Hello Mr. Schott! I have a question, did you and your father bond over making toys?

Absolutely! To be honest, I never made anything amazing that young; my small hands were inexperienced and imprecise compared to his. But I cherish every memory I have of that bonding. Among other toys, I still have a little wooden airplane that we made together. He formed the wood and I (fairly sloppily) painted it. It was one of the last things we made before he was incarcerated. After that, I practiced my craftsmanship constantly. Luckily, most of the high schools I went to had nice shop classes. 

And now look at what I can do!

Surviving The Woods.

So, you’re thinking of going hiking in the woods? Maybe do some camping? Sounds fun. Here have some survival tips. 

Always bring plenty of water, food, a first aid kit and a spare set of clothes.

Don’t stray from the trail, or don’t stray too far alone. 

If you see a bear or mountain lion, don’t run, act big and make loud noises, the animal will think you’re weird and not want to contaminate itself with your weird. 

If you insist on bringing a child, do not allow the child to stray away from you, keep them close. 

If you bring a child and they claim to see a man that is very hairy and answers to ‘The Bear Man.’ or ‘The Wolf Man.’ who is offering them berries, carry the child to safety. 

Stay away from the stairs. 

Do not pay any attention to the stairs. 

Do not climb the stairs.

If you find anything strange in the woods and inform one of the Park’s Officers and they do not call it in, no matter how strange it is, forget what you saw. 

If you decide to climb some kind of mountain, hill or cliff and upon reaching the top you see a man with no climbing gear and the wrong kind of clothing, leave before he turns around, leave quickly. 

If you see a man on the ground on all fours looking like he needs some help, don’t get too close if you haven’t verified that it is indeed a man in need of help. 

Don’t approach children who are running on the spot. 

If you decide to go into the woods alone, keep to the path and check in with any hikers or officers you see on the trail, that way if you go missing then they’ll have a vague idea of where you were intending to go. 

If you do decide to go missing because you want a new life, don’t do it in the woods because you may go missing in a different way. 

If you’re a ghost and/or entity reading this who went missing or lives in the woods, how are you reading this? What’s the WiFi password in the middle of nowhere?

A fine start to a blog: a personal project! My Hallowe’en costume from last year!

In the midst of my first semester at uni and another cosplay project that was dragging on way longer than I expected, I decided I needed to cleanse my palate with an ol’ fashioned scarecrow costume, just in time for October. I had done a scarecrow costume several years ago, so I had a good idea about how to do things, as well as some scrap materials from that. It broke out on that wonderful night to the delight of young children and the chagrin of teenagers and adults. 

(My deepest apologies for the horrid camera work, picture quality, lighting, etc.)
