Jean cocked his head to the side, confusion replacing the grief and discomfort from earlier. "I... yeah?"

"Okay. I'll be back in a bit!" Jeremy called out before rushing up the stairs and out of sight.

Frozen to the spot, Jean stared at the spot where Jeremy had been for a full minute before snapping back into the present and casting a glance over his surroundings. It all seemed cold, the large space feeling empty in comparison to their room.

Jean took a deep breath, held it, and let it go slowly as he mentally went through one of Betsy's tips: instead of focusing on what wasn't there, he could focus on what was. So he filled the kettle with water from the sink and turned it on before fishing his phone out of his pocket and hitting number two on his speed-dial.

"Save me, Jean."

"I take it that the cruise is going well?" Jean said, the corner of his lip curling up into a callous grin.

"Wipe that grin off your face Moreau," Kevin hissed. His voice was barely recognizable over the phone, with a tinny tone and fuzzy quality.

"I don't know what you could mean," Jean said, forcing his voice to be as even and unaffected as possible.

for real tho? especially if you consider tachibana kiryu’s equivalent to makoto in majima’s side of the story, i really believe something in kiryu snapped when tachibana died just as much as something did in majima later on when makoto got shot– if not more. the mad dog persona was a conscious choice that didn’t come about the second majima snapped and fought everyone tojo hq, but kiryu was straight up ready to kill a man by the time he was fighting shibusawa, no persona or anything to blame it on. arguably he went off the rails way sooner and held it together for way less time than majima managed to.

#and I mean. say what you will about majima’s spontaneity and all that but kiryu’s just as violent as him and THEN some #and it’s not subtle. from square one he solves all his problems with violence cause that’s sorta what he’s been conditioned to do #but I think when tachibana dies it goes from just doing what he’s programmed to do to genuinely channeling anger and resent and emotions in #general into beating the living shit out of people and not thinki by twice about the consequences #which is a trait he maintains throughout his entire life- with better and worse periods of course but #overall. yeah. look at his heat actions in y5. he’s miserable and it shows through how fucking unnecessarily Violent his moves are #smashing someone’s face into the pavement and rubbing it back and forth on asphalt? yeah I think even majima would be like #woah. take it back like. fifteen steps. breathe for a second #kiryu #majima #rambling #y0 #yakuza 0 spoilers #majima’s self control is actually sort of fucking incredible if you think about it #cause look at what kiryu went through in 0 and before 0 compared to majima- yet majima still didn’t go apeshit after all the #literal torture and god knows what else in his background

omggg and bringing megumi, tsumiki and the twins!! megumi would prob just hang around the beach bc he’s not a huge fan of water satoru tried to drag him in there but he seriously wont even budge. with tsumiki in charge of the food making sure that someone doesn’t eat all the sweets!

all while mimiko and nanako bury satoru into the sand (y’know those little sand mermaids?). suguru won’t even stop them bc he loves his girls and…it’s hilarious seeing satoru like that. all fun and games until he’s next tho…

megumi definitely gets the twins to bury satoru way too deep in the sand out of revenge bcus satoru acc spent the first hour of the beach trip looking for a sea urchin js to point at megumi and tease him ab how the resemblance is uncanny and suguru laughed WAY too loud

reader and tsumiki sunbathe and try out different drinks (well deserved break after carrying the whole family on their back) until they have to dig the boys up

satoru forgets his sunscreen (he really didn't he js didn't pack it n boasted ab not needing any bcus he has perfectly invincible unblemish-able skin)

the twins spend most of their time in the water but they take the time to collect rocks and gift them to megumi who gives them seashells he found (megumi is the twins' emotional support neurodivergent brother I STAND FIRM)

reader falls face first off sugu's shoulders and almost DROWNS bcus satoru thought it was a good idea to do those two man water fights (where one person is on the other's shoulder and they fight the others)

suguru also sneakily takes photos of everyone in between everything (he has a carefully curated family photo album he will fight anyone abt)

all in all the beach trip took one month to plan bcus this is a BIG family and there's so much going on but best blv they did not leave til sunset (mainly bcus satoru said he didn't pay for an all inclusive hotel just to NOT enjoy everything)
