Some Fantasy AU designs!!

Dawn runs the local tavern that her and her husband Tony own, Natalie owns the town bakery, and Fenton is a guard/housecarl for the alchemist Gyro, who is unwillingly made Jarl of this village by King Scrooge. MD (Mad Ducktor) is there too as an assistant that Gyro makes.

I wish I could show you those designs, but they aren't quite ready yet. Anyways... I've been playing too much Skyrim.

What do Natalie and Fenton find attractive about each other?

There's a lot to love about each other! But if I had to choose the number one thing for both of them..

Fenton really admires Natalie's patience and her dedication to things she cares about. Natalie is able to listen to him and calm him down when he gets too stressed or nervous about stuff. It's a good balance that they have.

Natalie admires Fenton's passion. He can get really emotional about things but that's because he cares. She wishes that she could just be herself like that, but she's had to wall herself up for a good portion of her life. She enjoys watching him light up about something and she'll patiently listen to his rambles. He also makes her laugh a lot. 💙

How do you draw screenshot edits?

Hi! I spend a lot of time looking at screenshots from the show to get the show style down. When I first started doing edits, I'd spend some time just tracing over each character in the shot to get an idea of how the characters are constructed. Then a spent some time studying the show's lineart and shading so I could pick brushes that match the closest.

And after that studying, you just draw the character! I use the Clone Stamp brush in Clip Studio Paint to fix/modify the backgrounds if needed. I hope that answers your question!

What are your thoughts on Gandra Dee from both Ducktales shows?

I like both of them!

I don't think old Gandra gets a lot of credit honestly. Especially since some inspiration for new Gandra comes from the Ducktales 87 episode in which Gandra reveals she took advanced robotics in college (because the nail polishing class was full). But she's strong and stands up for herself when Fenton is out of line (and he almost always is in the old show).

And actually, I think both Gandras were underdeveloped. I would've loved to get more info on them in each show. In DT17, she felt rushed in. In DT87, they didn't give her a lot of screen time other than when they needed a love interest for Fenton around. But they're both strong intelligent women and I think we should've seen more of them.

This is excessively a hypothetical situation... If you could rewrite the evolution of Gandra and Fenton's relationship in Ducktales Reboot, what would it be like? What would you MOST change and what would the couple’s dynamics be like?

Oh my goodness, this ask was sent AGES ago! I'm so sorry, Tumblr hates giving me notifications I guess 😭

But to answer your question, really the only thing I would change is BEING ABLE TO SEE IT. They rushed the ship. I don't mind the ship at all, but it's hard for me to get behind it when Gandra is introduced as tricking Fenton from the start, then the next time we see them together they're a couple??

In my opinion, I don't think it made a ton of sense for Fenton to forgive her so quickly at the end of Dangerous Chemistry. A big part of Fenton's character is his sense of morality. And while he is a good person, and would definitely forgive someone, I think it was rushed. She completely lied to him outright and played with his emotions. I think it'd be hard to trust her immediately after that.

So when we see them again and suddenly they're together, it didn't make a lot of sense to me. The whole buildup of their relationship happened off screen and the show expects us to just blindly ship them at that point. I'm sorry but I wanted to see it! I needed to see how Fenton begins to trust her and how he's seemingly okay with her off flashbanging kids in the Swanstantine episode 🙃
