Spectre (DotA2, The Ephemeral Haunt Set)

I made this costume as a dare! My friend is very into DOTA2, and I hardly knew anything about the game. We joked about if I should make a costume, and he dared me to make Spectre, and if I succeeded I’d get an ice cream!  After a 3 months of hard work I got the ice cream. And first prize at Dreamhack Summer 2015. I am very proud of how it turned out, considering the “out of this world” design she has. A fun challenge and one day the head will make a really good lamp or wall mount XD

Time for another tutorial!  This is a write-up of how I made my Crystal Maiden (DOTA2) cosplay 2018-2019. This cosplay is at version 4.0 now, as I have improved and re-made several parts for each time I’ve worn it, so all together several months of hard work.  This is one of my most advanced costumes. A LOT of thought and engineering went into making this costume; to make the helmet “work” and the staff collapsable. I have drawn all the patterns (sewing + armor and props).    I hope you fins this helpful and/or inspirational - and if you do please let me know :)  You may not sell my tutorial or pictures! Morrigan Aensland - “Batwings/batears”cosplay tutorial

Halloween is around the corner - so why not share how I made my gooorgeous batwings/batears for my nurse Morrigan (Darkstalkers) cosplay?

1) Reference Time to use your Google-fu: How does it look? Back, front and side. 2) Pattern I drew the ears myself on freehand and altered the drawing until I got a nice size.

You may use this pattern (below) for your own personal costume (print on a4 paper for 100% size). I will not allow this pattern to be used for profit! 

3) Make the ears! Chose your prefered materials - the ears may be made in foam, worbla, paper lay - your imagination is the only limit! I chose worbla, as the ears are quite thin and I didn't want them to break/flop around too much. I used Black worbla as the base (as it doesn't require so much priming), made a wire sceleton and added more regular + black worbla scraps to shape the ears. I bent the ears forward to make them more “alive”. Attached to the headband with the wire and worbla scraps. 

4) Make it pretty! I dremeled the edges to get it smoother. 

5) Clay details I molded the little claws in Apoxie clay.  

6) Make it pretty - part 2  Then primed with wood glue and car filler spray. And sanded. Several times. As I was on a tight deadline, I didn't do it as many times as I'd like to, but turned out alright :) 

7) Base colors Spray painted the base colors (black + pink for Morrigan and green + red for Lilith) - one color and then masked and the other. My favourite brand is Montana Gold ( use the "acrylic" one as it won't crack if bent as much as the regular one will).

8) Acrylic paints For some shade and touch up.

9) Varnish I used Panduro's matte varnish - one coat. 10) Slay! My babe Lilith is cosplayed by Tenkou cosplay

Can’t wait until Ni no kuni II!! :D So soon!  With this cosplay I wanted to prove that cosplay doesn’t have to be expensive! The pants and shirt are thrifted (about 10 SEK/1Euro/piece) and modified. The shoes costed 40 SEK/4 Euro. The cape is made from a thrifted bed spread, and the tunic a thrifted curtain. Drippy, belts, flask and other small parts were made from leftover materials I had at home :)  I love these photos! Robert (yet again) did a great job capturing the feel of this game. I am always blown away by his work! (and we always have a good time shooting!)

SHIRO KUMA CAFÉ!! 😍❤️ Went to the themed café in Takadanobaba (Tokyo), it was super cute! (actually, we went here yesterday as well but it was closed for the holiday so had to come back! XD) The food was alright, not amazing, but alright, but the setting is super cute! Well worth a visit. I cannot recommend this anime enough! It's a slize of life series featuring animals, and all characters are so relatable, although I think Pengin-san, Grizzly and Shiro Kuma are my favorites ^^ And the ugly King Penguin baby! I AM SO EXCITED FOR COMIKET THIS WEEKEND!! Will cosplay the first day, but one full day will be spent on doujinshi (fan magazine/comics) shopping 😍 When discussing with ny fiancé how much time we would spend there, his response was "Meh, it won't take too long, just a quick look through the tables.." 😆 Babe, it's over 35,000 exhibitors (in three days)... That's over 10 000 per day.. Might take a bit longer than you think to have a "quick look". 😉👌 This is the official catalog with all the exhibitors.
