Why the guys in acotar donât have beards? I mean, Tamlin should have a beard to make him look âwilderâ. I can totally see Azriel with a very trimmed beard. Cassian would try to grow a mustache, but Mor would make him know how ridiculous it looks and he would shave it afterwards.Â
Whatâs wrong with beards, Sarah?????????

You may have talked about this before but it really bothers me how all of the main humans in the cast (Nesta, Feyre, Elain) were forcibly transformed into fae, by fae. All of the characters of a historically oppressed and enslaved species were transformed, against their will (including Feyre), into the same species that oppressed and enslaved them. The casual way slavery is discussed by the fae bothers me too, like the fact that some fae helped the humans makes up for all that history.
I donât think I have a full post about this subject, because honestly Iâm not having much free time right now to write and put my thoughts in a reasonable way around here. But Iâve reblogged this post by the dear @cinaja that adress this matter, mostly by Feyreâs actions and thoughts.Â
I think that having Feyreâs point of view along the books really helped to keep fae âon our good gracesâ, because Feyre has always been in love with a fae male. We have maybe 1/3 of acotar in which she thinks by herself and then she is under influence first from Tamlin, second from Rhysand. Itâs very natural for her to accept the way of living her lovers have, unless it reaches really high breaking points (aka Tamlin locking her inside his house).Â
I feel that part of the criticism towards Nesta also includes the fact that she is not a Fae lover in an instand, as Feyre became. Nesta sticks with her own evaluation of things and people and, honestly, what is it in Velaris to convince her that Fae arenât that bad? Beauty? Food? She had good things after Tamlin gave her family a state and money. She saw how awful Fae can be by herself fighting the war. Worst than that, she was used and turned into High Fae to hurt other Fae, meaning that the Faes continue to find themselves better than humans, alllowed to used them as they pleased.Â
Lucien, which is a more reasonable character in the series, gets surprised by Feyreâs prejudice against humans in ACOFAS, if you remember. I think this is another sign that her point of view is not exaclty reliable.
Iâll try to post about it soon, when I have the time to check some scenes again and use the quotes I find more expressive.Â
Thank you very much for you ask and I hope you can check the post I linked!

Am I the only one who thinks itâs weird that Rhysandâs mother made dresses for an sister-in-law still to come? Or that she left her ring with the Weaver for testing Rhysandâs future bride? Itâs kind of creepy...

Write fanfiction guiltlessly. Do it not only because itâs good practice, not only because you donât feel like putting your energy into original stuff, but because you do feel like putting your energy into fandom. Write fanfics of epic proportions or tiny one-shots; write fluff or angst or cliches or tropes; publish the roughest version or keep the twelfth draft for only yourself. Do it without feeling bad. You owe no one anything; the act of creation is a gift in and of itself, and it doesnât matter if youâre creating fanfic or original stories or whatever else you want. All that matters is you enjoy it, because why else would you do it at the end of the day?
Write fanfiction guiltlessly.

Coalescence is defined as the process of joining to form something or to bond, or the union of two things in one completely new and unique in which the original parts are still recognizable. Itâs also the term used to describe the union of two galaxies.
Nesta takes an unbelievable decision to keep Cassian from being expelled. His deep love for her becomes impossible to ignore as she learns more about herself and her ability to feel and share.
Nessian College AU.

