So today I got a rather unkind comment on AO3 (one could call it hate), but I believe it to be a bot for several reasons:

Guest account, but username attached

Said username exists but person is unlikely to be reading Tolkien fic (according to their Tumblr and AO3, they are in other fandoms)

Two grammatically correct sentences

Super generic text that could apply to any fic:

"I've seen better fanfiction written by a toddler. Get it together!"

I'm curious, did anyone else get comments like this? Let me know.

And to those who have gotten rude comments and are now worried/upset: Maybe it was just a bot too. Either way: You're awesome for putting your writing out there for others to enjoy and you don't deserve to get rude comments for it. If you want feel free to message me to compare cases and discuss details :)

I probably put way too much thought into it but I do enjoy making a more in depth story rather than winging it. I like to actually think about the worldbuilding, make sure things actually connect and make sense. I am a big history nerd and I feel like it's the closest I can get to writing my own history.

after they tuck

Waking up on Sunday mornings,

aaaah!! I love this! This is perfect :D that would DEFINITELY give this the direction it needed - of course, that means this will absolutely be a long fic, which i had always suspected when i was writing out the basic plot points. the question is - *how* long? lol

Barney, reamed out by Clint, is heartbroken over Nat, and frantically clingy and protective of his family upon their return, plus kinda self-condemning over the Ronin thing, so he retreats from the Avengers to focus on family and trying to heal.

Clint is still the depressed guy he was before the snap, but also feels guilty about not helping out with Thanos, so he steps in to help with the new kids. He spends a lot of time lurking -in the vents, rafters, roof, etc. which draws Bucky’s attention. They eventually do the dueling snipers thing on the practice range, and conversations start. Clint fills in what Bucky doesn’t remember, and they were enemies to lovers that one time WS escaped to New York in 2000 for a month or 2. After one too many suicidal mission accidents, Buck convinces Clint to get some help, leaning on their similar pasts-brainwashing, sniper, etc. [cue renewed Winterhawk if desired] Sam helps with finding a good therapist, and Buck starts ragging on them both over hawks vs falcons.

After Clint and Buck save Barney & fam from some major Ronin retaliation attempt, Clint reconciles with Barney who is better but wants to stay retired. The three reminisce about Natasha, discovering they all loved her, and creating a memorial for her on Barney’s land (a bench with a great view under a nice tree.

ahhhh ! thank you! This is one i've been poking at for a while and am pretty excited about it now that i've figured out a plot hole :D of course that means i have to clean up what i've already got before i keep going with the rest but details, details!

Anyway, sorry for the delay - today was an important event that i had only 3 hours of sleep for (yay!) and then i had a REALLY hard time picking something that was short enough for a snippet but i think i got just the thing!!!

“There are more,” Geralt said. “There’s five more witchers besides him in this town. Your spell only registered one.” She startled, biting out a curse. “Then it seems I need to examine them all, find out what has caused such a large discrepancy. Once could be an exception, but five…” she shook her head. “There has to be a reason my spell didn’t pick them all up.” “I have an idea about that, actually,” Jaskier said, surprising everyone. “Oh? Well, don’t keep it to yourself, bard. Out with it,” Yennefer said with an imperious wave of her hand.  Jaskier stuck his tongue out at the mage, ever cheeky. Their relationship was a strange one, and Lambert didn’t get how Jaskier could even tolerate her presence in the keep or, more importantly, around Geralt. Not given the history there. “I’m no mage, of course, but your spell was built after studying one that had failed.” Her eyes widened in realization, but the rest of them weren’t far behind her in understanding what he meant. “Incomplete data set, skewing the results. Of course.” “You know what this means, right?” Jaskier leaned forward eagerly, elbows on the table as he looked around at all of them earnestly. “It means there could be many, many more Witchers out there that we didn’t even know about.”

Okay, first off, how familiar are you with The Amazing Devil? Because seriously...  awesome song! If you’ve never heard it, please check it out, and look at the lyrics and i mean, they aren't perfect representations of Zoro and Sanji (because this is absolutely Zosan) but the ending in particular killed me and totally gave me Whole Cake vibes

So I've got bits and pieces where Zoro slowly learns/figures out some or all of Sanji's secrets, and falling in love with each other but they don't advertise it to the world, so they are absolutely soft with each other in private, and then Whole Cake Island happens.

I'm actually debating writing two versions of it - one where Zoro goes after him and one where he doesn't. and I can blame @socially-awkward-chocobo for that, because when i couldn’t decide the best course of action she literally said:

Right now the beginning is an ABSOLUTE mess that i have to tear apart and i’ll probably desperately need a beta once i get any SIGNIFICANT work done on it (currently at almost 8k) but i feel like it has a nice strong base to be going on with. 

I just need to get motivation to write. Thank you for asking!

I'm not even sure anymore how the idea started??? there was a discussion about Clint and Barney and different actors for some reason? and then all of a sudden i had this as basic Plot up through Endgame:

It was Clint in the first Thor movie, and it was still Clint in the first Avengers movie. But after the shit that happened there, he's all depressed. the Fraction comics happen in this time frame, and Clint is pulling away from Nat and the Avengers, so anytime there's a call out, Clint manages to convince his brother Barney to go. (They look enough alike, had the same circus upbringing. maybe barney just dyes his hair. whatevs...) Nat figures it out of course, because she knows Clint. Phil would have too, but Phil's *cough*Dead*Cough* And then the story was supposed to focus a on Barney as he goes through the different movies, and in Civil War Bucky's like, wait, you're not Hawkeye and Barney's thinking fuck, how does he know that? OF COURSE I'm Hawkeye and Bucky doubts because his memory is full of holes (but he's right, and Clint and him have met before. Might have a Winterhawk angle, but if so, it would be at the very end. Could probably run this whole fic without it) The Snap happens, and it's Barney's FAMILY and CLINT that get snapped away... Barney who goes all Ronin because he can't bear to use the arrows, when that was Clint's thing, and then he loses Nat.... who he's somehow become friends with Nat who was like, you're my only link to Clint now but you're also my friend.... Anyway, the rest of the avengers finally find out about the Barney/Clint thing, cause Clint shows up at the funeral, pissed at Barney for LOSING NAT

and Bucky going, I KNEW IT! VINDICATION (this is where Winterhawk might start if it happened) But now Clint doesn’t fit in with the Avengers because... they never really knew him at all, since he was always shoving Barney in his place.

and... i think this is what kills me because i don't know how this would actually END.
