Grind Time Fun Time
Classes are in full swing and we’re thriving baby. I’ve gotten really into journaling and it’s definitely doing wonders.
Should I do 100 days of productivity?? Is that something people would want?? Whomst knows

revision tip
for important exams, you can’t just cram the night before and expect to do well like you would with a simple end-of-topic test. as it’s the start of a new school year, and the start of year 11 for me, i’m planning to spend at least one hour per day revising for the entire year, all the way up to my GCSEs. this tip is extra efficient if you plan out what subjects you’ll do each day, enabling you to revise all the content from all your subjects by the end of the year. but even if you go in with no plan and just get started on whatever subject you’re feeling, you will be doing something productive and that’s what counts. ideally, you should increase the amount of time you spend revising each day as you get closer to mock exams/the real deal. good luck!

It has been a WHILE
I’m going to try and get back into the grove here, but I have been swamped lately with school work. Classes are still in full force here but it’s okay because I’ve been listening to some new tunes™️ to ease the pain!
This week: Sanctuary by Aly and Aj. That’s right, the duo behind the hit Potential Breakup Song are back and making great music!

Same Grind, New Tunes
Another late night, another whole pot of coffee, but it’s not so bad with some good songs. I’ve been listening to Golden Hour lately and I highly recommend!
Side note: would y’all be interested in me doing weekly music recommendations?? HMU and let me know!

since I’m starting a new semester next week I thought it would be a good idea to share what I do before in order to start it off right!
1. cleaning and decluttering
I do it at the end of every semester, just because my room ends up looking like a mess during exam season, so the first thing I do is clean everything, room, desk, closet. it feels really good to store textbooks I won’t need, filled notebooks, even go through my clothes and make up I don’t use anymore, just to have a fresh start. It also leaves room for my new textbooks and files I’ll need for the new semester.
2. looking back
before I start planning anything, I like to look back on what I did the last semester, what worked and what didn’t, how I managed my time, (which I didn’t at all last semester, so I definitely have to look into that) and how I can improve. It’s also good to set goals for yourself, even if it’s just small things or habits you want to change. I really want to read a lot more and don’t fall behind on my classes. setting goals helps me set the tone for the semester and to stay motivated.
3. buying new stationery
since I usually use up all of my notebooks and I love hoarding stationery, going shopping before the semester starts is a good idea, to make sure I have everything I need for my classes.
4. preparing classes
when it comes to time management, again, I’m not the best at doing it, so this time in addition to my classes, I’m also scheduling time to study, to make sure I don’t fall behind. I also like to get the textbooks beforehand, because some of my teacher share that information before the start of the semester, that way I’ll know what I’m dealing with.
5. relaxing
relaxing and pampering is very important, I go out with friends and catch up on tv shows because I know I won’t have time to do it as often during the semester, just enjoy the free time you have and do what you love.
and that’s it, I wish you all a great semester!

My Personal Character Files: The 6 Box Method
This is for my science fiction WIP, so some things may need to be added/modified depending on your genre. I will also include a screenshot of an example at the bottom so y’all can see how I set it up in my Doc.
1. The Quick Ref
I use this as the first page of my “Character FIles” Doc.
I put all my important characters in a list, then add their height, age, and the page their complete file can be found on. This is helpful when I need to know if a character would have to crane their neck upward to look another character in the eyes. Comes up more than I’d have guessed.

2. The Individual Profile: 6 Box Method
I add and subtract stuff based on how important the character is. Without further ado…
Box One: Reference Photo
This is where I add in any actor, model, drawing, etc that I base the look on. When I don’t need one, sometimes I’ll put in a picture that represents the character’s style.
Box Two: The Introduction
Full Name
Nickname(s)
Age
Occupation
Current home
Situation: How do they enter this story?
Motivation: What do they want?
Favorite quote/saying
Biggest strength
Biggest issue
Strongest trait
Box Three: Behavior
Personality
Habits
Ambition/Short and Long Term Goals
Greatest fear(s)
Phobias
Biggest secret(s)
Social skills
Interior talents
Box Four: Background
Home moon/planet
Important history
Family
Friends, Enemies, Acquaintances, and Colleagues
Finances
Education
Phys. Health/Mental Health
Religion
Romantic/sexual preference
Interests/Hobbies
Box Five: Appearance & Physicality
Height
Body type
Skin tone/Ethnicity/Species
Facial description
Prominent/distinguishing features
Dress
Mannerisms
Physical talents
Box Six: Speech

Long time no see!
Been getting back into the grind of things. Today was one of my most productive days in a while. I updated my bujo, started my journal, and got so much work done for my Midterm coming up.
Side note: go listen to Ben Platt’s two new singles. They are so good!!!

15.12.18 // I started mapping out my new bujo ideas this week and I’m so so excited for a new style 🌼
As much as I loved my monthly layouts in 2018, I’m glad for the opportunity to change it up and make it excite me more and fall in love with the process again. I’ll post more about this soon 🌱
I’m looking for new spread ideas so keep them coming!! Loving all the motivation for the new year.

Alright here it is folks the official guide to starting college that I have no authority giving!
Now, as far as college experiences go, mine has been pretty unconventional. I go to school in a major city. My university has no campus. I’ve never been to a frat party or any of that, and I only lived in the dorms for one year. However, there are some universal things that will help anyone who’s starting college and moving away from home for the first time!
