This is a house (I guess) I saw on a pier by Chao Phraya river in Bangkok, Thailand. There, besides trash, the river is filled with several type of enormous fish and this is what I found on that: The fish you see at pier are released by the locals for making good merit. Hoy no dibuje una fachada que me guste mucho pero si una que me toca ver por el momento to a diario. Son los antiguos juzgados de Barcelona que están siendo derribados por "problemas de seguridad" y que será (me acabo de enterar ahora después de meses) la nueva Audiencia de la ciudad. De paso comentar que tarde 30 min en hacerlo y lo digo por que a veces me lo preguntan. Every day I see it, walking around or under it. I've sketched it a few times but not from this perspective, not from this side , until just now. It's a beautiful monument and if you've seen it you've surely realized it's full of details all over and I tended to try and draw all of them and didn't love the result. Today I kept it simple and again playing against the odds using non waterproof ink before watercoloring and we'll, this is it, Barcelona's triumphal arc with black ink bleeding all over, I like it messy like that. This time I drew just a puppy. Well, not just a puppy, this is @jeffkoons “Puppy” (1992), it’s a huge floral sculpture of a west highland terrier that sits now just outside Bilbao’s @guggenheim. I’ve seen it on two separate trips to that city and just love it, who couldn’t. The other day I mentioned my desire to just see something and freely sketch not minding straight lines or allowing my sense of order to be in charge. I think I overdid it hahaha, but here it is. This is Plaça Espanya in Barcelona. Love this place for so many reasons, it was the first place I saw getting of the bus from the airport just landing here more than 11 years ago, I lived very close by and spent a lot of Sunday afternoons just sitting on MNACs stairs or summer nights watching the magic fountains. Imagen de un bar abandonado en Mutriku, en el Pais Vasco. Abandonado al parecer pero me gusto tanto que hice la foto para darle vida después ya que me parecía un lugar con muy buen rollo, o así lo quise ver en mi cabeza, quizá por el ambiente, quizá por el viaje o sencillamente or la cantidad de txacolis o zuritos que me tomé con los pintxos que me hacían imaginar cosas. El punto es que la segunda imagen es un sketch over de la situación que vi. Hoy, entre que Spotify me programó un excelente playlist y que era viernes iba de muy buen humor a la oficina. Por un segundo caí en darme cuenta en lo contento que estaba, no es que sea amargado pero tampoco suelo reparar en los momentos que me siento bien o de buenas, me limito a disfrutarlos pero bueno, en eso mi mente voló y me dio esta idea, la anote y aquí está. So I’ve been sort of planing my next trip with quite more stress than the usual pre travel excitement. Might be that I’m getting older or that I lack the time I used to have to spend hours reading about a new place to discover, where to eat, what to see, how to move.
