scars that ran across your body that she could not heal, pain and trauma etched into your skin for eternity, you were grateful for your life. Your time with her was short as you were soon dragged away by Stormtoopers as a young and mostly-able body, you were put to work. You had no idea what came of your savior and you dared not think about it. The last person you could remember showing you compassion, working for the First Oder had been comfortable but you had no-one, no family or friends to turn to in your darkest moments.
Your new assignment on the Finalizer was not something you were entirely thrilled about, you were content on the small plant that the Order occupied. Moving between the different huts that held offices, command rooms and correspondence centers fixing the computers, data pads and whatever else. You had been happy existing alone but not wanting for much. So when it was heard that the commander of your little planet had recommended you for a position that General Hux needed to fill you were shocked as to why you were being put forward. You were not extraordinary or outstanding, if anything you were less helpful than normal maintenance staff as you had no voice. You just did your job as best you could and tried not to get in peoples way. So much for keeping your head down and not being noticed.
You laid down on your cot in your newly assigned quarters, too exhausted from the long days space travel to unpack. You were sure you’d have time in the morning before your assignment started. Your muscles relaxed as you gently exhaled trying to slow the your racing mind which was full of questions about your new position and if the order fully understood who they had employed on such an important ship. Would they do anything if they found out you were a mute? You also felt fear creep into your blood, you had heard the stories of who else resided on this ship - other than the domineering General Hux - Commander Ren. His reputation preceded him and although you had not once seen him in person, you knew that it was not in your best interest to look to meet the man. Ever. These thoughts troubled you deep into your sleep but it did not stop you from falling to sleep.
You only realized how uncomfortable the cot was when you tried to sit up after waking and your muscles screamed in protest. You then noticed the data pad on your bedside table was flashing violently which immediately woke you up as if cold water had been dumped all over you. With haste you pulled on some clean clothes and realized that there would be no time for unpacking - you had been summoned to the bridge with urgency it seemed by the frequency of the flashing. You grabbed the data pad and ran out of your room desperately trying to find a map anywhere on the glass screen to lead you to where you were meant to be going. With an internal sigh of relief you found a map of the ship and hastened your pace to the bridge, thankful that you had been heading in the correct direction in the first place.
You made it to the bridge breathless, a bit sweaty and very nervous in anticipation as to what whoever summoned you wanted from you.
Your question was soon answered when you saw a formidable General Hux standing and looking down onto his data pad as if it had personally offended him. You could feel a looming presence as you entered the bridge and passed by the storm troopers stationed by the entrance, but you pushed it to the back of your mind as anxiety bubbled inside of you as you neared the sneering general.
“Officer” He addressed you sharply as he noticed you approached him.
You nodded and tried to convey as much respect as you could muster without the use of you voice and lifted you gaze to meet his. He still glared at you expecting more. Does he not know? Surely it is written all over your records that you lost your ability to speak.
“Officer, you will address me when I address you. Do you understand?” He snapped at you as all you had been doing for a minute was staring at hi. You saw the tinge of pink begin to flourish on his ears as he seemed to get increasingly more upset with your silence.
Frustration began to cloud your thoughts. Why couldn’t you just speak a word? You were so stupid. So incompetent. But then you became frustrated by the ever reddening general staring down at you and you thought, how can his operation be so flawed and useless that he does not know he is expecting a mute to reply to him!!
Suddenly there was a deep mechanical chuckle from behind you. You whipped your head around to identify who the sound belonged to. Your breath hitched and your mind went blank as you saw Kylo Ren emerge from a group of people similarly clad in all black, each with an equally menacing mask.
“She is a mute General. Did you not know? It should have been mentioned on her record. No?” He taunted the General who by this point was as red as a cherry tomato.
Suddenly the ability to think was restored to you. He had heard you?
The dark and tall figure turned to you, “Oh yes I can hear everything you’re saying” he answered your thoughts which made your head go blank again. I cannot yet figure out why I can hear you darling, am I as scary as you dreamed last night? This time his mechanical voice did not echo in the now quiet bridge, but an unfiltered, smooth voice echoed in the chasms of your brain.
You dared not think up any sort of answer and kept your mind blank, too scared to even breathe in his direction.
General Hux scoffed. “Do you seriously think I have time to read the personal files of everyone on this ship Mater Ren? Unlike you, I’m busy running this ship and most of it’s fleet while you gallivant around with your knights”
The dark mountain of a man turned away from you and leered over the fiery-haired general, “Be careful how you speak to me General,” he lit his lightsaber by his side and rose it in a threatening manner at Hux, “Don’t forget who I am and who you are in the pecking order here.” he growled and you felt the power and anger radiate off of his wide shoulders.
Suddenly he was gone, in a flurry of black cape he had stormed out of the room and his knights had followed suit, leaving General Hux to let out a small, shaky breath that you were sure only you had heard. That’ll show him to be so complacent, you thought smugly. Your internal gloating was cut short by the General who announced.
“Well I have no idea why you were sent to me.”
Me neither. I am useless here. You thought.
“But since you are here and cannot talk, listen. If you have any questions tough, I assume you pick things up quickly?”
You nodded furiously to try and say YES to him. As a mute, asking questions was very difficult and so you had learned to live without having to ask them, picking skills up as and when you needed them.
“Right, follow me.” he curtly turned on his heel and led you through the ship. Detailing which parts you were assigned to maintain. Performing checks every day and he also informed you that you may be assigned odd-jobs across the whole ship when they needed and extra pair of hands.
You were glad for the monotonous distraction to allow your heart time to still. Your first full day and you had already managed to interact with Kylo Ren, someone that you had promised yourself you would avoid. Getting mixed in with him could only mean trouble. But he could HEAR and UNDERSTAND you, this was something that had never happened before and the prospects of it thrilled you to your core but when you remembered who it was a healthy fear dampened your excitement. You were glad that  your assignment was mainly solitary, it meant that it would be easier to ignore and avoid people.
A part of you longed to explore this strange connections with the powerful master, but the rest of you wanted to keep your head down and finish your assignment and get off the ship and back to your normal life.
All you could hope for was to stay out of trouble.
I know it’s short. It’s only chapter one, feedback and comments are appreciated. Thanks for reading <3

Because I want to and since quarantine has meant I have no school work as I will be going to university next year I am eager to fill up my time in some way. I will obviously start writing things that I feel inspired to write but I would love suggestions and requests. I’m open to anything.