This post is so necessary that I want to kiss it. Apparently Rhysand only rules Velaris, the easiest part of his teritorry to rule. As for the Illyrians, Iâm not even going to start... Besides, Feyre is happy building them a new house, thatâs her duty as High Lady *roll eyes*, not learning about how actually run a kingdom.Â
Dear Rhysand... this isn't how to run a country!
After roughly three hundred years of ruling, most people would expect some kind of progress. And no, Velaris doesn't count. That already existed before you took power.
For the Hewn City: What gave you the brilliant idea to allow them to "rule themselves and be as wicked as they please"? Quick reminder: You are their High Lord! Surely you know that only stopping by once a month to threaten and torture people is not a good system of ruling. Should you not have some semblance of control over the nobility of your court?
Oh, and I thought you care for women. What about the ones born into the Hewn City? In case you are confused about their situation, ask your cousin. Stop acting like letting these people do as they please harms no one - it does! Do you simply not care, or do you lack the power to change anything?
Same for the Illyrians. You're telling me that you still haven't managed to at least ban wing-clipping yet? It's been three centuries!
Oh, and you don't get to talk about how you want to "even the playing field for lesser faeries" when you use thousands of them as your expendable army without giving them a voice in the running of your territory. You aren't the solution, dear, you're part of the problem.
Allowing women and Illyrians into your Inner Circle is generally a nice idea. However, having ONLY your closest friends as your Inner Circle is a somewhat questionable choice and certainly not how governments should work (actually in our world, it would be a crime to give all your relatives high-paying government jobs)
While we're at it: Government jobs aren't just tokens to be given away. Emissary, for example, is an important job that requires some prior knowledge. You can't just keep giving it to random newly-Made Fae girls with zero political experience. Likewise, you can't keep offering your sister-in-law government jobs because you feel she needs to get out of the house more.
Oh, and as for getting married. If you do decide to make a twenty year-old girl you've known for a year co-ruler of your territory, you should at least properly introduce her to your court and people. A big celebration is not optional! Too bad for you if you don't like those, you're a High Lord! Get over yourself!
While giving weekly audiences to the citizens of your favourite city and personally answering their letters is certainly a nice idea, it is also completely impractical. In case it escaped your notice, your territory is huge! Spending all your time with the one place that actually seems to run smoothly is a bad idea.
Rule of the thumb: If your people are constantly on the brink of rebellion and you have to keep killing them to keep them under control, it's a sure sign that you're doing something wrong. Likewise, if part of your army believes you hate them so much that you'd willingly let them be slaughtered in battle, you've done something wrong.
There is this thing called diplomacy. Let me give you a bit of advice on this, since you apparently never heard of it:
An insult by a foreign ruler is unpleasant, sure. No one likes seeing their friends or mate being called "whore" or "human fiilth". However, it does not give you or your court members the right to physically attack the offending ruler during a peaceful meeting. You could start a war, idiot!
You do, in fact, not get to threaten High Lords in their own territory - or order them around, for that matter. Neither does your mate. Being High Lady gives her the right to give orders to your subjects, not to others.
If you somehow decide to play the asshole for centuries, be prepared for animosity. And no, it does not make other people unreasonable if they don't immediately believe you that it was all just an act.
No matter how much you may hate another High Lord, you can't just winnow into their court uninvited and insult them. It doesn't work that way!
If you come into someone's home under the guise of peace and then steal from them, chances of it ending in war are HIGH! Also consider the fact that other people are not idiots, so chalking the theft up to coincidence and denying any involvment won't work. Have you considered just asking for the book?
Oh, and while we're at it, Feyre:
Like I already told your mate: No ordering around foreign royals. No attacking them over insults. You'll. Start. A. War. Learn some self-control!
Yes, you do have to explain yourself to others. I don't care what Rhys says, you do. They get to question you and unless you want to look like a tyrant, you better answer.
Oh, and I get wanting to make your own choices. But since you're a ruler, you can't just run off and do as you please! Mor has a point, you need to trust your court and confer with them.
Listen, I get loving art, I really do. But surely you have to understand that being a High Lady is a full-time job. You don't have time to open an atelier and teach classes. I'm sorry, but if you wanted to do that, you should not have chosen to become co-ruler of a territory.

I need fics right now
AU where Minerva McGonagall has a little less faith in Albus Dumbledore so she does agree to leave Harry at the Dursleys.
But then proceeds to move right in next door with her wife because Albus never said that she couldnât.
So Harry grows up with two grandmalike aunties next door, who basically finnagle him into living with them in all but name. Itâs great, until he gets to Hogwarts because he keeps accidentally calling McGonagall Aunt Min instead of Professor.

THE BOND IS REAL
I can't believe this was passed unnoticed by me..
Acowar chapter 70.
[...]
And then Nesta began screaming. Not in pain. But a name. Over and over.
âCASSIAN.â
Amren reached for her, but Nesta roared, âCASSIAN!â
She scrambled to her feet, as if sheâd leap into the skies.
Her body lurched, and she went down, heaving again.
A figure shot from the Illyrian ranks, spearing for us, flapping hard, red Siphons blazingâ
Nesta moaned, writhing on the ground.
[...]
Cassian was halfway to us when the Cauldronâs blast hit the Illyrian forces.
I saw him screamâbut heard nothing. The force of that power âŠ
[...]
Nesta had known. She gaped up at me, terror and agony on her face, then scanned the sky for Cassian, who flapped in place, as if torn between coming for us and charging back to the scattering Illyrian and Peregryn ranks. Sheâd known where that blast was about to hit.
Cassian had been right in the center of it.
Or would have been, if she hadnât called him away.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââ
I always read this scene thinking "omg he heard Nes calling out for him in a battlefield, that's so awesome"
But... he couldn't... Feyre has the proof, it's marked right there.. he was surrounded by a THOUSAND soldiers... he wouldn't be able to hear her... But he could feel her..
She called him through the bond without realizing it :)
I'm not okay.
